Redesign dropped!! I will no longer be using Vaquero Wally as a placeholder! This AU is officially separate from other AUs!!

Gave him some spurs, but he doesn’t use them for riding, he just likes the jingle sound a lot. Plus it makes him easier to find when he dissociates and wanders off.

Wally also has a revolver that he never uses and has no bullets for. He likes the way the chamber spins and has it more for mimicking his best friend, Barnaby… which is a shame because he’s a crack shot with both hands… but we can’t trust Wally with a gun on his own! He just goes shooting with Barnaby’s supervision.

Ok. I just need to take a moment and say I absolutely love how Wally's reactions while dodging an alien hurtling towards him out of his 𝘞𝘐𝘍𝘌'𝘚 mouth are normal, but then his finishing expression and pose is like a Greek statue.

His face just goes from pure shock to ✨𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤✨.

Honestly, it gives me "I want you to draw me like one of your French girls" vibes.

Don't even get me started on Dick's reaction, lmao.

No but why is Karen and Wally bonding over being the only not rich kids on the team everything—

It's literally giving me life. The Titans, Teen or otherwise, have a serious lack of grounded characters (and not in a 'no powers = grounded' way).

Wally has always been that character. He's always been the everyday, average normal guy living among billionaires royalty and demigods. (Which is wild because he should not be that normal with his power set and abilities)

Karen and Mal were also grounded characters in the og Teen Titans (which, again, was really needed cause Dick did shit like handing strangers thousands of dollars to keep quiet about his friend's antics and Roy went off and did shit like buying a bar on a whim at 16 and Donna and Garth had no concept of money or consequences) but unfortunately the series never really explored that aspect of their characters.

But now??? Now when Roy complains that Wally doesn't have a helipad at his house Wally doesn't have to 'Jim the camera'. Wally has a whole ass person to text this shit to!!! Karen can Snapchat Wally about how Donna thinks healthcare comes from purple laser beams and has zero concept of insurance. They aren't alone!!!

And honestly I love it so much.

Little Rambling

Okay, so I love crossovers. They were easily one of my favorite things, so here's a little ramble about a crossover I probably will never write, but might eventually

Wild Kratts meets DC (specifically Young Justice)

Jimmy's parents are rich who deal specifically with technology. They don't have a rivalry with Wayne Enterprises, instead they have a good relationship with each other. After Bruce adopted Dick, he suggested that he and Jimmy hung out together because they were both the same age

Eventually, Jimmy figures out that Bruce is Batman. He convinces Bruce to let him fight crime with him. He became Falcon Claw, but usually was just called Falcon

However, Jimmy gets into a really bad car crash then kidnapped for three weeks. He had to get his right leg amputated and had to go to the hospital. After, Jimmy decided to step away from the superhero life indefinitely

The Tortuga Crew hired Jimmy to be their pilot (a skill he had heard from Hal Jorden). Jimmy stopped exercising as much, so he got out of shape

Batman calls him to see if he would be interested in joining the Team, but he declines because he's enjoying himself with the Crew. Batman is a little disappointed because he does miss Jimmy, but is understanding of his decision

I also love the idea that Jimmy has superstrength. So like, he eats a lot because he burns through the calories a lot, even if he isn't working out all that much. Jimmy got secret abs, y'all

I'm thinking that this AU could be called something like:

Ex-Superhero Jimmy Z

"Wallace 'Wally' West" II and "Wally West II" means the same person in my chart. I added the "Wallace" for clarity (which in retrospect was really silly) but forgot to add it to the other ship.

"Wally West" and "Wally West II" are not synonyms on Ao3, I do however believe that many people use both tags or either tag for the "original" Wally West. Of course I don't know for sure but both character tags are connected to the Teen Titans Animated TV Show etc., so... yeah. "Wally West II" is probably supposed to mean his cousin/Ace/reboot-Wally though.

Additional info:

DC rebooted its universe in 2011 and introduced a new character who was supposed to be the Wally West of the new universe.

Then in 2016 they realized it was all a big mistake and they slowly started to "de-boot" everything, a process that would start by bringing back the original, Pre-Flashpoint Wally, which was a highly beloved character.

But they couldn't just get rid of the new Wally, so Geoff Johns did a retcon where he estabilished they were cousins. So basically they became two different characters.

First, they started to call the new Wally "Wallace" to distinguish it from the original Wally. Later, Jeremy Adams shortened it to "Ace" to completely end the confusion.
