Merthur really have it all huh. King and lionheart dynamic. Fucking hate at first sight then speedrun to trying to die for the other. Slow burn? Never heard of her. One of them wears gloves and one doesn't and I'm not even gonna bother to explain why that is top fucking tier. Lies and secrets that could bring about the doom of the kingdom. Obviously adore each other but will actually fucking die before saying it with actual words. The prince is a gigantic asshole who doesn't know how to show care or ask for attention like a person who had healthy emotional development as a child and oscillates between pulling pigtails and acting like an over-eager puppy or both at the same time. Domesticity levels previously unheard of. They canonically wear each other's clothes. One of them makes up words and the other promptly starts using them. Both are extremely into the other's specific brand of dumbassery. Their love language is fucking playing together. "I don't want you to change" fuck this fuck everything

Disappointment
My wife has requested hurt/comfort jegulus, regulus comforting jamie, so here I am writing, because I would do anything for her (and also like let's be honest, it's not exactly a chore)
@slightly-unhinged-femme <3
-
"Fuck!" James exclaimed, throwing his Quidditch gloves against the wall of the Astronomy tower, almost making himself jump at the loud slapping sound they made.
Ten points. They had been ten points away from a win. Just one more time of getting the Quaffle through the goalpost, and they would've been champions.
"We're counting on you, James!"
"I've got ten galleons on you, Potter!"
"We need this win, James! Don't let us down!
The voices of people wishing him luck flowed quickly through his mind as he crumpled to the floor, head in his hands.
Don't let us down!
But he had. He'd let them down.
He could see the disappointment on his parents' faces, even as he saw them in the stands. He could sense Sirius's sadness as they hugged, both of their scarlet uniforms covered in sweat. He knew he'd fucked up. He'd disappointed them.
All he'd needed was one more goal.
The tears started falling as he replayed every aspect of the game, trying to think of when he could've scored. And there were so many mistakes he made. So many times he could've turned left instead of right, gone up instead of down. Merlin, it really was all his fault.
He didn't hear the footsteps approach until a hand rested on his shoulder.
"Jamie."
He would have known that voice anywhere. The voice of the only person he would ever let see him like this. The only person he wanted to see.
"I fucked up, Reggie," he mumbled, not even looking up.
"You're an idiot," Regulus replied, sliding down to sit with him.
Anyone who didn't know Regulus might have thought he was agreeing with James. But James knew him better. "Yeah?" he asked, chuckling through his tears. "Why am I an idiot this time?"
"Well first, those are dragonhide gloves," Regulus said disgustedly, gesturing to the gloves James had thrown.
James laughed again, wiping at his face.
"But second," Regulus said, softer now, "this isn't your fault."
"I'm the captain," James mumbled, resting his head against Regulus's shoulder, breathing in his comforting scent. "It was my job to-"
"It was your job to lead your team," Regulus interrupted, throwing James a stern look. "Did you lead your team?"
Silently, James nodded, knowing better than to argue.
"Exactly. McKinnon hit that Bludger so far it almost didn't come back! Smith scored from halfway down the Pitch! Sirius finally learned how to hold the damn bat! You led the best team in the damn league, James, and that's on you! And I'll kill you if you tell anyone I said you're the best, by the way," he added quickly as an afterthought.
"But we lost," James murmured, turning pink at the compliment.
"I caught the Snitch," Regulus shrugged, wrapping his green robes tighter over his body. "You lot may be the best team, but I'm the best Seeker."
James stared forward, allowing the words to sink in. "I should be happy for you," he whispered, guilt flooding through him all over again.
"As if I wouldn't have thrown a right fit if we'd lost," Regulus grinned, pressing a kiss to his head. I would've shut myself in my room and read poetry until you knocked down the door, like a right tit.
James snorted. "I...I feel like I let everyone down," he said, voicing the thought that ate at him. The thing that constantly made him worry.
"Well, did you let you down?" Regulus asked, grey eyes piercing through his misery. "Or did you try your hardest, and your talented, attractive, modest boyfriend just happened to beat your arse?"
Again he laughed. "Alright, point taken. I...I'm happy for you. I think."
"As you should be," Regulus laughed, but his tone was teasing.
James smiled, looking at Regulus with admiration.
"By the way," Regulus added softly, pressing another kiss to James's lips, "you didn't let anyone down. We love you for you, James. Not how many points you get in a stupid Quidditch Match."

Au where merthur have soulmate identifying mark but merlin is the only one who know they are because if Arthur knew he would find out about his magic 👀 (arthur's mark being a beautiful dragon mainly on on his back but its tall is draped on his torso, a wing stretch on his right shoulder, another end on his hip and its head rest upon his stomach. As if it were jealousy protecting him. its scale are of a blue so dark it nearly look black. It has golden eye and tread of gold on is horn, gold shimmer on its body highlighting its scale at some place.
It screams powerful sorcerer.)
And thus it doesn't change anything from the show. Merlin doesn't tell him not even at the very end (Merlin's mark is a smaller red dragon with its head on his shoulder and who is is holding itself on his shoulder)
It would be very angsty but also SO FUNNY if in a post return futur where arthur (Gwen, the knights) are very confuse and lost but luckily for them there exist multiple center for "People who got Teleported at the wrong place/Bought back from the dead? We are here to help!/ your five yo drank a weird potion? No problem! Etc" basically Magic help center.
Just imagine basic social worker sorcerers who tries to do their job at 3 am and see THE Emrys mark ™ on a random dude and they are like *gasp*.
Them : what the fuck
Arthur :???
Them :WHAT THE FUCK
the others :????
Them : we are calling your soulmate RIGHT NOW. WHAT THE FUCK should I call the government too???? I'M NOT PAY ENOUGH FOR THIS.
Arthur : my???
Them : YOU. DO NOT MOVE IF I LOSE YOU I'M DEAD. DEAD.
You can imagine arthur pendragon pacing like a 13 years old stressed before an oral presentation because even if he was afraid then thought he globally didn't really care about his soulmate. He realised that it wasn't so much that he didn't care but he thought it would simply never be so he just... Kinda forgot about it. Now he just can not put it away because is soulmate IS coming and WHERE IS MERLIN WHEN HE NEEDS HIM (he is blocking any thoughts about Merlin potential dead thank you very much)
(Gwen is currently finding the situation extremely funny because she figured out in 5x13 and she is 80 yo (in a younger body but still) . And she is waaaayyyyyy to old to see her former husband stay in his denial.
Leon is 78 years old and he is slowly recognising the dragon in question that look very much like Merlin's family crest. He is looking at his wife in a very conspiracy way.
Gwaine is currently not really giving a damn about the whole soulmate thing. What do you MEAN you can send messages to people in less that a second?!?!?
Elyan would usually not give a damn but he is very much not happy ™ to find out that his sister (first) husband had a soulmate mark who isn't dead and he is glaring at Arthur but he is also getting a hug from gwen so it doesn't look menacing at all.
Perceval (57) is right behind Gwaine but he is currently watching himself in the mirror because seeing his younger self again is weird asf
Meanwhile Lancelot is talking with the assistant (on the verge of a break down because they are going to see the GOD OF MAGIC OH MY GOD) about magical history

