So @pinapin and I were talking about what would happen if you wrote a fic using a D20 to determine the outcomes of everything that a character attempts to do, and it snowballed into a full blown D&D fantasy AU
Race/class details below the cut!
Scout - half-orc/way of the drunken bonk master monk
Soldier - human/genie warlock
Pyro - ???/dragonblood sorcerer
Demo - triton/war wizard-fighter multiclass
Heavy - dwarf (with gigantism)/glory paladin
Engie - needs no introduction/artillerist artificer
Medic - vampire/order of the profane soul blood hunter
Sniper - human/sniper (tf2)
Spy - changeling/soulknife rogue
(ft. original scrapped soldier sheet; yes, Merasmus is his patron)
(and also ft. other sketches)
ignore the drow, this isn't about him
#tf2#they're all here I promise#d&d au#d&d#d&d 5e#worlds worst isekai anime#alternate universe#neo's funny art tag#tf2 au

can you guys tell I fucking hate the Minecraft movie
#not sorry for reblogging a hundred million posts calling it awful because holy shit it looks so bad#like I get it. it’s a kids game movie adaption cash grab#but it’s so utterly soulless that it looks like genuinely no one on the team has ever fucking played the game#and it’s a sandbox game anyway so like. the fuck is the point of making a narrative out of it#but if they WERE to make a narrative out of it… why the fuck choose to make a minecraft isekai bs basic ass plot#there’s so many much more creative directions they could’ve gone#also why the fuck is it live action of 90% of it is CGI. it looks uncanny and bad#just make a fucking animated movie. I’ve seen screenshots of the actual game that look better than that shit#also. like. there’s just so much they could’ve done.#I think isekai is objectively the worst direction they could’ve gone with it. why not just create something where Minecraft’s fictional#world IS the setting and the world the characters know and genuinely experience?#and THE FUCKING END POEM!!! like. the end poem is like. the whole thing. you play because the game wants to played. you survive because the#universe loves you and wants you to keep playing. idk the end poem alone is such a great prompt for a potential narrative alone#like I’ve seen Tumblr blogs come up with cooler world building than whatever bullshit this is.

It’s kind of funny how in so many of these reincarnation isekai stories out right now it almost always has ‘God’ having the main character reborn into nobility. Like at least the level at which marrying an emperor let alone prince/princess isn’t out of line!
It makes me wonder if he has a few worlds which exist just for this purpose of putting souls into that he feels sorry for.
Or maybe even just the one world with an angel going:
‘My Lord, this world doesn’t make logical or economic sense, there are almost as many nobles as commoners in it. Also the commoners seem to lack any free will or personality to speak of’
And god being extremely self conscious screeching :
‘This world was my first draft okay! Leave me alone!!! I didn’t want to waste it and I’m making use of it as best I can!’
#isekai#anime#tropes#maybe we need an anime of various deities or angels stressing out over this#Because the world building really is just terrible and it’s barely hanging by a thread#Also while the video game setting ones are often the worst written it almost makes sense: of course it’s bad it was a dating sim#But imagine a world where like every third person was an isekai protagonist of their own story

Bad End: Hidden Heir
Next ->
The Duke's family had very distinct eyes. It was genetic. An aggressively dominant trait at that, though it tended to die off, after a few generations out of the family. Supposedly a "blessing of the Gods". Spring to be exact. Bounty and luck. And the family certainly WAS bountiful.
In all the best and worst ways.
Wealth, corruption, children and bastards. It was a family so aggressively ALIVE, it could only be Spring's blessing that made them so. Pouring mania and madness into their veins like sweet sunlight. Whispering glory and riches, into power addled ears. They burst with life. Even as they endlessly destroyed themselves.
They were fictional.
Fascinating set dressings, for the stage play of someone else's story. Unimportant beyond their role in world building. As the origin story and power base of a character lead.
The Story ITSELF didn't even occur here. But rather, in the capital. Where the players of significance had gathered.
And I? Oh I was some minor antagonist, so insignificant to the plot, I genuinely could not remember which of seven different women I actually WAS. It had been an ongoing series. Otome Isekai. Reverse harem.
And I was either in the ORIGINAL original novel, the isekai'd plot novel, the anime adaption, OR a horrifying fever dream. My memory was largely useless. But? I did remember the characters. The archetypes.
And the fact, that the author had clearly been going though a Yandere phase.
My region of the Reverse Harem collect-o-thon? Horrifying! Red flags everywhere! No one here should date, leave room for fantasy Jesus, have we considered the joys of being a NUN? Yes. Yes I HAVE thought about it.
I was pretty sure I'd never make it. End up dead or captured by some sort of Nun Yandere. Or God Yandere. Possibly both. Assuming the bandit yanderes don't get me first. It... it was very stressful, living here.
Luckily? I knew when I could leave.
Or so I thought.
Because my house? The Dukedom? Had the "yandere butler who is secretly an heir." Who starts out with loyal dog behavior. A little highly possesive master and servant play. Then rises to become a Duke. Presumably? That is when I die. Or am disowned.
Death is most likely. Since my role was "minor antagonist" and I was to be mean to the sweet, earnest, Harem possessing Protagonist. Don't see WHY I would. Live and let live. Good for her etc etc. But regardless? Best to avoid, just in case.
The problem? Who do you think Mr Illegitimate Heir serves before she gets here? The OTHER possible heirs? Of course not! They'd "oops! Hunting accident~" him in a heart beat. Father isn't stupid. And my sisters? Issues. Violent, violent, issues.
He ends up with ME.
Father, WHY.
Obviously, I ignore him. I see nothing. I hear nothing. There is no war in Ba Sing Se. Mmmmm, tea. Good book. Ignore his creepy staring. His creepy, creepy staring.
Thankfully? I never really ran out of Totally Legitimate reasons to send him away to learn or do something. Proper tea making. Door maintenance. Eastern embroidery. Something, anything, and off you go! Bye bye~☆!
Unfortunately. He got faster. Better and better at learning. Mastering skills. Coming BACK. Showing up to stand in the corner, silent and looming, like an omen of death. Those damn eyes. The fucking family eyes!
I don't have them. And NOT as, my Father would have me believe, because I "take after my Mother". But because I am not genetically related to the Duke. I have GOLD eyes. When I wear the right shade of green? I pass. So I am condemned to forever wear green. Don't even really like it much. But?
I am pretty damn sure? I was just... pretty.
A lovely, orphaned, golden eyed child that COULD pass as his. So why not? It was a whim that payed off. Unlike in the original stories, I imagine. Since I am by FAR the best behaved child in this entire house. Ha! Suck it, bio-kids, the adopted one's the favorite! Maybe should have been less lil bitchs.
....I carefully do not say.
Those are INSIDE thoughts.
Fuck. He's still LOOMING. Isn't he? Go awaaaaaay. Where is Protag-chan? Come be doe eyed and busty! Trip adorably! Go "kyaaa~" or something! I feel body heat and freeze. He's leaning over my shoulder to pick up the teapot, pour me another cup. I can FEEL the barest graze of his knuckles against my back, from where he's gripped my chair. The smell of his aftershave almost hauntingly pleasant.
Like he KNEW exactly what smells I liked most. Went out of his way to find one that best suited my preference. Coincidence. Please, PLEASE be a coincidence! I do not turn my head. Keep my eyes locked straight ahead. Barely breathing.
He steps back.
The new pot is sharp and herbal. Almost bitter. I force myself to drink. Can't see a sugar dish, and REFUSE to turn around and ask for one. Ignore. IGNORE. My pounding heart calms. My muscles slowly start to relax.
It... it IS weird, though, now that I think about it? That Protag-chan hasn't reached the Dukedom yet. She should have. God only knows I sent Creepy to the capital enough times, with enough highly specific instructions, that he should've had his meet cute's and dates by the dozen. Been half way in love. So... why...?
Huh.
Dizzy.
The taste of tea sits wrong on my tounge. I stop drinking as the world sways. Letting the cup fall from my hand. Splatter, roll, and shatter. I try desperately to stand. A gentle gloved hand catches my elbow, supporting me. I turn. Giddy eyes. Triumphant, wide, spring green eyes. Too green to be gold, too gold to be green.
An almost cruel, mocking, yet loving grin.
Another hand slides around my waist, braces me against his side. Gleeful little murmurs, too pleased to be reassuring. You. You did this! You DRUGGED ME!
I can barely move, body relaxing against my command, going limp, as he draws me close. Presses his face against the side of my head, against my temple. A deep, shuddering breathe, that he savors like wine. I try to pull free but can not. Feel his lips pull into a vicious grin against my skin. Hands begin to run in gentle, claiming, exploration.
And at last the drugs kick in... the wo..rld..
G..oes..
Dar..k........

GREETINGS! How are you doing? I've been practically gobbling up your posts (there very tasty)
Ok so hear me out- I've seen a couple posts like this but imagine-
The almighty all powerful wise creator isss
✨️A literal child✨️
Thanks for hearing me out! For you ->->❤️
Baby you taking on the world aw
DAMN SORRY FOR TAKING FOREVER!! i started fics before i answered my askbox :/
Aw i fucking love child reader stuff,
Lots of isekai animes/manhwa/manga do it and i eat that shit up everytime-
I also deeply appreciate when its not done creepily, like being turned 8 again, and having crushes on others who are... yknow, actually 8 yrs old or sm fucked up shit, like even if its 16 yr olds that doesnt make it any better, bc the protag will actually be like,, actually 20?!?!💀 the straights r wild man, i feel like it happens either way too, like its usually a male MC but thats just bc theyre more common tbh, like regardless of gender of protag 🥲
☆
Sun: Child God Reader (you/they/them)
Orbit: Short Headcanons
Stars: Mondstadt ppl bc i don't show them i love them enough
Comets & Meteors: Content Warnings: none known & Trigger Warnings: none known.
