my mom said something like this yesterday, that she didn't saw any purpose in life if she can't make me and my sisters happy for longer that we're unhappy, I told her as a parent her role for us is not making us happy all the time, but be there for us even when we're not. now, I think I have pretty debatable life philosophies, but because you asked, I'll tell you how my mind does this even when it gets in a really bad place. I think life has no purpose. I don't believe in making my time alive worth it or a reason behind being in this world. I think we're just here. simple like that. a lot of people find that depressing, I'm sorry if that's the case for you, but I find that beautiful. we don't have to do anything special and there really is nothing we can't do. sometimes is hard for me to keep going, yes there's days I don't wanna get out of bed, but that's fine. yes I feel useless and pathetic from time to time, but is fine. life is made of moments and these moments will make absolutely no sense more often than not, and tbh that's quite beautiful. sometimes you'll wake up in time to see the sunrise or be outside when the sky gets pink at sunset, and there will be no particular reason for looking, is just beautiful. sometimes your earphones that been working only one side for so long will suddenly work on both sides and you can finally experience that one song that is great on earphones completely, or you can even hear 8D audios of all your favorite songs. sometimes you will dye your hair and discover you can always reinvent yourself and your beauty to make you feel so right when you look at the mirror. I don't wanna talk about other people because when I'm in a bad state of mind I hate that, but sometimes a friend will send you a meme that resonates with you so much you'll remember they see you for real, like, you're a person that exists in their life. that's crazy. sometimes you'll talk in the cold weather and see this smoke coming out of your mouth and I just think is really cool. sometimes you will customize a piece of clothing and get surprised at yourself for doing something so cool. and I think is about that, the little moments. you're not here for any reason but you can find a lot of reasons to stay here. if a meaning is so important to you, you can create one. if is not, that's fine, you don't really need it
I'm very sorry to ask something like this, I've really been struggling with this question, and I wanted to ask the combined wisdom of the people on this site
I would like to know why you keep going, and what drives you to keep living. I know there are a lot of reasons to stay alive and enjoy life, I can think of a few that personally resonate with me, but I really want to know what your reasons are
You do not have to comment on this if that's too big of an ask, and I'm very sorry for asking something like this, I really need someone's help, I feel like I don't have much purpose
Also if I may ask, please don't post any suicidal ideation in the comments of this post, I really can't handle something like that right now
#I'm sorry for the long text#and I'm sorry if ot doesn't seem like enough#sometimes i think so too#sometimes i think the good things and the bad things aren't in a balance#which is true actually but if we can hold on to something simple i think it makes it easier#btw if anyone would made a 8D audio blindfolded by cai xukun i would be willing to pay money (except that i have no money...

In recent posts I've complained that a lot of tabletop RPGs which toss around the term "fiction first" don't actually understand what it means, and I've been asked to expand on that complaint. So:
In my experience, there are two ways that game texts which want to position themselves as "fiction first" trip themselves up, one obvious and one subtle.
The first and more obvious pitfall is treating "fiction first" as an abstract ideology. They're using "fiction first" as a synonym for "story over rules" in a way that calls back to the role-playing-versus-roll-playing discourse of the early 2000s. The trouble is, now as then, nobody can usefully explain what "story over rules" actually entails. At best, they land on a definition of "fiction first" that talks about the GM's right to ignore the rules to better serve the story, which is no kind of definition at all – it's just putting a funny hat on the Rule Zero fallacy and trying to pass it off as some sort of totalising ideology of play.
A more useful way of defining "fiction first" play is to think of it not in terms of whether you engage with the rules at all, but in terms of when they're invoked: specifically, as a question of order of operations.
Suppose, for example, that you're playing Dungeons & Dragons, and you pick up the dice and say "I attack the dragon". Some critics would claim that no actual narrative has been established – that this is simply a bare invocation of game mechanics – but in fact we can infer a great deal: your character is going to approach the dragon, navigating any inclement terrain which lies between them, and attempt to kill the dragon using the weapon they're holding in their hand. The rules are so tightly bound to a particular set of narrative circumstances that simply invoking those rules lets us work backwards to determine what the context and stakes must be for that invocation of the rules to be sensical; this, broadly speaking, is what "rules first" looks like.
Conversely, let's say that your game of Dungeons & Dragons has confronted you with a pit blocking your path, and you want to make an Athletics check to cross it. At this point the GM is probably going to stop you and say, hold up, tell us what that looks like. Are you trying to jump across it? Are you trying to climb down one wall of the pit and up the other? Are you trying to tie a rope to the halfling and toss them to the other side? In other words, before you can pick up the dice, you need to have a little sidebar with the GM to hash out what the narrative context is, and to negotiate what can be achieved and what's at stake if you mess it up; this, broadly, is what "fiction first" looks like.
At this point I know some people are thinking "wait, hold on – both of those examples were from Dungeons & Dragons; are you saying that Dungeons & Dragons is both a rules-first game and a fiction-first game?" And yeah, I am. That's the second, more subtle place where game texts that talk about "fiction first" go astray: they talk about it as though being "fiction first" or "rules first" is something which is inherent to game systems as a whole.
This is not in fact true: being "fiction first" or "rules first" is something which describes particular invocations of the rules. In practice, only very simple games spend all of their time in one mode or the other; most will switch back and forth at need. Generally, most "traditional" RPGs (i.e., the direct descendants of Dungeons & Dragons and its various imitators) tend to operate in rules-first mode in combat and fiction-first mode out of it, though this is a simplification – when and how such mode-switching occurs can be quite complex.
Like any other design pattern, "fiction first" mechanics are a tool that's well suited for some jobs, and ill suited for others. Sometimes your rules are fine-grained enough that having an explicit negotiation and stakes-setting phase would just be adding extra steps. Sometimes you're using the outputs of the rules a narrative prompt, and having to pin the context down ahead of time would defeat the purpose. Fortunately, you don't have to commit yourself to one approach or the other; as long as your text is clear about how you're assuming a given set of rules toys will be used, you can switch modes as need dictates. However, you're not going to be capable of that kind of transparency if you're thinking in terms of "this a Fiction First™ game".
(Incidentally, this is why it can be hard to talk about "fiction first" with OSR fans if you're being dogmatic about fiction-first framing being an immutable feature of particular games. Since traditional RPGs tend to observe the above-described rules-first-in-combat, fiction-first-out-of-combat division, and OSR games tend to treat actually getting into a fight as a strategic failure state, a lot of OSR games spend most of their time in fiction-first mode. If you go up to an OSR fan and insist that D&D-style games can never be fiction-first, then attempt to define "fiction first" for them and proceed to describe how they usually play, they'll quite justifiably conclude that you have your head up your ass!)

🩰 - princess treatment
summary: chris gets his drunk girlfriend home and ready for bed

word count: 770
author's note: finally got one posted on time yayyy!!
------------------------୨୧------------------------
“come on, babe, it's time to go. i called us an uber,” your boyfriend says to you as he gently pulls you away from dancing with a group of friends. “no,” you whine. “yes,” he says softly but firmly, “we've been here for almost four hours now and you're wasted.”
it was true. he'd only wanted to stop by for an hour at the most and say hi to his friends. you both wanted to stay sober too. but you saw some old friends and forgot all about your agreement with chris. “no i'm not.” you try to lie despite slurring your words but it's clear to anyone that you are. “how much have you had to drink then?” it takes you a moment to answer but you simply shrug. “if you can't remember, it's been too much, princess.”
it was a nickname he liked to use for you often but that was all he'd been calling you tonight, probably because of your costumes.
that's actually how you had found the idea. you two were sitting on the couch and your mind was completely blank. you knew it was a costume party and you wanted to participate with something easy since you wouldn't be there for long, or so you thought. “i can't think of anything,” you had said, “and all the ideas i do come up with, i don't like.” “i'll be happy with whatever you choose, princess,” he replied. that's when it clicked. “that's perfect! let's be a princess and prince!”
now here you are in your costumes. yours is a light pink corset top with gold detailing paired with a skirt of the same shade. a plastic gold and pink tiara sits atop your perfect styled head of hair. white socks with ruffles at the top and a pair of gold heels borrowed from a friend complete the look. meanwhile, chris is in a simple white button down shirt with a pair of dark jeans, white shoes and the crown from his last tour on his head.
his phone pings with a notification that the uber is here and he gives your hand a gentle tug. “the uber is here, we have to leave.” he gives you a chance to say a quick goodbye to your friends before you walk out hand in hand. he opens the car door for you and helps you in before getting in and shutting the door. he buckles you in before doing the same for himself.
your head rests on chris’ shoulder and it seems like barely any time has passed before he's getting out of the car and helping you out. he notices how tired you now seem so he picks you up and puts you over his shoulder, carefully positioning his hand so as not to let you expose anything.
he carries you inside and into his bedroom which is thankfully on the bottom floor so he doesn't have to take you up any stairs. he sits you down on his bed. “what do you want to do first?” “clothes,” you tiredly mumble.
he kneels in front of you, removing your heels and socks. “can you stand up for me, my love?” you nod and stand so he can loosen the corset top. he helps you out of it, discarding it to his bedroom floor somewhere to deal with later. he pulls your skirt down, helping you step out of it.
he quickly grabs something for you to wear, noticing how you slightly shiver. he puts one of his t-shirts on you and helps you step into some pajama pants you had previously left there. “there we go. come on, sweetheart, into the bathroom,” he says as he guides you in there.
he picks you up and puts you on the counter before grabbing some makeup wipes and wiping your face as delicately as he can manage. next, he puts some toothpaste on a toothbrush for you and helps you brush, holding your hair back when you spit in the sink.
once you're all finished, he carries you down and helps you into bed, making sure you're comfortable before leaving the room. he goes up to the kitchen and comes back down with a bottle of water and two advils for the headache he knows you'll wake up with, leaving them on his nightstand next to you.
he gets himself unready before he climbs into bed beside you and kisses your forehead. “goodnight, my princess. sweet dreams,” he whispers as he turns the lights off and lays down, both of you drifting off to sleep as he holds you.