For your 200 follower celebration!
💋: I'd like one with with Sirius black! And the number... 58!!!
Congratulations to you on hitting 200! That ought to be a big achievement! I love your work BTW! Keep going!
Show Me
Pairing: Sirius Black x reader
Prompt: moving around while kissing, stumbling over things, pushing each other back against the wall/onto the bed
Word count: 678
Warning: suggestive content, implied smut
A/N: im sorry this has been sitting in my inbox forever 😅 trying to stretch my writing muscles by doing a few blurbs before i write the longer requests, thought i'd clear out my inbox while im at it! whoever you are, anon, i thank you for the support and i hope you enjoy the drabble if you see this!
It started as a date. You haven't seen your boyfriend in some time, and the moment your schedules aligned, Sirius declared in his usual fashion that he was taking you out on a date.
In hindsight, you should have known it would end this way, and... maybe you wanted it to. You're dressed in the outfit he loves so much on you, smiled so innocently at him when he came to pick you up and ignored the way his breath hitched the moment he laid eyes on you. Or... well, Sirius believes you're only pretending not to notice.
He hasn't been able to keep his hands off of you all evening. A hand on your back, fingers tracing shapes on your thigh before he forces himself to let up on you slightly, hand reaching for yours, stealing a kiss every chance he gets... even as you leave, he has an arm around your waist, holding you close, smudging a kiss to your hairline paired with softly murmured words you don't catch.
And now...
Now, his lips are on yours before you've even entered your apartment; you're still blindly fumbling for your keys and have to push him away, just for a moment, else you're sure you'll be standing outside all night. He looks confused for a moment, and hurt, but then you're flinging the door open, tugging him inside with you by his belt loops, and the pieces click.
He kicks the door shut with his foot. You barely have time to register the dull slam of the wood before he's pulling you into him—or maybe you're dragging him closer by your hand on his collar—and he's groaning out a "fuck, so fuckin' pretty, darlin', my gorgeous girl-" before your mouths meet again, hot and greedy and wanting.
Sirius backs you up as he kisses you, strong hand gripping your hip. He knows the layout of your apartment well, too well for the way he bumps you against the corner of the dining table to be anything but carelessness. To his credit, he apologizes when you wince, hand moving to soothe the sore spot, but you've already forgotten about the incident, too lost in the way he's kissing you.
God, how you love his kisses. He has a way of kissing you so sweetly, moreso than you expected of a man like him, and that sweetness isn't lost even as his kisses turn deeper, hungry and impatient. Sirius kisses you like he wants you, like you're special, makes you feel like you're valuable, like you're worth it, and... and of course he does, you're all those things to him-
You're not given time to dwell on it, though, not with the way he's filling every corner of your mind. Sirius has quite the personality, too much for some, but you love him all the more for who he is. And right now, he's your breathtakingly handsome boyfriend who's leaning over you, pressing you onto your bed as he settles between your legs, and now your breath is catching in your throat.
"Merlin, look at you. My stunning girlfriend. Most attractive woman I've ever seen," he breathes when he pulls back to simultaneously catch his breath and admire you. You look like a work or art to him, a goddess, with tousled hair and kiss-swollen lips, panting and reaching for him like you miss him even though he's right there. He obliges, his weight pressing you further into the mattress as his teeth graze your pulse, his mouth kissing its way back up to yours. "Bet you did in on purpose, tryin' to test my restraint... darlin', don't you know what uou do to me when you dress up all pretty like that?"
Breathless and not about to admit you chose your outfit with him in mind, though you're certain he knows, you only shrug, and you feel his lips quirk into a smirk just under your jaw.
"Oh, gorgeous, I'm gonna show you just what it does to me."
That he certainly did.

Coping
"I've got you. I've got you." Harry wrapped his arms around Draco's shaking body, holding him tight against his own chest. "Shhh. I've got you."
Draco sobbed in his arms, loud and ugly and unrefined. The sound of his sorrow made Harry's heart break. Harry lowered them to the ground until Draco was sitting between his legs, his back against Harry's chest. His hands went to pull at his hair, a negative response to stress. Harry grabbed his wrists to pull them away so he wouldn't harm himself.
"Draco, breathe. Breathe. It's ok," Harry said into Draco's shoulder.
Draco pulled his knees up to his chest. "I can't," he choked out between sobs, shaking his head. "I-I can't."
Harry felt tears begin to prickle his eyes and he willed them away. "Yes, you can, Draco. Come on. Breathe for me. In . . . Out . . . In . . . Out . . ." He exaggerated his breaths so his chest would move with each one, moving Draco with him.
Draco continued to sob and wail and hyperventilate, but Harry kept talking him through breaths until he seemed to start to try to mimick him.
"That's it. There you go," Harry encouraged, praising Draco for his efforts to calm down. "Just like that, Draco. Just keep breathing with me."
---
"Thank you," Draco said minutes after he'd calmed down, his voice cutting through the quiet, the only sound in the air their synchronized breathing.
Harry had let go of Draco's wrists to wrap his arms around his waist. "Always. It's what I'm here for."
Draco turned his head to get a glimpse of the man holding him, grounding him. His gaze was met with Harry's. He turned in the bracket of Harry's outstretched legs so they were chest to chest. He searched Harry's eyes and then kissed him, rough and heated.
"Woah," Harry said, breaking the contact. "What're you-" He broke off unsure of how he wanted to finish that question.
"Please," Draco said, peppering open-mouthed wet kisses to Harry's jaw and neck. "I need this. I need . . . something." He sucked on his skin where Harry's neck met his shoulder.
"I—" Harry started, his words lost in a soft groan when Draco dragged his teeth lightly against the sensitive patch of skin. "I—Draco, this isn't—I don't—Draco." He held his hands up awkwardly, unsure what to do.
Draco took Harry's hands and put them on his waist. "Shh. Stop talking and kiss me."
Harry pulled away, removing his hands from Draco's body again. "Draco, we can't."
"Why not?" Draco moved his hands under the hem of Harry's shirt, running his fingers over his abs. "Please," he breathed. His tongue darted out to lick his lips.
Harry couldn't stop his eyes from tracking the movement. He shook his head, regaining his focus. "Draco, why are you doing this?"
"Because I want to be distracted. So please, distract me." He leaned back in to kiss Harry again.
Harry wanted to give Draco exactly what he was looking for. His body was already responding to the touch of the other man—the man he'd been secretly in love with for months. It took more strength than he even knew he had to deny him when it was what they both wanted. "Draco." It came out as more of a moan than it was supposed to. "Draco," he tried again. "This isn't a good idea. Merlin, you make it hard to do the right thing."
"Then don't," Draco whispered seductively. He nipped playfully at Harry's earlobe.
Harry tilted his head to give Draco better access to his throat and felt a teardrop fall on his neck. He moved away again, standing this time to back out of Draco's reach entirely. "Draco, you can't use sex to avoid your feelings."
Draco stood so they were on the same level again. "Why not," he mumbled.
"I'm here for you, Draco. I'm not going anywhere. But I love you too much to let you do something unhealthy that you'll regret. I want you. Fuck, I want you. I have for a long time. But not like this."
Draco closed his eyes and let out a deep breath through his nose. He nodded and ran his hands through his hair. "Fine." He stormed off past Harry.
"Draco, wait. Where are you going?" Harry knew the answer. He wasn't sure why he asked when he knew he didn't want to hear it.
"If you won't fuck me until I forget how miserable I am, I'm going to go find someone who will." His expression was closed off. He turned on his heel to continue making his exit.
It hurt Harry to hear him say it. "Draco, please. This won't make you feel better. You know it won't."
"It will in the moment and that's all I want right now." He didn't even look back at Harry when he said it.
Harry felt tears begin to prickle his own eyes as he watched the man he loved, on his way to self destruct, to sleep with someone else. Harry felt like he might be sick at the thought of someone taking advantage of Draco's grief. He felt like he might be sick at the thought of Draco letting them.

People act like the oppression of magic users in that badly written show is somehow comparable to real-life oppression, which is actually insane. How could someone even think like that? Be serious.
And not to make it about me, but as someone who is actually real, is a religious minority, has been through real-life oppression because of it, lost people I personally know because of terrorism, and grew up hearing stories about the dictators that terrorized my people and what my parents went through living through a war, and what I go through on a daily basis—I think it’s very dehumanizing to get compared to a fictional religious minority from a badly written show. That’s actually dangerous and has harmed almost all of the characters with their "beliefs."
Do you think I or any other real-life minority hurt people with our beliefs? Are real-life minorities genuinely dangerous, or are we just hated because we exist? The magic ban, if it’s anything close to real life, would be like gun control or something, but in this case, people are born with guns attached to them I guess.
That being said, Arthur (or any character) hating magic when almost all of his encounters with it have been harmful to him ever since he was a kid is totally understandable. You’d be crazy to think it isn’t. It’s like expecting gun violence victims to not hate guns.
What’s even funnier is that some people think those who harmed him were some type of revolutionaries when almost every single magic user who appeared did it out of personal gain. Maybe blame the writers for making it hard to sympathize with these characters when every one of them literally proves Uther right. Like, okay, Edwin was right, Freya was just a poor girl (who was harmed by magic herself), Mordred was just a kid, and Kara was one of the only characters who were genuinely a revolutionary and wanted to free her people. But even then, they had to make her kill innocent civilians because according to the writers, you can't fight for freedom without being bad. But even if you set aside the few exceptions, was it revolutionary of Sophia to rape Arthur using her magic? Or was it revolutionary when Morgana did a similar thing to Gwen and shade Lancelot? No, it was just pure evil, a supernatural evil that no real-life person could even do, yet we get compared with them.
This of course isn't me saying Uther was right or that I support him or that their oppression is justified. It's just me saying stop acting like they are real or comparable to real-life people, because they aren't, and it's dehumanizing to be compared to them. And why don’t you go educate yourself on the real, ongoing genocides happening as you read this? Maybe try to help those people instead of acting like Arthur is real and the evilest villain to ever exist. Since you care so much about oppressed people, or does your activism only exist in fandom?
The levels some of you have reached with your inability to distinguish between reality and fiction are astounding. Your posts are starting to sound like people who like Arthur would ignore the suffering of real-life people in favor of the well-being of a dictator's son. Be real.
Also, just a side note: since a lot of you like to act as if Arthur is impossible to sympathize with, but is welling to sympathize with Merlin and forgive him for all the immoral actions he ever committed, I’m just gonna say realistically, if they were real, nobody would give a fuck about Merlin and his suffering. When a revolution comes, he would still be a fucking traitor in the eyes of the people. So yeah.