Please comment any I missed. /gen
Klee has recruited converted you to throwing bombs with her.
You are the only leash on that child too and the only thing standing between Jean and full head of gray hair. 💀
Kaeya doesn’t know whether he’s endlessly worried or endlessly amused that the most powerful god is currently a child
if Jean isnt freaking out over ur whereabouts, Diluc is instead, and worst case scenario, Noelle/Lisa/Albedo is in charge of you
and YES someone has to look out for you, bc ur ass will just start making a hot springs spot like ur in ur teapot or smth in dragonspine (Albedo was fascinated it stayed warm despite the weather so he let you make it/enjoy it before asking u to restore natural order lol)
(Albedo has definitely asked to study you and, unfortunately for Jean, asked u to demonstrate several powers u have)
You do work as a lucky charm for Bennett tho so he does babysit u sometimes
it mostly consists of Fischl, Benny, and Razor “adventuring” by trying to do smth like who can jump on the Anemo slimes and ride them around longest
(the answer is you btw, u managed to get a small fleet of them to bus you around, the teens were simultaneously terrified running around below u to catch you and also amazed)
Noelle is so happy making toddler you all the pancakes you can eat, Sucrose had to stop her from going overboard and not just listening completely to kids when it comes to food
She is now very concerned with making you a balanced diet, tho she will still make u an ungodly tall stack of pancakes every now and then <3
They kind of all equally provide for you, obv ur their god, and ur a literal cutie patootie child, they cant just leave you
(also u might like move a mountain or change the weather or smth if they don't watch you so most are a little paranoid of that too)
Lisa gets u all kinds of cute outfits, still stuff you'd like, but definitely snuck in some sumeru looking clothing lol
Fischl lends you all kinds of books to read, Bennett shows u all the cool views in the city and outside of it (when Jean lets him get away with taking u that far), and Razor…
Razor brings you to Andrius and the wolf pack for a wolf pack party and gives u all kinds of shiny trinkets he’d collected for you
Diluc/Jean/Noelle/Eula nearly had a heart attack when they found out
Amber lets you have all the piggyback rides you want lol
she even managed with her own crafting powers (and your probably editing the game code or smth) she somehow makes a reinforced glider with a small harness on the back for you to glide with her
(Venti has definitely helped for some fun flights by boosting the winds for you two)
SPEAKING OF BARBATOS
ur absolutely spoiled rotten by him (and Dvalin, and Andrius, and the wind sprites)
if this god had money he’d spend it on wine and you lol
takes u flying all the time, any time, would drop everything to go to Mondstadt wilds and use his archon form wings to take you wherever you wanna go
tries to bring u to Angel’s Share but Diluc nearly hits him on the head with a wine bottle and brings you back home after kicking Venti out and giving you grape juice (yes you get all you want, within a healthy amount)
anyway the most important part abt you being a god and child is that you can now fulfill your childhood dreams of riding a dragon whenever you want
(one way to quickly get Mondstadt citizens to trust Dvalin again was just constantly seeing him flying overhead, occasionally seeing a small child on his back also helped lol)
(neither you nor Venti tell Jean you ride Dvalin and keep it an active secret from her.)
☆
srry i took so long! i hope u liked my hot mess of writing (i think its even sloppier than usual bc of all the fic writing full sentences lately)
and if not, I'm sorrryyy 😭😭
I'm focusing on getting thru a haul of asks before getting around to posting that Eldritch AU Part 2 if anyone reads this :)
hope u guys are have a great weekend, thanks for all the birthday wishes!! :D

LOCKED AND LOADED [Yandere!Wanderer x Reader]
Prompt: The world is about to end. How will you grieve when you're forced to be with a miserable man until the last second? [Dedicated To: @mixed-kester for the Alone Together Event]
Content Tags: yandere!scaramouche "fluff" oneshot (yes, there are no other parts:]), major persona 3 spoilers but you DON’T need to know the game before reading this since everything is explained, improper use of a S.E.E.S evoker /j, Scaramouche is so normal about you, UNRELIABLE NARRATOR, major character death/s–
V. Acceptance.
"Where the hell are you, (Y/n)?"
Standing near what should have been the front doors of his university was a short man with dark purple hair. He leaned precariously against them, his head tilted upward as if the sickly green moon's ominous pull was nothing to be afraid of. Gekkoukan University's nearby dorms– fraternity and sorority houses included– are not usually this silent. Instead of people, coffins were aligned perpendicular to the ground.
The wanderer glanced at his watch with mild interest. He had been waiting for a while now. Your guest hoisted himself up, circling the ground with the tip of his shoe. The baseline of his attitude had always defaulted to irritability and passive-aggressiveness. The vertically aligned hour-and-minute hands do not placate it. The timing itself makes it worse.
It's December 31st, 2009, 12 AM– the Dark Hour.
With a harsh sneer, he pocketed his hands. You usually have the door to the Velvet Room open to him whenever. What's the big deal? Were you seriously THAT mad at him? Really? He didn't do anything to warrant this "pettiness". He had never known silence as much as this moment.
You should've accounted for the hostility that proceeds on the "off-chance" he did arrive early.
His tone darkened, his bloodied hands gripping his S.E.E.S evoker tightly.
"If you don’t show up, I will cleanse the world of human emotion all by myself"
You shook from afar, afraid of how he wouldn't hesitate to make his threat a reality. He had already taken so much– you were beyond mad at him. You were terrified. Wronged. Abused. You didn't want to step into the light. Much worse, step into his shadow.
The worst thing evil can do is to turn you into one of them.
He clutched the bloodied yellow scarf in his hands tightly.
Why did this happen?
How did things END up like this?
IV. Depression.
You took a deep breath and charged forward.
You don't trust [Wanderer] ever since Ryoji told him about the impending apocalypse.
Seldom do you leave the Velvet Room. You weren't hiding in the Velvet room months before the end of the world was imminent. When April had only reached its fourth day, there was nothing you wanted more than to spend time outside. So ignominiously innocent. You did not know who [Wanderer] was and how much effect he would have on your life at the time. You were just tired of the ongoing stream of uneventfulness.
And now here you are, berating the protagonist in full.
"[Wanderer], why is Ryoji missing?! US ATTENDANTS CAN'T FIND TRACK HIM ANYWHERE!!!"
With a fistful of his university uniform, you yanked him by the collar. Your eyes were livid as you reeled your composure. This wasn't what you had in mind when you were "isekai"d into a video game. Out of any game, why did it have to be Persona 3? And out of anyone that could be a protagonist, why did it have to be HIM?!
You thought this would be a grand affair... Whatever they spun in anime back when your reality existed were pure lies. Where are the scenic views? The mountains? The grasslands? This plane of existence you're forced to sit through for eternity was far from the RPG fantasy people would hope for. No closer you could ever be to paradise.
In fact, this man is threatening to ruin said paradise.
[Wanderer] pulled your hands away forcefully. His glare was not that different from yours. "Why do you care about him so much?"
"Oh, I don't know! Maybe it's because his death means forgetting everything?!" You clenched your empty fists. "You know damn well what happens if he dies! You'll lose all the help you can get to stopping the Fall!"
Such a heavy weight on your shoulders but the protagonist doesn't care. This may be a turn-based game– but it wasn't based on you. If it was, you wouldn't be screaming your heart out at him! You wouldn't be an NPC. Hell, you'd probably be a better protagonist than him.
You closed your eyes, took a deep breath, and sighed every stress out of your system.
"Listen—" You rubbed your temple. "You need to start forming bonds. Social links. Support system. Confidants. Whatever you want to call it. You were supposed to have the answer by now as to what life is for."
[Wanderer] remained silent throughout your spiels. His facial expression alone was enough to infer immense disinterest. You were mindlessly doing your job. There will be no tirade or physical aggression that can convince him that you believe in your assertions with full conviction.
"Do you want to see him?"
"Yes! Of course. Knowing you, you're—"
"Tempted to kill him because you think I want the world to end?"
"Obviously."
That's where you're wrong.
A nihilistic man can have other reasons to commit murder.
"But if he's missing, you can forget about him, right?"
"What on earth are you talking about?!"
[Wanderer] turned around. "Meet me later, you know the time."
"I'll show you where Ryoji is."
III. Bargaining.
XX/09/2009
He doesn't recall the time he was brought into this world like you had.
Puppets are malleable. Memories are easy to overwrite when your body is held together by white wood and "khemia". His past evades him.
Maybe it's better this way.
He took you to Chagall Café. Although it was your first time out in a long while, he had no qualms about ignoring your questions. He feigned deafness as you asked about the news, his college life, friends, or anything related to what was happening in 2009. And he even ignored your humble request to buy the cheapest coffee for you. Instead, he bought you a chocolate frappe.
