#why pearl needs therapy

PokéSpe Pearl needs some SERIOUS therapy after all he went through, and I'm gonna tell you why! (HEADCANONS GALORE, DON'T LIKE HEADCANONS, DON'T INTERACT WITH THIS!!!)

I think I might be coming down with something (it's winter here and I'm so hot and clammy I'm seriously about to change out of my long sleeves and sweatpants and switch them out with short sleeves and shorts, I'm not joking), buuuuut I'd been working on gathering photos from my DPPt manga volumes to use for this post since I'd had an idea to do this for a WHILE now, and I really wanna get it done, so my hyperfocus won over my health again (as if that doesn't happen all the time).

Anyway, here's the post!

So, I'm back with another PokéSpe post, this time about my boy Pearl and the reasons why I think he needs some SERIOUS therapy, I went through my volumes and gathered photos of some scenes that he had to endure/witness throughout his journey. So all aboard the Pearl trauma train as we explore why (in my opinion anyway) there's no way in heck that this boy is okay (and why I seriously love the fanfics that explore this concept and wish there were more of them).

First, a couple of general things/headcanons that make me think he needs therapy:

He's EXTREMELY ANXIOUS, he freaks out over the smallest things (especially in the earlier volumes), I headcanon he has GAD because of that, because I have GAD myself and it's like that for me too. Also don't forget my headcanon that he's neurodivergent (AuDHD) from that post I made last year! That wouldn't help things either.

He's EXTREMELY PARENTIFIED throughout the ENTIRE JOURNEY, which does not help the anxiety of this 12 YEAR OLD CHILD!!!

He doesn't really know how to handle his emotions (that's Dia's thing), so he lashes out a lot. He also doesn't like showing vulnerability (that's ALSO Dia's thing).

I will try to go in order of events as best I can. If I missed anything, please feel free to let me know what I missed. Here we go!

(Volume 2) Nearly being buried alive by Cyrus inside Mt. Coronet.

(Volume 3) Witnessing Paka and Uji be ripped from the world (look at his desperation to save them and shock when he's told there's nothing that he can do).

And then this reaction after they disappear is just...he's traumatized, look at him, that facial expression says it all, also the fact that he can't even stop shaking as he tries to process it, to the point where he needs to lean on Diamond so he doesn't collapse on the ground.

(It's a tiny bit similar to one of my traumatized Orange expressions actually, though I'm obviously not nearly as good at drawing facial expressions.)

Anyway...back to Pearl and the stuff he's been through!

(Volumes 5-6) Accidentally stepping on a moving conveyor belt in the Fuego Ironworks and because of it, facing the chance of being killed by the giant furnace (look at his face as he realizes his dire situation and says "If that fire is hot enough to melt iron, I'm as good as dead!", it says it all).

(Volume 7) BEING CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE EXPLOSION OF THE GALACTIC BOMB!!!! This is one I REFUSE to believe didn't traumatize him. He's lucky to have SURVIVED THAT!!!

The slump he went into for a bit after failing to protect Azelf...heartbreaking...

His panicked state upon waking up and not knowing where he is or where his Pokémon are...(also, I headcanon that he was dreaming about the bomb which would explain his panic upon waking up).

His relief upon seeing his Pokémon are okay, and then immediately remembering how they got injured because of him and feeling so guilty, that panel looking into his window as he just sits there thinking about everything that just happened is heartbreaking, you can tell he's GOING THROUGH IT mentally with his face completely shadowed and the rain pouring down outside. Luckily Wake is able to help him snap out of it so this slump doesn't last long.

(Volume 8) 12 year old children meet giant legendary deities of time and space, and are overwhelmed at just MEETING THEM...their expressions in the panel on the bottom right of the page show that very well.

(Volume 9) Dia tries to pull a heroic sacrifice in order to stop Cyrus...look at Pearl's reaction when he sees what his best friend is trying to do...honestly this scene makes THE SCENE even more heartbreaking...(don't worry we'll get to THAT soon)

(Volume 10) Seeing the bedridden Gym Leaders, especially Wake, is upsetting to both Diamond and Pearl, but Pearl is clearly worried about his mentor and it hurts to see.