More stuff about my Merlin soulmate au:
Something I think I forgot to mention last time is that soulmates take comfort in the presence and physical contact of each other, feeling safe and content with them by their side.
The other kingdoms view Uther's policies on soulmates to be barbaric and cruel, and is a contributing factor to the tension and conflicts Camelot faces with the surrounding kingdoms.
Morgana still goes evil in this one lads, but with an important change of her anger being exclusively directed at Uther, Arthur, and Merlin. Gwen is her soulmate and she loves her, she wants Gwen at HER side. Her rage at getting a vision of Gwen becoming queen isn't because she is queen, but because she's ARTHURS queen (I do want to clarify that Gwen and Morgana's relationship in this au is platonic, but it only makes sense for Morgana to want one of her soulmates to rule beside her, and her other soulmates are her sister and a child)
So all the attempts on Gwen's life are gone (though both the shade plot and the dark tower might still be in play, but with the intention to get Gwen back all to herself, not to harm her)
(Merlin does not know Morgana is one of Gwen's other soulmates until after he poisoned her and Gwen let's slipped that she's really worried about Morgana, but at least she knows she's alive.)
(Gwen being Morgana's soulmate is a treasure trove of angst that I do plan on exploring fully)
The Coming of Arthur is going to be fun in regards to Morgana and Gwen (and Leon)
Morgana promising Gwen that no harm will come to her, not with her by her side.
"I know it's not fair of me to make you choose between soulmates, but Gwen, I can bring peace back to Camelot. Magic can be free again, soulmates cherished as they are supposed to be. Please, join me."
But the thing is, Morgana isn't just asking Gwen to choose between two halves of her soul. She knows both Leon and Merlin would never forsake Arthur, and if she chose Morgana, she would also lose both of them, not just Arthur. It's an unfair position to be in, an impossible situation (she chooses anyway. The Morgana she knew never would have ordered the death of innocent civilians to punish those who would not obey her. Something happened to the girl she loves, shes having trouble recognizing the holder of a piece of her soul)
(Gwen still goes to the dungeon to bring Leon food, though it goes a little differently, with Leon learning that Morgana is her soulmate. More on that in another post)
Arthur is going to repeal the laws against soulmates and magic as soon as he becomes king (he has been aware of Merlin’s status as a sorcerer for years and is unable to see how magic can be evil and corrupting when Merlin is one of the best people he knows and his soulmate to boot)
Due to most of them growing up under laws that prohibit talking about soulmates, it takes everybody far too fucking long to realize that they are all soulmates with each other cause no one says anything or compares notes.
I know its mean, but they finally figure it all out following Lancelot's death
(I have tried to figure out a way for him to survive but I really don't think he can)
(Poor Gwen all alone in Camelot breaking down while helping care for people because she feels Lancelot *die* with only Gaius to help her. No other soulmates available to hold her and help her feel a little less empty, a little less alone.)
Everyone experiencing the same pain and all knowing they just lost Lancelot leads to conversation.
Because while everyone in the group had been bonded with Lancelot, not everyone is bound together, which is totally possible, but Arthur knows he's soul bound to half this group, it would make sense to check if there's others in the group.
I will make a separate post about the events of the darkest hour cause I think this would get very long if I had it in here
Now, something I haven't gotten into yet is the magic part of soulmates (so far it's mainly been the destiny and social ramifications and interpersonal details)
Soulmarks are magic, and in some cases, an individual can develop a soulmate ability, a single ability that can be used in regards to exclusively one's bonded soulmates
Now these abilities vary in strength and specificity, some are dictated by touch, others apply no matter where they are in the world
Some soulmate abilities I've come up with thus far are:
The ability to always know what direction their soulmate is in relation to themself
The ability to know when their soulmate is lying to them, and a more broad varient of always knowing when they are lying period
The ability to always instinctually know what it is their soulmate truly means when they speak (I'm very tempted to give this to Gwen because I think it would make things interesting with Morgana, but I am worried it might break things a bit)
The ability to know what their soulmate is feeling emotionally by looking at them or touching them (I think I'm going to give this one to Leon?)
An ability confined to touch that brings to the soulmate's attention what their body most needs at that moment. (It's requires intent to be put into use, and it doesn't necessarily make the soulmate do that thing? It's not compulsory. It's more "Hey you're fucking exhausted you need sleep," or "Crying sounds so nice right now," or "Dude, EAT," and they can still fight these things, if they choose to, but those things are now at the forefront of their attention (making them more likely to be heeded))
Now, an ability I've thought EXTENSIVELY about:
A very rare and (before Uther nuked everything having to do with magic and soulmates) coveted ability that allows someone to, through constant touch, share their life force with their dying soulmate in order to keep then alive.
So say, for example, somebody (Soulmate A) is actively bleeding out from a fatal wound. The soulmate with the ability (Soulmate B) would have to touch soulmate A, skin to skin contact, and have this desperation, determination that soulmate A will not die, they won't let them.
Now, a couple things would happen.
One: Soulmate B's soulmark on Soulmate A's skin would move in some way to the point of injury (the method may vary depending on what their mark looks like. Like if the mark was a flower, the stem may extend and the mark itself stays stationary, or if it's something that's alive it would just fully move) and start "healing" the wound
Healing being in quotes because
Two: The injury is really being transferred partially to Soulmate B, enough so that the injury to Soulmate A is no longer immediately fatal, for the duration that they keep contact with Soulmate A. This buys Soulmate A time to be healed properly, but if the underlying injury is not healed in a timely manner, both Soulmate A and B could die.
Healing Soulmate A would also heal Soulmate B, as it was never truly their injury (though it sure feels and acts like it, and can be just as deadly if help isn't gotten in time.)
Because this ability is so inherently magic and is considered a spell, Soulmate B, even if they have the capacity to use other magic, can not cast a healing spell while using this spell, as it's only possible to cast one spell at a time.
I am naturally giving this ability to Merlin.
But the thing about abilities like this one is that it's impossible to know if you have it or not until the situation calls for it for the first time. It's impossible to know until your soulmate is dying right in front of you. Until you reach out and wish with every fiber in your being that they survive and they DO
The other thing about this ability? It can only be used once per soulmate. One get out of death free card and that's it
I haven't fully figured out if the dark tower would still happen, but if it does, Merlin would discover this ability saving Elyan's life (with the help of the knights who have to on the fly learn healing magic or else lose *both* of them)
That's going to be it for this post as it's starting to get long, but I have other posts I'm already working on. Also, if anyone has any questions, ideas, or suggestions in regards to this au, please feel free to send them my way!

