The Nature of Gods
I often hear of how,
The Gods can be found in nature,
But I don't often hear,
Of the Gods within humans.
If the Gods can exist within nature,
Does that not also mean,
That they exist in us, too?
-
Can you see laughter-loving Aphrodite,
In the gleam of your smile?
Can you feel kind-hearted Hestia,
When there's a loving warmth in your chest?
Can you hear mischievous Hermes,
Within the memorable jokes you've told?
Can you see unbreakable Ares,
Every time you keep trying, despite the hardship?
Can you feel earthly Demeter,
When you eat a meal that you want savor?
Can you hear honey-voiced Apollon,
In the dulcet melodies you sing?
Can you see wild-hearted Artemis,
In your excitement before a thrilling experience?
Can you feel lion-hearted Hera,
Arise in you when you put your foot down?
Can you hear thunder-bringing Zeus,
When the power of your voice shines through?
Can you see dexterous Hephaestus,
In the careful movements of your hands when you craft?
Can you feel earth-shaking Poseidon,
As your blood rushes through your veins?
Can you hear foresighted Athena,
In the words of advice you give to others?
Can you see liberating Dionysus,
Every time you're free to truly express who you are?
-
For the gods do not reside solely in the Heavens,
They exist all around us,
And in everything we do,
They are not unreachably far,
Living in the clouds or on a distant mountaintop,
They are in the air that we breathe,
The cells that flow through our veins,
And each beat of our hearts.
The Gods exist in nature,
And we are a part of it.

The Devil's Minion / Interview With The Vampire
"What ties this wolf to this lamb, she figures, is the fact that it hasn’t eaten it. Painful mystery of the gift that returns through reflection: what the wolf loves in the lamb is its own goodness. It’s thanks to the lamb that the wolf accedes to the plane of love—the love that gives of itself without hope, without calculation, without response, but that nevertheless gives of itself, seeing itself give of itself. The wolf given to a lamb of the Griniov type who doesn’t even notice the enormity of the gift—that’s really love. There remains the infinite solitude of the wolf, invisible and unrecognized except by itself. What interest does Pougatchov have in not eating the lamb? The ascetic and dangerous interest of self-love. The lover loves the beloved, which is the occasion for generous love. But thereafter—thereafter there is the aftermath. Now the wolf can no longer break away from the lamb, for the lamb retains, for better or worse, traces of the gift. That which is given in love can never be taken back. It is me my entire self that I give with the gift of love. This is why the wolf can’t stop loving the lamb, the chosen one. Repository of the wolf. All of the wolf. That’s how love can ruin the lover." - translation of Hélène Cixous' The Love of the Wolf

Hail to the Old Gods;
The ancient ones, Deities of forest, mountain, and sea, for whom my ancestors poured from their ram horns.
Hail to the god of emotions, who teaches us when to embrace chaos and when to refrain for the moment.
Hail to the goddess of seiðr, who holds the key of divination in the waves of her golden hair trailing down her breasts.
Hail to the god of strength, guardian of the deer herds, who teaches me when to cry for help and when to stand and gore. Hail to the Allfather, whose unconventional wisdom hurt me greatly in the moment, but saved my soul from perpetual insanity through the binding of runes.
(Thank you all for everything)
Hail to the Old Gods.

Aphrodite
Is born from the sky and into the sea
And you can find her in the vivid, exquisite earth.
In the ripe, warm-coloured fruits on the tree which may remind you of the lush softness of fatty flesh or the tenderness of the heart.
There is so much love, so much beauty to be found in all that surrounds us,
And you can always find her there
In the depths and on the sun-warmed surface
Of the world and of yourself.

i love father hades, he’s the softness in darkness, the peace in silence, he’s strong and steady his hands never wavering. He’s wise and calm and despite his reputation his love is abundant. His love is soothing quiet, darkness after a long overwhelming day, soft music, tears and tenderness. He is fatherly and makes everything seem okay, he is a promise of kindness beyond life, and i think that in each pocket of relief, of love in the world, he is there. In tea, in friendship, in a stranger smiling at you, a wave between customers, a kiss on the cheek, a wagging tail of a pet. His love is gentle and steady, a rocking chair and i love him with deep tenderness.