Then he gets a music player containing his very own theme song that Wake made for him, which gets him all emotional, but he keeps it in, as always. (Which isn't healthy especially considering all the stuff this 12 YEAR OLD has endured up to this point...but we're still not done yet of course.)

(Volume 11) Here we go, it's time for THE SCENE. The one event that I headcanon to have traumatized Pearl the most, even more than being caught in the explosion of a LITERAL BOMB...and that event is Dia saving Pearl from Giratina's Shadow Force attack, but ending up taking it himself...

...much to Pearl's shock and horror.

Pearl starts shaking as he desperately tries to get Dia to wake up, but his best friend just lays lifeless on the ground, eyes wide open but completely soulless.

Pearl's expression here is heartbreaking, it's like he's finally realizing what happened, he just lost his best friend.

And now he's ready for revenge, and so are Dia's Pokémon...as they should be.

Just imagine being a CHILD fighting to save the literal UNIVERSE, and then having to say that you saw your BEST FRIEND die, right in front of you...and then said best friend's BODY DISAPPEARING INTO THIN AIR!!! Yeah...there's no way he ain't traumatized from all of that.

(Of course, Dia didn't die, but Pearl really thought he did, and that's just so messed up to think about...)

So anyway, there's my post about why (in my opinion) Pearl is traumatized and needs some SERIOUS therapy. If I missed anything feel free to let me know!

(I'm finally finished with this post, so now that I'm done with it I can FINALLY go to bed, especially since I think I'm coming down with something. It's 1:05 AM right now, I've been at this for hours, and I'm struggling to keep my eyes open... Ah yes, autistic hyperfocus, both a blessing and a curse at the same time 😅.)

I feel like Dawn would end up starring in PokerStars studios at some point. It just feels like her kind of place.

I feel like that's more of a Serena thing. She was really into Pokevision and Showcases are all about showing yourself and she is an Idol, friends with Lisia now!? She is meant for such extravangances.

And I know this will sound bullshit because no one understands dawn like i do/j but like... Dawn.. doesnt seem to like getting too much attention on herself?

Like, she has an outgoing personality, is a social butterfly and is not afraid of being loud and all that but.. She's very bashful when she is made the center of attention; specially around those she doesn't know.

When she learns the battle in DP029 is gonna be recorded, her first instinct is to get out of the camera's view and get her hair fixed (not to mention any time her hair gets messed up and made fun of and how one time she passed out because of it).

Ash asks her for a dance at DP082 and while one can only guess why she rejected it, I wouldn't be surprised if it was out of shame (specially with how he danced lmao).

When she wins the award for best bonding with Grimer in DP088, her reaction is to blush shyly at the praises (unnusual for her!)

During the johto festival in DP143, Lyra calls Dawn on for a battle and her first reaction is to freak out. Only after some peer pressure (and support), that she goes for it.

Dawn only did the cheerleader thing during rematches and everytime there were very few people around (and the fact she didnt dress up for the Leon battle kinda adds that she only does that with a small number of people as witnesses)

Meanwhile..

Serena seemed very comfortable and not at all nervous about having a camera on her at all times for the pokevision thing in XY021 and having her videos seen by folks worldwide(!)

She did the modeling thing for Valerie in XY073 and while she did look nervous, she seemed to get over it pretty fast the moment her friends showed up (even talking to them from the catwalk lmao).

Dressing up as Ash and taking his place during a battle with a random dude at XY115 with no shame? Other pokegirls could never.

She made a Showcase presentation for the whole town to see at XY138!!

She is an IDOL!! OFFICIALLY!!!

What I'm trying to say is... Dawn would skip sleep to memorize the lines for a movie and then fall asleep in the actual recording and she knows it. And she is not living that kind of shame.

Solace for the Lonely

This was an AU idea I had just aptly named "Life Series Therapy Session" where it stemmed from a stupid headcanon that after a while, Grian started to feel bad for how the games were taking a toll on his friends so instead of being an eldritch horror he uses Watcher like abilities to like.....make therapy for his friends???

Joel was his guinea pig.

