hi! i always thought that sirius and remus care and love each other from how the fics made them so happy in love? is it really not the case in the books? i don't really remember much details

I suggest reading the books again then. I have only read the sections I care about so as usual I suggest asking an old school marauder fan or maybe a Snape fan for details.

Wolfstar is fanfiction. Slash fanfiction. Harry Potter does not endorse gay relationships. Not really, besides Grindledore I guess? So of course Sirius and Remus' relationship in canon is not the same as modern wolfstar fanfiction.

Sirius and Remus care about each other...the same way you cling to a lesser friend because they are the only one left. It's sad really.

Here are the facts (someone correct me if I am wrong):

Sirius thought Remus was the spy in the first war.

Remus never visited Sirius in prison. You would think an old friend would at least visit to get closure or ask why Sirius acted that way.

Remus thought Sirius was guilty. Despite being one of his best friends and knowing how much he loved James.

Sirius carelessly almost used Remus as a murder weapon to kill Snape. Not caring that it could have ruined Remus' life.

Sirius joked about wanting the full moon to come in SWM so he could romp around with his buddies. Despite knowing how much it caused Remus to suffer.

Sirius left all his money to Harry and gave Remus not even a red cent. Despite Harry already being rich and Remus being destitute.

So romantic! You can feel the passionate gay love in the air! Lol.

Honestly, Wolfstar makes little sense. Remus is not Sirius' type - not like James. And Sirius had trust issues with Remus and endangered his life.

If you enjoy Wolfstar fanfiction then you do you. But just don't think it has any basis in canon. James was the only marauder Sirius truly loved as an equal. Remus and Peter were basically the poor, downtrodden pity friends who Sirius probably tolerated because of James.

the headcanon of regulus just being able to cry on command is horrifying but also the funniest thing i’ve ever fucking heard. like i imagine regulus is hanging out with the marauders, post black brothers reconciliation, and him and sirius are bickering and sirius JOKINGLY goes “well it’s not MY fault it’s impossible for you to show any emotion” and regulus blinks. and then just fully starts sobbing.

and james and remus and peter are all like ?!?!?! what the FUCK . RIGHTFULLY SO. and james’ heart is hurting so bad because he’s never seen regulus cry before and he’s trying to comfort him and hold him and regulus, (who is gay and a little shit) is just letting himself be hugged and letting james pet his hair or whatever and remus is like. sirius what the fuck apologize to your brother??????? because sirius has been sitting there the entire time unmoving and he just raises his eyebrows, completely unimpressed and deadpan when he goes, “you guys do know he’s faking right”. and then when remus and james both are like HUH??? torn between bewildered and angry with this reaction, regulus just extracts himself from james, face completely neutral but with tears drying on his cheeks, no sign of the heaving, hyperventilating sobs he’d fallen into literally a second ago and says “i win”. it terrifies peter so bad that he can’t look him in the eyes for a week

Hey there!

Usual disclaimer, I think you would have a more comprehensive answer from someone who is an old school marauders fan. Honestly, most of the fics I have read and enjoyed tend to be about teen Sirius.

Fanon Sirius is kind of like fanon Draco: girly, gay, the type to gossip and paint nails with the ladies, short, submissive, a poor helpless victim and overall boring and woobified.

Canon Sirius as I know him is tall, masculine, harsh, dominating, passionate, loyal and complex. Canon Sirius does not care about Remus as much as his fanon counterpart who seems to worship this loser's shadow. Everytime I see the wolfstar pairing in a fic, I immediately abandon all hope that the fic is good or that Sirius won't annoy me.

Do I hate all fanon Sirius??? Hard to say. Since I have not fully read the books, I think I have more tolerance for certain aspects of fanon Sirius compared to a more hardcore Sirius fan. Like I don't mind fics where Sirius is a sexy womanizer even though in the books Sirius showed little attention to women - like they weren't worth his time lol. Given how rebellious Sirius is, I doubt he would respect conservative pureblood marriage traditions. Plus he's handsome, rich and a bit immature. So yeah I could see Sirius running through women (even though I hate that kind of behaviour in real life). I also don't mind fics where Sirius is a little domestic, eg liking to cook. Especially in fics which are centered around godfather!Sirius.

But I dislike everything about fanon Sirius when it comes to Wolfstar. I was reading this non sexual age play fic with Harry and Draco and one of the reasons why I stopped reading it was because I couldn't take the Wolfstar anymore. Pretty sure I mentioned that to the author too...

honestly love being in the marauders fandom, there are so many talented creators, especially fic writers. like i read popular fics from another fandom, and it just does not hit as hard as the masterpieces yall create over here. other ppl are getting emotional over stuff, and i don’t even bat an eye bc of the absolute tragedies the marauders have put me thru.
