itoshi rin x f!reader - 18+ only, you find out how much rin likes lingerie

you know rin’s not that experienced. to be honest, neither are you. both of you have been tip-toeing around the other when it comes to being intimate, and you’re finally sick of it.
so what do you do?
you order a fuckton of lingerie.
you don’t want to scare rin with dildos and straps and paddles—although you do think about spanking him fairly regularly—but you do think your normally tight-lipped boyfriend will like this. men like pretty things, right?
so when you walk into your living room wearing a white satin set that barely covers you, you’re hoping he at least reacts.
there’s a mirror in your bedroom that you’ve never even considered adding to your sex play, but rin kneels you in front of it and wrenches your chin up with a hand. you catch his eye in the glass; his cheeks are flushed, eyes wild, mouth starting to hang open the way you’ve only seen when he’s playing soccer.
“you wore this for me?”
he slots his cock in between your thighs. you gasp - you don’t even know when he took his shorts off.
“yeah. there are others too, if you’d like to see them.”
he paws at your hips, holding you still as he
“touch your tits for me,” he says. “wanna see how nice they look popping out of this bra.”
rin’s never effusive during sex. if anything, you’ve asked him to be more vocal. the way he’s talking to you now makes your head spin. you don’t want it to stop.
“you’re wet, aren’t you?
pre-cum drips from rin’s cock, mingling with the slick already dampening your panties. you tweak one nipple and groan, both at the zip of pain and the hungry expression on rin’s face. he’s close and you know it, and you’ve never wanted to see your boyfriend come undone more than now.
“look at me when you come, rin, please,” you say, and the grip on your hip tightens.
“it’s gonna be quick tonight,” he says through clenched teeth, an admittance you know he hates. “you look so pretty, I can’t help it.”
you cheat a little and tightly fist the tip of his cock. his hips stutter, and with a low groan, he cums, semen spurting the front of the mirror.
before he picks you up to take you to the bed, he tells you to wear something new tomorrow night.

— the only exception.

pairing: rin itoshi x gn!reader
premise: itoshi rin isn’t a very likable person in general. he’s rude and doesn’t have any respect for anyone, well other than you. quite literally attached to the hip, you were the only one that rin actually ‘tolerates’. everyone still wonders why you even put up with him, but dear, if they actually cared enough to look past his icy exterior maybe then they’d be rewarded with the soft and clingy rin you knew.
— warnings: ooc-rin (??), just rin fluff
— author’s note: this is reupload from my old blog ( syriiina ). i also might start writing for bllk again so yippie!! art credits to @l_An_pi on twt.
— tags: @ryescapades @mitsvriii @laterosal @mikashisus @powchakko ; if you’d like to be tagged, please fill out the form on my pinned or send me an ask off anon!
“rin!” you shouted, hands frankly waving from the stands as the tall boy jogged towards you. leaning over the railing, hands neatly folded in front of you as you grinned at your sweaty friend who only raised a brow at you. “do you wanna go to the arcade later after practice?”
from the corner of your vision, you could see his teammates speak in hushed tones. you couldn’t help the amused chuckle in your throat as you patiently waited for rin to answer your invitation.
“why not?” you grinned, “we’ll be done in 10 minutes, mind waiting for me?” you just nodded and sat down on one of the vacant seats of the seating area while rin jogged back to the field with his teammates. laughing at how his team was interrogating the poor boy.
10 minutes flew by quickly, at this point you had stood up from your seat and made your way back to the entrance, waiting for rin to finish his shower and change. a few more minutes passed by before you heard the soft padding of footsteps behind you. it wasn’t long when a tap on your shoulder made you look up from your phone. grinning when familiar eyes with long under lashes came to greet you.
“you ready to go?” duffel bag carelessly slung over his shoulder, he followed you out of the school and to the arcade you had mentioned earlier. “you seem happy for a trip to the arcade.” he said, tugging at your hand slightly when you were near the crossing –he was making sure you didn’t get run over by a vehicle – before letting go and instead taking hold of your bag.
unlocking your phone, you showed rin of the new crane machine that had been installed a few days ago. “aren’t those machines scams?” he asked you, flailing your arms around a bit saying that’s not the point. he only sighed and let you ramble about how the plushies in the machine were cute.
“you’ll help me get one right?”
“no.”
you knew it was a lie.
by the time you made it to the arcade, you made a beeline to the new crane machine while rin got the tokens. he sighed again when he saw you beckoning him over, eager to play the scam machine to try and get a plushie that wasn’t even worth all the hassle.
“rin let’s go get lunch!”
no one was really surprised by your presence when you were by the door of the classroom, already anticipating your arrival minutes prior. it was exactly noon, meaning you’ll be by the classroom door waiting for itoshi rin to finish packing up to go get lunch at the cafeteria.
“no packed lunch today?” he asked, one hand shoved inside his pant pocket. you only shook your head, moving aside from the door to give room for rin to get out of the classroom, “not today, was too lazy to cook.”
as the taller male closed the door, everyone began to wonder as usual. someone as stoic and indifferent as itoshi rin hanging out with you, they thought of it as a strange combo but neither of you ever really bothered to care about how people perceived your relationship.
“i hope the strawberry cheesecake isn’t sold out yet.”
from the corner of his eye, rin saw the silver bracelet move along with your hand as you got your wallet out of your pockets. gaze lingering more than he should, “rin? you good there?” you asked but he only nodded his head. turning his focus on the corridor buzzing with students but every now and then, he’d take glances at you.
you always never bother pointing it out. you take pleasure in the simple normalcy routine with rin.
“sorry i’m hanging out with rin later! maybe next time?”
“i’ll pass for today, i promised rin i’d help him with homework.”
“i’m going to watch rin’s match, i’ll see you guys later!”
“oh right rin said he needed some new pens. be right back!”
“rin let’s go eat lunch! i packed a bento for the both of us!”
“not eating with itoshi today?” your friend asked as she pulled out the chair in front of you, taking out her own lunch and placing it on your table. you only shook your head, “already finished. he’s at practice now.”
her gaze lingered a little over your figure, you only tilted your head to the side, “is there something on my face?”
“no, no, it’s just…”
“just?” taking another bite of your lunch you patiently waited for your friend to ask her question.
“you and itoshi seem really close.”
you just shrugged, continuing to eat your lunch as she sighed. the both of you were enveloped in silence for a while before she asked another question.
“i’m a bit surprised you put up with him. i mean, didn’t you say you don’t really like people like him?”
that question made you stop chewing and begin to ponder. it didn’t take long for you to come up with an answer, “he isn’t so bad if you get to know him well enough.” you said with a smile. almost laughing at your friend’s face as she gave you a bewildered face.
“seriously? he didn’t brainwash you or anything did he?”
letting out a laugh, you waved your hand, “you watch way too many movies. no, he didn’t brainwash me or anything.”she sighed and just continued to eat her lunch.
itoshi rin may not be the most likable student, but you like him. he may not show it but he truly does care. all does impromptu visits to arcades, tugging at your sleeve, arm, and even hand in some occasions to make sure you didn’t stray too far from him, getting you those plushies in the crane machine even if it takes hours, coming over to your place to help you cook lunch for the next day because he knows you hate the food in the cafeteria most of the time, giving you his jersey so you could wear it during his match. itoshi rin shows his affection in his own unique and simple ways.
they don’t know him like you do. they knew the rin who’s stoic, rude, disrespectful and arrogant. but you? the rin you know is kind, caring, sweet, a bit rough around the edges but he’s your rin. the rin you wouldn’t trade for the world.
if only they knew that he was the one that gifted you the silver bracelet that adorned your wrist – his name engraved on the inside – when he first confessed. and they’ll never know how there’s a silver chain around his neck with a ring – your initial delicately engraved on it – that he always wears no matter where he goes.
no one knows of your relationship. no one needed to know of your relationship.
rin from the very beginning was a private person, and you never minded. after all, why would you complain when you have him all for yourself?

“set me up with rin”
you slammed your hands against the hard wood table. scaring the shit out of shidou and aiku
“jesus fuck!” shidou puts a hand on his chest
“feisty. i like it!” aiku reacts, doing a little finger gun
“you didn’t say the magic word” sae murmurs, completely unbothered by your whole ruckus. you could say he’s used to it at this point
your eyes widened hearing sae’s response. did he finally agree to help you out?
“pretty please” you bat your eyelashes at your best friend, who wasn’t even looking at you by the way. he was currently reading something off what seems to be the latest edition of a sports magazine
sae silently flips the magazine onto the next page before looking at you dead in the eye. you watch his mouth open, ready to hear a certain sentence you’ve been wanting to hear for the past few weeks
“no.” he says flatly before turning his attention back to the magazine
both shidou and aiku break into boisterous laughter. only to be silenced by the librarian
“shh!” the librarian shushes. “one more ruckus from your table and i’m kicking the four of you out!” she whisper-yells, typing away on her computer
you dramatically slide into the seat next to sae, leaning on his shoulder as you reach over to tug his hand
“sae c’mon! you know i like him! so do me a favor as your favorite friend and set me up with your cute little brother” you cried out, tugging on his hand again and again
sae clicks his tongue in annoyance and snatches his hand back
“that’s exactly why i won’t set you up with him” sae grimaces
“and that is?!”
“that you like my little brother” sae says casually. closing the damned magazine and tossing it to shidou who was busy laughing at something on his phone with aiku
“that’s barely a reason” you point out, “would it kill you to help your friend that's desperate for a lover?" you add, dramatically falling limp onto his lap
sae pinches the bridge of his nose in sheer annoyance. he's heard of this dramatic monologue of yours for a hot minute. ever since he introduced you to his brother, you have not shut up about him since.
it was a mistake on sae's end. he shouldn't have brought you, along with shidou and aiku along for dinner back at his place but it was his mom who pestered him into bringing you guys over for dinner as his mother wanted to meet who sae's friends at college were
"i didn't know y/n-chan was into younger men" shidou quips, poking your nose as you glared daggers at his face
"rin is just like a year younger than sae, let alone me" you retort
"point still stands, y/n-chan" aiku chimes in a sing-song voice, "why do you like him anyway and not the hotter, better and wiser older brother here?" he continues
you dreamily sigh, still on sae's lap as you think about rin
"well first of all, he's a cutie. second, he gives me tsundere vibes but then again, his brother right here is the same kind so i'm pretty sure it runs in the family and... i guess that's about it" you list off the nice things you can say about rin from the top of your head, "no offense sae, i think you're hot and all but just not my type" you poke your tongue at your best friend who only flicks your forehead in retaliation
"that's it?" shidou asks, feeling a little anti climactic about the whole thing. to him it sounded like you had a good reasons on why you were crushing hard on the other itoshi
"oh! and the fact that he's 6'1" you clasp your hands together, "and also that he's trying so hard to be the star player at our local college team and i find it really cute" you gush
"he obviously doesn't have a choice but to try and beat his hotter and better older brother. right, rin?" sae nudges someone beside him.
wait a second, did he just call out to rin?
you quickly scramble off sae's lap, bumping your head against the table in the process
both aiku and shidou let out an "oof, that's gotta hurt" making you more embarrassed than you already are. you glared at them for a brief second before turning your head to the side to see rin looking all confused and to be honest, a little weirded out
"hey rin. what brings you here?" you sweetly wave at the younger itoshi in front of you.
from the corner of your eye, you can see sae rolling his eyes and mumbling "dumbass" under his breath. before you can smack sae, rin speaks up
"my brother" rin nods his head towards sae who only gives him a look of annoyance before motioning him to spit out whatever he came for
"coach says there's been a change of plans regarding the away games and wants to have a team meeting later at the field" rin reports all stoic
sae huffs, "you couldn't just texted me this information or?"
"you blocked my number, remember?" rin rolls his eyes, gripping on his sling bag.
you let out a little gasp and smacked sae on his shoulder upon hearing the news that your best friend has blocked his little brother's number.
"sae! why would you block your brother?!" you nag, wagging your finger in front of sae's face. sae swats your hand away before he attempts to grab rin for pushing him under the bus like that when you're around
"anyway, that's all. also, mom wants you home for dinner. bye guys, bye y/n" rin shyly waves at you before he trudges away out of the library, away from his brother's impending wrath
as rin disappears from sight, suddenly an idea pops into your mind. it's just a simple favor. the next time you see him, you'll ask rin for his help, and maybe, just maybe, it will lead to something more.
"that little runt.. he's gonna get it from me" sae hisses, pulling out his phone to probably unblock rin now that you know that he got his brother blocked. sae looks over at your face in case you were about to yell his ear off but instead he was greeted with a little smile on your face
oh no. he knows that devious smile of yours
"my dearest beloved sae.. put in a good word for me to rin, would ya?" you wink

your boyfriend has just returned home from an international match, missing you oh so greatly.

“smile a ‘lil bit, will you?”
you say as you hear the front door creak open. standing before you is your boyfriend, itoshi rin, who just came back from a match overseas. a tired look folds before a content smile on his face.
you stand up, crossing the room to meet him as you extend your arms open for him. rin gives a small hum in response, but there's warmth in his eyes as he steps into your embrace. his arms wrap around you, holding you close as he nuzzles his head into the crook of your neck.
as he holds you close, he inhales deeply, taking in the familiar scent of your cologne. it's a scent that reminds him of home, of lazy sunday mornings spent tangled in bedsheets, of quiet evenings curled up on the couch together. of you, every single thing about you.
“missed you,” he slurs softly, muffled against your skin.
running your finger through his hair, you reply, “missed you too, rinnie,” cherishing the moment of closeness after his time away. "but you're here now, and that's all that matters."
“yeah, i’m here,” he trails off.
"but i still miss you.”
your heart swells at his words, and you reach up to cup his cheek, your thumb brushing over his stubbled jaw. "i’m here now, baby. we’re together again.”
rin's arms tighten around you, pulling you impossibly closer. "did i say i love you?” he asks.
you tilt your head slightly, meeting rin's gaze with tenderness, “a hundred times over the phone, rin,”
“‘kay,” rin's lips find yours in a tender kiss, it feels like a kiss of longing. “not through messages or calls this time,”
“i love you, so much. you don’t get it.”
you return his sentiment with a warm smile, feeling the depth of his love echoing in your heart. “i get it, baby.”
“i love you even more. and you will get it because you’re finally back home with me.”

