LoTR Characters + Your Loyal Canine Companion

Aragorn

✧ As someone who bonds with animals, he understands immediately and feels a sort of trust toward you because you respect other living things.

✧ He approaches the beast with great caution, near-reverence, offering a tentative hand. It is your turn to smile as your companion warily accepts, butting its head into his palm as he whispers gentle encouragement in Elvish.

✧ With your permission, takes it out tracking, curious to compare skills and see how the beasts of the world are truly made for their roles in a way even the greatest ranger cannot be.

✧ He sees firsthand the way you trust each other, move in battle as if carefully choreographed, and remarks how truly lucky you are.

✧ It moves your heart to see Aragorn’s grin one night when your companion practically knocks him off his seat by the fire.

Legolas

✧ You can see the surprise coloring his eyes before he actually speaks, the way they trace your motions and the furrow of his brows.

✧ Fearing it is judgment, you cross your arms and bite out a “Don’t tell me- an elf who’s not one for beasts?” Calm as anything, he replies in a tone dripping with wonder that he has never seen one so in tune with the world of nature, and at that, in the face of his satisfied smile, your jaw and tone drop.

✧ Naturally, your guardian is completely calm in Legolas’s presence, regarding him with a politely cocked head and an inquiring gaze sated by the elf’s hand upon its head.

✧ Legolas sees the way it curls up in the dirt at your feet, shakes his head and takes one of his blankets, wrapping the fabric into a nest for it.

✧ You catch him having a race with it one day, claiming with great merriment that the dwarf bet him he was slower than the animal.

Boromir

✧ Chuckles deeply at the sight of who trails you, shaking his head in wonder. “Don’t you two make quite a pair?”

✧ Asks right away if he can take the beast hunting, saying he envies you such a great hound.

✧ This leads to Boromir sitting at your side and recounting grand tales of Gondor’s best hunts, idly stroking the beast at your feet as he reminisces.

✧ He loves tossing sticks for the dog/wolf, amusement and peace clear upon his face as he opens his arms to the returning canine. “I could get used to this.”

✧ Your companion serves as an avenue for him to admit his feelings, starting with telling you your home must truly be a happy place with such a beast in it.

Gimli

✧ You probably meet because your companion goes bounding up to the dwarf at once, all but knocking him over. “Control your dog or I shall have to!” We all know, of course, that he is all talk.

✧ It surprises you how friendly your guardian is with a stranger, but his merry chuckles are quite infectious, bringing a smile to your lips.

✧ When you begin your travels together Gimli builds up a teasing friendship with the canine, playfully arguing with it as it noses against him for the meat he is eating and he shoos it, only to sneak a bit down anyway.

✧ Can be a bit rough with play sometimes, but you know your beloved beast can handle it, especially if it’s quite large, then they are evenly matched! Sometimes they all but wrestle in the dirt, tug-of-war somehow having turned much more silly and personal.

✧ Knows your companion’s name, but still always calls it Laddie/Lassie.

Frodo

✧ “How did you come by this creature?” Frodo is the only fellowship member to ask questions rather than whisper to themselves, and you appreciate that, telling him the story one night.

✧ Since then, the young hobbit offers plenty of secret little smiles your way and you ask for stories of his people in return.

✧ When the weight of the ring gets heavier Frodo finds himself curling his fingers through the fur at the top of the beast’s head idly, bringing him that much closer to reality’s solid ground.

✧ He even finds a special form of companionship in the moments anxiety overtakes him, your canine friend sensing his unease and draping itself upon him like a warm, heavy blanket.

✧ Grateful is an understatement. Frodo tells you in a soft voice that he doesn’t know what he would do without you two by his side.

Sam

✧ Before he even has a chance to get defensive your companion melts for him, warming up to the hobbit like none you’ve ever seen.

✧ The way they take to each other surprises you, Sam keeping aside bones from the broth to give it and your guardian taking circling Sam just as seriously as with you.

✧ Maybe it has something to do with the way Sam looks at you, the awe glistening in his eyes and the way he says your name like he isn’t worthy of it, though of course he’s the most worthy of the whole lot.

✧ Uses your companion as a sort of proxy to say things to you he’s too shy to say to your face, telling it how amazing its owner is and the like.

✧ Refers to the wolf/dog as Miss or Mister partially because he thinks it’s funny and usually says it in a jolly voice but also so you know how much respect he has for it.

Merry

✧ “Well, I haven’t seen a dog this big since outside that bar in Bree! What’s his name?”

✧ Sees your companion as a pet, which though not entirely wrong creates a more playful dynamic between them once they both understand neither is a threat.

✧ Merry can’t help bursting into laughter the day he knocks you over in a sparring match, only to get peeled off you by a massive wall of canine. Keeps laughing once they both unfreeze and he gets licked, trying to roll back up and away from the new attack. “I was going to ask if he knew any tricks, but no need now it seems!”

✧ Retaliates by finding the ‘sweet spot’, scratching until your canine friend kicks his legs like they do!

✧ Opens up to you one day, remarking how he wishes to be half of such an in-tune duo in battles and in life. Not that he doesn’t love his cousin, but he craves a different kind of companionship, one you assure him he could have with a fond smile on your lips.