"For Elizabeth's cutest little sibling." He said, sarcastically copying Elizabeth's tone as he sharply handed the drink. "Wouldn't want everyone's darling to get a caffeine addiction."
Thanks, asshat.
Of all his offensive behavior— he really spent more money just to insult you. You shook your head and accepted it. It's the most expensive one on the menu too. What dedication to being a hater. But before you could open your wallet, he shot your payment down.
"Just take it." He smirked. "Look at you, paying me back for treating you poorly. Are you a masochist?"
You immediately shoved your money back in. "You still bought me a free drink, so really, who's the loser here? Prick."
[Wanderer] laughed heartily before he pulled out his battered codal, which had underlined texts for provisions he deemed important. There was a momentary softness in his gaze that disappeared in an instant.
But that's the only conversation he planned on having that evening. He did mention he'll drag you out in his study session so you weren't too shocked by it. Instead, you sat and awkwardly people-watched. The world you came from and this one were identical. You got through your old 2009 just fine— it's just that Tatsumi Port Island was not a real location from your original Japan.
Your memories about the video game Persona aren't very clear since you reincarnated in the game, but the red band [Wanderer] wore on his sleeve affirmed that he is the leader of S.E.E.S. It's nice to know that someone like him has the potential to become a leader.
[Wanderer] appeared wholly immersed in his studies.
…
Maybe he wouldn't notice if you looked around—
…?!
He immediately grabbed your hand. You yelped slightly as you noticed the iron grip he had.
"Where are you going?"
Don't leave him.
He squeezed just a bit more tightly.
"W-What the— I'm just going to the bathroom." You felt a shiver down your spine as you shared his gaze. There's a dull coldness to it you couldn't quite place, as if he had been a witness to injustice, sevenfold.
You quietly sat back down. He still hasn't let go of your hand.
"Good riddance." He muttered.
"If it isn't [Wanderer]!"
You turned around, yanking your hand away.
It's Ryoji.
You stood up, gawking.
"W-Woah, are you okay?" Ryoji asked, hurriedly approaching you. While you were frozen in place, [Wanderer] looked at his empty hand, feeling your warmth escape his fingertips.
G-Good… he's still alive.
You thought [Wanderer] killed him.
[Wanderer] is the wildcard, and that's a terrifying factor to consider. He hasn't shown any interest in humanity. Knowing his past has not increased any hope on your end. Everyone else in his eyes are insignificant insects.
He has the power to end Ryoji.
He has the power to end this world.
Locked and loaded.
Ryoji's eyes softened. "Wait, I think I know a beautiful face like yours from somewhere… You must be [Wanderer]'s attendant, (Y/n), right?"
You blinked.
"Wait, how did you…"
He chuckled, taking and placing a soft kiss on your gloved hands.
"I have my ways." Ryoji winked.
"Don't touch them." [Wanderer] sneered.
Ryoji stood up straight, unfazed by his threatening tone. You took a moment to examine his appearance. He had a lot of white clothing and a big yellow scarf around his neck. Just below his left eye is a mole. On the surface, he appeared quite human, but everyone seated at this table was aware of his true nature.
He is the 13th arcana. The appraiser.
You and [Wanderer] have every right to be wary.
"I'm Ryoji Mochizuki. It's nice to be officially introduced to you, Mx. (Y/n)."
"Ryoji Mochizuki…" You tasted the syllables.
"Oh? Who knew hearing my name from your lips makes it sound so wonderful."
"C-Cut it out, you don't mean that." You said, a little flustered.
[Wanderer]'s gaze fixated on you, stewing in his concoction of envy and misery. His fists were clenched beneath the table, knuckles turning white. With narrowed eyes, he watched as you continued engaging in conversation with Ryoji. His laughter was grating his ears. He couldn't bear the sight of you engaging with another man, especially someone as flirtatious as him.
Ryoji, sensing [Wanderer]'s distress, shot him a casual glance. To top the look, he paired it with a knowing smirk. He made mental notes of the man's clenched jaw and tensed shoulders.
"You seem a little on edge, [Wanderer]. Finals coming up?" He feigned innocence.
"It's December, and I'm not on edge." He scoffed, trying not to make his gritted teeth evident. "Don't you own a calendar? Finals are in March. To think a pea-brain like you managed to transfer to Gekkan…"
"Right, right." Ryoji smiled, closing his eyes. "Then it must be my proposal you're thinking of."
You stiffened; [Wanderer] did not.
"Ryoji—"
"I know, Mx. (Y/n)." He started. "I know you're not too keen on the idea of killing me. My existence is the affirmation of the Fall. None of you— sorry, I forgot (Y/n) is from the Velvet room— I meant none of them will live till Spring… Or perhaps it's more accurate to say they'll forfeit the will to live."
…
"… I-I'm sorry." Ryoji buried his face in his yellow scarf. There's a certain tremble in his voice that truly emphasizes his sorrow. "Just as all living things die, the flow of time cannot be hindered. But there's comfort in killing me. If you do… you won't have to suffer for the coming days."
If [Wanderer] kills Ryoji, Tartarus, the Dark Hour— the burden of everyone's memories will all disappear.
But [Wanderer] can retain his.
He's not originally from this world after all…
However, should he let him live, the rest of S.E.E.S's life will continue until everyone's inevitable demise.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."
[Wanderer] rolled his eyes, diverting his eyes back to his notes. "Everyone will die soon, who cares? I've heard your spiel several times already. You need to get more entertaining material."
"[Wanderer]!" You scolded him.
Your eyes widened in disbelief at [Wanderer]'s unwittingly casual jabs at the apocalypse. You wanted to ask him if he was even listening, but the truth will disappoint you. A cold sweat formed on your brow.
Ryoji's smile crooked into a hopeless one.
"You depend on (Y/n) too much."
[Wanderer] froze. "What did you say…?"
"You have a group of people around you, eager to establish a bond— eager to be friends with you. You have met Junpei, Yukari, Mitsuru, Akihiko, Fuuka, and many others– but you don't consider any of them as your friends." Ryoji shook his head. "Instead, you spend your time with just (Y/n). Never anyone else. Just them. To the point that I think it's unhealthy."
"I don't care for humans." He replied immediately.
"You're human too, [Wanderer]." Ryoji shot back. "You're made of blood, bones, and flesh."
[Wanderer] fell silent. What Ryoji said was true, and yet…
"Am I?" He laughed.
The sound was hollow and mechanical. Deprived of genuine mirth. It did not sound forced, yet his eyes were dull.
…
Perhaps he lived as a puppet for so long that the idea of being human has yet to reach him.
Ryoji shifted, uncomfortably glancing between you two. The tension was palpable despite the cafe's peaceful ambiance. Ryoji cleared his throat softly.
"I should leave…" He trailed off, voice slightly wavering. His eyes darted around, scrambling for words to say. "But, um, before I leave, I just want to say again that you need to give it some more thought, [Wanderer]... It's a big deal… Just…"
Ryoji sighed. "Remember to make your choice to spare or kill me by December 31st. I'm glad you're having fun but don't get too distracted with (Y/n). I'll be waiting."
That being said, his footsteps reverberated loudly in the otherwise still room as he turned and headed for the door. He dared to turn back as he grabbed for the doorknob and saw you two sharing a look that he couldn't determine if it was one of contemplation or displeasure. He hurried out and the cafe door shut behind him.
"Happy?" [Wanderer] bitterly asked.
You paused for a moment… then grinned.
"Tsk, what are you laughing at, worm?"
"Nothing, nothing!" You shrugged. "I just thought that for a guy with a stick up his ass, you're cute when you're jealous."
That riled [Wanderer] up in an instant.
You do not know the full extent of his envy's filth.
"I am NOT—" He stopped, realizing how counterproductive it would be. "Whatever. I don't care."
"Uhuh?"
"Shut up and finish your damn chocolate!"
II. Anger.
Before you know it, it's April.
"Seriously, you three, I'm bored as fuck! Can't I just take a stroll outside?" You yelled, waving the heavy persona compendium in the air as your sisters ignored you.
It hasn't been long since you reincarnated, so your right to go outside isn't as liberal. Given the impending threat of an apocalypse, the Velvet Room attendants are especially overprotective.
"(Y/n), dear sibling, watch your mouth! You mustn't let Igor or Nameless hear you speak so vulgarly."
Taking a good look at your new "siblings", you've noticed how almost everyone was present. Margaret sat elegantly on the sofa while Theodore & Elizabeth were doing their best to calm you down. It's almost rare to have all three in one place. The three oldest were busy-bodies who had more eccentric matters they devoted their attention to. Including rapping and dancing, though neither performances are good for your senses.
"If boredom plagues you, then you should try teasing Theodore." Elizabeth yawned. "He's easy pickings."
"Sister!" Theodore pouted. "Shouldn't (Y/n) focus on studying how fusing works? It would be a better use of their time…"
"The day (Y/n)'s new wildcard learns the value of social links might just be the day miserly politicians become generous." Elizabeth shrugged.
You paled, tugging her sleeve. "Oh fuck… Am I screwed?"
She gave you a lopsided smile. "I may be your new sibling but that does not mean I am obliged to resolve your problems, (Y/n). Learn to solve this on your own."
Theodore coughed.
"Please, stop scaring them, sister Elizabeth. It's not their fault this new guest is a cruel arbiter. I fear there will not be a second of groundless joy in store for them…"
"You're not helping me relax either! Motherfucker. Can't you two speak normally?"
