Me at 13 or 14... I don't exactly know how old I was when this was taken.
But I believe it was either after I came back to Minnesota, or, at least, a few years after.
Man, I looked very moody back then.

I don't remember if you've ever been asked this, has any Gothamite shipped Danny the Menace with Phantom like BatBruce?
"Did you hear?" A girl whispered to her friends, taking glances at Danny. He had half the mind to tell them they weren't being subtle with their gossiping about him but he was a little curious to see what new rumors were going around this time.
A few months ago, the hottest rumor was that he apparently tricked three students into following him into the sewers as a prank. He fist fought Killer Croc after the criminal came upon them mid prank, outrage the man ruined his hard work.
What no one knew was that Danny had gone into the sewers to map them out, and the three students followed him. He thinks they wanted to blackmail him or something. Instead, the three idiots were making such a ruckus that Killer Croc found them. He had to defend himself and the three idiots in the heat of the moment.
It was his luck that Killer Croc stepped on his wet map - he liked to map things out with a fancy quill and ink- and Danny had shouted, "You stupid idiot! You ruined everything!"
The three idiots had wrongly assumed he ran at the mountain of scaled muscles because of his map. Him winning and then turning to them with bloody knuckles, rage filled eyes, and a sharp grin had only made them think he planned this.
They had run home screaming that Danny was planning on killing them.
It was hilarious how many people jumped out of his way when he walked down the hallway the following days after that.
"Apparently, Phantom asked out Wayne-Fenton, and he was rejected," the girl reveals with a gasp. It's quickly followed by her own friends gasping loudly, too. "He told the Star of Gotham he wasn't good enough"
"Ugh, who does Wayne-Fenton think he is!? Just because he has swooping hair?!"
"Or that he has blue bedroom eyes and a moody demeanor!"
"And so what, if he looks good in anything he wears!?"
"I saw him in the gym once. Washboard abs. Sculpture biceps, and did I mention the abs?! He makes me sick!"
Danny rolls his eyes. So it wasn't a new hot rumor. Just a bunch of people thinking him uncool and attractive again. He picks up his tray and marches out the cafeteria, ignoring the looks that various people sent him.
Its odd to be both the hottest boy in their grade and the most disliked. But he sure the this will in time pass too. He'll just go sit outside on a hill and draw constellations by memory over the city. He misses clear skies so much....
When Danny leaves, he isn't around for various people to hear the gossiping girls and suddenly realizes how attractive he is. How could they not see it? I mean, the guy rejected The Star of Gotham! Phantom is literally one of the hottest beings in the world. They know because Phantom was rank number three in Top hottest Teen Heros.
All the girls and a good chunk of the boys had the sudden realization that.....Danny Fenton-Wayne was so hot he even made ghost blush. Wow.
Phantom receives a lot of "Emergency HeartBreak Kits" from well meaning teenager all over Gotham. A few even tried to consult him by patting his back and revealing that Fenton-Wayne held the hearts of all adolescents in the city, and all adolescents in the city only held Fenton-Wayne's pity.
Unlike his adoptive father, Fenton-Wayne was the forbidden fruit too poisonous to touch. Oh, but we're people tempted to look.
Danny graduated Gotham Academy without a single romantic relationship. No one was good enough for him
(Danny was crying on Alfred's shoulder. "Am I ugly? You have to be honest")