Im thinking about writing post canon merwaine fic. gwaine survived but lost his memory and travels around albion trying to figure out what happened the past years he can't remember. merlin gave arthur farewell and is trying to find a will to keep living (literally bc suicide kinda failed - immortality :///) and while kilgarrah said arthur will return he said no specifics and he lied before so can he trust him? can he trust anything? can he trust himself? what is even the point of arthur rising again? plan albion failed why should the problems of future be his burden too? he has so much blood on his hands along with blood that hasn't been born yet but will be shed because the kingdoms weren't united and anyway people die all the time what's the difference if they die sooner or later they die after all (unlike him) (((he's soooo off the rails))). he doesn't want to see anyone because what's the point what's the point. he isn't close to gwen anymore and can't go back just to confess his failure again. he starts to think about what if he didn't listen to gaius at the start would the results be different? there's nothing for him but then he stumbles across gwaine in a small town and when he finds out he doesn't remember anything hes so happy. at least someone he cares about who isn't burdened by his mistakes, gwaine has a chance to start again and be actually happy but merlin can't get himself to leave him and what if something happened so he sticks around and joins gwaine on his adventures. it's starting to become another arthur situation for him, coddling a man he cares about from anything that could hurt him. but unlike arthur gwaine is perceptive and doesn't let merlin do that. instead he wants to understand him, first because he thinks merlins hot and then because he just doesn't make sense and is soooo messed up but he feels it in his bones it's his duty to make that strange guy happy. then something happens in the town. and while merlin helps gwaine help the people and solve the terrifying mystery (because would he otherwise? maybe? would it change anything?) he slowly learns again what it means to be human and not have every action dictated by forces out of this world. slowly learns again how it feels to recognize right from wrong, how to be a person whose existence isn't dependent on another
it sounds kinda cornyyy when I write it out like that but basically imagine gwaine as character written by t kingfisher and merlin as one by gillian flynn. it would be veeeery psychological and dark in the sense of exploring how merlin would feel after canon with gwaine lightening the mood with his more optimistic perspective.
anyway Would anyone be interested in this bc while I love the idea Im not native english speaker 🤓🤓 and refuse to put in the effort if noone will read it (googling every other fucking word to check if I use it correctly is annoying I have better use for my time). and while I enjoy psychoanalyzing merlin combining it with coherent plot will be tricky (but still fun) (but it would be bigger project so yeah I don't work for free I need like 1 compliment a day)

Her brother had been murdered by her husband when his resentment and anger led Vhagar to attack Luke, Aemma had learned that no matter how her visions plague her no one fucking listens and worst of all, that you cannot expect people to give you the loyalty you give them in return.
Aemond had promised eternal love to her, wed her despite his mother’s intent to drive them apart and she’d given him a son hoping that blood would be enough to stay the swords that came flying out after his father’s death.
Aemond who was made for her as she was made for him, who loved her since they were small children and wed her with fire and blood so that if they die in the war they reincarnate as lovers in their next lifetime.
But it was not enough.
She was not enough.
Harwin’s bastard sister, Alys, had become his paramour, impregnated her and worse still, he treated her as if he loved her.
That night Aemma wished he’d die in his duel with Daemon as she cried into her pillow.
But he did not die.
Vhagar died from her wounds, but Aemond managed to get himself loose and toss Daemon off him as their dragons fell into the Gods’ Eye.
Silverwing was the last of the castle dragons unless you counted Rhaena’s hatchling, and the egg little Aemon had been given by his father before he was even born.
They marched to Kingslanding expecting a hero’s welcome, thinking she’d be foolish enough to allow him inside with his whore and his bastard in tow.
But he was wrong, everyone who believed her a foolish little girl would be proven wrong.
“Have Prince Aemond allowed inside the city, but not his whore.” Aemma ordered and eschewed Queen Alysanne’s crown in favor of the one Queen Visenya wore.
She had Aegon the Conqueror’s Crown, but it was not meant for her as was the one her mother and grandsire inherited from Jaehaerys.
This was a new dynasty, after all Aemma was born a Velaryon with dark eyes and dark skin of the Merlin King’s daughter, Melusine and the silvery hair of Raemond the Valyrian, the first King of Driftmark.
She was as much a dragon as she was a sea horse, something even her husband forgot.
Aemma supposed they were all long overdue a reminder.
Tumblr media
While he has come to love Alys and owes his life to her, the sight of Kingslanding is enough to remind him where his priorities stand.
And when the orders came that Alys be forbidden to enter the city, Aemond didn’t hesitate to obey knowing his true family was the one inside the walls not outside of it.
The witch knew he would never marry her and the babe ---if it’s born at all given her age and history--- would be a bastard sent to the Wall, to the Faith or the Citadel where he wouldn’t be seen nor cause trouble. Alys would be provided for as long as she remembers his place and their affair over.
Aemma could order her death if she pleased as it was her legal right as his wife and queen.
There was no use to Alys now that the war was over and he was king consort, besides he would have many more children with Aemma who would be of the right blood anyways.
It was a cruel fate for Alys, but she was his lover not his wife and she knew how the world works.
The ruins of the Dragonpit loom over as a testament of the war’s cruelty as he rides through with no parade or anything to show who he was.
People had lost their fear of him even after he defeated Daemon because unlike his wife, he no longer had a dragon nor an army. People had lost their respect for him when they learned the rumors of Alys being true.
They sneered at him, pelted him with rotten food and called him every name under the sun.
Even his mother wasn’t spared in the smallfolk’s insults.
But Aemma was adored, seen as the beautiful princess who avenged her mother by killing his brother with her dragon as mother was forced to watch.
Seen as the rightful ruler, as the savior of the realms and their family.
Aemond supposed he deserved some of it, but really, they act as if he was the first man to take a whore during wartime.
No matter, after he swears fealty to his wife ---who will forgive him for sure--- and is instated in his rightful place by her side he will make them all pay for this disrespect.
“I promised you I wouldn’t die, my queen.” The prince cannot help but smile when he sees her on the Throne.
His beautiful wife with thick slivery ringlets and lilac eyes wearing the red and black of House Targaryen.
Aemond almost forgives her for having him presented to her court as Prince Aemond the Kinslayer.
“That was the one promise you kept, husband.” She replied with a steely look in her eyes.
So his infidelity had hurt more than he had assumed it would. Aemond cared deeply for his wife, but he had spent an entire year without her, and he wasn’t made of stone.
Alys had been there to fill in the blank and help him cheat the Stranger if he kept her as his paramour. He came to care for her too, but never as much as he did for the girl he wed twice.
“And for that I intend to apologize for till the end of my days, my love.”
Aemma had always been the one he would love until his last breath and the only person Aemond would grovel at her feet for her forgiveness.
“Shall I prove it to you by swearing my oath to you, my wife and queen?” he asked taking Dark Sister, the sword he had claimed the night he survived the God’s Eye.
His own sword, the one Aemma had her grandsire find in Essos, had been lost in the water along with Vhagar, but Visenya’s Blade was more than adequate to replace it.
“You may.” The queen does not appear to have been moved, her dragon’s blood had shone through and provided the armor that led her to survive all their family.
But underneath the steel lies the soft beating heart of the girl he loved; all he must do was crack its hardened shell.
Tumblr media
For all her claims of being strong, Aemma feels herself pathetically weak.
He speaks as if nothing had changed, as if he didn’t break her heart a thousand times even before he took the whore for his lover.
She doesn’t want to forgive him, even if the remaining greens demand he remain her husband and consort as part of their surrender.
There are no feasts, no sign of celebration about his return to her.
They are to have a quiet reunion and he will see the babe on who’s life he had sworn on when he promised her he wouldn’t kill her little brother.
She hates him.
She loved the boy he was but hates the man who stands before her thinking she would forgive him.
It pains Aemma to know their love was never meant to be anything but a tragedy, even as Aemond holds his son in his arms and the sapphire eye cries just as it would if it had been a real one.
Their son sleeps in the cradle they shared as babes, and it is the fact that he looks and even sounds like the boy she wed that has her hand shaking.
It is a wonder his dagger has not fallen from her hands.
“I am sorry for waking him, Aemee, I just couldn’t resist holding him after so long.” He apologized as he had tried to do earlier before she left the room claiming to have a meeting with the new stewards.
But the truth is she left because she cannot forgive him.
His touch revolted her, his mouth had tasted of the blood he spilled and made her spill and the mere idea of having to live with the man who trampled everything she gave him under his foot had made her realize what she had to do.
She was never meant to rule with her true love beside her, she was never meant to be happy, and he was never meant to live while her brothers are dead.
“Kill him!” Luke’s voice hissed in her ears.
“Avenge me and yourself, sister!” the ghost was joined by others who died because Aemond wasn’t man enough to stand against his fucking mother.
She doesn’t know when she raised the knife, Aemma barely registered what she had done when she plunged it into Aemond’s back.
“Aemma, what are you doing?!” He is shocked and bleeding and yet not fast enough to stop her from plunging it a second time as he tries to stop her.
“Aemee, please, this isn’t you!” He tries as the blood comes out of his wounds and yet she manages to stab and slash his torso as he fought her.
He tries not to use force, fearing he might hurt her, and she gives into her hysteria as she takes advantage of his pain and injuries to kill him.
“Aemma, I’m sorry!” he cries out before she dealt the final blow.
Aemma sobs violently and finally lets the knife fall from her hands.
The guards find her cradling his bloody corpse as she cries like she has never done so before. Her baby son echoes her cries as bloody as his parents on the nursery's floor.
The queen only hears the guards send for her grandfather and the maesters as she grieves for herself and Aemond and all they could have been if it hadn’t been for the fucking war.
“I love you, I’m sorry!” she begs the corpse with his face frozen in horror at knowing what she did.
“I killed him, I killed him, I killed him!” she sobs violently as her grandfather tries to pry her off Aemond’s body.
“You didn’t, the whore did, she wanted to kill the three of you because he discarded her as all men do.” The Seasnake takes control as any Hand would do and before evening the nursery is spotlessly clean and Aemond’s body wrapped in linen atop a pyre.
As far as anyone knows, Alys Rivers had snuck into the nursery with her so called magic and murdered the prince consort when she couldn’t kill her.
As far as anyone knows the queen was his loving wife until the end and no one mourns him as much as she does as she pressed her lips to his one last time.