CHRONICLES OF A LOVESTRUCK BOY
PAIRING: rin itoshi x gn!reader
SYNOPSIS: rin doesn’t care how he’s perceived by others—aloof, cold, grumpy—you name it. but deep down, rin itoshi, is no better than an immature teenage boy, especially when you’re around and rin realizes that maybe sometimes it’s still okay to be a kid.
wordcount: 0.7k | content & warnings: established relationship, fluff, very light angst if you squint, rin and reader are head over heels for each other (boo cheesy) ; drabble
art credits: sono_Zha on X!
author's note: i still didnt watch bllk season 2 LMFAO and uhm sorry for the writing hiatus...but hey..i'm back!! (hopefully) only thing i saw was rin with his tongue stuck out #callmewhatyouwantcallmewhatyouneed
“do i seriously have to wear this?” rin grumbles. you look behind and catch a glimpse of his unimpressed cerulean eyes, directly staring at you, and you can’t help but chuckle. but neither his sour expression nor his rosy-tinted cheeks caught your attention—no, it was the small christmas tree hair clip that clipped his fringe back.
rin’s hair wasn’t short enough to rest on his forehead without covering his eyes, nor was it long enough to tuck behind his ears. your solution? buy your boyfriend a hair clip as a gift. to say that rin was happy about the gift would be an understatement. no, really. he was beyond excited—over the moon even.
(as you handed him the wrapped gift you were already cracking a laugh, and seeing rin’s disbelieving face as he opened it, made you burst into laughter—from there on rin stared at you for 5 minutes, not saying a single word.)
“come on “mr. rin goes to uni and leaves with a complaint-degree-itoshi” it’s cute. don’t lie.” you chide gleefully. “if you play another one of these word games, i’m gonna leave.” rin states nonchalantly, avoiding your gaze.
the both of you know that he isn’t being serious, still, you play along. “you wouldn’t dare,” you express dramatically as you try to stifle your laughter. rin looks back at you and his eyes soften. “‘cause you love me too much to ever leave me or am i wrong?” and for the first time this evening, rin cracks a small smile. the gesture is followed by the shake of his head and grabbing your hand to drag you to the photo booth. “let’s go.”
you trail after him, and feel how his hand squeezes yours tighter. it’s his version of telling you that you shouldn’t get lost in the crowd and should stay by his side. instead of walking slightly behind rin, you catch up to him and now walk next to him.
“rin, you haven’t answered my question from before,” you mention, and rin halts, slightly tilting his head like a small confused pup which makes you smile. before you know it, his eyes are gleaming and he lets out a small sigh of relief. “there’s no need for me to answer a question to which you already know my response.” your smile widens, and rin continues to guide you through the crowd.
arriving at the photo booth, you signal rin to slightly lean down and he complies. you reach out your hand and brush the snow out of his hair. “there, looking pretty as always.” you compliment him, and rin shakes his head. “says you,” and you chuckle before getting into the photo booth.
there’s four pictures for each strip, so you and rin make the best out of it. the poses range from goofing around, leaning one’s head on the shoulder, or a kiss on the cheek. after the pictures were done printing you took them out and proudly showed them to him.
seeing how joyous and excited you were for a mere photo strip made him feel warm. it wasn’t that he was against taking pictures with you, no, in fact, he loved it. your smile was always contagious and you were beaming from ear to ear that even rin couldn’t help but smile.
the reason why he didn’t want to take the pictures or at least avoid looking at them after they were done printing was because of him wearing the hair clip. it wasn’t that he disliked your gift, but he just looked like someone he didn’t want to. rin was scared that when he’d look at the pictures it wasn’t him you were standing next to but his brother.
you knew that rin had a rivalry with his brother going on—become the best striker in the world to prove to him that he can do it without sae. but he never went into detail about how sae’s absence affected him, how whenever he stared into the mirror and clipped his hair back, it wasn’t his reflection that stared back but the one from his brothers.
but how could he ever think that when you’re here, laughing over how cute he looked and that he should wear it more often? is this what people mean when they say that they’re going to miss a moment they’re currently experiencing?
the cold, everlasting winter leaves behind layers of snow that stick and cover the ground as a whole before melting into puddles of water when the sun appears behind the clouds, granting its rays to the earth and sending its warmth to those who are stuck in capsules of melancholy.
for rin there’s no more precious gift than you.
additional: a few weeks later you visit rin, and spot the photo strip glued to his mirror and you can’t help but crack a small smile.

