You and I are simpatico re: Gale and weed/psychedelics, so my question(s) on your recent post about cyberpunk/Cyberpunk dank ass weed dealer Gale is: does DAWD Gale grow his own? Does he develop his own strains with cool names and detailed descriptions of their effects? Does he branch out (HA) into mushrooms, poppies, and other fun plants on the side? Does everyone know he's a dank ass weed dealer or is it the source of his secret slush fund?
You are asking a fairly simple question about Gale Dekarios and marijuana (in the Cyberpunk AU I am having in my mind) but sadly you brought that simple question to ME, an insane person.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, most recreational drug use is either abuse of biological weapons or “combat drugs” which can do anything from numb your pain sensors to boost neural capacity (these drugs and sort of post combat versions of them often crop up around instances of cyberpsychosis). There is synthcoke and “Glitter” and other psychedelics. But there’s nothing mellow, grounding,  meditative, spiritual, etc. No good times, only fast times.
On a seemingly unrelated note, most food is somewhat synthetic, tied of course to the fact that farmers big and small were bought out, run out, killed, experimented on, etc by both government bodies and major corporations, for a variety of reasons. Largest of these agricultural dystopian threats is BioTechnica. BioTechnica owns seeds. They own wheat. They own the genetically modified versions of plants/crops that they have created to survive the worsening climate conditions of the dark future. The majority of this profit comes from CHOO2 and SovOil (gas/oil) so BioTechnica has very little motivation to use plants for anything other than fuel. AllFoods is BioTechnica’s brand. Functionally the only “groceries” in this world are synthetic byproducts with little regulation sold by BioTechnica.
All this to say that the lack of weed-like substances was a perhaps unintended byproduct of corporate wars and government greed but is now part of a constant effort to keep ANY level of agriculture out of the hands of anyone who isn’t BioTechnica by abusing both government regulation and copyright/patent law.
The antithesis of cyberpunk- and the only path to utopia or just basic optimism in its confines- is solarpunk. Here’s a video of a solarpunk agricultural based future (that was sadly only made as an ad campaign for Chobani, but this version has the ads removed) if you wish to gather the vibe without googling and finding yourself in weirdo subreddits tbqh.
I think Gale is ABSOLUTELY playing around with strains. I think Gale is at first a one man dispensary (perhaps to treat his orb pains initially if we transfer that to a cyberpunk AU) but that it does spread out into a bigger operation. What the Mox have meant to SWers, he and his crew could inhabit a sort of underground, reactionary fill-the-gap, protect-the-weak operation for those potentially facing cyberpsychosis, dealing with various pains from various disabilities, or simply desperate to treat the obvious mental health nightmare of this world without turning to the synthetic adrenaline rush until you die path.
I’m crawling towards solarpunk revolutionaries in my long form post Sun ending SilverV heavy fic and just having begun the work in THAT way, it’s hard to imagine moving into shrooms, poppies, etc without moving into full on war first. For me, Gale in any world where he keeps the narrative path of BG3 is a man who at his best wants to level the playing field and protect people, at his worst to ascend himself so that he might feel above who does the harm, however much that is an illusion or ultimately harmful. I can fully see Gale in a situation where he quietly aids a rebellion while maintaining his position in some important clergy-esque corporate position until he can’t anymore. I could even see him dying in the attempt. I don’t mean that it would be all good choices and glory. I once again must point to Gaius Baltar in Battlestar Galactica and say THIS IS THE SAME GUY IN DIFFERENT FONTS! All of this to say, there’s a world where Gale Dekarios aids in taking and/or keeping some of the BioTechnica greenhouses, perhaps with the aid of former military and Nomad clans he has assisted.
Which is like, um, a long way to say that… he would make shrooms in the right conditions. I am sorry and/or you are welcome that I am like this. :)

Hey!!! Since you said you have a lot figured out for your WIPs I'm interested in your answers!!
what natural resources does each nation have that the others don't? do they export/trade it at all? (For any WIP you wanna answer for!)
@bloodlessheirbyjacques 👀❤️‍🔥
JACQUES, I LOVE YOU!!!!!! I'll try to keep this at least somewhat brief, but be warned, you have NO idea what floodgates you have just opened. (I actually intended to make a post like this literally over a year ago, so thank you for helping me make it!!)
Get ready for:
Econ 101 - A Crash-Course in Continental Trade Policy
Before we get started, here's some things you might find helpful:
a map of the continent (see below)
an explanation of why Anvia and Oryn don't get along
Tumblr media
under the cut because hoo boy, this is a LOT.
Anvia, the kingdom where ATQH takes place (and which Fallon rules) is primarily an agricultural society. The country's position in the middle of the continent, plus the river running through the kingdom providing fertile land, gives makes it the best-suited area for agriculture on the continent. (Side Note: It gets colder as you got west-northwest on this continent. Oryn is cold, with long winters and short summers, while Oraine is extremely hot and the land dries up quickly.)
They grow crops and raise animals not only for their own survival, but for export to the neighboring nations. Anvia also has a decent number of craftspeople living in its larger cities, who use crop byproducts (or non-food crops) and animal products to make other products, such as textiles, leather products, etc.
Thus, Anvia's main products/exports are food crops (apples, wheat, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, lettuce, cabbages, carrots, peas, hops, among other things), created food products (wine, ale, baked goods, jams, jellies, preserves) as well as animal products (largely wool, but things like eggs, cheese, and milk may also be exported), and craftsproduts (textiles and leather products, for example).
Due to the fact that most of Anvia is farmland, be it crop fields or livestock pastures, there is very little opportunity for logging. Even the areas that haven't been developed for farming are largely prairie-like areas. Also, Anvia lacks substantial access to mountains or mineral deposits for mining. So they are lacking in construction materials such as timber, stone, and metals.
Oryn, on the other hand, is ripe with construction goods. They have massive mines scattered throughout the kingdom, especially along the mountain range that borders with Anvia. (Ironkeep, the fortress to the Northeast of Westcliff, is a major stronghold built to protect Oryn's most profitable mines.) Additionally, a massive portion of the kingdom is covered in forests, so logging is another major industry.
(Side Note: Kristopher's father and the current king of Oryn, Pierre, has increased both of these industries massively. The working conditions in both tend to be hazardous, with many people being injured or killed. (Fun Fact: If you want to know how Pierre runs his kingdom, listen to Eat Your Young by Hozier.) Kristopher believes that his father is ruining Oryn, not only by ruining much of its natural land, but also by working the people so hard.)
Notably, Oryn is also home to significant number of craftspeople, specializing in blacksmithing, metalworking, and jeweling. Orynian weapons and armor are said to be stronger and more durable than any others, and jewelry made by Orynian jewelers with Orynian stones is highly prized across the continent and beyond.
Oryn's main exports are lumber, stone, metal (raw, processed, and crafted into items), and jewels (raw, processed, and made into jewelry).
However, what Oryn severely lacks is fertile farmland. Not only is most of the land covered in trees, but the soil is quite rocky -- far from ideal for large-scale farming. (The hilly, mountainous terrain doesn't help.)
So, you can probably see why Oryn and Anvia need each other. They are forced to trade with one another to ensure the survival of both kingdoms. However, as I've explained in the past, the two kingdoms have a long history of tension between them -- which actually was the result of conflict over resources to begin with. However, despite this obvious codependency, neither one has been willing to suck up their pride and open direct negotiations between the two nations. (Fallon has tried several times during her rule, but has never once received a response from Pierre.)
So, this is where Oraine steps in. Oraine has a very hot environment, and aside from a few choice crops, not much of trade value grows there. (Their main exports, aside from a few "exotic delicacies", are fancy goods, such as fine clothes, art, and fancy furniture.) However, what Oraine does have is massive amounts of accessible coastline. Because of this, they have a long history of ship-building and maritime trade. Fortuitously for Oraine, Anvia and Oryn's border is mostly treacherous mountains, which makes overland travel difficult.
So, at some point in the past few centuries, some clever Orainian had an idea, and Orain graciously stepped in, offering to conduct trade between the two kingdoms -- for a fee, of course. Eager to continue their mutual cold-shoulder treatment, Anvia and Oryn were quick to accept the proposal. It was agreed upon that both Anvia and Oryn would be able to use Orainian ships to send their goods to each other, to Oraine, and beyond.