Pippin

✧ Peers at you with the round eyes of complete shock, having seen nothing like you in his Shire days.

✧ Keeps the beast plenty occupied letting it run after him, tearing giddily around the camp once he sees you keep friendly company.

✧ He makes the mistake one night of extending his spoon for your guardian to sniff, only for his morsel to be stolen. Pippin cannot help a laugh, though, and a glittering look your way. “He likes to eat as much as I do, I see!”

✧ You cannot help softening at the fire one night upon looking over and seeing that the hobbit has fallen asleep, his head resting gently against the soft side of your wolf/dog.

✧ Definitely sees your companion as a way to get to know you better, asking plenty of questions and getting close to the canine in hopes to earn a place by your side, too.

Faramir

✧ Lives by a sort of silent oath to question but accept. Thus he asks why you travel with a beast, but listens to your reasons with firm nods and the beginning flicker of an understanding smile.

✧ Offers his hand very tentatively, having had his touch rejected or struck against many a time, but when the dog/wolf nuzzles against him he looks at you with joyous pride that melts you.

✧ That little interaction has you wanting to bring the two of them together, some inexplicable invisible string tugging you closer to Faramir by the heart.

✧ You let him feed your companion, indulge in a game of fetch, and in between it all make some conversation yourself. Amazing, really, all the knowledge Faramir has and he is equally impressed with your prowess in nature.

✧ Faramir always tells you how you remind him of great heroes from the stories he grew up reading with his brother.

Eomer

✧ “Who is this,” he teases you with a smirk, “your mount?” “No,” you shoot back, “though he is sure leagues more loyal than yours.”

✧ Challenges you to a competition, a challenge of hunting between him and his horse and you and your beloved canine. You win, and he accepts, offering pats to its head.

✧ Ever the tease, Eomer dubs you the Lord/Lady of Dogs, but you know by his smile and the glint in his eyes that he means it with affection.

✧ Invites you on patrols of his land’s borders, saying he trusts you both to get the job done.

✧ Suddenly he keeps talking about taking in a dog of his own so yours has a sibling, more and more thoughts along that vein invading his mind…

Haldir

✧ Fears your companion will slow the party’s orc tracking down, especially as many members utilize the cover of the trees.

✧ Allows you to do as you please, though, his soft spot evident in the way he shuts down any and all whispers about the group’s most unique member.

✧ You can see it, too, hear it in the way they speak warily of your fellow hunter, but you will not be parted. Instead you prove them wrong as your fierce defender takes down several of your quarry on its own.

✧ Haldir himself commends you both, offering a tentative hand to your newly shared ally and smiling up at you as it is accepted. Something different flashes in his eyes alongside the almost shy look.

✧ “Truly, how much less exciting my life would be without you in it…”

Eowyn

✧ Astounded by the way you two communicate, it is as if you truly do understand each other. She questions it, asks how this can be.

✧ Takes you by the horses, curious if your harmony spreads. She smiles at the way you interact with them, but it is clear just from that that the bond with your companion has been forged over years.

✧ Absolutely ready to fight to get a suit of armor made for your canine friend complete with a helmet and all of Rohan’s motifs of course!

✧ “After all, we much protect such beauty, no?”

✧ Playfully dangles things in the air, giggling whenever your canine guardian leaps for them and smiling widely at you.

Arwen

✧ Kneels down and whispers something in Elvish to it the moment she sees trepidation in its eyes, calming your companion immediately.

✧ It fosters a sense of trust between you and the woman, whose side you kneel to, tangling a hand in your canine's fur next to her.

✧ She is reminded, of course, of Huan, Oromë’s most famous hound and wonders if your beast could even be his descendant.

✧ Fair and just, Arwen quickly falls into the circle of people your furry comrade protects, chuckling deeply when it growls at the next set of people joining you as visitors to Rivendell. She speaks gently to it, asking it with a teasing tone how it still feels such unease in such a place.

✧ She knows you feel like an outsider sometimes and works to correct that, constantly telling you you have such strength and a place in the world- even Rivendell with her if you so desire.

Elrond

✧ Looks taken aback by the large form that follows you, brows raising at the creature entering his home. He hesitates, makes to hold it back, but when you insist you both go or neither the elf somewhat grudgingly nods.

✧ Used to odd patrons as he is, Elrond reminds himself that he welcomes all and asks politely for the beast’s name.

✧ Studies up on its origin if he is not already aware, trying to determine if this is an ordinary wolf/dog or one with any ties to the land’s magic.

✧ He sees your companion charge into battle at your defense, risking its own life, and with a nod of pride rushes in to save it from its own sacrifice.

✧ From then on Elrond regards your guardian as an equal of sorts, stroking its head in passing and speaking to it as if it could understand him.

Lindir

✧ Goes to comical lengths to step away from and avoid the massive canine at your heels when first he meets it.

✧ Possibly even asks if it’s safe, has fleas, etc. but immediately retracts and offers pats when you glare at him for it. Finds himself smiling despite himself at the feeling of the soft fur beneath his hand.

✧ You’ve seen dogs that howl as their owners play instruments? Then you know exactly what it is I am saying. The kick Lindir gets out of this is astounding; he can’t even be annoyed.