Wait, has reader and Gojo ever said I love you? Cause I swear Gojo be constantly asking her "Do you love me yet :D?" When they weren't even dating yet
oh yeah they’re saying shit all of the time, but if you recall (or don’t idk) it did indeed take them nine years to get together.
which is actually so ridiculous now that i’m thinking about it??? guys be so honest with me rn
still, gojo knows you love him. and he’s sure to use that to his full advantage.
“are you sure you have to leave?” he’s asking you, a year in, his smile different than when you were still in school—and yet so the same.
he hasn’t changed since your second year, but everything else has.
maybe that’s why you’re so attached to him, actually.
“are you sure you don’t want to stay?” he asks again, so sweetly, tugging on your hand from where he’s leaning across the couch.
“am i sure that i want to go to bed and escape you? yes.”
satoru doesn’t even flinch. “but are you sure?”
you roll your eyes and shake his hand from yours. you’ll be back tomorrow. he can deal with ten hours apart from you (and maybe you can too).
but as soon as you walk towards the door, he’s following.
“stay,” he says, already whining. “don’t you love me?”
“what a question, satoru.”
“but we’re perfect for each other,” he tells you, picking up your hand again. his voice is honey-thick, flirty. “you think i’m cute and i think that you’re right about that.”
“you should leave me a yelp review or something,” you tell him, pushing at his chest. “with all your high praise.”
“sure. all you have to do is tend to me and spend the night,” he grins. “simple. i’ve even got silk pajamas you can wear.”
you blink. “what a tempting offer.”
but you’re grabbing your bag, then your shoes, attached to satoru at one end and busy on the other.
“c’mon. you’ll miss me.”
“it sounds more like you’ll miss me, and you hate being alone.”
“because i do hate being alone. and i hate being apart from my one true love—“
you do end up leaving that night—but it might be a couple of hours later.
and when you don’t let gojo pick up another assortment of sweets at the store he’s hanging his head on your shoulder, pouting. “i thought you loved me,” he says, so sadly it almost makes you give in.
almost.
“hmm…” you’re walking down the isles, being sure not to pay any attention to him (he’s being punished for not holding your hand earlier). “i’ll think about it and get back to you.”
“what? we have matching bracelets though.”
you pause, eyebrow raised. “no we don’t?”
“well, we will when i buy them.”
“if you’re buying some for us you’re also going to have to get some for tsumiki. you know how she feels about being left out—“
“yeah yeah,” satoru is still on your shoulder, his throat vibrating just enough for you to feel it down your back. and then his eyes drift over and he’s gone. “look at this! i need it.”
(he doesn’t).
it’s not that he can’t say the words, or that you can’t, even.
it’s more that sincerity is toxic to the both of you, that being honest is a drug you’ve gotten used to. the dosage is too small, the affects are temporary.
and you’re busy. you use up your admiration for tsumiki and megumi—assuring them constantly that you love them, that they’re wonderful just as they are.
being a parent changes that perspective; it makes love something so different. loving them is as easy as giving up—giving in to that simple want to be there for them.
actually being in love is different.
and you knew that when you were sixteen, really. you’ve known that for years. but being in love with gojo satoru changes once you have the responsibility of the children.
there’s less time to do it, more time to dwell on it.
you’ve always been so scared of him. not like everyone else—not because he could hurt you in and instant, because he’s holds more power than you could possibly imagine.
but because you don’t want him to. you want him to be that boy that surprised you when you first met, the one who leans on your shoulder and grins until you’re defenseless.
love doesn’t always work the way you want it to, you suppose.
as soon as the two of you say the words—as soon as satoru finally lets his unbreakable guard down—it seems… ridiculous. juvenile.
of course you love him, and of course he loves you.
you never needed words to know that.

Rereading early ORV and I have some THOUGHTS on Kim Dokja. In typical me fashion, they are unpopular. So if he's your absolute favourite character and seeing him be criticized will ruin your day, maybe skip this post, ok? Peace.
-
What is so novel and interesting about Kim Dokja is that he GENUINELY doesn't really have a knee jerk emotional reaction of outrage and empathy when seeing injustice happen. He sees something immoral and bad, but doesn't FEEL horrified and disgusted. Emotions don't drive him to attempt to fix the situation or save anyone.
Instead his moral compass is based on the simple logic that 'bad things happening should be prevented if there is an opportunity to prevent them.'
This philosophy is the most apparent in his actions in Chungmuro on the WHOLE, with the food and marginalized group and etc. But I will point out this moment in particular as an example of what I mean.
They see women be driven to prostitution to survive. Jung Heewon has an instinctive, human reaction of outrage and disgust, wants to rush in and save them and damn the consequences, while Kim Dokja is calm and rational, holding her back and saying those woman will starve if they try to help right now.
This lack of empathy (feeling strong emotions) is definitely due to childhood trauma stunting his emotional development but... that doesn't change the fact this is a legitimate part of his personality now.
Usually, when a character is 'cold and ruthless', it's because they are repressing their true feelings and forcing themselves to be unfeeling for some goal. Like Yoo Joonghyuk, for example.
But we are IN Kim Dokja's head and get to see the way he thinks, and being 'unfeelingly rational' IS what comes naturally to him.
Before you say anything, I know the Fourth Wall represses some of his emotions in certain situations and certainly helps him deal with pain and horror. But we are ALWAYS TOLD when it's active, and it isn't in these moments.
Blaming all of Kim Dokja's less than moral thoughts and behavior on the 4th wall even when there's no indication that it's influencing him at that particular moment, is not something I want to do as it feels like an attempt to scrub away his moral greyness. I choose to believe that his narration, in moments when he's not wrong or biased or 4th wall-ed, is a basically accurate representation of his character. I think the authors didn't make his narration totally 100% unreliable all the time, with no possible indication of where he's wrong or right. Because that would mean there is nothing a reader can latch onto and draw conclusions about KDJ from.
If they wanted to write about a faceless self insert with no concrete personality traits and flaws, a person you can headcanon to be anything, they wouldn't have written ORV.
I think it's okay to acknowledge Kim Dokja's first reaction to seeing a woman about to be raped is not 'oh my god...those bastards...! I have to stop this...!' but '...she might be dangerous or a hinderence in a future...'
We don't need to make excuses here and try to justify this. A moment later he catches himself thinking like this and 'shudders with disgust at himself.'
His first, instinctive thoughts that he can't control don't necessarily make him a bad person. What matters is his second thoughts and what he actually chooses to do, which he CAN control. I ALSO don't think he's wrong to feel disgusted at himself for having low empathy. His guilt is justified.
I genuinely like him even more for always picking the 'moral option' in every scenario now, than if he did it immediately with no hesitation. Because it makes empathy and compassion a constant choice he's making, and putting in the effort reflects well on what his values are.
Kim Dokja legitimately can't help but weigh everyone he meets on a scale of how 'useful they potenially are' first and foremost. He does this with strangers and also with all of kimcom too.
"Who should I save because they would be useful in the future? I wasn't Yoo Joonghyuk to be thinking about these things." At this point, chap 74, he thinks Yoo Joonghyuk is wrong and doesn't want to be like him at all and mostly calls him a psychopath. He thinks 'acting like him' is wrong and undesirable.
He has a mini arc about Yoo Joonghyuk later, goes from 'he's a bad person, I know it because I know everything about him' in chap 81 to 'maybe I don't know him at all' in chap 82 but this is before that.
Seeing people as tools and deciding who to save based on future knowledge is a thing BOTH of them do. Yet Kim Dokja critisizes Yoo Joonghyuk for it, it's his least favourite character trait that YJH of TWSA has.
And in typical Kim Dokja fashion, this similarity between them is exactly what he despises in Yoo Joonghyuk - but now we find out it's not because he finds it amoral ("I'm not a humanist" - he doesn't care about that part) but because he sees it as a mirror reflection of himself. He's projecting, as always!
In early ORV, he hates the part of Yoo Joonghyuk that is the most similar to himself. (even tho they're sort of the polar opposites too. Yoo Joonghyuk is a deeply emotionally driven person, he feels empathy and the desire to save everyone but chooses to repress and ignore this and act like a ruthless 'psychopath'. KDJ disagrees with this choice, as Kim Dokja IS an unfeeling psychopath (low empathy) but does his best to act like a decent person and not an edgelord.)
#dont ask how much of 'JUST LIKE MEEEEE!!!!' i had to cut from this you wont like the answer#but yes. kdj is giving aspd realness in every chapter and im tired of pretending otherwise#kim dokja#omniscient reader's viewpoint#orv#my posts#oh this post was supposed to be about hsy and kdj relationship but i ran out of space lol

Surprise, Surprise, Greg House
Word Count: 1.1k~
Surprising Greg at work is always fun. Most of the time, he's messing around with the items on his desk until I walk in which ultimately causes him to perk up right away. I'm always happy to see him, and going by the smile that pops up on his face when he first sees me, Greg is happy to see me too. Plus, it always helps that we've been together for several years too.
"House, you have a guest," Wilson states, quickly popping his head into the doorway of Greg's office before popping right back out. Watching him walk back to the elevators, I wave at Wilson before opening Greg's door.
"Surprising," I hear Greg mindlessly mutter before I walk in. Once he sees me, he lightly smiles and changes his words. "Not surprising," He corrects himself, sitting up in his chair. "But pleasant."
"I brought you lunch," I tell him, gesturing to the bag in my hand with a smile. Placing the paper bag on his desk, I sit down in the chair across from him with his desk separating us. "That way you don't have to steal anyone else's."
"You know me so well," Greg chides, placing the magazine in his hands down before opening the bag of food. Taking all of the contents out of the bag reveals two sandwiches and two bags of chips with a bottled drink for each one. "Funny," He notes. "These are the things I would have stolen from Wilson."
Laughing at his sad, yet true comment, I separate everything out and place a Reuben sandwich in front of each of us, Greg already digging into one of the yellow bags of potato chips. "I'm glad I got to come see you today," I confess, the sight of the food making me feel a little sick. "I have some... great news to share."
"Oh, really?" Greg asks, looking up at me. I nod, smiling as he pushes his chair back a little. "Well, then why don't you come over here and tell me all about it?" He suggests with that ever so sly smirk.
Knowing what that means, I gently roll my eyes and stand from my chair before walking over to Greg and sitting on his lap. Instantly, he wraps his arms around me and holds me close, leaning up a little to kiss my lips. This is one of the very few ways Greg shows his love. He always says it's because he gets to hold me closer to him, but I think it's just because I'm sitting on his lap.
"You know," he begins his sentence, nibbling at my neck. "With one simple movement, you instantly have me at your will. How odd is that?" Greg questions me, his voice sultry and low. Smiling at him, I lightly giggle before pushing him away enough so he can look straight at me.
"Greg, I need to tell you something," I state, my voice a bit serious. Even though I'm trying to keep a straight voice without letting my excitement show through, I keep my smile in hopes of him not getting worried. I hope this news finds him well, and it doesn't make him mad or angry... I don't know what I would do if he left me because of it.
Leaning back in his swivel chair to look at me, he continues smiling while running his hand up and down my side. "Go on," he encourages me, his blue eyes staring into mine. "I'm listening, my sweet."
My cheeks slightly blush at the endearment before I look away, sudden nervousness hitting me. "I'm, uh, I'm..." Just as I begin to speak, I choke up before sighing. "I'm pregnant, Greg," I fully answer him, having the guts to look him straight in the eye as I do so.
He takes a moment to listen to me, only to fully realize what I'm saying within seconds. In shock, he stares at me with wide eyes before breaking out into a nervous chuckle. "You're serious, right?" He asks, making my eyebrows furrow. My reaction causes him to become worried as his smile drops. "Please don't be joking," Greg begs, placing his hands on my arms.
His words slightly... befuddle me. Is the cold and emotionless House actually excited about me being pregnant? For him to question me to make sure I'm not joking makes me... I don't know what it makes me actually.
Does Greg want a child? I know we didnt plan this little one, but there's no going back now. I mean, Greg is quite a few years older than me and I would've never thought he'd want a kid this late in life, but Gregory House is Gregory House. If there's one thing that signifies Gregory House, it's that he's weird and unusual, and he never conforms to what is socially acceptable.
"No, I'm not joking, Greg," I tell him, placing his hands on my stomach. "There's a little baby right here," With Greg staring up at me with big eyes and an equally big smile, tears quickly make their way to my eyes. "You're going to be a father," I whisper, leaning forward and placing my forehead against his.
A few moments of silence pass before Greg grins and wraps his arms tighter around me. In a quick turn of events, he stands up with our feet planted on the ground and his arms still around me, a giggle falling from my lips as he does so. Before I know it, Greg is moving my shirt up to place his hands on my barely swollen tummy, resting them there as I hug him to me as well. “Thank you,” He murmurs, smiling before connecting our lips in another kiss. At the same time, he moves his hands to my waist to hold me there, his hold reflecting the passion behind our kiss.