ᓚᘏᗢ — eternal echoes. rin itoshi.
synopsis: in which it doesn't matter which year it is, you and rin itoshi would always find back to each other.
warnings: death (it's a semi-happy ending). wc: 5,7k
note: i enjoyed writing this too much aaa!! sad letters are my thing 💔💔
year 1858. emperor and empress.
the first time you met him, you were royalty.
rin was the emperor of a vast, sun-drenched kingdom in ancient japan, his rule as unyielding as the mountains that bordered his lands. you were the daughter of a powerful daimyo, your marriage to him a strategic alliance meant to unite your families and bring stability to the region.
you did not expect to fall in love with him. but the moment you saw him standing at the altar, his eyes meeting yours, you felt it. that pull. that magnetic pull.
the wedding was a grand affair, held in the imperial palace. the air was thick with the scent of cherry blossoms, the sound of traditional instruments filling the courtyard. but all you could focus on was him. rin. the way his hand felt in yours, the way his voice sounded as he recited his vows, the way he looked at you like you were the only person in the room.
"do you think we shall be reincarnated as a married couple as well?" you asked him one night, as you stood on the balcony of the palace, the moon casting a silver glow over the gardens below.
he didn't answer right away. instead, he reached for your hand, his fingers intertwining with yours. "perhaps," he said finally. "in another life."
you didn't know if he meant it, but it didn't matter. because in that moment, you knew you'd follow him anywhere.
your life together was full of challenges. political intrigue, wars, the weight of ruling an empire. but through it all, you had each other. and that was enough.
until it wasn't.
the war came suddenly, like a storm that had been brewing on the horizon for years. rin led his armies to the front lines, his determination as fierce as the fire in his eyes. you stayed behind, ruling in his absence, but your heart was with him.
when the news came, it was like the world has stopped.
rin had been gravely injured in battle.
you rushed to the battlefield, your heart racing. the sight that greeted you was one of chaos, smoke and blood and the cries of the wounded. but all you could see was him.
he was lying on a wooden bunk, his armor stained with blood, his face pale and fatigued. but when he saw you, he smiled. a smile, a faint smile, but it was enough.
"you have come," he said, his voice weak but filled with warmth.
"how could i have stayed away?," you asked, your voice breaking as you knelt beside him.
he reached for your hand, his fingers intertwining with yours. "forgive me," he whispered.
"do not," you said, tears streaming down your face. "do not apologize. only stay with me."
silence stretched between you before he spoke. instead, his eyes locked onto yours, searching for an answer. "in another life," he said finally. "in another life, i shall seek thee out and find thee once more."
and then, as the tears fell and the world faded away, he was gone.
you held him in your arms, the weight of his body a cruel reminder of what you had lost. but even as the pain threatened to consume you, you held on to his words.
"and i shall find thee too," you whispered, your voice barely above a whisper.
year 1898. true fate.
the second time, you were philosophers.
you met in the bustling streets of kyoto, the city alive with the energy of scholars and seekers, all drawn to the ancient capital in pursuit of wisdom. you had come to study under a renowned master, your heart set on unraveling the mysterious of existence. but it wasn't the teachings of your mentor that would change your life. it was him.
rin.
he was standing on a wooden platform in the heart of the marketplace, his voice flowing smoothly over the crowd’s murmurs. rin's words were sharp, thougtful, cutting through the noise with an intensity that demanded attention. you stopped to listen, drawn not just by the sound of his voice but by the way he carried himself.
"the universe is not confined to our understanding," he said, scanning the crowd. "it exists beyond our perceptions, beyond our fears, beyond our desires. to seek truth is to acknowledge that we may never grasp it."
the crowd murmured, some nodding in agreement, others shaking their heads in dissent. but you stood there, mesmerized and fascinated.
when the lecture ended, you approached him, your hands clutching the scrolls you had been carrying. "your words," you began, your voice trembling slightly, "they have struck a chord within me."
he turned to you. "did they truly?"
you nodded, your throat suddenly dry. "indeed, i have long held that truth is not an object to be possessed, but a pursuit we must forever follow."
a faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "you are different," he said.
"what is it you mean?"
"most people come to these debates with the intent to prove their righteousness," he said. "you, however, came to listen."
you felt your cheeks flushed, but you held his gaze. "i believe there is more to be learned from the questions we ask than from the answers we claim to have."
he studied you for a moment, his eyes, those beautiful eyes, searching yours. then he nodded, as if he had found something he was looking for. "come with me," he said.
you followed him to a quiet spot by the kamo river, where the water reflected the lanterns that lined the banks. the night was cool, the air filled with the soft chirping of crickets and the distant sound of laughter. you sat beside him on the grass, the silence between you comfortable, almost familiar.
"do you believe in fate?" you asked after a while, your voice soft.
no answer from him. instead, he looked out at the river, his expression thoughtful. "i believe in choices, yes," he said finally. "but i also hold that some things are simply inevitable."
"like what?"
he turned to you, his eyes meeting yours. "like this," he said.
your breath caught in your throat. "what do you mean?"
"i mean," he said, his voice barely above a whisper, "it is as if i have known you before. as though we have spoken these words a thousand times, across a thousand different lives."
"do you think such thing is possible?" you asked, your voice trembling. "to find one another again, in another life?"
"yes."
year 1924. poetry lives forever.
the third time, you were writers.
you met in a small, dimly lit café tucked away in the heart of milan. the air smelled of coffee and old books, and the sound of rain tapping against the windows filled the silence. he sat at a corner table, his hair falling into his eyes as he scribbled furiously in a notebook.
you noticed him immediately. not just because he was beautiful, though he was, but because there was something about him that felt familiar.
you didn't mean to approach him. but when you dropped your pen and it rolled to his feet, he looked up, and your eyes met. for a moment, the world stopped.
"yours?" he asked, holding up the pen.
you nodded. "thank you."
he handed it to you, his fingers brushing against yours.
"i am rin," he said, his voice low.
you told him your name, and he smiled.
that was the beginning.
you started meeting at the café every day. he was working on a novel, and you were writing poetry. at first, you talked about your work, his characters, your metaphors, the way words could build worlds. but soon, the conversations turned deeper. you talked about life, about dreams, about the things that kept you up at night.
"do you ever feel, as though you are endlessly searching for something, though you cannot name it?" you asked him one evening, as the two of you sat by the window, the rain still falling outside.
he looked at you. "all the time," he said. "yet i do not know what it is."
you didn't know either. but you knew that being with him felt like coming home.
one day, you showed him a poem you had written. it was about reincarnation, about the idea that souls find each other again and again, across lifetimes.
"i'll find you in another life," you read aloud, your voice trembling slightly. "no matter where you are, no matter who you become, i'll find you."
when you finished, you looked up at him, scared of his reaction. he was silent for a long time. what did he think?
"how beautiful," he said finally, his voice low.
you felt your cheeks flush. "thank you."
he reached for your notebook, his fingers brushing against yours. "may i read it once more?"
you nodded, handing it to him. he read the poem slowly, his eyes scanning the words as if committing them to memory. when he finished, he looked up at you.
"how curious. i, too, write of reincarnation," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"you do?"
he nodded. "it speaks of two souls bound by an eternal pull, always finding one another, lifetime after lifetime. they do not always recall their past encounters, but the connection that never fades."
your breath caught in your throat. "do they ever uncover the reason?"
he looked out the window, his demeanor reflective. "i believe it is because they are destined to be together," he said finally. "though first they must release all that holds them apart."
you felt your chest tighten. "do you think such thing is possible?"
he turned to you, his eyes meeting yours. "i do not know," he said. "but i believe it is worth seeking, with all that i am."
year 1941. childhood best friends.
the fourth time, you were childhood friends.
it was 1941, in a calm, tiny city. the world was on the brink of war, but in your small corner of the world, life was simple. rin and you grew up next door to each other, your lives intertwined from the moment you could walk.
you spent your days exploring the woods behind your houses, building forts out of fallen branches, and chasing fireflies as the sun dipped below the horizon. rin was quiet, even then, but he had a way of making you feel like you were the only person in the world.
"do you think we will always be friends?" you asked him one summer evening, as the two of you lay on the grass, the stars stretching out above you.
he reached for your hand, his fingers intertwining with yours before answering.
"i think we will always be more than friends," he said finally.
as the war loomed closer, the atmosphere in your small town grew tense. boys you had grown up with began to enlist, their faces filled with a mixture of fear and determination.
rin, however, stayed behind. at least for a while.
"are you not going? why?" you asked him one evening, as the two of you sat on the porch swing, the sound of crickets filling the air.
he looked out at the horizon. "i don't know," he said. "i just feel like i am supposed to be here."
but eventually, the call to duty became too strong to ignore. the day told you he was enlisting, the world seemed to stop.
"i have to go," he said, his voice steady but his eyes betraying the weight of his decision.
you felt your chest tighten. "i will write to you," you said, tears slipping. "every day."
he smiled. "i will write back," he promised.
the letters started almost immediately.
rin's first letter arrived just a few weeks after he left. it was short, just a few lines scribbled on a piece of paper, but it was enough to make your heart soar.
"dear y/n,
i miss your voice. the nights here are too quiet, and i hate it.
are you doing okay? tell my parents i am fine, even if it is a lie. tell me about home, about anything. just write to me.
i miss you. more than i should.
rin."
you wrote back immediately, pouring your heart onto the page.
"beloved rin,
thank you for keeping your promise, but it feels so empty without you. the town is the same, yet it feels like a ghost town - maybe it is just me. there are more women than men, though. did they all enlist, too? i do not remember. i only remember you.
school is dull without you. who should i tell about the stars now? i don't even know what is happening in the world anymore. only that you are not here.
every night, i look at the stars and wish for you to come back.
promise me you will.
please come back. i miss you. so much.
sincerely,
y/n"
his letters became your lifeline. they were filled with stories of the other soldiers, of the places he had seen, of the things he had learned. but they were also filled with something else. something deeper, something that made your chest ache.
"dear y/n,
i dreamt of you last night. even though my nights are restless, i forced myself to sleep for a few minutes, and there you were - just like always. we were home again, lying on the grass, watching the stars. you were talking, but i do not remember what you said.
i only remember the way you looked at me, the way the night felt warm, like nothing in the world could do anything to us.
it felt real. too real. like we had done it before, maybe in another life. maybe in a life where i never had to leave.
i miss you too. more than i can say. more than i should.
i will come back.
rin."
you wrote back, your hands trembling as you held the pen.
"my beloved rin,
i dreamt of you too. maybe it is fate. maybe we were always meant to find each other, in this life or another. i like to think that no matter where we go, no matter how far, we will always find our way back. don't you think so too?
i can not wait to see you again. but you did not promise me you would come back. you almost did, but not quite. do it next time, okay? you would not want me to be sad, would you?
i love you i miss you more than words can hold. some nights, it feels unbearable.
sincerely,
y/n"
but then, one day, the letters stopped.
at first, you told yourself it was just the mail being delayed. but as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, the silence became unbearable.
you wrote to him every day, your letters filled with hope and fear and longing. but there was no response.
"my beloved rin,
it has been weeks since your last letter, and every passing day feels like an eternity. i tell myself that you are just busy, that the war keeps you from writing, that the mail is slow. but the silence is louder than any excuse i can make for you. and maybe, just maybe, you have chosen it.
i tell myself a thousand little lies just to keep my heart from breaking, but i think it is already shattered.
i do not know if you are safe. i do not know if you are cold or hungry, if you have enough to eat, if you have made friends or if you are alone. i do not know if you still think of me. if, in the quiet moments between gunfire and marching orders, you close your eyes and see my face the way i see yours every time i close mine.
i miss you. i miss you in ways that feel unbearable, in ways that make it hard to breathe. i miss your voice, the way it could turn the worst days into something softer. i miss your laugh, the one you used to hide behind your hand when i said something ridiculous. i miss the way you used to hold me, like i was something precious, something you could not bear to lose. and yet here i am. lost. left behind. abandoned to empty nights and unanswered letters.
i still look at the stars, rin. every night. just like we used to. i try to find the constellations you loved, the ones you traced with your fingers against the sky, whispering their names like a prayer. and sometimes, for just a moment, i let myself believe that maybe you are looking at them too. that maybe, somewhere across this vast, war-torn world, you remember me.
but what if you do not? what if the war has changed you? what if the boy i love has been swallowed by something i will never understand? what if i am writing to someone who no longer exists?
i want to be angry with you. i want to scream and curse your name for leaving me behind, for choosing this war over me, for breaking every promise you ever made. you once swore you would never leave me, do you remember that? do you remember pressing your forehead against mine and whispering, "always. no matter what."
was that a lie, rin? or did you just not think i was worth staying for?
i know you wanted to be someone great. i know you thought enlisting would make you a man, that it would give your life purpose. but what about our life? did it ever hold any meaning for you? or was i just a quiet part of a life you were always meant to outgrow?
i try to be strong. i try to go about my days as if i am not coming apart at the seams. but everything reminds me of you. the sounds of boots against the pavement. the scent of fresh rain on the earth. the way the wind moves through the trees.
i wish i would have told you my feelings i hold for you. i wish i would have told you how much i love you and how you should not go to the war. that you are walking into death.
i have to ask. do you miss me at all? or has the war taken even that from you?
i do not know how much longer i can do this. how much longer i can keep waiting for letters that may never come, for a love that may no longer exist, for a boy who may already be gone. i do not know if you are alive, and that uncertainty is eating me alive, rin.
but if you are alive. if you are still out there, still breathing, still the same boy who once swore we would always be together. please. please write back. even if it is just to tell me that i no longer have a place in your heart. at least then, i will know to stop waiting.
with all the love i have left,
y/n"
but there was no response.
"do you think he is okay?" you asked your mother one evening, your voice trembling.
she didn't answer right away. instead, she reached for your hand, her fingers intertwining with yours. "i don't know, dear," she said finally. "but i think he would want you to keep living."
you didn't know what to say to that. but as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, you began to understand.
one night, as you lay on the grass, it felt like rin was laying right beside you.
"i will find you," you whispered, your voice barely above a whisper. "in another life, i will find you again."
and as the tears fell and the world faded away, you knew it was true.
year 1997. poetry truly lives forever.
the fifth time, you were desk mates.
the world felt both vast and small at the same time. you were both in high school, sitting in a classroom that smelled like chalk dust and old books. the desks were arranged in neat rows, and you found yourself seated next to him. rin itoshi. he was quiet, always scribbling in a notebook, his dark hair falling into his eyes as he focused on whatever he was writing. you didn't know much about him, but there was something about him, but it seemed like you couldn't figure that out.
the teacher stood at the front of the room, holding a worn anthology of poetry. "today," she said, her voice crisp and clear, "we will be analyzing a poem by y/n l/n, a poet from the 1920s. y/n, since you share her name, why don't you read it aloud for us?"
of course you have to read it a loud. you were named after the poet. your mother loved her since she was a kid. still, your heart skipped a beat. you weren't used to being called on, especially not in front of the whole class. but you stood up, clutching the book in your hands, and began to read.
"i'll find you in another life," you read aloud, your voice trembling slightly. "no matter where you are, no matter who you become, i'll find you. across lifetimes, across oceans, across the stars. i'll find you."
the room was silent when you finished. you glanced up, your eyes instinctively finding rin's. he was staring at you, his expression unreadable, but there was something in his eyes, almost unsettling.
"thank you, y/n," your teacher said, breaking the silence. "now, let's discuss the themes of the poem. what do you think the poet is trying to convey?"
the class erupted into chatter, but you couldn't focus. you kept glancing at rin, who was now scribbling furiously in his notebook. when the bell rang, you gathered your things, but before you could leave, rin stopped you.
"that poem," he said, his voice low. "it's familiar."
you blinked, surprised. "familiar?"
he hesitated, then opened his notebook and handed it to you. inside were pages filled with his handwriting. lines and lines of poetry, all about reincarnation.
"i dreamt of you last night," one line read. "not as you are now, but as you were before. in another life, in another time, i knew you."
your breath caught in your throat. "you're writing about reincarnation too?"
he nodded, his dark eyes searching yours. "yeah. i don't know why, but it's like i can't stop thinking about it. about the idea that we've lived before. that we have met before."
you didn't know what to say. the poem you had just read, the words rin had written. it all felt too coincidental, too real.
"do you think it's possible?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper. "to find someone again, in another life?"
"i don't know," he said. "but if it is... i think i would find you."
your chest tightened, your heart pounding in your chest. "and if you did?"
he smiled. "i'd tell you the same thing i'm telling you now."
"what's that?"
"i'm glad i found you."
from that day on, the two of you became inseparable. you spent hours after school in the library, analyzing poems and sharing your own writing. rin's notebook became a treasure trove of stories about lifetimes and love, and you found yourself drawn to his words - and to him.
one day, as the two of you sat under a tree in the school courtyard, rin turned to you, his expression serious.
"would you try to find me in another life? if i would die today?" he asked.
you looked at him, surprised. "why would you say such things?"
"would you?" he ignored your question, his gaze unwavering, determined to get an answer out of you.
the weight of his question hung in the air, heavy and unrelenting. you hesitated. but then you looked into his eyes - those dark, intense eyes that always seemed to see right through you - and you knew your answer.
"yes," you said, your voice firm despite the tremor in your chest. "yes, rin, i would."
for a moment, he didn't respond. he just stared at you. then, without warning, he leaned in, his hand cupping your cheek as his lip met yours.
the kiss was soft at first, tentative, as if he was afraid you might pull away. but when you didn't, when you leaned into him instead, your hands gripping the front of his shirt, it deepened. deepened, becoming something more. something desperate, something aching, something that felt like it had been building for lifetimes.
when he finally pulled away, his forehead rested against yours, his breath warm against your skin.
"good," he whispered, his voice rough. "because i'd find you too. no matter what."
you didn't know what to answer, but you didn't need to. because in that moment, under the shade of the tree with the sound of the wind rustling through the leaves, you knew it was true.
no matter how many lives you lived, no matter how many times you had to start over, you would always find each other.
you thought.
year 1978. strangers.
the sixth time, you were strangers on a train.
it was a cold winter morning, and the train was packed with commuters. you sat by the window, your breath fogging up the glass as you stared out at the blur of snow-covered buildings rushing past. the rhythmic clatter of the train on the tracks was soothing, almost hypnotic, and you let yourself drift, your thoughts wandering.
that's when you saw him.
he was sitting across the aisle, his dark hair falling into his eyes as he stared down at a book. there was something about him - you feel like you know him, but this was your first time seeing him.
who was he?
you found yourself glancing at him more than once, your heart skipping a beat every time he turned a page or adjusted his scarf.
you didn't know why, but you felt drawn to him. like a magnet pulling you closer, even though you were sitting perfectly still.
days turned into weeks, and you began to notice him every morning. he always sat in the same spot, always reading, always quiet. you never spoke, but sometimes your eyes would meet, and for a brief moment, it felt like you knew each other for decades.
one morning, the train was unusually empty. you sat in your usual seat, and to your surprise, he sat down across from you.
"mind if i sit here?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.
you shook your head, your heart racing. "no, not at all."
for a while, neither of you spoke. he went back to his book, and you pretended to focus on yours. but then, out of nowhere, he looked up and said, "do we know each other?"
you blinked, surprised. "i don't think so, why?"
he hesitated, then closed his book and set it aside. "i don't know, i feel like we know each other from somewhere."
"oh," you said, as the train neared your station. "i have to leave. i'll see you around," you smiled at him before hurrying out the train.
the next morning, he wasn't there.
you waited, your heart sinking as the train pulled into the station and he didn't appear. the days turned into weeks, and still, there was no sign of him.
you didn't know why, but it felt like a piece of you was missing.
year 2025. bury your feelings.
the seventh time, you were his manager, though neither of you was happy about it.
rin itoshi was a force of nature on the soccer field, a prodigy who had no patience for rules, authority, or anyone telling him what to do. he'd gone through managers like water, firing them one after another, until his mother - a woman as formidable as she was elegant - decided enough was enough.
that's where you came in.
you were the daughter of a close family friend, a rising star in sports management with a reputation for being as stubborn as you were brilliant. when rin's mother assigned you to be his manager, you knew it wouldn't be easy. but you also knew you couldn't say no.
your first meeting was a disaster.
rin stormed into the sleek, modern office of the team's headquarters, his dark eyes blazing with barely contained fury.
"i don't need a manager," he snapped, his voice low and dangerous.
you didn't flinch. "good thing i'm not here to ask for your permission, then."
he glared at you, his jaw tightening. "you think you can handle this just because you're oh-so-brilliant?"
you met his gaze without hesitation. "i know it."
from that day on, your interactions were a battlefield. you pushed him harder than anyone ever had, demanding perfection in every drill, every practice, every match. he resisted at every turn, his pride bristling at the idea of someone telling him what to do.
"you're not my boss," he stared at you after one particularly intense practice session.
"you're right," you shot back, your voice sharp. "i'm the person who's going to make sure you don't waste your talent. whether you like it or not. i promised your parents."
he didn't respond, but the look he gave you could have melted steel.
despite the tension, there were brief moments when you saw something beneath the surface. like when he stayed late after practice, perfecting a shot until his hands were raw and his breath came in ragged gasps. or when he quietly helped a younger player with his technique, his usual arrogance replaced by something softer. every time, you were there, watching him.
one night, someone knocked at your apartment door.
you didn't want to open the door. it was late. too late for anyone to be standing in front of your door. but when you peeked through the peephole and saw rin standing there, you knew it was going to be one of those nights.
you took a deep breath and pulled the door open, ready for another round of heated arguments, only to freeze when you saw him.
he was leaning against the doorframe, his duffle bag hanging loosely from one hand, his other clutching his phone. his usually perfect hair was a mess, dark strands sticking to his forehead, and his pale face looked like he hadn't slept in days.
"what?" you asked, crossing your arms, though you couldn't help but noticed how his eyes, usually sharp and focused, were dull with exhaustion.
"i forgot my keys," he muttered, voice hoarse and rough. "can't get into my place, and i have no one to call."
you narrowed your eyes at him. "you expect me to let you in? just like that?"
rin's lips twisted in a familiar, defiant smirk, but it didn't reach his eyes. "what's the alternative? i sleep in my car?"
you felt the familiar flare of irritation rise up within you. you hated the way he always seemed to get under your skin. the way he acted like he was always one step ahead. but when you took a second look at him, pale, tired, and standing in your doorway like he was too exhausted to even be annoyed with you anymore, you felt a sudden, unwanted pang of sympathy.
"fine," you said, stepping aside reluctantly.
he stepped inside, shoulders sagging slightly as he dropped his bag by the door. there was a strange tension between you both as he stands there, not making eye contact, like neither of you knew what to say next.
the silence stretched, thick with the usual animosity, but there was something else hanging in the air, something you couldn't quite place.
"i didn't think you'd actually let me in," he muttered, looking at the floor.
you shrugged, turning toward the kitchen. "i didn’t think you’d show up at all. it’s not like we’re best friends, rin.”
you both knew it’s not the full truth. you had fought tooth and nail from the moment his mother handed him over to you as his manager, but somewhere along the way, the constant bickering had turned into something else. a little more tolerance. a little more understanding.
still, you couldn't let him off the hook that easily.
“you really should’ve called sae,” you added, tossing a bottle of water his way.
he caught it, staring at it for a second before his lips quirked upward, just a little. “are you teasing me?”
you almost smiled at that, despite yourself. “no.”
he sank into the couch, closing his eyes and leaning back, his exhaustion finally catching up with him. you could see it now. the way his shoulders were tense, the way his hands were trembling just a little as he took a sip of water.
it was almost strange, seeing him like this. the usual confident, untouchable athlete is gone, replaced by someone who looked human, vulnerable even. it made the usual anger between you feel a little more fragile, like it could break at any moment.
“do you need anything else?” you asked, trying to hide the slight softness in your voice.
rin shook his head, not opening his eyes. “just don’t make me go back out there. i don’t know where else to go.”
there was a heaviness in his words. and for the briefest moment, you thought about it, about how much of him had been buried beneath the mask of a football star. but you didn’t dwell on it.
you stepped back, pretending not to hear the vulnerability in his tone. “don’t get comfortable. you’re only staying for the night. i have a ton of work to do, and i'm not babysitting you.”
rin huffed out a laugh, even though it’s weak. “babysitting me? despite you being my manager, i'm still older than you.”
the tension between you two simmered beneath the surface. but for the first time, there was a flicker of something else in his eyes. it was fleeting, barely noticeable, but you caught it.
it was something like trust. or maybe need.
you couldn't tell.
but for now, you let him stay. and when you finally turned away to leave the room, you thought about how this felt like there was something the universe tried to tell you both.