"Settle down, all of you."
The four of you stood straight as Igor tilted his chin up. Though you've gotten used to his bloodshot gaze, it had a way of prickling your skin this time around. With his signature smile, he closed his eyes and snapped his fingers.
"Our guest is about to enter."
"W-Wait, RIGHT NOW?!?"
Before you could react, the room transformed into what appeared to be a large elevator. The walls were barred and creaking noises began to subtly make their presence. A floating door materialized, and soon, opened.
Dark purple hair and eyes, short frame, soft face.
"…Hmm?"
You blinked.
"Wait, no way…"
You know him.
Of course, you know him.
"Everyone, meet [Wanderer]."
You decided that you two should reintroduce yourselves and forget that the past ever happened.
For now, you had been gifted with a vital role: being the protagonist's attendant.
According to your Igor, your role is to assist your guest in fusing personas. He had chosen you specifically in advance as you are his "anima/animus figure". Initially, that job was for Elizabeth. However, your beliefs, your intuition, your emotions— they're in perfect tune with [Wanderer]. Igor expects you to facilitate their spiritual and psychological growth and implore them to interact more with others.
Which, based on that alone, sounds like this puppet just hired an unpaid therapist.
"What do you want?"
"Well…"
Since you became [Wanderer]'s attendant, you've started to have thicker skin. He will always make his crankiness known each visit. You're slightly grateful for it, for how else would you know patience otherwise? Though his personality rubs you the wrong way, his strength does have merits you cannot ignore. Even Belladona, the Velvet Room's devout singer, had sung praises for his mettle. There was one line that struck you about her song, something about him being like a puppet with a beating heart unbeknownst to himself…
Which is why you thought you might as well try to see if you could convince him to take you out sometimes.
"What, like a date?" [Wanderer] scoffed then smirked, a light blush on his face. "Are you really that desperate?"
"No, eww—" You rolled your eyes. "I meant it literally. Igor and the others wouldn't let me go outside unless I'm with someone they trust."
He looked away and covered his mouth, his shoulders trembling slightly.
"Like a child?"
"Yeah, yeah, shut the fuck up." You deadpanned, your pride slightly chipped. "Like a child or whatever you want to see it, as long as it gets me out of here. I just want to see the world before it all…"
You paused.
Better not to bring it up. You're not sure if Igor told him yet.
[Wanderer] raised an eyebrow. "What's in it for me?"
You shrugged. "Is money not enough?"
He paused.
…
"You've got to be kidding me— Fine, what else do you want?"
His eyelids lowered, hissing slightly. "Evil expects evil from others, huh? I wasn't trying to think of anything more, but now that I think about it…"
"Oh, great."
"… I can take your request," he pointed at you. "But only if you join me in the library. Anywhere else, especially loud places like clubs, I'll send your ass back."
That's a no-brainer.
"Deal!"
Though you've missed the peculiar sight, [Wanderer] had a small smile on his face as you shook hands. The two of you had become nearly inseparable since then.
Worryingly, he's closer to you than other humans.
The only relationship he needed was with you.
And with what little time this world has left, you hope you could have a last cup of coffee with him…
I. Denial.
Your reality crumbled. What a START.
Your family, friends... all gone. No one was left. You convince yourself you "deserved" this punishment for smoking a life away with dreadful workloads, no matter how untrue it was. When the world burnt down, you were sent into a darkness you had not known before.
The person in charge of your reincarnation process told you that for the next few minutes, you and a selected companion will see your lives flash before your eyes in a void— and it will not necessarily be a comforting sight.
But you woke up relaxed. In an abyss filled with broken mirrors meant to depict your character to pieces, you donned a plain expression. There was not an inch of you that grieved for what was lost. Similarly, you had no care for how you were being transmigrated to another realm. Though you had grown accustomed to this isolation, humanity always struggled with silence. There was ringing on your fingers. When you unclasped your hands, you saw a pointed shard. Curiously, you clenched it. But no matter the tightness of your grip, no blood came out.
Your breath fogged up the glass. You wondered why that Memokeeper told you that you deserve to live on. You thought your life was rather unremarkable.
Makes sense. You thought to yourself. I'd rather pride myself on a boring life with integrity than an ambitious yet fraudulent one.
「Assignments. Commute. Study. Review. Assignments. Commute. Study. Review. Was that all your life was...? Then tell me, little (Y/n), why does the mirror in front of you appear distorted?」
And so, you gazed forward. Your reflection stood tall, larger than your life, and it beckoned you to come closer. This "(Y/n) (L/n)" had the opposite of a Cheshire grin- perhaps a caricature- perhaps an accurate depiction. Wearied of yourself and wearied of the sycophantic students around you. How unhappy are you to see yourself as someone like this? Are these the emotions you wish to be preserved? Is this the memory you want your world to be remembered by?
「These memories must be corrupted. Someone must be tampering with them. I do not think you lived a miserable life.」
I can't answer your questions either. But I think that reflection is who I am, because sometimes...
"I wish I had never been born at all."
Your lips were parted, but no sound came out. You resonated with those words, but they did not come from you. The voice was dark, hopeless, and alone.
When you were being sent off, you thought no one was around to greet you. There was another man. He had short hair and purple eyes- an incredibly rare sight in your world. This man seemed to be gazing at his reflection as well. You needn't know how he saw himself. The emptiness in his eyes did not differ from yours. He, too, was masking isolation as independence with an intense fragility. The dread he inflicted upon you was the closest you've ever gotten to facing your own perceived "weakness".
His memories were a mixbag. Some were filled with domestic bliss, but the anger in his heart triumphed more. He had friends but thought himself betrayed. His heart was constructed through a system of evasions, and he was a specialist in self-deception. This man knew little of emotions but had an abundance of it. It's no wonder he refused to sacrifice the artistry of his vengeance against humanity. You can sympathize with how he could not attach himself to those around him. He was burdened with malicious knowledge. Fakes. Lies. Insincerities. A class of his own.
However, he had a sin you cannot empathize with. A trait you can read that you're certain he had never noticed about himself.
He was a sickeningly beautiful man with a peculiar innocence.
He looked like a man who truly did not live in the real world.
This man did not feel real to you. He felt made-up. Fictional. His aura of flawlessness appalled you. Though you shared the same sentiments, you thought him dimensionless.
Yet this is supposedly your first meeting.
「Is it? Where have you seen him before? Can't you remember, dear (Y/n)?」
No. No, I can't.
「... What a shame. Worry no more, little (Y/n). Close your eyes. When you wake up, you will meet your new reality— new realm— new family.」
You nodded and agreed to a higher existence you did not believe in. Unlike others, you were a little bit more incapable of trusting a living soul. But there's no other choice.
Life is ordinarily far from anyone's control in the first place. Why bother fighting? If following can make her fuck off, it doesn't matter.
Nothing matters.
Wait…
Is that…
Scaramouche?
Before you closed your eyes and accepted your fate, you could've sworn...
He looked at you with a crooked grin.
「Thou art I... And I am thou...
Thou hast established a new bond...
Thou shalt be blessed when creating
Personas of the Universe Arcana..."」
"Hmm. Strange… Is that truly the order of the story?"
A woman stared at you.
Not (Y/n) (L/n).
YOU.
BEHIND.
THE.
SCREEN.
She smiled wryly.
Hate might empower you for a short while, but it comes at the cost of consuming you whole. Should a shard or any surface reflect [Wanderer]'s face, he would understand what he had become. However, it's too late. He had made his choice and stomped away any remorse he could have. When all is said and done, he alone will spread the ashes. He alone will stand. A blank slate.
[Wanderer] spent his life looking for scapegoats and ended up removing his responsibility.
Betrayals?
What a sad, sad puppet.
What a poor excuse to justify an entire apocalypse.
A poor excuse of a man.
"THE ARCANA IS THE MEANS BY WHICH ALL IS REVEALED." She muttered softly. "And you have been reading your story in REVERSE. Perhaps this is the only way this world can attain SALVATION. The chronological order is not a slice of life. You did not have a disagreement and decided to start your relationship over again. Life is far more WICKED."
"Read it again, but from DENIAL to ACCEPTANCE. The proper way to GRIEVE DEATH."
With great reluctance, she took the five cards laid on the table and placed them in an upright position.
"Let's see if you'd rather ACCEPT the truth or live in DENIAL."

It's being a long time without an anime list, this will be about mystery and paranormal not so well-known animes.
1.- Dead Mount Dead Play.
It's an isekai (surprise). The main character of a fantasy world reincarnates in another fantasy world, but it turns out there are other people from the first fantasy world. I liked it, ngl.
2.- Undead Girl Murder Farce.
It's a fantasy anime about japanese monsters and spirits. There is an inmortal girl who can't die that has been beheaded, but she's so smart her head can speak and can solve mysteries. I LOVED this anime.
3.- Dark Gathering.
A little girl had a car crash where her father dies and her mother has been kidnapped by a powerful spirit. She's gathering spirits to fight the one who kidnapped her mother. I liked that they loved to fear something. There will be another season, we have to wait.
4.- Mieruko-chan.
This will always be one of my favourite animes. A girl that can see the worst spirits and has to pretend that she can't see them. This is (for me) hilarious, she can see a nightmare near a coin and has to pretend that she didn't see anything, she has to act normal.