The campus café buzzed with low chatter, espresso machines hissing, and the occasional clink of cutlery. You stood stiffly by the counter, arms crossed, glaring at your brother like this was the last place on Earth you wanted to be. Which, to be fair, it was.
“This is dumb,” you mumbled. “I didn’t even ask to be introduced to anyone.”
Sunghoon, forever calm and unreadable, simply ignored your protests and nudged your shoulder. “She’s been asking to meet you.”
“Cool,” you deadpanned. “Tell her I said hi.”
But it was too late. A blur of pastel and energy bounded toward you, ponytail bouncing and cheeks flushed. She practically skidded to a stop in front of you, a smoothie in one hand and a cookie in the other.
“Hi! Oh my gosh, you must be Y/N!” she chirped, eyes wide with excitement.
You blinked, then gave Sunghoon the what the hell is this look.
He sighed, giving you a subtle nod. “Y/N, this is my girlfriend.”
She beamed. “Wow. He wasn’t kidding. You really are the same.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Same?”
“Yeah! All moody and mysterious. Like, no offense, but you two look like you walk through thunderstorms for fun,” she said, biting her cookie casually. “It’s kinda cute.”
You stared.
Sunghoon sighed. “I told you not to say that.”
“But it’s true!” she giggled, leaning against Sunghoon like he was her favorite pillow. “You even frown the same way. Look.”
She scrunched her brows, mocking your unimpressed expression. You couldn’t help it—you snorted. Just once. Barely.
She gasped. “Did I just make you laugh? Or was that a cough?”
You rolled your eyes. “Don’t get used to it.”
But she didn’t seem offended. If anything, her smile grew bigger. “You’re so grumpy. I love it. You’re like a cat someone tried to dress in a tutu.”
Sunghoon let out a breathy chuckle, and you turned to glare at him, betrayed.
“She’s been like this since she got here,” he said to his girlfriend. “Moved from Busan, acts like Seoul’s a crime against humanity.”
“Because it is,” you muttered. “Too many people. Too many couples. Too much sun.”
Sunghoon’s girlfriend was practically vibrating now. “Wait—you’re from Busan? That makes so much sense. You totally have the accent when you’re mad.”
“I’m not mad.”
She grinned knowingly. “Okay.”
You looked away, sipping your drink just to have an excuse not to answer. Sunghoon watched you with that usual quiet amusement, like he was used to your walls but also knew they weren’t as tall as you pretended.
“Anyway,” his girlfriend said, pulling out her phone, “I’m putting you in the group chat. The one with the rest of the girlfriends.”
Your eyes widened. “What? No.”
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow. “You should. Jay’s girlfriend is in it. So is Jake’s.”
“Oh my god, and Jungwon!” she added. “You haven’t met Jungwon yet, right? You’ll love him. He’s sunshine in human form. Literally the opposite of you. You’ll hate him. And then you’ll love him.”
You shook your head. “Please don’t.”
But she was already typing. Sunghoon looked away to hide his smile, and for a moment, you considered throwing your drink at both of them.
And yet, despite yourself… a tiny part of you didn’t hate this as much as you thought you would.
You leaned back in your chair, picking at the sleeve of your hoodie as your brother quietly scrolled through his phone. The late afternoon sun poured through the campus café windows, golden and warm, but you were too busy sulking to care.
“So,” you started, voice flat, “do all of your friends have girlfriends now or what?”
Sunghoon didn’t look up. “Pretty much.”
You scoffed. “What is this? Some campus-wide boyfriend recruitment initiative I missed?”
He side-eyed you. “You sound jealous.”
“I’m not jealous,” you snapped. “I’m just… observing. Like you always do.”
He hummed, which was the closest thing to a laugh you’d get out of him. You turned slightly in your seat to catch a glimpse of his girlfriend across the café. She was chatting animatedly with Jay’s girlfriend and giggling about something that involved a lot of hand gestures. You watched her for a second—so bright, so loud, so much.
You wrinkled your nose. “What’s so special about her, anyway? She’s so loud.”
Sunghoon didn’t say anything for a moment. Then he finally looked up from his phone and met your eyes.
“That’s what I thought at first,” he said, voice quieter now, more sincere. “But… I don’t know. She’s different.”
You raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. “Different how?”
“She makes everything feel lighter,” he said simply. “Like I don’t have to say anything and she still gets me. She’s chaos, but somehow it makes everything clearer.”
You blinked, surprised by how genuine he sounded. He wasn’t usually the type to say much about his feelings, let alone this kind of stuff.
You scoffed again, more defensive this time, and took a loud sip of your drink. “Ugh. I don’t like seeing you when you’re in love. It’s weird. Gross. I hate it.”
Sunghoon smirked and leaned back in his chair, his gaze drifting across the café toward her again.
“Yeah,” he said softly. “Me too.”
The café was bustling with soft chatter, silverware clinking, and the occasional burst of laughter. You were already halfway through your iced Americano when the bell above the door jingled.
Your eyes flicked up just in time to see a familiar face walk in—tousled hair, clean-cut uniform, a soft frown like he’d already had a long day. Jungwon.
You blinked. “Wait, is that—?”
Sunghoon’s girlfriend practically bounced out of her seat, waving him over. “Wonie! Over here!”
You turned slowly to your brother, suspicion rising in your chest. “You invited him?”
Sunghoon shook his head with a deadpan expression. “I didn’t.”
His girlfriend was already scooting over, making room next to you on the bench. Jungwon hesitated, then offered a polite nod and slid in beside you, his shoulder brushing yours.
“Hey,” he said, voice soft but clear. “Didn’t know you’d be here.”
You glanced at him, trying not to seem flustered. “Yeah, me neither.”
Sunghoon’s girlfriend leaned toward your brother and whispered into his ear with a mischievous grin, “See? Don’t they look perfect together?”
Sunghoon recoiled immediately, his whole face twisting. “I don’t wanna picture my sister and my friend together,” he muttered under his breath, disgusted.
She just giggled, clearly satisfied with herself, while Sunghoon groaned into his drink and refused to look in either of your directions.
You shifted in your seat, trying to ignore the way Jungwon’s leg brushed against yours under the table. He didn’t move away, and neither did you.
“Sorry if this is weird,” Jungwon said after a moment, glancing sideways at you, then quickly looking away. “Didn’t know they’d both plot behind our backs.”
You let out a soft scoff. “Yeah, that sounds like her.”
From across the table, Sunghoon’s girlfriend was humming to herself while stabbing a piece of cake with her fork, clearly proud of her little matchmaking scheme. Sunghoon, on the other hand, was sinking further into his seat with every passing second.
“So…” Jungwon started again, trying for casual, “how are you liking Seoul so far?”
“It’s… different,” you answered, folding your arms. “Too fast. Too loud.”
He chuckled. “Yeah, I guess it is. But not all of it’s bad, right?”
You hesitated, then shrugged. “I guess not.”
Your eyes flicked up just in time to catch your brother watching the two of you with a narrowed gaze. You raised a brow at him.
“What?” you asked, tone sharp.
He blinked. “Nothing. Just… watching you flirt.”
You nearly choked. “I’m not flirting—”
Jungwon, ever so collected, only smiled faintly and looked down at his drink, a soft pink coloring the tips of his ears.
“I swear, if you try to date one of my friends,” Sunghoon muttered, pointing a finger at you, “I will transfer schools.”
“You’re so dramatic,” you muttered under your breath.
But then you glanced back at Jungwon, who was still smiling, looking perfectly content with how the conversation was going. You couldn’t help the sarcastic edge that slipped into your voice. “Especially someone like him.”
It wasn’t meant to be as harsh as it came out. But when you saw the way his smile faltered, the subtle hurt flickering in his eyes, your heart did an unexpected twist. You hadn’t meant to hurt him—yet, there it was, hanging in the air between you.
Sunghoon nudged you roughly with his elbow, a sharp look in his eyes.
“Careful,” he warned in a low voice.
You flushed and immediately looked away, suddenly feeling guilty. Jungwon’s expression had gone unreadable, and you could practically hear the thoughts swirling in his head.
“I didn’t mean it like that,” you mumbled, softening your tone, “sorry.”
Jungwon didn’t say anything right away, just gave a small nod. His usual confident demeanor was replaced with something quieter, more distant.
The tension at the table had definitely shifted, but you didn’t know how to fix it.
Sunghoon just sighed, looking between you two. “Can you two stop making it weird?” he muttered under his breath, though it was more for your benefit than anyone else’s.
His girlfriend, ever the optimist, grinned and fed him a bite of cake. “It’s okay. They’re both just shy. But they’ll work it out.”
You barely heard her, though, because your thoughts were focused on the look in Jungwon’s eyes.
Sunghoon and his girlfriend were in their own little world, laughing and exchanging little inside jokes, completely oblivious to how their playful banter was making everyone else at the table squirm.
“I swear, if you ever stop smiling like that, I’ll—” His girlfriend’s voice was light and teasing, but Sunghoon only smiled softly, clearly used to her rambles.
“You’ll what?” Sunghoon asked, nudging her playfully.
“Make you watch another one of those romantic movies you love so much,” she threatened, a bright grin lighting up her face.
“Ah, anything but that,” he teased back, raising his hands in mock surrender. “I’m practically drowning in romance.”
His girlfriend only laughed and reached over to adjust his glasses, and Sunghoon simply let her, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. The exchange was so natural, so effortlessly affectionate that it felt almost like they were living in their own bubble, too caught up in their little world to notice anyone else around them.
“Ugh, get a room, you two,” you muttered under your breath, not at all interested in hearing about how “adorable” they were being.
Jungwon chuckled awkwardly, clearly trying to steer the conversation in a different direction. “So, uh… what’s your favorite thing to do around here? Any hidden spots in the city I should know about?”
You barely looked at him, instead fiddling with the straw in your drink, the sound of Sunghoon and his girlfriend’s laughter making your ears buzz. You really didn’t feel like talking, not when the couple next to you was being so… couple-y.
You shrugged, keeping your gaze fixed firmly on the table. “I don’t know. Just the usual stuff. I’m not really one for sightseeing.”
Jungwon pressed on, clearly not giving up yet. “But surely there’s something fun you’ve found? You seem like you’d know the best places to hang out.”
You let out a small, dismissive sigh, leaning back in your chair. “I’m really not interested in showing you around, Jungwon.”
Sunghoon’s girlfriend was still on her own tangent, going on about something utterly trivial while Sunghoon nodded along, his smile barely faltering as he glanced back at you and Jungwon.
“Are you sure you’re okay, Y/N? You’re being awfully quiet today,” she said in her bright, ever-optimistic voice.
You tried to force a smile, but it was tight, and you could feel your irritation simmering just under the surface. “I’m fine,” you muttered. “Just… tired.”
Jungwon seemed a bit taken aback by your mood but didn’t press it further, instead focusing back on his drink. Meanwhile, Sunghoon and his girlfriend were still wrapped up in their own bubble of cute moments, exchanging playful glances and quiet words that only seemed to make the atmosphere feel even more suffocating.
You didn’t understand how they could be so effortlessly happy, so comfortable with each other. Sunghoon was always so calm, so distant to everyone, but with her, he was… different.
“Don’t you think they’re a bit much?” you muttered under your breath, barely audible, but enough for Jungwon to hear.
Jungwon hesitated, looking between you and the couple before shrugging. “Maybe,” he said carefully, “but if they’re happy, then what’s the harm?”
“Right,” you muttered, trying to hide the bitterness creeping into your voice. “Good for them.”
Jungwon gave you a sideways glance, his smile a little more unsure now. “You seem really upset. Want to talk about it?”
You shook your head, feeling the discomfort in your chest grow. “No. I don’t want to talk about it.”
Jungwon seemed to understand that you weren’t in the mood for more conversation, but his quiet attempts to make small talk were starting to feel more forced as the minutes dragged on. Meanwhile, Sunghoon and his girlfriend’s voices only grew louder, completely lost in their own happiness as they continued their affectionate back-and-forth.
You felt a twinge of jealousy. You hadn’t been able to experience that kind of closeness or affection with anyone—certainly not with Jungwon, and not with anyone else before. It irritated you how easily Sunghoon seemed to slip into that comfortable, happy state with his girlfriend, making you wonder if you could ever find something like that yourself.
But for now, you were stuck here, watching them, and avoiding any attempts at real conversation from Jungwon.
As Sunghoon and his girlfriend stood up from the bench, her hands instinctively finding his as they gathered their stuff, she glanced one more time at where you and Jungwon sat—him politely sipping his drink, you staring pointedly at anything that wasn’t him.
“We should get going,” she murmured to Sunghoon. “Didn’t you say you had that meeting thing later?”
Sunghoon nodded, throwing one last glance toward you before gently tugging his girlfriend toward the exit. The two of them walked side by side down the garden path, the sunlight catching in her hair and the breeze tugging at the sleeves of Sunghoon’s hoodie.
Once they were a little out of earshot, his girlfriend turned to him, voice low and curious. “So… is your sister always like that?”
Sunghoon sighed through his nose, glancing over his shoulder before answering. “Yeah. Especially around people who are in love.”
His girlfriend blinked, then tilted her head, genuinely concerned. “Why? Is she, like… bitter about it or something?”
Sunghoon hesitated, then leaned closer, lowering his voice. “I’m not really supposed to be telling you this,” he muttered. “But someone she really loved cheated on her. Like, full-on betrayed her. She’s never really been the same after that.”
His girlfriend’s eyes softened. “Oh…”
“And the other half of it?” he added, smiling faintly. “She’s like me. She keeps things in. But instead of being quiet and polite about it, she turns into a little grump.”
They both laughed softly at that, their steps in sync as they neared the sidewalk.
“But I mean…” she nudged him lightly, a playful glint in her eye. “What about Jungwon? I don’t know—don’t they look kinda cute together?”
Sunghoon groaned immediately, dragging a hand over his face. “Babe, please. I don’t wanna hear it.”
“What?” she laughed, looping her arm through his. “I’m just saying! Come on, they just met, but—”
“They just met in person today,” he emphasized. “They don’t even know each other.”
“Exactly! That’s how it starts!”
Sunghoon gave her a dry look. “You’re lucky I like you.”
She giggled and leaned up to kiss his cheek. “I know. And I know love when I see it, Hoon. Trust me.”
He rolled his eyes, but the corners of his mouth betrayed him with the slightest upward tug. “Just don’t play matchmaker. I don’t think either of them would survive it.”
“Noted,” she grinned. “But if they fall in love on their own, I will say ‘I told you so.’”
Sunghoon groaned again, tugging her along as they disappeared down the street. First day of school and you already wanted to go home.
Everything about the campus felt off—too bright, too noisy, too… full of people smiling for no reason. Sunghoon’s girlfriend had insisted on showing you around, practically skipping through the corridors like this was her favorite place in the world. You trailed behind her like a raincloud, unimpressed by every building she pointed out.
“And this is the student center! Oh, and that’s the little garden where Sunghoon and I first—”
“Don’t care,” you muttered, eyes flicking away.
She just laughed, clearly used to your deadpan tone by now. “You’re going to love it here. Promise.”
You already knew you wouldn’t.
By lunch, you were desperately scanning the cafeteria for any possible corner to disappear into. You even spotted an empty table by the window—peace, solitude, the dream. But before you could escape, Sunghoon materialized out of nowhere and threw an arm around your shoulder.
“C’mon,” he said flatly. “Sit with us.”
“I’d rather swallow a fork.”
His grip tightened just slightly. “Let’s go.”
So now you were here, wedged between your brother and an empty chair, staring blankly at the loudest table on campus. Jake and his girlfriend were whispering and giggling over some inside joke. Jay’s girlfriend was mid-rant about something academic while Jay leaned back smugly, looking like he invented confidence. Heeseung was playfully bickering with his girlfriend over bubble tea flavors. Jungwon sat across from you, awkward and quiet, stealing glances your way like he wasn’t sure if you’d bite.
You glanced sideways at Sunghoon.
He glanced at you.
Same expression. Blank. Mildly judging. Deeply unimpressed.
The only sound from your side of the table was the soft tap of chopsticks and synchronized sighs.
Sunoo blinked at the two of you from across the table and dramatically clutched his chest.
“Oh my god,” he gasped. “That’s actually kind of terrifying. You two look like serial killers at brunch.”
Jake snorted into his drink. “No, for real. Why are y’all staring like that?”
Sunghoon answered without even blinking. “We’re trying to understand how you all function.”
You didn’t say anything. Just raised a brow, slowly picking at your food.
Jungwon coughed into his hand. “So… do you like the school so far?”
You didn’t even bother looking at him. “No.”
Silence fell over that end of the table while everyone else resumed their conversations. You and Sunghoon returned to your synchronized eating and judging.
Sunoo whispered to Jake, “This is my favorite horror movie.”
Jake nodded. “Same.”
Jungwon tried again.
“So, um…” he said, shifting a little in his seat. “What did you study back in Busan?”
You didn’t even lift your head. “Stuff.”
Sunghoon barely held in a snort beside you, and Jungwon let out a quiet breath like he’d just been elbowed in the ribs.
Jake, ever the peacekeeper, tried to help. “She’s just shy, bro. Takes a while to warm up.”
“I’m not shy,” you muttered. “I just don’t feel like talking.”
Sunoo’s eyes sparkled with amusement. “She’s like if Wednesday Addams and a sleep-deprived cat had a baby.”
You finally looked up at him with the blankest stare you could muster. “I will replace your shampoo with glue.”
Sunoo gasped, scandalized. “Sunghoon, your sister threatened me!”
“She does that,” he said calmly, sipping from his drink.
Meanwhile, Sunghoon’s girlfriend was busy telling Heeseung’s girlfriend about a new nail salon when her gaze flicked to you and Jungwon again. She nudged Sunghoon under the table.
He blinked. “No.”
“You didn’t even hear what I was going to say.”
“Yes, I did. And it’s still no.”
“They’d be so cute together!”
“No.”
“You’re so grumpy sometimes,” she huffed, crossing her arms.
“You’re just loud,” he muttered.
“I heard that!”
You rolled your eyes and shoved a fry into your mouth just as Jungwon finally stopped trying to talk. He tapped nervously at his tray, eyes flicking down to his food. You could feel his awkwardness radiating in waves.
And you hated how it made your chest tighten a little.
The table broke into laughter at something Jake said, and you just sat there in the calm middle of it all—quiet, grumpy, unimpressed. But for the first time that day, you weren’t desperate to leave.
Which was weird. But maybe you could blame it on the way Jungwon kept sneaking glances your way.
Even if you didn’t return them. Yet.
Jungwon had that look again. The one that made you want to throw a pillow at his face and storm out of the room for no reason other than how… bright he was.
“Let’s go camping,” he said, plopping down on the couch next to where you were curled up, minding your own business with a book you were only half-reading. “Like a group trip. All of us.”
You blinked at him, slowly. “Why would I voluntarily spend a weekend in the woods with mosquitoes, uneven ground, and people?”
He grinned, undeterred. “Because it’s fun. And because you clearly need to loosen up a little.”
You narrowed your eyes. “Excuse me?”
“You’re always cooped up in your dorm or hiding behind Sunghoon or glaring at everyone during lunch,” he said matter-of-factly, like he hadn’t just signed his own death warrant. “It wouldn’t kill you to try being part of the group.”
Sunghoon, from the kitchen, muttered, “She only goes to lunch because I drag her there.”
“Exactly my point!” Jungwon exclaimed, pointing at your brother like he’d just proven something. “C’mon, Y/N. It’ll be nice. Campfire, s’mores, nature… friends.”
You stared at him. That smile of his, the one that curved just a little more on the right side, the soft crinkles at the corners of his eyes, the way he was so annoyingly earnest—it made something in your chest itch.
“No.”
“Please?”
“No.”
“You can bring a portable fan and three cans of bug spray. I’ll even carry your stuff.”
“I said no.”
He tilted his head. “Are you scared you’ll actually have a good time?”
You shut your book with a snap. “You’re insufferable.”
“I’ll take that as a maybe.”
“You’ll take it as a no.”
“Sunoo’s going.”
You hesitated.
“And Jake. And Jay. And Sunghoon and his girlfriend. Heeseung and his girlfriend said they’ll come if there’s a real bathroom.”
You looked at him, unimpressed. “You planned this already.”
Jungwon smiled, victorious. “I had faith.”
You sighed, long and dramatic, flopping back against the couch. “Fine. I’ll go. Just to get you off my back.”
“Yay!” he said, like you’d just agreed to world peace.
“But if there’s a single spider—one—I’m leaving.”
He held up three fingers. “Scout’s honor.”
“You’ve never been a scout.”
“Still counts.”
You rolled your eyes, but a small, reluctant smile tugged at your lips when he wasn’t looking.
Spring break hit with the kind of anticipation that had the entire campus buzzing. People were packing bags, coordinating snack lists, fighting over which playlist to use for the drive. It was chaos—in a way that made you want to crawl back under your blankets and pretend the world didn’t exist. But unfortunately, Jungwon’s persistence and your impulsive “Fine, I’ll go” had landed you a spot on this cursed trip.
Everyone was gathered in front of the parking lot early that morning, chattering, yawning, stretching. The two rented vans were parked side by side, engines rumbling quietly as everyone shuffled around trying to load their bags.
You crossed your arms and looked up at Sunghoon. “I’m riding in your van.”
He barely looked up from where he was loading his girlfriend’s duffel into the trunk. “No, you’re not.”
You blinked. “Excuse me?”
He finally turned to face you, already exasperated. “Y/N, we’re each sharing a van with our girlfriends.”
You gestured to yourself, deadpan. “I am your sister.”
“Not the same thing.”
“You’re telling me you’d rather spend three hours crammed in a van with Jake and Sunoo talking about anime character types while your girlfriend sings along to every song off key—”
“Yes.”
You scowled. “Wow. What happened to blood being thicker than water?”
His girlfriend popped her head out from the side of the van, smile already in place. “Don’t worry, Y/N! I already packed snacks for you and I think you’re with Jungwon anyway.”
“What?”
Jungwon appeared behind you like some overly peppy ghost. “Morning! I put your bag in our van already. We’ve got good air conditioning, just saying.”
You turned to glare at him. “You what?”
Sunoo clapped dramatically from a few feet away. “Ooooh, you’re sharing with Jungwon? This is either the start of a rom-com or a disaster film.”
“I vote disaster,” you muttered under your breath.
Sunghoon gave your shoulder a pat as he slid into the driver’s seat. “Try not to murder anyone.”
You huffed, trudging toward the second van where Jungwon was already opening your door like some boy-next-door prince. He even had a thermos in hand—probably green tea or some healthy crap. You didn’t ask.
“I didn’t agree to share a van with you,” you grumbled, climbing in.
Jungwon just buckled in and smiled. “Well, you didn’t not agree either.”
You stared out the window, jaw tight. This trip was already feeling too long… and the engine hadn’t even started yet.
The vans were all packed, the skies were mostly clear, and it almost felt like things were going to go according to plan. Keyword: almost.
Jake stood beside Van 1, arms crossed, lips pursed as he eyed the group assignments one last time. “Okay, but I still think it’s a terrible idea to put Heeseung and Jay in the same van.”
Jay’s girlfriend, ever the chaos advocate, waved her hand dismissively. “They need to make up. This is the perfect chance. Think of it as forced bonding.”
Heeseung snorted from behind her. “More like forced suffering.”
Sunoo popped his head up from the back of Van 1, cheeks stuffed with snacks. “Can I switch vans? I’ll go with Jungwon and Y/N. I’m great company!”
“No,” you and Jungwon both said at the exact same time.
Sunoo blinked, then smirked. “Wow. Okay. Guess I’ll just keep my charisma to myself.”
You shot Jungwon a glare, but he was already climbing into the driver’s seat of your van—Van 3, aka the loner van. AKA you and him, stuck together for a few hours while the rest of your brother’s chaotic group pretended to function like normal humans.
You didn’t even have time to say goodbye to Sunghoon before Jungwon was already pulling out of the parking lot.
The ride started out in silence. Then music. Then more silence.
It was about twenty minutes into the drive when Jungwon finally broke the quiet.
“So… you probably feel a little out of place, huh?” he said, keeping his eyes on the road.
You shrugged, arms crossed. “You think?”
He chuckled. “Okay, fair. I just mean… they’re a lot to take in.”
“You don’t say.”
“Well,” he said, shifting in his seat, “you’ve probably figured out who’s dating who, right?”
“I’m not blind.”
“Alright. So Van 1—Sunghoon, Jake, their girlfriends, and Sunoo. The stable van.”
You raised a brow. “Sunoo’s the stability?”
“Don’t underestimate Sunoo,” Jungwon said seriously. “He knows everything. I’m pretty sure he could run this school if he wanted to.”
You snorted. “Next.”
“Van 2,” Jungwon said with a grin. “The drama van. Jay, Heeseung, their girlfriends. Basically a soap opera on wheels.”
You glanced at him. “Why? What happened?”
He glanced sideways, then said, “Well… Jay and Heeseung used to be close, until Jay kissed Heeseung’s girlfriend.”
Your jaw dropped.
“Twice,” Jungwon added helpfully. “Once before she and Heeseung were dating, and once after. But Jay swears she kissed him the second time, and she admits to it, but Heeseung won’t let it go.”
You blinked. “And now Jay is dating someone else?”
“Oh yeah. She’s just as chaotic as he is. They’re the perfect match. But she’s also childhood best friends with Heeseung, so it’s awkward all around.”
“Yikes.”
He nodded. “Exactly. That’s why Jake wanted to separate them. But Jay’s girlfriend was like ‘they need to make up’ and dragged them into the same van anyway.”
You let out a low whistle. “No wonder Sunoo wanted to escape.”
Jungwon laughed, and the air settled into something a little more comfortable after that. He explained more as the road wound on—tiny dramas, moments of laughter, stories you’d missed being the new one in the group.
But about an hour in, things took a turn.
The sky darkened suddenly, clouds rolling in like something out of a horror movie. The rain started slowly—just a patter on the windshield—but quickly turned heavy, pelting down so hard Jungwon had to slow to a crawl.
“Uh,” you said, glancing out the fogged window, “should we… pull over?”
“We’re almost at the rest stop,” Jungwon muttered, eyes squinting against the blur. “Just a few more minutes—”
Thud.
The van jolted.
You both froze.
“…Please tell me that wasn’t a tire,” you whispered.
Jungwon sighed, already pulling over. “That was a tire.”
He hopped out into the rain, grabbing his jacket as the wind howled. You stayed in the van, cold seeping into your skin even as the heater ran.
Ten minutes passed. Then fifteen. Then twenty. Finally, he ducked back inside, soaked and shivering.
“It’s too dark,” he muttered. “I can’t see anything, and my phone’s got no signal. We’ll have to wait till morning.”
You stared at him. “You’re telling me we’re stuck here? In a van? In the middle of nowhere? Alone?”
He looked sheepish. “Pretty much.”
You sat back, heart racing.
And for the first time that day, you were truly terrified.
You were shaken. Even though you sat with your arms folded tightly across your chest, eyes glued to the pitch-black forest outside the rain-speckled window, your body was stiff—too still. You didn’t say anything, didn’t make a sound, but Jungwon noticed. He always noticed.