✧ Jokes that you’re hiding a composer under the guise of a hunter.

✧ Takes to the idea of further training, seeing how such an intelligent creature could learn to open doors and fetch items, considering such a use for helping Rivendell’s infirmary patients and those struggling with loss of motion or senses.

But I think I get your meaning. I'm explaining in a way that makes subconscious processes sound more conscious than they are in the same way someone might describe natural selection as creatures "deciding" to grow wings or better brains or opposable thumbs. It's obviously a simplification.

I'm not a neurologist. And even if I was, I'm not sure how much insight could be drawn from our current understanding of the brain.

What we do know for certain is that plurality exists. And in these groups of plurals, there's an incredibly common phenomenon where when a headamate is fronting and starts acting for the non-fronting headmate, the fronter commonly sort of goes blank while the nonfronter gains more control, even if it feels like the fronter is still in front.

The existence of this phenomenon is without question.

So the question we're left with is why this happens?

I personally believe it has to do with keeping the organism running efficiently and cutting out the middleman, because typing would be much slower if everything you want to type has to be told to the fronter.

But actually, since you bring it up, there's another interesting thing about all of this that's been on my mind

Whatever mechanisms cause proxy bypassing... they didn't evolve for writing. Aside from proxying for headmates not really having much benefit at an evolutionary level, the oldest written language is only about 3000 years old.

So it's not like humans evolved specifically to let headmates write for themselves.

So the reasons we evolved in a way for proxy bypassing to work is a mystery.

If I were to speculate, I might suggest that proxy bypassing also could work for other automatic responses. Perhaps in the distant past, our ancestors relied on a sort of "combat bypassing" with more combat-oriented headmates being able to control the body during battle without actually taking front.

In that case, maybe a full switch would be too disorienting, but trying to tell the fronter what to do would cost too much reaction time in a life-or-death situation.

Allowing the combat-headmate to control their actions quicker than the fronter could react if simply relaying advice could be a survival trait.

But this is all just speculative.

We sadly don't have any way of knowing what plurality was like or how it may have manifested in hunter-gatherer cultures millennia before the first written language.

And another possibility is that this mechanism isn't even for headmates, and is more for other types of non-sentient "parts" influencing the body's actions; and we're just sort of piggy-backing off of those mechanisms.

What sort of things do you have planned out for flirting/romantic options? Where do you land on the spectrum from more classic RPG/Dragon Age style where there’s fairly linear romance dialogue for each character that gives characters more of a set dynamic and distinct feeling “route”, vs on the other end, multiple romantic dialogue options for each character like flirty vs coy, oblivious, tsundere, all things like that lol. Now that I type it out, it seems kinda like a breadth vs depth thing? 🤔

I suppose what I’m asking is, how big of a focus/priority is romance compared to other aspects of the game, how does it fit into your general design philosophy? (Hope this doesn’t come off as pushy, I just like hearing authors’ thought processes & knowing how to set my expectations going in 😊)

I say this always and it's never really popular but fundamentally I don't want For King and Country to be a romance game because that's not the intent in writing it, the intent is to write an interesting, challenging fantasy story following the life of a flawed and often underprepared protagonist (the MC) and part of life is romance and hence why I chose to write it with Romance Options, trysts, flirting etc.

Romances shouldn't be too linear because I'm hoping that the story itself isn't too linear and my fundamental design philosophy is that I want the romance to be a natural facet of the story as much as training and intrigue are rather than a completely separate thing, for as many possible routes of story there are I want to design opportunities to develop in the romance of a particular RO or ROs.

There will be multiple different romance options when it comes to each opportunity to flirt (and opportunities not to flirt at all) to go with the different possible types of MC and to that extent not all attempts at romance will work or result in increasing your romance status; being overly shy with an RO who dislikes people who aren't direct will be slower and different to a very direct MC.

So I'm not sure how that answered your question 😭 basically it's not like a giant deal but it gets the same amount of time and importance I dedicate to working on developing how I want to do fighting mechanics or lore.

Ah, the classic "drunk character" question. Sure, I will accept the challenge!

I think it's implied he kinda likes to drink. It's also pretty clear it's not that difficult to provoke him into reckless behaviour like a drinking competition and as a result of it he could get drunk. I think normally he wouldn't try to actually get drunk, he would stop drinking before that happens, because despite being reckless he's also rather responsible. But he's also stubborn and doesn't back out of the challenge, as long as someone drags him into it. Which means he would drink only with people who know him well enough to know how to provoke him. Which creates a very fun scenario, actually.

What type of a drunk would he be? Sad one? Oversharing one? Or him getting drunk means his brakes are off? Personally I would love the last option. Finally, after we get Law drunk, he's honest like a newborn baby, teasing people openly, even trolling around more than he normally does (and we do know he likes to troll). Let's say he's drinking with the Strawhats, some of them would have sooo much fun with his drunken state (for example, Franky cheering him on with "Tell us more bro!"), Zoro probably filling up his glass over and over again because he won't admit it but finds it as amusing. Usopp would have fun at first but the more Law's boundaries just dissolve he realizes he didn't want to know some stuff and now he can't unhear it anymore and it stops being so funny to him. Luffy probably is the first one to pass out tho lol. The last people standing would be Nami as we know her alcohol tolerance is unusually high and those that actually didn't drink that much.