Basically the premise for Joel's session was he had to find closure in his past as one of the lonelier members by helping other members who were cursed with loneliness in other life series' and help them come to terms with things.

With LL!Scar, Joel is a bit awkward because it's the first person he's conversing with so there's this sorta of whiplash and this season was the one where him going red left them both alone.

Scar is also shocked at the sight of a Joel who isn't mental, and given Scar's track record in later seasons of unfaithful soulmates and forced villainy, Joel finds him the hardest to comfort.

He opts for telling him that one day he'll meet people he can call family, hinting towards the Clockers, but never outright saying it. He thinks back on his time with the Bad Boys, and his unwavering loyalty to them. He thinks the season might've been a step towards a less solitary life for them both.

When he sees DL!Pearl is his next "client," he's much more confident. He's teamed with Pearl at this point, and he knows that she will not have to suffer her Double Life fate again.

He has to tiptoe around specifically mentioning the Mounders and the fact that they are a group that forms because he doesn't want the Butterfly Effect to take place. Being as vague as possible, he assures Pearl that one day she will find people to be devoted to again (even if he does leave out the part about them all dying before her...for her own wellbeing).

Pearl is naturally skeptical. She's been isolated on this server that's meant to be about love and in this world where DL!Joel is purposefully antagonistic, here he is uncharacteristically telling her everything will turn out okay in the vaguest nature possible. And she's just expected to believe that?

Even so, as he walks away, she can't help but feel a little more hopeful.

The last person Joel encounters is SL!Lizzie, and this one stings a bit more. Joel knows Lizzie's fate in this world, and it's not pretty for her. Lizzie didn't particularly have a happy story in Last Life either, so something about this is extra unfortunate.

Joel just goes straight in and tells her that he will always be there for her because that is the full truth and he knows Lizzie needs to hear it. Maybe not at this point; maybe at this point SL!Lizzie is completely content and nothing particularly bad has happened to her, and she's wondering why her husband is at her doorstep looking so sympathetic.

But when Joel remembers a certain party, and the way he was still attacked even after being her sole supporter, he feels he has to comfort her, and tell her that he loves her, and somehow make it so her cold and lonely death in the end doesn't feel so bitter after this is all done.

y/n had been keeping herself busy for the past 3 months. she did everything to keep her mind off of everything. weaving baskets and nets like it was a project to give everyone in the clan, fishing for meals that can have her family full for 5 whole months, collecting and discarding every foraged stuff she could get from her endless walks, riding her ilu further and further beyond the reef just to feel something.

being the oldest of the sully kids was tiring but even being a sister wasn't able to make her feel anything. it was much more numbing than it should be. it made her distant from them.

lo'ak couldn't meet y/n in her eyes. it was like if they looked at each other, the walls they both built would crumble the second their gazes meet. it was like strangers being forced to get to know each other after knowing the horrible crimes they both did.

kiri was very concerned for her older sister. y/n exerts her energy beyond her capacity, does dangerous explorations beyond the reef, and sometimes come back with cuts and bruises, and how she would skip meals to finish all the projects she 'needs' to weave. she was overworking herself and in the 3 months y/n was busy, she had fainted countless times eventually norm and max were called when it kept happening.

tuk missed her big sister so much. she missed collecting pearls by the shore and being carried around while exploring the forest. she was scared at how y/n looked now. from once being a bubbly young adult who was curious and eager to learn something new to a drained-out, almost dead-looking na'vi who would kill people if she saw them looking at her weirdly.

if the three were concerned, imagine how her parents feel. it hurt jake and neytiri to see their oldest overwork herself to distract whatever she was feeling. jake knew how it felt like and he wanted to help his daughter badly. but each time he tried to talk to her, y/n would push him away further and further. she even hissed at him to make her point.

neytiri was angry and concerned. why was her daughter pushing her own mother away when all she wanted to do was help? y/n shouldn't push her away because as her mother, neytiri understands her more than y/n knows, or at least that's what she likes to think.

it was like y/n became a stranger that the sully's just allowed to stay in their home.

when y/n was fishing for dinner, her mind had been wandering elsewhere. her eyes stared down at the net she held as dread slowly filled her mind. it was like her sight was enlarging in front of her until she hears a distorted voice call out her name. "y/n."

she pulled away from her trance, eyes widening as her breathing became slightly erratic. y/n breathed in deeply through her nose and out through her mouth before her attention went to ao'nung, or what looked like ao'nung by the shore.