Anticipation
Itoshi Rin/F!Reader
rating: explicit
summary: you’re cat sitting for Rin while he’s away, the distance between you encouraging you to ask for help with more intimate matters.
word count: 1.9k
warnings: phone sex
Requested!
“Your cat is an asshole.”
Your comment makes Rin snort, a rare amused sound leaving the stoic striker.
“He likes you more than me.”
“I doubt it.”
This time it’s a thoughtful hum that leaves him, your best friend clearly considering how he would try to convince you that his cat did actually like you. But instead he tells you that the fluffy menace was only your problem for a couple more days, then you were no longer at risk of having your feet swiped at from under various pieces of furniture in his apartment.
“It’ll be nice to have you back for the mid season break,” you comment, making your way to his bedroom to get ready for bed. Time zones had been tricky for his daily check ins, his practices rubbing late had him calling and leaving voicemails while you were asleep. This was the first time in about a week that you’d actually spoken to him, and that was only because you were staying up late to get to do that.
“Yeah, save you from my asshole cat.”
“We can have a movie night or something,” you suggest, getting comfortable in his bed that has become yours while he was gone. The sheets still smelled like him despite his absence, and you weren’t going to deny how nice it was to be surrounded by his scent. “A lot of good ones streaming now.”
“That’d be fine. What are you doing right now, I don’t want to keep you up.”
“I want to talk to you,” you start, settling into the pillows while eyeing the vibrator charging on his nightstand. “Just got into bed, but I’m not tired so don’t hang up unless you have to.”
“I’ve got about an hour. Enjoying my bed?”
“A lot.” He hums at that. “Might just move in and make you take the couch.”
“We can share.”
That wasn’t a standard Rin answer; he should’ve said something along the lines of changing the locks or making you sleep on the floor. Not that you hadn’t shared a bed with him before, you were both mature adults that could do that without things faring awkward, but that was how he teased you.
But speaking of teasing, there was something more delicate on your mind and you were confident that Rin would be able to help - it would just be easier to ask if you didn’t have to look at him when you did. You’d need to be careful, tiptoeing along this line between friend and something else - something more - was a task done delicately. Otherwise the whole friendship could crumble, and Rin was not a person that you wanted to lose.
“Why are you quiet?”
“Wanted to ask you something, but I’m not sure how to ask.”
“Then just ask.”
Easy for him to say, he was great at being blunt (most of the time). This wasn’t something you were sure about, as Rin’s affection came few and far between. But you’d known about a girlfriend or two, affairs that didn’t last long but were long enough that he’d slept with them so he was your only option.
“How do you make a girl cum? Like…what’s your technique?” You feel like you’re in a furnace, your face hot as there’s a pause on the other side of the call. He probably thought you were stupid, figuring out how to cut this tie and ensure his cat was still taken care of from today on.
“Was there a sexual awakening that I missed?”
“Uh…no?” Your voice wobbles, embarrassment having taken over but you know you’re in the fire now. Rin wouldn’t drop this - he sounded too interested to be willing to. “It’s more like a me problem.”
“You need help finishing yourself off.”
“It sounds pathetic when you say it like that!” Your complaint earns a chuckle from him on the other side, and your face is warm with embarrassment. “But basically, yeah. I get so close and then it’s just…gone. Kinda silly, but it’s bugging me.”
“I can see why. Are you in my bed?”
“Yeah.”
“Bring anything with you?”
You hesitate to answer, since the implication of a positive response would be that you were masturbating in his bed while he was away. Not that it mattered, considering that you just told him something deeply personal regarding your sex life - a vibrator in his bed likely would be nothing in comparison.
“Don’t get it yet, first take your shorts off for me.”
It’s easy to follow instructions when it was Rin dishing them out. Usually the mask he wore when out playing soccer slipped, leaving a soft spoken man who just rolled with the punches for you to hang out with in your shared free time. When he maintained that control it always turned you on, the dull tenor of his voice and cold gaze sending shockwaves directly to your core that had you pushing yourself closer to him to absorb more of that energy that radiated off of him.
You’re obedient as he gives you instructions, first to wet your middle finger before sliding it between your folds. It’s only a bit embarrassing to feel just how wet you were hurt from talking to Rin - and you couldn’t even see what he was doing on the other side of the ocean. He sounds amused at the information, telling you to bring some of that wetness up to your clit.
“It’s about building anticipation,” he says, and you open your legs more as you continue to move your finger in tight circles. “Patience is key, don’t rush it.”
It was hard to be patient when you were desperate for that release that had been evading you for weeks. First it was just day by day, believing it was just a mental block or stress keeping you from cumming, but gradually became hour-by-hour that you worried you would never feel that bliss again. Patience would be near impossible when this was something you wanted more than anything else - if anything just to make sure that there wasn’t something irreversibly wrong with you.
“Relax.”
“‘M trying.”
“Not hard enough.” He was such a bastard. “I can’t get off until you do.”
Of course he’d challenge himself, placing a stipulation on his ability to help you reach that peak and actually fall off the edge and onto the other side. Typical Rin, but the labored breathing on the other end tells you something else. This wasn't just him helping you get off, this was full fledged phone sex now, the official crossing of a line previously left untouched. The question of what happens after this is better left unspoken, held back until Rin was in the same room as you and neither of you could dance around the topic. Not that he would, but you wanted to cover all bases.
“Do you need to stretch yourself out a bit or can you take your vibrator without it?”
“I should be okay without it.”
“Get it wet with your mouth, but play with it a little bit like you would if it was me.”
This had to be part of the anticipation. Playing with the toy that would be penetrating you as if trying to get it just as excited as you were. The additional prompt to treat it as if it were him you were sucking has your face hot - as if you were sitting directly in front of a fire.
“D-do you want it to be me stroking your cock?”
“As much as I’m sure you want it to be me rubbing your clit right now.” That had you humming as you brought your vibrator to your lips, setting your phone on your chest while on speaker so you could still hear him but use both your hands. “But we’ll work that out when I get back.”
You wish he could see you nod around the vibrator, since the sound you made at his statement could easily be interpreted as a sound you made at rubbing your clit. This would be so much easier if he was here, but you’d make do with what you had.
“Sounds so messy,” he teases, but you don’t care because you knew he liked it since he bothered to comment on it. “Get it nice and wet?”
“Uh-huh.”
“Then push it in slowly. I want you to feel every inch of it.”
You do as he says, eyes falling shut at the feeling of the penetration and trying to picture Rin on top of you. His hair would probably fall in his face, tickling your face as it moved with his head and his thrust.
His name tumbles from your lips in a stuttered gasp, prompting his own groan that has you clenching around your toy as you continue to guide it in. He reminds you to relax and take it slow, and you take a couple deep breaths before continuing until it’s at the hilt.
“Don’t turn it on yet, fuck yourself with it for me. Move slow,” he instructs, voice heavy with his own lust. “But move your fingers slow on your clit. Feel it build a bit.”
You crave the additional stimulation from the vibration but don’t dare to defy Rin’s instructions after you’d asked him for help. He wasn’t above stopping entirely if you went against his suggestion, and for your own sake you push the thought aside as your hands move like he’d instructed.
When he tells you to turn on the toy you don’t hesitate, keeping it on the lowest setting as he’d instructed and keeping the thrusts slow.
“Takin’ it so well,” he mumbles, and you nod your agreement as your hips raise of their own accord. “Feel good?”
“Y-yeah. You?”
“Yeah.” He pauses, and you can hear the wet sound of his hand sliding along his shaft. His breathing was labored, you assumed that he was doing his best to hold off as he’d promised, the sound one of the sexiest noises you'd ever heard in your life and would happily play on loop as the soundtrack to assist in your next solo session.
“Pick up the pace a bit. Not too fast and angle it so it’s pointing upwards a bit.”
He continues to instruct you, an “oh, fuck” or “shit” breaking up his sentences on occasion but making you clench around the toy you fucked yourself with. Being part of the reason why the ever-collected Rin Itoshi was falling apart was a unique position to be in, but a position you were excited to be in. The adjusted angle has you seeing stars, the tightening of your core an indicator of an ending you hoped you achieved.
“R-Rin, I’m gonna cum.” You actually were, and you were so excited that he’d gotten you there. “Oh my god, I’m gonna-“
“Don’t hold it. Cum for me and let me hear you.”
The way you cry out when you finally tip over that edge is unrecognizable. The waves of pleasure that crash through your system have your legs shaking as your thighs clench around your hand, tears pricking at your eyes at the immense pleasure you were finally getting to experience after what felt like a lifetime. On the other end of the line you hear Rin’s stifled groans as you assume he reached his own end. He probably looked so pretty, chest heaving and hair sticking to his forehead since he’d sweat, you couldn’t wait to see it in person when he got back.
Your body relaxes back into the mattress, your vibrator turned off but still held in your pussy as you try to steady your breathing as he asks: “Feel better?”
“Yeah.”
“I’m home on Thursday, and I’ll make you cum so many times you’ll forget you ever had issues with it.”
“Threat or promise?”
“Both.”

જ⁀➴ thinking about sharing an umbrella with itoshi rin.
⋮ ⌗ ; listening to mitski and thought of writing this drabble.
warnings
may be occ, not proofread cuz it’s just a drabble not rly, rin itoshi is so cutesy n shy. acts of service is his love language istg. subtle fluff. 1.4k wc

both you and rin were met with the dull sky and hammering sound patterns of the intense downpour after your group studying session.
the sun was ready to set at any time by the look of things.
everyone went their separate paths but as for you and rin, you guys were the last to gather your belongings.
you two were now stuck seeking shelter under the small roof that the university's library entrance offered as the rain glossed over the series of cement stairs.
the atmosphere between you and rin being a bit stiff due to the fact you guys never shared a moment outside of school purposes.
maybe if you were lucky, you'd receive a small glance from itoshi rin during long lectures. a glance that he thought would go unnoticed by you.
"just take it." rin's firm voice rung through the sounds of the downpour hitting the cement.
his hand that held onto the umbrella, reached out towards your own as if to force your hand in taking his umbrella.
his azure eyes raking over you, blinking ever so softly which emphasized his long bottom lashes.
though rin's expression was always indifferent, there was a subtle hint of sincerity. a sincerity that you’ve never seen before.
"but what about you?" you withdrew from his reaching hand, concern lacing your soft tone.
he scoffed, his eyes remaining fixated on your face.
his expression unreadable as ever, yet the way his azure gaze lingered on your features told a different story.
his eyes never failed to cause a dry lump in your throat as you returned his gaze.
you weren't sure if it was because he intimidated you or he was easily the most attractive man you've laid your eyes on.
intimidatingly attractive. you settled with that thought in your mind.
"i'm fine, you'll need it more than me." his voice low yet persistent.
his hand with the umbrella remained reached out ahead of you with a subtle frown settling on his features. it was evident that rin was equally, if not more, stubborn than you.
"itoshi, don't be ridiculous. it's your umbrella, i'm not gonna jus-"
rin's hand extended from his previous stance, grabbing onto your own as he firmly placed the umbrella into your hands.
his touch sending a wave of sensation as his hand lingered for a second too long. or so you thought.
you weren't sure if the close proximity that you both were introduced to was to blame or the mini crush that you always had for itoshi rin.
but the gentle brush of his fingers against yours caused a subtle hint of pink to dust over your skin. god, you’re so single.
"just use it." he muttered, shoving his hands into the pockets of his sweater and striding out from the little shelter provided into the heavy rain.
what is his issue? you could see the hammering droplets engulfing his figure, his dark hair becoming damp by the second.
"itoshi, are you crazy?!" you yelled as his back faced you, ignoring your loud concern at his behavior.
the dull sky was getting darker as time went on and the heavy rain would not let up. why rin itoshi would think it’s a good idea to walk in this condition was beyond you.
without a second thought, you opened the umbrella mindlessly and swiftly followed the taller male like a lost puppy.
once you eventually caught up with his long strides, you extended your arm with the umbrella to accommodate with his height.
"i think sharing the umbrella would be a good idea instead of walking in the rain like an manic." you muttered through your teeth.
it came to your attention that the umbrella could not accommodate to both of you when standing a bit far from each other.
the heavy rain was slightly soaking your right arm as your left hand held up the small umbrella, hoping to give each other more coverage.
rin spared you a glance, noticing the way you were struggling badly attempting to hold the umbrella over his head.
he then sighs deeply at your own persistence. his chest heaving with slight annoyance. as if he was the only one who should be allowed to be a pain in the ass stubborn.
“here, let me hold it.”
his firm hands took the umbrella from yours in a gentle manner, an contrast to the indifferent expression plastered on his face.
"don't be stupid. come closer." he muttered, noticing the way your sleeve had gotten soaked.
he slightly walked closer, not giving you a second to do it on your own as your arms pressed against each others. as sad as it sounds, the contact sent a spark through your flesh.
almost as if he was eager but then again, who are you to try to read itoshi rin's behavior?
it was weird though. he didn't seem to mind, it was as if he purposely kept his arm still to maintain the little contact between each other.
for a moment, there was a comfortable silence that fell over the both of you. the only source of noise being the soft pattern of rain hitting the umbrella.
at times you would take a quick glance at rin on your side. his expression hardened as if he was in deep thought.
"something on your mind?" you asked, breaking the silent atmosphere. your head tilted slightly to the side as your body turned to face rin a bit.
"yeah." he muttered. rin didn't bother sparing you a glance, his gaze ahead.
"like what?"
"like how this creep is constantly staring at me." he said, his tone both dry and sarcastic.
his eyes met with yours with a deadpan expression lingering on his features.
"who- oh my god, shut up." you swatted his arm, genuine laughter escaping your lips.
who knew itoshi rin had a sense of humor?
"wait-" you started, remembering all of the times you noticed rin stealing glances of you in lectures.
"don't think you're slick in class acting like i don't see you looking at me all the time!" your finger poked against his chest firmly to empathize your words.
for once, rin's cat-like eyes widened as your scrutinized gaze met with his widened, doe eyes.
and there it was again, that silence overcoming the two of you as you two stared each other down. your pace slowing down a bit.
"i... i don't do that." he sharply spat, shying away from your eyes.
at his sudden change in demeanor, you could only confirm that you weren't being delusional all those times. there was a subtle tint of pink dusting over his ear as you continued to look up at him.
it was clear the itoshi rin was flustered.
the only words conversed after that was the location of his dorm building, luckily it was close to yours.

"here's my building." you pointed to the brick structure as you two approached the entrance.
after the moment you both shared, he was too quiet. although, rin was a man of few words, his silence was deafening.
standing ahead of the front entrance, you turned to face rin's towering figure. his eyes hard to read as he met yours.
"your dorm is close by, right?" you asked, tilting your head slightly.
"yeah." his answer short and dry, his analyzing gaze still on your features.
"oh is it the building over there?" you nodded off into the distance at the other building a couple feet away.
"yeah." again, his answer still short. his eyes had some of internal turmoil.
"well..." you started, "thank you for walking me home, itoshi."
you looked up to the umbrella, "and keeping me dry."
"rin." his tone low and strained. as if he was holding himself back from saying more.
"huh?"
"call me rin, from now on."
"oh.. okay. well, thank you again, rin." you offered a soft smile. there was slight twitch of his lips at the sound of his name escaping your lips.
"i'll.. see you tomorrow, yn." he nodded slightly before hesitantly departing from your company.
for a moment, you continued to watch him walk away in the opposite direction of the other dorm building. then it clicked, he lied. the only other building was across the campus. did that mean he only walked here for you?
if it couldn't get worse, your eyes traveled to the left sleeve of his sweater being absolutely drenched with rain.
rin itoshi was a selfless man.

