@jessaerys ok shit this took a while but WHATEVER. wammy's lore collection here we go :3c less analysis this time, this is mostly just to archive the main known details we have in canon about the house, and also the people from there more generally. however much you wanna accept all this/take it at face value is up to You, Dear Reader (and tbh y'all should just read all these if ur curious since they're all pretty short + have Interesting narrators. i'll include links to free versions). do whatever you want forever etc. etc. also, SPOILERS. obviously.

no this book isn't written by ohba. yes i'm including it. shush. anyways, most of the lore in this comes from mello's vague comments about beyond's backstory, but there's a Lot of interesting things established in this, so. here's a bunch of notable quotes. if you're not already familiar, please keep in mind that the narrator of this novel is mello, writing at some point shortly before his death.

"L. The century's greatest detective. In light of his staggering mental abilities, L died an unjust and untimely death. In the public record alone he solved over 3,500 difficult crimes, and sent three times that number of degenerates to prison. He wielded incredible power, was able to mobilize every investigative bureau in the entire world, and was applauded generously for his efforts. And during it all, he never showed his face." (pg. 10)

"So, what you're reading now are my notes about L. It's a dying message, not from me, and not directed at the world. The person who will most likely read this first will probably be that big-headed twit Near. But if that's the case, I will not tell him to shred or burn these pages. If it causes him pain to discover that I knew things about L that he did not, then that's fine." (pg. 10-11)

"I am one of the few people who ever met L as L. When and how I met him...this is the single most valuable memory I have, and I will not write it here, but on that occasion L related to me three stories of his exploits, and the episode involving Beyond Birthday was one of these." (pg. 11)

"Obviously, it never came to light that L--and more importantly, Wammy's House, which raised me until I was fifteen--was deeply connected to the matter, but in fact, they were. L, on principle, never got involved in a case unless there were more than ten victims or a million dollars at stake, and this is the real reason why he belatedly, but aggressively, involved himself in this little case, which only ever had three or four victims. I will explain further in the pages that follow, but for this reason, the case of the Los Angeles BB murders is a watershed event for L, for me, and even for Kira. It was a monumental event for all of us. Why? Because this is the case where L first introduced himself as Ryuzaki." (pg. 11)

"For any one else but those two [Near and Kira], my identity may be of no interest, but I am the old world's runner-up, the best dresser that died like a dog, Mihael Keehl. I once called myself Mello and was addressed by that name, but that was a long time ago. Good memories and nightmares." (pg. 12)

"She [Naomi Misora] briefly considered the idea that Raye Penber, or someone else, was playing a practical joke on her, but she found it hard to believe that anyone would be so bold to sign their name as such. L never revealed himself in public or in private, but Misora had heard several horror stories about what happened to detectives who tried passing themselves off as L. It was safe to say that no one would dare use his name, even in jest." (pg. 18)

"This was L, so he was undoubtedly solving several other difficult cases all at once. Cases all over the world. For him, this case was just one of many parallel investigations. How else could he maintain his reputation as the world's greatest detective? The century's greatest detective, L. The detective with no clients." (pg. 35)

"L had earned a certain degree of hostility from other detectives, and the jealous ones called him a hermit detective, or a computer detective, but neither of these is a particularly accurate representation of the truth. Naomi Misora had also tended to think of L as an armchair detective, but in fact, L was quite the opposite, a very active, aggressive individual. [swoon.] While he had absolutely no interest in social connections, he was certainly not the kind of detective to shut himself up in a dark room with the shades drawn and refuse to come out. It is now common knowledge that the three great post war detectives, L, Eraldo Coil and Danuve were all actually the same person. Certainly, anyone reading these notes is almost certain to know...though they may not know that L engaged in a war with the real Eraldo Coil, and the real Danuve, and emerged victorious, claiming their detective codes. The details of this detective war I will save for another occasion, but in addition to those three names, L possessed many other detective codes. I have no idea how many, but there were at least three digits' worth. And quite a number of those were fairly public detectives--just like, as anyone reading these notes must know, he appeared before Kira, calling himself Ryuzaki or Ryuga Hideki. Of course, Naomi Misora had no way of knowing this, but in my opinion, the name L was, for him, just one of many. He never had any direct connection to that identity, he never thought of himself as L--it was just the most famous and most powerful of the many detective codes he used during his life. The name had its uses, but lacked obscurity. L had a real name that nobody knew, and nobody will ever know, but a name which only he knew never defined him. I sometimes wonder if L himself ever knew exactly which name was written in the Death Note, which name it was that killed him. I wonder." (pg. 43-44)