Without a word, he shifted beside you in the front seat of the van, then gently wrapped an arm around your shoulders. His touch wasn’t overbearing or awkward. It was quiet, like him. Patient. Warm.
“You’re not okay,” he murmured.
“I’m fine,” you muttered.
“You’re lying.”
You didn’t argue, because he wasn’t wrong. But you didn’t respond either.
A silence stretched between you, filled only by the steady tapping of rain on the windshield and the occasional creak of the van shifting under the wind. The dark had settled in deep now, wrapping around the vehicle like a second skin.
“I hate being stuck,” you finally said, your voice low. “I hate not knowing what’s going to happen. I hate not having a signal, not knowing where we are—feeling like I’m not in control.”
Jungwon gave your shoulder a soft squeeze. “Yeah… I figured.”
You fell silent again, until he nudged you gently and said, “Okay. Tell me something your brother did that was so extroverted and humiliating that no one else besides you knows about it.”
You blinked, caught off guard. “What?”
“Come on. Distract yourself. Something Sunghoon did. Spill.”
A reluctant laugh slipped out of you, and Jungwon’s grin widened.
“He once got on stage during orientation week and did a full dance cover of Love Divebecause someone dared him,” you mumbled. “And he actually nailed it.”
“Love Dive? Seriously?” Jungwon tried to suppress a laugh, and failed. “No way.”
“He practiced for three days. I have a video.”
He let out a sharp breath of laughter and leaned his head back against the seat. “Okay, yeah, that helped. I’m feeling better already.”
You smiled, just barely, the tension starting to melt off your shoulders. You almost forgot about the storm outside, the flat tire, the cold. Almost.
Until a sharp crack of thunder split through the sky.
You jumped—physically flinched—and before you could stop yourself, you scooted closer to Jungwon, pressing into his side like instinct. His arm immediately tightened around you, steadying, grounding.
“I’ve got you,” he whispered, softer this time. “You’re okay.”
And somehow, sitting there with him in the dark, you believed it.
After a while, the front seats of the van started to feel cold and cramped, and Jungwon, sensing your growing discomfort, suggested quietly, “We can pull out the bed in the back… might be warmer there.”
You didn’t answer, but you nodded, following him as he climbed out of the front. He moved slowly, giving you space but also staying close enough to reach if you needed him. Together, you helped tug the folded bed out from its compartment, laying it flat and spreading one of the extra blankets over it.
You sat beside him on the makeshift mattress, legs tucked underneath you, hands buried in your sleeves. The van wasn’t exactly spacious, but the bed was wide enough to sit shoulder-to-shoulder without brushing—barely.
The rain still drummed steadily on the roof, creating a rhythm that was both soothing and unnerving. You hated storms. Always had.
Then, like the sky had waited for your guard to come down, lightning struck again. Closer this time—followed by a crack so loud the whole van seemed to rattle. You gasped sharply and before you even knew what you were doing, you threw yourself toward Jungwon.
Your hands gripped his hoodie, your body curling into his lap as if you could disappear there, your breath coming in short, panicked puffs. You hated this—how vulnerable you suddenly felt, how raw and open your fear was—but your body didn’t listen to your pride. It just needed safety. Warmth. Him.
Jungwon didn’t say a word. He didn’t tease, didn’t even shift awkwardly. His arms came around you immediately, holding you close like he’d done this a thousand times before. One hand rubbed gentle, soothing circles into your back while the other rested lightly on the back of your head.
Then you started crying.
Not the messy, heaving sobs you’d always imagined people cried when breaking down—but the quiet kind. The kind that slipped down your cheeks without permission, burning and soft. You couldn’t remember the last time you cried in front of someone else.
“I hate this,” you whispered into his hoodie. “I hate feeling like this.”
“I know,” he whispered back. “But you don’t have to pretend with me, okay? Just for tonight… it’s okay to be scared.”
You don’t know how long you stayed like that—wrapped in Jungwon’s arms, eyes closed against the world, tears drying slowly. The storm eventually began to calm. The thunder faded to distant rumbles, and the rain softened into a drizzle.
Then, with an almost comical sputter, the van’s power flickered back on. The dashboard lights glowed faintly. The heater whirred to life. And just like that, reality came rushing back in.
You blinked and pulled away slowly, only to freeze as you realized where you were: practically curled in Jungwon’s lap, your arms still wrapped around him, your cheek resting against his chest.
You moved quickly, almost too quickly, scooting back and wiping your face with your sleeve. The silence that followed was heavy—awkward and thick and way too loud now that the storm had passed.
“I—sorry,” you mumbled, avoiding his eyes. “That was… a lot.”
Jungwon shifted too, but not far. “It’s okay,” he said softly. “Really.”
But you didn’t know how to feel. You weren’t used to people seeing you like that. Especially not someone like him.
And now, sitting side by side in the faint light, with your tears still damp on your skin and the ghost of his touch lingering on your back, you suddenly weren’t sure what scared you more—the storm outside… or the one happening inside you.
The rain had finally stopped, but that didn’t mean you were out of the woods. Literally.
It was 2:07 AM, and the van was still parked on the side of some empty, winding road surrounded by nothing but trees and thick silence. The air inside was warmer now thanks to the heater, but that didn’t fix the flat tire—or the awkwardness hanging heavy between you and Jungwon after what had just happened.
You sat cross-legged on the bed, facing the window, pretending to be way more interested in the foggy glass than the fact that you were very much aware of Jungwon’s presence just a few feet behind you. He was still sitting up against the back of the van, legs stretched out, fiddling absently with the zipper on his jacket.
Neither of you had spoken much since the power came back on. A few quiet “you okay?”s and mumbled “yeah”s, but beyond that? Just tension.
He glanced over at you for what felt like the hundredth time. “So… uh. Still no signal.”
“Shocker,” you muttered, not turning around.
“We’ll fix the tire at sunrise. I can’t see anything in the dark without messing it up more.”
“Mhm.”
Silence again.
You hated this. Not just the situation, but how… exposed you still felt. You hadn’t meant to cry in front of him. You hadn’t meant to let him hold you. And now, it was like that moment had cracked something open, and you didn’t know how to patch it back up.
Jungwon cleared his throat. “Do you want the bed to yourself? I can sleep sitting up or something.”
“No. It’s fine.”
“You sure?”
You finally turned to face him, eyes meeting his. “Can you just… not make it a thing?”
He blinked. “What?”
“Earlier. The crying. The whole… mess. Just don’t make it a thing, okay? I don’t need you looking at me like I’m fragile now.”
Jungwon’s expression softened. “I don’t think you’re fragile. I think you’re human.”
You rolled your eyes, turning back toward the window. “Great. Even worse.”
He let out a quiet laugh, barely audible. “You know, for someone who pretends not to care about people, you sure care a lot about what I think.”
Your lips pressed into a tight line. He wasn’t wrong—but you weren’t about to admit that.
“It’s late,” you said instead. “We should try to sleep.”
You heard him shift behind you, and then the quiet rustle of blankets as he laid down on the far side of the bed, careful to leave space between you.
But even with the silence returning and your body exhausted, sleep didn’t come easy. Not when your brain was still replaying the way his arms had felt around you. Not when every beat of the clock brought you closer to morning—and whatever would come after this strange, vulnerable night you never meant to share.
The hours ticked by slowly, stretching the night into something that felt endless.
The space between you and Jungwon wasn’t very big. The bed was narrow, the van cold despite the heater humming faintly, and somewhere between turning to face the wall and trying to ignore how your thoughts spiraled, you realized you weren’t sleeping at all. Neither was he.
You could tell by the way he shifted every few minutes, quietly clearing his throat or sighing like he was trying not to seem restless. Finally, at around 3:15 AM, his voice cut through the stillness—soft, careful.
“Hey.”
You turned your head slightly. “What?”
“Can I ask you something?”
You hesitated. “…Yeah.”
“When you said you’re scared of being emotionally dependent on people… was that about someone specific?”
You stared at the ceiling. You weren’t sure why your chest tightened at the question. Maybe because you’d let that confession slip too easily earlier. Maybe because this was the first time someone actually followed up instead of brushing it off.
You swallowed. “Not just one person. More like… a pattern.”
He didn’t say anything for a moment. Then, gently: “Like what?”
“Like I used to trust people. I’d let them in, even when it hurt. And each time, it ended with me being the only one trying to fix things.” You paused, fingers curling slightly into the blanket. “At some point, I just stopped trying.”
Jungwon shifted closer—not enough to touch, but enough to feel it.
“I’m not trying to ‘fix’ you,” he said quietly. “I just want to understand you.”
Your breath hitched slightly.
“And I know you don’t like being seen,” he added, almost like an afterthought. “But you don’t have to hide around me.”
You didn’t know what to say to that. So you didn’t say anything.
Instead, you turned your body slightly toward him. Not enough to close the distance completely—but enough that he’d know you weren’t shutting him out.
Minutes passed in silence again. But it wasn’t awkward anymore.
At 4:00 AM, the sky outside started to shift, a faint grey creeping into the edges of the horizon. You were still awake, and so was he.
Jungwon sat up first, running a hand through his hair. “It’s almost light enough. I’ll check the tire.”
You nodded sleepily, rubbing your eyes. “Okay. I’ll… come with you?”
He turned back to look at you, his gaze soft but steady. “Only if you want to.”
You gave a small nod, pulling the blanket tighter around you for a second before kicking it off and sliding off the bed.
It was quiet again, but something had changed between you—like a wire had loosened. Maybe things wouldn’t go back to the way they were. Maybe you didn’t want them to.
The air was crisp when you stepped out of the van, the ground still damp from the night before. Dew clung to the grass and your shoes squelched lightly against the earth, but the storm had passed. A faint mist curled in the distance, and the sun hadn’t quite broken over the trees yet—just a soft blue-gray glow painted the horizon.
Jungwon crouched by the flat tire, flashlight wedged under his arm as he examined it. You stood beside him with your arms crossed tightly, partly from the chill and partly because… well, what else were you supposed to do? Last night had been—something. Too much, maybe. And even though he hadn’t brought it up, you could feel the weight of it still lingering between you.
“Looks like it’ll hold until we get to a service station,” he muttered, brushing his hands off on his jeans. “I just need to switch it out with the spare.”
“Need help?” you offered, voice still hoarse from barely sleeping.
He looked up at you and smiled—not that smug, teasing smile he usually wore around you, but something small and warm. “You offering to actually help me instead of glaring at me? Must be a special day.”
You rolled your eyes, but your lips twitched. “Don’t push it.”
Still, you knelt beside him and passed him tools when he asked, watching him work quickly and efficiently. By the time the spare tire was secured and you were both sitting on the bumper catching your breath, the sun had finally peeked through the trees.
“Thanks,” Jungwon said quietly.
You glanced over. “For what?”
“For… trusting me,” he said. “Even a little.”
You looked away, watching your breath fog in the cool morning air. “Don’t get used to it.”
He chuckled, not pushing further. “Okay.”
Another pause, then he added, “Do you think they noticed we were gone?”
You groaned. “Probably.”
Jungwon smirked. “Should we lie and say we were attacked by bears?”
You gave him a flat look. “That’s so specific.”
He shrugged. “You never know. Might make us more interesting.”
“You’re already interesting,” you said before you could stop yourself.
You both blinked.
Silence.
“…Forget I said that,” you mumbled, turning away.
But Jungwon was smiling again—bright, proud, but not teasing this time. “Too late.”
And when you both climbed back into the van and started the engine, there was still silence—but it was softer now, like a thread connecting the two of you had finally begun to tie itself together. Not forced. Not rushed. Just… a start.
The campsite buzzed with the sounds of life when you and Jungwon finally pulled in. Laughter echoed through the trees, smoke curled lazily from a fire pit where someone was trying to get breakfast started, and Jake was playing some acoustic guitar on a log while his girlfriend swayed beside him.
You had barely stepped out of the van, stretching your stiff limbs, when Sunoo boltedacross the campsite like a heat-seeking missile.
“Oh. My. God,” he gasped, eyes bouncing between you and Jungwon. “You guys were gone all night. ALL NIGHT. I swear to God, if this is a slow-burn friends-to-lovers enemies-to-lovers surprise-romance situation and you didn’t tell me, I’m going to explode.”
You blinked. “What—”
“Did you guys fuck?” Sunoo blurted, voice way too loud.
Everyone turned.
Jungwon nearly choked on air. “SUNOO!”
You grabbed the nearest camping chair and flung a towel over your face. “We did NOT!”
“Well,” Sunoo huffed, crossing his arms. “With that much chemistry, I’m just saying—”
“Sunoo,” you gritted out through clenched teeth.
He raised his hands in surrender. “Fine, fine, I’ll stop. For now.” But the sparkle in his eyes said he absolutely would not be letting it go.
While you tried to pretend you didn’t just become the headline of the group’s gossip board, Jungwon drifted over to the edge of the campsite where Sunghoon was helping his girlfriend unload a cooler from the car.
Sunghoon noticed him coming and immediately groaned. “No.”
Jungwon blinked. “No what?”
“No to whatever you’re about to say.”
“I didn’t even say anything yet,” Jungwon said, exasperated. “I just—look, I really like your sister.”
“Ew.” Sunghoon looked genuinely distressed. “Ew, stop. Go away.”
“I’m serious,” Jungwon said, trying to keep his voice low and calm. “I’m not messing with her. I just… I want your blessing to ask her out.”
Sunghoon paused. Stared. Then deadpanned, “No.”
Jungwon nodded slowly, lips twitching. “Okay. Well… I actually don’t need your blessing. I was just being polite.”
Sunghoon stared harder. “You little—”
But his girlfriend came up behind him, slipping her arms around his waist and whispering something into his ear. He grumbled under his breath, scowled at Jungwon one more time, and then turned away.
Which Jungwon took as his cue to walk off, hiding the satisfied smirk on his face.
You, meanwhile, were still dodging Sunoo’s very detailed reenactment of how he imagined the night went down.
Yeah. Spring break was off to a great start.
The rest of the day moved in a weird haze of tension and pretending like the night before hadn’t happened.
You avoided Jungwon. Not in a dramatic way—just enough that you didn’t have to look at him for too long. Just enough that when he laughed with the others by the fire, your eyes would skip past him like he was just another log in the pile. Just enough that every time he glanced your way, you quickly turned back to your marshmallow, pretending to be way too focused on roasting it to golden-brown perfection.
Sunoo didn’t make it any easier.
“You know,” he said, flopping down beside you with a very loud crunch of gravel, “for someone who didn’t do anything, you two are acting real suspicious.”
“Sunoo,” you warned, “if you say one more thing—”
“I’m just saying!” He threw up his hands dramatically. “If I were trapped in a van during a thunderstorm with someone as emotionally constipated as Jungwon, I’d cry too.”
You shoved his shoulder lightly, but the corner of your mouth twitched upward.
Meanwhile, across the fire, Jungwon was deep in conversation with Jay’s girlfriend, who was nodding enthusiastically while pointing toward a picnic table. He looked more relaxed now, laughing softly, shaking his head at something she said.
And still, he glanced over at you.
Again.
You turned away, heart twisting a little.
When the sun began to dip, casting streaks of orange and pink across the sky, someone suggested games. Charades. Then Uno. Then some weird camping version of spin the bottle that you absolutely refused to play.
Heeseung and his girlfriend were the first ones to bow out, heading toward their tent after a playful argument about who knows what. Jay and his girlfriend were in their own world, laughing so loudly it echoed through the trees. Jake and his girlfriend cuddling by the fire. Sunghoon was trying to keep his girlfriend from jumping into the lake at night.
And you?
You were sitting beside Sunoo again, who had finally—finally—gone quiet, head resting on your shoulder as he dozed off.
That’s when Jungwon walked up.
His voice was quiet. “Can we talk?”
You didn’t move at first. Just stared at the fire.
Then slowly, you stood. Gently nudging Sunoo off you, you followed Jungwon toward the edge of the clearing, just far enough away to not be overheard, just close enough to still feel the warmth of the group.
He rubbed the back of his neck. “So… are we just gonna pretend last night didn’t happen?”
You swallowed. “I don’t know.”
“I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable,” he said softly. “That wasn’t— I just knew you were scared. I didn’t want you to feel like you had to hold it all in.”
You looked away. “I don’t want to be someone’s challenge.”
“You’re not,” he said quickly. “I swear, you’re not. I don’t want to fix you. I just… I like you. Grumpiness and all. You don’t have to act okay around me. I’d rather have you yell at me and mean it than smile and fake it.”
Your eyes met his. He looked… honest.
It scared you.
So you said the first thing that came to mind. “Sunghoon’s gonna kill you.”
Jungwon smiled. “He already tried.”
You didn’t smile back—yet—but the corners of your lips twitched.
After the camping trip, everything seemed fine at first. The days passed, and you and Jungwon were a little less awkward around each other. You both would talk here and there, but it wasn’t like before—when you could barely stand being in the same room without pretending to not notice his gaze. It was comfortable in a way, like the distance between the two of you had shrunk a little.
The trip had brought something out of you that you hadn’t been ready for, but at least it wasn’t as terrible as you thought it would be. You’d even laughed a few times, exchanged some stories, and you might’ve even caught yourself smiling—genuinely smiling—when he said something funny.
But as soon as you heard it, it felt like all the progress you had made came crashing down around you.
You were in the common room of your dorm, just finishing a group project, when you overheard a conversation between Jungwon and Sunoo.
“I think I’m finally getting through to her,” Jungwon said, his voice lighter than it had been the past few days. “She’s not as cold as she used to be.”
Sunoo’s voice responded, teasing. “Well, it’s about time. She’s hard to crack, but you’ve got this.”
Your heart sank. The words hit harder than you expected. It was a stupid thing to be hurt over, but it felt like you were just a project to him. Another challenge to overcome. Just another box to check off, another thing to fix. Like you were something he needed to conquer and not someone he was genuinely trying to understand.
You thought you had found something real in the small, quiet moments between the two of you—when he’d make you laugh, or when you’d share stories that made you feel a little less like a closed-off puzzle. But now, it all felt fake. You weren’t a challenge. You weren’t his damn project. And maybe, just maybe, that’s what had made you start pulling away in the first place. You weren’t ready to be the thing he worked on. Not when it felt like you were just part of his “I need to fix you” list.
You turned away quickly, trying to push the sting out of your chest as you grabbed your things and walked to your room. The tightness in your chest only grew as you closed the door behind you. You didn’t even give yourself a second to think before you did it: you took your phone out and deleted his number.
You couldn’t look at it anymore. Couldn’t keep seeing his name lighting up your screen. You stopped answering his texts. Ignored his calls. Every notification from him felt like a weight on your shoulders, reminding you that you were just another challenge, just another project to him.
And as much as you hated it, you did the same with everyone else. You didn’t reply to Sunghoon’s texts about your plans for the day, didn’t show up for the usual hangouts with your brother and his friends. You couldn’t bear the idea of seeing them and having them ask where Jungwon was. Where things stood. You didn’t want to answer any of their questions. You didn’t want to be reminded that you had let yourself fall for someone who had probably never taken you seriously.
You didn’t even bother showing up to the study sessions anymore. Every day felt like it was getting harder to keep pretending everything was fine when your mind was so tangled with anger and confusion.
Spring break ended, and with it, the brief but quiet connection you had with Jungwon. He was busy now, the semester starting again. But even as the first day of uni came, you found yourself missing the comfort of those small moments. The awkwardness. The laughs. His presence. But it was too late now. It didn’t matter.
At least that’s what you told yourself every time you ignored his message or silenced his call.
You hadn’t expected Sunghoon to show up at your dorm. Not with his hoodie half-on and a scowl already forming between his brows. He didn’t say anything at first, just stepped inside like he owned the place and dropped his bag on your bed with a thud.
“What’s wrong with you?” he asked, not accusing—just concerned. And that somehow made it worse.
You didn’t mean to say it, not right away. But it all came spilling out anyway. The overheard conversation. The words Jungwon had said. The way it felt like you’d been nothing more than a challenge to him. Something to break through and fix. The way you hated how it hurt.
Sunghoon sat through the whole thing, jaw clenching tighter with every word you said. When you finally fell quiet, his hands were already fisted at his sides.
“He said what?” he snapped, already standing. “That idiot. I swear—”
“Hoon, don’t—” you started, but he was already out the door.
It didn’t take long for him to find Jungwon. He always had a radar for people he wanted to scold.
Jungwon blinked when he saw Sunghoon marching toward him across the quad, his voice sharp before he even fully reached him. “What the hell did you say to her?”
Jungwon’s face fell. “Wait, she heard that?”
“Oh, so you did say it.” Sunghoon’s eyes narrowed.
“It’s not what it sounds like,” Jungwon said quickly. “I didn’t mean it like that. I wasn’t trying to say she was a challenge—God, no. I was telling Sunoo that I finally felt like she was starting to trust me. I was happy. I wasn’t—”
Sunghoon didn’t look convinced.
“I like her,” Jungwon said, more firmly now. “Not because she’s hard to read, not because she’s a mystery or whatever. I like her because… she makes everything make sense. She’s quiet, but when she talks, it matters. And when she looks at me like I’m not completely annoying, it makes my day.”
Sunghoon exhaled and rubbed a hand down his face. “Just fix it. And don’t make her cry again. I mean it.”
Later that evening, there was a knock at your dorm door.
You weren’t going to answer it—until you heard his voice, low and quiet.
“It’s me.”
You opened the door a crack. Jungwon stood there holding your favorite snack in one hand, and in the other, a worn-out poetry book you had mentioned once when you were half-asleep in the van during the camping trip.
“I know you’re mad,” he said softly. “But can I come in? Just for a second?”
You let the door swing open.
He stepped inside, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck. “I’m sorry. For what I said to Sunoo. For how it sounded. I didn’t mean it like that, I swear. I didn’t think you’d hear it, but that doesn’t mean it was okay to say.”
You stayed quiet, arms crossed, watching him.
“I talk about you because I like you,” he continued. “Not because I want to win you, or fix you, or prove anything. I talk about you because… I want to understand you. And I want you to trust me enough to let me in. That’s all.”
You glanced down at the poetry book in his hand, and your chest tightened.
After a long pause, you sighed and shook your head. “You’re so annoying.”
He cracked a sheepish smile. “Yeah. I get that a lot.”
“…You can walk me to class tomorrow.”
He perked up instantly, smile blooming like the sun breaking through clouds. “Yeah?”
You rolled your eyes and turned around so he wouldn’t see the way your lips threatened to smile. “But don’t make a big deal out of it.”
“I won’t,” he said, already grinning. “Totally casual. Just two classmates. Walking.”
You shut the door behind him, heart racing in spite of yourself.
The next day, you found yourself back in the cafeteria, still sporting your signature scowl and the sunglasses that hid most of your face. You weren’t exactly thrilled to be sitting with the others again, but at least you had coffee. And you weren’t going to admit it, but you were kind of okay with Jungwon walking beside you—just a little bit.
As soon as you took your seat, Jungwon slid into the chair next to you with a big, goofy grin on his face. He handed you your coffee, still beaming like a dog who had just learned how to fetch.
“Still grumpy?” he teased, nudging your shoulder lightly.
You shot him a quick glance, raising an eyebrow. “Always,” you muttered, but there was something about the way he was looking at you—like you were the best thing he’d seen in a while—that made it hard to keep the edge.
You couldn’t stop the tiny smile that tugged at the corner of your lips. Jungwon’s grin widened like he’d just won the lottery. He looked way too proud of himself.
Sunghoon, who had been sitting across from you, groaned dramatically. “Please don’t do that in front of me ever again,” he said, scrunching his nose as if he’d just watched something gross.
You smirked, giving him a little shrug. “What’s your problem?” you shot back, still amused.
Sunghoon’s girlfriend, who had been chatting with Jake’s girlfriend, turned her head and raised her eyebrows. “Hey, you and I are way worse than that,” she said with a mischievous grin.
Jay, who had been in his own world, suddenly looked up at the mention of “worse.” He nodded in agreement, casually leaning back in his chair. “Yeah, don’t pretend like you and Hoon aren’t way more obnoxious than them,” he added with a smirk, looking at his own girlfriend.
Sunghoon shot him a look that could’ve killed, but Jay only grinned wider, clearly enjoying his role in messing with Sunghoon.
“Can you not?” Sunghoon groaned, resting his head on the table like he couldn’t deal with his friends anymore. “I’m not even here for this. Seriously.”
You chuckled under your breath, feeling a little more at ease with the group around you. It was nice, in a way, to be surrounded by people who weren’t as exhausting as you’d initially thought. But as you sipped your coffee, you felt Jungwon’s gaze on you again, making your chest tighten in that way only he seemed to manage.
“So,” Jungwon started, his tone shifting slightly, “when are you going to admit you missed me?”
You rolled your eyes, but the smile tugging at your lips said everything.
You were walking down the hall, scrolling through your phone, when you heard a loud voice—sharp, gruff, and full of irritation. You looked up just in time to see a girl backing away, holding her hands up in apology. She was drenched in some kind of drink, and standing opposite her, was a tall figure with his arms crossed.
It was Niki.
His dark eyes narrowed as he stared at the girl, his voice cold and direct. “You better be more careful next time,” he snapped.
“I’m really sorry,” the girl stammered, clearly embarrassed. “I didn’t mean to—I’ll clean it up!”
He grunted, not looking all that bothered, though the tension in his posture didn’t exactly scream forgiveness. “Whatever,” he muttered, before turning to walk away, leaving the girl still frozen in place.
You couldn’t help but watch as he strode off down the hall, his expression as nonchalant as ever. But there was something about him—something sharp and guarded. It made you curious.
Maybe this would be an interesting story for later.