What’s the point of the Isle if Red was born in Wonderland and not on the Isle? What’s even the point of Auradon Prep if there’s Merlin Academy with some of the villains and heroes going to school together? What’s the point???
"What's the point???"-A perfect summary of Disney Descendants nowadays. Seriously, the fact that they changed Red to having been born and raised in Wonderland when prior Descendants stuff alluded to the Queen of Hearts having been on the Isle...like what is the point of doing that??? Queen of Hearts could still be wanting to get revenge on Auradon even with Isle backstory, hell that might add to her reasons for revenge, since I'm pretty sure taking Wonderland People out of...well, Wonderland, would drive them insane as its the one place they thrive in and now they've been removed from it and are stuck in a prison and well...I can only imagine Queen of Hearts getting worser because of the Isle. (Seriously, even Ever After High addressed how wonderland people feel when unable to return to Wonderland, aka they feel lost and such in a world that isn't made to understand them...granted they also had the better Queen of Hearts design and better name for her kid but). There is literally no point to removing Queen of Hearts from the Isle and having Red born and raised in Wonderland beyond messing stuff up in Descendants even more (seriously, the prequel book could have been Red and her mom getting control of Wonderland back...not whatever you call the actual plot of the prequel book). Also they actually expect you to believe Red WITH the wonderland backstory, is somehow 'whip smart' and Chloe Charming is the naïve one...when I'm pretty sure the wonderland girl would be the naïve one actually while Chloe Charming would be the smart one??? Especially if Red somehow thinks the Isle was appealing just because it had no rules...
And Merlin Academy...oh one of the many banes of my existence...just...can we call it what it is: Ever After High rip off that also breaks a shit ton of continuity in Descendants??? Because similar to Ever After High, its a school that future heroes and future villains attend...that also leads to the fact that Descendants can no longer be based on the animated films like they claimed to be, because how the fuck would I dunno, Cinderella work if she attended the same school as Prince Charming??? Especially as animated Cinderella was put to work by her step family as soon as her dad died so there'd be no time for school??? How does Aladdin even work now when in the animated film, Jasmine has never been allowed out of the palace because of her over-protective father and has to sneak out and literally met Aladdin for the first time in the animated film...when according to Rise of Red, she and Aladdin BOTH attended school together and also dated in school, which??? HOW DOES THE PLOT OF ALADDIN WORK NOW THEN- and just, why the fuck is HADES of all bitches in the school??? Doesn't he have an underworld to rule??? Or is Disney gonna ditch mythology accuracy completely now??? And I guess Beast in Descendants got cursed as an adult if he attended a school, so rip that 'cursed as a child' implication from animated Beauty And The Beast- and lord, imagine your classmate in the future imprisoning your dad and you having to switch places with your dad, if Belle is attending the school as well. Maleficent....as long as its Leah and Stefen attending Merlin Academy with her I won't scream as much....if its Aurora and Phillip though, screaming time- and just, again, like Belle and Beast, Fay is just, I guess, seeing her classmate deal with family abuse and doing nothing for her when she's the classmate's future fairy godmother.
And also just because they apart of Merlin Academy: Morgie, son of Morgana Le Fay...where the fuck she been? Disney literally did not include her in Sword of The Stone, so where she come from? Also shit name for her son, not as shit as Red, but you know, its up there. Zellie, daughter of Rapunzel...third Rapunzel kid in Descendants lets go...but also hoping she's a time traveller because uh...how else is Razpunel's daughter in Merlin Academy with the future heroes and villains??? Ulyana...another sister of Ursula because using Morgana (Little Mermaid 2) was hard I guess...also comes with a 'whats the point' but a big one this time: what was the point of bating us with Dara Renee playing Chloe, only to reveal Dara is playing Ulyana and someone (with lighter skin tone then Dara) else is playing Chloe? What was the point of doing that beyond being iffy? And Hook...nothing to say on him...I just don't have anything on him, he's the least of Rise of Red's problems, he's just connected to one, aka Merlin Academy and the time travel plot (I'm not starting on that one because that'll be along ass rant...).
So yeah, like said: What's the point- perfect summary of Disney Descendants nowadays.

Say what you will about Arthur and his utter lack of game, but always appreciate the fact this man looked at Morgana, duchess of drip, and decided a dagger would be the best gift for her.
And when it was pointed out that it might not be her style, he went "ah shit you right" and just had the fucking thing tricked out. That was his solution. That was his thought process. Not that a knife was inappropriate, but that it needed to be a custom piece. No basic bitches in this household.
Mans said "what shall I get my significant annoyance this year?", shook his braincell like a Magic 8 Ball, and came up with "knife."
We stan one princely himbo.
ngl i like to use this as proof for Arthur and Morgana being so close and knowing each other so well because i have such a soft spot for my pendragon siblings 🤧
(thoughts under the cut bc….*coughs* i suffer from pendragon sibs brainrot)
listen, listen to me: these guys really did only have each other when they were younger and surrounded by nobody but stuffy nobles and an emotionally repressed/abusive father. Arthur lost his mother king before he got to know her, and Morgana lost a father whom she knew and loved so dearly. they were children who never really got to grieve what was lost from them (although, in some way, Morgana was given some time to grieve and mourn but never for too long).
Arthur has known Morgana for her spunk and rebellious nature against the status quo King Uther enforces since they were children. She was always trying to learn to fight (see her bragging about beating Arthur when they were younger in 1x10) and probably taught herself secretly how to use a sword (or had some help as well 👀 but that’s just a headcanon). She was always at odds with Uther about magic (while Arthur would receive severe punishment for disagreeing with his father, Morgana’s anguish was treated like the flights of a lady’s emotions).
It would be offensive (towards Morgana) if Arthur were to ever gift her something so stereotypical and stuffy on her birthday. He most likely knew that she would have wanted something to use to protect herself: ergo, dagger.
Fuckinnnnnnng, read what Arthur says about his gift omfg 🫠
ARTHUR Beautiful, isn't it? Feel the balance, feel the sharpness of the blade.
I AM PUNCHING THE WALLS 🫠🫠🫠🫠
This man put so much thought and care into this gift for her. Listen, she was his first friend, the first person to not treat him like he was fragile or the fault of his mother’s demise. She was Arthur’s sister before he even knew that’s how he saw her and their relationship. Morgana meant so much to him, your honor, I fucking can’t. They loved each other so much despite the gradual rift that he gained when we first meet them in s1, your honOR—
But then you have Merlin’s comment:
MERLIN Well, I'm no expert, but don't women normally go for pretty things? Like, maybe, jewellery?
(yes he said this as a way to deter Arthur from sticking with a dagger bc of the vision he saw but still)
And so Arthur Dumb-of-ass & bi-of-sexual Pendragon takes Merlin’s advice, realizes that yeah, Morgana still likes feminine things like dressed and jewelry and pretty shit. LET ME BEDAZZLE THIS DAGGER JUST FOR HER
LOOK AT IT
Tumblr media
THE FUCKING PENDRAGON COLORS YIU CHEEKY FUCK ARTHUR 🤧 AND LOOK AT HER REACTION TO IT
Tumblr media
SHE LOOKS ENTRANCED BY IT???? MAYBE TOUCHED (<- fluffy is reaching, she has gone insane) MAYBE EVEN CONSIDERING THAT ARTHUR DOES CARE AND MAYBE SHE COUOD TURN HIM AGAINST UTHER TO JOIN HER???? (<- fluffy.exe is suffering malfunctions. delusion file has been corrupted)
Literally every other noble gifted her a fancy hairbrush (those fucking posers) and you would think! With how much this show presents Arthur as emotionally repressed and very obtuse when it comes to women, you would think they would regress his character (again) to make a joke out of him (again) not knowing what to give Morgana for her birthday
BUT THEY DONT!!!!
NO! THEY SHOW HIM BEING CONFIDENT IN HIS DECISION FOR IT TO BE A DAGGER THEN NERVOUS ABOUT HIS CHOICE BC MAYBE IT’S NOT A GOOD DAGGER THEN PROUD BECAUSE NOW IT IS A BEDAZZLED DAGGER
WHAT THE FU—
Not only that, BUT SHE TAKES THE DAGGER WITH HER WHEN MEETING MORGAUSE (s3’s big bad villain who is the new up-and-coming High Priestess after Nimueh, whom Merlin smited (smote? smitten?) and does not give any fucks about Uther or Arthur. Both could just die for all she cares.)
Tumblr media
I would never lie to you. Transcript speaks the truth. Also, what other dagger would they speak about??? It’s Arthur’s gift and she was so touched by it that she decided to use it for her nefarious schemes of regicide!
OH YEAH AND AFTER THIS WHEN SHE’S IN A COMA YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT ARTHUR SAID
ARTHUR To lose her now, like this...I've grown up with her, she's like a sister to me. I'd sacrifice my place on the throne for her to see another sunrise.
*deep breath*
Tumblr media
So much shit could have been avoided if these dumbass Pendragons just talked to each other T^T Jfc, Arthur loves those close to him so deeply. He is so loyal to them that it blinds him, that he would willingly give up anything just to keep them alive and happy.
ough, yeah I’m okay (<- liar)