There are multiple companies (each owned by wealthy merchant families) that offer these services, both within the continent and beyond, and each is free to set their own price and negotiate their own service contracts with individuals, companies, or the nations themselves. However, they are charge a hefty tax that goes directly to the pockets of the ruler (currently Empress Adrienne) of Oraine.
Not only that, but Orainian merchants are well aware of how necessary their services are to both Anvia and Oryn. As such, their fees are often ridiculously overpriced. And Anvia and Oryn pay them, because they don't have any other choice. (Well, they could choose to talk to each other and begin their own trading initiatives instead of settling for Oraine's horrid prices, but why would they ever do that?)
To tie all this back to the messy international politics of the continent, the Empress of Oraine has her own fleet of trading ships that carry out trades on her behalf. It is these ships that the rulers of Anvia and Oryn are required to use when they wish to send something more between them for political purposes. Orainian leaders have long claimed this is to "supervise" and "prevent increased hostility", but in reality it's just another way to line the ruler's pockets.
The rulers of both kingdoms have signed contracts with the Empire, including a rate of charge for the service. The Empress continually pushes to raise said rate, with the monarchs attempt to negotiate a lower price -- or at least keep the same one they had before. But it's a precarious slope, because if they push too hard, the Empress could retract her offer altogether, which would be disastrous (at least in the short term) for the two kingdoms, until they were able to communicate in a civil manner and establish their own trade barriers. (Of course, the Empress has no intention of actually rescinding her offer -- it's far too profitable -- but the monarchs don't know that...)
And that's all, folks!! To anyone who read all 1,092 words of this, I am hugging you (if you accept), and buying you your favorite meal. Hopefully this isn't too boring of a read...

Consumer groups, GMOScience, Moms Across America, and supporters have commissioned the testing of Girl Scout cookies for toxic metals and glyphosate/AMPA (an herbicide and its byproduct), to promote awareness and positive change for health. The results were extremely concerning.
100% of the samples were positive for glyphosate
100% were positive for toxic metals
22 out of 25 (88%) of samples were positive for all 5 toxic metals
76% were positive for levels of cadmium that exceed EPA limits in water
24 out of 25 (96%) of samples were positive for lead
(The consumer groups involved reached out to the GSUSA for a meeting before releasing these results and did not receive a response.)
One hundred percent of the 13 types of 25 cookies tested from 3 states, California, Iowa, and Louisiana, were positive for very elevated levels of glyphosate/AMPA, responsible for multiple health issues including cancer, endocrine disruption, gut issues, miscarriages, sperm damage, autism, neurotoxicity, and reproductive damage.
Glyphosate is commonly used as a drying agent (also known as a desiccant) before harvesting on wheat, oats, barley, legumes, sugar cane, and other crops, and as a weed killer on GMO crops such as corn, soy, canola, and beet sugar, which are common ingredients in the cookies. From 13.57 ppb in Peanut Butter Patties® to 111.07 in Thin Mints®, the average amount is 33.43, 334 times higher than what Dr. Don Huber, Professor Emeritus of Purdue, states is harmful and must be avoided.

The ramen shop was inherently ridiculous.
The humans had never eaten ramen. There was no reason for them to have ever eaten ramen. Humanity was mostly descended from inhabitants of Central and South America, who had absorbed the survivors of the United States of America, and most didn’t have the inclination or supplies for a lot of East Asian foods. They reproduced semolina through domesticating a worm that produced a frothy byproduct chemically similar to durum wheat, and they utilized a certain breed of fungus to experience the rapturous joys of beer. Semolina made easy couscous and fancier noodles, but it didn’t make great ramen.
So it made no sense to build a popular ramen restaurant in the upper districts of July. It didn’t stop them. It didn’t stop July from bulging with restaurants hawking alien foods and stores selling the novel and the obscene. Was that a video game store ?
The sheer amount of electricity this place ate up was insane. The sheer amount of wealth that its commerce was built upon: the assumption that your house had electricity, that your kids didn’t have ranch work and chores to fill their days. The video game was a large box with a screen on one end and a series of buttons and joysticks built into the side, and judging from the sample screens the game wasn’t very interesting, but - video games! What’s next, television?
In which shit hits the fan.
Sorry for the tremendous lateness - shit has been VERY insane over here. This chapter's a whammy, and I'm very interested in people's reactions. Next chapter is the finale. This chapter was I think the hardest to write, and the most difficult chapter of anything I've written in a long time. Vash is a nut.

LoZ: New Ingredient Ideas - Flora & Fungi
I have a lot of ideas for ingredients for future games.
* Will be besides things that are, in some way, from the official Wild series. Or are at the very least are based on something that originated from it.
※ Will be beside things that were planned to be part of the official series at one point, but for whatever reason, were cut.
☆ Will be beside things that existed, are intended to be associated with, or were inspired by things in other Zelda games, but not the Wild Series.
★ Will be beside things that were in some way inspired by other games or shows.
⚙ Will be beside processed ingredients. A lot of such ingredients are the sort of thing that just needs more time, as such, to get it, you need to buy it from a shop that carries it. However, if you do the shopowners a favor, then they might give you a discount if you provide the ingredients, this way the Rupees will be made up for in the next batch.
Now, typically, you can just sort of throw wheat into a soup & just make crap. But, IRL this would be evidence of a crazy person, but Imma work with it & say that Link probably has a millstone mortar & pestle in his pack with him. Who knows, maybe Rhoam gave it to him when he taught Link to cook?
At the same time, I'm making it so that, yes, you can do it that way & good on Link for being self-reliant, but I also think that Mr. “What's the difference between bear meat & cow meat? It's all meat” wouldn't exactly… know how best to make flour either.
So, yes, it's something he can do, but… flour milled by someone who knows the sort of consistency to grind the flour into would likely be better than Link's. So, I see it giving more hearts when used to cook.
Maybe if Link gets a sidequest to help a Miller, where he makes food with Tabantha Wheat, then the man will be outraged & show him the best consistency to make flour.
If so, then he'll no longer need to get flour for that extra boost &, in fact, he'll start to auto-mill Tabantha Wheat again, but this time, it'll restore more health than store bought due to how freshly milled flour has more nutrients.
⬡ Will be beside ingredients that need to be purchased.
LoZ: New Ingredients - Fauna & Byproducts
LoZ: New Ingredients - 2nd Tier Ingredients
---
List of Effects:
☆Acro = Wall Climb Speed Up. - EoW: Climbing.
Aerodynamic = Skydive Control Up.
Amorous = Aphrodisiac. This is a secondary effect, allowing it to remain even after being cooked with something else. (This is mostly for flavor & wouldn't actually do anything in a game setting. Though, it specifically only activates when a sufficient level of dopamine & norepinephrine is found in the body, it can likewise be cured when a sufficient enough supply of oxytocin is introduced into the bloodstream. So, it only takes effect if in the presence of someone you legit are attracted to & are in love with, which is why Link wouldn't be affected. He's Zelda's & it'd only work on him in her presence. It also doesn't work on anyone who hasn't finished puberty. It's also known to increase the possibility of reproduction.)
Amoreternity = Amorous & Vitality. A long-lasting aphrodisiac. Like Amorous, its effects are dependent upon the imbiber's emotional connection to another. This is a Hidden Effect, meaning that it requires a degree of Magical Infusion to access.
Erogenous = Aphrodisiac. Unlike Amorous, Erogenous needs no emotional attraction for it to work. In this way, it's actually much more dangerous. (Would not appear in games beyond the story. Known to increase the possibility of reproduction.)
Eroperdurant = Erogenous & Vitality together. A long-lasting aphrodisiac. Unlike Amoreternity, Eroperdurant needs no emotional attraction for it to work. In this way, it's actually much more dangerous & prime for abuse. (Only existent in Sāqmàla Honey.)
*Biting = Cold Weather Attack.
☆Bubble = Hold Breath Underwater For Longer. Much more common than Gills.
Gills = Breathe Underwater. This is a Hidden Effect. You can’t normally access a Hidden Effect without certain Infusion techniques.
*Dark/Warding = Gloom Resistance.