"hey there! just a quick update. tsireya is still swimming with the ikrans, who were gliding through the mountains on their bellies, then they ate an eye of a seaweed. now, the ilus and tulkans are fighting for some reason." ao'nung said, he was far away from y/n but somehow she heard everything clearly.

"oh… wow…" y/n says, clearly not understanding a single thing from what the metkayina had just said.

"how's your existential crisis coming along?" he asked so nonchalantly.

y/n was bewildered to say the least. this was the longest time she had held a conversation for how many months now.

"uh… fine?" she answered back but it sounded more like a question. "good!" ao'nung exclaimed back before turning around to leave when,

"ao'nung!" y/n immediately called for him, who turned back around to look. "can… can dreams also have memories?" that sounded wrong. "i mean, can you still have dreams even when you're dreaming?"

"oh, y/n. what else are memories if not dreams themselves?" ao'nung replies, not making as much sense as the question she asked.

"what–" "alright then, more soon!" ao'nung cuts her off before running off to eywa knows where.

y/n was left once again with her thoughts. she turns back to the net she was holding, only for it to be gone. this confused her and when she turned back to where the shore was, the next thing she knew, she was sitting on a giant rock.

"do you blame yourself?" the same distorted voice that called out her name earlier asked. distress filled her veins as she looked to where she heard the voice.

y/n's eyebrows furrowed. "what?" she asked. she saw herself, an exact copy of herself wearing human clothes that norm and max wear with a pen and paper held in her hands.

"well, it's quite common in this situation for a patient to feel a kind of guilt." her copy said, voice distorting more and more.

y/n's mind was in turmoil. "what situation?" she asked. the same dread she was feeling came into full force. her chest became heavy as it caused her to not breathe well.

her copy had this concerned look but the smallest of a smirk appeared on her lips, the following words leaving the copy's mouth. "the accident."

that's when y/n was transported back to the day neteyam had died.

she was there when he was shot through the chest. she knew the bullet was meant for her but he pushed her away and in turn, the faith of death fell upon him.

while the rest of her family had cried, she didn't. instead, she felt numb and angry. no other emotions filled her body except these two. it had helped her kill some sky people and some avatars when she came back to save kiri with her parents but after that, all y/n felt was numbness.

the heavy routine she placed upon herself became the only thing that made her feel something through the numbness she felt. it wasn't enough but at least it was something.

the same distorted voice came back. "it's very common for people to invent blame or create a causality" then the voice became normal in an abrupt manner, and her surroundings turned to norm's lab where he used his avatar and where they were able to breathe normally. "when in reality, it was completely out of your control." norm's voice was soft as he talked to the young na'vi in front of him, who in turn was staring off through the distance.

the forest where she and neteyam grew up, only for her brother to never come back home.

LIFE SERIES TRIVIA is DIABOLICAL! The watchers literally being like "how well do you guys know your pain and suffering?" (also sorry only winners remember theory truthers)

The way Grian and Scar are such bitter ex-soulmates that Mumbo has to point it out is hilarious. (also them getting even and saying "Just like Third Life" hurt my heart)

Joel is now two for two on unquestioningly trusting Etho only to have something bad happen to him and not even being mad about it what is wrong with this man 😭

Does Joel have the censor bleep on his keyboard or did he just straight up start swearing at Tango and know they would both have to censor it in post to get the effect that he was also making the noise?

Scott's gone from a creaking fanboy to a body horror situation and I'm living for it (also considering he's agreed to "go wild" this session--am I sensing a Scott corruption arc?)

Scott cutting directly from saying he and Jimmy were never married even though they called each other husbands to a scene WITH Jimmy was kind of an insane choice

Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss Girldad has been confirmed by Scott as the actual reason for the 4Gs. I still think Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss ImpulseSV is funnier but good to have an official ruling

Scott giving up his life for Pearl and them being good natured about it and calling it therapy! I love them so much!