Easter drabble
Pairing: bunny hybrid!Seonghwa × witch afab!reader
Summary: You went back to Wonderland to do your oldest sister a solid. You came back with the cutest bunny ever
Warning(s): Cursing, mentions of being controlled and manipulated, mentions of hunting and killing
Genre: Fluff with a bit of angst. But mainly fluff
Nets: @mirohs-aurora-society
"Why the fuck are we in Wonderland again?" You asked your sister as you walked alongside both her and your other sister. "It's not for me. It's for Zelena. Lately, she's been stressed since she feel she hasn't given little Robin the childhood she deserves even though it isn't true." Regina explained.
You were the youngest of the Mills family. Regina Mills was the middle child, the mayor of Storybrooke and the Good Queen. Zelena Mills was the oldest of the three of you and the Wicked Witch. The Good Witch was already taken so Zelena stuck to her original title despite not being wicked anymore.
"I mean the little girl seems fine to me. She's always smiling and telling me how Zelena is a good mom. So why go through all this trouble?" You asked Regina and the queen shrugged. "I'm not too sure honestly. But hey. She did help us with that one mission so consider this like an IOU or something." You nodded firmly and shrugged off any more questions you had.
As you trekked through the seemingly restored landscape, you tried to lock away the painful memories that pertained to this realm.
There was a reason you ran away from here and became a wanderer.
You zoned out for a few minutes until you heard a twig snap. You immediately stood back-to-back with Regina as you both summoned fireballs in your hands. You were alert and prepared. Something rustled in the tall grass above you and the two of you set your eyes on it.
"I know you don't need the reminder since you grew up here, but be prepared, sis. Just because this realm is ruled by good people now doesn't mean that the dangers here stopped lurking around." Regina advised you and you nodded firmly in agreement. A head popped out of the grass and you were ready to aim
Until you saw two large pink bunny ears poking out of the top of the critter's head. Or should I say
The hybrid's head.
You were no stranger to hybrids, but Regina was. Hence why you stepped in between her and the quivering bunny. His big boba like eyes were shiny and almost brimming with tears. He seemed so lost and you'd punch yourself if you ever saw a tear go down his pretty face.
"Let me handle this."
Regina nodded slowly and diminished her fireball before stepping away a bit upon hearing your voice. You stepped forward and the bunny relaxed a bit yet remained apprehensive at your form.
He knew you. Or knew of you. After all, you still remained the most powerful person in all of Wonderland. His fluffle cowered in fear every time you walked past them. They heard rumors that you changed. They didn't believe it. Or at least half of his fluffle didn't believe it. Three other bunnies believed it. He was the only one that was debating.
Until you reached out and pet his ears, lightly patting down the soft pink fur.
The bunny relaxed under your touch and started thumping his foot a bit. His tail twitched and he visibly relaxed. He cursed himself internally for giving in so easily. Then again, he was a bunny. And perhaps his subconscious wanted to trust you.
"Hey. I'm sorry if we both scared you. We're on a mission right now and we happened to run into you. You know who we are huh?" You saw the bunny nod cutely, finding it endearing as his ears flopped along with his head.
"She's the Good Queen and you're the Demonic Ace."
A weak chuckle escaped at your title and he grew afraid since he thought you were going to smite him for messing up. When you saw the fear in his eyes, you sighed. "I may be the Demonic Ace, but I've turned my life around. Merlin cured me of my self-inflicted curse and our mother is long gone. So it's ok. We're the good guys now."
Regina saw the way you looked heartbroken and her own heart felt pain when your voice wavered as you tried to reassure him that you were a good person. Cora may have turned her life around in the Underworld, but it didn't excuse the pain and torture you went through when you used to live here and make Wonderland a living hell thanks to her. Stepping forward, it was her turn to speak.
"You look like you're on the run from something. May we help?" She asked him gently and he nodded quickly. He pointed behind him and whispered shakily.
"The Queen of Hearts may be gone, but some of her card soldiers still remain since they don't like the new rulers. They went rogue and they're rabid. Like... Lost Boy rabid."
You grimaced and you felt your powers rise to the surface of your palms. However, you remained calm. "Where's the rest of your fluffle? The queen will protect you. Are they hunting you down?" He quickly nodded.
"Our leader was taken by them and they won't stop until they kill all of us. Please help me!" He was crying now and you felt the urge to hug him yet you stood still and just watched him with sad eyes. Then he surged forward and hugged you tightly, which caught you off guard. Nonetheless, you hugged him back and glared at Regina when she sent you a teasing look.
"What's your name and what's your leader's name? We will help you." You asked the pink bunny and tried not to blush when the sweet critter nuzzled his face in the crook of your neck.
"Our leader's name is Hongjoong. My name is Seonghwa."
You smiled at him gently and held his face carefully when the bunny looked at you with shiny eyes. "Well it's nice to meet you, Seonghwa. The queen's name is Regina and I'm Y/N. Now go with her and lead her to where the rest of your fluffle is. I'll track down the card soldiers and rescue your leader. Ok?" The bunny nodded and reluctantly let you go.
"Be careful please."
You cooed softly at the way he was so concerned about you and you patted the top of his head gently. He giggled and you just about combust with cute aggression.
"I will."
With that, you teleported to the deepest parts of Wonderland to rescue this proclaimed leader of the hybrid's fluffle.
---------------------------------------------------
It was a mess.
Well, the rescue went fine. You took down the card soldiers with ease.
It was getting the orange furred bunny back to the location of Seonghwa's fluffle that made it a mess.
Hence, the way that Seonghwa was scolding Hongjoong when you came back with him covered in bites and scratches. Regina was busy telling tales of her adventures to the other bunnies to quell their fears while you were in the corner healing your wounds. After the loudness settled down, you saw a familiar head of pink fur hop over to you and sit in front of you. You smiled weakly upon seeing his pout when he gave you a once-over.
"Joong sends his apologies. He would've done it himself like I advised him to, but he feels embarrassed." He took the rag from you and patted your face gently.
Those card soldiers were a bit strong.
"It's ok. I forgive him. And I don't really blame him for what he did to me. But hey. At least I proved to the rest of your fluffle that I'm trustworthy."
Seonghwa nodded and hugged you again. "Thank you for protecting us." He said softly as he rubbed your back. "It's no problem. All within a day's work I guess." You reassured him. He then looked at you. His eyes were sparkling with wonder.
"Is Storybrooke nice? My fluffle and I heard about that place and we tried to find a way to get there but to no avail." You nodded and he smiled. "Can we go with you and Regina? Please?!" You were about to answer when you saw the others crowd around you with sparkling eyes as well. You saw the approval on Regina's face and nodded when you looked at him once again.
"Yes you can."
---------------------------------------------------
That was months ago. You recalled that day randomly as you sat in your new apartment that overlooked the quaint town of Storybrooke. As you stood there and leaned against the railing of your balcony, you felt a pair of arms wrap around your waist and you saw the familiar mop of pink fur nuzzle your neck and give light kisses.
You fell in love with Seonghwa and he returned your feelings.
"Hey."
He muttered against your skin and you greeted him back softly.
"Did you finally escape little Robin trying to tug at your ears after screaming over the fact that the Easter bunny does indeed exist in excitement?" You teased him and he blushed in embarrassment.
"Yeah. The rest of the guys are currently hiding right now. Did you seriously have to tell Zelena's kid that there were eight Easter bunnies? I figured this favor we're doing for you was easy but it isn't. And it doesn't help that Wooyoung is being a little shit by helping her, especially with Yeosang."
"Well can you blame her? Orange, pink, blue, purple, yellow, black, and brown are pretty common colors for bunny hybrids. But indigo? That's rare."
As you listed off the fur colors of Hongjoong, your lover, Yunho, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho, you can't help but giggle at the thought of poor Yeosang and his uniquely colored indigo fur. Seonghwa simply sighed and held you closer to him.
"Happy Easter, my jack of spades."
"Happy Easter, bun."