"If we must discuss why L so adamantly refused to reveal himself, we can explain it very simply: doing so was dangerous. Very dangerous. While the world leaders should make efforts to ensure the safety of all the finest minds, not only for detectives, the fact is that the current societal systems do not allow for this, and L believed he had no choice but to protect his mind under his own power. By simple arithmetic, L's ability in 2002 was the equivalent of five ordinary investigative bureaus, and seven intelligence agencies (and by the time he faced off against Kira, those numbers had leapt upward several more notches). This is easy to think of as a reason to respect and admire someone, but let me say this as clearly as possible: that much ability in one human is extremely dangerous. Modern danger management techniques rely heavily on defusing risk, but his very existence was the exact opposite. In other words, if someone was planning to commit a crime, they would greatly increase their chances of getting away with it by simply killing L before they began. That was why L hid his identity. Not because he was shy, or because he never left the house. To ensure his own safety. For a detective of L's ability, self-preservation and the preservation of world peace were one and the same, and it would not be correct to describe his actions as cowardly or self-centered." "So whenever L was working, he would usually have someone else as his public face--and in this particular case, the FBI agent Naomi Misora was filling that role." (pg. 70)

"Beyond Birthday had the eyes of a shinigami congenitally. It was not particularly difficult for him to track down people with the initials B.B. or find people who were fated to die on a certain day at a certain time." (pg. 94)

"Normally contact with a shinigami was a prerequisite for acquisition, but Beyond Birthday had traded nothing--he had seen through those eyes since before he could remember. He knew your name before you said it. He knew the time of death of every person he met." (pg. 94)

"You might think [the eyes] would hardly be useful without a Death Note, but that is simply not the case. The ability to see someone's remaining life is the ability to see death. Death, death, death. Beyond Birthday lived his life unceasingly reminded that all humans would eventually die. From the time he was born he knew the day his father would be attacked by a thug and die, knew the day his mother would die in a train crash. He had these eyes before he was born, which is why he called himself Beyond Birthday. Which is why a child as strange as he was taken in by our home, sweet home--Wammy's House. He was B. "The competition between L and B. L and B's puzzle. 'If L's a genius, then B's an extreme genius. If L's a freak, then B's an extreme freak. Now it's time to get ready. There are things I must do before B can surpass L. Henh henh henh henh.' This thought was the only thing that made him laugh without needing to think about it. And those that know will recognize the laugh of the shinigami. Still grinning to himself, he faced the mirror, brushed his hair, and began applying his makeup. The reflection of himself in the mirror. Himself. As always, he could not see his own time of death. No more than he could see the death of the world." (pg. 96)

"We were raised at Wammy's House in England, in Winchester, as L's successors, as L's alternatives, but that does not mean we knew anything more about L than anyone else. Including myself, only a few of us ever met L as L, and even I knew nothing about L before he met Watari--Quillish Wammy, the genius inventor who founded Wammy's House. Nobody knows what's going on in L's head. But even so, I know how Watari felt. Looking at L's incredible talents from the perspective of an inventor--of course he wanted to make a copy, of course he wanted to create a backup. Anyone would feel the same. As I have already explained, L never appeared in public. L knew that his own death would increase the crime rate all over the world by a few dozen percentage points. But what if they could copy him? What if they could make a backup? That was us. L's children, gathered from all corners of the world.

"But even for a genius like Watari, creating a fake L was easier said than done. Even for Near and I, who were said to be the closest to L...the more we tried to be like him, the closer we got, the father away he was, like chasing a mirage. So I hardly need to tell you what it was like when Wammy's House was first founded, when he was still experimenting. The first child, A, was unable to handle the pressure of living up to L and took his own life, and the second child, Beyond Birthday, was brilliant and deviant. B stood for Backup.

"But B tried to surpass L, not become him...no, that might not be right. I have no way of knowing the inner workings of his mind. He...their generation was not like the fourth generation, with Near and I, all the children bound only to the code with the serial L. They were prototypes, never even given the L code, expected to fail. I prefer to refrain from idle speculation based on my own experiences, but, well, Beyond Birthday may have thought something like this: As long as there was L, B would never be L. As long as the original existed, the copy was always a copy." (pg. 104-105)

"The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases. L.A.B.B.--L is After Beyond Birthday. This reading is why I think this name is so much closer to the killer's intentions than the Wara Ningyo Murders, or the Los Angeles Serial Locked Room Killings. I wasn't talking about the names on a purely stylistic basis. Whether Beyond Birthday had put that much thought into it I have no idea, but if he had a specific reason for choosing to commit his murders in L.A., then that is probably why. I am sure he had a much more personal obsession with L as an individual than Near or I ever did. I can understand why someone would become a criminal in order to fight against a detective, which is why I can write something like this, but even so. What did he hope to accomplish by killing unrelated people? Or perhaps B simply wanted to meet L. Then he could use the eyes of the shinigami he'd been born with and see L's real name, see when L would die. He would be able to figure out who L was. Beyond Birthday had never told anyone that he had the eyes of a shinigami, and it would not surprise me at all if he believed himself to be some kind of shinigami." (pg. 105-106)

"Beyond Birthday challenged L. And L accepted the challenge. To put it bluntly, the Los Angeles BB Murder Cases were nothing but an internal struggle, a civil war within our home, sweet home-- Wammy's House. Unfortunate for the victims that got mixed up in it, but even if Beyond Birthday had not killed them, all those victims were fated to die that day, at that time, for some other reason, so logically and morally, their deaths were unavoidable. So in the strictest sense of the word, the only one who really got mixed up in their war was Naomi Misora." (pg. 106)