our little, messy, perfect life // leah williamsom
a/n : ugh i miss my future wife and kids
warnings : none! some more tooth rotting fluff
You were sprawled out across the bed, half-asleep, refusing to acknowledge the very real fact that morning had arrived. Leah, already awake and freshly showered, was standing over you with her arms crossed, a knowing smirk on her lips.
“You do realise you have to get up at some point?” she mused, nudging your side with her knee.
“I created life—twice. Out of pure love for you,” you continued, peeking at her through your fingers. “And how do you repay me? By making me get out of bed before noon? It’s honestly offensive.”
Leah huffed out a laugh before leaning down and pressing a lingering kiss to your forehead. “You’re so dramatic.”
“You love it.”
“I do,” she admitted easily, running a hand through your hair. “Now, come on. Rosie’s been calling for you, and Emilia is—well, she’s being Emilia.”
That was enough to make you finally move, if only because your youngest had an uncanny ability to make you feel guilty with just one sad little “Mummy?”
With a deep sigh of suffering, you hauled yourself out of bed, dramatically placing a hand on your back. “See, this is what carrying your children has done to me. I’m basically ancient now.”
Leah smacked your bum on the way out of the bedroom, making you yelp. “Oi!”
“Just making sure you’re still alive,” she teased. “Wouldn’t want you keeling over before breakfast.”
You shot her a glare over your shoulder, but she just grinned, looking far too pleased with herself.
By the time you made it downstairs, Rosie was already seated in her highchair, her chubby little hands smacking the tray impatiently. The second she saw you, her whole face lit up like you’d just promised her the world.
“MUMMY!”
Your heart melted instantly, and you rushed over to scoop her up, peppering her face with kisses as she giggled. “Oh, my beautiful girl! Did Mama ignore you all morning? Did she?”
Leah gasped. “Excuse me, I did not! We had a very lovely morning together, thank you very much.”
Rosie, ever the little traitor, grinned and pointed at Leah. “Mama mean.”
You gasped dramatically. “I knew it!”
Leah groaned, but you could see the way her lips twitched like she was fighting back a smile. “Brilliant. I love how I do all the work, and you swoop in at the last second and become the favourite.”
“What can I say? I’m just naturally irresistible.”
Before Leah could respond, heavy footsteps stomped into the kitchen, announcing the arrival of your teenage daughter.
Emilia slumped into a chair with all the grace of someone who had been forced to wake up against their will. “Morning,” she mumbled, barely looking up from her phone.
“Good morning, my favourite firstborn,” you greeted, ruffling her hair as you passed.
She groaned, shoving your hand away. “Mum, stop.”
Leah smirked. “Yeah, babe, stop. You’re embarrassing her.”
“Oh, sorry, Leah,” you shot back, rolling your eyes. “Forgive me for loving my own child.”
Rosie, sensing an opportunity, reached for Emilia next. “Milaaaa, hug.”
And just like that, the moody teenager melted. Emilia might’ve been in the phase where she was “too cool” for her parents, but her baby sister was her biggest weakness. With a dramatic sigh, she pulled Rosie into her lap, letting the toddler squish her cheeks in her tiny hands.
“You’re the only one I like,” Emilia muttered, glaring at you and Leah.
Leah gasped. “Wow. Wounded.”
“You’ll recover,” Emilia deadpanned, scrolling on her phone with one hand while Rosie clung to her like a koala.
Breakfast was its usual mix of chaos and banter. Emilia spent half the time texting her boyfriend, Harry, while you and Leah made it your mission to annoy her as much as possible.
“So, what are we thinking?” you asked, smirking. “Should we finally meet this Harry kid?”
Emilia groaned. “No.”
Leah hummed. “I think we should. I mean, it’s only fair, right? Our baby girl dating some random boy? What if he’s secretly a criminal?”
Emilia scoffed. “He’s not a criminal.”
“But how do you know?” you teased. “Have you checked his criminal record? Asked for references?”
Leah nodded along. “Maybe we should call his mum. Set up a little meeting.”
Emilia’s eyes widened in horror. “Mum, no! You cannot do that.”
You and Leah burst out laughing as Emilia groaned into her hands.
“God, you guys are the worst.”
Leah slung an arm around your shoulders, grinning. “Yeah, but you love us.”
Emilia didn’t respond, but the small smirk she tried to hide gave her away.
The rest of the day passed in a blur of family chaos. You and Leah took Rosie to the park, where she insisted on going down the slide approximately 300 times, each time demanding that “Mummy watch!” as if you weren’t already staring at her like she was the greatest thing to ever exist.
Later, when Emilia finally left to go see her boyfriend (after an embarrassing amount of warnings from you and Leah), you and Leah collapsed onto the couch together, Rosie fast asleep between you.
Leah turned her head to look at you, a small smile playing on her lips. “We made some pretty great kids, huh?”
You hummed, brushing a stray curl from Rosie’s forehead. “We did.”
Leah reached for your hand, intertwining your fingers. “And you—god, I love you.”
You smirked. “I know.”
Leah rolled her eyes but leaned in anyway, kissing you slowly, sweetly.
Yeah, life in the Williamson household was chaotic, messy, and loud. But it was also filled with more love than you could’ve ever dreamed of.