I wonder if drunk Law would be more brave to initiate the touch by himself. Traumas usually are so annoying exactly because there's no easy fix to them, they will haunt us wherever we go and whatever we do, and alcohol can help "get your mind out of it" but it might as well just backfire. Alcohol still wouldn't change the reality: his fear responses will still work, but people around wouldn't understand why Law is shivering or having troubles breathing and would probably assume he's just too drunk. I doubt he would admit about this to anyone, in his mind that's his weakness, a vulnerability so easy to take advantage of, he doesn't want to tell anyone about it unless he has literally no choice (and even then I suspect he would try to avoid it).

If someone wraps an arm around him, like Zoro did in post-Dressrosa feast, I guess he would react very visibly annoyed or straightforwardly angry, but if the touch prolongs he might actually want it to happen again. He would perhaps show it with his lingering stares. Alcohol might also make his reactions slower and his trauma response to kick in with slower reflex too, I could imagine that being a very disorienting feeling. I also think he could have a stupid amount of silly thoughts about wanting to touch Luffy, more so than when he's not drunk, which means he would resent it in hindsight and avoid getting drunk again lol. It would be so embarassing for everyone to see Law reaching out to touch Luffy only to barely brush his skin and giving up quickly. And then a longer while after he slams his hand on Luffy's arm, just to prove to everyone he's not so pathetic, but then he can't calm down for an hour afterwards so he regrets it insanely fast. Oh boy, he would be so much fun, wouldn't he.

The next day he wouldn't admit he remembers all the embarrassing things from the night before, blaming it on the alcohol ofc. Why not take the easiest way out when it presents itself, after all. But he remembers everything or almost everything.

But the day he opens up and talks about his fears would be a big deal and personally I think it would be disappointing if it happened because Law just got himself drunk. He deserves full acceptance without the alcohol involved in the equation. Also I hope with enough trust and time he can actually at least get a bit better at touching people, but traumas that run so deep are probably not gonna ever leave completely. Even if at some point in the future he gets alright with some chosen few people touching him (if it's not too much or not on the head), he would still get triggered when strangers would try to touch him or in certain type of scenarios.

I guess life is hard and complicated for Law. I would love to see him get some progress on healing.

Depending on what type of top you are he'll have varying reactions.

If you're on the softer side his heart will warm at any compliments you give to him, to be praised by someone he loves so dearly makes him beyond happy. He also enjoys a slower pace, it gives him enough time to really commit this moment to memory.

If you're on the rougher side, he'll definitely be a bit surprised but he's a powerful fae. He doesn't really worry about you hurting him too much, mostly because you can't. Though, do keep in mind he's not the biggest fan of degrading.

Vil is pleasantly surprised when you try to bed him. He's glad that you've finally learned to accept him as your romantic partner. He's clearly the best match for you so it's nice that you have finally realized that.

Well, he certainly doesn't mind but first you'll have to catch him when he's in the mood for it. Vil is typically very busy so he doesn't usually have much time to indulge in more carnal desires. But at the end of the day, after he's finished everything, he might entertain your desires.

If you're a softer top, Vil enjoys the more relaxed pace. The slow pace really helps him wind down from a long day of work. He enjoys the sensual touching and your worship of his body as well as the praise, but the praise doesn't affect him that much. He gets told how attractive and amazing he is all the time, though hearing the words come from you does make it a bit more special.

If you're more on the rougher side he'll be a little surprised but nonetheless interested. However, if you're going to be so rough, you better make sure to put your all into it. He doesn't tolerate people who are lazy.

Talk Garden Vol.14‼️~Everyone's Health Regimens Are Amazing! I Can't Handle The Recent Temperature Changes~

The temperatures in Tokyo suddenly dropped below 20℃ so I thought it was finally going to get cooler…but it was only for a moment. It seems to be going back up to warm temperatures around 25℃ 😅A temperature difference of about 10℃ between different days is rough in many ways😵‍💫I'm not sure what to wear *laughs*🧥

How is autumn approaching where you live? I feel that the plants in my house are growing a little slower, maybe because they've been freed from the heat of just a few weeks ago. It's a little sad, but some of them seem to be preparing for hibernation so I need to be more careful when watching over them🤔Watering them will become quite tricky from now on 😇I'll do my best!

Well! Today, I Vol.14 of my podcast "Wakana's Talk Garden" has been uploaded! ＼＼\٩( 'ω' )و //／／ I received many submission about "Everyone's Rules of Healthy Living"! It made me realise how well you all take care of your health😳You didn't only talk about different diets, you also mentioned exercising, regular health checks, trying new things to deal with daily physical problems…I was really impressed by everyone's dedication to a healthy lifestyle!! 😭✨I got the impression that a lot of people ride bikes😊🚴In terms of food, many people try to prioritise vegetables🍅🍆🥒🥕🥦Basic health rules seem to be ingrained in all of you🤔That's amazing…✨

I'm trying my best too, but the fatigue of summer and the dryness of the sudden cold have made my voice a little nasal😓It may be hard to listen to but if you have some spare time, feel free to check out the latest episode. I forgot to mention it in the podcast but I wanted to introduce my recent favourite foam roller. I am using it every morning and evening for stretching 😉It's a small foam roller for myofascial release. Look at the cute colour and size. It's tiny compared to a regular-sized foam roller. It's light and easy to carry! It's small, but it can release myofascia just as well as a regular-sized one!

