I have thoughts about Anakin. I'm not going to go in depth, other people have and I don't have time.

What if he was suspectable to the dark side, to Palpatine because everything in the temple was new and confusing, but the idea of ownership and subjugation was familiar? All those little whispers and dark intentions were exactly what he was used to, what he thought the universe was always meant to be. After growing up a slave, I think the Dark felt like truth and Light felt like a lie, or a pretense at best. He was lost and without his mother for the first time in his life, and the light felt distant, meant for other people.

Did control ever stop feeling like home? It was all he'd known, wouldn't hints of it be more comfortable and real than the absence?

Seeing so many people lump Bad into the category of "He mistreats Foolish! He doesn't care about him at all and doesn't trust him!" is incredibly frustrating when you actually SEE them interact outside of Bad messing with Foolish stuff.

Yes, Bad messes with Foolish but they do it to each other. It's a mutual thing and never go across any boundaries (if they do they'll back track and undo whatever was done. Like when Bad encouraged others to build inside the dragon, before they left he made sure they undid all the blocks that would affect the look of it from the outside) and as a "thanks for letting me mess with you so much" Bad leaves multiple gifts for Foolish! The platforms at the perfect height and distance to look over the titan, the scavenger hunt for Foolish's 10 stacks of pizzas with a massive reward for him and Leo at the end, making the conduit for Foolish when asked, the beacons at the titan and the backpack with many enchantment books, blocks, exp and upgrades.

The 2 trust each other but are also out to get each other. Bad wouldn't leave Pomme with Foolish if he thought he wasn't trust worthy of watching his daughter. Foolish wouldn't leave the tree in his home Bad and Pomme made if he was genuinely bothered by it (Bad expects it to disappear at some point too, as it's Foolish's home). Foolish and Bad wouldn't have followed Jaiden together, the 2 relying on each other to make sure they didn't lose her and stayed invisible (even if they did argue 99% of the time). When in the dungeon Foolish wouldn't have been calling out to Bad, asking if he was okay as Bad was being swarmed by mobs.

If Foolish was actually trapped in the nether, Bad would have tried to help him get out. If Bad truly didn't trust Foolish, he wouldn't hang out with him at all or tell him things, or even give him access to his home. He wouldn't have stuck up for Foolish against Max when they were talking about kicking Foolish out (even if he did play into it too, but that's how they are with each other. Foolish told Max Bad did a survey for the federation for the exact same reason, to make the other look bad)

Others might not trust Foolish or might mistreat him, Bad however does trust Foolish. And Foolish trusts Bad. Bad knows Foolish's limits and while might push them, he knows where to stop. They can predict each other's actions and motivations incredibly well. They respect each other and trust each other but show it differently to everyone else, in a way no one else understands because they've been friends for that long.

They both trust each other with their kids. They know the other is a great parent as much as they might say otherwise.

So no, Bad should not be lumped in with everyone else who doesn't trust Foolish or mistreats him. Because he doesn't. He trusts Foolish more than anyone and they treat each other the exact same way, Bad just having more free time to mess with Foolish.

God, I love exploring what he can do if he hadn't suffered through his father abandoning them and then YEARS of caretaker burnout as he tried in vain to heal his dad. What if he hadn't learned to fear his intellect and skill. What if Appalachia hadn't been cut out of him by being raised in the Bay Area. What if his abilities and cultural identity were both nurtured and encouraged by loving parents and a strong educational support system. What then. 👁️

I think he definitely still has his issues, because public figures often do lol. Fame causes so many problems. But fuck if I don't wanna let this lil scruffy genius out of his mental cage of repression, burnout, and depression. I think he's wild, enthusiastic, and has so much heart and spirit underneath all those layers of bullshit. 30 years of suffering and he is in his 30s, the divergence of the AU puts him on a radically different path from childhood and that makes him a TOTALLY new person.