Descendants- Entry #2: The Villains
I'm going to make a quick analysis of the Villains as parents and of their character in Descendants
The Villains
Maleficent
Maleficent's character is quite solid during D1, her being based off in her counterpart of the animated movie, even when we see her in Merlin Prep we can see that counterpart of hers.
What I don't understand is why they didn't use her counterpart's past from the Maleficent movie (2014) that would've been even more gut wrenching since it would've added depth for both her versions. But, utilizing her version of the Maleficent movie wouldn't make sense for her to be a bad mother (given that we see her being like a mother to Aurora).
Evil Queen
For me, the best interpretation of the Evil Queen was Regina from UOAT, she was misunderstood and had a stronger affinity with magic (and better character development).
We don't see that much of her during D1, but the little we see about her, I interpreted her as a mother that tried to do her best, who tried to get past that 'fairest of them all' thing to be a better mother to Evie, even tho we later learn that Evie was scared of her mother.
For me, the Evil Queen was the best parent between all the villains, who was proud of her daughter because of everything she could do and become, but thought that her daughter would only gain success if she married someone with royal lineage, which made her the kind of mother who a daughter would think that she'd never make proud.
Jafar
The biggest mistake that D1 made was making him have a kid (even tho I love Jay and his fantastic) and that he could live in a house with two teenager girls (I think that everyone was weirded out by the scene where Jafar kissed Jasmine).
But other than that he would just ignore the existence of a son and would just use him to make his dirty bid.
Cruella De Vil
Cruella being one of the big bads in D1 didn't make any sense, she isn't considered a fairy tail nor had magic to make others so afraid of her (but the , só having her as one of the 'absolute rulers' of the Isle of the Lost didn't make sense.
Hades
Hades being the CEO of daddy issues is so funny to me (since his dad literally ate him), and he didn't even apologize to Mal for draining her magic.
Other than that he was a fantastic character and was really coherent with his animated version (plus the way he was portrayed in D3 was super good, because that was exactly how I would imagine Hercules' Hades in a modern setting)
Ursula
With what we know about Ursula (basing in her tentacle appearance in D2 and Uliana whole personality and actions) is that she's someone that both her daughter and her sister looked up to her, wanting to be her (Uma wanting her mother's influence and Uliana wanting her sister's power).
We cannot determine if she was a good mother to Uma, but we can determine that she had that sisterly relationship with Uliana where both of you are a pain in the other ass.
Captain Hook
Same goes with Hook, we don't know if he was a good father, but we can speculate that Harry looked up to him (since he tries to act like his father) and that he was a rather ambitious man (D4 Hook).
As a character, younger Hook having already lost his has was like "where TF is this kids parents", my man already had beef with Peter Pan (and the probability of Peter being a goddamn baby is too funny for me).
Dr. Facilier
Facilier being a good dad to Celia is cool as fuck, I, personally, can't think of him as a girl dad, but is rather good his relationship with Celia.
And his character is not consistent when we compare him with his animated version. I just hoped we saw more about him.
Drizella and Lady Tremaine
Drizella not appearing was a crime and Lady Tremaine trying to be a good grandma (D3) did make sense, but them trying to redeem her in D3 didn't make sense.
Lady Tremaine character was consistent in ROR, but in D3, it wasn't that much.
Mr. Smee
Him being a good dad made sense, we know shit about his version in Descendants

So who among the Arthurian characters is into cottagecore? Morgan has to be right?
hi!
you know what i'm gonna have to disagree. i don't think morgan's affiliation to magic and nickname "le fay" are enough, especially bc she prides herself on a lofty status that elevates her above the humble rural living that cottagecore romanticizes. i mean here she is in the vulgate proclaiming herself a king's daughter (isn't she the daughter of duke gorlois?) while she prepares to kill her husband and get away with it.
Tumblr media
queen shit. here are some characters i think would be into cottagecore.
arthur: when thomas berger wrote him as loving his simple life in wales with his family and sleeping out with the dogs and genuinely relishing his modest upbringing with his foster brother? i felt that.
blanchefleur: she definitely named herself "white flower" after her own garden's award winning blossoms at the county fair. she bottles it for perfume too, if you're interested. perceval always keeps a little vial around his neck so he can smell it and think of her while on quest or when he gets lost on his way to take out the trash. thanks wifey.
brangaine and palamedes: whether or not she can actually achieve this lifestyle whilst in the service of isolde, she definitely dreams of fleeing to the countryside with palamedes. it also makes his commute shorter (cottage is on the edge of the enchanted woods in which the questing beast roams).
culhwch and olwen: after the nightmarish tasks they underwent just to get married they absolutely retired far away from court life where those shenanigans wouldn't reach their children.
dindrane: she's the quintessential nun, one who didn't learn necromancy. she enjoys all the typical stuff expected in a remote hermitage; gardening, baking, making wine, going on an adventure bilbo style complete with chaotic means and tragic ends, bird watching.
fisher king and elaine: since the queen passed away they just want more father and daughter bonding time out on the boat to fish. they catch dinner in their little pond and take it home to cook and go to sleep happy. they do the same thing again the next day without any obligations besides living. nothing bad happens.
green knight and wife: pretty sure they invented cottagecore or at least introduced the concept into the realm. they have their own line of cottagecore starter kits with little seeds to grow personalized mini gardens for a country oasis even in the discomfort of your monarch-sanctioned barracks. so what if the plants they sell are annuals and you have to buy a new one every year. aren't you committed to the aesthetic?
isolde and tristan: did they or did they not smash in that grotto like their lives depended on it? i rest my case.
merlin: have you read mary stewart's merlin trilogy? my guy wanted the quiet life so bad it made him look stupid. he died as he lived, in the middle of fucking nowhere. say what we will he committed to the bit to the very end.
tor: he is literally a cowboy farmer kid turned knight. actually forget the whole list he's the only one.
thanks for the ask!