Shoko Just Can't be Right [2]
a series of snapshots of your life with geto and gojo -> this part: what if shoko's convinced and maybe she's just right?
a/n: finally wrote the second part.... hehe.
pairing: satosugu x f!reader, shoko x f!reader
read the other parts here: one - two - three - four
-
"There is no way."
"Uh, yes, there is."
Sending Shoko a blank look, you scoff.
But, as per her style, she doesn't relent.
"Y/N," she deadpans, reaching across the desk to take your hands in her own, squeezing them enough to pull your gaze on her's once again. "I say this with complete and utter confidence, they're in love with you."
"Shoko," you call back, mimicking her tone; "they're in love with each other."
"True," she offers with a light shrug. "But also you."
Your mind blanks with the utter disbelief and ridiculousness of it all. "Is that even... possible? I mean, to be in love with two people at once?"
You didn't think so.
"Probably," she shrugs, "I mean with love anything's possible, right?"
And you can tell with the shit-eating grin on her face, she's finding this all too funny. Honestly, if you were on her side of things, you'd probably get a kick out of the whole thing as well but alas, you weren't and it wasn't easy to ignore the crushing of your heart as the hope you're desperately trying to hold back tries to sliver it's way past.
Ugh. Hope. What an entirely stupid and ridiculous--
"They do say that."
Back straightening, every muscle in your body tightens at the sound of Gojo's voice. It was, honestly, the last person you wanted to hear right that second; by default just because it was, well, him, but also because with Gojo, Geto was usually trailing behind...
A glance over your shoulder tells you you're correct.
Just as you thought.
You catch Shoko perking up out of the corner of your eye, and instantly a sense of dread floods you; this cannot be good.
"What are you two talking about?" Geto asks, coming to a stop next to Gojo, hands shoved leasurely into his pocket, brow raised with curiosity.
"Well—"
"Nothing!" You cut in sharply before Shoko can finish, sending her a glare over your shoulder (to which she rolls her eyes), pushing yourself to your feet. "Actually, we should be going because we—"
"Awehhh!" A loud whine cuts you off, eyes flickering over to Gojo whose slumped over dramatically; "but I was hoping you'd wanna hang with us."
Hang with them?
Alone?
That sounds like both a blessing and absolute nightmare. Especially with the thoughts that Shoko has invested in your mind—you could barely look at them now without thinking about her words; they're in love with you. God, why did she have to go around telling you that?
Making you think—for even just a secondthat that could ever be true.
Because it wasn't. Obviously.
Geto and Gojo loved each other. That was true. Yes, that had been true since the very first moment you'd laid eyes on the both of them. The last to join them in their first year. The two of them, including Shoko, had already gotten aquainted with one another (some more than others). The three of them had spent four whole months with just them and no one else and had been able to bond.
And then you came in.
Clueless about the jujutsu world and about what a jujutsu sorcerer even was. Your whole world had been turned upside down and you were far outside of your element.
And yet, despite all that, you'd walked into that classroom that day and amongst Gojo's rather cocky greeting, Geto's simple one and Shoko's enthusiastic one (she'd expressed her fondness quite plainly for no longer being the only girl), you'd seen how much Geto and Gojo loved each other.
They were pretty obvious about it, even if at the time neither of them had known about the other's feelings.
So, yes, Shoko couldn't be right. She knew she wasn't saying it all to be mean, she wasn't like that—clearly she'd seen or heard something that had lead her to this incorrect assumption.
Because that's all it was.
An assumption.
One you wouldn't let yourself be swayed by for one second.
"Y/N?"
Blinking, you're pulled from your thoughts with a snap, focusing in on Geto who's leaning down to meet your gaze, concerned, with a baffled Gojo slightly behind him, the both of them looking at you rather intensely.
And, when you turn your head to the right, Shoko's gone.
"Are you okay?"
"Where..." Your words trail, in disbelief.
"Oh," Geto mumbles, pulling back as he realizes where you're looking. "She left for a smoke, said that she didn't mind rescheduling your plans. I do believe she added to the end of it, 'anything to get Gojo to shut up'."
"Hey!"
That sneaky little—
You turn to face both boys, quite honestly dumbstruck.
But then Gojo is shoving his face in yours, grinning; "so? Let's go!"
You sputter; "wh-where?"
-
To a sweets cafe. That's where.
Gojo all but drags you there, ignoring your protest to at least let you change, simply calling over his shoulder that; 'you look adorable!' which absolutely was not true. You hadn't worn your uniform that day since it wasn't a school day, and you and Shoko had had plans to spend the day together campus which had lead you to wear a simple skirt with an oversized sweater over it. You weren't expecting to leave or go out or least of all be going out with both Geto and Gojo or else you would've probably dolled yourself up at least a little.
Which, yes, Gojo's words, albeit simple, did leave you even more flustered, cheeks flushed and stuttering for a response all whilst Geto chuckled lightly behind you, clearly amused to himself.
But both Geto and Gojo are dominating of your time and don't allow you even a second of an escape, chatting your ears off happily whilst Gojo goes to the counter to order an array of sweet, leaving you and Geto to find a table.
You have to admit that the cafe is quite cute and the sweets you'd managed to grab for yourself (with the help of Geto, who promptly slapped Gojo's hand away when he tried to steal one of them) were delicious. Geto had gone back to the counter to order you a drink and although you weren't always used to be with either of them alone, the two of them were chatty enough that you didn't feel awkward or tense with silence.
It wasn't that you didn't get along with them. You did. Despite your rocky first impression of Gojo, you got along with the both of the extremely well.
But that was at school. In class. Or, at the very least, with Shoko. You weren't used to having to fend off the both of them and although you cared for them both greatly, they were both intimidating in different ways.
In ways you weren't.
Shoko always said you were too quiet. Too easy. You said yes to anything someone asked you of and you didn't often argue even if it wasn't something you weren't comfortable with. It had taken Shoko months before you properly opened up to her, but Geto and Gojo were confident and skilled and people seemed to bend over backwards for them just because, well, they were them.
People treated them differently than they treated you because you were quiet where they were loud, nervous where they were confident, and soft where they were hard.
(Little did you know that Geto and Gojo absolutely adored this about you—despite how incredibly self-conscious you were about it yourself).
Still, the day goes on well. And you find yourself rather enjoying their company.
You've all been there for just over an hour when you excuse yourself to the washroom, slipping past Geto in a way that has your cheeks burning red and flustered as you make your way to the ladies room.
It's on your way back that things take a bit of a downward shift.
A firm hand wraps itself around your upper arm, halting you in your tracks and pulling a surprised gasp from your lips as your world is tilted on it's axis briefly.
Then, suddenly, there's a group of boys surrounding you.
"Hey," one of them smiles at you, though it's all cold and no warmth. "Do you go to school around here? Don't think we've seen you before."
"And I think we'd remember a face like yours." Another one pipes up, your head shifting to the right to find him towering over you.
The one on your left steps closer, smirking down at you. "Noticed it as soon as you walked in here," he grins, wide and menacing. His eyes drift across you, low in a way that makes your chest tighten uncomfortably, then back up to your eyes. "You new?"
They're too close.
"N-No," you force out, shaking your head as you try to push them away. "Sorry, my-my friends are—"
"Yeah, those two guys, right?"
A hand falls on your back, and you tense.
"We could show you a far better time, you know?"
"Yeah," a laugh, "why settle for them, when—"
Another hand falls on you. But it's different. Warmer. Familiar.
You're pulled away and tucked against a chest, glancing up to see Geto's familiar figure looming behind you, his gaze threatening but it instantly softens as he glances down at you.
Gojo steps in front of you, blocking you from their view.
"I do believe you're making Y/N uncomfortable," Gojo grounds out and his voice is so unlike anything you've ever heard. It's dark, cruel, all trace of his usual goofiness and teasing gone.
You can't see his face, but if it's anything like Geto's, you're sure the face matches his tone.
"I would fuck off now." Geto growls from behind you, low enough you feel his chest rumble in reaction. "Before we make you."
You don't see it. Geto doesn't let you. But none of the three boys even get a word out before they're scampering off with paled skin and pleading cries of mercy, racing out of the cafe and not sparing another glance back.
What—
Gojo spins to face you and he's grinning, wide and bright, stepping towards you. "Sorry about that darling," he calls out, ruffling your hair. "We got worried when you took a while to come back."
"Should've called for us," Geto mumbles, squeezing your shoulder in a soft, reassuring sort of way. "Let us know you were in trouble."
Gojo's hand falls on your cheek, cupping it, face suddenly serious but not in the same menacing way as before but concerned. "We'll always come when you're in trouble."
Geto nods; "so, don't feel afraid to rely on us."
They're in love with you.
Shoko's word taunt you in the back of your mind, completely stunned by Geto and Gojo as they move to walk, neither of them letting go of you, Geto's hand on your back and Gojo's hand wrapped around yours, leading out of the cafe.
They're close. They still close. Refusing to slip away.
I mean with love anything's possible, right?
Shoko just couldn't be right. She just couldn't...
Could she?