Dawning/Dusky = Twilight Blade Attack Up. (Doubles the damage dealt by Sheikah/Yiga weaponry, Moonlight Scimitars, knives, sickles, & scythes by generating a crepuscular razor, thus dealing twilight damage. Mirror Sheilds are also more effective. Sheikah/Yiga weaponry fused with Silver/Twilight Lizalfos Horns or a Moonstone deal thrice as much damage as normal. And using them at night, under the moon, quadruples it. However, the higher the multiplier, the more quickly time to use it will run down, though using them under the full moon tends to stave this effect off just a bit. Keep that in mind! Twilight also deals extra damage to undead enemies & Poes, this sets the spirit trapped inside free & results in a Poe Soul. Twilight damage is also noted to be purifying, so defeating Wolfos, Furnix, Bullbos, & Iron Knuckle enemies with Twilight purifies them, thus returning them to their natural state.)
Dreamy = Sleep Induction. This is a secondary effect, allowing it to remain even after being cooked with something else. (More for story flavor as somnolents just make you sorta sleepy &, thus, won't just knock Link out cold. Actual gameplay uses would only be included when you use Fuse Weapon to attach the item to an arrow or other weapon, which I'm saying concentrates & amplifies the effects, which allows you to knock enemies out cold. Without the Fuse Weapon rune, you'd need to make a concentrated sleep extract to apply to the arrow/weapon tip by hand. By default, Dreamy items don't work against boss or mini-boss enemies. However, if you go to sleep in a bed within an hour of being affected by Dreamy, you'll get bonuses when you wake up.)
Potent Dreamy = Powerful Sleep Induction. This is a secondary effect, allowing it to remain even after being cooked with something else. (Unlike Dreamy, Potent Dreamy will absolutely knock Link the fuck out. It's basically a tranquilizer. Note that only the scent of a Mawkap will wake him up afterwards.)
Eclating/Glaring = Light Blade Attack Up. (Doubles the damage dealt by swords, knives, axes, sickles, & scythes by generating a cutting light thus dealing light damage. Light-based weapons such as the White Sword of the Sky, the Master Sword, the Sword of the Six Sages, the Bow of Light, & other such weapons deal triple damage. And, damage dealt from using a Light Weapon fused with a Light Dragon part is quadrupled. However, the higher the multiplier, the more quickly time to use it will run down. Keep that in mind! Light attacks also deal extra damage to dark enemies. Light damage is noted to be purifying, so defeating Wolfos, Furnix, Bullbos, & Iron Knuckle enemies with Light purifies them, thus returning them to their natural state.)
*Electro = Shock Resistance.
Fireproof = Fire Resistance.
Fortune = Great Deal. (Briefly increases the amount of rupees you get for selling things.)
Lava Guard = Fireproof, Chilly, & Rapid. Allows one to swim in lava. The only individual ingredients that can have this are those that can literally survive in lava. (This effect isn't normally natural to a single ingredient, but can also be achieved via special recipes, using special cooking techniques known only to the best chefs. Or via well-guarded cultural secret known only to the Gorons & Mogma of Gorondia.)
Freezeproof = Freeze Resistance.
☆Piping-Hot = Freezeproof & Spicy. A Hidden Effect. You can’t normally access a Hidden Effect without certain Infusion techniques.
Frost Guard = Spicy, Freezeproof, Biting, & Snowdrift at once. Or Piping-Hot, Biting, & Snowdrift. (This effect isn't natural to a single ingredient & can only be achieved via special recipes, using special cooking techniques known only to the best chefs. Or via well-guarded cultural secret known only to the residents of Hebra & Ealiyah Town.)
*Glow/Bright = Glow.
*Hasty = Speed Up. (Doesn't work on sand or snow.)
Sanddrift = Sand Mobility Up.
Snowdrift = Snow Mobility Up.
*Icy/Chilly = Heat Resistance.
Lightningproof = Lightning Resistance.
*Mighty = Attack Up.
Nocturnepid = Can see farther in darkness.
※Puissant = Allows one to jump twice. (Turns out that a Twice Jump cooking effect was cut from the final TotK game. So, you gotta know that I'll be effing with that!)
☆Leap = Allows one to jump higher. - (EoW)
*Rapid = Swim Speed Up.
Recovery = Allow someone to slowly recover hearts over time.
☆Revival = Revives after death with 8 hearts. (Only Fairies & recipes that require Fairies have this effect. Don't worry, no Fairies are harmed during this process. The only thing used is the Fairies' dust.)
Riptide = Water Spear/Blade/Whip Attack Up. (Doubles spear & blade damage by generating a pressurized stream of water, thus dealing water damage. Spears fused with Silver Lizalfos Horns or swords with Water Lizalfos Horns do triple damage. Also pairs swimmingly with Zora weaponry as they do triple. Weapons fused with Silver or Water Lizalfos Horns, Water Lizalfos Tails, Opals, or Pearls do triple as well. But Zora weaponry fused with Silver or Water Lizalfos Horns, Water Lizalfos Tails, Opals, or Pearls do quadruple. However, the higher the multiplier, the more quickly time to use it will run down. Keep that in mind! Though, being in the water or attacking in the rain will mitigate this to a degree.)
*Scorching = Heat Weather Attack.
*Sneaky = Stealth Up.
*Spicy/Warm = Cold Resistance.
*Sticky = Grip Up.
*Stormy/Charged = Stormy Weather Attack.
Tenebrating = Dark Blade Attack Up. (Doubles the damage dealt by Sheikah/Yiga weaponry, Gloom weaponry, sickles, & scythes by generating a vicious dark force, thus dealing dark or shadow damage. Sheikah/Yiga weaponry fused with dark monster parts triples the damage dealt. And using a dark-fused Sheikah-Yiga weapon at night or in the dark quadruples it. However, the higher the modifier, the more quickly time to use it will run down. Keep that in mind! Though, using them under the new moon or in complete darkness seems to mitigate this to an extent.)

For the sake of my own sanity, I'm gonna increase the ingredient limit to 7-10.
And, when you use different ingredients with the same effect, it provides some sort of bonus. Whether it be increasing the amount of time an effect lasts or the level of the effect itself depends on the effect as well as whether it is a dish or a potion & the sorts of ingredients that you use.
Also, 💧, 💦, & 🌧 indicates how Hydrating something is.
Hydrating = Keep Soaked Twice As Long. This is a secondary effect, allowing it to remain even after being cooked with something else. Also pairs swimmingly with Zora weaponry.
Likewise, ❤️, 💛, 💖, 🩵, 🔋, 🟡, ☠️, & 🍵 are similarly interesting as they also exist outside of the typical Effects.
❤️ Health = Just how many hearts you recover from eating it.
💛 Hearty = The amount of extra hearts something gives.
💖 Sunny = The amount of Gloom Damage that's healed.
🩵 Redintegrating = Restores magical energy.
🔋 or 🟢 Energizing = The amount of Stamina that is restored.
🟡 Enduring = The amount of extra stamina that something gives.
☠️ Toxic = Inflicts Poison. Slowly reduces health over time. (Note that certain Toxic ingredients can be prepared specially to be made edible or to make things like medicines.)
🍵 Detox = Helps one fight back against toxins by cutting down on the damage done by said toxins as well as the time until those toxins get out of their system. Can also be used in cooking with Toxic ingredients to negate the Toxic effect. However, it takes a degree of toxicological/botanical/medical knowledge to do so. Also, the higher the toxicity, the higher the Detox effect needs to be in order to counteract it.

★Windblade Leek (Windshear) = (Allium novacula ventuprason) Has a milder, sweeter flavor than onions. Can be used in place of green onions, shallots, ect. The Sheikah call them Kazaha Negi (風刃葱, Wind Blade Long Green Onion). - Can be seen as a reference to Farfetch'd & Sirfetch'd.

Fissure Tomatoes = (Solanum lycopersicum speleodyta) Bright orange, subterranean tomatoes on teal vines. Grows best in wet soil.
★Cancerian Apples = (Victoria cancrimalus) A green pondweed that lives exclusively in water & grows like an underwater 'tree' with a thick trunk that splits into vine-like limbs. At the end of each limb is a bunch of lilypad-like leaves, the topmost of which floating on the surface of the water. On these leaves grow apple-like fruits that are shaped vaguely like rounded, cartoonish crabs. Jokingly called Crapples. Kanikin or Kanigo (蟹檎: カニキン or カニゴ).