Fated Rantings: Mordred pt2
Tumblr media
I have just finished the two Camelot films and my post about them but one part I found too big to leave within it was my thoughts on Mordred.
I made a post on her already way back when I started my Fate journey but I couldn't help but want to add more after seeing these movies and playing through FGO's Camelot Singularity.
That said, for this, you will need some context from the first post so I'll link my part one of Mordred here:
Mordred Part One
Tumblr media
Victim of Projection
To reiterate a portion of what I stated in Part One, I think Mordred is a highly complex individual. Her entire backstory is a tad convoluted as well.
I believe that some of this gets lost among fan discussion due to how people project onto her.
People see clips of her threatening to gut her master in Apocrypha because he called her a woman and jump on the trans wagon. And before you rage quit the post, I am not saying that there's no truth to that.
My issue is that her reasons are more complex than just her gender and that seems lost due to surface level understanding. She's also not that way due to surface level "daddy issues" either.
Her issues are far deeper due to her unnatural birth.
Tumblr media
By "unnatural" I refer to her magical origins.
At the time, Artoria needed an heir but as a woman couldn't make one with her wife. To fix that Merlin used magecraft to temporarily erm...."alter" Artoria's body.
Morgan learned of this and essentially used her magic to charm Artoria and conceive Mordred.
This was Fate's way of working around Mordreds origins in mythology since Mordred is often cited as Arthur's bastard born of Morgans deceit and incest with their sibling.
Thanks to the magic of both Merlin and Morgan and the sheer level of spite that was the motivation for their birth Mordred was born a humunculous.
Which also meant that they would not only grow far faster than a normal human but live a much shorter life. Even if Mordred wasn't fated/cursed to die on battlefield of Camlann they would've died early anyway.
Mordred was doomed from the start and they know this. They also have a clear dislike for Morgan in other Fate stories for their upbringing.
Then there was Artoria's rejection of Mordred. Mordred perceived it as due to hate for Morgan or due to their gender but Artoria just did not believe they could be king.
Artoria rejected Mordred entirely without even sparing their "petty" emotions like hatred.
Tumblr media
The damage on Mordred's spirit and beliefs is far more layered than just gender alone. That's what makes them endlessly appealing and tragic.
But I've already covered the deeper topic in the first post. What caught my eye about Mordred in the Camelot movies and FGO singularity was how Mordred rectified that as a knight of the Lion King.
The summoned knights have their full backstories in-tact. Mordred has all of that baggage seen in Apocrypha but is choosing to serve the king anyway.
And mind you, Mordred isn't treated well in the Camelot Singularity. The film didn't go over it as much as I'd have hoped but Mordred is choosing to be loyal to their father despite being banned from the city itself.
Despite Lancelot himself being there, Mordred is the one treated the worse of the knights present.
The more fucked up part of this info is that King Arthur is the one who decided that. The way she describes Mordred's treatment in the mobile game is cold, akin to the use and abandonment of a tool.
Tumblr media
Gift of Rampage
On top of banning Mordred from the city save for certain times or for meetings the Lion King also "gifted" Mordred with "rampage".
All of the knights were given a power or gift upon serving her but Mordred's in particular not only plays on Mordred's angry nature but harms them when used.
Artoria Lancer essentially cursed Mordred to harm themselves in servitude to the Holy City while banning them from it for most of the time.
It's particularly cold treatment from a divine spirit that's lost her humanity. If anything, Goddess Rhongomyniad, aka the Lion King, aka Artoria Lancer shows more hatred/emotion toward Mordred than the real King Arthur did.
Despite that Mordred serves to the point they throw their life away to battle Caster and stop Ozymandias' pyramid.
And I can't help but think about why.
Tumblr media
Guilt
And upon seeing her final scene with Caster I think I can understand why. There's a sense of guilt in Mordred. I wouldn't say Mordred wants to atone like the other knights but she does say that they will die "as a knight" as she "should have".
Which rolls back to Mordred's complex feelings for their father. Mordred truly idolized Arthur and Morgan grew frustrated by this and it was only then that she told Mordred of their parentage hoping to spark conflict.
Sadly that ploy ultimately worked but after all the hatred and love and despite Mordred's own unsorted feelings in other Fate works they idolize their father, the king Arthur.
It is almost ironic as well because Artoria Lancer treats Mordred no better than Morgan did in life but given this second chance Mordred would rather die her knight than betray them again.
On some level that love is there and Mordred chose to adhere to it in the Camelot Singularity and its tragic to see. Even for Caster who ultimately takes Mordred down.
Hell, even Agravain feels some sense of pity for Mordred when he questions the Lion King as to why Mordred is banished from the city. Granted, he was seeing it from a wasted soldier example but he still had s semblance of care/respect there.
Tumblr media
I think that love also bled into her harsh words toward Bedivere. Mordred makes it clear they were never fond of him and I can't help but wonder if jealous is at the core of it.
Bedivere was Arthurs most loyal knight, a knight the king kept near at most times, a spot Mordred never had. They were never given the consideration and care Bedivere was despite being fare more powerful than him.
On top of that Bedivere was there for Arthur in her final moments while Mordred couldn't even get an iota of emotion from Arthur on the fields of Camlann.
Even in the Camelot Singularity where their roles should be reversed (in theory) they aren't. Mordred is treated like something to be used and left broken while Bedivere is walking around going on about seeing Arthur and fixing a mistake.
He also never argues with Mordred. He accepts their criticisms much to their anger. Mordred can't even get a rise out of Bedivere.
This is conjecture on my part of course, I have no way to prove it but it was something I wondered while watching the movie.
"What about Bedivere pisses her off so much?"
Tumblr media
Ultimately Mordred continues to be interesting but tragic just like her father. It's hard to not talk about them or what's running through their mind.
I hope we get Mordred in another Fate story one day. Something to give them focus like Apocrypha or one that has more exploration into their relationship with Arthur.
It was only in bits in the FGO game and some scenes in the movies but it's fascinating to see the knight you'd expect to rebel instantly to die for the cause despite the treatment.
I know this seems to end a bit quick but there's not much else I can think of to say given the first post. I just found Mordred's situation in the movies interesting, I want to know what drives them.
One day maybe we'll get that Mordred route.

Uncle
@wolfstarmicrofic
"you are coming with me!" Sirius says, with conviction in his voice. Like it's decided already. He had shoved aside some VHSs to be able to look at Remus from his other aisle. At Remus' place of work.
"Sirius, my shift only just started. I really can't leave right now to do... Whatever you have planned," Remus fills the gap with some more VHSs, effectively hiding himself from Sirius. This could have been the end of it. If it was any other person.
"We are getting smoothies," Remus can hear the grin in his voice, and sighs. Making Sirius smile or laugh has been his own personal drug and challenge for the past four years now. His shame about that fact was only overridden by the pride he felt whenever he managed it. And a bit because James also went to great lengths for the same goal.
So, against his own goal of keeping a job, Remus follows Sirius to the front of the store. Where Sirius is now already flirting with Remus' manager. It fills Remus with satisfaction to note that Sirius Isn't smiling now.
"Lupin, you're taking the afternoon off. And don't worry about your salary - family comes first!" Remus' manager says, mostly to Sirius, as soon as she sees Remus.
"My deepest condolences," she then says, trying to get a hold of Sirius. Who has already stepped out of her reach, and instead pulls Remus on his hand outside.
"what the fuck did you tell her?"
"that my uncle died," Sirius says, a slightly manic tone to his voice. "Now come on, race me!"
Before Remus can question the ethics of lying about your uncles demise to get a friend out for smoothies, Sirius had already taken off, and Remus can't do anything but follow. He let's himself get lost in the way Sirius' body moves, with that easy grace Remus could never emulate, and not for the first time Remus wonders what it would be like to bite into Sirius' buttock.
Before he knows it, Sirius has rounded into a store, and is already back out by the time Remus has caught up with him.
They drink their smoothies while wandering down the street and into a park, talking about the movies Remus had been stocking earlier and what would come to the cinemas this year. Sirius and movies was a Lovestory like no other, and that alone had been half the reason Remus had taken this job.
"I think you'll like the shining. I'll get us tickets for it as soon as it comes out - what?"
A light rain starts when Sirius suddenly stops in his tracks and pulls out his wand. Remus is halfway caught between elation and confusion, as Sirius uses a spy-spell they had learnt from Moody. The dark procession of cloaked people is magnified on both their left eyes, and Remus can now hear what they're saying.
Cygnus Black is reading from Merlins grimoir, a Psalm about loss and grief, as three house elves create a hole in the ground.
"wait, Sirius, is this a funeral?"
"told you, my uncle died," Sirius says with a shrug. There are tears in his voice. Even if they won't show in his eyes.
"but..." Remus racks bis brain for more uncles of the Black family.
"Alphard. He came to the last game of the season in year four. Just to watch me play. You liked him. He isn't like the others."
"God, Sirius, I'm so -"
"Shut up, I like this part!"
So they listen to the psalms, and watch as the house elves lower the long form of Alphard Black into the ground. And in a moment of unparalleled bravery, Remus takes Sirius' hand. To hold him and console him. And Sirius let's him.