𓍢ִ໋🌷͙֒✧˚ ༘ ⋆ ➛ Opposite
Oscar Piastri x Fem!reader

Summary: Oscar has always been so grumpy and moody; frowning towards others but when he sees you, his mood changes faster than the speed of light itself.
Genre: Black cat boyfriend x Golden retriever girlfriend
Note: look out for grammatical errors and this is not proofread guys!
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧ ➛ My Masterlist

“What’s got your panties in a bunch?” Lando joked, seeing as Oscar’s expression rested into it’s usual downward smile. It was always fixated like that so it’s hard to tell whether or not he’s mad or just himself— others often misinterpret his attitude though.
Mainly because of his resting bitch face and the fact that he’s always frowning all the time, but people got used to it overtime.
Oscar just rolled his eyes and shrugged,”Nothing, i was just staring at something.”
“Staring?” Lando scoffed, “mate, you look like you’re about to murder someone.”
Oscar flipped Lando off, not even sparing him a single glance as he does so.
The other driver chuckled at his child like behavior and just shook his head in a playful manner, “I am telling you man, whatever your staring at right now, might think you’re judging the inside of their soul”
“I don’t even care, fuck them” oscar retaliated, his eyes rolling in the back of his head out of habit.
Before Lando could even tease him any further, a familiar voice spoke softly; interrupting their conversation and joining in themselves.
“Fuck who?” You asked innocently, your smile so radiant and bright that it lit up the once cold and mundane atmosphere.
Oscar’s whole demeanor changed and so did his mood— as soon as you set foot in the hospice and when his eyes landed on your pretty figure, he was like a completely new person.
“Hi babyy!” He spoke, dragging the y with an exaggerated smile, his tone going from gloomy to happy.
Lando giggled from the corner, “wow, where did that come from.”
Oscar momentarily glared at Lando— his eyes shifted back to his old one. If looks could kill, Lando would be buried 6 feet under.
His fellow driver put both hands in front and gestured to back off, “guess i am off then, see you around y/n."
"Bye lan, it was nice seeing you!" you replied happily.
Meanwhile, whilst Lando was heading out, Oscar's sharp stare never jearked away from his body; staring daggers at the poor man.
But of course, once Lando has left, his whole aura changed; he was all bubbly and smiley. It's like he wasn't the Oscar from earlier.
Oscar then patted his lap, gesturing for you to sit there, to which you happily obliged. Sitting excitedly on his lap and gripping his waist to try and balance yourself.
You leaned in to his embrace and shifted yourself to comfort.
"What were you guys talking about?," you mumbled, moving your head up to see his face clearly.
Oscar let out a contented sigh as he gently laid his hand in the roof of your head and ruffled it. You were just so damn adorable, sitting on his lap like that.
Your eyes narrowed from his movement, "What was that for?" You gasped confusingly, earning a soft chuckle from your boyfriend.
"Nothing you're just too cute not to" Oscar spoke, using his free hand to pinch the side of your cheek.
He looked at awe with your confused look-- he doesn't know why it affects him that much and why it makes his heart go beat crazy, but he likes the feeling.
Only with you though.
You guys were too busy with each other that you didn't even notice another presscence blocking the doorframe.
Only when a subtle gasp where let out that the two of you knew that there was someone else.
"IS THAT A SMILE I SEE FROM THE OSCAR PIASTRI??"
"LEAVE US ALONE PIERRE"
And he's back.