I've always loved this stretch ball, too. It's a great product that can be used on trigger points. (Trigger points are "hyperalgesic areas, which are where the pain-sensing sensors in the body have malfunctioned, causing constant pain.") Personally, I use it in areas that don't usually hurt but are prone to stiffness. The shoulder blades, collarbones, and especially glutes! My glutes are surprisingly stiff! (By the way, if you want to work on large muscles like your glutes or thighs, I recommend using a foam roller with a large surface area rather than a small ball 😊 The ball is best for small focus areas) I keep these items near my bed so I can use them before bedtime at night, I also keep them in my stretch corner or on the sofa *laughs* I use them whenever I notice stiffness. It's quite painful though… 😇

I talked a little bit about it in the episode but last month I went on a trip to Nikko with my mother 🧳I was very excited to be able to visit the nostalgic Nikko Toshogu Shrine 😍It was my first trip in a while and I felt very refreshed. That's why I picked this travel topic for the next episode ♪

Please tell me about the places you want to go or have been to, and the kind of trips you want to take! ! ＼(^o^)／I will of course share photos and a travel diary of my trip to Nikko on my blog soon✏️

And last but not least! I also wanted to talk about the happy news that were announced last week! Next year, on January 15, 2025, we will hold a Kalafina live concert. After seven years, we have decided to sing together again as a trio. 17 years after our debut! We have been encouraged by the feelings of everyone who has always supported us throughout the years. For this reason, we want to stand with gratitude and pride on stage to convey our feelings to you that day. The concert is titled "Kalafina Anniversary LIVE 2025".

We look forward to seeing you at Tokyo Garden Theater next year. it’s wildly apparent to me that they fully pivoted and went in a whole new direction from what they originally planned for a slower, more drawn out 6B and I’m not mad about it but I do think it’s hilarious. <- how so? I'm curious about the direction change and from what to what? 🤔

Sure! So, we all complained about the pacing of 6A, right? And how weird it felt to have such strong Vibes right out the gate in the premiere setting forth the couch metaphor and the theme of "missing what is right in front of you" only to then shift away from that completely to the sperm donor arc, which itself felt oddly paced? By the end of 6A, I was still fully on the train of "S6 is the season of some sort of Buddie canon, I'm just not 100% sure what that looks like," but couldn't tell if the pacing issues were a matter of working out the kinks with a new showrunner, or if there was something more at play behind the scenes that was leading to creative tension (and to be clear when I say that I mean something above Kristen's level because the haters don't give her enough credit for everything she's done for the development of this ship).

But regardless! We got 6A, it was what it was, including Tomorrow which was not only a gorgeous love story for Henren but was loud as HELL with Buddie parallels, and then what we saw on our screens with the sperm donor arc was that Buck 100% had not thought through the "donor-not-dad" situation, he literally announced he was going to be a father, we got to see Eddie react but not really respond at all...and after all that when they started teasing 6B is was all about how Eddie was suddenly going to start thinking about dating again (which was framed as much more thoughtful and a major 6B arc), and how Buck was going to be "struggling with boundaries" over the sperm donor situation right off the bat because he hadn't thought things through, etc etc (which FULLY tracked what we saw with the onesie etc at the end of 6x09). So I started thinking, okay, if that's the game, it seems like despite the heavy-handedness in the beginning, they're taking a much slower path to Buddie canon where the season ends with Buck using the sperm donor arc to accept what he is to Christopher/what he already has there but leaving the question of his love life couch unresolved, and if Eddie is dating then it's probably at least partly a reaction to the sperm donor situation and feeling like that flicker of hope about how maybe some of the things you think are only "fantasies" can actually come true was dashed.

Except...then 6x10 happened. And suddenly Buck had done a complete 180 and was totally fine with the fact that he was only a donor. There was no struggling with boundaries, there was no scene with Bobby unpacking that struggle (which iirc Oliver had specifically teased), and suddenly both Oliver and Kristen in interviews were basically like "if you ever heard us say Buck was going to have an issue with this or saw anything in canon to suggest that, no you didn't actually" which...okay? And Eddie fully lost it over Buck getting struck by lightning? And was then framed as a grieving spouse all through 6x11? And then 6x12 came out of nowhere with Buck on Eddie's damn COUCH (after Oliver confirmed that the couch metaphor is real and Buck absolutely equates couches with romantic relationships etc etc) and another kitchen scene + shooting conversation that I'm still in shock over? And then there were other, little things that I probably wouldn't have thought anything of under normal circumstances, but that felt relevant once 6B actually hit and everything seemed so different.