Lizzie being the only person who's not exicted when a trivia bot spawns is so funny. Even the other players who weren't in all the seasons don't seem to be as miffed by them as she is.

Lizzie's flaming snail arising out of that hole while smiling is potentially the funniest thing I've seen all day. Why did it look like that 🤣

I'd make a longer post (and maybe one day I will) but since Lore Olympus, the story that introduced me to webtoons is coming to an end I'd like to say something:

I can't believe it is considered problematic. It has to be one of the sweetest, fluffiest, simplest stories I have read (hence why I still like it, it's a relaxing read before bed) and somehow it got too "kinky" for mainstream. It's laughable.

Everytime I dare to click on their tag or look for the # on Twitter or FB I see people clutching their pearls as if Lore Olympus were brainwashing teenagers into marrying a non existent God of the dead and have babies with him. What the hell?

The fact that people think LO is too dark makes me laugh. A single episode of Rick&Morty, BoJack Horseman or HQS has way more explicit content and dialogue. In fact!!! If it were up to me LO would have gotten genuinely kinky!!! All it does is have some surface spicy tropes that get sugar coated to not make puritans awkward and tbh that's sad. LO and the author get terribly hated anyway for daring to portray the most common female fantasy.

And this all makes me laugh but also mad because you'd think LO at least has some genuine dark themes but no? At most we have Persephone's trauma due to Apollo's abuse and yet that topic is treated as a therapy pamphlet because people couldn't handle an imperfect victim. Hades is a wife guy who shows little to no anger. Hera was re written to be sort of a feminist so that people stopped being annoying about women having emotions.

LO is a sweet, simple story with tiny spicy things here and there that were eventually pushed aside because people couldn't handle it. I wonder how Rachel feels about this, because at the beginning the story was extremely spicy and the only crime was being published in a platform as webtoon, full of people who can't differentiate reality from fiction.

Is LO a masterpiece? Idk! I enjoy the story, it's very self indulgent for me, but I won't go and analyze every detail to see how it should be labeled as it's not meant to be a perfect media. It's meant to be an entertaining, nice story of romance and it does that job very well. This need to demand perfect writing while also crucifying authors over "dark" themes is ridiculous and contradictory.

And I keep wondering, if these people loathe LO so much, why dedicate all that time to the infinte posts they make about how they would have told the story? And all those re tellings are boring! TLDR: LO being too problematic for people is both funny and annoying. I wished it actually were as kinky and dark as people insist it is. I'd pay for a toxic romance, but that being said, I LOVE it very much as it is and it's nice to have a re telling that, while not pretending to be loyal to mythology, didn't go for a route of sanitizing all the myths. 1. Cracked AU

AU where both Calvin and Bee have been dealing with hallucinations from their mum's passing. They go to therapy (Bee goes to a normal one while Calvin goes to the Sunny's), and long story short, Bee punched somebody in the face, and Calvin and Sunny are now missing. Cut to the present day, and now Bee sees cracked Calvin and tries to uncover who he is while trying to help the IFs to get to other people, while also discovering that kids also need their IFs. Also, Cosmo is more mellow because Sunny was his friend, and they had a falling out. Also, when you think of Calvin, think of Land of Lustreous body horror. Yeap-

2. Who Framed Art Teacher? AU

Basically Who Framed Roger Rabbit? movie but with IFs in each place. Cosmo is the detective, Pearl ( @art-tea-chill 's OC!!!) is his friend (maybe more? >:3€), Art Teacher is in Roger Rabbit's place except he starts out more trying to calm down before dealing with the investigation and immediately goes loco and nervous, and Calvin is in Jessica's place except instead of a suave singer he's more of a comedic more or less suave comedian who Cosmo just, hates. He hates him but tries to still try to get his story, even if he tries all of his best not to hate him a lot.