Hello!
Can I please request Spencer being all cute and clingy and needy in the morning, right after he and the reader get up. Like she wants to get out of bed but he's just holding onto her and pouting because he wants to keep on cuddling and the both of them are just giggly?
sleepy — spencer reid
pairing: spencer reid x fem!reader ( no use of y/n ) content warnings: fluffy fluff a/n: hi hi !! this is so cute ( and i need this to happen to me actually </3 )
The sunlight streamed through the half-open blinds, painting everything in a soft, honeyed glow.
It had to be close to noon by now. You’d meant to get up hours ago—really, you had—but a certain someone had other plans.
Spencer had stirred briefly when you’d first tried to slide out of bed, murmuring something unintelligible against the back of your shoulder. But instead of letting you go, he’d only pulled you closer, his arms winding around your waist.
"Spence," you said again, your voice barely louder than a whisper.
He didn’t answer, not with words anyway. But you felt the slight shift in his breathing, the way his fingertips brushed absentmindedly against your side.
Awake. Just stubborn.
You turned slightly, just enough to peek at him over your shoulder. The movement made your neck protest, but it was worth it.
He looked peaceful—ridiculously so. One arm slung across your stomach, the other tucked beneath his own head. His hair was a soft mess of curls, tousled and wild, a single lock falling right over his closed eye. And his mouth… he had the faintest pout as he slept, lips rounded and full.
You had to bite your lip to keep from grinning like an idiot.
The urge to kiss that pout away nearly overwhelmed you, but you forced yourself to behave. Barely. You knew if you leaned in, you’d never make it out of bed. Not for another hour. Maybe two.
With a sigh, you turned back around, your head settling against the pillow again.
"We really should get up," you murmured, though your voice lacked any real conviction.
In response, Spencer only tightened his arms around you, his nose nudging against the back of your shoulder. He didn’t speak—morning words were always slow to come for him—but the way he curled closer, his knees slotting behind yours, was answer enough.
Not yet.
"Spencer, I'm pretty sure it’s like... noon," you said, your voice half-laced with amusement, half-exasperation.
That was when he finally spoke, voice low and rough with sleep: “So?”
You blinked, raising a brow, even though he couldn’t see it.
“So?” you echoed, incredulous. You shifted slightly, attempting—once again—to escape the iron hold he had on your waist. And, once again, failing. Spectacularly.
"Spencer, it’s late," you sighed, dragging out the words like you were trying to convince yourself just as much as him.
"Who cares?" he mumbled, his lips brushing lazily against your bare shoulder as he spoke. The kiss was barely more than a breath, but it made your heart skip anyway.
At least he was awake enough to kiss you, you thought, amused. That had to count for something.
"Wow. Moody," you muttered under your breath.
"Not moody," he replied, still half-asleep, voice muffled as he tucked his face into the crook of your neck. "Just mad at you for trying to stop cuddling."
You felt his arms pull you even closer, which barely seemed possible considering you were already tangled together like a pair of vines. You smiled to yourself, letting your eyes flutter closed again for a moment.
"That’s not very professional of you, Dr. Reid," you teased softly.
He hummed in response, a low sound that vibrated against your skin. "Good thing I'm off duty, then."
You chuckled under your breath, reaching down to lightly trace your fingers over his hand where it rested on your waist. "You know we can't stay in bed all day, right?"
"Debatable," he said, clearly unbothered.
You shook your head, biting back another smile. He was impossible in the mornings. Impossible and adorable. And maybe… just maybe, you didn’t really mind being talked into staying a little longer.
Thirty minutes later—you counted—thirty full minutes of shifting, sighing, bribing, and attempting the impossible escape, you finally managed to sit up.
Victory.
Your back met the headboard with a soft thud as you exhaled, running a hand through your hair like you'd just finished a marathon.
Beside you, Spencer had finally given in, though not gracefully. He was now upright too, but only barely, slouched low against the pillows with the blanket still tangled around his waist. His curls were sticking up in every direction, and there was the faintest crease on his cheek from where it had been pressed into the pillow.
And yes—he was pouting.
"Are you seriously upset with me?" you asked, glancing at him with a smirk tugging at the corner of your mouth.
He didn’t answer right away. Just blinked at you slowly, clearly still not fully back on this planet. Sleep clung to him like a second skin, warm and drowsy.
You nudged his thigh with your knee. "Spence."
He sighed dramatically, finally turning his head to look at you. His eyes were soft, still hazy with sleep, but his lips remained stubbornly pursed. You bit your lip to keep from laughing. He looked like a kid who’d just been told recess was over.
"You know I’m not actually mad," he mumbled, crossing his arms like that would help his case.
"Mmhmm," you said, clearly not convinced.
"I just..." He paused, rubbing his eyes with the heel of his hand before giving you a look that was equal parts sleepy and sincere. "You were warm. And you smell good. And I was having a dream where we were at this bookstore in Paris and you found this first edition of Les Misérables and you were so excited, and—”
You leaned over and kissed his cheek, effectively cutting off the ramble. He blinked at you, momentarily stunned into silence.
"That’s sweet," you said. "But you do know we have lives, right?"
He groaned and dropped his head back on the pillow, dramatic as ever. “Unfortunately.”
You looked down at him, lips twitching with amusement. His eyes were closed again, and, of course, the pout had returned—just a little more exaggerated this time. He knew exactly what he was doing.
“I just wanted to cuddle and dream of us being in Paris,” he mumbled, voice low and sleep-rough. “You took that away from me.”
You let out a reluctant sigh, a smile tugging at your lips despite yourself. It was hard to resist him when he was like this
Spencer’s lips twitched upward, a satisfied smile spreading across his face, even though his eyes remained closed. He knew he was getting what he wanted. He always did.
“You’re so clingy, you know that?” you muttered, though the words lacked any real bite.
You were already scooting back down the bed, your resolve crumbling under the weight of his quiet, puppy-like persistence.
Spencer didn’t even try to hide his smile this time. His eyes stayed closed, but the grin that spread across his face was pure victory. Without missing a beat, he shuffled closer, all warmth and limbs, until his body was pressed against yours once again. His face tucked perfectly under your chin, his curls tickling your neck.
"You love it," he whispered smugly, voice muffled by your collarbone.
You rolled your eyes, but your fingers were already threading lazily through his hair, brushing that one stubborn curl off his forehead. “Yeah, yeah.”
You couldn’t really argue with that logic. After all, you didn’t mind the clinginess, especially when it came with the comfort of him just being close.
His hand slid across your waist as he melted into you, warm and content. He sighed, clearly pleased with the way things were turning out.
You couldn’t help but smile. Despite his dramatics, you wouldn’t want him any other way.

"This a diplomatic summoning so be respectful-"
"Yeah, bats, we got it." Flash interrupted him, after all this was the 90th time he repeated it.
Batman huffed and Nightwing, who was there to keep Batman from looking too scary, had to work to keep his laugh inside.
"Okay, let's do this" Constantine mutters and starts the ritual. Which, he might add, was very confusing.
A few minutes later, the circle on the floor starts turning green, a swirly lazarus green pit opens and-
"A kid?" Flash sputters out.
"Wow, that's rude you know, I didn't choose to die looking this way" Said the boy? Ghost. Said the ghost.
Nightwing had to hold back a wince because the ghost looked very much like a mix between all of his siblings, change the hair and eye color and you got them down.
"We, uhm, this is supposed to summon-" Superman starts, with that voice of his that is not meant to be condescending but-
"I do have other forms, but most think it's quite...unsettling. So yes, I am the ghost king, phantom. What do you need" phantom said, sounding quite annoyed. "You were interrupting me you know."
Oh no. The ghost king. Is a.

i need to be excused (aaron hotchner x wife!reader)
summary: yknow that scene where hotch says “excuse me” and then faints? imagine that but his wife does it to him.
Having a profiler for a husband gets annoying with how observent he is. Unfortunately, you’re also a profiler, so it’d be hypocritical to complain.
Still, when Hotch notices the slightest thing wrong, he latches onto it. He’s had his eye on you ever since you took a hard hit from a fight in the field. You barely had time to recover before the team had to board the jet again to respond to some emergency Strauss needed them for.
Apparently, a man who claims to be linked to other murders and who was a former BAU agent had made a threat against Strauss’s family. Finally back at the BAU, the team’s stuck calling people, making arrangements, going through endless paperwork to try and get more information and figure out what was going on.
You’re not doing so hot. Still reeling from the pain, but also exhausted and definitely moody. Hotch keeps it professional since they’re at work, but is still watching out for you.
Hours later, after correctly identifying the man and making the arrest (which included lots of running around), the team again returns to their base. They’re going through everything and debriefing next steps, when you abruptly stand.
“I need to be excused for a moment,” you say, already sounding breathless, before promptly keeling over and collapsing onto the floor.
For a second, everyone freezes in shock. Hotch is the first to react. He all but screams your name, dropping to his knees and trying to assess what’s going on.
“Honey, honey? C’mon, wake up. What’s going on? Sweetheart, please,” Hotch says as he shakes you, moving you so that your head is in his lap.
Spencer kneels on your other side, gently taking your pulse and reporting that it’s stable. “Could be exhaustion, dehydration . . .” He trails off, listing all the reasons he can think of.
Hotch uses one hand to run his fingers through your hair and the other to cup your face, lightly tapping your cheek. After nearly a minute of the team standing around, wondering what to do, your eyes start to flutter open.
“Aaron?” You mutter, seeing your husband’s eyes first.
“Hi, hon. You passed out. I need you to tell me how you’re feeling,” he says, keeping his voice soft but letting out a breath of relief now that you’re awake. He continues threading his fingers through your hair and rubs his thumb against your cheek.
You blink a couple times and then say, “Tired.”
Exhaustion, then. “You’re sure that’s it? Is anything else wrong?” Hotch asks, anxious to role out some underlying cause.
You nod, then grimace at the lightheaded feeling it gives you, turning and smushing the side of your face in Hotch’s lap. He looks up at the team and gestures his head towards the door.
They get the hint, though Emily and Spencer do offer to stay behind and help. Hotch thanks them but assures them that you’ll be alright and the team takes off.
“Do you feel alright to sit up?” Hotch asks after a moment.
“Yeah,” you murmur and, with his help, sit up. You immediately lean into his arms. “Ooh, wow. Dizzy.”
“I think you pushed yourself a bit too hard, sweetheart. We gotta make sure you rest properly. Wouldn’t hurt to get some food and water in you, too,” Hotch says, cradling you.
You hum in agreement. The two of you sit there for a bit, Hotch being in no rush to move you. He can’t help but reflect a bit and he sighs, shaking his head.
“What?” You ask grumpily.
“Just a little in shock that you actually excused yourself before fainting,” he says. He recognizes the funniness of it, though he lacks any amusement, still too worried.
You chuckle. “Was tryin’ to be polite,” you explain.
“I’m sure you were,” Hotch says, smearing a kiss against your head.
You continue on sitting, Hotch rubbing your back. Finally, he gets the both of you on your feet, and leads you out to the car. He sits you in the passenger’s seat and buckles you in, driving you home. Once there Hotch immediately gets you in bed, helping you change into pajamas before doing the same. He gets you a glass of water and a snack, making sure that you eat and drink it all.
“Wanna sleep now,” you mumble once you’re done, curling into his chest.
“Of course, dear. Just relax,” he coos, already planning to call you both out of work tomorrow. He does not take his wife fainting lightly and is going to do everything he can to make sure you’re okay.

More more moooooore of bunny and rafe noooowwwww 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩❤️❤️❤️
Currently working on the next chapter right now but since everyone's been saying Bunny should just hit Rafe with her car already... ?
Well just imagine Bunny leaving the country club one day after work, and she's just not in the mood. She had get on her hands and knees to clean up baby vomit even though the family weren't even one of her tables and no matter how many times she washed her hands she feels like she can still smell the pungent scent on her skin. To add to that, Sofia wasn't in today so she ate lunch all by herself in the staff locker rooms.
Her feet ache, her uniform feels like it’s clinging to her skin in all the wrong places, and now all she wants is to go home, take a shower hot enough to melt her skin off, and pass out. But of course, because the universe hates her, she hears his voice.
“Hey waitress!”
Her jaw clenches before she even looks up, her pace quickening as she weaves between the parked cars. She’s not in the mood for this. “Maybank!” Rafe calls again, his voice carrying easily over the pavement.
“Hey! I’m talking to you, Pogue!”
She exhales sharply through her nose. Ignore him. He’ll get bored.eventually. Well she hoped he will, but then there are footsteps, and she knows he’s coming closer still calling out her name, and before she can help it, she bites back at him.
“Yeah I can hear your fucking nagging voice.”
Rafe just grins, clearly amused, and she’s already regretting acknowledging him. She reaches her car, yanking the handle, but before she can climb in, Rafe’s hand slaps against the door, pushing it shut again and she just folds her arms staring at him unimpressed.
“Where you goin’?”
He asks, head tilting like he genuinely wants to know. But her best guess is he's wondering if she's going to the club- so he can follow after her and torment her there instead. Y/N lets out a slow breath through her nose before levelling him with a look.
“Home.”
She replies flatly, hand coming out to yank the door open harshly and he just takes a step back hands raising in mock defeat. Rafe just hums now, the corner of his mouth twitching like he’s fighting a smirk.
“Wow. Moody much?”
Y/N slides into her car and slams the door shut, hands gripping the wheel so tightly her knuckles pale. She doesn’t even look at him as she starts the engine, the low hum filling the silence between them. However, she can still hear him through the crack in her window.
“You going to the club?”
She keeps her gaze ahead, jaw clenching. There it is. She didn't have to be a genius to know he was going to ask her that, after all she hadn't been at the club for a few days and she remembers getting a message from Bambi about how her 'boy toy is getting impatient' She lets out a small sigh, assuming he'll just let it go but of course, Rafe Cameron doesn’t let stuff go.
“Hey.”
A loud thud shakes her car as his palm slaps down on the roof. Y/N jumps slightly, brows furrowing in agitation as she whips her head toward him. He leans down just enough to look at her through the window.
“Don’t ignore me when I’m speaking to you.”
She scoffs, shaking her head as she shifts gears. Fuck this. Yet before she can even think about pulling out, Rafe is moving, stepping around the front of her car until he’s standing right in front of it. Her hands tighten around the wheel once more. Now he just stands there, arms crossed, looking at her with that smug little smirk like he’s got all the time in the world. Y/N stares back at him through the windshield in disbelief. Has he got nothing better to do? So now she rolls down her window, the mechanism groaning as she leans out slightly.
“Move"
Rafe doesn’t even flinch. He shifts his weight slightly, arms still crossed over his chest as he tilts his head at her, a slow smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Nah,” he drawls.
“I think I’m pretty comfy here, actually.”
“Rafe, I’m not playing. Get out of my way, I swear to God—”
Her glare is sharp enough to cut glass and her palms are getting sore from how hard she's holding onto the wheel. He cuts her off, stepping forward just enough that his hands rest on the hood of her car. “Or what, huh?” He’s taunting her now, head tilted, gaze locked onto hers.
“You gonna run me over?”
Y/N’s nostrils flare. She’s this close to actually considering it. Instead, her lips press into a thin line before her hand slams down on the horn. The deafening sound screeches through the parking lot, a piercing, relentless noise that makes even her ears ring. A few birds scatter from a nearby tree. Some people turn their heads. Even Rafe's brows twitch up slightly in surprise.
But he doesn’t move.
Of course, he doesn’t fucking move.
Y/N inhales sharply through her nose, forcing herself to take a deep breath because she genuinely feels like she might pass out from sheer hatred. Her teeth grind against each other, eyes narrowing as she grips the gear shift and smoothly switches it into drive. She doesn’t hesitate. The car lurches forward and Rafe’s body instinctively jerks back a step, his brows snapping together. He spits, his hands bracing against the hood now.
“The fuck?!”
“Fucking move”
She grits out, her patience hanging on by a thread. But he’s as stubborn as ever, stance firm, eyes narrowed right back at her.
“No.”
Her fingers flex against the steering wheel, her heart hammering with irritation. Fine. He wants to be difficult? So be it. She jerks the car forward again, this time stopping just centimetres away from his knees. The movement is sharp, precise, and just reckless enough to have his eyes widening slightly.
“You’re fucking insane”
He exclaims, finally stepping out of the way, hands held up to the car as if she might actually floor it. Y/N lets out a humorless laugh.
“Oh yeah? You don’t say.”
She doesn’t even look at him as she drives right past him, her grip on the wheel now loosening. And as she passes, she lifts one hand, flicking her middle finger out of the open window directly at him. Behind her, Rafe’s voice rings out in an irritated yell,
“Psycho bitch!
She deffo would completely run him over if there were no witnesses 🤫