Like how they seemed to have done pretty extensive reshoots for 6x10. Like how the first mention we had that the Buckleys were coming back was in reference to 6x11 (which itself seemed to me at least to be framed as sort of comic?), but oh hey, actually they're in 6x10, sike. Like how it took ages to get episode titles and other 6B info (writers, etc). Like how 6x12 feels like it could have easily just been exclusively a Bobby episode (and frankly with the way they talked about it, I expected more flashbacks with Wendell and Bobby) and while the Buck (and Buddie) subplot works, it also feels like almost a totally separate episode. Like how Ryan is apparently in every episode of 6B despite traditionally being gone for two episodes per season. Like how there has been zero mention of Eddie's love life in canon yet despite the fact that Eddie dating was originally framed as if it was supposed to be a major part of 6B. Like how Marisol's actress posted about not knowing if whatever she filmed (I'm assuming related to Eddie) had aired yet despite the fact that this is a major network tv show (which at least to me reads as if things were moved around). Like how Eddie dating no longer appears to be the deep, thoughtful, potentially angsty arc about him choosing to explore himself that it was originally framed as, but looks like instead it's mostly comic and the result of his aunt?

Anyway, to me at least all of that is super sus and feels like whatever issue there was behind the scenes was resolved somewhere around the time of the midseason finale, they totally flipped directions on whatever slow, drawn out plan they had, and now they've slammed on the gas and are hightailing it towards full out Buddie canon in the finale. Idk if it's because they're worried about renewal or if they just don't want to fuck around anymore, but whatever the case, I am extremely curious about the next six episodes (and really really really want to know if I'm right about Buddie trapped dads in the finale).

With ☀️🌙✨ Sam like reader had to pass some tests to see if the baby had the super soldier genes and they end up knowing who the father is and Sam gets a little insecure🥰 or it really could work with either of the three alphas🤷‍♀️🤔

Yours, Mines and Ours

It had been welcomed news when you surprised your alphas with the news that you were pregnant. They were over joyed at the thought of a pup running around the apartment bringing joy to the pack. So imagine everyone’s reaction when you found out you were having not one but two pups.

If Sam, Steve and Bucky were protective of you once you mated that protectiveness quadrupled. They waited on you hand and foot and made you feel so loved.

At one point Bruce came to the four of you with a small possible concern. Would the pups be born with the serum? It scared you to think that they might and that someone might want to take them from you. The only way to find out for sure would be to run a DNA test.

The results were in. Both pups had the serum and more than that you’d accidentally found out who the father was. It turns out that Steve was the father and so was Bucky. They each had fathered a pup. You remember sitting with Bucky and calming him down as he cried. It was an overwhelming amount of emotions ranging from terrified to overjoyed. During all of the celebration by the alphas and the bond being filled with happiness there was a little blip of anxiousness and slight disappointment. You were never able to pin it down long enough to k ow who was feeling that way. It wasn’t until the baby shower that you’d realize who it was.

Jules and Wanda had prepared everything. When you walked, or rather waddled, into the decorated living room you and your alphas were pleasantly surprised. The girls had managed to combine the baby shower with a gender reveal party. The moment you walked in the party started. After a while of some games it was revealed that Steve fathered a boy and Bucky fathered a girl.

In that moment you felt that same blip of disappointment and you realized then that it was Sam. He was happy, sure, but you could just see it in his beautiful brown eyes. That twinge of sadness. You’d notice that he slipped out to the balcony. As sneakily as you could, you followed Sam out.

“Hey babe.” You called out as you approached him.

Sam turned around surprised to see you. He immediately meets you half way, placing a hand on your lower back and holding his free hand for you to take. Sam helps you sit on one of the lounge chairs and chuckles when you take a deep breath.

“I need to walk slower.”

“What are you doing out here sunshine?” He asked while running his hand up and down your back.

“I could ask you the same thing. Are you-are you overwhelmed my all of this?”

“The baby shower?”

You shake your head. “The pregnancy. Two babies. It’s just, everything’s about to change.”

“No. I’m ok I just needed some fresh air.”

You frown at his answer. It didn’t sit well with you that he was bottling up whatever it was he was feeling.

“Sam I felt it, during the gender reveal. You were sad or something. So please don’t lie to me. We’re mates and we’re supposed to be there for each other no matter what.”

The door opens and out pops Steve’s head before he disappears only to walk out with Bucky right behind him. Once they reach you and Sam they pull a lounge chair closer and ask what’s going on.

“It’s nothing.” Sam is quick to reply.

“It’s something. Please just tell us.”

Sam looks between the three of you and takes a deep breath. “I just don’t know where I’ll stand with the kids.” He says honestly and a bit ashamed that he’s feeling left out. “They’re your pups.”

“Hey, they are as much your children as they are ours and that will never change.”

“Definitely.” Steve is quick to agree with you.

“They’re going to need you just as much as they’ll need us. It’s why we’re a pack. You’re their dad too.” Bucky adds.

“We are meant to be together and be a family together that means you’ll be just as important to them as you are to us.”

Sam nods slowly beginning to accept that he won’t be pushed to the side.

“Besides I think you’re the only one out of the four of us that knows how to change diapers.” Bucky jokes to try and lighten the mood which works.

“Also you’ll be the most level headed, I’m only going to spoil them.”