"L was said to never move on a case unless there were more than ten victims or a million dollars at stake. The only exceptions to this were cases at difficulty level L (extremely fitting), or when L had personal reasons compelling him to get involved. The Los Angeles BB Murders were both of these. I hardly need to point out the difficulty by this stage of the story, and L was essentially fighting his own dead copy. [harsh, dude.] The current head of Wammy's House had told Quillish Wammy/Watari, who had told L about B's disappearance in May, and ever since L had been looking for him even as he solved other cases. Wammy's House only knew him as B--they did not know his real name, Beyond Birthday, so this search was near impossible, but L knew who the killer was. He had not been looking for a killer so much as he was looking for a case. L had been waiting, expecting Beyond Birthday to do something to challenge him. L could move any policeman in the world, but in this case, he could not ask anyone for help except Naomi Misora...more than likely, for this reason. I don't think L really put that much stock in honor, but everyone is embarrassed by their own sins, and nobody wants those missteps to become public knowledge. L was the goal of everyone in Wammy's House. Every one of us wanted to surpass him. To step over him. To step on him. M did, N did, and B did. M as a challenger, N as a successor. B as a criminal." (pg. 116-117)

"No matter what she did, she had no way of knowing. That this killer, Beyond Birthday, could tell someone's name and time of death just by looking at their face, that he had been born with the eyes of a shinigami--she had no way of knowing that fake names were useless with him, completely and utterly pointless. How could she have known? Even Beyond Birthday himself could not explain how he had been born with the eyes of the shinigami, how he could use them with no payment, with no arrangement. Neither Misora nor L knew why, and, obviously, neither do I. The closest thing to an explanation I can offer is that there are shinigami stupid enough to drop their notebooks in our world, so there might well be shinigami stupid enough to drop their eyes." "'So, Naomi Misora...' said L, wrapping up. But Misora hastily stammered, 'Um, er, L...' but then she hesitated, not sure if she should ask this or not. 'You...know the killer, right?' 'Yes, as I said. He is B.' 'I don't mean like that...I mean, he's someone you know personally?' On the 16th, L had said that he had known the killer was B, and she had sort of known ever since, but two days before, L had said something that changed her guess to conviction. Whatever you do, please catch the killer. The century's greatest detective, L, would never say that about some ordinary indiscriminate serial killer. And the way his letter was just one letter long... 'Yes,' the synthetic voice agreed." (pg. 144-145)

"'I have nothing to do with him,' L said. 'To be completely accurate, I do not even know B. He is simply someone I am aware of. But none of this affects my judgement. Certainly, I was interested in this case, and began to investigate it because I knew who the killer was. But that did not alter the way I investigated it, or the manner in which my investigation proceeded. Naomi Misora, I cannot overlook evil. I cannot forgive it. It does not matter if I know the person who commits evil or not. I am only interested in justice.'" (pg. 145)

"My great and respected predecessor, the man whose actions were a strong influence on me personally, B, B.B., Beyond Birthday--obviously, I need hardly explain again that the murders themselves were not his purpose. So what was he doing? Again, I hardly need to explain--he was challenging the man he copied, the century's greatest detective L. A matter of winning or losing. A contest." (pg. 159)

"Since L could solve every case no matter how challenging, if he created a case so difficult that L as unable to solve it, B would have defeated L." (pg. 159)

"He knew that the moment he took action Wammy's House and Watari would alert L, so he did not even bother trying to stop them. He could only guess at which stage of his plan L would start to come after him, so he prepared things carefully, ready for L's entrance at any point." (pg. 159)

"B approached Naomi Misora, calling himself Rue Ryuzaki. Rue Ryuzaki--L.L. For anyone from Wammy's House, there could be no higher goal than identifying yourself with that letter--and Beyond Birthday seized this case as his chance. even Naomi Misora knew what had happened to detectives falsely identifying themselves as L, and B was from Wammy's House, so he knew this better than anyone--so this choice suggests the strength of his decision. He never once intended to survive--had had made up his mind. He was ready." (pg. 160) [trans. note: the name "Rue" in Japanese, ルエ (ru-e), is an anagram of エル (e-ru), which is how L is pronounced.]

"Naturally, his face and fingerprints would burn as well--he had always disguised himself with heavy makeup while he was with Misora, and he never left a picture behind, so even if someone directly affiliated with Wammy's House inspected the body, they would have no idea that Rue Ryuzaki/Beyond Birthday was B from Wammy's House. He had left nothing to connect Beyond Birthday to B." (pg. 162)

"B was presenting the Los Angeles BB Murder Cases to L as a case that could never be solved. That L could never solve. In other words, he had never prepared any clear solution to it--since the killer had committed suicide, disguised as the fourth victim, there was no longer a killer to catch, and no clues left to catch him with." "My poor, poor predecessor. Not only was he utterly and completely defeated, but he survived, driving home his embarrassment...he must have longed for death. Accept my condolences, B." (pg. 169-170)

"If I had space left over I had intended to carry right on into the other two stories I heard from L: the story of the detective war between the three greatest detectives, all solving that infamous bio-terror case, with guest appearances by the last of the alphabet, the first X to the first Z from Wammy's House; and the story of how the world's greatest inventor, Quillish Wammy, aka Watari, had first met L, then about eight year's old--the case that gave birth to the century's greatest detective, the Winchester Mad Bombings that occurred just after the third World War. But however objectively I look at things, I do not have the space or the time. Oh well." (pg. 170)

