julie help i am confused about the julie canon. are they your real sisters? which ones are the real sisters and which ones are the internet sisters? are paul and sky really together? help

Alright. Here we go. 1. Sky(@theladyinwhite13) and nick(@yourlocalluciferian) and I are real sisters. Like live in the same house sisters, but you probably won’t see a lot of Nick because she’s from the ace/furry/political side of tumblr, whereas the rest of us stick to the swiftie/fandom/song lyrics side of tumblr.

2. I technically don’t have any internet sisters, but here I a great spot to mention Val (@firebrand-witch) She made created a competition (The Hellsite Grammy’s) where people submit their favorite Taylor song to be voted on. (I won this by the way) It was an elimination game and part of the fun was to force all your moot to vote for your song. (Which is why I won. I have a lot of Moots due to The QuestionsTM)

Anyway Sky submitted The Story of us and Pau submitted Haunted. They began to joke: If the story of us wins, I’ll propose; If Haunted wins I’ll say yes. It was all very cute. Then VAL pointed out that Pau did not submit Haunted. She submitted daylight. It was too late. They had already planned out their camp rock themed wedding. So Val and I are not “sisters” but we are wheels three and four to the relationship. Together we make a Barbie Cadillac.

3. Sky and Pau are as in love as two teenage girls who have never met and live three states apart can be. They mostly communicate in song lyrics.

I believe that’s all, excepting that I have a sideblog where I shitpost and fan girl over their relationship. (@iguessiamnick) It’s called I Guess I Am Nick, because in their camp rock wedding I am Nick Jonas.

this is how i think the valentino/casey rivalry plays out in their minds

#the text is just for comic effect to be clear like don't try to read all that. i didn't put enough thought into it for people to read it #//#brr brr #valentino does end up in a more complicated place with casey but the weird thing about it is that -#- the shift only happens for all intents and purposes AFTER the 'rivalry' in on-track terms is kinda over #but then he doesn't even really continue the off-track rivalry in any meaningful way after 2012 #so there's only like a three year time period where valentino got proper weird about casey. not the same continuity #(i'm not saying his behaviour in '08 was 'normal' but emotionally it's very straightforward. to him it's normal to casey it seems deranged)#'base casey' i think was a very comfortable rival for valentino. like he's a tough one to crack obviously but it's a comfort zone opponent #you don't have anything emotionally complicated. which is basically how valentino WOULD prefer it. just the fight for the win #what's really fascinating is that insofar as casey DID unsettle valentino in later years it was in the ways in which he increasingly -#- adapted bits of valentino's playbook to suit his own needs. vale's always least comfortable when fighting a reflection of himself #heretic tag

I still think it’s interesting that Tech seems to agree with Echo that they should be doing more. To some extent, anyway. He’s pragmatic when it comes to making sure the batch has the basics taken care of (like the times he points out that maybe they can’t help on a certain mission because then they can’t do a job and they won’t get paid, which is bad, because they’re broke and still need to eat), but he’s not actually opposed to being more involved.

It’s in little things. They way that Tech is the one besides Echo who voices his moral concerns about the empire right off the bat, that Echo and Tech are the two who have similar (but differently expressed) reactions to the formation of the empire; the look on Tech’s face when Rafa and Trace point out that the batch is trying to get sensitive data without knowing who the buyer is, while they’re trying to get it to someone who’s trying to help; the little knowing look and nod Echo and Tech share before Echo goes to talk to Hunter about how much good they could do using the money they might get from the Serreno heist to fight the Empire. He knows what Echo’s going to try to convince Hunter to do. Even during the argument he has with Echo in “Ruins of War” his position isn’t, “Well, we shouldn’t be helping so it doesn’t matter,” it’s, “Technically we never had the treasure we wanted to use to fight the empire, so we didn’t really lose it—at least we’re not worse off than we started.”

The main difference between them are that Echo has this incredible, undeniable drive to help as many clones as he can, for a lot of reasons, but at least partly because he’s feels a kinship with them that Tech hasn’t quite had the chance to develop (he doesn’t have the same chip on his shoulder as Crosshair starts out with, but there is still a separation there) and has a bit of survivor’s guilt due to what he was used to do on Skako Minor that Tech doesn’t have, because he didn’t go through the same thing; while Tech’s first priority is the batch. He’s often if not always the one getting them out of impossible situations, and I think he knows that. Echo has to help Rex, even if it means leaving his new family for a while; Tech maybe wants to help, but he can’t leave his family while they need him around.

