i don't watch 911 and you're my only 911 mutual so i'm messaging you something i've noticed through tiktok. i think a lot of bucktommy hate is because they don't care about buck being queer unless it leads to buddie. he can be queer - for buddie. if it's for another relationship, means anything to his character, it's irrelevant. i would not be shocked if they started to say they were queerbaited by buddie if it does not become canon. queerbaited by a queer man's friendship with an assumed straight man!!

It's weird because I wasn't even necessarily into Buck and Tommy for most of the season. I was so happy they finally gave Buck his epiphany, and I didn't care about anything else and was willing to wait and see what happened. I wish we had gotten more. I wanted more before I decided if I liked the relationship.

Then, the homophobic hatred of Tommy became on such a frothy level of magnitude in such a short amount of time that I have not seen since fans of color on OFMDTWT got hate mongered with such an overwhelming swept-up force because they dared to call out a white grown actor for posting something that was blatantly racist?

Like. Yeah, okay. I like Tommy now. Peace out, y'all.

ETA: Man, Lou is out here making me want to eat my words with his social media behavior. I'm still not happy with how people have reacted to Tommy in general, and I think that aspect needs to be talked about, but I definitely do not stan Tommy, and Lou has a long way to go to get my trust back. Just like Ryan did with his Instagram fiasco. And I still, on some level, haven't completely forgiven Ryan because it's not my place to forgive him, and the same goes for Lou. It took me years to come back to enjoying Eddie. Tommy is whatever. We barely know him. However, the absolutely aggressive, violent hate of Tommy, the character, is also unacceptable. This is why I don't get involved in this fandom anymore. There are just so many gross things people do, and I don't have time for it.

Seein' too many Twitter refugees asking if they'll get in trouble for saying "kill yourself" to people and while no, you're not gonna get nuked from orbit, that is maybe something you just shouldn't be doing in general perhaps?? Maybe telling people to kill themselves is bad actually??