❝but, you’re my baby, and i love you so much!❞
♡ rin itoshi ♡
a/n: i kept getting tiktoks on my fyp of this trend and i couldn’t help but think of him.
content: rin itoshi x reader, established relationship, gentlelover!rin, reader is a little mean, very fluffy, kinda short, not grammatically checked.
---
it was almost nine and you were stressed.
every little thing in this entire world was pissing you off because you couldn’t finish this stupid fucking project your professor decided to assign you this morning. to make things even better, it’s due before the beginning of class the next morning and it’s group work.
surprise, surprise! your group mates are shit and the responsibility of the entire project was now shoved up your ass.
how beautiful.
you were barely finished with the other assignments that you received from your other classes, which meant that you’d have to pull another all-nighter.
who the absolute fuck told you that it got better in college? ‘cause right now you want to kill yourself.
you were trying to reach over to grab your binder when suddenly your hand knocked over the cup of coffee you had on your side. you gasped as your eyes widened.
it spilled all over your laptop.
“no, no, no!! fuck.” you panicked, quickly ripping a bunch of tissue to wipe the liquid away without getting it further into your device. and just because god loves you so much, your phone began to buzz.
you groaned in annoyance, leaning over to swipe the decline button. you upsettingly sighed, seeing that your laptop was already starting to malfunction, which meant that you were screwed.
“ugh, what the fuck, man. i’m gonna end my life, i swear.” you grumbled to yourself. your phone began to ring again and your face had a scowl painted on it as you roughly grabbed the small device, swiping green.
“y/n?” the familiar voice on the other end called out as you received the call.
“yes, yes, what is it rin? i’m really busy right now and your constant calling is wasting my time. couldn’t you have just texted me instead?” you snapped at him, making him become silent for a few seconds and he was trying to process what the hell was going on.
“are you okay? you seem upset.” rin responded in a worry tone, making you roll your eyes.
“no, rin. i’m actually so happy right now that i can die. whatever, why did you call?” you decided to cut to the chase, figuring that it was no use of getting too distracted right now.
“it’s fine, i’ll see you at home.” he shortly said before hanging up, leaving you with your mouth open.
“then what the fuck was the reason for calling me?!” you yelled at your screen, which was pointless because your lover wasn’t on the other line. you angrily slammed your phone on the table before going back to your mission of trying to revive your laptop.
about thirty minutes has passed and you gave up on your laptop, deciding to finish your paper assignments first and then try again later. you furiously scribbled writing on your assignments, your handwriting progressively getting sloppier and uglier as you bullshitted them.
you no longer cared if your work was absolute doodoo, you just wanted to get it done and over with. so invested in your work, you didn’t even notice when rin slipped inside your shared apartment.
he usually had soccer practice which ended later on the day during the weekdays. the 6′1 striker entered the kitchen, rummaging through some things before his footsteps came towards where you sat.
“this shitty ass laptop still won’t work!” you whined, banging your fists on the keyboard in frustration as you felt like ripping your hair out.
rin pulled the chair next to you out so that he could sit down and watch his very stressed and mad girlfriend work.
“wanna talk about it, baby?” rin finally got the courage to break the thick silence that was fogging up the entire room.
“no.” you sharply answered back, your tone nearly slicing his heart.
“you sure? taking a small break wouldn’t hurt.” he softly suggested, bringing a hand up to stroke your hair. for some odd reason, his persistence was getting on your nerves and you would then do something that you knew you’d instantly regret if not now then later.
you angrily shoved off his hand, making rin look at you with a shocked and confused face at your unusual behavior.
“for fucks sake, leave me alone! can’t you see that i’m trying to finish my work? you don’t have to worry about college like i do because you have your entire future set by kicking a stupid ball. i don’t! so just fucking go, rin!” you yelled at him, watching his face fall as he stood up from his chair. suddenly, the words on your tongue died down, your throat becoming dry.
fuck.
you knew you messed up real bad, but the damage has already been done. rin let out a heavy sigh before looking down at you with sad eyes.
“okay, i’ll stop bugging you. also, your laptop most likely won’t turn back on, so stop wasting your time on bringing something back after destroying it. just use mine, it’s in my duffle bag.” rin dryly spoke before turning his heels, walking towards your shared bedroom before you heard the slam of the door shutting, making you flinch.
“fuck you professor, i hope your wife leaves your for another man.” you swore under your breath, closing the lid of your dead laptop. you walked towards the sofa where rin’s duffle bag was, opening it to pull out his laptop for your use.
you walked back to your spot, turning on his device to begin working. it was almost midnight, so, if god was on your side then you could hopefully finish the project by two in the morning.
as soon as the laptop turned on, the first thing you were met with was his wallpaper which was set as a collage of your photos. you couldn’t help but take in a few minutes to stare at it, and as each minute passed, your heart began to ache even more.
you knew that rin didn’t deserve to hear those words, but you couldn’t stop yourself from saying those awful things to him in the heat of the moment. shaking your head to shoo those distracting thoughts away, you retracted your focus back onto your project.
---
you finished typing the last word on the report and you could almost shed happy tears. you were finally done with this shit, your hands shaking and your eyes begging to close. without hesitation, you submitted the work. who cares about checking for grammar issues when your soft bed was calling out for your ass.
“not bad, it’s only one-thirty. hm, i guess i should eat before going to sleep since i’m kinda hungry.” you talked to yourself, shutting off rin’s laptop as you lazily made your way to the kitchen to fix yourself up some instant ramen.
your eyes fell on the white plastic bag on the kitchen counter, an eyebrow cocking upwards as you curiously opened the bag. you gasped as you realized that it was your favorite takeout.
“oh my god, i’m such a piece of shit.” you whispered, head hanging low as you thanked the heavens for blessing your with such a loving and kind boyfriend whom you didn’t deserve at all
you eagerly reheated up the food in the microwave before speed walking back to the dining table. you settled your food down on the table, allowing it to cool while your pack your bag and put rin’s laptop on charge so that he could use it for his classes tomorrow.
after eating and cleaning up, you decided to skip your usual night routine since you were pretty tired. you quickly brushed your teeth and went straight to the bedroom.
you quietly opened the door, noticing how the lights were off and the only source that was providing some form of light inside your room was the small lamp on the side.
tiptoeing to your side of the bed, you slipped under the covers as you sat up, leaning against the headboard. you could hear rin’s soft snores coming from the side, the cute man sleeping on his back as he faced the ceiling.
your eyes scanned his features, which every nook and cranny of your brain had memorized. he looked so cute while he slept and an overwhelming wave of sadness hit you like a tsunami as you recalled the way you treated him earlier on the night.
tears began to sting your eyes as guilt washed on your face, the warm liquid streaming down your face. without thinking twice, you climbed onto him as you straddled rin’s waist before hugging his sleeping form, burying your teary face in the crook of his neck while you sobbed.
feeling the wet and warm tears stain the flesh of his neck, rin began to squirm in his sleep as he groaned.
“what the hell?” rin groggily said, opening his sleep filled eyes as he saw a lump on top of him shaking and crying. he wrapped an arm around you before carefully sitting up, leaning against the headboard as he rubbed your back.
you decided to face him, even though you knew you looked hideous. you face was probably wet and red like a tomato.
“oh my god, you look even cuter now!” you cried even harder after taking one look at him, leaving rin nothing but confused as fuck. you peppered his face with kisses before wrapping your arms tightly around his neck as you pulled him into a hug. you squeezed him closer to you until it was humanly not possible.
“i’m so sorry, rinnie! i was such a jerk to you all night because i was so upset about my stupid project. it’s just everything was getting me so mad ‘cause my group mates ditched me and my dumbass spilled coffee on my laptop, a-and the-then i-” you were choking on your tears and words from crying and talking to fast.
“shh, it’s okay baby. i’m not upset because you reacted that way, i know you were stressed. we’re okay, y/n.” rin’s words were gentle as it helped you calm down from your crying frenzy. you raised your face up to look back at his face, seeing a soft and warm smile painted on his lips as his gorgeous teal eyes sparkled with love.
“i know but you’re my baby! and i love you so much! god, i was so mean, how could i even say those things? i’m so, so, sorry, rinnie. i shouldn’t have taken my anger out on you i’mtheworstgirlfriendeverohmygodwhydon’tyouhateme.” you ugly sobbed, your words weren’t even coherent as rin couldn’t help but chuckle.
he knew that you didn’t mean those words and he also knew that this would happen as well. once again, your gentle boyfriend knew you like the back of his hand.
“ahh, what a crybaby. hm, you can make it up to me by giving me a smile. i want to see my girlfriend smile before i go to sleep, not in tears.” he playfully said, as you lifted your head to meet his eyes once more. the sight of such a domestic scene made your stomach fill with swarming butterflies.
fuck, you just wanted to marry him.
“i’m gonna eat you up if you don’t stop looking at me like that.” you poked his chest, making him laugh as wiped away your tears with his fingers.
“and exactly how am i looking at you?” rin asked and you mumbled.
“like you wanna grow old with me until i die.” you bluntly responded, making his smile widen.
“and what if told you that it’s exactly what i want?” he gave you a cheeky grin, making you blush as a giggle left your lips.
“then what’s stopping you, idiot? marry me! i do, i do, i do!!” you exclaimed before crashing your lips with his. you placed your hands on the sides of his face, pulling him closer to you as both of your lips molded into each other’s. rin’s arms securely wrapped around your waist, following the rhythm of your lips.
the kiss wasn’t intense, it was sweet and lasting with a touch of innocence. it was a kiss in which you both enjoyed each other as lovers. and you loved this feeling, the feeling of breathing, tasting and touching him.
your sweet, kind and gentle lover, itoshi rin.
pulling away, you looked at him with adoring eyes, swiping away the strands of hair that covered his eyes. rin looked at you like you were the most beautiful and important thing in his life.
to which you were.
“i’ll make you my wife and keep you in my heart forever. i love you so much, y/n.” his heart swelled with his love for you. your eyes nearly shape shifted into hearts upon hearing his words.
“i love you more, rinnie.” you smiled, placing a smooch on his lips, purposely making noise as he chuckled.
“come on, let’s go to sleep. you have class early in the morning, i don’t want you to fall sick.” rin said and you nodded, the both of you getting comfortable on the bed. you scooched closer to your boyfriend, wrapping all your limbs around him as you placed your head on his chest. your ear was right on top of his heart, hearing the thumping noises of his heart beating.
it brought you peace to know such a perfect man existed, alive and in your hold right now. his pulse lulled you to sleep and soon enough, you were knocked out.
rin glanced down to his chest and saw you fast asleep, his lips curling upwards as he bent his head down to place kisses on your lips and forehead.
“oh, before i forget.” he leaned over to grab your phone, unlocking the device as he went to the submission box of your project assignment. he unsubmitted the report, going to the title page as he erased the names of your group members. a satisfied smirk was plastered over his face as he resubmitted the finished project that had just your name on it.
“tch, not giving those fuckers any credit for what was all you, my love. sleep tight.” he said before ending his words to himself with a yawn, his own eyes feeling heavy. you were very warm and soft, which meant that rin would be out like a light soon as well.

SAVIOUR OF NIGHTMARES ──── rin itoshi × fem! reader
about. in which, a consumer of nightmares saves the delver. made in abyss! au. reader is half-narehate (hollow). ooc rin. kind of fluff. wc of 900+
notes. ( wrote this back in june during my made in abyss hyperfixation ) anyways i love mia and belaf and and and. tagging @sweetheartsaku, @anqelically, @choccorin !!
nightmares. something that he always has. not even in a blue moon or occasionally, but almost every day. every day of his life the moment he shuts his eyes, it is as if a nightmare demon has favoured him and punctured the idea of horrifying dreams into the mind.
not a single day passes without a single speck of a blood-curdling image just roaming around at the back of his mind, awaiting to display like an inescapable horror movie.
in those nightmares, itoshi rin sometimes dreams of the worst possible outcome of the pit, the abyss. but mostly and the worst of all, his brother. as a delver of the black whistle, he fears almost nothing, except for the end of himself failing to his brother.
of course, you need no fear of being at the level of a white whistle. just like his brother. rin only exists to beat his brother, even if sae has gotten a white whistle a few years ago, rin still did not receive one.
it only meant that rin isn't at that level of his brother yet. his brother who has travelled with the most legendary delvers like ozen the immovable, or lyza the annihilator. rin was tempted to descend into a white whistle.
little did the itoshi know, his dreams and goals would only steer further away from him as his nightmares grew worse and worse every night. even now— as his mind swirled with the darkest days where he had a conflict with his brother. an argument that would change rin to be the way he is.
he still dreams of it until this day. even if the younger itoshi’s inner feelings say otherwise, his feelings of hatred are more prominent than the ones of love and affection. that was how horrible it has become until his hatred has formed into a demon in his mind that vomits nightmares into rin.
the delver shifted in his sleeping mattress, sweat already formed from the anxiety that his mind played through. his closed eyelids would occasionally move, eyebrows scrunching in a sense of pain.
“i can save you from your nightmares,” a feminine voice called through the audio of the horror playthrough, as rin remained silent. “just give me a little love.”
huh?
give who a little love?
who is speaking to rin?
“i can help you tonight, and every other night. you just have to give me your love in return.”
tempting, but extremely suspicious. is this another dream trying to coexist with his nightmare about his elder brother? is this possible? a mysterious voice that blocks out all other noises and only speaks to rin himself.
it doesn't matter, rin needed the hellish punishments of a nightmare to cease at this moment. so he agreed, even if he didn't know how to agree with him, the voice responded to him and he could physically feel as if his dreams were being lifted from the insides of his brains.
then, cold yet gentle fingers touched the skin of the itoshi, gently cupping his face to caress his soft skin. you then leaned down on the sleeping form of the delver and placed a soft kiss onto his lips. pulling away not to be distracted by anything else, you placed your forehead on his as your noses touched.
rin felt a cool air on his forehead. it slowly seeped into his forehead and sunk into his mind, giving his mind a place of peace. it was like all his bad memories and all the nightmares he has to sleep through has been frozen by the cool air just as it was all replaced with utter calmness instead of calamity.
for the first time in years, he finally had peace while his eyes were shut. his eyelids weren't shaking or struggling to keep awake or fall asleep into hell, but they were still and peaceful.
you watched in curiousity at the human male, a delver with a black whistle. you wondered, why is he not a white whistle yet? he is already in such a deep layer into the abyss. someone with his survivor skill is bound to own a white whistle.
at least, that's what you knew from the previous white whistle delvers that you've met along the way. you shifted rin’s messy bangs. but the moment you pull your hands away from his face, he grabs your hand gently.
“is it you? the one who punctured peace into my mind.”
you nodded. “i only consumed your nightmares because you consented to it.”
rin’s teal eyes looked up at your hovering form. still in a sluggish state, he scans your being. he couldn't tell if you are human or a creature of the abyss, for he is only focused on one thing.
“you are so beautiful... ” he said, letting go of your hands to shift them to your face. “you are my saviour, aren't you?”
as a narehate, you felt yourself blushing at the human teenager who held your face in his own arms. his voice and words too, were hypnotising, as if they were coated in honey and you are a bee not resisting them.
this human, a black whistle delver, itoshi rin, he's yours. yours the moment you laid your eyes on him through the force fields of the abyss as you watched him ventured until this layer. it was simply fate that brought the two of you together.
rin was even willing to love you for an eternity and become a narehate himself if you'll prevent and save him from having hellish nightmares. even if you become a white instrument for the male, he'll do anything for you.