I love how much Fionna and Cake keeps constantly dunking on isekai fantasies
It's so funny to think there was this massive phase of anime for a while that was just obsessed with the concept of going into fantasy worlds like the ones from books, shows, and games we used to have as kids, and once we got there we would trade our depressing boring lives for super cool ones and be happier than ever...
And then there's this show just being all "Nah, being "isekaied" would actually really freaking suck, big time."
Like, everything that we think would be cool and fun to do, looting magic items, rescuing citizens, battling monsters and solving problems with your fists, traveling to new worlds, meeting new people, falling in love with super hot individuals, all of it keeps getting the rug pulled from under it and showing how messed up these situations could actually be.
- The people you save might actually be enemies trying to lure you into a trap
- The hot people you fall for might actually be crazy weirdos secretly pushing their problems on innocents
- The items you collect might actually bring a lot of misery to those that use it
- The monsters you fight could actually just be misunderstood innocents
- The worlds you go to might all be miserable dystopias
- All the cool fun characters you used to love from the media you consumed as a kid might all be kinda messed up in the head when you actually talk to them
And so on...
I love how they take this concept of "If only I had been born in this life, or in this place, or been raised with these people, I would be much happier than I am with my current life!" and show that in reality, struggles follow you wherever you go, no matter what life you have.
It's so nice that we have Adventure Time to show the best of a fantasy/adventure life and have Fionna and Cake showing the worst (with both having their moments of exception, of course, but still), I like how this isn't just "More Adventure Time" and is more like some sort of "Adventure Time deconstruction" showing the real challenges the viewers could possibly face if they were to arrive there themselves.
It's very messed up, but it's just so freaking interesting. 🥰

Villainess anime reviews
went on a bit of a binge, so here's a compilation:
I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss
rating: lots of fun
one of the funnier entries on this list in my opinion, i actually laughed out loud multiple times
the protagonist is a capable and determined lady, as well as slightly unhinged which i always enjoy, i love weird women
breakneck pace, speedrunning like 3 games in the 12 episode, so it is the opposite of boring
this anime has everything: ducks, crows in bowties, crossdressing, ducks, video game brain rot, and ducks
Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord
rating: at east somewhat interesting (still ongoing, episodes watched: 5)
aside from the gimmick a pretty standard isekai with pretty eh animation
a lot of this show is kinda boring, but there are still interesting and enjoyable moments
the protagonist is charming and probably the strongest part
i will probably be continuing to see what happens next so depending on that my opinion may change
The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior
rating: charming
one of the series from this list that i enjoyed most, even if the story and the world are a bit simple, the characters and their struggles still work and aren't too difficult to get invested in
a bit more drama in this one, with tragic flashbacks (or whatever they're called if its abt an alternate plotline) that i found maybe a little too frequent
here the protagonist is also capable, driven, and quite traumatized, i wanna hold her in my hands like a baby bird
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!
rating: cute!
the bisexual harem is a breath of fresh air
bakarina's dumbassery is a great source of comedy, she's also pretty lovable so the harem around her is believable. and i love a gal with a hobby
I'm in Love with the Villainess
rating: eh
kinda disappointed with this one, i was hoping for some fun gl story, but it could barely watch the first episode and had to force myself to try a few more in hopes it got better (it didnt)
the romance part felt more like harassment in those first episodes, and sure, ive read that it progresses further, but the protagonist didnt really endear herself to me with that
given the comedy tag on mal there were probably some jokes in it, i just couldn't identify many good ones
7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!
rating: hell yeah! (still ongoing, episodes watched: 6)
the best one of all shows listed and the only one that's not an isekai
much more grounded, with good worldbuilding and another capable lady as the protagonist, but this one even more so, as well as much more mature
very pretty, even if i find some character designs questionable :v
definitely got me hooked and i will be watching more
#kostek original#kostek reviews#i appreciate this genre#if theres any more that i missed pls lemme know bc ive been basing my watching list on the word villainess in the title#villainess isekai#villainess anime#7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!#I'm in Love with the Villainess#My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!#The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior#Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord#I'm the Villainess#So I'm Taming the Final Boss

Me to fellow anime watchers when the slavery thing started becoming grossly common
"ok but why write a story where slavery is 'justified', why would the author choose to do that???"
having slavery in an isekai is the ultimate trap. I don't think that it's necessarily wrong to include slavery in your average isekai or isekai-adjacent fantasy story--it is a real-world social institution after all--but so many amateur writers include it in their fantasy worlds because it makes things Gritty and Real. none of these authors ever try to understand how slavery would work because none of them ever think about the material reality of the societies they create beyond There's Nobles And Shit
which is funny because when you're including slavery in your isekai you have to put in extra effort to engage with it because the main character is from a culture that (allegedly) does not have slavery and generally views slavery as abhorrent. when you're writing a regular fantasy, even one of those "i can't believe it's not isekai" fantasies, you have at least some plausible deniability since that's just how things were in the medieval times. but when you have an enlightened modern person encounter fantasy slavery they have to engage with it in some way, and none of them are particularly good options.
the option most isekai take is that they try their hardest to make it so the main character doesn't engage with it at all. the main character just goes "oh, slavery is bad. but that's just their culture and it's not my business to change society because i have to kill the demon king or have a slow life or ????" which just makes you go ok why bother trying to save this society that has a widespread unchallenged belief that it's ok to own people as objects? oh, the demons are going to enslave everyone and it's bad when they do it? wow
or if the author believes that slavery is bad, then the main character at worst buys a slave and promises to treat them real niceys. which is still not good because it's like ok the culture still thinks slavery is awesome. or it could get even more evil like in "from overshadowed to overpowered" where it's baked into the metaphysics that owning a person as property is an established magic by divine blessing. but it's fine because ephthal treats his demon slave real niceys! and she stays with him after he frees her! i read one story that was like it's fine all of the slave owners have to treat their slaves well as part of the magic slave contract like holy shit has the author thought about what this means even ONCE?? or you get the incredibly rare ones where the mc tries to free all the slaves which is entertaining but rarely something that carries the story.
and then you have the obvious worst option where the main character just straight up says slavery is good, like in isekai meikyuu de harem wo. come on dude

Hi! Can I request some Genderbend Sleeping Beauty x Isekai Reader? (Please no princess reader I've seem them everywhere on qoutev)
Yandere Genderbend Sleeping Beauty x Iseakai'd Reader
Tending to a human man the moment you’d been dropped into this alternate world was not the ideal position. Originally being instated in the castle as a charity-case servant you hadn’t made any connection to the fairy tale. Not until the head butler brought you to a familiar trio of faeries; dressed in blue, green, and red.
“My my their magical signature is quite–”
“Bizarre?”
“Unique?”
“--I was going to say, perfect for the worst-case scenario.”
Supposedly because of your outlier existence, the faeries had designated you to be their human help. Should the prince–Briar Rue fall into the curse of the spindling wheel he’d need constant care. It was a contingency plan, a tragic plan to set everyone in the kingdom to rest until the princess would return to save him with her kiss. Unlike the kingdom, the prince’s curse was cruel: continuing to let his bodily functions continue as he slept away.
“It’s just in case.”
“Yes, not likely at all.”
“--All because it just doesn’t work on you.”
“Mariwether!” “Mariwether!”
“Sorry, forget that I said that please!”
That was why in the span of a week you were meeting and serving the cursed prince that had spent the entirety of his life in a forest. A position that would have many of the staff sneering at you as waited on the prince’s hand and foot.
“All of this is so overwhelming (Y/n)...I don’t want to marry a girl I haven’t met. Even when I’m so madly in love with another.”
The prince was doing an iconic Disney Princess mope, leaning against the barred windows of his room in the castle. You continued to fold away his forest attire, smiling to yourself as you replayed the animated version of the fairytale.
“Well I have a feeling you’ll meet her sooner than you may think.”
He turned his sorrowful gaze to you, tilting his head at your ominous smile. He questioned you no further, opting to conversate with you about the ‘modern’ nuances of popular society. Which you were just as uninformed about as him. Needless to say, the both of you were on something of a learning curve, relying on the staff and fairies to fill the both of you in.
Two days.
Two days ago he was learning alongside you how to waltz. The day you were dismissed it was in an explosion of emotion. A reaction of his overwhelmed self in this stressful environment; had you sent away and retiring early. Living in such a hierarchy was new to you and your knowledge of the future meant nothing at the intensity of his order. That being said you didn’t blame yourself when the fairies arrived at you, heads hanging low with tears in their eyes.
____________________________________________________________
As agreed upon you had begun your caretaking duties of the prince. Waking every morning to wash, dress, change his magic feeding trey, and placing the medieval equivalent of a diaper as the day forged on. Whether you are familiar with the task of caring for someone so intensely it soon becomes a habit for you. Becoming a part of a mundane routine for yourself. Care for the prince, have breakfast, read some outdated literature, and repeat. After the first couple of days, you got quite used to the hollow echoing chamber of an otherwise empty castle. Minding the unconscious staff and royal families; it was bliss.
While you certainly had the time to teach yourself the rules and etiquette of the time, this couldn’t have been the healthiest way to go about it. Without the commentary or viable presence of others, you had begun to speak out loud. Talking to sleeping bodies and non-sentient objects had become you’re normal for the following month. A commonality of that time was being freaked out when any of the fairies decided to make themselves young; they were considerate usually catching your attention in a flurry of sparkles. A fair warning, for whenever they came to grieve.
