This may not be an issue many people think about, but about 8% of the male population is colour blind (about 4.5% of humans total). Colour blind usually meaning you have trouble distinguishing between red and green. Despite this being a fairly high percentage, my partner, who is colour blind, frequently encounters board games and video games he cannot play because they rely on colour vision. An easy example is Uno, where you need to play either a matching colour or number. If you can't tell apart the colours, it's very hard to play.

So kudos to this new print of Uno for adding those little symbols for the colour blind:

I will also thank Ticket to Ride for using symbols as well as colours:

There are several boardgames that I have marked with permanent marker so my partner can play them. It's a small added design feature to have symbols matching colours but it makes a big difference.

So this was for day 8 of the challenge: boardgames.

I did a rough putline of it, but I don't think I'll ever get around to finishing it honestly.

The feel is supposed to be someone walking in on them while their in a middle of a break for their D&D game. 😊

Day 23 of Peachtober - Party 🥳

When I think of party I think of D&D! Or any RPG. Cold days = more board games + snacks so LET’s GO!

Games night! Warhammer 40,000 kill team.

Played a fun game of Kill Team with my Blooded into Mandrakes.

Mandrakes took the win.

I had a great game, and I'm still really enjoying playing blooded - Why didn't I play with these guys earlier in the campaign! I especially like playing the Blooded as the Savlar Chem-Dogs,  love these guys, they are brilliant in the novels. Their narrative fits well into the blooded rules as well. But anyway, back to the game, it was a really good game. Played on enter the dark, it was slow and methodical game, not too much action. Lots of running around dark corridors and rooms.

The victory points make it sound like the game was close, because there's only three points in it. But, the Mandrakes had it from turn one! That ability just a bip around the board by using shadows to just teleport about, there was just no way my poor Chem-Dogs could keep up with that kind of movement, particularly when it is a snatch and grab objectives game.

So yeah, really enjoyed the game. Had a great time, and really looking forward to the next game where I'm gonna play my Chem-Dogs again as blooded and hopefully get another win in.