☆Refreshing Grapes ½❤️/💦 = (Vitis vinifera reficitum or Vitis vinivulpus reficitum) These pretty purple berries are remarkably juicy & delicious with a robust & rich, but wild foxy scent & a strong fruity flavor with some earthy undertones. Though its pulp has a tartness that bursts on the tongue in gushes of sweet-and-sour. Though not excessively sweet, either. They grow best in the wilds of Lanayru, but can be cultivated almost anywhere. Sometimes referred to as Keaton Grapes due to their aroma which brings to mind the den of a fox. When used as an ingredient, they boost the healing effect to the consumer. Wines made from these grapes are sweet, but not too sweet, with a nutty aftertaste & a lovely, wild bouquet. The grape of the wilds. The Zora call them *Raisin Potentio (Pron: Ree-zuhn Poh-tuhn-syoh, Force Grapes). However, due to seagrapes having been the first type of grape they discovered, they're more inclined to refer to them as raisins & those that grow ashore, Raisins de Terre, Terraisins for short. Refreshing grapes, they refer to as Terraisins Revigorant  (Pron: Ree-zuhn Reh-vee-goh-rahn, Invigorating Earth-Grapes) or Terraisins Rajeunissant (Pron: Ree-zuhn Ree-joo-nee-sah, Rejuvenating Earth-Grapes). The Sheikah call them *Pawafuru Budō (パワフルブドウ). In Deya, they're called *Uva Vitale (Vital Grapes) in Lanayru. But, in Mabe they're commonly called *Uvas Vitales (Vital Grapes) or *Uvas Revigorantes (Revitalizing Grapes). - EoW: 'Grapes with a rich fragrance & a strong flavor. When mixed into a drink, they boost the healing effect to the drinker.’ | Pairs well with Faron Pineapple, Loveberries, Nayru Pears, Wildberries, Melons, Hoala Tangerines, Stone Fruits, & other fruits.
Enervine Grapes or Sweetvine Grapes ½❤️/💦 | 🟢 (-) = (Vitis vinifera dulcactuosus or Vitis vinifera dulcimpetus) These bright green grapes are native to Deya Village, they are harvested to make Deya's famous Deya Moscato, & other dry, semi-sweet, sweet, & sparkling wines. Has a high alcohol content ideal for winemaking. They have an aroma & flavor similar to that of Deya Peaches, Hoala Tangerines (both the fruit & the blossom), Thundremon, & Nayru Pears. While sweet & bright, they are also slightly tart & acidic. Due to possessing an effect, these grapes won't boost the healing effect to the consumer when used as an ingredient. The Sheikah refer to them as Amadzuru Budō (甘蔓ブドウ, direct translation). On the other hand, Lurelinites call them Ono KumuHua Waina. - Pairs well with Faron Pineapple, Loveberries, Apples, Nayru Pears, Stamegranate, & other Berries. - Dulcactuosus is from dulce & actuosus while Dulcimpetus is from dulci & impetus.
★Cavernberries = (Clerodendrum fruticosus trogletaerios) A type of vibrant, dark blue, aggregate berry that grows from equally vibrant pink, star-shaped calyxes. Only found in very deep caves & the Depths. These berries are produced during the fall from a brambly shrub with greenish-black leaves that smell oddly like peanut butter when crushed. However, before that, the bush develops pink, jasmine-like flowers that will begin to bloom in the summer & are known for their strong, yet ambrosial fragrance. Yet, when stamens are removed, those flowers then smell of a sweet, yet earthy jasmine. The berries themselves are dark blue & aggregate like blackberries. Their texture is succulent & they have a robustly sweet & earthy flavor that can also range from tart to tangy depending on a combination of how long they've been on the vine & how long since they’ve been picked. They also tend to have darker, richer notes beneath the overall flavor, such as a slight hint of bitterness. It's also just juicy enough that it bursts into your mouth when you bite into them, but the drawback is the slight grittiness of the pulp. Interestingly, Gorons & Mogma actually quite like them for their blackberry-like grittiness. - Name from League of Legends, but mostly inspired by the Harlequin Glorybower (Clerodendrum trichotomum) but with aggregate berries instead. The pink parts are called “calyxes.” However, IRL Glorybower berries are toxic to humans & animals alike, so if you come across them in meatspace, DO NOT EAT!!
*Hylian Piñonnut = (Pinus hylis) These seeds of the Hylian Pinecone are known for their rich, buttery flavor with mild sweetness & a subtle hint of citrus. An important staple of Hebran Rito cuisine.
★Quarrynut (Acro) = (Carya cavernicola trifolia or Carya petrapraedacola) The nuts of the Quarry Bush are stone gray with the nuts being vaguely shaped like the club playing card suit. Leaves are great filler & easy on space while nuts are edible & can also make Quarry Oil. Which can be used in place of tallow to create soap. They only grow naturally in the Depths, but can be cultivated in surface caves. They tend to produce in spring, summer, & autumn. - Inspired by Dwarf Fortress.
Loveberry (Amorous) = (Fragaria karinassa) A type of dark, ruby-pink berry in the shape of a heart. Said to have burst forth from the earth at her feet when the Goddess Karina found her first love. Amorous Fig (Amorous) = (Ficus xerocola curaca) These richly-colored, dusty purple fruits grow best in the Gerudo Desert. The Gerudo heavily associated them with the Gerudo Goddess of Love, Passion, & Marriage, Vàh Kàvtrïna. They have a subtle sweetness & nuttiness to them with a honey-like richness, often described as having a jam-like texture. Not to mention being pleasantly nutritious. Their insides are known to be tender & syrupy with a strawberry & peaches taste & mild hints of berry-like undertones. In the desert, they are known as MàtuvàqLōrē. - Somewhat based on the Desert King Fig & the Dwarf Fig or 'Little Ruby.' They’re also good for naturally boosting testosterone levels in men. It's been used often to treat erectile dysfunction.
*Hydromelon ½❤️/🌧 (Chilly) = (Citrullus aquarius) While the original origin of these hydrating gourds is forgotten, they grow throughout the scorching hot Gerudo Desert, but are also known to grow in a lot of places. They are especially popular in Kakariko & Faron. They're typically called Wahē'dalla by the Gerudo, meaning Oasis Melon. However, Lurelinites have coined them Waimeloni. Humorously enough, a pair are lightheartedly referred to as Kalina Nāumauma, meaning “Kalina's Breasts.” - Aquarius actually means 'water-carrier.' TotK: 'This resilient fruit can flourish even in the heat of the desert. The hydrating liquid inside provides a cooling effect that, when cooked, increases your heat resistance.' Some Side Lore: It's very possible that they were originally a Moonmelon that had been brought to the desert by a Gerudo after the conclusion of her journey. She'd taken a liking to the melons & so, after she had her vehvï, she brought a few with her for the return & upon arriving back home, her daughter nearly suffered from a heatstroke. In order to cool her off, her mother was forced to cut into one of the melons &, after removing the seeds, crushed the flesh so that her baby could swallow it without trouble. This went on until they arrived back at Gerudo Town. Unknown to the mother, the seeds that she'd thrown out would sprout & become a new variant of the Moonmelon that would lose its moonlit qualities.
☆Zapple ¼❤️ (Electro) = (Malus domestica M. stabilistris) Native to eastern Hyrule, these green apples are delicious & well-known for the slight tingle of its juice, as well as their shocking sweetness when made into a juice. Combining it with something bitter seems to bring out an interestingly zesty sour tartness with a refreshing zing. They are famously farmed by Mabe citizens in the Applean Orchard northeast of Mabe Village, making them a local export. Though, the Sheikah know them as *Birbiringo (ビリビリンゴ). In Lanayru, they're called *Pomme Volt (Pron: ), in Deya they're *Mela Isolante (Pron: ), & in Mabe they are referred to as *Manzana Electro (Pron: ). - EoW Electro Apple: 'A juicy apple with a slight electric tingle. When used in a drink, it grants the drinker resistance to electricity.’
