Hungover Lan Wangji: ughhh, what happened...?
Wei Wuxian: Wow, drunk Lan Zhan is an entirely different person
Lan Wangji: ...what did I do?
Wei Wuxian: Well, after having a sip of alcohol and passing out, you woke up and tried to steal some chickens
Lan Wangji: Oh god
Wei Wuxian: Then you confessed your undying love for me and told me I am not allowed to kiss anyone but you
Lan Wangji covering his face: Oh no
Wei Wuxian: Then you got us married and adopted an orphan
Lan Wangji: That explains the child
Wei Wuxian: His name is A-Yuan. Then you brought us back to the Jinshi and passed out again
Lan Wangji: Why did you let me do those things?
Wei Wuxian: I was also very drunk

There's something so sad to me about the fact Lan Xichen goes from happily encouraging Lan Wangji to befriend Wei Wuxian to Considering Wei Wuxian to be Lan Wangjis 'only mistake'
Like... Imaging getting a miracle second chance not only at life but to have be loved by the man you've always admired only to find out that his family detests you because during the worst time in your life, physically and mentally you didn't take into account the idea that a man who'd always treated with cool acquaintance at best, active distaste at worst actually cared about you and that his constant reproach and effort get you do give up the one method you have to protect yourself while everyone was literally actually out for your head was honestly because he was badly wording his concern and not because he hated you and the methods you used to survive.

Who wants to bet Peerless Cucumber has an entire fan base within the pidw’s fandom? Potentially even bringing in a portion of pidw’s readers who just want to enjoy shen yuan just loosing it in the comments.
Like sure, some of the fandom’s definitely there for the toxic masculinity and papapa, but I guarantee you there’s an entire section dedicated to gleefully watching the fandom sewer rat being feral.

I get that calling white lotus lbh a sticky little 'sheep' is a canon translation and stuck in the fandom now anyway, but I do feel the intended spirit of the original word wasn't the sheeple/dumb herd animal that's more common in the western world, but instead something actually conveying sweetness, innocence, purity and youth - lamb.
Famous for being utterly adorable and following around their mothers, gambolling in sunny meadows, curly white wool shining.
And NOW we can talk about black sheep/wolf in sheep's clothing metaphors.