Whether it's by blood or by choice, Tater Higgs McGucket understands the importance of family. Son of revolutionary inventor and co-founder of the Institute of Oddology Fiddleford Hadron McGucket, Tate describes his father as his closest friend, collaborator, and mentor. In collaboration with family friend and other co-founder of the Institute Stanford ("Ford") Pines, the three first designed their renowned supplemental oxygen delivery system after an expedition studying anomalies in the Himalayas.

"Our investigation took us to Camp 1 of Manaslu," Tate described in an exclusive interview with Mountaineering Monthly last week, "And I was shocked by the amount of traffic. This was some of the roughest terrain on the planet, but we saw more people out there than on some of my hiking trips back home in Oregon. . . Ford was our interpreter, and after talking with the locals, we realized that there were all these companies selling tickets to the top — with sherpas puttin' themselves on the line just to ferry tourists to the summit."

The influx of inexperienced climbers has had disastrous consequences, as Tate witnessed firsthand. "A lot of these people, they're physically and mentally capable of makin' that kinda climb, but maybe they don't follow best practice. You can summit without any oxygen, if ya stop and acclimatize along the way. But that takes a while, so it can be really temptin' to ignore your body and throw an oxygen bandaid at the problem. But then you're puttin' yourself in an emergency situation if it fails. While we were there, one of those climbers ran out, and a sherpa had to run more oxygen up there. I told him there was a storm a-comin', but he went up anyway. And we ended up losin' 'em both."

Tate's growing twang was underscored by a nervous bouncing of his leg, and he took a moment to collect himself before resuming the interview.

"Dad and I had a look at these open circuit breathing apparatuses. While they were reliable, we saw they were plum wasteful. Knew we could make somethin' better. There's a growin' culture of risk-takin' 'round them mountains. And maybe we cain't stop the industry that's causin' these problems, but we can at least make it safer for them climbers. 'Cuz at the end of the day, regardless of what ya think about these people? With an accident like that, there’s people left behind that're a-hurtin' somethin' fierce. Partners, friends, kids without parents. I mean, just the thought of losin' my dad like that is enough to break my heart — but that's reality, for both the families of that climber and the sherpa who died tryin' to save him. . . Naw, I reckon we can do better."

That was how the youngest McGucket, who had become a household name in the 1990s for his work in designing personal computers with his father's company, first ventured into the world of alpinism. But what he hadn't expected was to fall in love during the process.

"I always needed nature," he explained, "I get overstimulated awfully easy, and so I go out there to clear my head. Been hikin' and fishin' since I was a kid. . . And so, after workin' with climbers to test this equipment — I saw a lot of them eight-thousanders up close, right? And one day, I just knew I had to see it from the top."

But having become familiar with the dangers involved, Tate knew that preparing himself for such a climb would be no easy task.

Luckily, he found a trainer in Ford's twin brother, Stanley Pines.

“Stanley is a stand-up guy. Real old school. Throws a hell of a punch, catches a hell of a catfish.” Tate said of his mentor, “He’s a fighter. So I knew I needed him, because all it takes is one slip up or act of god for these expeditions to turn life-or-death. And he’s been great. Neither of us knew much about rock climbin’ or mountaineering before all this. But we’ve learned together. And having summited a few eight-thousanders now, I can tell ya, I wouldn’t be here without his help.”

Also aiding in his expeditions were his prototype real-time weather and vital monitoring systems, which have since become standard issue in all McGucket brand protective wear. But Tate is most proud of his high-frequency beacon system, which allows climbers to communicate with their partners and first responders — even from inside perilous crevasses.

"The danger of avalanche or serac collapse is real. There are times when your life just ain’t in your own hands. Our systems allow climbers to communicate when they’re entering or exiting a perilous area, and can send out an SOS. They’re also constantly pinging, so in the event somethin’ does happen, they’ll help your climbing partners or first responders find you.”

But high altitudes aren’t the only place you’ll find the twin peaks of McGucket Mountaineering. Tate’s inventions have seen heavy use by first responders of all stripes, from firefighters to wilderness search and rescue — and he has recently signed a contract to manufacture respirators for medical use.