*Golden Apple ❤️+1½ = (Malus domestica auredelectamentum or Malus domestica matianum) The gleaming skin of these apples is crunchy & its flesh juicy. Add to that their sweet, tangy flavor & subtle aroma, & they’re very sought after. They are often called Aureinettes among the uppercrust, meaning “little golden queens.” They symbolize immortality, prosperity, beauty, & discord. Though, that first one is due to them being thought to grant immortality. However, if so, then not from eating them raw. The Sheikah call them *_ Ringo (_リンゴ), Kin no Ringo (金のリンゴ; きんのリンゴ, ), or Ōgon no Ringo (黄金の林檎; おうごんのリンゴ). *_ (Pron: ), Pomme Dorée (Pron: Pum Dɑ-ʁee), Doreinettes (Pron: Dɒ-ʁè-nèt, little gold queen), or Aureinettes (Pron: Ɑɑ-ʁè-nèt). - TotK: ‘A rare, very sweet fruit that seems to have an extra sparkle. Sometimes found near normal apples.' | Based on Shinano Golden Apples, Tsugaru Gold.
★Prickly Peach 💦 (Erogenous) = (Opuntia basilaris prunus) A pink, round, spike-covered fruit with peach-like flesh inside that grows on a cactus plant. They tend to taste not unlike slightly underripe Loveberries with a sharp, bright tartness & floral undertones. Not a true peach. Native to the Gerudo Desert, where they are called Sobbawkh. - Inspired by Prickly Peaches from Dragon Quest: Builders 2.
Moonmelon ½❤️/🌧 (Dusky) = (Cuculunaris lunemelo) Some say that these melons have evolved from the Hydromelons that were brought over to Kakariko from the Gerudo Desert, while others believe that it's the reverse. Regardless of their true origins, their outside is gray with a very slight light-green tint & cratered like the face of the moon, but its flesh is wonderfully tender & refreshingly juicy. If you can cut it open at the right ripeness (believed to be on the night of the harvest moon), the flesh becomes a somewhat golden orange color much like the harvest moon with a natural sweetness that when coupled with the newly enhanced, now truly exquisite tenderness, is almost guaranteed to absolutely take your breath away. Any other time, there will be some who don’t really care for the taste, but when eaten at its peak flavor, even those who normally don’t enjoy Moonmelons will fall in love. The Sheikah call them Shei'chōryūka (精潮流瓜; シーちょうりゅうか, Moon Gift Melon or Essence Flow Melon) or simply Tsukika (月瓜; つきか, literally ‘moon melon’). Also called Moonblessed Melon.
Charmberry 🍵+3 (Amorous) = (Callicarpa venustus var lactea) These bright amethyst berries grow in the Lanayru & Faron Regions. Has a lot of antioxidants, which makes them that bright, vivid color. They grow on bushes & the small, pink flowers grow in clusters. Most often made into wine or jelly, but are also often combined with sugar, which results in a nice, floral flavor often compared to Sunrise Hibiscus. So, like tart, dark berries. Though, those flavors mellow when cooked or boiled. Great in sorbet or gelatin, & makes for a tangy tisane with notes of citrus. The berries, when made into an infusion, can be used topically in glamor, beauty, & luring spells. However, it's also good for stopping bleeding in the lungs & the leaves make for a fantastic insect repellant. (Also good for clear skin.) They’re quite well-liked by the Zora women for their vibrant color, so they’re often called La Beautéboises Améthyste (Pron: lah bootee-bwahs Ah-mee-teest) or Charmeboises (Pron: Shãm-bwahs). - In French, the term for beautyberries would be callicarpe.
Dreamdrop 🍵/💧 (Dreamy) = (Eriobotrya somnica) A small, orange ovoid fruit that grows from large evergreen bushes. They're sweet & moist inside (though, not as moist as peaches) with flesh like a peach, having a pleasant flavor like a blend of cherries, peaches, & melons with floral overtones & a mild tang like citrus. Can be found growing wild in the hillsides around Kakariko. When picking the fruit, you also get Dreamdrop Leaves which the Sheikah use to make tea. Not to mention, you have a chance to get Everlost Silkworms, who tend to nest in them. If you attach it to an arrow, can put most enemies to sleep. (Does not work on boss or mini-boss monsters.) The Sheikah call them Yumeshizuku (夢雫, direct translation) or Yumeosotu (夢落とす, direct translation). - Just a loquat. Name Inspired by Pikmin.
Hoala Tangerine or Hoala Kaneline 💦 | 🟡 (-) = (Citrus melinsula) A very juicy, sweet, & very tart yellow-orange citrus that fills you with energy. They don't have much albedo, so they are ridiculously easy to peel & the segments have a very thin skin that bursts with tart juice, not unlike a grape when you bite into them. Increases max stamina temporarily when cooked. The Sheikah refer to them as Satsuma Mikan (薩摩蜜柑; さつまみかん, Counselor Mandarin). The Gerudo call them Ashànāida'tuqàlï meaning "assistant orange." - Based upon the Satsuma Mandarin or Unshū Mikan (温州蜜柑), but as big as a typical orange. Satsuma Mandarins are sweeter & less sour than ordinary oranges. The name Hoala means “a fellow counselor” or “an adviser,” which is because Mandarin means “counselor.” - Pairs well with Apples, Aguacaté, Mighty Banana, Cavernberries, Satori Cherry, Palm Fruit, Amorous Figs, any Grapes, Gleaming Guava, Thundremon, Windfall Lime, any Mango, any Melon, Deya Peach, Nayru Pear, Faron Pineapple, Kakariko Plum, Fertagranate, Kakariko Prunes, any Pumpkin, Rainbow Quince, any Raisins, Wildberry, Static Rhubarb, Loveberry, any Tomato. Is sweeter than most peaches, which are typically more on the tangy & acidic side. Pairs well with honey. They are farmed to make Deya Village's famous Deya Moscato. The favored fruit of Karina, Goddess of Love & Passion. The Sheikah call them Adeya Momo (アデヤ桃, Beautiful, Pleasant, or Delightful Peach). Though, Lurelin natives call them Keia Piki.
Din Juniperberries or Firetrail Eldinberries 💧 (Fireproof & Amorous) = (Schinus terebinthifolia flammeldina) Otherwise known as Eldinberries, Red Cinderberries, or Fiddleberries. An aromatic Eldin native berry bush that is flameproof, though it also grows in abundance on the Koholina Archipelago, specifically on the island of Dragonrise, & even sparsely in the Faron Jungle. The bright rose red berries themselves seem to be juicy & sweet, having a hint of fresh citrus-like fruitiness & slightly peppery pineyness (meaning sweet, nutty, & extremely floral with a slight bitterness; often described as woodsy) with a syrupy depth that some call sultry. However, when dried & ground into a pepper referred to as Firetrail Pepper, it loses that piney flavor, tasting somewhat like Charred Pepper, but milder with a much brighter, fruitier (specifically citrusy), & slightly sweet, mildly spicy taste. Unfortunately, in the process of being dried & ground, the spice loses some of the sultry depth that the berries are known for. Fortunately, skilled or innovative chefs are known to be able to draw that depth back out through cooking. The tree’s fibers & wood can be used to make fireproof furniture, including a fishing rod that can be used to catch magmahaline fish. The leaves can also be made into an infusion or decoction to help mothers to relax their muscles during childbirth or stop the flow of blood afterwards. The Sheikah call them Din Junipā Kinomi (ディンジュニパー木ノ実, direct translation). However, it's also called Tūkaha Lokema ‘Ai (passionate rose-like berry) in Faron. - The berries pair well with other strong flavors such as caraway, Stambulb, Starlight Rosemary, & Charred Pepper. But the ground pepper is known to be a lovely addition to butter-based sauces, salads, seafood, dressings, poultry, & certain desserts such as sweetbarks for the holidays. Best for dairy or cream-style dishes. - Inspired by a combination of red berry juniper & pink peppercorn. Lokema means roselike & is the Hawaiian word for a Juniper while ‘ai is used in a number of fruit names, including the names of a few berries. Also, another name for Pink Peppercorns is Rose Pepper. And Cinder to take the place of Cedar.
Nayru Pear (Freezeproof) = (Pyrus gelufugo) A western Hyrule native fruit that flourishes in cold climates. Resistant to freezing. It is light green & crisp with buttery flesh. The Highland Gerudo call them Niwarù'shui.