Towards the end of the month, their visits had a different tune; singing their praises of the princess who was fighting the malignant Sorcerer king. As evident by the distant roars and green swirling sky, this would be over soon.
“I-I am here to kiss the prince!”
She came to the castle frazzled, wounded, and on shaky legs. You adamantly refused, practically fighting her to eat and let you treat her wounds. In fact, it was similar to how you had been treating the prince for the past couple of months. Shouldering most of her weight as you bathed and dressed her; a process that only seemed to embarrass you. You figured as a princess this might’ve not been so out of the ordinary making it easier for you to send her to sleep. After all that you scrambled to do the same to Briar, and with a sense of finality you carried out your routine.
Cheering to the sleeping Briar, “What do you think of that Sleeping Beau? Your beauty is here and we’ll both be free!”
Waking the next day you finally cooked for someone else, watching as the princess scarfed down her meal only to shake at the door of Briar’s tower. Having full intentions to give them their space, you were shocked by the forceful grip on your apron.
“D-do you think it’ll work?”
“Of course, I do, your grace! I’m sure you will recognize that he’s someone you’ll enjoy kissing awake. Now if–”
“You have to come with me!”
“W-what!? H-hey!”
Without heeding your struggle, she curled her arm around your torso easily hoisting you up along with her as she speedily ascended the tower to the sleeping Briar Rue. It was oddly easy for her to bring you to the room the prince was sleeping in. Leaving you in shock as she began to fiddle with her cape and kilted armor.
“M-maybe i-if I take M-mom’s idea I’ll b-be m-more confident to kiss him!”
“Ah what was your mother’s idea?”
“....”
She went silent at your question; returning your curiosity with a blank stare before shaking her head. Scratching at the back of her head she mumbled to herself before anxiously gripping the handle.
“I–i’ll just wait until h-he’s awake then.”
“W-what?”
“A-anyway do you really think I can do this?”
“O-of course.”
Her nervous demeanor was grating on your nerves, probably because you were more than minutes away from seeing this whole debacle being solved. After minutes of deliberation the princess opened the doubled doors revealing the hauntingly beautiful image of the sleeping beau. She made an audible gasp at the sight.
Shining in the angled light of the setting sun, the stained glass windows of his temporary chamber flashed the mosaic of colors across the sleeping prince. Blonde flowy hair splayed out around his crowned head. His face was still, cheeks oddly rosy and lips perfectly puckered with their own touch of red. He looked ethereal and you couldn’t help but internally pat yourself on the back. Whether or not you were familiar with makeup in the modern world, this world wasn’t particularly fond of the attractiveness of healthy color. But judging by her continued awe the smashed berries you got were a good idea.
“Whoa he’s the fellow from the forest…” She marveled at him tentatively rubbing at his folded hands. She bent forward slowly, lips slowly inching forward before she abruptly pulled away turning from the one act that would end this all. Her worried eyes darted around before falling on you widening with an idea.
“H-h-how about we do this together?”
“Excuse me, what?!”
“Like we both kiss him at the same time s-so that I-I won’t be l-lonely when I do this!”
“What! Why do you want me–a servant of all things to kiss the prince with you?”
It was a viable question; unless she felt threatened by you. But knowing the princess it would be for something less daunting—
“B-b-because! This is my first time k-kissing a prince!”
You shook your head in disbelief but relented when she puckered her bottom lip at you; making the equivalent of prayer hands with her face. You entered the chamber gazing at the both of them before walking around the bed to his lower right side.
“How about this Princess, I’ll kiss his hand and you will kiss his lips though I’m certain it is absolutely unnecessary.”
“Alright! W-we er I can do this.”
With newfound confidence, she positioned herself near his face on the left side of the bed. She looked back at you while making sure you were also in position. To which you nodded urging her to go on.
You originally weren’t going to follow through, faking your involvement but even as she went in for the kiss you still found her gaze flashing toward you. So you followed through lightly pecking the back of his hand, standing up you got to catch a glimpse of the magical moment. Pulling away from the waking prince she nervously peeked with one eye as Briar blinked his own eyes.
“Y-you? From the forest and…”
He looked to the right, blue eyes landing on you or they would have been if the three fairies hadn’t taken your place near the bed.
“Oh, Rue!”
“You’re awake!”
“Yes but–”
“We must awaken the whole kingdom! We must celebrate!”
Any concerns the awoken prince would have had were brought to a hush under the cheers of the fairies and the castle’s jovial celebration. Their prince, to the kingdom’s knowledge, had survived the curse and was reunited with his love: Princess Phyllis of the neighboring kingdom.
______________________________________________________________
“Are you sure you don’t want to stay for the wedding?”
“No no I think I’m ready for…the quiet once again.”
“Surely Rue would be happy to see you on his big day!”
“Yes! Yes! I can conjure up something for you! In blue of course.”
“Yuck, that’d be a crime! Obviously in red!”
“Now here you go again–!” “Why I oughta–”
You stepped away from the bickering faeries, continuing to hug the fae in green.
“Thanks again for letting me have that cottage, Floran. I really appreciate it.”
He shifted his glasses, magicking a basket full of food into your hands after you hurriedly adjusted your pack’s strap.
“Deary it’s of no trouble, after all. We have no reason to use such a lovely space. And I’m sure it’ll offer you the quiet you’ve grown so used to.”
He smiled wiping away imaginary dust on your shoulder as he held your upper arm.
“Just be weary, you know we won’t stay away forever now. We’ll be sure to visit.”
“And when you do I’ll be glad to welcome you.”
You both shared a laugh as you had begun to walk to the mule you were discreetly gifted by the royal family. It was decided that you’d be released from your duties both at your own request and at the faeries' discretion. With vague compliments, the royal family could quietly thank you for your mysterious role in ‘solving’ their Prince’s curse. Phyllis was adamant, as she could be, about thanking you but the fairies were stern about keeping quiet. During this time you found no time to speak or so much as look at Briar without it being from the perspective of a bystander by a passing celebrity. You didn’t mind. And it most certainly didn’t stop you from letting the mule lead you to the cottage Briar Rue had hidden in before, more than willing to enjoy the silence and relaxation of the cottage life.
_________________________________________________________
Briar fought the urge to yell as Phyllis went into another tirade about her adventure. Sat near the window of the seamstress’ tower as she was fitted for her wedding gown. An event she and his parents eagerly insisted he attended. It was a brazen attempt to make them get along despite the obvious lack of interest on his side of things.
“B-briar? Er-Rue? D-did y-you hear the l-last thing I said? A-about the d-dragon and the w-wounds I got? I-it’s kind of crazy y-you know b-because when I finally got to the c-castle–”
How did this wake him up?!
It couldn’t have. He knows it. The nights he’s spent hearing warbled words and grunts didn’t make his heart pound for her. Or the warm touches along his chest and arms, they were evidence of someone else. But no matter how much he wracked his brain the thought of who remained a mystery.
Faun assured him it was a small side effect, that the cloudiness of waking up was sure to hover over his consciousness for the next week. That was why he got tired every time he tried to recall the time before his cursed sleep.
“B-briar? A-are–d-do you h-have any questions a-about that day?”
“No Phyllis I’m just trying to remember…”
“Oh okay. S-so, as I was saying (Y/n), was there and th-”
That’s what it was! That’s who it was!
The piece he’s been missing: the memories of the week before. His heart, straying from his so-called love for the mysterious woman in the forest to the clumsy handmaid. He remembered cursing himself and then cursing at (Y/n), sending them away while ignoring the pain in his chest. What could it be, to so quickly change the object of his affection? Was it a problem that when he thought of love all he could see was their face? And even if he was truly devoting his love to (Y/n) instead of the mystery maiden, who turned out to be Phyllis the princess, then what could he do? As a prince himself, he would have no choice but to abandon you in worry that his royal family would reject you for the nobility’s standards; if not for their own biases. It was an endless cycle of heartbreak that had no end.
When the dark sorcerer’s curse came about, he was entirely lucid. Only refusing to follow the green foreboding glow to stew in his own grief. Audibly sighing at the entrancing orb, he only raised his head when the orb transformed into a figure.
“Come child, it is your time.”
“How can it be my time when all is so helpless.”
He tucked his head into his folded arms, hiding his sniffles and bubbling tears as they fell onto the table below. Missing the smile that spread over the sorcerer’s face as he feigned a giddy pity as he patted the prince’s back.
“There there, the faeries spoke of a true love’s kiss. Now I’m sure that you’ve found someone you love?”
The question was rhetoric, the sorcerer was well aware of his rendezvous with the princess in the woods. The sorcerer was certain of this, and it brought a greater smile to his face that he had already acted on this.
“Y-yes…but–well–I’m not sure if it's true love! Since it’s changed so much…”
Feigned sympathetic pats on Briar’s back, allowed the fireplace to morph. Lined in green flames a portal opened opening to the tallest tower within the castle where a new glowing orb waited patiently.
“Now young Briar, the only way to know would be the ultimate test would it not?”
He sniffled, “What do you mean?”
“What better test for you’re love than sleep that can only be broken by true love? Do you not want a method that is tried and true?”
“Tried and True?”
“Yes.”