Sam raises an eyebrow at you and smirks.

“Don’t look at me like that.”

“I don’t think I’ll be that much better.” Bucky admits.”

“So are Sam and I the only ones that will have to discipline them?”

“Please, as if you’ve ever followed rules ever in your life.” Bucky responds to Steve’s comment.

“Heaven help me, I’m out numbered.”

You lean into him and kiss his cheek. “You’re going to be a great father and I can’t wait to see it.”

My March Spring Prompts! I’m really enjoying doing them this month. I’ve been trying to include as many different Pedro and Oscar characters as possible with some connecting drabbles. 🥰

A sample of part two of "The Lake between Us" (Thank you all for enjoying part one, I didn't quite expect such a response for it. Should I make a tag list for it? 🤔) Ezra AU x plus size OFC - name in future parts:

Things were tenuous at first but they worked out she’s to call him ‘Uncle’ or Mr. Ezra. It worked better in social situations and she became his little ‘Birdie.’ Scaling down the jobs he took on to mitigate risk was a challenge and were worth less but he had to live not only for himself now. The pair moved around some before he enrolled her in school in Louisiana but ensured that he taught her when she came home in the evenings and on the weekends. The child hated the extra lesions, but it enabled her to be leagues ahead of her peers as far as studies went. Ezra was determined not to suffer another fool and would do what he could so that Cee wouldn’t follow in her father’s steps of idiocy. The results of his care, diligence and support was realized at both her high school graduation which he had never imagined attending anyone’s graduation except his own and to travel with his charge to see the college she’d chosen.

Nuestras canciones (Our Songs) Santiago Garcia x Amalia (plus size OFC) @reallyrallyauthor liked my Santiago spring prompt for today so I felt motivated to finally write another part to this mini-series:

Santiago saw a woman by herself lost in the music, the glow from her skin from perspiration. He didn’t see a reason why he shouldn’t make his way over to her so he did, but he waited until she opened her eyes again and was surprised by him. She laughed and apologized where he told her there was no reason to. Holding his hands out, she peered down and slid her fingers along his palms. The last song died down and the next started, it was slower, sensual, intimate. Garcia interlocked his fingers with hers as they moved back and forth, step by step. His eyes met hers, pulling one of her hands toward him and placing it on his shoulder. His palm found a place on her hip as his lips skimmed her forearm up to her shoulder, pulling her closer. They didn’t say anything as they moved in sync. Once the music ended this time, they stepped outside so they could hear each other speak. By the time they finally exchanged phone numbers, the club was emptying out and Amalia looked toward her friends as did Santiago. The pair had spoken about the dancing, club, food, drinks, if they were single, music and a few bad jokes. Well, between the both of them, quite a few bad jokes. 

My third WIP is one that I choose to blame @mysterious-moonstruck-musings since she fancies herself a sweet Dieter. So I gotta deliver because this is what she wants apparently. 🤭 I have vibes and two paragraphs at this point. Basically, you meet Dieter through one of his PA (because he's got 4 or 5 personal assistants who keeps track?) and he finds drawn to you? Was it crocs? Was it pizza? Was it a two am dance party to Paramore and Linkin Park? Maybe it was all of them or something else entirely? I'll work it out.

My last WIP is one I've been kicking around for a bit. It's a WIP I have with Marcus Pike. I've been dabbling him after a shooting or passing his firearm recertification exam and having PTSD (because I haven't tortured a Pedro character recently 👀) This one is also vibes, still working it out. I started mentioning therapy in my March prompts and it snowballed into this WIP.

This is what I have this week. Poor Javi G's outline still isn't vibing with me. I am going to figure it out though. 😭

since goe and lup have the ancestors they do i wonder how they would approach the prospect of having kids? Fuji doesnt seem like the kinda person whod want kids of her own but i wouldnt be surprised if lups been with other women. Goe doesn't seem interested in romance at all for the most part but maybe thatd change once hes a bit older. How would they manage kids while being thieves I wonder 🤔

I can’t see Lupin ever settling down for long enough to ever actively parent a kid. Of course, his legacy is important to him, as it has been to his father and grandfather, but he’s never been one to do things by-the-book.

Goemon, I thjnk, would be more inclined to live a slower, easier life. He knows he can’t pretend to be young forever, even if that doesn’t necessarily mean having kids.

Lupin is great with kids from a merely entertainment-centric standpoint. He’s animated and wacky and constantly in-motion; and most kids love that! His natural charm makes him a wonderful candidate for children’s birthday parties, but not so much for babysitting. He is, of course, level-headed enough to safeguard a child. He cannot, however, be trusted not to let them get away with murder.

In fact, he… actually actively encourages bad behaviour. In his experience, breaking rules is great, and it’s exactly what he did as a kid. And who wouldn’t want to turn out like him?

On second thought, maybe don’t leave your kids around him at all. Just to be safe.

When it comes to kids of his own, Lupin is pretty indifferent. He loves the idea of having someone to carry his family name into the future, but he knows he could never be a reliable father figure. He recognises first-hand how messed up it is when your dad is some daredevil big-name thief, and he knows that he couldn’t possibly give up his lifestyle for long enough to break that cycle.