"She had spoken to L only once after the killer was arrested. He thanked her for helping to solve the case, and told her just a little about the background of the case. That B had been a candidate to succeed L, and that the pressure of that had driven him off track." (pg. 171)

"And a few years after his arrest, on January 21st, 2004, serving a life sentence in a California prison, Beyond Birthday died of a mysterious heart attack." (pg. 173)

near has apparently only "talked" to L once (in quotes since he didn't actually say anything, just sat in the back of the room doing a puzzle the entire time. real asf girl)

during this "conversation," roger or one of the orphanage heads set up the usual L screen + a camera/mic so that L could see all the kids and answer their questions.

notably, mello & near didn't ask any questions, just lurked in the back watching L with a "nasty look in [their] eyes," which near assumes is what made him pick them to be his top successors, considering the fact that he didn't actually look at any of their data. (somewhat seems to imply that L didn't actually give a shit about grades or anything like that when picking his main successors?)

while answering questions, near is caught off guard by one of L's answers. to transcribe it all directly here--

NEAR (NARRATING): At the time, I didn't think L would put it so bluntly. L: It's not a sense of justice. L: Figuring out difficult cases is my hobby. If you measured good and evil deeds by current laws, I would be responsible for many crimes. L: The same way you all like to solve mysteries and riddles, or clear video games more quickly... For me too, its simply prolonging something I enjoy doing. L: That's why I only take on cases that pique my interest. It's not justice at all. And if it means being able to clear a case, I don't play fair, I'm a dishonest, cheating human being, who hates losing...

not quite the monster speech, but fascinating all the same. near seems to imply that this answer sent some kids into a despair spiral, but it actually caused him to like L more and more, feeling that he was, "exactly the kind of person who wanted to achieve his own goals." kinda goes against the HTR13 ohba comment? shrug

The Wammy's House/L's One Day: (read here)

honestly i interpret these comics as like. canon crack fic. but anyways, here's the established L lore included in these two.

L was taken into wammy's as a nameless orphan at an unknown but likely quite young age

very soon after arriving he beats up all the other kids he meets--

he is "utterly incompatible," with all the other kids and monopolizes all the things he likes simply cause he's stronger than them and presumably could fight them for it-- naturally, he ends up usually just playing by himself

notably, this all establishes that L isn't the first kid at wammy's, that there was already at least one generation of older kids living there before he got there (and could eventually turn it into an L successor creating machine)

once watari realizes that L has some outstanding mental abilities, he gives him his own private room and a computer. afterwards, L spends most of his time sitting in front of the puter by himself

L requests that watari buy 1 million pounds with Japanese yen and tells him which stocks to buy, causing his assets to reach "almost 20,000 times the original amount," in two years. visually this is depicted as happening when L is still quite young

several years later, L stumbles across a serial murder case in the news, which is the first he solves, starting his new career path

L can stay awake for 100+ hours and then gets over it by sleeping for like 17 hours. pictures also may imply that he doesn't actually sleep in a bed, but just lies down sideways in his chair. RIP yotsuba light's perfectly designed sleep schedule

L does in fact go outside!! he likes roller coasters/theme parks, swinging, art galleries, live music, etc. though most of the time he just sits in his room thinking thru shit n solving cases.

Okay I’m assuming that the other long ass ask you mentioned was about the Halloween event too and your take on it so fair warning, this will also be about that and will also probably be long. I only play en and try to avoid spoilers but also I love the lion man so I got some of that anyway. But you really hit on a lot of points that I feel are important when people wanna flatten Leona’s character to 2D (even though he is literally 2D I guess), but what we’re seeing now in terms of “Leona chugs respect women juice and hates men” feels like just another iteration of “lazy lion man is lazy and doesn’t wanna do anything.”

And about Leona respecting a potential friend or partner regardless of gender, it’s like two weird sides of the same coin where people will say he hates men but it feels almost infantilizing toward women (Sally specifically in this case) about him being kind to her BECAUSE she is a woman. No! He likes her because she is smart and cunning and clever and will do whatever it takes to get what she wants (poisoning someone to get to freedom)- all things Leona values, and I think there’s probably a certain amount of “finally, my kind of person” with some of the closer analogues I feel being Leona mentoring Jamil and pushing him to go after what he wants as well as letting Yuu “bully” him into helping with Azul because dammit Yuu is using everything at their disposal and figured out the trick to Azul’s contracts, both of which are worthy of respect (and it lets him destroy his own contract). I’ve lost my train of thought a smidge but yes, it’s not about respecting women specifically or a matriarchal society, it’s about being around someone he actually vibes with and respect

Switching topics but yeah, he IS a hypocrite! He’s calling out Skully’s not seeking consent specifically because the behavior annoyed him as a whole, not just the consent part. And possibly Yuu’s or anyone else’s reaction of “oh how gentlemanly” too. I feel like that one goes back to his tendency to seek any and every advantage or whatever he can use to get the result he wants. In this case, he wants Yuu to not be overly impressed or even annoyed with Skully, and that’s the way to get the result.