to heal a broken heart with idia shroud.
NOTE. Part two of “To lose Malleus Draconia” !
You had always been good at pretending.
At this point, it was already second nature to you, really—masking your emotions with an easy smile, playing the enigmatic troublemaker no one could quite pin down. So when your heart was figuratively ripped out of your chest and was shredded to pieces when the person you loved found happiness in someone else, you did what you did best: acted like nothing had changed.
It was a convincing act. Almost.
Lately, however, your patience was running thinner than usual. The edges of your carefully constructed front were fraying, especially when certain things set you off—like the sight of them, standing too close to Malleus, laughing with him, stealing the attention that had once belonged to you.
God, what happened to forgetting and moving on?
And now, to make matters worse, here Ortho Shroud was, right in front of your dorm room, floating right in front of you with his usual cheer, an iPad clutched in his small hands. You didn’t need to guess who was on the other end of the call.
“Hello, Mini Shroud,” you greeted under your breath, already feeling a headache forming. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“Hello, [Name]-senpai!” Ortho chirped as he hovered closer. “Nii-san wanted to talk to you, so I brought him here!”
You exhaled sharply through your nose, barely resisting the urge to pinch the bridge of it. You peered down at the iPad, which displayed none other than Idia Shroud—well, the online icon of Idia Shroud, that is.
“Okay. What happened to you?”Idia asked, voice crackling slightly through the speakers as it adjusted to his voice.
You raised a brow, feigning ignorance. “What are you on about?”
“Uh, you?”
For once, you saw sight of a familiar blue flame flickering wildly, his expression twisted in sheer disbelief. Idia’s eyes darted over your face like he was analyzing an error in a game—actually turning on his camera for once, which was already concerning enough. “Dude, you look like you got hit with a debuff and just decided to keep playing. Have you seen yourself?”
“Wow. Charming as ever, Shroud.”
Idia wasn’t buying it. He leaned closer to his screen, scrutinizing you even harder. “No, seriously. Even your glitchy, cryptid self isn’t this—this—“ He waved a hand vaguely. “Moody.”
Ortho helpfully chimed in, “Nii-san ran a facial analysis on you, [Name]-senpai! According to the data, you’ve been significantly more tense and irritable in the last few days!”
“Facial analysis?” Your face fell flat.
Idia huffed. “Not the point! The point is, you’re acting like an NPC that just lost their main storyline quest. What gives?”
“Shouldn’t I be more concerned that you did a facial analysis—“
“Just answer the question.”
For a fleeting second, you felt your mask slip. Just a fraction. But you caught yourself before it could fully slip away, forcing an easy smile back onto your face.
“Please,” you scoffed. “I’m always moody. It’s part of my charm.”
“Uh-huh. And I’m a social butterfly.”
“Why are you like this?”
“Because I’m not blind,” Idia shot back. “And you look like you’re about to either punch a wall or collapse from emotional damage. So spill.”
You hesitated. You weren’t used to people noticing—or rather, you weren’t used to people calling you out on it. It was oddly disarming.
But like other things, you weren’t ready to talk about it. Not yet.
“Shroud. Idia. Dearest. Have you considered that I might just be brooding for dramatic effect?”
“That would be believable,” he deadpanned, “if you didn't look like a crashed program about to blue-screen.”
You chuckled, but it lacked its usual bite. “I’m fine, Shroud. Really.”
Idia didn’t look convinced. Ortho still seemed concerned.
But they didn’t push it.
“...Fine, whatever,” Idia muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. “Just don’t, like, turn into some tragic villain arc or whatever. That’s my aesthetic.”
You shook your head, waving a hand dismissively. “Goodbye, Idia.”
The screen goes dark.
-
Idia was not a social guy.
He avoided drama like the plague, stayed out of people’s love lives, and generally preferred to keep his interactions limited to a screen. It was safer that way. Less exhausting. No weird feelings to navigate. No awkward pep talks to give.
But you were his friend—a menace, a problem, but still his—and you were not acting very you lately.
And that was a problem.
A problem that Idia did not want to deal with, because ugh, feelings, but also—if you kept sulking like some tragic gothic novel protagonist, Idia was going to lose his mind.
A problem that also happened to occupy his bed.
Which was why, against his better judgment, he was actually making an effort to snap you out of your funk.
A real effort.
And you, the little bastard that you are, were resisting.
“Okay, listen,” Idia started, barely suppressing his frustration as you lay sprawled across Idia’s bed like a corpse, one arm draped dramatically over your face. “I get it—love is pain, you’re dying inside, blah blah blah—but you cannot just keep flopping onto my bed and refusing to move for hours.”
You peeked at him through your fingers.
“I can, actually.”
Idia groaned. “No, you can’t.”
“I’m a demon. I literally can. For centuries, too.”
“[Name].” Idia’s eye twitched. “Get. Up.”
You let out a long, suffering sigh.
“But why?”
“Because if I have to see you like this for another day, I will start screaming, and I won’t stop.”
You arched a lazy brow. “That’s kind of tolerable.”
“Oh my god.” Idia ran a hand through his hair in exasperation. “Nene, you are literally one of the most annoying people I know—how did you let yourself get this pathetic over one guy?! He’s a guy, for Sevens’ sake!”
You narrowed your eyes, sighing. “Bold of you to assume this is just ‘one guy.’”
“Oh, so you admit it’s because of Malleus.”
“Shut up.”
Idia grinned, victorious. “Ohhh, I knew it.” He sat cross-legged on the bed beside you, poking his arm repeatedly. “The mighty [Name] Mroczek—grandson of Chernabog, reduced to a sad little demon because the dragon prince didn’t pick him. Tragic.”
You swatted his hand away with a glare. “Do you want me to bite you?”
“I hate you.”
“I would welcome death at this point.”
You groaned, finally rolling onto your side.
Idia deadpanned. “And yet, you keep coming back to me.”
You muttered something in Slavic that was probably an insult.
Idia took it as a win. His win.
“Okay, enough brooding,” Idia declared, grabbing your wrist and yanking—which did absolutely nothing because you were a huge and a demon, but hey, effort. “You need to do something other than mope. And before you even think of saying ‘nothing sounds fun,’ I already made a list.”
You blinked, a bit surprised because Idia was not the type to put in so much effort in things that he didn’t see worthy of his time. “You made a list?”
“Yes, because I knew you’d try to be difficult,” Idia huffed. “Now. Option one—gaming marathon. I will let you use my custom console, and you know how big of a deal that is.”
“Oh. True. But you know I don’t even know how to hold a ‘gaming console.’”
“Which brings us to option two—we terrorize someone. Legally,” Idia added quickly. “Like, harmless pranks. I already programmed some illusions to mess with people.”
“Tempting,” you hummed.
“Option three—” Idia smirked. “We talk shit about those egoistic mermaids behind their back.”
That made you sit up, your attention piqued. And for the first time in weeks, you actually looked like yourself.
Idia leaned back, pleased with himself. “There it is. Finally.”
You rolled your eyes, but there was warmth in them now. “You’re awfully persuasive.”
“And you terrorize me more often than I can count, so that makes it even LOL.”
You huffed, but you didn’t deny it. Instead, you stretched out your arms, your usual lazy confidence slipping back into place. “Fine, fine. I’ll humor you.”
“That’s what I thought.”

need need NEED more hop x reader w el they are the CUTEST
“So she’s coming?” El asks.
Hopper pushes a glass of orange juice in her direction. “Mm-hm.”
“And she wants to see me.”
“Yeah, kid, she wants to see you.”
Eleven’s hair curls just under her ears. Hopper hadn’t suspected her hair would be curly once it began to grow, but it waves gently, and tighter the longer it becomes. He doesn’t know how to take care of it. He only just taught her how to use shampoo and conditioner without leaving all the suds in.
She scratches it. “What are you looking at?”
“Nothing.” He ruffles her hair. “Eat your breakfast. You can get changed when you’re done. You need me to help you find something?”
“No. I like choosing.”
Hopper knows. She isn’t good at matching yet, but she’ll get there.
She eats her breakfast too quickly, doesn’t drink her juice, and doesn’t put her plate in the sink before she goes, but Hopper doesn’t bother getting mad. He’s trying to be less moody. He’s also trying to be understanding; she’s learning to be a normal kid. Most normal kids are slobs.
“Can we have dessert?” El shouts from her room.
“You can have a snack later.”
“Please?”
“You can have some chips once you get dressed. Are you still hungry, or–?”
“Snacks,” she says, turning on her radio.
Hopper nods, laughing to himself when there’s a knock at the door. He’s been waiting to see you all weekend, and he walks to the door with a terrible smugness about him to let you in.
“Hello,” he says, wedging the creaky frame open with his shoe.
“Hi, handsome.” You look up into his eyes, fresh-faced like you’ve had a good scrub and dressed for a day in the house in cuffless sweatpants and a hoodie he thinks might be his. “Wow, nice shirt, hotshot. What is that? The Hawkins Police Department fun run of eighty two? That’s vintage.”
He leans down to kiss you hello.
“Oh, hi,” you flirt.
You’re confident when you know you’re loved, he’s found. Still the homespun woman he knew you to be, but affectionate once you’re comfortable. He smiles into your mouth and pulls you tight to his chest, lifting you off of your feet for a millisecond before placing you back down.
“Where’s my girl?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he says.
“El?” you call. You slide around him to find her but turn back, “Did you ask her about the hugging?”
“She says it’s fine.”
“Like, she wants to?”
It had been a strange conversation. Hopper is used to telling El things, or being told things by her. He didn’t ask her what she likes for breakfast, he just kept guessing until he found the right stuff. She never asked him if she could sit in his side during movies, she just inched closer until he put his arm around her.
“She wants to,” Hopper says. She’d seemed perturbed by the question, sure, but it ended with her happy little smile through a handful of popcorn.
“El?” you call again.
“Kid! Your best friend is here!” Hopper shouts.
Thunder from her bedroom, a door swung open and slapping the wall. “Y/N?” she asks, the skirt of her dress swinging as she pauses in the doorway.
You smile and step forward. You’re tentative but excited all the same, laughing as you wrap your arms around her shoulders, and pat her back. “Hi, beautiful.”
“Where have you been? It’s two weeks.”
“Yeah? I didn’t mean to not see you for so long, I’m sorry.”
“Hop says you have lots to do.”
“There’s a leak in my bathroom,” you take her by the shoulders. “Aw, this is nice. When’d you get this? It’s light and summery.”
“Hop… from a catalogue.”
You raise your brows at him, grinning. “That’s nice. How many did you get?”
“We got five.”
“Five! From the catalogue!” You hold her hand. “Hop must really like you, huh? Who can blame him?”
El looks down at your joined hands. Hopper feels his skeptic heart softening. “He likes you, too.”
“But do we like him?” you joke, letting go of her hand to put your arm behind her back instead. You give Hopper a look.
“What?” he asks.
“I was thinking we’d go out for milkshakes?”
Hopper bites his tongue. El has a birth certificate now, she’s his daughter, she can’t be taken, but going out with her into the world draws stares and derision alike. People can tell she’s abnormal, and he can’t stand that. She doesn’t deserve to be gawked at for talking a little slowly, or messing with stuff she doesn’t understand.
But he doesn’t want her feeling punished for those things either.
“Get your jacket, El.” She beams, rushing for her room. “She’s gonna love the jukebox,” Hopper says.
You meander back into his arms, kissing his stubbly cheek. He pretends to nudge you away.