A few weeks ago someone in my inbox asked me what I thought of AFO and of I ever thought he was a proper villain.
My answer is simple: he was.
At first AFO was a mentor. where All Might struggled to teach, AFO excelled.
Always finding a way to turn every play into a learning opportunity.
He allows for the USJ to heppen so he can Tomura "show" that collaboration is important, he uses Stain's rejection to teach Tomura that he has to use tact. He uses the Training Camp to prove that there is strength in numbers
AFO always thinks ahead, he learns from his mistakes and that makes him deadlier than the HPSC could ever hope to be.
The Nomu are a great example of this, the USJ Nomu was a great start, although I suspect it was designed to fail. It served as an excellent display of what a Nomu could be.
The Hosu Nomu failed because of a lack of armour and variety, so AFO made the Forest Nomu better.
The Forest Camp Nomu is seen wearing a helmet and has multiple quirks to account for it's blindspots.
The Forest Nomu failed due to a lack of awareness and intelligence, so Hood was designed specifically for his intelligence and his strength as to not be caught of guard.
(I suspect AFO left some notes for the doctor)
The Nomu came back stronger each time, the data collected was building up towards an optimized specimen( which we were supposed to see with the Finalized High Ends)
Each and every time AFO let Shigaraki use the Nomu, he was killing two birds with one stone.
Additionally, he supports Tomura while not smothering gum
Letting Tomura learn from his own experience (be it successes or failures) and forcing Tomura to learn restraint.
He prevents him from lashing out at any one individual (like he did w Kurogiri) by forcing him to actually work with his teammates.
AFO makes Tomura reflect on why he failed, he encourages Tomura's ventures constantly and gives him advice.
These are hallmarks of someone who wants to see their student succeed.
If that's not enough then there are two lines that solidify AFO'S original character:
The line that really settles me however, is this:
"Just When Tomura had begun to think for himself "
If Shigaraki really were just a puppet from the start, why would AFO go to all the trouble of guiding for him, teaching and training him. Letting him build a legacy of his own and support him.
Why would he hire Giran, after all it will all be for naught, so why waste resources?.
The simple answer is to blame Hori and inability to stay consistent in anything. (In the business we call this, having no fucking spine)
His Character
AFO's terror lay in his simplicity. Like AM, AFO is a man with a goal and he has the means to achive it, something he had worked for decades to achieve.
This is best demonstrated in his early mannerisms.
AFO never lies, he uses metaphors and technicalities to his advantage.
In the prison scene, he never lies about his goal, which was simple. Take out All Might with as a symbol and threat, while also getting Tomura to leave the nest.
He is also a show man, holding out on Tomura's history and turning his retirement into a spectacle to land a critical flow on his nemesis.
He's a master strategist, being able to predict the current state of society within his cell. He took everything AM loved, even going as far as to turn Tenko's tragedy into a triumph and spat on hero society in the process.
In short, AFO was the villain and when All Might walked out those doors, AFO was as good as dead.
The Downfall
Later, everything I mentioned was stripped and what we are left with is a gutted out husk, a shambling mockery of the genius we once knew.
After season 3, AFO might as well be dead because the leech that takes his place was probably the final nail in MHA's rapidly flooding coffin.
AFO goes from being a legitimate threat, a true symbol of evil. Someone so fearsome, that his mere presence causes visions of one's own death.
To a LARPer who's got as much depth as a kiddie pool, evil for the sake of evil.
From Symbol of Evil to (ugh) 'Demon Lord'.
This character is so far removed that I've taken to calling it 'The Husk'. As to me, AFO is canonically dead*.
This emptiness is even displayed in his musical themes
Where 'The Power of AFO' only needs a few simple instruments and hooks to instill dread, 'All For One Prime' falls flat.
The Power of AFO is dread inducing and it knows it. The song itself feels alive, like an unfathomable evil making it's presence known.
It reflects it's "master" with ease. It is dark, sophisticated and unlike any other piece heard in the series, it is quiet.
True power doesnt need to say it is powerful, it shows it through it's actions. Real power stays in the shadows
Meanwhile AFO Prime is lacking.
It's grandeous and "lighter" but that's it, beyond that it is hollow. Ironically representing what Hori did to MHA.
The theme is nice but ultimately uninspired, causing it to ring hallow when coupled with a failing plot that is speeding towards it's quiet demise.
Few more thing's before I check out.
Why the fuck did they change AFO's eyes.
It completely ruined the parallels between AFO, Tomura and Eri, while also the unspoken lore of:
Quirks that deviate from both their parents often share the group traits of (red eyes, white hair).
You know what fuck it, Red Eyed AFO is Canon, Hori can suck it.
Secondly I have a theory for why AFO had such a stark shift in personality (outside of Hori's bullshit)
From My Notes:
When AFO was defeated and saved by the Doctor, he remained in a coma for 2 years, regenerating the missing tissue and brain matter.
This stopped the brain damage and deterioration from getting worse (sort of putting it in stasis), however upon being defeated by AM again at Kamino, the brain damage was aggravated and began to slowly break down his metal state, causing him to become increasingly delirious overtime.
Due to Tartarus' less then ethical treatment and safety protocols, as well as the brainwave scanner not being designed to detect which issues. The issue went untreated, by the time Shigaraki broke into Tartarus, AFO was long lost to mania. So much so he failed to remember his own background and the orgins of those around him.
(Hence the change from Symbol (Pre Kamino, Menacing, Intelligent) of Evil to Demon Lord,)
[explaining why he didn't take Overhaul and why he changed from passing the torch to parasite in "canon" and why he was so out of character (idiotic)] Also explaing the lore inconsistencies throught the later chapters.
Just some food for thought.

Hi!!! Just wanted to say I love your writing and I have a request for Obi if you would be so kind. It’s kind of dumb but I just saw the picture of her with Gondolf on my fyp. So the inspiration comes from that.
Little Family - Maybe Obi & R are close friends that act in a way around one another that makes anyone looking on think that maybe there’s something more. Anyway R gets a gift from a young fan which is a teddy bear after a match during the international break and carries it around camp with her like if it were her kid. Obviously being close “friends” obi joins in on this, much to the teasing of their teammates who are pointing out when are they going to get married or something along those lines. Let’s just say that a teddy bear is the reason two long time friends confess their feelings.
Little family
It's super short - Part 1
Lena x reader
Lena Oberdorf Masterlist
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
"Oh my goodness! Can I keep it?!" you asked the young girl in the stands. She nodded eagerly to you. "Thank you, so much! Is there anything else you want me to sign?" initially you had stopped by to sign her shirt and the flag she held on to, after the game against the Netherlands.
"Can you get Obi? So she can also sign it?" she asked excitedly.
"Yes of course! I'll go get her." you walked over to your friend that was doing nothing but talking to your teammates and pulled her by the hand.
"Where are we going?"
"A fan wants to meet you. Look what she gave me!" you said showing her the stuffed animal. "she's the cutest." and soon there was Lena, signing the young fan's shirt and offering a picture.
"Y/N! Come here for the family picture!"
and you came close to them once again, holding your bunny up as she took the selfie.
After getting done with the fans, you headed inside, arms looped around each others.
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
You had grown quite attached to the bunny, that you had named Libby. So here you were walking into training the next week, with her in your arms.
"Do you go anywhere without it nowadays?" said Lea, your friend and teammate in both the national team and at Bayern.
"Why would I?"
"It's just a kids toy." she said.
And you jokingly let out an offended gasp. Covering Libby's ears.
"Don't listen to her baby!"
Lea only rolled her eyes, heading outside for training. You followed her, after placing the bunny sitting amongst your things.
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
"Are you sure you and Lena are just friends?" asked Georgia curiously. In truth she wasn't the only one confused about it. You two were always together, would never see one, without the other. Even your team's that once separated you by miles, no longer did, after Lena making the move to Bayern.
"Yeah." you kept your answer short and simple as always, afraid to say too much and end up letting out more than you should. Like how much you actually loved her.
For Obi the lines had also been blurred, it had been for sometime now.
When you got out of the shower after training, you saw Lena sitting down, on her phone, holding onto Libby. While you were gone, the girls had teased and questioned her quite a lot.
Her only defense was to say she was taking care of it, on your behalf.
Which was true.
But she adored holding on to it, since she couldn't hold onto you, the same way. It was the next best thing and it smelled just like you.
You smiled ear to ear at the sight. See her going along with it, and actually caring for something you loved, despite others thinking it was kind of stupid.
Felt like you had put a little family together. Even though it was just a plushy bunny, instead of a child and she was just your bestfriend, instead of your wife.
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
This request was so cute! Thank you for sending in Part 2 already out! It's a social media!au
Please send me more requests guys!

Okay so let's start simple. These ideas are based on The Soul's Playground on yt, and they resonates with me SO MUCH MORE than TRYING SO HARD to manifest ever did.
So the very first idea I want to explore is the idea that everything in your life is not only a reflection of what you are thinking/ believing/ holding onto, but it is all ALSO a metaphor for what you need to know.
So here's an example I found in my life recently. Manifesting, right? Manifesting for me always represented trying to get something that I didn't have. In doing so, I was always trying TOO HARD and neglecting my life. This is a metaphor for a few things in my life, and was trying to teach me some important lessons
My desires are meant for me, everything I want is ALWAYS coming to me. The best way I can get things is to move out of my own way
Moving out of the way= MAKING SPACE for the new. Basically, to let go of the past and to STAY IN THE PRESENT is the key!!! More on this in a second
The VERY BIGGEST thing manifesting was trying to show me is that EFFORT IS NOT NEEDED, BECAUSE I AM NOT BROKEN. I was always trying so so hard to create things, but there was never any need for that because everything I've ever wanted wants me too, and I am PERFECT JUST AS I AM
One of the biggest things I've learned from this so far, is that life is a reflection of all of the things you are holding onto. This includes past memories, beliefs, and any thoughts of the past OR the future. Basically, everything is always trying to come to you in the perfect way, and it has to push through all of the things that you are holding in your mind.
THIS IS WHY MEDITATION IS SO POWERFUL. Being in the present moment literally COLLAPSES the past and future into one moment, making it so the energy that creates your world doesn't have to push through all of this mental clutter.
In essence, you don't have to TRY. You don't have to BELIEVE or ASSUME anything. All you have to do is RELEASE THE OLD BELIEFS and MAKE SPACE for the new to come into your life by being STILL and SILENT.
The life circumstances you are going through are SHOWING YOU what you are holding onto. They aren't a problem that needs to be changed!!! THEY ARE THERE FOR YOU to see YOURSELF in another way!!! EVERYTHING IS YOU, everything is consciousness reflecting back to you what you are thinking/believing.
We need to release the idea that we can control this. Our higher selves KNOW when they are being lied to. Affirmations are truly just lies you want to be true. It is FAR MORE POWERFUL to say what's ACTUALLY HAPPENING out loud (i.e. I'm struggling to ___, I don't have ___, I want/need ___, etc), and to RELEASE that instead of trying to build something new on top of the old, crumbling story.
WE CAN TRUST LIFE TO BRING EVERYTHING TO US, our job is NOT to control, but to RELEASE and BE. Think about this: did you need any effort to desire? No?? That's because THAT DESIRE CAME FROM YOUR HIGHER SELF. IT IS MEANT FOR YOU!!! Your higher self is always trying to bring it to you, you just need to let go of your blockages and not create any more, by becoming an empty vessel/staying in the present moment!!!
Everything exists NOW. That INCLUDES all of our baggage. The only way for life to give us what we want is to LET GO of the past to release the future, and the only time you can let go is NOW.
THE CHANGE HAPPENS IN YOU. To create the new, you must BECOME NEW, which means LETTING GO OF THE OLD. Reality is neutral, so becoming neutral and being present is the BEST WAY to create something new. It is also the most sustainable, because everything always returns to a neutral position; your thoughts, your emotions, your circumstances- everything can go up and down, but it always returns to baseline!!
So how do you manifest? LET GO OF YOUR DESIRES, let go of your limiting beliefs, let go of TRYING, and just BE as you are NOW so your higher self can bring you what you need in this moment!!