Mountain Furberry (Freezeproof) = (Actinidia deliciosa gelucola) Only grows on Mount Lanayru. These fruits have velvety flesh & are slightly acidic with undertones of melon & sometimes even banana. - A kiwi.
Shining Starfruit (Glow) = (_ _) A sour, glowing fruit shaped like a star when cut. Referred to as Kagayaite Seika (輝いて星果, Sparkling Starfruit) by the Sheikah, while the Gerudo call them Letraqéda Estàha. Referred to as Hulali Hua Hōkū in Lurelin.
Lantern Fruit (Glow) = (_ _) A type of fruit that only grows in the Depths. A glowing yellow or green, pear-shaped fruit, always with dark green stripes & delicious with a firm, crisp, & buttery texture inside. They taste like a mix of a Concorde pear & kiwi. So, their flavor is slightly acidic, filled with sweetness with a hint of tanginess & spice. A bit like a mix of apples, honey, pineapples, & strawberries with a hint of cinnamon. Grows from a cyan, bioluminescent, subterranean "tree" that grows large, upside-down, flame pink or pink-orange, gloriosa lily-like flowers before they eventually turn into Lanternfruit. When the leaves do glow, it's so light that it's barely noticeable except in the dark. The leaves only glow before the lantern flowers bloom & fruit grow; afterwards, only the flowers & fruit glow. Due to there being less surface area & thus more energy for fewer things, the fruit & flowers glow much brighter than the leaves.
★Shineapples 💦 (Glow) = (Vitis vinifera trogloflora lucidum) A variety of Mineapple that shines blue in the dark due to growing in complete darkness. Even better for brewing than Mineapples. More difficult to cultivate than regular Mineapples & takes more finesse to work with. Thrives in the dark, but can also grow just fine in shade. - Inspired by Dragon Quest Builders 2.

The Sheikah refer to them as Satoranbo (悟ラ桃; サトラんぼ), while the Gerudo call them Satrï'satúwt. The residents of Lurelin call them Mālamalama Keli. - A portmanteau of Satori (悟り; サトリ) & sakuranbo (桜桃; さくらんぼ). Somewhat inspired by Raisen Cherries. - Pairs well with almonds, apricots, Charred Pepper, caramel, Zonai Chocolate, Akkala Cinnamon, citrus, Deya Peaches, Kakariko Plums, Vital Sage, & Sundelion.
Malanya Cinnaberries or Malanyaberries (Hasty) = (Cinnamomum equuverum) These woody, brown berries grow from the same trees that the bark used to make Akkala Cinnamon does & become ripe at the end of summer. The perfect time to prepare for fall. Though, it's best to wait for the berries to fall from the tree themselves so as to ensure full flavor is reached. Has a uniquely sweet, cinnamony flavor with slight spiciness & caramel notes. Cooking with them gives a sort of cinnamon & honey scent. When dried & ground, then blended with cinnamon & even Goldenmerry, it makes Malanya Spice. Was originally named for their association with the horse deity, Malanya. - When for want of a Cinnaberry, the best substitute is pairing Akkala Cinnamon with Goldenmerry to create something similar enough.
Lovely Rosehip ❤️ | 💛 (-) = (Rosa eroginosa) Has a floral, slightly sweet flavor with a touch of tartness. Is sometimes gathered when harvesting Lovely Roses. Found mostly around the East Faron Coast. The Sheikah refer to them as Utsukushī Barahippu (美しい薔薇ヒップ, Beautiful or Lovely Rosehip). The residents of Lurelin call them Ipo Hua Ka'loke.
★Brushberry 💧 (Chilly & Sanddrift) = (Rubus hippophae xeronoides) This remarkably hardy sand dune shrub grows a type of orange-yellow variety of Wildberry that has adapted to the desert climate & now grows wild across the Gerudo Desert. This aggregate berry has a more conical shape than the spherical Wildberry. Has a complex flavor that many describe as being very fruity, as well as tart & tangy, sour, slightly sweet, & succulent with hints of citrus. Came to be when a young Gerudo Vai began to grow them in her garden. Is much less rare than the Desert Queen & is thus more accessible, but also provides less of a cooling effect. The Gerudo call them Ajma'twút. - Inspired by Sandberries from My Time At Sandrock. May possibly be a Sea Buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides), which are referred to by a variety of names such as sandthorn, sallowthorn, seaberry, as well as miracle berry or holy berry. Described as compact grapes. But I’m also taking cues from boysenberries.
Bloodberry Grapes ½❤️/💦 (Icy/Chilly) = (Vitis vinifera valtiva or Vitis vinifera sanguina) Dark burgundy grapes native to the Gerudo Desert. They have a sweeter flavor profile than Sweetvine Grapes, tasting more like a mix of Sundelions & sweetened Shock Fruit, being mostly sweet, as well as bright & refreshing like citruses, with a bit of tartness to them. They have a much closer relationship to Refreshing Grapes, having evolved from them. The Gerudo refer to them as Mu'túwt Grun. - Pairs well with Faron Pineapple, Berries (especially Loveberries & Wildberries), Shock Fruit, Gleam Ginger, Farore Hazelnut, Frostbite Mint, Nayru Pear, Mango, Starlight Rosemary, & other fruits.
Desert Queen 💧 (Icy/Chilly 2) = (Garcinia mangostana xerocolem) A delicious & immensely sweet desert fruit with a hard, deep purple hull & white flesh inside. The Sheikah call them Furoru Hashibamikara (フロルハシバミ堅果, direct translation). Though, Lurelin residents call them Fa'ola Haikelakukui. - Inspired by the IRL hazel tree, which in Norse mythology, hazel is a plant that belonged to Thor the Thunderer & were thought to protect people from his thunderbolts.
Aguacaté 💧 (Rapid) = (Persea hyliana) A dark green, pear-shaped fruit with tender, creamy flesh & a large pit in the center. Its skin is uneven, yet smooth, almost seeming scaled, which earned it the nickname Gator Pear. Is thought to have been brought to Hyrule by the Zonai & only grows in Faron due to how water intensive they are. Good thing Faron is known for its storms. The Sheikah call them Waninashi (鰐梨, Alligator Pear), while the Gerudo refer to them as Sōbehxàdu. The residents of Lurelin refer to them as Mo'o Nui Pea. - Just an avocado.
Sàbaar Fruit (Recovery) = (Agave hyliana) This fruit comes from a type of cactus that grows best in the Gerudo region & specifically on the Koholina Archipelago (which Eventide is the smallest island of & the closest to Hyrule's shores). Is similar in taste to honey & a good deal sweeter than sugar. However, darker varieties can taste more like maple syrup, while lighter Sàbaar Nectars are more subtle. The nectar is made from Sàbaar plant juice, which is also where tequila comes from. Its juice can be used as a replacement for honey if need be. The Gerudo refer to it as Sàbaar Dàkha, while the residents of Koholina call it Meli Hua. - An agave fruit.
Rainbow Quince (Revitalizing) = (Cydonia irisata) A mythical, extremely rare & hard to find fruit. Absolutely delicious. Has a crispness & crunch similar to apples, but sweeter & nicely acidic, so they don't need Shock Juice in order to preserve them (but do so anyway because it brings out their flavor), with a bit of a tang to them. Tastes like sweet pears scented with rose water & when cooked, they become a rosey shade. Due to their high pectin content, they don't really require gelatin to solidify. Cooking with one causes an autocrit.
Undertow Mango 💧 (Riptide) = (Mangifera lanyria) These oddly plump mangoes grow in Faron & Lanayru, mostly around the Zora's Domain. Unlike what you might expect, they are blue to deep grey-ish purplish with orange flesh beneath their thin skin. Though their flavor is much like that of a Tough Mango, an Undertow Mango is far juicier. And, though it might seem odd, the best way to explain their differences in flavor & aroma is by stating that Tough Mangoes are happy in a lively way & Undertow Mangoes are happy in a cheery, but laidback way. There's just a very distinct difference between them that is a bit hard to describe otherwise. Dried, unripe specimens are used to make Undertow Amchur. The Zora know them as Mangue de Contre-Courant (Pron: Mahn-geh dü Kon-treh-Koo-rahn), but Faronites call them Au'kō'malalo Manako, while the Sheikah refer to them as _ (). - Inspired by Kastoree Mangoes.