everything i know about love. itoshi brothers (seperately!) x reader. bittersweet. fluff & angst. unrequited love.
☆彡– but really, how can he mourn for something he’s never had ?/ or, reasons why they’ll never love.
a/n: i’m so sorry for the way i delayed all my writings!! the rin thing took so long.
SAE ITOSHI can’t love. (at least, that’s what everyone believes, and what he tells himself.)
he doesn’t love. he criticises, observes, scorns it, but he doesn’t know how to love.
maybe that ability was lost a long time ago– along with his naive passion. maybe it was never there to begin with– a fitting explanation, it seems, for a heartless being like him.
sae itoshi doesn’t love. sae itoshi doesn’t allow himself to indulge in such luxuries. (after all, isn’t football supposed to be his only passion?)
but when he meets you, he feels like his world’s been thrown into turmoil.
you’re leagues above him, he thinks.
you’re more than he deserves; more than what he’s signed up for when he chose his future at the age of 13. there was no love included in the contract. there was only a sponsored one-way trip to spain.
(if anything, he could probably learn to love you.)
you’re kind. you’re so pretty to him that his heart aches when you smile at him. your accidental caresses to his skin makes it feel like it’s burning incessantly, permanently scarring where you touched him. your jokes are so bad sometimes a smile creeps out from his stoic face– but vanishes before you can point it out.
he likes you, but he’ll never love you.
not in this life.
(“you’ve probably noticed, but i do like you as more than a friend, sae.”
sae’s breath hitches. he wants, so desperately, to say yes.
he doesn’t.
your understanding smile lingers with him for days.)
it's no surprise when you start to draw away from him, really. but why does his heart ache when he thinks about a world of soccer– without you?
sae itoshi doesn't love, but now he'll be forever haunted by the whispers of what could have been.
RIN ITOSHI has a warped perception of love.
(after all, he's been hurt before. he knows of the horrors that the ephemeral feeling of love comes with. he knows how this story will end. but while sae itoshi cannot love, rin doesn't need it. he's given up on it, really; the very fabric of love having fallen into his category of 'lukewarm' even when he was a teenager who didn't know better.)
yet through the number of lenses you've seen him through over the years, you wonder if he truly is incapable of loving.
the flame in your heart grows bigger, despite the torrents of mental warnings in your head.
exhibit 1.
for someone who exhibits such emotionless behaviour, he really likes stupid dating sims. and he denies it vehemently, when asked.
“it’s not a matter of the romance. it’s so stupid that it takes my mind off things.” rin deadpans, raising an eyebrow at your sudden question.
exhibit 2.
cutely enough, he has an emo, teenager romance playlist.
(when you point it out, he disagrees that it’s angsty. "it's just for homework. i work better with songs i don't care about as white noise."
–the blatant lie that slips out of his mouth makes you question the very foundation your long standing friendship with rin. was he really that intent on lying about something so amusing?)
exhibit 3.
you've been rin's self proclaimed best friend for as long as you can remember. maybe preschool, or even before.
you know how hard it was for him to keep up with his prodigy brother. you know the lengths he's gone through to earn rank #1 on japan's top 300 footballers. you know rin itoshi, the boy behind the stoic and calculated facade. the boy who says he doesn’t cry, but sometimes finds himself tearing up over sentimental pet movies.
(it’s better this way, you know. it’s better to conceal the fact that you’ve been totally in love with him for almost a decade, from you were both angsty pre-teenagers in middle school until now, in your early twenties, when he’s becoming a rapidly-growing football celebrity and you’re still right where he left you, five years ago.)
there’s no happy ending to this story. there was never meant to be one.
exhibit 4. (the disaster)
it was a mistake.
okay, maybe it was less of a mistake, and more of an impulse decision, considering how little he regretted it the morning after.
he should regret it, shouldn’t he? it’s normal to not regret sleeping with the only person he trusts with his life, right? even if his feelings towards you were only platonic..?
he’s been enchanted by the illusions of love underneath the sheets. now he doesn’t know what to do– when he’s so wrapped up in thoughts of you, you, only you.
does he want to like you? no, heavens, no.
(does he like you, realistically, in an ideal world? yes. so much– maybe he would even sacrifice his career for you in another life.)
love is a curse. love ends everything. love is what fuels his hatred.
does he love you?
even if he does, it’ll be astronomically less than how much you love him, wouldn’t it? does it matter? when he’ll never be enough– when you deserve more?
his rejection– blunt, cold, hits you like a truck.
of course it does.
summary
a part of you will always like rin, you think.
rin is childish– rin, at his twenties– still doesn’t know the true extent of how much you actually like him. you don’t think you’ll ever tell him, either.
maybe you should move on.
how can you, when you’ve been in love with the same person for a decade–? how can you, when he was- is everything to you?
(how could he move on as well– when he’s completely ruined the only person who ever liked him genuinely– without any sort of obligation to do so? how could he, when he was the only one who could be blamed?)
maybe, in ten years, he’ll regret it.

put a ring on it || rin itoshi

“no, i’m not letting you go out there,”
itoshi rin grabs your wrist in an attempt to pull you to his side but you pout, slipping from his grasp once more. the entire night he’s been like this: following after you, heart dropping every time you pull away just for it to soar again when you look his way with a teasing smile afterwards. he chuckles at the thought; it’s reminiscent of the way he pined for you all those years ago before you were his. before he was yours. you’d have noticed the way his eyes linger on you, pupils blown out and filled with adoration if you weren’t such a goddamn lightweight.
“but rin, it’s single ladies! ‘s my favourite, you know that!”
rin tucks your hair behind your ears. “i know that, but you’re not a single lady.” he tries to reason.
“mmm yeah, i guess not…” a dreamy faraway look makes its way onto your face as your mind wanders to the heartthrob of a man you’ve been dating for 2 years, completely unaware that said man is standing right in front of you with a deadpan look on his face. he thinks he’s won you over before your brows furrow and a pout pulls your lips downwards again.
“but i still wanna dance…” you interlock your fingers with rin’s as you look up into his eyes. you can never get tired of the intensity of his gaze; even after two years, the bright teal peeking under dark, heavy lashes still make you pause in your tracks. rin was always so, so handsome. unfairly so.
“just this one song, kay? then we can go home and do anything you’d like.” with a doe-eyed look, your pinky slowly curls around his and rin sighs.
what a minx, he thinks. he still remembers the first time you linked pinkies with him, when the two of you were walking under street lamps after you waited for him to finish practice. it was you that waited for him as he navigated through his own feelings at 19, not quite ready and still unsure of what to do. then on that fateful night the side of your hand brushed his, once, twice, and before he knew it, rin trailed after your touch after being deprived of it all his life.
now here you are, still loving him despite everything.
rin ruffles your hair. “yeah, yeah. now shoo,”
you raised your fist in victory before making your way to the dance floor, but not without turning your head to poke your tongue out at him. and rin mouths a ‘lukewarm’ back as if you aren’t the only thing that matters to him in this party– the only thing capable of making him feel. with hands in his pocket and back leaning against the counter, rin stays to himself, entertained by the sight of you dancing your heart out. and when your favourite part comes on, your eyes search for him over the crowd,
“if you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it,
don’t be mad once you see that he want it”
rin nods as you sing the lyrics to him. he thinks you look the prettiest when you’re carefree like this, when you know that he’s there to protect you so you can feel safe.
“if you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it, oh, oh oh,”
his lips curved to form a small smile, mind drifting to the velvet box he’s skillfully hid on the top of his cupboard. oh, you have no idea.

rin is like. the most attractive boy in blue lock easily🥱

4:22’ pm - rin itoshi

4:22: hi rinnie
4:22: can you pick me up please, i went on the wrong train..😓
you didn’t expect a fast reply, which made you slump onto one of the benches nearby the train station. you were at-least a few miles away from home.
maybe you should’ve paid attention more towards the trains instead of rushingly getting on a random one that was close to leaving.. but it wasn’t your fault, the train had the number you were supposed to go on!
surprisingly you got a reply not even five minutes later.
rin ml 4:26: oh lord.
rin ml 4:26: send me your location, right now.
you sighed in relief. but, apart of you felt a bit terrified. you knew once you would get home you would get a long lecture from your boyfriend.
honestly seeing rin being pissed off was a mix of three things, scary, hot, and sexy. it was undeniable, even if it would leave him slightly red, you could not deny it.
4:27: (location)
4:27: don’t be maddd..
rin ml 4:28: y/n.
rin ml 4:28: oh my god.
4:28: IM SORRY :((
4:28: i swear i was on the right train!
rin ml 4:29: apperantly not.. you’re stupid.
rin ml 4:29: stay where you are, i’m omw now.
4:30: thank you sooo much rin<33
4:30: i love you.
rin ml 4:32: i love you more
rin ml 4:32: i’m still upset, don’t think you’re off the hook baby.
4:33: :((
“c’mon, let’s go.” your boyfriends sweet voice comes into your senses, slightly startling you as you were busy scrolling on your phone.
before you could say anything, his arm goes around your waist and almost drags you away from the station, making his way to his car.
even if you knew he was frustrated with you, you still smiled and kissed his cheek. you were grateful to have him. very grateful.
“thanks rinnie,” you muttered, hoping he would look back at you. which he did.
though he didn’t reply, he just shook his head and kissed your forehead in return; opening your side of the car so you would get in before getting in his side of the car.
“so, lemme guess. you mixed up the numbers?” your boyfriend side eyes you, turning on the car along with the heater.
your lips formed a thin line, pressing them together. he was right. you nodded your head and avoided eye contact.
“‘m sorry..” you replied, your voice barely a whisper.
rin sighs, shaking his head. you think he would give you the silent treatment, oh how you were so wrong.
he cups your chin with two fingers, forcing you to look up at him without avoiding eye contact. your eyes linger, looking at his orbs.
teal.
the eyes that held all the cold, and seriousness in the word. especially when it was on the field. yet he would never show that side with you.
because he loves you, he adores you. you’re always there when he needs you. there is never a time where he doesn’t see you at his games, cheering him on with everything you’ve got in you.
it’s cute.
he owes you everything. he knows you deserves the world. something as little as this situation isn’t something worth to be stressed out over.
“love, it’s okay.” he murmurs, interlocking his lips with the tip of your nose. he hopes it helps lighten the mood with you.
“next time, just wait for me to pick you up. kay?” he continues, cupping your cheek with one hand. you look up at him in shock. no lecture??
“you’re not gonna lecture me for this? woah!” you gasp, e/c orbs getting brighter.
he chuckles and shakes his head, turning away softly to get the engine of his car starting, not before checking if your seat belt was on.
like always, it’s not on. and you don’t even notice it, even when he groans.
that’s before he moves over to your side to put your seat belt on for you, making sure the strap wasn’t too tight.
“ohhh.. whoops!” you nervously scratch the back of your neck, smiling up at him.
“tch, idiot. i really am the reason to why you’re safe all the time.” a playful smirk appears on his lips, as he drives away from the train station.
you huff and roll your eyes, denying it over and over “no, only sometimes!” you affirmed, noticing how he looks at you with a sarcastic expression.
rin rose his eyebrows, giving you the ‘are ya sure?’ look.you sighed, knowing he was mostly right.
“okay, maybe most times..” he grins, taking your hand into his whilst he drives.

“rin” you hushed with your eyes closed, hoping that rin heard you call out his name in the dark. “rin!” you say louder this time, in hopes your tone does wake him up. instead, you were met again with his quiet snores.
taking a deep breath, you slowly get your hand out and search for his own under the covers. when you successfully found his hand, you tugged it towards your waist. rin immediately stirs and wakes up from the sudden contact.
“y/n?” he groggily says, taking a peak at his alarm clock beside him which showed the current time, 3:46 AM
“hold me” you hushed once again, making yourself comfortable now that his arm draped around you. you hear him grunt as a response and not a moment later you hear his snores fill the room again, indicating that rin has fallen back asleep.
even if your eyes were closed, your mind was still wide awake. replaying all the scary scenes from the scary movie you’ve watched with rin earlier that night. not to mention that you really needed to go to the bathroom but with your mind replaying that one specific scene that still has you up at this hour, you’d rather wait for the sun to shine through to use the toilet.
you don’t know if it was just your mind playing games with you but you could feel someone or something staring right back at you from the corner of your room. you turned around to face rin’s chest in hopes that the tingly creepy feeling of being watched goes away but instead it feels like it made it worse.
with no other choice left, and too much of a pussy to open your eyes, you shake rin awake.
“rin” you mumbled, head tucked to his chest as he blinks up at the dark ceiling. “hmm?”
“i wanna pee..”
a moment of silence passes by. for a second you thought rin fell back asleep to you hear him shift around and grunt.
“then pee” he yawns, returning to his previous position, ready to go back to sleep til you shake him again.
“but i’m scared..” you sheepishly admit, not that he could see it but you could feel your cheeks burning up in embarrassment
“scared of what?”
“i’m just scared okay!” you whisper-yelled, hiding your face in his chest. you then feel him run his hand through your hair, his poor attempt to at least calm you down in some way. it was rin’s own way of saying “don’t be scared when i’m here”
rin isn’t as dense as you think he is. he was able to put two and two together on why or what could have caused you to literally have nightmares. it was obviously the movie you two have watched which was the new horror movie.
“then let me come with you to the bathroom-“
“no, i don’t want to go anymore”
even if you couldn’t see his face, rin was raising an eyebrow. were you literally about to hold your pee in just because you were too scared to go to the bathroom?
“i can accompany you because i want to pee too” rin tries to explain, for the record, he isn’t lying about wanting to pee, he actually does need to go as well.
as stubborn as always, you firmly say no. rin sighs and mumbles “okay suit yourself” and slowly gets out of bed to head over to the bathroom.
it didn’t take rin a while to get back to bed. the moment he reached for the covers, you instantly latched yourself onto him, scared that the same demon entity from the movie would come out and get either one of you.
it seems like you still weren’t falling asleep anytime soon with the way you were tossing and turning in hopes to block out the scary images burned into your mind. with no other option left, you shake rin awake again.
“y/n, please just fall asleep” you hear him complain as you woke him up again for the third time tonight. you almost felt a little apologetic to your boyfriend but it was his fault for even suggesting that you two would watch a scary movie in the first place. “could you open the lights for me, rin?” you plead as if this was your last resort onto having a good (not really) night’s rest
with a sigh, rin silently gets out of bed to groggily find your light switch to flick them on. you messily reached over for your phone that was at the foot of the bed to check the time. by now it was around 4:30 AM
“okay now get back in here” you pat the empty spot next to you as rin winces at the bright light. “you’re not gonna turn them off?” rin questions as he makes a beeline towards your bed. “no, that’s why i asked you to open them”
when rin finally snuggles in next to you, you made one last request and that is to drape his arm over you once again and repeatedly pat your sides til you fall asleep.
even if he was deadbeat tired, he still promptly complied with your request if it’s what would take you to finally sleep. slowly he notices your shallow breathing and that you’ve stopped moving all together and when rin was 100% sure that you were out like a light, he himself follows through.
you ended up waking up later that day with rin cleaning around your room. it was safe to say it was a good morning indeed