"At the end of the day, it’s all about making it home safely.” Tate concluded, “You gotta prioritize what matters most. You can do incredible things in this world, but none of it matters if you can’t share them with the people who love you.”

being a huge fan of tlou but also like. thinking that certain stories are built for certain mediums. like the entire theme of tlou2 is grounded and fresh because it’s a railroad/story video game that still affords you mechanical choices in how you navigate the world. i just don’t have a lot of confidence that presenting that story in a tv show with the minimal adjustments that they did in s1 will be fulfilling or compelling in any comparable way. because with tlou1 some of the like. beauty of that story was simply that it was such an emotive story contained in the medium of video games. and some of that was retained just by hitting similar or expanded emotional beats in the show, like the episodes that expanded on the life of the characters and the realities of that world. but truly so much of tlou2 emotional depth and ‘why does this story matter’ rests in the fact that’s it’s your hands on the controller, continually choosing to go forward in the story and have hope that it will work out in your-as-ellie-or-abby-or-somehow-booth’s favour. and you simply cannot get that in a non-interactive medium like television. like i do think tlou2 is a good story but it’s a good story because of the investment required by the player to keep pressing buttons and keep returning and to feel the adrenaline like responses of high intensity moments and be jarringly shifted into backstories that only increase the frustration. in general i’ve been thinking a lot about cross-medium adaptation and on the one hand i am glad that season 1 makes the story of the last of us more accessible to people who wouldn’t pick up a video game but it’s also like. maybe instead we can destigmatize video games as this inaccessible and dangerous medium a bit more instead of just . implicitly agreeing . like no maybe your mom won’t pick up a video game controller and play the last of us . but maybe you can play the game in the living room. sometimes the mediums that stories are told in aren’t just important but are actually foundational parts of how the information of a story is conveyed and that’s not only okay but is fucking fantastic. we should be happy actually that there are so many ways to collect a bunch of themes and ideas and put them together and hold them out to someone else and say “won’t you consider this with me. won’t you feel these emotions and care about these characters with me.”

I suppose we've more or less heard of the Handler aka Sylvia Sherwood is Anya's long lost bio mom (or at least related) theory,

but have you considered:

Jeeves is somehow related to Twilight, who is originally [Redacted]?

I know it was shown in manga that [Redacted] doesn't have any bio siblings in his family, but what if there is a cousin 1 or 2 times removed or a half brother or long lost twin elsewhere?

both have blue eye color (wiki says Jeeves has dark blue, but I can't find a coloured version of Jeeves, so no guarantees yet *shrug*)

both have quick reflexes and combat skills

both are really good cooks (this guy made a gourmet dish in the middle of a forest; and Twilight under-covered as a world-class chef before)

both care a lot for children and are sometimes lenient on them

both have a over-the-top serious female subordinate

even the way they look to the side, or mannerism wise is rather similar *deja vu plays in the background*

look me in the eye and tell me you haven't seen Loid/Twilight make these expressions before

I know some are really wide common ground for people in this story setting (e.g short reaction time and fighting skills from wartimes/occupational needs) and I might well be grasping at straws Endo put in for Foil comparison between the 2, but the similarities are uncanny

I always thought is very tricky to draw that wrinkle that goes from the nose and around the mouth and still male it look good, but gosh you nail it in every art, super expressive and pretty. Looking at all your drawings 🔍🕵‍♀️ to properly appreciate and study it. But wow really in love with your art style is so expressive and pleasing to look at, and the colors are so pretty 👌👌👌👌

i LOVEEE drawing wrinkles!!! it makes faces soso so expressive and i try to add wrinkles to every character i draw whenever i can. and the fact i also love drawing characters smiling (they make me happy, so i want to be able to share my joy to other people by drawing them smiling too!) which of course makes that wrinkle around the nose and mouth more prominent :-)

im not a person that can draw well from memory, i use references excessively even if it doesnt turn out the same way from the reference im copying from in the end 😊

i drew these out real quick but i have no clue how to explain any of these so i just thought about sharing it with you anyways!

call it "cheating" or whatever, but most of the time i even trace over the reference just to have a base i can copy the expression im trying to draw from. i do art for fun and if it makes my process that much easier then. well!

random hc's about cipher + her accent

She *is* an American citizen despite her very obvious London accent. She was born in New York while her father was under the employment of V0ught in their R&D department ( hence why/how she got V'd up as a baby ). Rog moved the family back to London shortly after her first birthday to help set up a satellite lab there ( they are V0ught International, after all ). She has dual citizenship, but V0ught obviously doesn't want to acknowledge the British one at all.