(In fact—sidebar, I could actually see these two having a conversation about both of them going to help Rex at the same time and it going like, “You should come, Tech, they could use your skills,” and Tech going, “And leave Hunter, Wrecker, and Omega on their own? Have you seen them?” and coming to the conclusion that, no, they can’t both leave.)

Anyway I’m not going anywhere with this and it’s really rambly; I just think Echo and Tech are neat and that the only way you could get Tech to go help elsewhere for a bit is if he saw them safe, settled, and being able to get by without him there all the time.

#so anyway if Tech comes back I do think he should go help Rex and Echo for a bit #for many reasons but one #which I want to explore in another post #is that having him around has the potential to bring out a crap ton of development for Echo #and also he’s a bit of a wild card and Rex’s group doesn’t have one #Gregor has a ton of personality and some quirky mannerisms #but when it comes to how does things he’s actually very straightforward #adding Tech to a mix of Rex Echo and Gregor is just bringing some life to the party #ESPECIALLY SINCE having Tech around makes Echo’s logical brain ping off into the middle distance #they are chaotic menaces together and I love it #I still can’t get over how Echo’s reaction to Tech suggesting they get their ship impounded was basically #‘That’s insane. Let’s do it.’

so i’ve been. THINKING lately.

you can find many similarities in both stories but there are also huge differences…

in cain and abel’s story cain murders his younger brother because of his jealousy and because god preferred abel over him, which is obviously similar to how chuck’s pride made him envious of jimmy because he’s more likeable and made their mom laugh etcetera etcetera..but i’d say abel was a pure guy, he didn’t do anything bad, he was like. basically the purest human being at that time (well it’s not really difficult to be the best person when there’s like 4 people in the whole world and two of them literally got kicked out of heaven but anyway). and cain murdered him. which is clearly not the case with jimmy and chuck because obviously in the legal point of view chuck is a better person than jimmy …

and we’ve got esau and jacob, which is i think a really underrated story. i mean i love cain and abel but i think people often forget about those two. esau, (technically) an older brother, always gets tricked by jacob. jacob buys his birthright and steals his father’s blessing that was meant for esau. and esau rages at him because. i mean. that’s not a nice thing to do. but in the end jacob becomes one of the Main Characters in the genesis… personally i think this story is more… idk, specific? there’s just something about the younger brother constantly tricking the older to get what he wants, even though the reasons not always are completely selfish. BUT! in the end esau and jacob made peace which is (spoiler alert😨) not the case with chuck and jimmy ………..and also jacob didn’t really have a redemption arc and esau just. idk. moved on with his life. got a family and all that. so he basically became a normie. but yeah ANYWAYS!

so yeah. i’d really love to hear ur thoughts and opinions on this one because i am a little bit insane about all this stuff as you probably noticed

#arctic monkeys #alex turner #listen this was purely out of curiosity #there are so many poetic and imaginative ways in which alex describes love #i just wanted a tangible record of every time he just straight up uses the word #i was surprised that humbug only had one mention and even that was a b side but when i was making this i realised that it was such a #lyrically dense and innovative album and descriptions of love were more elaborate and straightforward #*less straightforward #(might make a separate post about that)#also found that the other albums were quite consistent except the car #i found it interesting that most of the songs aren’t actually about the same kind of love like the earlier albums were #the earlier ones use love as a nickname and portray the physical embodiment of being in love #and even in tbhc it describes this feeling despite there being slightly fewer mentions #but the car seems more like a goodbye album… not even about breaking up… just goodbye which is very….#there’s no room for love in amongst the melancholia and introspection #and makes me wonder about his relationship with love at the moment #it seems very disassociated and immaterial like he has no interest in spouting poetics about love like he did before #and i hope he can rebuild that relationship #i could probably say more but im not going to bc this is getting way too long #cheers if you actually read this whole fucking essay #i spent way too long on this if you cant tell

going into my final week of classes and we always have one last week after the final paper (so the professors have time for grading) where typically the only work we have is one last discussion post.

usually, this post is pretty simple and light (to go easy on us after the final). my ethics class is like “summarize your conclusions from your final paper! :)” and my communications class is like “tell the class about your career goals! :)”
