Just think about it...
how incredible it is that we can share these worlds that only exist in our minds with one another.
That we can help others to see it too.
That we can make others fall in love with the people that only exist to us.
That we can make them so real it feels like we could reach out and touch them.
Just think about how incredible the art of writing truly is.
Marvel at the talent you have.
Marvel at the things you can do. The things you can accomplish. The love and hatred you can create... simply by using your words.
That's true power. Awe-inspiring, really.

mayprompts2024 - a heartfelt Thank You
Tumblr media
This May has rushed by so fast, I can't really believe it. It's been absolutely crazy.
I've been intrigued by the concept of the may prompts again just like I've been last year but I thought I would not get to write much because my IRL May 2024 would be packed with work and well, real life.
But, starting with the first prompt "open", the inspiration just flowed. I managed to write every single day (with one exception due to a medical emergency and I did two prompts the day after so that doesn't really count for me).
Most days, I carved out at least 1.5 up to 2.5 hours only for my writing (I'm slow and I want to make it good) and I really don't know how I managed that but the urge to write was so strong that I had actually no choice but to comply.
I wrote two AU's, the hilarious Bed Shop AU `The Perfect Place' and the tattoo shop AU 'White Pony Tattoo' which is a bit more serious but still fun to read. Both stories surprised myself every day. I am ridiculously proud of these. All is/will be on AO3 and I'll make a masterpost later.
I had a such great time. But it wouldn't, couldn't have been that fantastic fandom experience, the feeling of being - more than ever - part of a community, welcoming and supportive and egging each other on in the very best of ways without all of you.
This month especially have I felt so strongly that you all are my found family. I love you all and the fandom so much and now I can't see the keyboard because I have real tears in my eyes because I've become so sentimental.
Thank you @calaisreno for hosting this event and channeling the writing muses and all of the sentiments connected with it.
Thank all of you who have filled prompts, some provoking utter joy, others deep pain and all the feelings in between. I'm not going to tag people here because I don't want to leave anybody out by accident. I've (hopefully) reblogged all that has been created and also, you know who you are.
Thank all of you who have reblogged my writings and/or interacted with them via comments, emojis or added gifs. It makes me so happy to evoke something with what I come up with. No tagging again, you know who you are as well.
All the love to you, Samarra

Dear writers,
I know how important comments are - believe me, as a writer myself I absolutely do - but I would like to notify you that sometimes a simple kudos can be all a person can do to show their love. My brother loves fanfics, even saves passages of them onto his phone - but he has crippling social anxiety to the point where he’s afraid to even bookmark or mark for later a fic. It doesn’t matter how much I reassure him writers love comments of all kinds - he’s simply too anxious.
So everytime you - understandably - despair over the ratio of comments to kudos you get (or maybe you even don’t get comments at all), just remember there are people like my brother who love you from afar and are simply too nervous to tell you themselves.
You have more fans than you know. Keep writing. It’s a blessing for everyone.

passion.
it's supposed to be the burning flame,
the light that guides you forward,
the torch that lits the way.
but
sometimes,
the flame reduces to nothing but a spark.
and
the light seems so far that all you see is darkness.
and sometimes,
the torch burns a bit too much,
leaving us all in burned pieces.

Today I once again realised how bad comments or too high expectations of readers can take the fun as writer away. How it always is somewhere keep going in my head.
My fun supposed challenge got stomped, because of something that happened.
It's sometimes feel unbelievable it not gets forgotten. It's also hard to see the positivity of it, even if you know it's there.
I'm just happy the Ao3 community is so nice. In the end I'm just a tiny fanfiction writer.

I wanna say thanks, I've been reading your stories since I was a teen, and loved it.
My mother and father had put supernatural on for me when I was thirteen since they loved the show and I unfortunately got to scared to watch it all by the third episode, but then I read the first chapter of brothers apart and that gave me the courage to give the show another shot, and it worked XD
So thank you for your awesome stories, I feel like when I write for other g/t fandoms my work feels a bit inspired by the way you write.
Yours sincerely, APerson
I have to say, waking up to your message and seeing the new notifications on some of our older posts made my year!
Supernatural is the reason I've met some of my closest friends in life, so the show always means a lot to me ^^ I'm so glad to hear you came back to it. I was very easily spooked by shows when I was growing up (my sister would put on Labyrinth when I was just five! She kept wondering why I had nightmares at night)
These days I love horror and spooky stories and getting scared while cozy at home, and writing stories of my own. It's also fun imagining Sam and Dean in whatever horror movie I'm watching, fixing all the mistakes the main characters are making
We're glad to have you with us! There will be a new Brothers Apart story posting later this year for sure, so we'll have the original boys back for a bit. Still plenty planned out for them before the story ends, and TONS planned out for all the other AUs we have going.
Keep that writerly spirit, more g/t is always needed in fandoms!

Be proud of your writing, never let anyone telling you it's bad or not worth reading it.
You put your soul, heart, life experience and time into it. Everyone that not appreciate it, is not worth talking to. There are way more people out there who will appreciate your work!
And never let anyone decide what you writing about, only if you agree to it. You are the Author.
In the end it's your work. It's important you feel good with it and nobody else.
I say it once again be proud of your writing and yourself!
It absolutely not matters if fanfiction or book!

a comment can be <3 if you already left kudos.
AO3 Comments are SO SO SOOOOOOO important because you can only leave Kudos ONCE. You add to the hit count ONCE (every 24 hours).
So whenever someone updates their fic, the ONLY way an author knows who their regular readers are is if they comment on each chapter. And we WANT to know who's still reading.
Believe it or not, some of us think about the name that pops up constantly in the comments and go "omg I can't wait to see what they think of THIS SPECIFIC SCENE cuz I KNOW they'll say something about it!!!"