Like bad lol. Then reader gets mad at Ellie, insisting she could've "handled it herself" but then ellie ends up accidentally saying she's in love with reader hence why she got so protective
i cant stop thinking about this omg.
ELLIE WILLIAMS X READER
mdni please<3
warnings: 18+!! mention of alcohol, catcalling, sa and just creepy guys overall, blood, fighting
writers note: writing this took my blood sweat n tears and im not sure wether it was worth it or not
while you and ellie had been close and even affectionate with one another, the nature of your relationship had always been that of simple friends. holding hands, sitting on her lap, or other romantic gestures seemed natural and casual between the two of you without any thought to anything more. however, you were both acutely aware that everyone believed you were romantically involved and you knew that was one reason you were still single.
when you were in ellie's room you began to notice little things. she had framed pictures of the two of you together, notes and sketches she had made about you, and a diary full of your name. dina and jesse kept teasing you about it, but 'isn't it what friends do?'
and, god, how oblivious you were.
one day, you took her out to a local bar, feeling the need to just drink and forget about everything for one night.
as you walked into the pub, you couldn't help but notice all the heads that turned to watch as you passed. it was like something in the air compelled you to turn to look at her. a familiar feeling of warmth ran through you and you instinctively reached out to take her hand. ellie giggled at your gesture, but didn't let go and you continued through the crowd which got already bored with your appearance.
it was just a normal night, the drinks making you a little tipsy and loosening your tongue, but everything was going just fine.
you saw a group of boys your age suspiciously eyeing you and ellie, their gaze mostly focused on you and your clothes.
well, that's true, you didn't put your everyday clothes on, but you had a good humour and felt like dressing up... actually, who am i trying to lie to? you wanted to look good for your friend.
she didn't notice the boys, but you did. your eyes met with the one in the leather jacket, and he looked away quickly. his group turned back to their beers, but you couldn't stop thinking about the way he glanced over at you.
the situation made you a little uncomfortable, but you played it cool and ignored the boys, turning your attention back to ellie. she was in her element, chatting away in a loud and lively fashion, her hands flying to emphasize whatever story she was telling. you couldn't help but let out a laugh as you took in the scene.
things were going just fine until one of the boys approached you. "hey, gorgeous." he said, in a voice that was trying just a little too hard to sound casual. "can we buy you a drink?"
ellie frowned, her gaze flickering between you and him. "she's not alone."
the boy tried again, undeterred. "i wasn't talking to you." he scoffed, his voice dripping with condescension as he turned to ellie, pointing you with his chin. "who wears a dress like that if they're not looking for a good time?"
ellie looked shocked for a moment, then her eyes narrowed. she leaned towards the boy, keeping her voice low. "this dress looks like it's worth more than you make in a month. now, leave us alone."
the boy laughed, turning his attention back to you, seemingly oblivious to the warning. "why don't you take off the dress and let us see what's underneath?"
you watched ellie open her mouth to answer for you again but you cut her off with a shake of your head and quiet 'let it go'. she looked at you, her mouth half open, as if she was waiting for your permission before starting her response. she rolled her eyes at you, but said nothing.
the boy seemed frustrated that his insult was met with no reaction. he jabbed his finger at you. "or maybe you're just a dyke?"
at that, ellie's eyes flew open. "the fuck did you just say?" she hissed, clenching her fists to the point her nails were digging into her palm.
you gripped her wrist, trying to pull her away. "ellie, come on–"
as things were just starting to escalate, a bartender rushed over, looking agitated. "hey, hey! none of that in here!" he pointed at him. "you, out now!"
the boy scoffed, as did his friends, but obediently left. you could hear him muttering complaints under his breath, but his voice faded away into the background din of the bar.
you kept close to ellie as the boys were led out.
ellie was still fuming, taking a few deep breaths. she looked up at you with daggers in her eyes. "why did you stop me? he deserved more than that." after a little pause she added; "no one will disrespect you like that. and no one can disrespect you when they're unconscious."
you weren't sure whether to be amused or horrified at her comment. "and how exactly were you planning on achieving that?" you asked, raising an eyebrow.
ellie smirked, taking your hand in hers. "you don't need to know. just know that i was prepared if things had gotten out of hand."
that answer did little to ease your skepticism. "you know you can't go around knocking people out like a character in a movie, right?"
ellie raised her eyebrows, staring at you with a challenging expression. "sure i can," she grinned, "if the situation calls for it.
"ellie," you said, "be serious." but ellie's confidence was charming, and you couldn't help but crack a little smile. "alright," you added. "just... try to keep your cool next time, alright?"
she nodded, squeezing your hand. "promise. no knocking heads unless i absolutely have to."
you decided to leave the bar shortly after, not in the mood to socialise anymore. she told you to wait outside as she, obviously, paid for the both of you.
the atmosphere outside wasn't so cozy - not only because it was cold and windy, but you also saw those boys there, smoking and laughing. you thought about going back inside but they didn't seem to notice you - well, not at first.
one of the boys spotted you and instantly smiled. he nudged his friend and said something you couldn't quite make out. the two of them laughed and started approaching you. "hey," the first one said, "is your little girlfriend taking too long in there? we could take you home and warm you up."
the thought of people thinking ellie is your girlfriend seemed funny but not new to you, so you ignored it.
you rolled your eyes at their comment, but kept your expression neutral. "no, thanks, but you might want to work on your pickup lines. 'warm you up?' really?"
the two boys exchanged a look and laughed. their friend said "oh, she's feisty. we like that."
you felt your stomach drop. ellie was still inside the bar and you had no clue how long she might be. not too long, you hoped. i mean, how long can paying for a few drinks take?
as if on cue, ellie opened the door and came out. she stopped dead in her tracks as she noticed the two boys who'd just been hitting on you.
she took a moment to take in the situation, then rolled her eyes and scoffed. you were relieved to see she was wearing a smirk that told you she was ready for whatever was coming.
the two boys stared at ellie, eyes darting from her to you and back again.
"oh, hey ellie." you exhaled, putting on your best fake smile. "good timing. we were just about to–"
ellie didn't give you the chance to finish. "sorry i took so long." her tone was friendly, but it was obvious she was trying to claim you as her territory. all three boys watched her in silence.
"can i help you, boys?" ellie said sweetly, her voice dripping with sarcasm. she put her arms around your waist, which only amplified her already mocking tone.
the boys watched her with leering eyes. the tall blonde one put his hand on his friend's shoulder. "we were just saying how pretty your friend is." he paused, raising an eyebrow. "she sure looks... hm, how do i describe it? slutty?"
at that, ellie's demeanor changed, and her previous smile faded. her look was cold as ice, and she clenched her fists again.
'this is getting out of hand'
"hey," the tall blonde said, "i bet there's something better under that dress." he pointed at you.
"yeah, there's a fucking gun." you hissed.
he didn't seem to take you seriously, as he should - you were in fact completely unarmed. the only weapon you had was... well, ellie. "we'd like to personally test that theory."
ellie's knuckles turned white. "i'm here with her."
"look, you can watch from a distance." the blonde laughed. "but me and my friends here are going to have a good time with a girl like this, whether she wants it or not."
you felt yourself flush with embarrassment. "oh, uh, no. we're just leaving." you said, grabbing ellie's wrist and trying to pull her away.
ellie wasn't having any of it. "go to the car and wait for me there." she whispered, tossing the keys to you.
"you're crazy." you whispered under your breath.
"just do it," ellie hissed. "i can handle them, and i don't want you getting involved."
'like i'm not involved already.'
it was impossible to argue against that last point, and you reluctantly followed her instructions.
you were surprised they didn't try to stop you but you realised they probably know what's going to happen.
as you opened the car door and got in, you watched the situation from the safety of the passenger's seat. the boys had surrounded ellie, one with his hand on her arm and the others laughing and pointing at you. you couldn't hear them but you guessed what they talked about. they were just little shadows in your eyes now, you barely could tell which one's ellie.
from your vantage point, you watched ellie and the three boys facing off. she spoke in a quiet, measured voice that you weren't sure you wanted to hear the contents of.
suddenly, you saw the blonde reach towards her. that was enough for her.
she slapped his hand away, and in a swift motion, kicked him in the groin. he let out a, silent for you, cry of pain and sank to the ground, while the others were still recovering from the surprise. ellie turned to them and and soon they were all on the ground. the blow knocked the last boy out cold. ellie quickly turned to the blonde, who was now sitting up and holding his injured part. without a word, ellie approached him and kneed between his legs just as he was about to stand up.
the boy groaned, dropping back to the ground. ellie reached down and grabbed him by the shirt. she hauled him back up, and raised her fist again. you turned away, not wanting to look at the scene and uncomfortably shifted in the passenger seat, hoping it'll be over soon.
she took her time. you didn't know what could they possibly say to piss her off that much but you didn't want to.
she approached the car and got in, not saying a word to you.
you didn't say a word either, you just watched her cautiously driving. your anger started to grow - at the boys, at the whole situation, even at ellie. what she did was just reckless, one of them could be armed... or have really good skills. plus, they barely touched you and the comments didn't really get to you anyway.
you let out a frustrated sigh and turned to her. "why did you have to make such a big deal out of nothing? i could have handled it just fine on my own."
ellie didn't look at you or even acknowledge your words. she kept driving, her attention focused on the road.
you weren't sure what to think, but it frustrated you that she was acting like this. 'why can't she just drop the tough girl act and admit she overreacted?'
you tried again. "ellie, come on, i know you were just trying to help, but–" you sighed. "just ignore me, i guess."
you turned to look out the window in annoyance, but then ellie spoke suddenly, her tone deadly serious. "you know i was right to do what i did."
you whipped your head around to look at her in surprise. "what do you mean?"
ellie looked straight ahead as she kept driving. "those guys would have taken advantage of you," she said quietly, "like it or not."
her words hit you like a ton of bricks. you sat in silence for a moment, trying to process what she said.
"but that's ridiculous," you frowned, "i wouldn't have let anything happen."
ellie shot you a look. "you really think you're the one in control of the situation? sweetheart, you have no idea. as soon as you let them talk to you, it was out of your hands."
you mockingly laughed. "oh, so i can't handle them but you can? what am i, a deer surrounded by lions?"
ellie sighed, shaking her head. "god, you're infuriating," she said, keeping her eyes on the road. "yeah, actually, you are like a deer surrounded by lions – completely oblivious to how predatory these men are."
she cast a sharp and serious glance at you, making you flinch.
"i can handle myself." you repeated, with growing annoyance. after a moment, you added; "why the fuck would you do that? you should mind your own business."
"i make it my business to look after my friends." ellie answered, still not looking at you.
you felt your blood boil, but you forced yourself to remain calm. "i don't want you to look after me, ellie. you are my friend, not my babysitter."
"oh, i'm sorry!" she shrugged, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "i thought friends protect each other!"
you scoffed at her last comment. "how exactly was i in danger?" you asked. "they barely even touched me!"
she sighed again, this time with irritation. "jesus, you were really lucky, alright? i get that you feel like your ego's been hurt by all this, and i'm sorry. but if i hadn't stepped in, you could have been hurt. maybe the situation wouldn't have escalated to violence, but i wasn't taking any chances." she looked at you, her expression softened and she seemed truly concerned. "do you understand?"
you huffed but your tone calmed down a little. "that was my problem, not yours."
"fine, it was your problem," ellie rolled her eyes. "just don't get mad at me for looking out for you."
"i'm not mad." you said, your tone turning defensive. "i'm annoyed you think i'm incapable of looking after myself."
her eyes fixed on you, cold and sharp. "you're lucky i was there."
she parked the car in front of your house, where she was supposed to sleep this night. at least, you planned it like that. now you'd prefer to be alone. you let her in anyway, hoping to talk about what happened in better circumstances.
as soon as you came in, you took some ice bags and went back to ellie. her knuckles were bloody red and swollen, even though she didn't seem to be hurt. she looked up and took the bag from your hand, but her expression was still stern.
"thanks." she said in a raspy monotone, holding it to her hands.
you cleared your throat awkwardly, hoping that the ice would help ease the situation. "ellie, i just want to say i appreciate what you did, but–"
she sighed and shook her head. "don't start."
"well, i was going to." you said, unable to hide your irritation. "you overreacted. i don't need your help. it was my problem to deal with."
ellie stayed silent for a moment, as if contemplating what you just said. "i might have overreacted," she admitted, "but i still don't regret what i did."
you sighed and threw your hands up in frustration. "we're just going around in circles here. why can't you understand that i can handle myself? i don't need you. i didn't ask for your help. i don't understand why you just have to get all protective over me."
ellie sighed, dropping the ice bag to her side. her voice was still calm, but with a hint of anger. "i was trying to look out for you. i was trying to do something nice, and you just keep yelling at me for it."
you felt your confusion growing even more. "but- why?"
she shook her head in disbelief. "because i love you."
the air seemed to suck out of your lungs when she said that. her words were unexpected, and you wanted to know if you heard her right. "what did you say?"
ellie chuckled and nodded, her expression almost teasing but still nervous and even a little aggresive. "i said i love you, of course."
you couldn't reply, too stunned to speak. you just stared at her, feeling the familiar heat on your cheeks rise.
she clicked her tongue at your obliviousness. "that's why i'm so protective. that's why i couldn't just ignore how they talked to you."
you just blinked, still unable to process what she said.
ellie must have sensed your confusion, because she continued. "i'm not your babysitter, alright? you're a big girl. you can take care of yourself– but that's not what i meant." she took your hand in hers. "i'm worried about you because i love you."
the realization of what she'd said suddenly hit you like a train, and you felt your heart race. for what felt like an eternity, you just stared at her, still not believing what you were hearing.
ellie just smiled, a little bit embarrassed, as if she hadn't just made one of the most profound declarations of love imaginable.
"so," she said quietly, "can you forgive me now?"
her tone was so innocent, so sincere, that it seemed almost cruel to keep arguing with her. it seemed cruel that you ever did.
in the end, you nodded. "yeah, i can."
that was all it took for ellie's expression to light up.