Okay last one but yes it is so cute to get to see Leona a bit softer and kinder since it’s such a rare sight in twst. There’s this kind of vindication too, at least for me, to see what as so obviously there to me out in the open for once.

Leona has always been soft…but not a gentleman.

YEAH YEAH I think I see what you mean with this. I have a couple of thoughts on that tbh- 

Ppl get excited about a character they like and then they end up saying/joking about things without thinking about other ppl in the fandom who are different from them. Which…is fine to a degree but fandom is a community (or supposed to be) AND masc/nonbinary (and/or those with those types of OCs) often ALREADY get left out of fandom content and end up feeling like they aren’t “as valid” as femme folk and their OCs.

The other thing may be that some of these ppl feel in order to “justify” liking this “flawed character” that they MUST sanitize aspects of them. And turning Leona into a “squeaky clean feminist” suddenly and “consent” king is their way of flattening his character in order to make him safer to like?? Or like a vindication for him liking their femme OCs over a masc one?

Maybe I’m wrong, but those are my thoughts.

To your second point, YES EXACTLY!! I have always felt like Leona takes a soft spot for the MC in Chapter 3 and even somewhat for Jamil in Chapter 6 when he sees aspects of himself in him. And I feel like I never see ppl bringing that up about Chapter 3 especially. 

In the manga, you can see how delighted Leona is when Yuuta figures out the secret to Azul’s Unique Magic. He respects Yuuta's tenacity and even though he “says” he only helps because he wants his personal contact destroyed, I have always believed that that is just a part of it. I think he genuinely grows to like the MC more and actions speak louder than words. If he TRULY wanted to be rid of Yuuta or the MC in the game…he would have thrown them out like he threatened to do from the beginning. He’s a pushover…for certain ppl ofc.

You can even see this with Ruggie as well. Leona “says” it’s only for his benefit but we KNOW that he helps Ruggie behind the scenes with his homework “gives him extra money” and hand-me-downs. If it was truly only a business relationship he wouldn’t bother. And in one of his birthday vignettes, Cater goes on about how much he obviously cares for his underclassmen.

I guess what is truly interesting to me is that I’ve ALWAYS known Leona has the ability for softness and kindness. And bc Sally is a sweetie and so cool and YES a lady I think he was just more open about being nicer to her. 

Let’s remember that Leona doesn't have a lot of ppl he's close to at Night Raven College, therefore we don’t get to see that side of him often.

Idk…I feel watering this all down to “Leona is just a feminist” and that is why he’s nice does as you say: infantilizes women AND waters down Leona’s capacity for said softness and kindness and just making it about “manners” he learned growing up, yk?

I think it could even be interpreted as jealousy if someone wants to go that route.  But is it bc he TRULY gaf about Scully's manners? idts

As we know, he’s blunt compared to many of the characters and according to Vil and others has terrible manners. In fact, this was brought up MANY times in the Tamashina Mina event and so I think more the scene with Sally was more to show that he CAN be kind and a gentleman…when he wants to. Rather than showing he’s a simp for women or w/e.

 I'm FINE with ppl saying he’s a feminist or respects women! I believe he does! That’s harmless but- 

I just wish that ppl wouldn’t use this as an excuse to put down others AND remember that Leona isn’t just kind to women. He may have been softer to Sally but he has always been a generous person to those he believes has potential and/or respect.

You’re tired. Extremely tired. If you got a coin for how many times somebody had asked you a stupid question — you’d be able to quit your job by now.

The smell of popcorn and off brand candy lingers in the air; you feel sick to your stomach as you look at the clock. 3 more hours of your shift left, god, you close your eyes for a solid minute — imagining yourself in your nice warm bed away from all the noise, smell and buzzing food machines.

Fortunately, it seems as the flurry amount of people had dispersed after the screenings of the new trending movie had stopped at a certain time. You hum a sigh under your breath, the theater was almost empty, You prayed to whatever was listening to you that a group of teenagers wouldn’t just burst in and charge towards your counter.

You decide to pass off some time by restocking the candy shelves by your desk, grimacing at the overpriced labels when you suddenly hear a small cough.

Looking up, you notice a very familiar customer beaming at you with a big smile. Their eyes light up, and you can't help but change your tired expression to one that matches theirs.

“Hey! How’s your shift going Y/N?” The man smiles, fidgeting with his hands as he eagerly looks at you.

“Good as a shift can get Matteo, how’s your day going? This is the third time you came this week — Must’ really like movies.. new world record huh?”

You respond back, with no malice in your tone, exchanging banter with your favourite customer. He comes so often to the theatre, that you guys are already on first name basis.

Honestly, the only reason he was your favourite customer was because of how how nice and pleasant he was to chat too.

Matteo would arrive with a warm smile, always making a beeline for whichever counter you were working at. You guys would chat about the latest releases, obscure indie films, and laugh over the messiness of children running around.

You’d remember the first time he came into the movies with his friends, his eyes would linger on you every now and again whilst ordering — you never really paid any mind to it.

