While many People of Alternate Species (PAS) probably exist in the world, Anatomy of the Uncanny has chosen to start with the classics - vampires, werewolves and witches. Each of these species have three playable designations, built-in connections, and unique abilities. We have worked hard to do a deep dive and develop a rich, distinct culture for each, and we can’t wait to share them with you! Over the next few days, we’ll be dropping Creature Features like this one to highlight our favorite parts of the exciting lore we’ve crafted for each of these PAS communities. 

Called by many names in cultures worldwide, from sorcerer to enchantress to wizard. These beings are defined by their innate arcane ability and, with practice and study, mastery of magic. Witch is widely considered a unisex title for the community in modern times.

magic requires a combination of verbal, somatic (arcane hand gestures), and/or material components. Much like language, magic has a personal accent. It is common for individual witches to accomplish the same magic with slightly different gestures, ingredients, and intonations.

Magic is broken into different types/schools of magic, each of which is called a Focus. Most witches will have a single focus; more advanced adepts will have two focusses.

All witches have a familiar. A familiar is an animal reflection of their witch's inner self, and their companion from summoning until that witch's death.

London is the capital and largest city of England and the United Kingdom, with a population of around 8.8 million. Most of the population goes about their silly little lives unaware of anything unusual around them. Maybe they see a shadow out of the corner of their eye, the shape of what could be a stray dog on a full moon, or even the local herbal remedy shop really knowing how to cure all. Hidden within the economically powerful city, the SUPERNATURAL WORLD thrives.

VAMPIRES, WEREWOLVES, and WITCHES exist. Hidden behind a spell that was cast by one of the local witch covens, the eyes of mortals are easily fooled into believing and explaining away whatever they see behind the veil. However, at times, an occasional MORTAL can see through to the modern world of the supernatural in London.

For the most part, the supernatural live harmoniously in mortal society; some hold everyday jobs and simply want to go about their lives as they see fit. But things do happen among the supernatural and that is where the WATCHERS step in. Watchers are supernatural hunters who are tasked as historians of the supernatural, keepers of the peace in the supernatural world, keeping the existence of the supernatural hidden from the human world while also protecting the inhabitants of both.

But not all are happy with the status quo.

There have always been grumbles among the supernatural that they should be rulers of the world; some believe it’s time to come out to the human world.

RP Partner Ad - 30+ f, queer romance

Looking for long term partners in my age range, namely 30+, to write spicy, gay romance with on Discord. I've been writing my vampire for four years and would love to see him in some different scenarios.

I'm especially interested in seeing him play out in an urban fantasy setting where he is more involved with the political going-ons of vampire society.

That said, I also love coming up with OCs on the fly. I am extremely adaptable to different plots.

I like the supernatural, e.g. vampires, demons, angels, ghosts, witches, religion. I like my RPs to be spicy, pushing the characters' boundaries, D/s, power imbalances, slow burn, anguished, pain as pleasure. My character isn't defined by their sexual predilections but to put a point on it, he is a verse/switch.

I enjoy world building, urban fantasy, historic fantasy, even a bit of science fantasy. Dystopian settings are really fun too. Despite the movie being lame, Water World had kind of an interesting thing going on. I also enjoy genre blending.

I'm interested in all kinds of scenarios but here are some that have been burning a hole in my pocket. We can start with these or even something completely different:

MOTORCYCLE MONSTERS: Dark cyberpunk setting. Your character leads the biker gang. My character is an orphaned vampire, drawn to yours due to the command and confidence you exhibit. From there, I think there's some opportunity for mistakes and punishment, personal growth, a begrudging growing desire between the two characters. Enemies to lovers'ish, I guess.

DUSTPUNK: Desert dystopia filled with competing factions vying for resources. My character is an agent of the vampire faction who hunts and assassinates their enemies. Your character has done something to draw the attention and ire of the vampires. My character is sent to hunt you down and bring you back to the vamps.

URBAN FANTASY: Like mentioned above, my character is more involved with the political machinations of vampires. I really enjoy when vampires are still in hiding, so I'd like to maintain that part. Your character could be a rival, someone trying to disrupt my character's plans, another supernatural creature, or something else entirely.

VAMPIRE HUNTER: I've always wanted to play across from a hunter. I think this could easily fit in urban fantasy but any setting or plot could work.

In the beginning, there was violence and chaos. The beauty of the new world was marred with the crimson of the slain and the anguished cries of those left behind. For centuries, the turbulence waged with alliances constantly shifting between species as warfare continued. Until the Faeries intervened and the Inter-Realm Treaty was signed. It fashioned the birth of the new world that followed, Lume Noua. Seven realms were created, each led by a different species in newly established noble houses across the realms, and set the tone and culture of their new civilizations - one built on the foundation of the peace treaty. Making masks & shifting forms

In your Wolf form, you have access to the benefits of your beastly Attributes, can sing magical Spellsongs, and can resist harm with your Resolve. In your Mortal form, you'll switch your Attributes, Spellsongs, and Resolve out for strong, flexible Mortal Powers that can turn the tide of any situation they're used in. Through character advancement, you can strengthen yourself as you see fit. Perhaps you favor one form over the other, or you may switch between them frequently. The choice is yours.

Surprise surprise! We're doing another one yall! This time Summer Camp Edition! :D

Basically summer's back again and camp is IN SESSION >:D Regulus is going through the paces trying to keep everything afloat in his first year as camp director, and additional bumps in the road are the last thing he needs, thanks. So when his brother returns as a counselor after having left the camp for a good few years, it is the last thing he wants to deal with. Add on Tom Riddle's newfound interest in buying the property off of him for reasons unknown (and by that I mean i just don't feel like figuring it out), and you have a recipe for disaster.

So clearly, Pandora's going to hire another new counselor, James Potter, as well!

Shenanigans ensue and whatever whatever, it's just all very fun and exciting so yeah!