Also there is a certain OC planted in this AU as well as a certain secret that Cosmo and Pearl are hiding about themselves >:}€

3. Swapped Imagination AU

Basically a swap between Calvin and Blossom's style, where Calvin is the humanoid butterfly IF and Blossom is the human-like IF, and Cosmo accidentally breaks his wings while Blossom is way taller than both of them combined now-

4. IB IF AU

Y'all know that game which is called IB? Welp, now it's Bee in place of IB, Calvin in place of the twink, and Cosmo in place of the blonde girl. All of them go through obstacles within the art gallery that will try to guide them into insanity, and they must escape before it is too late.

5. Monster High IF AU

AU where Bee comes back to life thanks to her father and finds a building filled with monsters that hide from the public. It's not a high school it's more like a place where the monsters hide in lol- But anyways, she'll have to deal with normies, monsters, and certain dramas and secrets that she'll have to uncover. What is Blossom hiding? And who is this Calvin? Why does he look... familiar? What is he hiding too?

6. FNAF IF AU

Calvin is the Mimic and Blue fucking jumps Bee and Calvin's mum's head off which leads to the pizzeria closing, which makes Calvin resent him because now he's far away from figuring out who he is now! After being in this animatronic body for what feels like ages, he's losing memories and what might be his former self. Years later, Bee tries to look throigh the pizzeria when her dad becomes the nightguard, and tries figuring out why so many people have died there, and why her art teacher suddenly became more aggressive, and sometimes even numb to the pain after just working there for a few nights.

7. Crime Scene Cleaner AU

Based off the actual video game called Crime Scene Cleaner!!! Calvin is now a crime scene cleaner for the mafia and he does this to pay for his father's heart surgery, and while the days go by, and the tasks grow bigger and bigger, he starts becoming numb to it all? But he's not going to lose himself into the deep end, right? ...Right?

8. Dead Or Not?: Disco Elysium IF AU

Art Teacher is in place of Harry (and his name is now Arthur!!! <333€) and is somebody dealing with amnesia, and his partner in a new case is Calvin, in place of Kim. Both deal with shenanigans and the case which will determine who they are now. They also encounter Bee along the way, and Arthur starts trying to discover his own and Calvin's past. Also Sunny is included as an assigned therapist for Arthur, and will be very important to him later on in the story...

This AU is loosely based off the game, I just wanna turn them into shrimp lmao-

hey I keep seeing Splatoon aus so I want to talk now. this is mostly about skizz because he's my favorite (I need him to play Splatoon. for me. please) (there is a bit of inspiration here from rose_kitty's fic all is fair in love and turfwar, mainly just skizz bein' an ex-agent)

note that I mainly play salmon run and hero mode. I know next to nothing about the actual turfwars

Skizz really likes using long-distance stuff, in general, i've noted... but also I think he'd like something fun. other things is that he likes protecting his team. as such, some weapon possibilities I have for him: - Range blaster. Explosions. Fun. and it's long-distance. can't say much about the sub and special weapons, unfortunately - Custom explosher. More explosions! I associate this man with them, not sure why. It's also long-range and pretty accurate (plus a really fun weapon to use), and its sub weapon, Splash Wall, is a pretty good defense for both himself and his teammates! As for the special, Triple Splashdown... I mean, come on. it's triple splashdown.

mmmmm au imp n skizz are roommates (and childhood best friends!). they have a mudpuppy (yes that is a real animal but in this au it's. not that) named Kevin (bubbles malone refrigerator jimmy madeye dugan (espacito appleseed))! (this is also based on AiFiLaT ranchers having a catfish (Norman)) Kevin is skizz's dog(read:mudpuppy) that he brought with him when he and impulse moved (to inkopolis (yes they do live in the plaza area)) for college. impulse also has some pets, but they're at his parent's house.

skizz being an ex-agent. why ex? well. going through near-death experiences, almost on the daily, IS traumatizing thankyouverymuch. as is killing people. he didn't actually want to quit, though- maybe just continue his job with a bit less... murder- but it got to a point where he would literally not sleep for days at a time because of night terrors. his bosses (read: callie and marie and cap'n cuttlefish (I imagine Callie and Marie as sort of "the bosses" and then Cuttlefish as "the bosses' boss")) basically fired him. not that they disliked him, but they didn't wanna y'know. traumatize him more than they already did. he's in therapy now. yaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Eli, incredibly cautiously, makes his way over to Phyllis, trembling with every step, searching intensely for any signs of aggression.