Also re: her accent, there was a real push and a lot of pressure put on her while she was attending g0dolkin to lose the accent completely so by the time she was an upper classmen and being considered for the se.ven it couldn't be held against her. V0ught brough in vocal and linguistic coaches and everything. While she did learn to tamp it down, she doesn't make any real effort to hide it. TBH she hates how she sounds without it, and at this point, what are they going to do about it? It would be too weird for her to suddenly not have it now.

Re: her accent part 3, she makes a point to lean into it an makes it even more pronounced around an absolute prat like Fi.recracker for shits and giggles.

Path Choice: Hunt

||Long overdue thoughts regarding how DH obtains his paths and what it means to him. I did want to like write a drabble about it, but now have this short summary of my thoughts.

The Hunt

Initially, Dan Heng followed The Hunt because he feels like he should. Ever since he was born, he was educated of Dan Feng life and crimes (or more like drilled it into his head). Because he is Dan Feng reincarnation, Dan Heng had to bear his punishment.

By following the Path of the Hunt, the Reignbow Arbitor, Dan Heng feels that "he" (Dan Feng) can find redemption- forgiveness for his sins. That way, Dan Heng won't be haunted by that man past anymore.

There is some idea that Dan Heng met Lan in a dream before he was sentenced to banishment. Unable to recognize the vast space around him, he sees a shooting star moving too fast for his eyes to follow: Beautiful but terrifying. All he hears, as arrows of light descends toward him, are along the lines of: "A Scion of Permanence? The Azure Dragon who attempted to drag the Stars into the ancient sea. Very well. If you seek to redeem your crimes, then take my arrows and vow to annihilate all of Yaoshi spawns in your path."

Then Dan Heng wakes up, confused about his dream. He had no time to decipher it when he's escorted out of the Luofu; exiled. The first signs of Lan blessing are subtle:

The first signs of wind gathering in the palm of his hand (a gift to hide the waters running down his veins)

The confidence he feels unflinching in the face of danger as he wields his spear.

The whispers in the back of his mind (Dan Feng? Lan? Who?) that guides him how to keep his footsteps quiet, to find weaknesses against his opponents, and know when to retreat/fight.

But upon his first meeting with Blade as they clashed, Dan Heng realizes the impact of Lan blessings. The single-minded focus he had, his defenses shifting to pure offensive, and the aggressiveness in his strikes he never had before all because of Blade as his enemy. The fury and hate that tastes like bile in his throat does not belong to him.

It belongs to Lan, and it is Lan that controls him at this moment.

Dan Heng hates it. He hates it even more when he feels something else fighting within him- Permanence, Dan Feng maybe. Struggling to keep Lan power at bay, forcing Dan Heng to stagger in his movements and slow (barely avoiding the lethal strikes of Blade).

Oh, Dan Heng is sick to his core that he has no control at the moment. He hates the feeling that he is never free, even in his own body he has no autonomy.

The first time he stabs Blade in the heart, Dan Heng finally feels like himself. He throws up, the whispers in the back of his mind slowly fading. He believes it was Lan at the moment, but the many times after that...

Dan Heng only slayed Blade if the situation is necessary, and it was within his own choice. In a way, he feels like Lan is watching nearby and mocking him.

The thing is, an Aeon's blessing is also a curse for Dan Heng, he was unaware at the time that the beast he killed many times is the same man his previous incarnation, Dan Feng, dearly loves.

And remember, Lan only requirement for Dan Heng in exchange for his blessings (and allowing him to follow his path) is simple: Annihilate Yaoshi spawns in his path. :)))