Matteo raises his eyebrows as you question him. “…Really like movies?” A pause between the two of you as you nod awkwardly, before his eyes widen in realisation.

“Oh yeah— yeah! I love movies hahaha…! Movies are great.. awesome, spectacular, so fun!!” He says laughing, wiping his eyebrow and grinning extremely wide.

Rapidly changing the subject, Matteo places one of his arms on the counter. “The movie you recommended to me two days ago was so funny! I loved it, anything new for me today?”

To be frank, you could not recall what movie you told him to watch, and you doubt you even watched it yourself! However, seeing the gleam in his face — you didn’t have the heart to tell him so.

You shift your head slightly to see behind Matteos head, the small list of movies that were going to play soon. Selecting the most cool sounding one, you look back at him.

“There’s a movie called ‘Argan Gate’ that came out recently in theatre 3?”

His smile becomes even more radiant (which you didn’t know could be possible) as he looks through his bag, “Sounds perfect! I’ll take a ticket!”

Matteo hands you his money, your fingers brushed slightly, The man freezes as he just stares at your hands for a solid few seconds before zoning back in with flushed cheeks.

“…I’ll tell you how the movie was after, see you at your next shift?” He says with a flustered look. You mutter a small okay with a wave as he walks to the movie screening.

You wonder for a second on how he’d know when your next shift is, and why he watches every single thing you recommend him. Pausing as you stare at his back with a narrowed gaze before you shrug your shoulders, going back to restocking the shelves

isaac being thrust into the dol setting WOULD be possible i think, and wouldn't be too much of a deviation from his previous lore. this is the only finished art of him i have atm btw! threw together a little fun page with it :> some thoughts below:

firstly, the accent would make him stand out. he's american and sounds like it. its a bit harder to pin down where he's from in the us tho, since he refrains from using too much regional dialect. (i vc him sounding like mr nightmind nick nocturne hehe :3c)

a freelance journalist, he'd be interested in the sordid rumors circulating about doltown. being as the pc is a very active person, i think he'd probably run into them a few times and eventually put together that they're on the up & up and proposition them to give him insider info about whatever fucked up shit they find out along their various jobs — by that time of this meeting, he'd be in the know about the pc's money situation & make sure to pay them for their info.

if the player takes his deal, the pc could then either give him actual info or fake info: he will figure out youre lying - at least when it comes to most things! he doesn't wholly believe in the supernatural, so if you were truthful about like, the IW or something, he'd go along with it and pay you but he doesn't believe you. outlandish claims will net you less pay too..!

he doesn't start off as a LI, nor somebody who the pc can sleep with. you can make a pass at him! he'll play along for the most part, but he'll always decline to actually get physical with you.

calling for help at night outside around town has a low chance of getting isaac's attention. this is where you see a slip in his personable, charming all-american boy mask; the pc will note that after scaring their attackers off, isaac seems a lot more closed off and brusque when checking on the pc before leaving.

the killing would most definitely start after the first time he rescued the pc. important to note: he isn't killing for the pc specifically, there is no yandere trope happening there! it would definitely cause a buzz around the town, as it would be grizzly and something of a statement piece.

if you noticed the ghosties in the bg behind his art, that was on purpose lol! isaac is specifically a GF oc — i dont really think this would change. i pull a little from the movies but lean pretty heavy in dbd's version for inspo! ie — isaac is the original, there were movies based off his killings, copycats cropped up now and then, he shares the same 'freelance journalist' thing as danny (and the fake names, isaac isnt his actual name). for a dol setting, i think id just mesh what i already have in that 1. He is the og Ghostface 2. There are movies based on his killings & copycats came from it.

thinking on how he'd of stumbled into doltown; i'm thinkiiing, there was too much heat in the states, as the cops began to get closer to his trail, so he dipped. he's legitimately a journalist by day, so he probably took an overseas job that involved looking into the "whacky zany town of dol!" — unfortunately for everyone in town, he's pretty damn good at his job & whatever dumb thing they'd of wanted him to actually write about, he'd of steered immediately towards the darker rumors of the town.

as for kissing him? mmm it would be poooossible... but it would probably be a volatile slow burn haha. his relationship with sex isnt good, so a pc that tried to jump his bones would get a big fat sims tier --🧍‍♂️negative interaction. he may eventually give in if pushed hard enough, but its more of a hatesex thing at that point — which some pcs may be gunning for! more power to em haha. i think you could also get more of a "good route" going but its like, ""good"" only by comparison of the alternative. :") he's still a slasher! and even if he were a LI with full love for you, that wouldn't save you from his impulses or ideations. tbh, he'd probably wana kill you more if he "loved" you!

HERE is the first doodle i did when i wanted to make Jaxston. i was inspired by someone's fnaf fanart and really liked the spiraling words and limited palette and went "Y'know I've really been wanting to make a Bill's vessel oc..."