But from Mother there was none. The goose simply looked perpetually angry.

Eventually, Eli embraces Phyllis, his head resting against her chest.

“Ahh, come on! Y’gonna give him some sugar and not even give ME a taste?!” Franco yells, balling his fists together and stomping like a g-ddamn cartoon.

Phyllis turns to Franco with what appeared to be her version of a scowl.

“Naughty boys like YOU have to earn Mother’s time!” She scolds.

There’s a short pause, then Doctor Futterman speaks:

“Besides, he’s also been brushing. Look at his teeths!”

Another short pause.

Phyllis lifts up Eli’s chin, inspecting both the teeth on his mask and his actual teeth.

While damaged, they were shockingly white.

“Why, you’re right, Doctor Daddy! Like pearls they are…” Phyllis trails.

She gently offers her hand, and she walks Eli to a sink, treating his reopened wounds.

On the other side of the screens, Dr. Easterman lights a cigarette, offering one to his associate, who declines.

“Are we celebrating or mourning?” She asks.

“Celebrating - normally I’d offer you a drink, but I think you have to be sober to enjoy this.” Easterman replies with a grin.

“Why are we allowing this?” She asks, her skepticism making Hendrick scoff and shake his head.

He squints for a moment.

“What do you think is a problem?” He almost accuses.

“Why are we letting Futterman nurture Elliot…isn’t the whole part of this therapy to break them?”

“Because the family is growing.” He takes a drag on his cigarette for a moment, exhaling smoothly.

“So we have Mother, Father, Baby, and…?”

“Grandmother.”

“…Really?”

Hendrick nods.

“Patchwork’s a remarkable case - one that’s sure to raise our innocent baby into a true gentleman.”

“This is about Reagent deaths.”

“Precisely. With someone almost constantly with Baby, we can ensure that he grows into what we need. It will work…the therapies just take time.”

“What if it doesn’t?”

“We cannot afford it to fail. Not now.”

Hendrick takes another drag.

“Not ever.”

His attention was immediately turned to the cameras, as he hears a soft whimper.

“Mm…mama…” Eli trembles.

“That is what I’ve been waiting for.” Hendrick says.

“You’re breakin’ my fuckin’ balls here!” Franco complains.

“Oh shut up ya whiny brat!” Dr. Futterman growls.

“Hey, you want my shit?!” Franco threatens.

“Enough!!” Phyllis scolds. “There is a child present!”

“My ass! Dat’s a tall glass a’ watah…” Franco smirks, not even subtly checking Eli out.

Eli’s face immediately reflects disgust, looking at Franco up and down with a scowl. Well, at least that was something he was used to.

“Tell me dear, what do you like to wear? These clothes are filthy! You need something nice,” Phyllis asks.

“…Pants would be nice…”

“SO HE CAN TALK?” Franco exclaims.

It’s met with a glare.

“Come along then, little gosling! Mother knows where to go!” Phyllis giggles.

Eli takes her hand and they walk out of the sleep room.

“Tell them to release Coyle into the trial Gooseberry and Patchwork are entering. Mother needs to meet Baby’s father.”

God these are live thoughts about this but Tazercrafts dynamic today. Their undoubted attachment to each other fucking hurt today.

Let's see how long this gets.

So first of all its definitely obvious that both still carry wounds from the prison, there's no doubt about it and while Mike definitely showed that a lot more over the last weeks we all kinda picked up on Pac not being okay, on how he was doing his best to move on for Mike. To stay sane for Mike. to ground him when his intrusive thoughts got bad or when he woke up from nightmares after seeing Walter Bob.

We all could see through his facade even if it was just based on instincts and small actions and words he said during the beginning, we knew he wasn't fully okay but no one else did cause above all else this dude is an incredibly talented liar if he has a reason and goal for it.