Giving into the trance the prince rose from his seat, guided by the hand of the one who cursed him. Settled behind his back as he nudged him into the portal and in the direction of the green light. Aware of his curse he followed dutifully, wiping his tears and rubbing his dribbling nose. He came to the orb that materialized into a glowing spinning wheel, needle piked and practically begging for his puncture. Briar reached forward stopping just a hair’s length away to turn to the sorcerer who was growing agitated. Face full of worry and trepidation he pleaded with the horned man.
“H-how will I know that the one who wakes me is the right one? What should happen if the one who stands above me when I wake is the one? There are those who might trick me or–” “Fine then.”
The sorcerer’s voice boomed as he stepped heavily towards him, chest to Briar’s face he held a green flame in his hand. Blue eyes snapped to the flame registering the sound of a snap before the sorcerer pulled away.
“I’ll let you hear everything.”
He opened his mouth to question the action, stopping to let out a scream as his ears burned. He stumbled to the side, nearly falling to the ground as he clutched at his ears groaning from the pain. The sorcerer groaned pulling a hand from the side of Briar’s face in the direction of the wheel. Pinpricking his finger, releasing the hand as the prince retracted his hand inspecting the wound. Eyelids drooping and knees buckling before sending Prince Briar Rue into the beginning of his eternal slumber.
“There dearest Rue, you can hear everything. Even the cries and pleas of all those who come to mourn you by your bedside! I applaud you for your creativity, suffering for eternity will surely bring you an even crueler existence than I would have given! Hahaha.”
He was right. It was cruel to remember having doubted (Y/n) as they cared for him. It was they who had read to him and spoken to him while he was trapped in an uneasy slumber for the entirety of thirty days and thirty nights. Now he was meant to marry the mere attraction of his past, it was truly a nightmare. The only solace he could find was in their servitude. If he couldn’t have them in the way of a lover he’d have them in the way of a king. It sounded cruel but surely that was just because the thought was in his head.
It would all make sense the night before the wedding when he’d call them after the dreaded bachelor party. He’d confess his love within the solace of the private garden he’d been gifted, taking them under the moonlight and the stars as his witness. Oh, how he’d dread the morning! When he would have to repeat such false vows as he betrayed them one time last. But that would be the end of it, the rest of himself would be dedicated to (Y/n) and (Y/n) only.
Or that would be if that wasn’t who he thought it was in the window—
“H-hey! T-that looks like (Y/n) r-riding on that donkey! Doesn’t it Briar?”
Rendered speechless at the sight of your riding form disappearing into the bustling capital city. He could only stifle a fit of frustration as he recognized the familiar trio of red, blue, and green. Post haste he attempted to leave the room stopped by the hand, and following consequences written all over Phyllis’ face. He’d wait for now but when he was done…they’d surely be hearing from the angered and fully awoken prince.

It is said that love brings the best out of people What if it does the opposite? What happens when two lovers bring the worst out of each other? When their most selfish and disgusting desires come to light?
This is the story of a man and a woman that should’ve never met
Red sky, no stars, crimson wet soil, no grass. I walked, walked and walked, bare feet stained with the dark fluid that came out from the ground every time I took a step. I was completely naked, limbs hurting from the cold and fatigue, hollow eyes always looking ahead, legs that couldn’t stop, as my will was no more.
This is a warning from the Gods above, the appetizer of what my after death is going to be if I continue to stay by his side, such is the conclusion I came to.
Every night I have this dream and every morning I wake up with a bone chilling sense of dread.
But saying that he is the only reason behind this is an absolute naivety, for I am also a sinner.
Pain, it spread from the tip of my fingers, slow and cold.
I opened my eyes wide and with a moan of pain I looked at my hands, it was snow, the little particles of ice were slowly freezing my skin, the violet color of the phalanxes the proof.
My clothes were in complete contrast to the environment that was around me, a light sundress was covering my aching body, sandals at my feet, a straw hat a few meters from me, strange, considering the unnatural stillness of the air.
How did I get here? What was I even doing?
Apparently I woke up in a pine forest, no village, human or animal in sight, in the snow there weren't any signs of footprints, not even mine, it looked like I fell from the sky.
The pain was unbearable and apparently at that moment I couldnt recall the events that led me in that place, nor I had any memories of my past; but giving up wasn’t an option, so with extreme fatigue I stood up and started to walk in a random direction.
The cold pierced my bare skin, the soles of my feet started to sore and bleed from the direct contact with the snow, my lips gained a violet hue, but still, I didn’t want to stop.
As I went forward, the surroundings didn’t change one bit, it was like I wasn’t even moving.
Is it some kind of punishment? What did I even do to deserve this?
At some point one leg didn’t answer my will to go forward anymore, my sight also started to blur, probably my brain was getting frozen too.
After a couple more steps everything turned black.
The young woman fell lifeless on the carpet of snow. Maybe because she didn’t give up, or maybe for sheer luck, a few moments later a group of masked soldiers on their way for a mission saw her body in the distance. Alarmed, they got closer, one of them checked her breath, she still had a pulse, weak, but present nonetheless. He took her gently in his arms, covered her with a greatcoat and laid her in the seats of the coach. The soldiers looked at her curiously, everything about her was strange, she gave off an odd vibe, like she wasn’t even from that world. They also noticed the fact that her body was completely abandoned, without footprints around her, considering how she was dressed and the fact that she was also alive and that it wasn’t snowing, it was impossible that she was laying there for so much time that the traces were covered by a snowfall.
The men looked at each other and came to the same conclusion.
“Let’s bring her to our Lord harbinger”
The regular ticking of a pendulum clock, the soft creaking of fire, a reassuring and enveloping warmth, these were the things that I heard first as I slowly woke up from a dreamless and deep slumber. My body was covered with a heavy and soft duvet, only my head uncovered, my limbs weren’t hurting anymore.
I got into a sitting position, the blanket fell to my waist, I was wearing a plain nightgown with a very thick fabric, I bared my legs and I noticed that my feet were completely bandaged.
I got lucky I guess
The precariousness of my situation made me anxious, countless questions and doubts started to swarm in my mind.
Where am I?
Am I in danger?
I’m so scared
I just want to sleep and go back to where I was
But where was I before waking up in the snow?
Why did this happen to me?
Who even am I?
I took a deep breath and I closed my eyes to clear my mind. When I gained control of my thoughts again I started to analyze the situation: for some reason I had no memories of my life, giving the circumstance I woke up in, I probably didn’t come to that forest willingly, I had no idea of where I was and there was literally nothing that gave me even a faint sense of familiarity.
The room I was staying in was very spacious, it was square shaped, everything, from the walls to the furniture, was in shades of white and light blue.
On my left there was a giant English style window, through the glass was reflected a raging snowstorm, other than that I could only see a never ending plain of immaculate white, beautiful and alienating at the same time.
I stood up, the bandages on my feet slightly protecting them from the cold of the marble floor, I cautiously walked towards the fireplace, the only source of warmth of the room, I crouched down by keeping a safe distance, the soft yellow and orange hues painted my face. When the heat imbued my body, I stood up to search the room. Parallel to the window there was a large fir door, on its right a full body mirror that reflected the sight of the snowstorm. I went for the door first, I lowered the handle and tried to pry the door open, but it didn’t move an inch, so I walked to the mirror and stood straight to look at my reflection. The woman in front of me was both familiar and foreign at the same time.
I’m very pretty I have to say, a bit shabby, but I quite literally escaped death, so that’s reasonable I guess
Then I heard a light echo of footsteps, someone was walking in my direction.
Anxiety and panic rose once again, a piercing sense of chill went up to my brain passing through my spine.
My body was completely frozen on the spot, I looked like a lamb patiently waiting for the inevitable doom. The steps got closer and closer, until they stopped at once. I could feel the loom of danger even through the closed door.
The squeaking sound of keys forewent the slow opening of the light colored door.
The wolf deprived the lamb of any chance to escape
A tall man entered the room, and as soon as his foot landed on the floor, the temperature seemed to drop by a few degrees.
That was our first encounter, the image of his dreadful figure shook me to my deepest core; -even if it happened in the distant past, I still remember it like it happened yesterday. My reaction was normal though, even with my current understanding of the man I wouldn’t say that I was silly, at the time he was no different than a blood driven monster, blindly following his every whim, everything and everybody else just props to his play-
He was wearing a strange shaped mask that covered the upper half of his face, it almost looked like a beak; even if his eyes were covered, I could feel him gazing intently at every inch of my body.
-I wonder what he was thinking at the time, seeing such a proud looking lady, terrified by his dreadful appearance, but looking at him straight in the eyes nonetheless-
He opened his mouth, a string of incomprehensible words reached my ears.
What the hell is he saying, I can’t understand a word of this language, I don’t even think I ever heard that before
I frowned in confusion and as soon as he saw my dumbfounded expression he halted his speech. His lips suddenly curved into a devious smile and he said something with a satisfied tone.
Scared by his ominous stare, I took a few steps back.
After thinking for some seconds, he took out a small object from his pants pocket, it was a metal object, shaped like a eucalyptus leaf.
He held his hand to me, the strange object in his palm.
I was still wary of him, but both for curiosity and lack of other options (more the second) I cautiously got closer.