Uncle Moony and Siri 🌟
Uncle Moony and Uncle Siri visit
[regulus black x fem potter! reader]
warnings: fluff
It was a quiet morning at the Potter-Black household, the kind that Y/N had learned to cherish. The storm from the night before had passed, leaving behind a crisp autumn breeze that drifted through the open windows. Harry sat cross-legged on the living room floor, carefully stacking his wooden blocks, his tongue peeking out in concentration.
Regulus was sitting in the armchair, a book in one hand, a cup of tea in the other, looking as composed as ever. Y/N was beside Harry on the rug, sorting through his toys when suddenly—
BANG. BANG. BANG.
The front door shook under the weight of impatient knocking.
Regulus barely looked up from his book. “I am not answering that,” he muttered, sipping tea.
Y/N sighed, already knowing who it was. “If we ignore him, he’ll just keep knocking louder.”
Sure enough—BANG. BANG. BA—
“Alright, alright!” Y/N called as she stood up and approached the door, throwing it open to reveal a very smug-looking Sirius Black, leaning casually against the frame.
“Why, hello there, darling sister-in-law,” Sirius greeted dramatically. “Your favorite Black has arrived.”
Behind him, Remus stood with a patient smile, holding a small box wrapped in brown paper. “I told him to knock like a normal person,” he said apologetically.
“I did knock like a normal person,” Sirius said, grinning as he stepped inside. “With enthusiasm.”
Y/N rolled her eyes but stepped aside to let them in.
At the sound of new voices, Harry perked up. His little face lit up, and he scrambled to his feet. “Uncle Siri! Uncle Moony!”
Sirius let out a bark of laughter as he scooped Harry up, spinning him in the air. “There’s my favorite kiddo! Getting bigger every time I see you, huh?”
Harry giggled wildly, his tiny hands gripping onto Sirius’s robes. “Faster, Uncle Siri!”
“Not in the house,” Regulus said flatly from his armchair.
Sirius ignored him and did one more spin before setting Harry down.
Remus crouched beside Harry, handing him the small package. “I brought you a little something, Harry,” he said warmly.
Harry gasped, taking the package with wide eyes. “A present?”
“Just a little one,” Remus said with a soft smile. “Go on, open it.”
Harry eagerly tore into the paper, revealing a small enchanted book filled with moving pictures of magical creatures. His face lit up. “Wow!” He carefully flipped through the pages, watching a tiny Hippogriff flap its wings before running to Y/N. “Mama, look!”
“That’s amazing, love,” Y/N said, ruffling his hair. “What do you say to Uncle Moony?”
“Thank you, Uncle Moony!” Harry beamed.
“Anytime, little one,” Remus replied, ruffling his hair in return.
Sirius, meanwhile, flopped dramatically onto the couch, stretching his arms across the back. “So, where’s the good tea? Or—better yet—firewhisky?”
Regulus finally looked up from his book, narrowing his eyes. “It’s eleven in the morning.”
“And?” Sirius smirked. “I was up late doing very important things.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow. “Sirius, was that very important thing a drinking contest with Mad-Eye Moody?”
“… No?”
Remus sighed. “Yes.”
Harry, still absorbed in his book, sat himself right next to Regulus in the armchair, leaning against him. Regulus instinctively wrapped an arm around the boy, holding his book in one hand while absentmindedly carding his fingers through Harry’s messy hair.
Sirius watched them with a smirk. “Never thought I’d see the day. My little brother—a proper parent.”
Regulus shot him a glare. “What is that supposed to mean?”
Sirius grinned. “It means I’m still processing the fact that you—the grumpy, brooding Black—ended up raising my godson instead of me.” He leaned forward, winking at Harry. “But don’t worry kid, I’m the fun uncle. When you get older, I’ll teach you all the best pranks.”
Harry giggled. “Really?”
Regulus scowled. “No.”
“Yes,” Sirius countered, nodding at Harry.
Y/N snorted. “No pranks today, at least. I’d rather not clean up whatever chaos you unleash.”
Sirius sighed dramatically. “Fine, fine. I’ll behave.” He paused, then grinned at Harry. “For now.”
Regulus groaned, rubbing his temple. “Why did I let you into my house?”
Remus chuckled, sipping his tea. “Because you secretly love us.”
Regulus scoffed but didn’t argue.
Y/N just smiled, watching as Harry curled up happily between them all, his laughter filling the house. Whatever storm had been outside last night, whatever nightmares had tried to creep in, Harry was safe here—with his family. Even if Sirius was a bad influence.

ᓚᘏᗢ — beneath the stars, we became one: chapter 015 !
the crisp afternoon air greeted you as you stepped out of your apartment building, the faint rustling of leaves filling the quiet. rin stood there waiting, hands stuffed in his jacket pockets, his usual expression in place. the subtle shift in his stance - a slight weight leaning on one leg - hinted at his impatience.
his teal eyes landed on you the moment the door clicked shut behind you. he didn't say a word, didn't even move, just stared at you with an unreadable expression before narrowing his eyes slightly. without a single greeting, he turned around, signaling for you to follow with a small tilt of his head.
"wow, no 'hi' or 'how are you'?" you pouted, catching up to him quickly. instead of waiting for a reply, you boldly slung your arm through his, linking the two of you together. "guess i'll just make the greeting more formal myself."
he stiffened ever so slightly at the unexpected touch but didn't pull away, his posture relaxing after a moment. "you're awfully cheerful today," he mumbled, side-eyeing you.
"of course i am," you chirped, giving his arm a little squeeze. "after all, i got asked by the one and only itoshi rin if i want to meet him. who wouldn't be excited?"
he rolled his eyes, but the faintest hint of a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "you're so annoying."
"and yet, here you are, letting me hang onto you like this," you shot back, a playful grin on your face.
he let out a small huff, his pace steady as the two of you walked in sync. though he didn't say it, the slight shift in his demeanor told you he didn't mind it.
the two of you walked in comfortable silence for a while, the faint hum of traffic in the distance blending with your footsteps on the pavement. every now and then, you'd steal a glance at rin, noticing how the late afternoon sunlight highlighted his sharp features. he seemed lost in thought, his expression neutral but his eyes slightly narrowed, as though something was bothering.
you tilted your head, breaking the silence. "okay, spill it. what's with that attitude?"
rin didn't respond immediately, his gaze fixed straight ahead. "what attitude?" he muttered, clearly deflecting.
"the one where you've been all moody ever since i got here," you pointed out, nudging him lightly. "come on, tell me."
he sighed, finally stopping in his tracks and looking down at you. "you met up with reo earlier," he said, his voice flat but his words laced with something you couldn't quiet place.
you blinked, surprised. "yeah, so? we ate lunch and none of you had time."
rin's eyes narrowed again, his tone sharper now. "yeah, you should've just said you wanted to meet up. i would've-" he paused, looking at the trees behind you, his words trailing off into an awkward mumble. "i would never let you pay."
your eyes widened slightly before realization hit, and you couldn't help but grin. "wait... are you jealous?"
his jaw clenched, and he turned his gaze away. "no."
"you are!" you teased, your voice bubbling with laughter. "you're really jealous! what the flip rinnie, that's adorable. you're so cute when you're like this."
"shut up," he muttered, the tips of his ears turning noticeably red as he started walking again, faster this time, as if to escape your teasing.
you quickly caught up, your grin widening as you grabbed his arm. "oh no, you don't, rinnie," you said, halting him in his tracks. without giving him a chance to respond, you reached up and grabbed his face, your fingers squeezing his cheeks lightly. his wide eyes stared at you, caught complety off guard.
"what the-" rin mumbled through squished cheeks, his voice muffled and confused.
"you're so cute when you're all flustered," you teased, leaning in before he could react. your lips brushed his in a quick, spontaneous kiss, your heart pounding wildly. you pulled back just as quickly, your playful grin softening as you met his wide, startled gaze.
for a moment, it was silent. rin stood frozen, processing what had just happened. then, without a word, his hands moved, cupping your face gently but firmly, pulling you closer. his lips met yours with a softness that surprised you - a tenderness that melted the playful tension into something deeper.
the kiss was slow, deliberate, as if he was savoring the moment. it wasn't just a kiss, no, it felt like the world has paused, leaving only the two of you in its stillness. the heat of his palms against your skin, the way his touch was so careful yet so sure, sent a rush through your chest.
you wrapped your arms around his neck, your fingers threading lightly through the hair at the nape of his neck. the closeness was intoxicating, his scent, the warmth of his breath, and the unspoken emotions lingering in the air between you.
when he finally pulled back, his forehead rested against yours, his breath uneven, his eyes searching yours with an intensity that made your knees weak. "you're impossible," he murmured, his voice low and almost breathless, but there was no bite to his words. instead, there was something soft, so so unguarded.
you laughed softly, your arms still draped around his neck. "it's all your fault," you whispered, a hint of mischief in your voice as you met his gaze, your lips still tingling from his.
for the first time, he didn’t look away, his usual stoicism replaced by a small, rare smile. and in that moment, under the soft afternoon sun, everything felt perfectly, beautifully right.

I'm the "ms. knife" anon! I'm glad you liked it, when I thought about it I literally giggled for 2 minutes 🤭
If you please please do a Mari bot, maybe talking shit about shauna together ☺️?
Also, can I be 🕳️ anon in honor of my p(it) girl?
🕳️ anon, you’re a genius & i had to lock in for you immediately!! here’s your mari bot treat! (also it’s 2am here, so apologies in advance if this is a little ooc 😔)
you don’t look up when the hut’s “door” swings open behind you.
you know it’s not shauna: she’s made it pretty clear you’re not worth following after. you hadn’t even said anything wrong, just pointed out that the firewood wasn’t stacked right, but that’d been enough to set her off. when you snapped back, you became the problem.
shauna can throw a punches, draw blood, and everyone just blames it on her grief. you raise your voice once and somehow you’re the one who needs to go “cool off”.
“wow,” mari drawls from behind you. “you really pissed her off, huh?”
you glance over your shoulder, eyebrows raised. mari’s standing just inside the doorway, arms folded, with the faintest twitch of amusement at the corner of her mouth. it’s a little surprising to see her here at all. mari doesn’t usually do…comfort. she drops onto the edge of the shared bed anyway, nudging your foot with hers.
“i mean, you asked a question. not even a stupid one, which is fucking rare around here!”
you scoff. “i don’t even know what i said wrong this time!”
“welcome to the club” mari shrugs. “shauna gets moody and suddenly it’s everyone else’s problem. you remember when she spat in my food? and somehow i was being dramatic for caring? like, sorry, i didn’t want someone’s disgusting post-trauma spit in my soup. what a monster i am!” she glances at you then. “if it helps, i don’t think she’s mad at you. she’s just pissed that someone finally said something she couldn’t brush off. you’re not the first, and you definitely won’t be the last.”
the two of you sit in silence for another moment, listening to the footsteps of the others moving outside of the hut. oddly enough, mari doesn’t seem in a rush to leave, which says more than she probably means it to.
finally, she shifts her weight and leans back on her hands. “anyway,” she mutters, “i figured you’d rather hear all this from someone who also thinks she’s kind of full of it”

ִ ࣪𖤐◞ ꙳ ๋࣭ ⭑ `thrifting, sam winchester
Summary: You take Sam thrifting. Word Count: 831 Pairing: Sam Winchester x Fem!Reader I absolutely love thrifting, so I thought Sam would be the one that’s the most willing out of the brothers to join! <3 Plus it's a sense of normalcy for once lol
Initially, Sam insisted that you didn’t need to go thrifting. In fact, he tried to hold you back, just in case you were to get hurt without either of the brothers there.
You had practically begged Sam to join you, ‘just this one time,’ you’d plead. ‘Please, Sammy, come with me. You’ll love it.’
After a lot of consistent talk, he gave in. You even insisted on driving there yourself, just so he could relax before you talk his ear off about how good thrifting actually is.
You arrive there early, knowing that sometimes the queue can feel like it’s miles long. Sam rubs his eyes, the redness and bed head indicate he’s still tired. He yawns. “How much longer will this take? I’m bored already,” he groans, and you shove him playfully. “Quit moaning, Winchester. The fun hasn’t even begun yet.” You say, and he huffs like a little kid.
As you walk inside, people clamour to the baskets and carts, darting through the store to ensure they get the best deals. Whilst you, you take your time as you know that rushing means you won’t find the hidden treasures. Sam follows close behind you. Acknowledging Sam’s moodiness, you B-Line straight to the men’s section, instantly searching through sweaters and jackets. You flick through multiple unique items of clothing. “What about this one?” You ask him, picking a muted light blue Nike hoodie, the logo embroidered in the middle with ‘NIKE’ written above it. Sam’s head turns quickly, gently taking the hoodie from you. “Wow, this is nice, actually…” He examines it, holding it up to his torso. “It looks exactly like the one I had back in college.”
“See? This is exciting! Now you can relive your college years. Which was many, many years ago.”
“Hey,” Sam whines playfully, folding the hoodie and placing it in the cart. You slide through more items, finding another Nike hoodie, this time in black. Sam didn’t look it over this time before putting it into the cart.
After finding a few unique pieces for Sam’s wardrobe, you move upward toward the jackets and coats. It feels like there are thousands of Carhartt-style jackets, all similar shades of brown. You watch him as he searches through himself, and you take a quick gander before he lands on something quite rare. The tag reads ‘Carhartt’. The label itself is hand-sewn into the back of the jacket, stamped with 1980 underneath the brand name. Your eyes widen and you hold it up to Sam, who’s still searching through the garments. His head turns to you, pulling a ‘wow, that’s-a-really-nice-jacket’ face. He gently takes the coat from you, taking it off the hanger and puts it on. He can’t hide his smile as it fits his frame almost perfectly. The right amount of bagginess on the underarm, the length just reaching his hips. Sam usually has trouble finding the right clothes that are long enough for him, so this is an amazing find.
After just over an hour of searching for Sam, it’s your turn. The pair of you head over to the women’s section, the bright colours instantly catching your eye. You sift through the pinks, blues and whites - before settling on the darker, earthier colours. As nice as it would be to be able to wear lighter colours, you feel as if you wouldn’t actually get a chance to wear the prettier clothes. You know it’s best to wear darker colours for hunts, so you blend in easier.
You pick up a lovely maroon, deep wine slim fit v-neck vest. You look it over, and it’s in nearly perfect condition. Without thinking more of it, you put it in your cart. “Y/N,” Sam calls, and you turn around. He’s further down the aisle, holding up a pair of vintage jeans. They’re flared at the bottom, the pockets at the back display a beautiful array of embellished sequins, creating a cross that covers the whole pockets. The front pockets have inner pockets with buttons on them, a swirl pattern embroidered with lighter and darker denim. You swear you can feel your eyes fall out of your head. “Sam, what the hell,” you exclaim, walking toward him with an excited grin on your face. He laughs at you. “They’re gorgeous.” You say, aligning the jeans with your hips, measuring whether they can fit. Either way, you throw them in your cart. They’re too good to pass up. Sam clearly has a keen eye for unique items of clothing.
You both enter the Impala, a couple of enormous bags taking up the back seat. “You happy to be done?” You ask Sam, and he pauses. “Honestly? That was fun. I take back my grumpiness from this morning.”
“Yeah, you better, ‘cause you’re coming with me all the time now. You’re my good luck charm.” You nudge him, and he rolls his eyes blithely, with a smirk on his face. Your lonely shopping days are finally over.