ᓚᘏᗢ — beneath the stars, we became one: epilogue ! (wc: 6,5k)
can be read without reading my other chapters ! (though, i'd really appreciate if you read the whole story hihi)
#001 : first official date.
when you both were 17, the world seemed to shimmer with a new kind of magic. the lights of the festival reflected in rin's teal eyes, making them look even more captivating than usual. your arm was linked with his as the two of you strolled through the crowded festival streets. you wondered if he noticed the way you kept stealing glances at him.
the air was alive with energy. everywhere you turned, the colors of the festival fascinating: bright lanterns, vivid banners, and the rich hues of traditional yukatas. rin's yukata, a deep navy one, suited him so perfectly. his calm presence grounded you amid the lively chaos, and you couldn't help but smile to yourself.
"you're quiet," rin said, glancing down at you. "are you okay?"
his steady and low voice pulled you from your thoughts. you looked up at him, the corners of your lips curving into a soft smile. "yeah, just thought about something. it's really lively here."
he hummed in agreement, his eyes scanning the vivid scene. even in the midst of all the noise and colors, rin's presence had a way of making you feel calm.
"i like it," you said after a moment. "but i think i like this even more."
"what's 'this'?" he asked, pulling you closer as the cool evening breeze swept through the festival, rustling the banners and lanterns overhead.
"being here. with you," you admitted softly, your voice almost drowned out by the distant laughter and music.
rin looked at you, his steps faltering slightly as your words hung in the air. for a moment, he didn't know how to respond. his eyes searched yours, a faint hint of surprise flashing across his face. then, almost as if to mask his own uncertainty, his lips twitched into a tiny smirk.
"oh?" he finally said, his tone teasing but warm. "you usually flirted with me so easily, and now you're getting shy just from being here with your boyfriend?"
his words caught you off guard, and your cheeks grew impossibly warmer. you looked away, trying to fight the embarrassed grin tugging at your lips. "don't make it sound like that," you muttered, nudging him lightly with your elbow.
"like what?" he asked, his voice holding the slightest trace of amusement. he wasn't letting this go, clearly enjoying the rare sight of you being flustered.
"like i'm some shameless flirt," you shot back.
he chuckled softly, the sound low and unguarded. "well," he said, his voice dropping slightly, "i remember that one message. what was it again? .. oh yeah, 'there's a really good black friday deal! in my bed! 100% clothes off!'"
your jaw dropped as you whipped your head toward him. "rin!" you exclaimed, your voice a mix of disbelief and embarrassment. "how do you even remember that?"
he shrugged, a smile tugging at his lips. "hard to forget when someone sends that out of nowhere."
you groaned, feeling your cheeks burn. "i was joking! and you know it!"
"yeah? man, i really looked forward to that deal," he said with a sly grin, the teasing in his voice making your face heat even more.
"rin!" you swatted at his arm, unable to hide the mix of embarrasment and laughter bubbling up. "you're impossible."
he chuckled, the sound warm and unguarded, as if he couldn't resist riling you up. "what? i'm just saying, false advertising is a little cruel, you know."
you rolled your eyes, but before you could fire back, something caught your attention. a stall just ahead had an array of plushies on display, and one in particular - a kuromi one - stood out. its adorably pouty face made you gasp.
"look at that!" you tugged on his sleeve, pointing excitedly. "it's so cute!"
rin followed your gaze to the plushie, his brow raising slightly as he surveyed the ring toss game in front of it. without a word, he stepped forward, fishing coins out of his pocket and handing them to the stall owner.
"wait," you said, your eyes widening. "are you going to-?"
"i’ll get it," he interrupted, his voice calm but firm. there was a quiet determination in his tone, and the way his fingers curled around the rings made your chest tighten.
you stood back, watching as he sized up the game. his posture was relaxed, but his focus was sharp. you noticed the small, almost unnoticeable details - how his shoulders squared, how his eyes narrowed slightly in concentration. when he lined up his shot, the tip of his tongue peeked out, just barely brushing his bottom lip.
you didn’t know why, but that little gesture had your heart skipping beats.
the first ring flew through the air in a clean arc and landed squarely around the bottle neck with a resounding clink. your jaw dropped. “no way,” you said, blinking in disbelief. “first try?”
rin handed the stall owner another coin and repeated the throw, landing another ring with ease. the owner laughed, handing him the plushie. rin turned, holding it out to you, his expression neutral but his eyes betraying a flicker of satisfaction.
“here,” he said simply.
you reached for it, hugging the plushie tightly to your chest. “that was amazing,” you said, the awe clear in your voice. then, before you could stop yourself, you blurted, “and so hot.”
his ears turned red instantly. “what?” he asked, his voice stiff with surprise.
“i said you’re really good at games,” you backtracked, grinning to yourself as he avoided your gaze.
the two of you continued walking, and as the excitement from the game faded, a peaceful glow settled over the festival. lanterns swayed gently in the breeze, their light illuminating the cobbled path ahead. you came to a stop in front of a small pond, its surface reflecting the golden glow of the lanterns and the twinkling stars above.
“oh,” you breathed, staring at the scene. “it’s so beautiful.”
“yeah,” rin murmured beside you.
his voice was so soft that it drew your attention. you turned your head, expecting to find him admiring the lanterns or the pond, but his gaze wasn’t on the scene at all - it was on you.
the intensity of his stare made your breath hitch. “what?” you asked quietly, your cheeks warming under his steady gaze.
“nothing,” he muttered, his ears tinged pink as he quickly looked away.
summary: rin is good at everything.

#002 : teaching you maths.
when you both were 17, studying for finals felt like the ultimate test of patience - especially when math was involved. the soft glow of your desk lamp illuminated the small piles of textbooks and notes scattered across the surface. finals were just around the corner, and rin had insisted on coming over to help you prepare - specifically with math, your least favorite subject. you sat cross-legged on your chair, head resting on your hand as rin flipped through your textbook, calm and focused as always.
“you’re really not going to do your homework?” he asked, raising an eyebrow as he looked up from the book.
you groaned dramatically, leaning back in your chair. “it’s not that i can’t do it - it’s just... so boring.”
rin chuckled softly, closing the book with a quiet thud. "right," he said dryly, his eyes locking with yours. "didn't you want to stay valedictorian, or are you giving me the title now?"
you shot him an exaggerated glare, but there was a hint of a smile tugging at your lips. "i'm not giving up the title," you muttered, pulling your legs up into your chair and resting your chin on your knees. "i just think i deserve a break, that's all."
rin sighed, setting the book down and leaning back in his chair. "if you do your homework, i promise i'll give you a reward," he said, the promise in his voice sounding far too tempting for you to ignore.
you raised an eyebrow, curious. "reward? what kind of reward?"
rin looked at you with a playful glint in his eyes, a teasing smile curling at the corners of his lips. "you'll find out if you do your homework," he said cryptically, as if he had something up his sleeve but wasn’t about to spoil the surprise.
you tilted your head, intrigued yet still skeptical. "you're really not gonna tell me what it is?"
"nope," rin replied, his tone light. "you have to earn it. that's how rewards work."
you groaned again, but there was a part of you that was now genuinely curious. "ugh, fine," you muttered, picking up your pencil and glancing down at the math problems in front of you.
rin chuckled under his breath, settling back into his chair, watching you as you turned to the first problem. "just focus," he said, his voice calm and patient. "you're smart, aren't you?"
you shot him a quick, slightly annoyed look, but he only smirked, clearly enjoying the playful banter. as you started working through the problem, you could feel rin’s eyes on you, but you tried to ignore it, focusing on the numbers in front of you.
"okay, so the first step is-" rin began, but you interrupted him before he could finish.
"yeah, yeah, i know," you muttered, scribbling the first step on your paper, your eyes not entirely focused on the problem.
rin raised an eyebrow, clearly seeing that your attention wasn’t fully there. "you’re not listening."
you shot him a guilty look, realizing he’d caught you zoning out. "sorry," you sighed, rubbing your forehead. "it’s hard to concentrate when you're sitting there all calm and serious."
he let out a soft laugh, shaking his head. "it’s not gonna get easier if you don’t focus. trust me, you’ll regret it when you see how much you’re behind."
you rolled your eyes but couldn’t help but feel a little motivation stirring. maybe it was the fact that rin was there, or maybe it was the unspoken promise of a reward waiting for you if you could push through. either way, you refocused and went back to the problem.
"alright," you said with a sigh, "let's get this over with."
rin watched you quietly as you worked, offering gentle guidance when you needed it, but for the most part letting you figure it out on your own. every time you finished a problem, you looked up expectantly, waiting for him to deliver the promised reward, but rin just gave you a small smile, not saying anything.
you were getting frustrated. "rin, where’s my reward?"
he glanced at you, his smirk widening just slightly. "you haven’t finished all your work yet," he said. "keep going, and i’ll make sure it’s worth your while."
you groaned but picked up your pencil again, determined to finish what you’d started. you had to admit, even though math still wasn’t fun, having rin there made it a little easier to bear.
summary: rin is a tease.

#003 : you're impossible.
when you both were 18, things seemed to settle into place more naturally. the night had been perfect - a quiet dinner, a stroll through the city streets, and now, standing in front of your apartment building, the night air was cool and refreshing.
there had always been a comfortable silence between the two of you, and tonight was no exception. you didn’t need to say anything; it was enough just to be together, walking side by side, feeling the warmth of his presence.
as you reached the front of the building, you paused, turning to face him. you couldn't help but smile at the sight of him - the way the light from the streetlamps caught in his hair, the slight tilt of his head as he looked at you. without really thinking, you leaned up on your tiptoes, brushing your lips against his cheek in a soft kiss.
rin immediately tensed, his usual composed expression flickering for just a moment as a faint blush spread across his cheeks. you pulled back, a teasing smile on your face.
"you know," you said, your voice light, "whenever i kiss your cheek, you get so red."
he shifted slightly, rubbing the back of his neck in that way he always did when he was flustered. his eyes dropped to the ground for a moment before he looked back up at you, the corners of his mouth curving into a small, almost shy smile. "i don’t," he muttered, though the evidence was right there in the way his cheeks were flushed.
you laughed softly, your heart warming at how cute he looked when he got embarrassed. "you totally do," you teased, nudging him gently.
rin let out a small sigh, but there was no mistaking the affection in his voice when he spoke next. "you're impossible," he said, though there was a smile hidden in the words.
you stepped closer, your fingers brushing against his as you looked up at him, a soft smile on your lips. the quiet between you both was comfortable, but now, it felt like something more.
"i love you," rin said suddenly, his voice low but full of sincerity.
you blinked, your heart skipping a beat. it wasn’t that you hadn’t known, hadn’t felt it - but hearing him say it out loud was something different. it made everything seem more real, more significant. you couldn’t help the smile that tugged at your lips as you stared at him, the words hanging in the air between you.
you stepped forward, pressing your lips to his in a soft kiss. the moment felt electric, like time slowed down, and everything else in the world faded away.
when you pulled back, you looked at each other, the warmth of his breath mingling with yours. "i love you too," you whispered.

#004 : who is that?
when you both were 18, things between you and rin had been progressing, and though you were close, it wasn’t always obvious to others just how deep your connection went. it was one of those small moments that made everything clear - like the time you had to sit alone in class because ayane was sick that day.
before you went to school, you gave ayane a few meds and made her breakfast. this meant you had to take your seat in the front of the classroom by yourself. you didn’t mind. it was just another class, another day. but what you didn’t expect was for some random guy from your class to walk over and ask if he could sit next to you.
“hey, you’re y/n, right?” he asked, flashing you a grin. “mind if i sit here? looks like ayane absent today.”
you were a little caught off guard, but you shrugged. “sure, go ahead.”
he slid into the seat next to you without hesitation, and before you knew it, he was striking up a conversation. you weren’t really interested in talking to him, but you didn’t want to be rude, so you responded politely. it wasn’t long before you felt uncomfortable, though. the guy leaned in a little too close, trying to make jokes and keep the conversation going, but it just wasn’t your thing.
meanwhile, rin sat in his usual spot at the back of the classroom, his eyes focused on the notes in front of him. you couldn’t help but notice that every now and then, his gaze would flicker toward you. it was subtle, but you could tell he was aware of the situation. still, he didn’t say anything.
as the bell finally rang, signaling the end of class, you quickly packed your things and left the room, trying to shake off the awkwardness of the situation. rin was already walking ahead of you, his hands in his pockets, his usual aloof expression firmly in place. you jogged to catch up with him, giving him a light tap on the shoulder.
“hey,” you said, trying to lighten the mood, “you’re awfully quiet today. what’s up?”
rin didn’t answer immediately, but when he did, his voice was flat and a little off. “nothing.”
you raised an eyebrow. “really? you seem off.”
he shrugged, still walking ahead. “just didn’t like that guy sitting next to you,” he muttered. you blinked in surprise. “jealous?” you teased, a playful grin tugging at your lips.
“i’m not jealous,” rin replied quickly, but you could see the slight tension in his shoulders. “i just don’t like it when people get too close to you.” you couldn’t help but laugh, teasing him a little more. “aww, you are jealous! admit it!”
rin shot you a glare, though you could tell it was more out of embarrassment than anger. “i'm not jealous, y/n,” he said, his voice a little softer now. “i just don’t like when other people try to get your attention. it's obvious we're together.”
you smiled, walking closer to him and bumping your shoulder into his. “well, don’t worry,” you said, “you’re the only one i’m interested in.” he glanced at you, his face softening just a little. “yeah?” he asked.
you nodded, wrapping your arm around his. “yeah, i’m sure. you’re the only one for me.”
rin’s usual cool exterior returned, but you saw the small smile tug at the corners of his lips. “good,” he muttered, the tension between you both easing.
with that, you both continued your walk home, the unspoken understanding between you clearer than ever.
summary: rin is a jealous, jealous man.