Made on ms paint ! i think its fun bc he is no longer Bill's vessel at all and never is at this point in me creating his lore and stuff (idk yet im always so indecisive about fandom oc lore lmao) lol !

then when i was drawing it i was not in the mood to do any fullbodies bc i had JUST finished day 1, which took longer than i wanted so i just. kept it simple! aka i sketched the full body, hated it and then deleted the entire lower half of the body lmao

i didnt do any sketch past this lol, i really liked how it felt and just kinda kept it. i tried lineart, but i couldnt get it to fit the vibe the og sketch had so i decided not to ^_^

So! What happened here?

Towards the start of the hiatus - I'd sayyy around Sunny's Birthday Arc? - I was in a pretty iffy headspace, generally. I was getting burnt out with life in general TBH, which might've been pretty easy to see what with how updates slowed during that time, though I still tried to keep up and continue the story. (That was why I brought on Mod Sock, if I remember - she's such a sweetheart and offered to help <333 ily sock /p)

However! On March 28, 2023, my father died. It was sudden andddddd a LOT of my life was up-heaved due to this. He was me and my brothers' main guardian, so there was a lot going on what with who would be taking care of us, where we'd be living, etc etc. Plus, that was only, like, two months before I graduated high school? Lol. So there was also the stress of trying to do THAT as well.

That was the main cause for the hiatus. I honestly just couldn't really balance my mental state, my family situation, AND the responsibility of this comic on top of that - this is just supposed to be a fun thing for me, yknow?? So, I put it on hiatus. I... wasn't really expecting to ever take it off hiatus. I mean, after all those months? After I've gone and started college?? This blog started the summer before my junior year of high school. That's, like, a WHILE.

But then the first chapter of the official OMORI manga came out and it fucking sucked and pissed me off aghalkdhg;ksdhgalshk

That's happening now, I guess. After some light and affectionate prodding (encouragement) from friends I am... tentatively rolling back the hiatus. TENTATIVELY!!!

If it gets too stressful again I've got no problem dropping it again, but I think that now, with a bit more experience and maturity, I should be better at the whole time management and prioritization thing. We'll see how it goes, though. (BTW if there's a notable difference in how updates from here on out looks, it's because I don't use MediBang as a program anymore ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Sorry lol)

So... next up, I guess, is I'm gonna finish up this bit about BOSS, and then characters will be open to answer asks again!

tbh a lot of this is in collaboration with my good friend @theghostavocadoe since they basically adopted the remnants tee hee :3c

So... Kadaj, Yazoo and Loz all now serve as the Demigod Generals of Sephiroth.

But their story begins when they were created in the primordial underworld soup, when during the height of the Vengeful Hurricane War, Sephiroth was defeated and his remains were sent to the underworld, and the three of them were created from the shattered fragments of his willpower.

They had other names before their current ones, given to them by Jenova, who rules as the queen of the underworld. And the three of them represent three of the principles of war.

Kadaj represents the rage of war, Yazoo represents the strategising and planning, and Loz represents raw combat strength. Together they form a formidable force that can turn the tide of any battle.

Kadaj is an absolute FIEND for gyros. He gained a taste for them in the underworld, and that's something that's always stuck by him.

Yazoo can either be a demigod or demigoddess depending on how he chooses to present. Although many mortal circles refer to her as the Demigoddess of Wisdom, and her symbol is that of an owl.

Loz is an absolutely fantastic cook. He can make even the simplest of dishes taste amazing.

All three of them don't just consider Sephiroth their dad, they also consider Angeal their dad too. And they call Genesis mom because he doesn't mind which parental term they use for him, though he does have a particular soft spot for being their mama bird.

diptyque and aēsop are both releasing new fragrances this week…. diptyque is coming out with an entire line (with five perfumes) while it’s just a single release for aēsop but i’m 😩 because i was in the market for a new perfume, now that we’re coming into spring/summer and now i can’t decide. tbh lunamaris is like, my favourite just because of pure aesthetic, HOWEVER the notes and reviews that have been released make it sound like it’ll be awful in the heat lmao, very incense-forward. corail obscuro is meant to be citrusy, and virēre is meant to be grassy—green tea and hay. EYEEEE have been a very good girl and thus deserve a little treat :3c the trouble is picking which one lmao. they’re all gonna be blind buys bc im stupid (do NOT, EVER, do that, i am so serious. i do it because i generally know what i can and cannot handle, and tend to make very educated guesses, but perfume is about skin chemistry—sometimes it can be perfect on paper and then an absolute dud on you. BUY SAMPLES FIRST, ALWAYS) but out of them all corail sounds like the safest bet…. but my heart wants lunamaris. 🥹 virēre is a forgone conclusion—i am a faithful aēsop girlie, unforch (don’t be loyal to brands 😑 they don’t care about us)—but also i am happy to wait to buy it. the diptyque stuff is more novel to me bc i only have the one perfume from them, atm, and have been meaning to get more into their range. 🥹

Hi guys so as you know I haven't been posting for a while and the reason is I've lost my hyperfixation on south park! Idk how else to put it but I have no more motivation or really even want to make more south park content atm and I don't know if I ever will again. Now don't get me wrong I still love south park and all you guys in the fandom but I've kinda moved on back to my old hyperfixations e.g. pressure and phighting but mainly just roblox as a whole. I'm most active on my twt account here and my new tumblr account which I'm not super active on but goes by the same name as my twt [I'll probably start posting on it more cos schools starting again and i can doodle in class :3c]. Tbh, I feel like Carl is probably the best answer here. Like, no matter the reason--- sympathy, blackmail, or just owing Perry a favor--- it would work. I can just imagine Perry keeping his reasons very vague. So, Carl would know enough--- replicator and the spare key set up in his lair--- to not ask questions. Like you said, no one would question him wanting that spare key for security reasons, and if he HAD to give a reason for having this stuff installed at all, he could just explain it's an end of the world measure. A last resort, a hail mary, etc.