Over time, maybe he starts to recognise that there’s potential for an adopted heir of some kind further down the line? I can see him taking an older kid under his wing and teaching them the tricks of the trade, and I think that would be a much better fit for him and his nature and the level of responsibility he can reliably be trusted with. We know that he’s more than comfortable sharing his life with his found family, and I think having an heir who isn’t necessarily a blood descendent wouldn’t be any kind of issue for him.

The Lupin name itself is important to him, however, and he’d make a huge deal of passing it down to someone else. You don’t get to wear the Lupin name and not live up to the legend. He’ll make it his mission to haunt you otherwise.

In short: they’ll have to be one badass kid.

Goemon isn’t planning on settling down any time soon, either. Though he toys with the idea, he knows that he isn’t satisfied with his own abilities yet. Training is rigorous and the hours he spends away are long. He can’t in good conscience have a child when he’s so busy bettering himself.

With that said, he is well aware of the slow passage of time. He recognises that they’re all going to get old one day, and when he can no longer work, he will need other things to keep him busy and fulfilled. While he has no active interest in children, he doesn’t totally write off the idea. It’s just… there, in the back of his mind. A situational ‘maybe’, if you will.

After all, Goemon… struggles, shall we say, with children. He finds it a little grating to constantly have to explain himself and the world around him, especially in simple terms. While he’s kind and generous in his own way, it’s clear that the distance he keeps socially might not always gel with raising a kid; especially when it comes to teaching societal norms and expectations.

To Goemon, in opposition to Lupin, his name is less about passing it on and much more about making sure that he himself does it justice. He is going to be the best he can be, because that’s what his name implies. The weight of his family’s history is on his shoulders: THAT is what’s important to him.

With that said, I think out of the two of them, Goemon is most likely to have children of his own. While Lupin may have a protégée, Goemon would likely take a much more active role in parenting a potential child. I think he’d secretly enjoy all of the baby babbles and firsts he’d get to experience. As long as he had a helping hand, so he could slip away for a break every now and then.

The secret third answer to this prompt is Zenigata, by the way. Again, not the most… devoted or present father, that’s for sure, but certainly the best father figure out of the whole gang. Probably the most likely to have children, too, considering he’s been there, done that, left to get the milk.

Also definitely the most intent on passing down his name. If he wasn’t insanely obsessed with Lupin, I reckon he’d be living a stereotypical nuclear family lifestyle. Definitely deep in the closet, but you know what? At least he’s great with kids.

quantum physics side of tumblr (or @hankgreen if he’s still out here on tumblr), how are we standardizing clocks and time when time literally goes faster and slower based on like proximity to the earths core 🤔 like who’s clock are all our devices tuned into? how and why does that work? won’t my kitchen stove be running slower than my cellphone if im at a lower altitude than the clock my cellphone is receiving data from?

Sorry for the rant following you gor my gears turning haha!

It's extremely interesting to me how different everyone's tells are when they sense a presence. My mom, my sister, and myself all have heightened senses for the paranormal but even we have different reactions. My mom only feels when something Extremely Wrong just happened, her and I both knew the moment My sister's car was T-boned downtown, but she can't pick up on spirits.

My sister can feel presences but it's with a touch of paranoia, they all feel some flavor of malicious or intrusive to her. I can 'see' the entities she feels and have to actively shut off that part of my senses (bc I work at a hospital and made the mistake ONCE of taking a look around and almost got followed home), but they're more like housemates or mischievous animals than malicious intruders. You answered a question about anxiety vs sensing and it made me realize my anxiety makes me hyperaware- like everything down to breathing Has to move slower and softer- but when I sense spirits it's just like looking around an antique store. No negative feelings just 'oh there you are, you're an interesting shape'.

Much to think about, might ask around what others experience 🤔

Sensitivity to spirits runs in my family, too. We all tend to get "vibes" in a general sense, usually described as chills, crawling on the skin, and other physical sensations. Sensing events before they happen runs in the family also -- usually as a vague notion for most of us, but my mom can predict events quite far in advance with an incredible accuracy. I'm the only one who's turned to divination to solidify the skill into something more useful, lmao. No two people experience any of this the same way, which is so so so cool to me. (:

I find that the less "normal" sensing spirits is, the scarier it feels. The more removed someone feels from "the other side" or however you define it, the more odd and unsettling it is. I used to scan all spirit activity as malicious for a long time thanks to a very negative experience when I was a kid (which was featured on the Hex Positive podcast's second edition of listener ghost stories -- it's the last one Bree reads!). As I got more used to it and started actually talking to the spirits I was running across, I realized that not everything was bad and evil. And really, I'd been talking to spirits all the while; the wind, the trees, and the garden all had spirits, and they were my friends.

I know I've rather inactive on the blog this past week aaa 😭😔, please excuse me!! I was busy attending to my IRL accords and to my wips, however I'm still around svshsgs 👉👈! As I always say please never worry about me going anywhere!! Even when I go quiet or inactive on the for a small while, I'm always here 💕~

As my commissions are mostly first priority for me as of current, my stuff for the blog has been progressing a little slower than usual, however I definitely still have things for everyone in the works 👉👈!!! So please dw!