#005 : it hurts.
when you both were 18, rin had a way of noticing the small things, even when you didn’t expect him to. you didn’t know it yet, but he had quietly marked the days on his calendar when you’d usually feel your worst.
it was one of those days. you stayed curled up on your bed, clutching a heating pad to your stomach as waves of discomfort rolled through you. the cramps were relentless, and even the thought of getting up felt like an impossible task.
you sighed, burying your face in the pillow. you didn’t want to complain, but it was one of those days where everything just felt a little too much.
a soft knock on your door pulled you out of your thoughts. you frowned, confused - ayane and milya weren't home, and you weren’t expecting anyone. reluctantly, you dragged yourself out of bed, wrapping a blanket around your shoulders as you shuffled to the door.
when you opened it, you were greeted by the sight of rin, standing there with a familiar paper bag in one hand and a water bottle in the other. his expression was calm, but there was a hint of concern in his eyes as he looked you over.
“what are you doing here?” you asked, surprised but happy to see him.
he stepped inside without waiting for an invitation, gently nudging you back toward your room. “you didn’t answer my texts,” he said simply, setting the bag down on your desk. “figured something was up.”
you blinked, realizing you’d completely forgotten to check your phone. “oh. sorry,” you mumbled, shuffling back to your bed and sinking onto it with a groan. “just wasn’t feeling great.”
“i know,” rin said quietly, sitting softly on your bed.
you frowned at him, confused. “what do you mean, you know?”
he glanced away, rubbing the back of his neck. “i keep track,” he admitted, his voice low. “on my calendar. just in case you ever need anything.”
your heart skipped a beat at his words. before you could respond, he reached for the bag and pulled out a neatly wrapped box of cookies.
“figured these might help,” he said, holding them out to you. “it's a long time since we visited that coffee shop.”
you stared at the cookies, warmth blooming in your chest despite the pain. “rin, you didn’t have to-"
“i wanted to,” he cut you off, his tone firm but gentle. “you always take care of everyone else. let me take care of you for once.”
a small smile crept onto your lips as you took the cookies from him, your fingers brushing against his. “I LOVE YOUUU SO MUCH, RINNIE,” you screamed, jumping at him and you both fell onto the bed.
rin didn't need large gestures or elaborate words to show he cared. he showed it in the small, thoughtful things he did - like remembering your favorite cookies and being there when you needed him most.
and that was more than enough.

#006 : it doesn't change.
when you both were 19, rin’s talent and hard work finally paid off. he made it into japan’s official nationals football team - a dream he’d been chasing since you’d known him. you were beyond proud, but his success came with long days of practice, meetings, and media obligations.
you hadn’t seen him for a week. eight long days without the quiet comfort of his presence, without the subtle warmth he brought into your life. it felt strange not to have him around, and you couldn’t help but miss him more than you thought you would.
when he finally showed up at your door late one evening, you barely had time to react before his arms wrapped tightly around you, pulling you into him like he was afraid you might disappear.
“oh! rin-" you started, surprised by the sudden embrace.
“hey baby,” he murmured against your shoulder, his voice soft but firm.
you froze for a moment, then slowly relaxed into his hold, your arms coming up to wrap around him. he was warm, and the way he clung to you made your heart ache in the best way.
“i missed you so much,” he said quietly, his voice muffled against your hair.
your fingers tightened around the back of his shirt, grounding him. “i missed you too,” you whispered, a small smile tugging at your lips.
he pulled back just enough to look at you, his usual composed demeanor nowhere to be found. his eyes were softer, vulnerable in a way you didn’t see often. “i don’t want to let go of you,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
your heart skipped a beat at his words. rin wasn’t one to express his emotions so openly, but when he did, it always left you breathless.
“then don’t,” you replied softly, reaching up to brush a strand of hair out of his face. “i’m not going anywhere.”
he leaned into your touch, his eyes closing briefly as if he was savoring the moment. “it’s been so busy,” he murmured. “but all i could think about was you.”
you felt your chest tighten, overwhelmed by the weight of his words. “yeah?” you said gently, taking his hand in yours. “you’re here now.”
he looked at you, his expression a mix of gratitude and longing, before pulling you back into his arms. this time, the embrace was softer, less urgent but no less meaningful. for a while, you just stood there in the quiet, holding each other as the world outside faded away.
“i’m so proud of you, rin,” you whispered against his chest. “you’ve worked so hard for this.”
his arms tightened around you, and you felt the faintest smile against your hair. “it doesn’t mean anything if i can’t share it with you,” he said, his voice steady and full of conviction.
you stayed like that for a long time, wrapped in each other’s warmth, neither of you wanting to let go.
the peace didn’t last long, though, as you heard a muffled voice from the couch.
“ew, can you two not?” milya groaned, exaggerating her disgust as she tossed a pillow in your direction. rin chuckled softly but didn’t pull away from you, clearly content where he was.
“look who’s talking,” you shot back. “you’re the one practically glued to chigiri over there.” milya crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow, her face scrunching in mock offense. “we’re subtle, thank you very much.”
“subtle?” chigiri snorted, raising his head from the back of the couch. “you’ve got the blanket wrapped around you like a burrito, and you’re not even trying to hide it.”
you laughed but then turned to rin, whose hands were still holding onto you. “seriously, though,” you began, voice tinged with playful frustration, “hyoma, you fucking lied to me. you told me rin wouldn’t be home until next week!"

#007 : huh?
when you both were 22, life had changed in ways you hadn’t expected. rin had just wrapped up an important season with the national football team, and things between you two were going incredibly well. you had both grown so much, and your relationship felt like it was settling into something permanent.
you found yourselves on the bed, curled up together with a movie playing in the background. the usual comfort of rin’s presence was even more evident tonight, as his body was pressed against yours. you could feel his warmth, the steady rise and fall of his chest as he relaxed, his hand gently resting on your thigh.
the movie faded into the background, your attention slowly shifting to rin. there was a shift in the air, and you could sense he had something on his mind.
“hey,” rin said, breaking the comfortable silence. his voice was quiet, a little hesitant, which was unusual for him.
“yeah?” you turned toward him, raising an eyebrow.
he shifted slightly, eyes meeting yours. “have you ever thought about... moving in together?”
you blinked, not expecting the question at all. you stared at him for a second, the words sinking in. it wasn’t the first time you’d talked about your future, but this felt different. this wasn’t just a passing thought; rin was serious.
“you mean, like… us living together?” you asked, making sure you were hearing him correctly.
rin nodded, his expression a little more vulnerable than you were used to. “yeah. i mean, we’ve been together for a while now, and i just thought maybe it’s time.”
your heart skipped a beat, and you felt a little caught off guard. living together - really living together - was a huge step. but at the same time, you couldn’t deny the fact that it felt right.
you smiled, your heart softening at how much he was thinking about the future with you. “you know, i've thought about it too.”
rin’s face softened at your words, relief flooding his features. “really?”
“yeah,” you nodded, taking his hand in yours. “i mean, i love being with you. and we’ve been making this work for so long now.” you hesitated, your thumb tracing circles on the back of his hand. “it makes sense, doesn’t it?”
rin’s eyes lit up at your response, a small but genuine smile tugging at his lips. “so, is that a yes?”
you chuckled, leaning in to kiss his cheek, the familiar warmth of his skin making everything feel more real. “yeah, rinnie. it’s a yes.”
he grinned, pulling you closer as if he couldn’t let you go. “good,” he whispered, “because i can’t imagine living with anyone else.”
you settled back into his arms, feeling that sense of certainty wash over you. this was it. this was the next step. you and rin, together.
summary: rin itoshi always had a way to make you breathless.

#008 : one step further.
when you both were 23, you and rin had grown even closer, your bond stronger than ever. the years together had been filled with memories - trips, laughter, challenges, and so much more. the two of you had just wrapped up a vacation, a short getaway to the beach, where you both decided to relax and unwind after a busy few months.
the sun was setting, casting golden hues across the sky as the waves crashed against the shore. it was the kind of evening where everything seemed perfect, and the moment felt suspended in time. you and rin were walking along the beach, hand in hand, the soft sand beneath your feet as you both made your way toward a quiet spot near the water.
rin had been unusually quiet during your walk, but you didn’t think much of it. he was often lost in thought, especially during peaceful moments like this. but there was something in the way he was holding your hand, something in the way he kept glancing at you, that made you realize this was different.
“hey,” rin finally said, his voice low and filled with an emotion you couldn’t quite place.
“hm?” you looked up at him.
he stopped walking and turned toward you, his eyes locking with yours. for a moment, neither of you spoke. it was as if the world around you had faded away, leaving only the two of you standing there.
“you know,” he started, his voice slightly shaking as he spoke, “i've been thinking a lot lately. about everything we’ve been through, and everything that’s still ahead of us.” he took a deep breath, his gaze never leaving yours. “i can’t imagine my life without you in it.”
you felt your heart race, sensing the weight of his words. you smiled softly, not quite sure what he was leading up to.
“rin?” you asked, your voice a gentle whisper.
he swallowed, his hand tightening around yours, and then, out of nowhere, he reached into his pocket.
you blinked in surprise as he pulled out a small, velvet box, the kind you’d seen in movies but never imagined would be part of your reality. your breath caught in your throat as he opened it, revealing a delicate ring nestled inside.
“will you marry me?” rin asked, his voice steady but filled with so much love and sincerity.
you froze, staring at the ring in shock. this was happening. it wasn’t a dream.
“are you serious?” you whispered, your heart pounding in your chest.
he nodded, a soft smile tugging at his lips. “i've never been more serious about anything in my life. i love you so much, and i want to spend the rest of my life with you. because i want you to be mine. selfishly, thoughtlessly mine. just like the first time i said it."
the world around you seemed to pause as you took in his words. you couldn’t believe it. the man you loved, the one who had been by your side through everything, was asking you to marry him.
without thinking, you threw your arms around him, pulling him into a tight embrace. “yes,” you breathed, your voice thick with emotion. “yes, rin, of course, yes!”
rin laughed, relief flooding his face as he pulled away slightly to slip the ring onto your finger. the moment felt surreal, like a dream you didn’t want to wake up from.
“thank you,” he murmured, kissing your forehead as he cupped your face in his hands. “i've been wanting to ask you for so long.”
you smiled, your heart soaring as you looked at the ring and then back at him. “i can’t believe this is happening,” you whispered, your voice filled with wonder.
rin smiled back, his eyes twinkling with happiness. “it’s happening, and i promise I’m going to make you the happiest person in the world.”
the waves crashed nearby, the sun dipping below the horizon, but none of it mattered. you had everything you needed right in front of you. the man you loved, and the life you were about to build together.
summary: rin itoshi is the one.

#009 : what's this?
when you both were 25, life seemed to be unfolding in the most perfect way. you and rin had been married for a little over two years, and things between you two were better than ever. the house you shared was full of laughter, love, and the kind of happiness that only comes from building a life with someone you truly care about.
it was a lazy satursay morning, and you and rin were enjoying a rare day off. the sun streamed through the windows, casting a soft glow over the kitchen as you prepared breakfast together. rin was flipping pancakes while you set the table, humming along to some random tune in your head.
there was an air of contentment between you two, something peaceful and steady. but what you didn’t expect was the wave of excitement and nervousness that washed over you as you stood by the counter, trying to act normal. your hands trembled slightly, and you could feel your heart race as you looked down at the pregnancy test in your hand.
you’d taken it earlier, just to be sure, and now you had the answer in front of you. a baby.
you swallowed hard, trying to steady your breath. this was it. you were about to share the news with rin.
as you watched him, laughter in his eyes as he joked about the pancakes being burnt, you felt a strange combination of excitement and nervousness. this was a big moment, one that would change everything for both of you.
finally, you took a deep breath and walked over to rin, who had just placed the last pancake on the plate. you set the test down on the counter in front of him.
rin paused, his eyes widening slightly as he looked from the test to your face. “what’s this?” he asked, his voice suddenly filled with curiosity.
you bit your lip, trying to hold back the nervous smile tugging at your lips. “rin…” you started, your voice quiet but steady. “we’re going to have a baby.”
for a moment, rin just stared at you, his expression unreadable. and then, slowly, his eyes softened, and a wide grin spread across his face.
“wait, seriously?” he asked, his voice a mix of disbelief and joy. you nodded, your own smile growing as you reached for his hand. “yeah, seriously.”
rin blinked a few times, as if processing the words, and then he let out a laugh - joyful, pure, and completely overwhelming. he stepped toward you, pulling you into a tight embrace.
“oh my god, this is- this is amazing,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “we’re going to be parents.”
you laughed too, the weight of the news finally sinking in. it felt so surreal, but it was perfect. rin, the love of your life, was going to be the father of your child.
“we are,” you agreed, your voice full of happiness.
rin pulled back slightly to look at you, his eyes sparkling with excitement. “i'm going to be a father."
you chuckled, cupping his cheek as you leaned in to kiss him. “you will.”
rin kissed you back, the moment lingering between you two. and as you pulled away, you couldn’t help but think about the life you were about to start together - one filled with even more love, laughter, and little moments that would make your family feel whole.
summary: rin itoshi will be a good father.

#010 : the other woman.
when you both were 28, life had taken on a comfortable rhythm. work, family, and all the little moments in between had woven together into something truly beautiful. you and rin had built a life that felt like home, and it was even sweeter now with your little one, who was growing faster than either of you had expected.
on this particular day, you had an important interview, and rin was on dad duty, spending the afternoon alone with your daughter. he was completely smitten with her, and today was no different.
your daughter was now almost three years old, full of energy and curiosity, and she had a way of turning every moment into something magical. rin was in the living room, sitting on the floor with her as she tried to stack blocks, her tiny hands fumbling with them, but her determination unwavering.
“careful, sweetie,” rin said, his voice calm and gentle as he helped her place a block on top of another.
she giggled, looking up at him with her big eyes full of excitement. “daddy, look!” she said, pointing at the small tower of blocks she had built.
“wow, you’re so smart,” rin said, his voice full of pride. he leaned in, giving her a kiss on the cheek. “that’s amazing.”
your daughter beamed, her face lighting up with joy at the praise. “daddy, again!” she said, reaching for more blocks. rin smiled at her, his heart swelling with love for the tiny person who had captured it completely.
“alright, let’s make the biggest tower ever,” rin said, picking up a block and carefully adding it to her pile. as they worked together, he couldn’t help but laugh when she knocked it over again, sending the blocks scattering across the floor.
“oops!” she exclaimed, giggling. rin chuckled and shook his head, watching her with adoration.
“you sure know how to make a mess, don’t you?” he teased, reaching down to gather the blocks back into a pile. she tried to help but ended up making it even more chaotic, her little hands eager but uncoordinated.
rin’s phone buzzed from the counter, and he paused for a moment, checking the time. just a few more minutes until you’d be home.
“you’re a handful, but i wouldn’t trade you for anything,” rin murmured, smiling down at his daughter. she looked up at him, her eyes full of trust and affection.
suddenly, she reached out for him, her tiny arms open wide, wanting to be held. rin immediately scooped her up into his arms, cradling her against his chest.
“my little angel,” he whispered softly, kissing her forehead.
your daughter snuggled into him, her eyes starting to close as she grew tired from all the play. rin held her close, feeling her small breaths against his chest. it was moments like this that reminded him how lucky he was to be her dad.
he couldn’t wait to see you again and share all the little things she’d done while you were gone, but for now, he cherished this quiet, peaceful moment with his daughter.
as she drifted off to sleep in his arms, rin smiled, knowing that no matter what the future held, this - being her dad - was everything.
