Here We Go Again With the Bullshit

I don't often speak on politics here but I'm going to take a very brief moment to say that I'm fucking pissed off, so FUCKING PISSSED OFF, that I had to wake up to the election of Donald Trump as president elect in 2024. Trumpism is antithetical to everything I believe in. Always has been and always will be. That's all I have to say about this at the moment. Lamenting the ineffectual nature of the Democratic party, the United States' deep racism and general feelings about misogyny will have to wait. My best to all of you out there who tried, who were targets, and who will now live in a far more dangerous atmosphere in the aftermath. Find one another. Support one another. Care for one another. Shit just got harder for everyone (even the dumb assholes who elected a traitorous criminal rapist piece of shit, they just don't know it yet). I'm off to be worried and sad and incoherently angry. I've got to sit with the young punk in me who continues to hate Ronald Reagan and commiserate about having to live with the moral shortcomings of your society and that, while fighting the good fight is necessary even if you don't win (or even face the chance of winning), it's fucking tiring and how you wish more people would just BE BETTER and that another world IS possible but so many people are just so fucking stupid. I rarely post anything, but today was rattling for me too, a non US citizen. I can't imagine what y'all are going through, but please hold on to hope. To all my fellow women, queer, trans, anyone of any race or background or gender who felt that their rights as a human were threatened by the results of the election, remember there are people out there who love you and we care. They may not, but we do. Please reach out if you wish to talk.

So on the 19th of January, 2025 they are most likely going to ban tiktok because it poses a "national security threat" or something. As most of us know them saying they're gonna ban tiktok isn't new. They've said it multiple times since the app even came out, but this is the first time ive seen them put an actual date on when it should be taken down.

Genuinely I don't understand how Twitter (I won't call it X🤷‍♀️) stays up and various online apps. Another thing is tiktok is the LEAST of our worries. We have children unsafe in their own schools yet THIS is what were trying to focus on? People are dying because they can't access basic healthcare. It's not politics it's basic human rights. People should be able to EXIST.

If anything I feel like they want to silence us. Ofc Tiktok isnt perfect (no app is) but it's more useful than Twitter or Instagram. Tiktok keeps the people updated (albeit sometimes they have biases but were human). And if the want to use the national security threat EXCUSE then why did so many peoples social security numbers get stolen by hackers in April of this year?! A complete data breach and yet we re still getting rid of TIKTOK?!

Anyways I just wanted to come on here and kinda explain it from my pov. If you disagree with my view thats ok just be respectful. Due to the possible ban I've decided I will probably be moving mostly just on here and Yt (since Instagram and Twitter scare me and FB sucks imo)
