Aro coded villains that hate love and want to destroy it make so much sense, actually, like, the oversaturation of romance in media and in societal expectations pushes me a little closer to supervillainy every day, too

"Sex is what makes us human" is stupid. Almost every species fucks. Humans are the only species that jumps motorcycles over school buses that are on fire. Some other things too probably

does it kind of annoy anyone else that any time aromanticism or aro pride and such are brought up it always has to be from the lense of being aroace. as if you can't be one without being the other. like it's the expectation that if you're aromantic, you must also therefore be asexual. and if you're only one of these things, particularly aromantic but not asexual, you're weird. like yes it's fine to not have interest in romantic relations so long as you aren't interested in sexual relations either. you must be some sort of freak to only feel sexual attraction and not romantic attraction as well. this kind of also applies to asexuals who aren't aromantic but i kind of feel like it's kind of worse with people who are just aromantic (hi). romantic love is just seen as more pure and acceptable than sexual attraction and i dont really know how to feel about that

also monogamy is just weird to me i guess. its one thing if you simply don't have the emotional bandwidth to nurture multiple romantic or sexual connections (i barely do atp!) but like. imagine if we treated ANY other kind of relationship this way. you can only have one best friend. you can only have one sister. you can only have one mentor. and if you want to have more than one of any of these relationships it means you don't love the first person enough. like that's CRAZY! why is this sentiment applied so strongly to romance!