In his eyes I’m sure I looked ridiculous, I was completely defenseless, but I kept up a fierce and intimidating look, as if I could really scare him or react in a possible dire situation. -How amusing-
Seeing that I trusted him enough to get a little bit closer, he held out his fingers even more and out of nowhere the object began to emit a light green light, it also started to float. Is it magic that I’m seeing?
It became smaller and smaller until it was no bigger than a breadcrumb; then it moved so fast that my eyes couldn’t even perceive the movement and entered one of my ears, the tickle gave me goosebumps.
“Don’t worry it’s not harmful”
And right after he said that a head splitting headache suddenly blackened my vision.
“Not harmful?!” I said with clenched teeth and a reprimanding voice.
“It seems to work” He stated proudly.
After a few seconds the pain subsided and I looked at him with a hateful glare.
“I understand what you are saying now, and apparently I can talk your language too. What is this?”
He grinned and gave a satisfied scoff.
“It’s one of my inventions of course, it injects the information I put inside directly into your brain, quite interesting isn’t it? The headache is just a little side effect”
I wouldn’t call it “little” but nevermind, at least I can talk to him
“What is this place?” I asked and turned to the window again, the snowstorm was still raging, white snowflakes were hitting the glass, the contrast with the warm temperature of the room let them melt, but the iciness of the air outside prevailed, so the droplets of water froze once again.
“This is the country of everwinter, Snezhnaya”
I’ve never heard of this place, where the fuck did I end up?
Uneasiness enveloped my heart like thorns.
“But it's useless information for you, am I right?
Without me noticing, he got closer and with his towering height he looked down on me.
I felt so small, both physically and mentally.
“You are not from this world”
I widened my eyes, but I still kept my mouth shut. I wasn’t surprised, deep in my heart I already knew it, call it gut feeling.
“You are not the first one to come to Teyvat, we call them descenders, but usually they are powerful beings, capable of changing the fate of this world. That’s not your case though, I checked your body and you have the anatomy of a common mortal with not an ounce of strange otherworldly power”
He did what?!
“I wonder what was the trigger that made you come here”
He rubbed his chin with one hand, he inclined his head and some peculiar pendant earring popped up from his light blue wavy hair. It looked like a test tube, a fluorescent liquid rattled inside.
The man was probably a scientist of some kind.
As soon as I had this realization, countless memories flashed in my mind, causing my head to spin.
Images of me in university attending lectures, me in a white lab coat preparing histological slides, me analyzing microorganisms with a microscope, me doing a presentation in a conference.
I seem to have gotten part of my memories back
Overwhelmed by the sudden surge of memories I put my hands on my hair and crouched a little.
That behavior also surprised the apparently all knowing scientist, as he knitted his eyebrows.
“What’s going on young lady?”
Still shaken, I gasped.
Can I trust him? There is something deeply wrong about him, even with his eyes covered I can feel the glare of blind curiosity towards the unknown, as a scientist myself I understand what it means to have something you have never seen to study.
So I put all my fate to his hunger for discovery .
“I lack a great part of my memories”
He looked at me a bit dumbfounded and crossed his arms.
“Right now I got some of them back”
I stood up and looked straight to where I thought his eyes were.
“What do you want to do with me?”
A snort escaped his lips, then a subdued laughter, and in the end he started to laugh uncontrollably, he looked like a complete psycho.
I’m done
As if a switch had been flipped, he stopped at once, he put his hand close to my ear and with a finger he curled a lock of hair.
“Tell me, do you remember your name?”
“I do not” I said sternly.
He hummed in thought, let go of my hair and stepped back.
“I will help you with your memories, for now, you don’t have to worry about anything else”
He turned and walked towards the door.
“Wait”
He stopped and turned slightly.
“What is your name?”
“Just call me Doctor”
He went out and closed the door without turning back.
Really, what did I do wrong to end up here?

Sell me on love with the villainess if you like it so much
What starts as a silly romantic comedy about a girl trying to romance her favorite side-character from an otome game gives way to one of the most beautifully written romances I've read in my entire life, about two people learning to find worth within themselves through each other and fighting the world to love one another.
It's a story, fundamentally, about healing from the damage the world does to you through love - for one is healing from the trauma of being abandoned and never getting to say goodbye to someone you love, for the other from bigotry. It's about finding oneself in another and building something greater than the sum of its parts. Once it stops being a horny comedy it just hits you back to back with some of the most heartwrenching romantic narratives I've read without going full into tragedy territory.
It also helps that Rei and Claire are some of my favorite romantic leads ever, even if it takes a good chunk of the story for their romance to really kick off for good. The manga does a better job of giving them some more romantic development before they get together for good at the end of the second novel, but either way, I'm just such a sucker for undying devotion like that. Rei's early characterization of just being surrendered to ensuring her beloved is happy, even if she is not, just hits such a strong chord with me personally.
The manga does a good job of showing the growth of their relationship a little bit less one-sidedly, compared to the light novel. There's some wonderful moments that are added or mixed in just through aonoshimo's wonderful art excellent facial expressions communicating a lot of internality for both characters.
Definitely read the manga, but also check out the light novels - the first two are fantastic, third is my favorite, four is kind of mediocre but still fun, five is the author choosing to take a silly isekai premise and see how far she can run with it, such as "let's make it so it's not an isekai anymore".
The anime, so far, is really surpassing my expectations, especially with its visual direction. I fully expected it to be kind of a throwaway project, but they're really putting everything into it! They even condensed the worst parts of the story into just one episode this week.
Oh also the story also constantly grapples with the inherent maliciousness of capitalism and provides some pretty scathing commentary on being gay and trans in japan - nothing new, but it's refreshing to see something this mainstream get so overtly into the topic. Next week's episode, if they don't coward out of it, should be the one where they have one of the most iconic conversations of the story regarding the latter.
I hope this rambling mess of an answer is what you wanted, anon.

i think its time for me to come back to my origins:
shitty spiderbit villain isekai au
Cw suicide idealization? Kinda? Nothing too realistic or explicit but there is a little bit
First, there's Cellbit, the 'villain'
-Was tricked by Mike into watching shitty fantasy harem anime #1413 (Mike doesn't like this type of anime, but he does like to see Cellbit suffering)
-And suffer he did, he was almost pulling his hair out when the first episode ended, and really did it when the opening spoiled the little mystery there was in the show
-He went to sleep balding mad and woke up in the body of 5 years old Farael, the prince of Embersland Kingdom, brother of Bagriela whom he is fighting for the crown
-There's also this voice in his head telling him that he needs to follow the plot and shit and he's just like- what the fuck do you even mean by this, I wanna out, get me the fuck outta here
-'Follow the plot and it may be considered to send you back', it says, and Cellbit obviously argues with it because 'Don't fuck with me like that, get me out of here right now' and 'No sorry can't do', 'What I have to do to go back? Send me back right now' and it's this back and forth until the system is tired enough to just say 'Die by the hero's blade and we'll send you back' and Cellbit's like 'Ok fine'
-It's not really fine because it will take at least two decades before he will be able to be killed by the hero, but it's something more concrete than a simple possibility so he will take it
-So he starts preparing to be a villain, quite successfully if you may allow him. And the worst part is that he really ends up as a 'good' villain, winning the crown from Bagi, organizing an army, making evil plans full of twists and turns, neglecting the people, all in all he is a decent villain for a bellow average harem anime
-(Btw, there are some reason why a 'normal' person from the real world ends up being so good at being evil, that includes: he's already something of a freak, he thinks this is just a shitty harem anime, he never had any contact with other people that aren't nobility or servants except for a single instance. He really wants to go back, he thinks nothing in this world matters, and it's part of his bucket list so...)
And then there's Roier, the 'hero'
-He's just a peasant boy living in a frontier town, abandoned by his father, mother died during childbirth, raised by his old abuelo
-He does odd jobs around town and helps in the adventurers guild, going in a small quest here and there, nothing too big despite him being quite good with a sword
-That is, until Bagis busts into the guild asking for help to defeat her brother before he does even worse than he already did, of course for a handsome reward
-But everyone there knows how much of a tyrant King Farael is, and how they'll end up with their salted heads hung in the public square if they do anything against him so no one accepts it
-Roier comes in late, and Bagi begs for him to help her... he really doesn't want to, but money's tight and he really needs it because abuelo has been getting worse recently and there's not a lot else he can do (Saving the kingdom is just a bonus for him)
-And so they go out on this quest, they recruit some other people during the way (In the original anime they're all woman and part of his 'harem') and plan how to end King Farael's reign of terror once and for all
-Syke! Cellbit kidnaps Roier when they're near the capital and brings him to a 'dinner' to monologue to him about his evil plans (It's to motivate Roier to really kill him, he can't be imprisoned or exiled, he has to be killed)
-Anyways they get a little frisky and end up in a knife fight where Roier cuts Cellbit's mask in half and oh shit! This guy, tyrant King Farael is Roier's first crush! He knows he is, his blue eyes are the same as he remembers!
-The rescue party arrives at the castle and saves Roier, while he is slightly confused about the villain
-It's not even about the puppy crush he had on him, even if it did help him think about the situation from a slightly different angle, it's more like how his evil plan now sounds like a very elaborated suicide attempt
-Well, if this is what the villain wants, then he won't let him have it!
-Meanwhile Cellbit is surprised Roier remembers him, but is otherwise happy because he thinks now Roier has even more reasons to kill him
... and that's all I have until now