Tidal Grapes (Riptide) = (Caulerpa oceanifera) A type of fruit that grows in the ocean. Technically a member of the buckwheat family. Tastes slightly like seaweed while having the consistency of caviar but is both salty & sweet with a crisp freshness to them. Goes well with Shōyu & Vinegar or most seafood. The Zora of the Koholint Domain of the Koholina Archipelago are known to farm them along with other seaweeds. Also called Tidal Lato. The Zora call them Raisins de Marée (Pron: Ree-zuhn dü Mah-ree), though, on a colloquial level they're more casually referred to as Raizins-de-Marée (Pron: Ree-zuhn-dü-Mah-ree), Merraisins (Pron: Mehr-ree-zuhn), or, when grown in Seesyde, Baieraisins de Marée (Pron: Bey-ree-zuhn dü Mah-ree). Meanwhile the Sheikah refer to them as Chōseki Umibudō (潮汐海ブドウ, direct translation), & Faronites call them Kai'a'pele Hulu Manu. - Based on IRL Seagrapes (Caulerpa racemosa), but not Seagrapes (Coccoloba uvifera). Caulerpa translates to “crawling stem.” Meanwhile, Racemosa means having racemes, which refers to a cluster of flowers arranged along a stem; "clustered" or "full of clusters.” Or more accurately, it means “grape-like.” Raizins-de-Marée is supposed to be a bit of a pun on the French word for seagrapes (raisins de mer) & the term for tidal wave (raz-de-marée).
*Kakariko Plum 🍵/💧 (Sneaky) = (Prunus abdocina) A mysterious purple stone fruit that is sweet & sour with a hint of tanginess. A staple of Kakariko & beloved by Millie. Restores more ♡ than regular Apples. The Sheikah refer to them as Kakariko Ume (カカリコ梅, direct translation).
☆Swampfire Cayenne or Gajun Cayenne (Spicy: Piping-Hot) = (Capsicum limnivora) These hydrophytic bright red peppers are native to the Lanayru Wetlands, making them an important part of Gajun cuisine. It's quite spicy & aromatic in a way that tingles in the nostrils, as well as full of progestinitrone which tends to promote heat conservation & higher body temperature. Not the same as Spicy Peppers (Capsicum hyliae). In order to gain access to the Piping-Hot effect, it requires Infusion. The Zora of the Great Spring call them *Épices Piment (Pron: Ee-pees Pee-mon; Pepper Spices), Piment Feumarais (Pron: Pee-mon Foo-mah-rey; Swampfire Pepper), or Piment Ruralin (Pron: Pee-mon Roo-rahl-een; Ruralien Spice). But in Goponga, they call them Cayenne Feufollet (Pron: Kye-en Foo-foh-ley; Crazy-Fire Cayenne), Cayenne Fauxfeu (Pron: Kye-en Foh-foo; False-Fire Cayenne) or Cayenne Feufée (Pron: Kye-en Foo-fee; Fairy-Fire Cayenne). Many of these local names are in reference to marsh fire. The nearby Sheikah refer to them as Yutaka Tōgarashi (温唐辛子; ゆたかとうがらし, Warm Cayenne), but the Sheikah children call them *Pokapoka Supaisu (ポカポカスパイス, Warming Spice). In Deya they're more commonly called *Calderoncino (Pron: Cuhl-dey-rohn-chee-noh, Cauldron Hot Chili Pepper) & among los Mabenos it's *Especias Ígneas (Igneous Spices) or *Pimenta Cálida (Warm Pepper). - EoW Warm Pepper: 'These are a key ingredient in Gerudo cooking, but you can't use them in their current form.’ | In Golden Compass, Ma Costa says that Lyra is made of fire while the Gyptians are made of water. Says that Lyra has “witch oil” in her soul & is deceptive. Grows best in Lanayru & East Faron. Good in cocktails. Also wonderful in the making of dyes. The natives of Lanayru know them as Lavande de Voile-Rapide (Pron: Lah-vahnd du Voy-leh-rah-peed). The Sheikah refer to them as Kasoku-Ho Rabendā (快速帆ラベンダー, Fast-Sea Lavender). However, Faronite call them Māmā'aukai Kai'ina. - Known to pair well with Starlight Rosemary.
Bonemend Nettle (Recovery) = (Urtica osteosyndesis) This herb is well-known for bone repair. Can help new mothers to increase lactation. Tastes like something between spinach & cucumber.
Splint Comfrey (Recovery) = (Symphytum fixatus) A member of the borage family, this herb is well-known for bone repair. Is also referred to as a blood, bone, & flesh builder. It can also be used to help with the weakening of said bones, helping to alleviate osteoporosis, ect. It's also good to make into a balm, slather it onto the area of the bone, then make a sort of cast from the leaf. This way, it does its work both inside & outside. Though, normally, it's flowers are pink & quite droopy similar to bellflowers, when they fully bloom, they reveal themselves to be star-shaped. At which point, expect to see an increase in bee activity because they love these suckers. - Similarly helpful bone-aids include red sage, red clover, horsetail, thyme, & turmeric.
Emergency Boneset (Recovery) = (Eupatorium perfoliatum osteomanibus) This herb is well-known for bone repair. However, it is often dreaded due to its bitter & nauseating flavor. - Osteomanibus to mean bone-hands in reference to one who sets bones with their hands.
Passion Lily (Scorching & Amorous) = (Gloriosa flammesuperba) A sacred flower to the Gerudo as it is said that this was the flower that the first Gerudo came from. The Gerudo refer to them as Fashïna'dàrra. - A reference to the IRL Flame Lily.
Frostbane Blossom (Warm) = (Rubus silvestris) A flowering bush with leaves & flowers full of progesterone that, when consumed, aids in body heat regulation in regard to resisting lower temperatures. The flowers are a bright, orange-red & taste like spiced Lurelin Oranges & cranberries. The leaves, however, are more bitter. The bush itself has jagged, brambly limbs, but its leaves are thick, yet soft & felt-like. Can sometimes be obtained when harvesting Wildberries due to growing from the same bush. It grows wild around the Gerudo Highlands & a little bit in the southern parts of the Tabantha Frontier. Eaylians use the plant to keep warm & the flowers to make dye. Called Fïzelaen Fōrzuhr by the Highland Gerudo.
Hoy Mustard Greens (Spicy) = (Sinapis flavosalvis) The leaves tend to be very wavy. The smaller ones are more tender while the bigger ones require more cooking. Grows well in hotter regions, though while it can grow in the desert, it grows best in humidity. The Sheikah refer to them as Yā Kurashina (やあからし菜, direct translation). Those who live off the Faron East Coast call them Hoylua Makeke or Hoylua Sinapi.
Thunder Button (Stormy/Charged) = (Acmella scintilla) A cute little bulbous yellow & green flower that reacts to electricity. It has a grassy, slightly sour flavor accompanied by a pleasant tingling sensation (almost like eating a handful of Pop Rocks). Found all over Faron. The Sheikah call them Kaminari Parakuresu (雷パラクレス, Thunder Paracress), while the Gerudo refer to them as Hadir'dïzï. However, the residents of Faron call it Hekili Kaiki. - Based on IRL Szechuan Buttons, also called Buzz Buttons or Electric Daisies.
Goldenmerry 💖 (Dawning) = (Tagetes primaluce or Tagetes ductusaurora) Beautiful, cheery yellow & orange flowers that resemble the bunched ruffles of a dress. Tastes spicy with a saffron-like flavor. Symbolizes purity, divinity, & the connection between life & death. Was once a sacred flower to the Zonai & are now used by the Sheikah during Sheikioku. Their petals reflect the light of the sun as it rises & sets & are believed to lead lost souls back home. The Zonai referred to them as Felizavilla, while the Sheikah call them Ōgonshokuyōkina (黄金色陽気な, Golden Cheerful). - A marigold.
Bloodstun Quakweed ☠️+2 (-) = (Strychnos debilitofera) A type of plant that grows in Faron. When it enters into the bloodstream it causes paralysis that, if not treated, can even still one's lungs & result in suffocation. One skilled with natural medicines can use it to make a type of anesthesia & skilled Sheikah Dokushei can use it to make a poison that doesn't paralyze the lungs, but does paralyze everything else. Lurelin & Ordon residents often use it for hunting & trapping. Lurelin natives refer to them as Kokolōlō Olaipaka. - It's effectively curare.