Now why do I bring that up?. Because we saw him express not being okay today! Mike saw him not being okay today for the first time since they escaped cause even if their minds are melded together by a bond that goes beyond words they're able to keep secrets from each other, and with his own emotions being a bubbling mess there was no way Mike could've noticed that a lot of those were also Pacs.

We saw it with how he got trapped, how he was panicked beyond believe and I think that's the first time Mike noticed that Pac is still very much not okay, because Mike was calm. He noticed Pac be so close to a panic attack to something that usually wouldn't bother him so his mind realized there that Pac was also still hurting, that Pac also needed help just like he did to calm down. While Pac helped him cool his boiling anger, Mike realized he needed to help Pac with his drowning anxiety. That's why his calm response to calm Pac and tell him he'll be okay hurt so much.

It was Mike first realizing Pac needed him too, especially now that they went back there.

The next was when the code attacked, both were so. Helpless. Obviously in typical Pac behavior he ran towards Richas, the ever selfless Pac throwing himself infront of his son like he does during any threat. Which is honestly a scary trait of him if I think about it too deeply (I swear this dude needs therapy but that's a whole other box I'd have to open) and the code zoned in on him. Teasingly hitting him while again, Pacs anxiety bubbled in his throat as he desperately called out for Mike. And Mike again, was helpless staring at his best friend, his souldbound because he couldn't help. He couldn't hit it no matter how much he tried, so he tried so hard to calm Pac but you could tell that this time even Mike was cracking at the seams. Pacs fear and pain meddling through their connection and filling his brain that when the Pearl teleport hit them he passed out on the spot. While Pac kept standing just through sheer adrenaline and blood loss fueling him alone.

This is also the first time forever got to see Pac panic, his constant repeating of words being the worst show of his anxiety we've had so far.

And when Mike finally came back to, and he and Pac could breathe to explain. But Pac vanished, ripped from the reality that surrounded them while Forever, Richas and Mike could do nothing but watch as his vanishing left the faintest purple particles behind, proving that he didn't do this on his own.

Now...I'd like to think that Mike logging off was a connection of multiple things, his hands reacted faster than his mind could comprehend so while Pac got transported through nothingness only to be dropped in ice cold water Mike teleported home.

And then he broke.

There's no doubt that Pac and Mike's minds are tied together, like I've said before they'll always be 2 hearts and 1 soul for me as they're soulbound since childhood. Destined to find each other and stay together till the end of time. So when Pac got teleported Mike could feel the fuzz of the forced teleportation in his own mind, could feel the ice cold water chill him down to the bone knowing that for Pac that feeling was a thousand times worse. And I think the thing that did it, that hit him the hardest was feeling his soulbound snap.

To feel the connection that was usually constantly flowing go dead silent. To feel part of his soul rip apart. To feel part of himself go dull and fade as he could do nothing but hope that this wasn't the end. That he would be able to call out to his partner in crime again and receive a response rather the static that screamed at him now whenever he tried to tap into their connection.

The silence was deafening for Mike, the echos of Pacs voice shouting through his brain as he could nothing but stand there and watch. Stand there and feel as his other half vanished into nothingness.

So his mind shut off, white noise flooding his mind as he fell unconscious and this time having no one by his side. His body laying safe in the arena they built together.

And I think deep down he knows what he'll wake up to, an empty arena. No one looking after him as much as he looks after them. A voice that usually filled his mind with a constant flow of conversation being gone. All while he has to desperately try and rebuild the part of himself that he lost. Just waiting and hoping that this isn't the last time he saw him, that his mind can take this hit better than when they took Walter Bob cause this time he has to be strong. Just like Pac has been for him since their escape. He has to hope and wait and try to find Pac.

Because in Mike's mind, in their shared soul Tazer was now offline.

She's really into jewellery, especially old jewellery and pearls and shit. One of the most iconic visuals in comic history is Martha Wayne's necklace snapping and the pearls going everywhere.

According to her, pearl necklaces are made in such a way that actually prevents that from happening. They're individually knotted so the pearls don't fly everywhere.

But why the visual, you might ask? She said that it's bruce's point of view, and his brain was compartmentaling. She said that what was flying were actually Martha's skull fragments, and a traumatised child's mind conjured up the image that it was pearls