✦ a really old minitheory about jax that had been left in my drafts for nearly a year
title is pretty self-explanatory.
// spoilers for the pilot episode of TADC
so, this is actually an old theory that i had created back when the pilot first came out—but i decided that it’s worth sharing now. basically, it summarizes what i think could possibly be a reason behind our favorite rabbitoid’s behavior.
take everything with a grain of salt. (^^)
this might sound like a weird place to start from, but i swear there’s a line of thinking behind it—what could be some of the reasons that a character abstracts?
at the very least, we know for sure that abstraction occurs if a character’s mental state entirely collapses—which could happen for a myriad of reasons. mental breakdown, existential crisis, you name it.
however, the most important effect that comes with abstraction is that they completely lose their sense of identity—which is also shown externally with the abstracted character’s appearance.
this led me to think that a possible reason for abstraction could also play into identity—whether that’s losing it, somehow messing with it one way or another, or, in a crazy scenario, doing something (aka recovering original memories, for example) that would cause them to clash with their current identity. things like that. obviously there’s some very strong theories out there as to what could also be other reasons for abstracting, but for now i’ll stick with the simpler explanations.
okay, but what does this have to do with jax?
basically, i needed to set up the previous context in order to be able to explain a possible reason for jax’s… jacka$$ery. yeah. that works.
as far as i can tell, it looks like he’s essentially being mean to everyone else just for the sake of it. from (allegedly) placing a centipede in ragatha’s room, to constantly bullying gangle, to pretty much every snide comment in general—it seems that he’s completely cemented his role as the “mean guy” of the series. but what if that was his goal?
the reason why i partly discussed identity in the abstraction section is because, to me, it seems like jax is setting up his own identity as the rudest and most chaotic character in the cast as a way to ensure his survival in this digital world for as long as possible. or in other words, this identity of his is something he can consistently fall back onto no matter what happens, which allows him to keep his mental stability a bit better than others. it’s a simple role that was developed only within the context of the digital circus, and he seems completely comfortable with staying in it.
additionally, here are some other circumstances where he could just fall back on his “identity”— - something bad happens to him? sure, let’s call it karma. - in the event that he does something that causes a bit too much destruction? it’s fine, he’s supposed to be the guy that would do something like that anyways. (edit: he did exactly this in episode 2. just my luck. help me.) - hurts someone on accident? wouldn’t be out of the question. maybe even intentionally if the time calls for it.
overall, it feels like his current place as the “rude character” makes it a lot easier for him to stay consistent and keep things less complicated. being nice is difficult and nuanced, you may unintentionally hurt someone by saying the wrong thing—but if you’re already known to harm people one way or another, there’s absolutely no mistakes you can make.
and for jax, it’s a way to keep himself grounded while causing a ton of chaos on the side—which he seems to like doing, so it works. this is pretty much a foolproof method of survival for him; at least, until something happens which he doesn’t expect.
but this is all just speculation. feel free to chime in with some of your own insights (´∀`*)
———
edit: yes, this is pretty old haha. but i think it still somewhat holds true for episode 2, so i’m posting it for now. would be kinda funny if i was entirely wrong about this though ( ̄ ̄)