OKAY BUT YES. There is honestly so, so much there. I desperately need a major deep dive into At2D that covers ALL of it. Especially, what it says about the characters, their relationships, and more. I will say though, I remember as a kid being kind of surprised that At2D was so Perry centric. It definitely made me love this movie even more (I'm a sucker for Perry angst >:3c)

But man, there's so much to say about Platyborg--- like, he technically got the better end of the deal compared to our Perry. In Tales From the Resistance, it's pretty clear that 2nd D Phineas and Ferb are aware of his secret agent past, and he can more or less be himself around the boys in a way that our Perry can't :'))) He is allowed to keep his family, has the option to return to his career, or even retire and just stay with his boys (as a weird platypus cyborg uncle).

The lava scene is so AAAAAA. The pure terror and fear and love Perry has in this moment. He's so scared for Phin, Ferb, and Candace (and to a different extent, Doof) as he desperately tries to hold onto the cage bars. (He's so small and tiny, and the weight of all those people is definitely hurting him, but fuck if he isn't going to hold on until his dying breath if he has to.) Those are his kids, they are the ones keeping him going, and damn. He never ever meant to put them in any kind of danger, but he did because he chose to be selfish and not expose his identity to stop them from helping Doof (one of the few times he's ever chosen to be selfish), and he couldn't save them from being in this situation. Hanging over a massive pit of lava where he's trying so hard to keep them all alive, and now he also has to trust those kids to save them all. He does trust them, he always has--- but it doesn't shake the knowledge that if something goes wrong the consequence is those kids burning to a crisp in molten hot lava. The amount of strength it took for Perry to finally let go KILLS me.

Frankly, with the amount of times that the OWCA has screwed Perry over, they should count themselves incredibly lucky that Perry hasn't snapped and gone rogue on them 😭 Like, I don't think they turned on Perry on a dime for nothing! I think they're painfully aware that if Perry did go rogue they would be absolutely COOKED. Monogram literally sent two agents to arrest Perry, and it took nothing for Perry to beat them and escape. Heck, in At2D we see other OWCA agents try to take down the evil Norm bots and fail. Perry shows up and nearly beats most of the Norm bots before he's pinned down. He is a lethal force!!! Perry is both their top agent, and arguably their biggest threat. If he ever realized his worth and how much more his family means to him than his loyalty to the agency then it would be over for OWCA.

There is just so much potential to explore here, so I HOPE the revival takes the opportunity to do so!!! Heck, a tiny part of me hopes that maybe somehow Perry is able to be himself around his family more by the end of the revival. If Platyborg can get a happy ending where both his worlds can come together, why can't our Perry 🥺 (I know, wishful thinking but an anon can dream 😆)

The amount of strength it took to let go..... Oh god. Imagine being the last saving grace of all your most loved ones hanging over certain death.... Which would be more painful? Holding on or letting go? Im not normal about it. *Screams into a pillow*

Also the idea of Carl being told that Perry wants a hail mary key being made of his most prized possession, the locket of his kids .... Like they make this small child go through so much. Cus now Carl has to sit there and deal with the thought of their best agent has a) lost enough faith in both himself and the organisation to overcome an something difficult in the coming days or b) something is coming and it is going to be horrible and harder than even their agent can ever be prepared for. And AT2D hasnt happened yet. After everything i cant believe Carl still wants to become Commander for OWCA but like. Im glad he is??? Theres literally nobody better for OWCA's future than Carl.

And OH MY GOD i literally went on and on as to why Perry possibly still wants to work for OWCA that has to do with the delicate balance he has in retaining his loved ones (the Flynn Fletchers AND the Doofenshmirtzes) and the fact that there are VERY VERY FEW people who has crossed that line and lived to tell the tale (as in knows about both his lives) is just. Clutching my head fist on my heart. Pinky and Stacy are literally his lifeline and i NEED more fics about their trio relationship cus they are arguably the only people in the whole WORLD Perry can be ENTIRELY truthful too. Hnnnngh. But also im convinced Perry like. Genuinely LIKES his job. He doesnt need to like OWCA to know that he likes having this defined and meaningful purpose, doing something that hes been born to do and is incredibly good at. Like i think being an agent is the one thing Perry chooses to be selfish about and I dont wanna take that away from him. That being said Perry's refusal to let that part of his life go might be the only thing standing between having the answer to his two worlds finally colliding, but what do I know? Im just some person.

He DOES deserve to have everything. He deaerved like.... Truth and peace. And I Know Platyborg has gone through hell and high water to get where he is now but.... Fuck. The fact that its possible.....