Popularity- Cross Guild's Day Off 2 (Cross Guild x Reader)
Summary: In which you work with the three Cross Guild officers and Buggy attempts to prove his popularity through a poll. Of course, it's never as simple as it really should be in Cross Guild.
Rating: SFW/Crack
Word Count: ~3k
Notes: No relationships are defined, so feel free to headcanon whatever you want. I know it says x Reader up there and I wrote it in mind that it's a weird ass polycule but I made sure to leave it ambiguous for your reading pleasure. Made in mind with part 1, but can be read as standalone. Features cameos from Alvida, Galdino, and Daz Bones.
A/n: I love these three goofballs so like feel free to request stuff with them or what scenarios you'd like to see them in please???
Read Part 1 here! Read this chapter on my AO3 here!
“It’s really not fair! It’s not fair at all!” Buggy screamed. Mihawk, Crocodile, and you sighed at whatever it was that seemed to be, well, bugging Buggy.
“Will you stop your complaining? Some of us are actually trying to do work here,” Crocodile growled while his fingers continued clicking away on the calculator. “(Y/n), go and hand me the reports for-,”
“Right here, Sir,” you said as you handed him the stack of papers he wanted. Crocodile smirked proudly while his eyes narrowed at Buggy.
“See, why can’t you be like (Y/n)? They know how to get work done.”
“Wha-! I get work done! Plenty of work!”
“Juggling isn’t work.”
“Is too!” Buggy stomped his foot.
“Hardly,” Mihawk chimes in.
“Grrr… you two are just jealous of me! Jealous of how I’m the Star Clown and you two will just be boring, old men!”
Mihawk and Crocodile glanced at each other knowingly and rolled their eyes.
“You’re still bothered by the fact you were not important enough to have any good cards in the deck, aren't you?” Mihawk states bluntly, not bothering to be gentle with Buggy’s fragile ego.
“SHUT UP!!! SHUT UP!!!!” Buggy shouted, gaining the attention from his subordinates outside the office.
“Aw… someone’s upset,” Crocodile teased. You huffed at the two stoic ex-warlords and tried to soothe Buggy.
“Buggy, it’s alright. They’re just silly cards. Look around you, you have so many employees happy to work for you because they really admire you as captain,” you say genuinely while patting his head. Buggy sniffles and nods.
“You’re right, (Y/n), you’re right,” Buggy agrees. He wipes his eyes and nose with his hand before he bounces back to life, clenching his fists. “That’s very true! All these people love me and would die for me! So those card makers don’t know anything! I’m the most popular one here!”
“Wait, what…” you wince, while Crocodile and Mihawk groan.
“Thanks, (Y/n), now he’s gonna do something stupid again,” Crocodile sighed.
“Buggy, all I’m saying is-” you try to fix your error, but Buggy shakes his head.
“Nope! You just gave me an amazing idea!”
“Here we go again,” Mihawk mumbles.
“W-what’s the idea?” You ask Buggy.
“Obviously, to really settle the matter, we need to hold a popularity contest!” Buggy proclaims.
“We really don’t have to. No one cares about this except you,” Crocodile says blandly while he opens the folder you gave him.
“Haha! You’re just saying that because you know deep down that I will win when it comes to Cross Guild!” Buggy eggs Crocodile on. “They love me here!”
“I really don’t care-”
“So, to finally gather once and for all who the most popular is-”
“God damn it.”
“I’m going to poll the others!” Buggy announces, grabbing a random clipboard from your desk.
“Isn’t that rather biased?” Mihawk asked.
“Biased? What are you talking about?” Buggy raises his brow. “You think Imma lie about this?”
“Yes,” all of you respond. Buggy lets out an offended gasp and frowns.
“Well then, what do you suggest, smart guy?” Buggy yells at Mihawk.
“Having only you go around and then return with results will obviously not be the most accurate. We need to send a third party that won’t lie,” Mihawk explains.
The three men turn to look at you.
“Why do I have to do it?” You fold your arms. “I have work to do!”
“I’ll pay you extra for this week in order to have Buggy shut up,” Crocodile states.
“Do you think I can be swayed so easily with money?”
“Yes,” the three men respond. You swipe the clipboard from Buggy.
“Damn right I am,” you state as you pick up your favorite pen from your desk.
“Now then, since you’re going to be polling, I expect truthful and honest answers,” Mihawk demands. “No one can lie or cheat this.”
“Before we do this, none of you are allowed to know who voted for who,” you add. “I’m not having you fire or hunt down some poor employee because they voted for Mihawk or something.” “Well that won’t happen,” Buggy comments. “No one is gonna vote for Mihawk to begin with.”
Now it’s Mihawk’s turn to be offended. “What do you mean by that, Buggy? Do I need to silence you for good?”
“Eek! All I’m saying is, you hardly ever step out of the office or interact with anyone!”
Mihawk stays silent then mumbles, “I interact with others…”
“Oh really? Name one person you’ve interacted with,” Crocodile demands.
“You can’t do that, either,” Mihawk counters.
“That’s just because I don’t give a shit about these people’s names. I still talk to them, though,” Crocodile corrects.
“Fine, (Y/n)!” Mihawk huffs.
“They don’t count.”
“Why don’t they?” Mihawk crosses his arms.
“Because we all see them every day in this office,” Crocodile chides Mihawk. “Name someone.”
“Okay, I guess I cannot name anyone,” Mihawk relents. “Not that it matters in the slightest, by the way. This is a silly and pointless little game.”
“See? No one is gonna vote for you!” Buggy laughs.
“I guess I should kill you now, Buggy,” Mihawk says as he draws Yoru.
“Gaaaahhh! No! Please don’t!” Buggy cries, latching onto you for safety.
“Buggy, please let go,” you sigh. The clown does so shakily and you begin to write on the paper in your clipboard. “Okay… Buggy, Crocodile, Mihawk. There we go. I’ll go around and ask, then. See you guys later.”
“Before you go,” Crocodile begins. You turn to hear him out while he has a big shit-eating grin on his face. “If you’re going to talk to Mr. 3… knock before you enter.”
Your eyes practically bulge out of their sockets from what this could mean as you nod and exit the office.
“Why the hell did you say that?” Buggy questions. Crocodile chuckles, taking a puff from his cigar as he shakes his head.
“Oh, they’ll see soon enough.”
-
“Favorite head of Cross Guild?” An employee scratches his head. His coworker beside him does the same.
“Wait, uh, they’re not gonna kill us for answering this, are they?” The other one asks.
“Crap, you’re right. Is this some way to weed us out or something?”
You shake your head. “No, no, not at all! This is just a… uh… thing they’re testing for some new merchandise,” you lie.
“Ah,” the two men nod along. “That makes so much sense.”
“Buggy,” the first man states.
“Mmm… yeah, Buggy,” the second adds. “He never harps on us like Sir Crocodile.”
You thank them for the response and tally it to the votes.
“I guess Buggy was right,” you mumble to yourself, seeing as he currently had seven votes out of the seven people you asked. “Maybe we could send these results in to those cardmakers and get a cut of the merchandising.”
Just as you’re about to walk away, Alvida strolls into the room.
“Oh, Alvida! Good morning,” you smile at her. “Can I have a moment of your time?” “(Y/n), dear,” Alvida runs a hand through her hair. “What do you need from the most beautiful woman of the sea?”
“Well, the higher-ups wanted to run a poll,” you show her the paper. “Please vote for your favorite head of Cross Guild.”
She studies the paper for a moment and purses her lips. “Hmm… you know what, I vote for you.”
“What?”
“What? Just put a tally for you,” Alvida suggests nonchalantly.
“But, um, I’m not a head of Cross Guild,” you argue.
“So? You practically are their fourth one. I’m sure they won’t mind. And if they do, they can take it up with me,” Alvida brushes your concerns aside and takes the pen from you. She writes your name down and adds a tally.
“Can I ask why you want to add me?”
“Simple, dear.” Alvida chuckles. “You’re not like those brutes upstairs. You get worked to the bone by them yet still retain your own sense of self. Do you know what that is?”
“No, I don’t think I know what that is-”
“Passion!” Alvida throws her arms in the air. “You are passionate, clean, stylish, and most of all, you are quiet! If anyone is worthy of my vote and attention- it is you!”
“Wow, thank you,” you comment, impressed that Alvida actually gave you a nice compliment.
“Yes, yes, well, what do you think about becoming my assistant instead of working for them?” Alvida winks.
“Ah sorry, I’m pretty happy where I am right now,” you quickly shut down. Alvida clicks her tongue.
“Hm… perhaps you’d prefer to be my partner instead? You would be a good match by my side.”
“Would you look at the time!” You awkwardly laugh. “Bye, Alvida!”
“Bye, darling. Don’t worry though, we’ll pick this conversation up another time~,” she waves. You sigh in relief as you walk away that she didn’t mace you immediately. Still, there’s work to be done.
You walk into the staff lounge and greet the other members there, who cheerfully greet you back.
“Sorry to bother you guys, but if you could just fill out this poll, that would be great. And don’t worry, no one will know of the results, so please be as honest as you can!”
The clipboard gets passed along by the staff members, who quickly add a tally mark to the poll. In less than a minute, all twenty people in the lounge have responded.
“Wow, thank you guys. You guys are quick,” you joke, taking back the clipboard.
“The choice was obvious,” one of the employees answers, and the others nod. You wonder who they voted for when you look at the paper, only to see your name has now over twenty marks attached to it. Your eyes widen and you politely thank the others as you step out of the room.
It was one thing when Alvida did as she pleased, but now the others were voting for you in droves. You took a deep breath. Crocodile, Mihawk, and Buggy surely wouldn’t kill you for this, would they? After all, Alvida herself said they could bring it up with her. Yeah, that was okay. This was just a silly joke anyways.
You continue to collect polls, feeling touched yet also nervous when you found that every employee had checked you off as their favorite. It got so bad that you had to use a second page to collect all the tallies that the employees were adding to your name.
As the number of employees left to ask dwindled, you remembered to get Daz Bones and Galdino’s polls. You figured the choice would be clear for them- Crocodile. After all, they were very loyal to him and even continued their work relationship into Cross Guild. It would also allow for Crocodile to at least get some vote from his current tally at zero.
You had scoured for them all around the base, but didn’t find any sign of their presence. Just as you were about to give up, you found Daz Bones peacefully sitting, probably waiting for his next assignment.
“Daz! Can I-”
“(Y/n), I have no interest,” he cut you off.
“It’s for Crocodile,” you add, knowing he wouldn’t participate otherwise. Daz nods and then urges you to step closer. You show him the clipboard and he raises a brow.
“Crocodile really cares about this sort of thing?”
“It’s mostly because of Buggy,” you explain, and Daz nods, connecting the dots. He quickly tallies a mark to Crocodile’s name. “Thank you, Daz!”
“You’re welcome,” he gruffly responds.
“Oh, and do you know where Galdino is?”
“Why should I know? Perhaps he’s in his room,” Daz shrugs. You should’ve guessed that but wave goodbye and walk to Galdino’s room. You’re about to knock when you remember Crocodile’s ominous warning echoing in your head again.
“Knock before you enter…”
You were going to do that anyways, but the weird way Crocodile said it made you grimace. You nervously rapped your knuckles against Galdino’s door. You heard a huff and a lot of grumbling as Galdino swung open the door.
“What do you w-,” he angrily yells until he gasps when he sees it’s you. “(Y/n)! Ah! Uh! Please excuse me!”
You briefly notice a large wax statue on the table before Galdino slams the door on your face. You jump when you hear Galdino freaking out and throwing things around his studio. Something metal is grating against the floor as you hear Galdino struggle to move the obviously heavy object.
“G-Galdino? Is this a bad time?” You call out.
“No, no, no! It’s fine! Perfectly fine! Hahaha there’s nothing weird going on here!” Galdino answers from inside his room as something crashes to the floor and Galdino swears.
It’s silent for a moment until Galdino opens the door, leaning against the frame and trying to give you a charming smile while some wax is now splattered against his pants and shirt.
“So, (Y/n), what brings you to my studio?” He asks while forcing his voice to sound lower, pushing up his glasses.
“Ah, the heads wanted to take a little poll. Mind answering?”
“Anything for- I mean-,” Galdino coughs and lowers his voice again. “Anything for you, (Y/n).”
He takes the clipboard from you and begins to notice the options, quickly marking a tally next to your name.
“There you go- wait a minute!” He looks horrified as realization sets in that there’s only one tally next to Crocodile- most likely Daz, he thinks. Crocodile would absolutely know right away that Galdino didn’t choose him, and the thought makes Galdino nearly pass out. “I-I need to change my vote!”
“Sure,” you give the clipboard back to him and Galdino scribbles over the one he gave you to mark one next to Crocodile.
“Kh... but we’re supposed to be honest…” Galdino mutters. He glances at you, and seeing you patiently waiting and smiling at him makes his heart tighten.
Gah! Who am I supposed to choose?! My muse or my boss?!
“Are you alright, Galdino?” You asked, making Galdino struggle to form words. Instead, he scribbled over the mark he put next to Crocodile and re-marked a tally next to your name.
He hands the clipboard back to you and you smile and wave to him. “Thank you, Galdino!”
“Y-you’re very welcome!” Galdino shouts, unable to control his voice properly around you. You turn around and head back to the office while Galdino lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding.
He was most likely going to die after this, but seeing your smile was all worth it. He could die happy, even knowing that Crocodile would probably drain him of life later.
You, however, didn’t notice the longing look Galdino gave you as you open the door to the office.
“Well, I got all the votes!”
“Well, who won?” Buggy immediately jumps forward and steals the clipboard from you. He notices that Crocodile and Mihawk hardly have any, with only Crocodile have a mark. “See I wo…”
His face darkened as he noticed he had only seven votes.
“What’s the matter, Buggy?” Crocodile smirked. “Can’t handle the fact you lost?”
“I… wha…” Buggy grips the clipboard roughly, nearly snapping it in half. “How the hell did (Y/n) get all the votes!?”
Crocodile and Mihawk are caught off guard.
“Wait, what? (Y/n) won?” Crocodile repeated.
“I thought I told you to be fair and not cheat!” Mihawk accused you, his golden hawk eyes glaring into yours.
“I-it wasn’t my fault! Alvida was the one who put my name on the list!” You try to defend yourself.
“Give me that-” Crocodile snaps as he swipes the poll from Buggy’s hand. Crocodile grunts as he notices page after page marked with tallies from the employees choosing you. He sees Mihawk has none, but that his name has one mark (Daz, of course), and one crossed off (that bastard, Galdino-). Given Crocodile’s attentiveness, he does recognize that yours and Alvida’s handwriting is different, so your story is credible. He huffs and tosses the clipboard, making Mihawk lean over curiously.
“Not even one vote…” he murmurs.
Buggy, meanwhile, is distraught, crying on the floor and banging it repeatedly.
“It’s not fair! Not fair at all! I hate this! I’m the star!” Buggy wails out loud.
At first, Crocodile did this as a joke to satiate Buggy, but even his own ego is hurt by this new poll.
“I take it back, you’re getting docked again,” Crocodile threatens, pointing his cigar at you.
“What?! But I spent all day getting this with the promise of money!”
“I changed my mind! I wanted a good poll, not whatever the hell this was!” Crocodile yells back.
“Recount! Recount this!” Buggy shouts.
“I refuse to lose this competition. Give me an hour, I will win this,” Mihawk says, pushing himself off his couch as he walks out the door to do who knows what.
The ensuing commotion causes some of the Cross Guild members to peek through the door and watch Buggy screaming in agony at losing while you’re sobbing at the fact you’re losing money due to this dumb poll.
Alvida rolls her eyes and crosses her arms.
“Would you guys cut this noise out? It’s driving me mad!”
“Alvida! This is all your fault!” Buggy yells at Alvida in tears. “I was supposed to win, not (Y/n)!”
Alvida frowns at Buggy and twirls her mace in her hands. “Are you questioning my decisions?”
Buggy gulps as he sees the mace casting a shadow over him.
“N-no, not at all!” He quickly corrects himself, praying Alvida will not maim him to death.
“That’s what I thought.”

BEHOLD! my new TMNT iteration!
tmnt: Strained Eyes
In this iteration, much like rottmnt, all of the turtles have super powers. however, there is a little catch. while the rottmnt turtle's powers suit their soul, Strained Eye's turtles... don't.
(please ignore the fact that Mikey doesnt really look like a spotted pond turtle, i came up with the design first and had to find a turtle species second)
So! Mikeys powers basically allow him to cause every thing he touches to rot/decompose/desintergrate. he does have some control, but not reliably.
And though he is a good cook, there is a 50/50 chance that you will end up eating mouldy/rotten food. but all the other times it will be delicious.
he (obviously) has insecurities about touch, he is very aware that he could very easily kill someone with just one touch.
he can also grow mushrooms on command -he can also grow them on his shell which freaks out his brothers a lot.
also hes not actually blind in one eye! its mostly just cosmetic.
Up next we have Donnie! compared to Mieky hes a very brightly coloured boy!
his power is illusions! they can be incredibly lifelike. the problem is, These illusions can be permanent if Donnie doesnt dispel them, and sometimes are summoned only by his subconscious. So Donnie can struggle with figuring out if something is real or not.
The only senses his illusions cannot mimic are touch and smell (and taste) so he is usually extremely tactile, holding onto his brothers to assure himself that theyre real and not just a projection of his mind. he covers a lot of stuff in his lab (and his brothers) with strong smelling perfumes as well.
application wise- he uses his powers in tandem with his machines to make incredibly realistic looking androids. example: robot cat that looks like real cat. robot dragon that looks like REAL dragon, etc etc. he can also use them to appear human and turn invisible. (he can expand this to all his brothers) but he still hasnt gotten down the art of human expressions, so when ever he appears human he looks quite uncanny when he talks.
It's Leo!!
now Leo is ~battery powered~ his powers basically allow him to absorb energy straight from the source, such as absorbing the electricity off of an electric wire, or even sucking the energy from a person. or eating batteries.
an unfortunate side affect (depending on how you look at it) is that Leo doesnt need to sleep. ever. as long as he keeps absorbing energy then he's completely fine! and the more electricity/energy he absorbs the faster/stronger he gets! he also thinks faster! coming up with excellent strategies on the fly!
however- the same is true of the other way around, when Leo runs out of energy (which he does often- hes VERY bad at judging how much he has left) he will start to get more lethargic, his cognitive funtions will slow down and his short term memory will start to degrade.
If he completly runs out of energy his heart stops and he dies.
but dont worry! you just need to zap him with more energy and hell get right back up again (Donnie has a defibrillator just for Leo). though its best not to leave him in that state for long. because like that he is still functionally a dead body.
And finally we have Raph!
Raph breaths fire. a very simple power, in fact he can even hold his breath for hours apon end and his skin is extremely tough! theres basically no side effects too!
Hes so lucky compared to his brothers, having a power that suits him perfectly and doesnt mess him up in the head.
because of this, Raph has kinda moulded himself into the hyper aggressive mom friend, making sure they dont all run themselves into the ground because of the drawbacks to their powers.
he still has anger issues too <3

If you killed someone in the Sakamaki household (part 2)
Laito Sakamaki
🃏- Ok so Laito might be the most complicated to explain so far, so bare with me I beg
🃏- He'd find it amusing that you managed to actually bring yourself to kill someone, especially a vampire
🃏- He'd use this person's death to teach you a thing or two about "discipline"
🃏- And to further dig into that, he'd basically use it as a way to show dominance over you
🃏- An example of this could be him slicing your neck enough to draw blood but not deep enough to kill you, while simultaneously feeding off of you
🃏- Seeing as he's the closest with Ayato, compared to the rest of his brothers, I don't think it'd bother him that much to be honest
🃏- He'd definitely be taken aback but like I said, find it somewhat entertaining
🃏- And remember that thing I said about him disciplining you?
🃏- He'd make sure you remember your place as prey
🃏- But internally, he'd wonder why you didn't kill him, which in turn would bring up a lot of unwanted questions
🃏- He'd question whether or not you actually might have feelings for him because of this seeing as that's the only possible outcome
🃏- On the opposite side of things, he might think that you murdered one of his brothers just to torment and spite him
🃏- And I say this because it's canon that he does crave death
🃏- So he might think that you're secretly torturing him, playing mind games
🃏- And if we go back a bit to him questioning if you really do have feelings for him
🃏- He'll think your pathetic or slow witted seeing as how he thinks he's "broken" and no longer can be his authentic self
🃏- He'll also consider the possibility that he might also be next and question your motives
🃏- He'd slowly come to dislike you because of this and other factors as well
🃏-For one, he'd wonder why this was bugging him so much and he'd try to force your motives out of you and your true intentions
🃏- This will have a domino effect which will then cascade into him reevaluating himself and thinking about how you both may be similar in a sense
🃏- Give me like a quick second to explain
🃏- By him feeling the need to "reveal" yourself and why you did what you did, he's then hit with the realization that he too hides behind a facade to trick others
🃏- In any case if he finds out you killing his brother is as simple as you being driven past insanity like he originally thought, he'll find himself a bit pathetic for delving into something so trivial as deep as he did
🃏- If it was maybe Ayato that you killed by chance, he'd be a bit devastated honestly
🃏- Him and Ayato are definitely close despite their hatred towards one another
🃏- Would probably lock himself in his room but knowing Laito, he'd pretend to be okay even if he wasn't
🃏- He'd feel as if Ayato was still yet to help him from back then and now he'll never have the opportunity to prove himself as the big brother he once knew
🃏- If you killed Yui, he probably wouldn't care as much
🃏- Like I said many times before, this is highly dependent on their current relationship with her
🃏- Like Ayato, he'd feel the need to punish you for taking away something that was his
🃏- If his and Yui's relationship was well developed, he'd go into a depressive slump and kill you out of blind rage
Kanato Sakamaki
🧸- Wouldn't care honestly
🧸- I know that's a strong start but let me explain
🧸- Kanato doesn't really hold any strong ties within his family seeing as he often isolates himself
🧸- Like everyone else, he'd question how in the world you managed to pull off such a feat
🧸- In a similar sense to Laito, he'll use this as an opportunity to remind you of your place and reinforce the whole predator and prey dynamic
🧸- He might even think you did it out of love
🧸- If that was the case, he'd be literally overjoyed and encourage you to kill the others like he did to Yui in one of his route endings
🧸- I can't honestly say he'd act any particular way if you killed a specific brother
🧸- Might ask you how you killed them and even ask you to see the body
🧸- Would be shocked if you were still somewhat sane after that
🧸- And I say that because he's one to be perceptive of others, but just doesn't voice it until he needs it as leverage
🧸- So if he noticed you were still mentally intact, he'd be glad because he loves you
🧸- I'm joking, that's not the reason
🧸- He'd be glad because this meant he gets to try breaking you, seeing as you can withstand killing in cold blood
🧸- He's also curious as to what exactly your limits are and try different things to cross your mental line
🧸- Would subtly give you hints on how to kill the rest of his brothers
🧸- Might also get an erection
🧸- Who honestly knows
🧸- Okay but in all seriousness, wouldn't care that much and would rather dive into YOUR mind and figure out what made your gears grind
🧸- Super sorry his was so short, he's just a nonchalant dreadhead 😞
Subaru Sakamaki
🥀- Surprised honestly
🥀- As much as he hates his brothers, he does still see them as his brothers no matter how annoying they are
🥀- Which in turn makes that more annoying
🥀- He'd definitely be the one to give the eulogy and tear up a bit, just a bit
🥀- If you killed out of self defense instead of just plain murder, he'd 100% understand and wouldn't even be mad
🥀- He'd ask you the whole runaround with why and how you did it
🥀- "Heh, you're a lot stronger than you let on"
🥀- He'd think a bit more highly of you and say you have more sense than a lot of the women who came here as sacrifices
🥀- Like Laito, wouldn't be able to wrap his head around why you didn't kill him
🥀- You'll probably have to explain why though if you ever want him to open up to you
🥀- Would get frustrated with you because you didn't choose to kill him despite him being a "monster"
🥀- Due to his relationship with Christa, he has a beyond fucked up interpretation of death
🥀- Would get a little jealous if he thinks you killed them out of love
🥀- He'd never show it though (he would)
🥀- Speaking of never showing things, if he was even a tiny bit sad that his brother died he'd try his best to hide it
🥀- Might criticize his brothers for not caring enough
🥀- And I say that only because the only other brothers left are siblings
🥀- So he'd kinda question how shallow they really were if they weren't even the slightest bit affected
🥀- Since we know Subaru's favourite brother is Shu, he'd honestly be sad if he was the one who died
🥀- He'd probably think about him from time to time and be the one brother who references to back when he was alive the most
🥀- The others would pick up on this but never say anything
🥀- Except for Reiji
🥀- If it was Yui, he'd be so upset
🥀- Since we all know how Subaru is
🥀- He'd never show it in case of being embarrassed by his brothers
🥀- Would be mad at you but to keep up his facade, he'd need to avoid you so it looks like he isn't affected
🥀- If he already had a bond with Yui, yes you guessed it
🥀- Death, death, death, you die. I cannot emphasize this more, you WILL die
From author: Firstly, sorry this one was kinda late, we didn't have wifi😓 Secondly, I loved this request and I know I kinda went character analysis-y with this so I apologize for that😭 Anyways hope you guys are doing good!

how mello & near fail as proper antagonists from the perspective of a mello & near fan
the most interesting thing a character can do in a story is surprise you. to be caught off guard by a character, you need to already have an idea of who they might be.
for example, if a character is introduced to an audience as the greatest detective the world has ever known, someone who’s intelligent & calculated, the viewer might be shocked when that character makes many wild & risky decisions. it might catch someone off guard to hear that character say something like “i had to test this just in case, i never thought it would actually work..”
it’s such a small piece of information but it tells us SO much about the mystery of L Lawliet. L is known by many as the greatest detective, but his first true introduction to us, the audience, is his boldness, his capacity to take risks. his genius is so great that a shot in the dark for him results in a bullseye.
to introduce a character through other characters’ opinions of them is my favourite way to challenge the viewer’s expectations in a story. i think to be curious is to be engaged, a story should be setting you up with a million questions that are compelling enough to keep you interested bc you know they will be answered eventually.
it’s not very interesting when you know everything about the series’ antagonist right off the bat.
L as an antagonist is so compelling bc he’s shrouded in mystery, not only is light desperate to know his true identity & true feelings, but we are as well. this is where near & mello fundamentally fail as proper antagonists, every part of their characters work for me aside from the way in which information is learned about them. it’s such a harsh contrast from the genius that is L, it’s insulting to the viewers who are reading/watching bc they actually care about this story & its characters.
so why is mello and nears introduction so bad? simple, we receive too much information.
the scene in which they appear for the first time is literally set in the place where they live, talking to the man who is raising them, it’s insanely personal. compare it to how we meet L for the first time: through a computer screen, held by a man who’s identity is hidden by a mask & all we see on that computer is the letter L. sorichiro tells us he’s the greatest detective but no one knows his true identity. it tells you all you need to know about him at that point in the story, L is a smart detective who is overly cautious about revealing his identity. we aren’t told why he’s overly cautious or who the man is holding the computer but it’s enough to get us thinking.
this is the amount of information we get through mello & near’s introduction: their caretaker is named roger, he works at wammys house (the orphanage watari founded, which is also information that was revealed in the last episode) where mello & near live. roger reveals that L is dead, meaning that mello & near have some kind of connection to L. mello is devastated at the news but it’s quickly revealed that this devastation is most likely the cause of frustration that L can’t “pick one of them” what does that mean? don’t worry, this scene makes it very clear. mello & near were raised to be great detectives, one of them was meant to be picked so they could carry on his legacy but he hadn’t chosen one yet. near is cold, seemingly emotionless & fixated on solving puzzles. mello is loud, aggressive & overly emotional. roger suggests that they could work together on the kira case, near seems up for it but mello is enraged. he tells roger “you know i don’t get along with near.” which is such a funny way to establish something about a character, having them explain a fact about themselves to someone who already knows it. mello reveals some deeper insecurities about not being better than near & he runs away from home. near is officially the new L, working to defeat kira.
..so that’s way too much information, right?
that scene is like.. if in episode 11, when misa is being introduced thru the sakura TV tapes, we were also seeing misa’s perspective, watching her every move & hearing all of her opinions. the introduction of misa is interesting because the audience isnt given the information that there are 2 notebooks yet, we are meant to assume that light is the one doing all of this even if it doesn’t seem like something he’d do.
mello & near fail as proper antagonists bc the narrative doesn’t take them seriously & doesn’t give them the time they need to establish themselves as threats.
i truly do think near & mello could have been amazing, i have my own ideas for how i would’ve personally taken the story after L’s death but this post is already too long lol!