Esprit Iris ☠️+¼ = (Iris spectarespirituum) A beautiful purple & blue flower. Said to have some connection to the spirit world. Often used to induce sight into the spirit world. While toxic to pets, only the underground stems & bulbs possess enough irisine to cause humans any real discomfort. The flowers, leaves, & aboveground stems are perfectly safe for consumption. However, this is only due to it being a wild iris.
Fatale Belladonna ☠️+2 (-) = (Solanum belladonna) A beautiful relative of the Blue Nightshade. While the flower & roots are toxic, the leaves are actually edible with a grassy flavor when young, & while the young little berries it produces are deadly, that's only in large amounts. As such, they can be used in various ways. In fact, if used correctly, the berries can be used to relieve pain & relax muscles. - A purposeful mix between Blackberry Nightshade & Deadly Nightshade.
★Swinetwist (Twisty) = (Linum usitatissicaudam) A fibrous speleophytic plant that's used to make textiles. Used to make fabric. - Inspired by Dwarf Fortress.
Candellia 🍵 (Vitality) = (Camellia cavomontibus) These lovely winter flowers & leaves are high in caffeine, so they’re commonly used to make matcha. It is what gives matcha its signature umami. Grown primarily in Sheikan settlements where its referred to as Jitsuzubaki no Hana (持続椿の花;じつづばきのはな), Dekirutsubaki no Hana (できる椿の花; できるつばきのはな), or Dechinru no Hana (で椿るの花; でちんるのはな), though the plant itself is spelled Yabu Jitsuzubaki (藪持続椿; やぶじつづばき, Tree with Shining Leaves) while the leaves are called Jimichin'yō (地み椿葉; じみちんよう). The leaves are steamed, then allowed to cool before being dried in an oven. Next, the veins are removed & the leaves crushed into Tencha (碾茶; てんちゃ, Tea for Grinding), then ground into a powder called Jimi Matcha (地み抹茶; じみまっちゃ, ground candellia tea). The flower is often seen as a symbol of love, adoration, & longing, as well as beauty, tradition, & elegance. However, it can also symbolize a noble death. Likewise, some also associate it with spiritual endurance in the face of religious persecution. - It’s supposed to be a joke on camellia & “can do.” Don’t know if it came across, though.
Stamstall Kudzu (Vitality) = (Pueraria sagittafolia var. lobata) A plant with a pretty purple & pink flower. Is used to make possibly the highest grade of starch in Hyrule. Grows mainly around the mountains of Kakariko, but can also be found infrequently around west Necluda in-general. While the plant itself has a bit of a spinach-like flavor & absorbs other flavors well, the flowers are what's most tasty as it imparts a grape-apple flavor combination to some, & strawberry-apple to others. The Sheikah refers to it as Genki-Kyūshi Kuzu (元気休止葛; げんききゅうしくず, Energetic Break Kudzu).
★Sand Cistanche (Vitality & Amorous 3) = (Cistanche deserticola) This golden-colored plant is a perennial parasitic herb that needs to grow on other plants to survive. It's sweet & salty to the taste & grows in dry areas such as the Gerudo Desert & Canyon, as well as the Ordona Grasslands. It is said to have many beneficial effects in regard to the reproductive system. Things like helping with erectile dysfunction, irregular menstruation, & even infertility. It also has many other health benefits such as boosting immunity, digestion, energy levels, & so on. However, it is also very rare in the wild & is, likewise, very difficult to farm as its cultivation is a major time investment, its planting cycle is long & has a slow harvest. Very good for cooking, but very rare & very, very expensive. - Inspired by My Time At Sandrock.
☆Windfall Campanula (Windshear) = (Campanula ventum) A white, bell-like flower that grows on beaches. Called Makani'hiolo Ohā Wai by the natives of the Faron East Coast. - Reference to Wind Waker's Town Flower. Resembles the White Campanula.
Here's a picture of a few of them that I made:
Tumblr media
Mushrooms:
Lacticap or Lattesolito ½❤️ = (Lactarius profunditatem) A short-stemmed mushroom with a large, round, wide, brown cap & cream-colored splotches that can be processed into a slightly brownish milk-like substance that’s high in calcium, which can be further processed into a fungal margarine or cheaze. Definitely mushroomy & earthy in flavor, but also very creamy & wonderfully tasty as well. The texture of the actual mushroom is also fairly interesting. And it's nutritious to boot! Only found in the Depths. - Inspired by IRL Milkcaps.
Benagiaca () = (Macrolepiota arboriformis fructifera) This “fruit” grows only in subterranean environments from giant, striped, pink & light blue, tree-like fungi known as Benombrellone. From the cap & its numerous shelf-like offshoots called conks, dark purple 'fruit' with rock-like formations at the bottom grow. A favorite of cave-dwelling fruit bats. The '_' are not true fruit & are only produced during fall & winter. They are actually more akin to Jackfruit, being actual growths. The fungus they grow from really prefers moist earth, which is lucky because they really only grow underground. It's believed that the fungi originally grew so large due to having very high fungal competition in their area. As such, they needed to grow taller in order to increase their spore shedding area. This would explain the need to reach higher among the canopy, as it would allow the mushroom to reach farther territory for their offspring to grow. - Inspired by Slime Rancher. Ben- for Bene meaning good (as opposed to Melo for both evil & apple), Giaca for jackfruit, & Ombrelloni is Italian for a breach umbrella, so literally “big umbrella.” When speaking of fruit, the fruit is feminine & the tree is masculine. Gotta thank mcapello on Reddit for the reason why they grow so tall. Also suggested that having a symbiotic relationship with algae could make them photosynthetic the way that prototaxites might have been. Suggesting that, if so, then they might have similar competitive needs for sunlight to trees, thereby causing them to need to grow taller in order to get more sunlight.
Cocotruffle = A variety of Depths-dwelling truffle with a rich, dark chocolate-y flavor with earthy, mushroomy undertones. Their pungent aroma is often described as being similarly so in that they smell very earthy & slightly sweet, with an understandably dark cocoa base, though they also smell faintly of roasted fall nuts & even with some notes of well-aged cheese & very slight wafts of something vanilla-like, but not quite. They're fairly rare, but they are often found buried beneath the bases of the few trees that grow in the Depths during spring, fall, & winter, preferring more moist areas. The Mogma have named them Cacàotartùfo. Used to make Sóttosuòlo di Cioccolàta, or Depths Chocolate, which is a chocolate substitute. One of their favorite desserts to make with them is Cioccotarùfos. Can also be used to make Chocotruffle Oil. - From Italian cacao & tartufo al cioccolata.
*Motheteer Fungi = (Orphiocordyceps sinensis) Is known by its appearance. Is dark gray to black with red & vibrantly aqua markings. - The Zombie-Moth Mushroom.
Wedding-Veil Sweethorn ¼❤️/☠️ (Amorous 2) = (Phallus amatores) This pink Depths mushroom has its own veil & closely related to Phallus impudicus & Phallus indusiatus. Though toxic, it's very edible with the correct preparation. The first step of which is by simply removing the veil. Tastes oddly sweet, like Deya Peach cream with Oasis Honey, which makes it good for flavoring desserts. Unlike other members of the Phallusae family, this fungus actually has a very pleasant fragrance. Its spores are a highly effective aphrodisiac, however the effects only activate when a sufficient level of dopamine & norepinephrine is found in the body. As such, it only activates in the presence of someone that the individual not only finds attractive, but actively likes in a romantic sense. Its effects can be countered by a high enough release of oxytocin in the bloodstream or by avoiding such individuals until it's worked through your system. However, if you don't get enough oxytocin, you could die. The oxytocin flushes the toxin from your body. They're also thought to make it easier to conceive. - *whispers* I'm not gonna lie to ya'll, it's basically just a Sex Pollen McGuffen.
Dreichcap ½❤️ (Dark/Warding) = (Coprinopsis tenebrentia) Grants Gloom Resistance when cooked. As it ages, its gills turn to ink, which Mogma use for writing. Interesting thing is that using it makes forging difficult as you can see the spores under a microscope. While delicious, the ink itself can become poisonous if consumed with alcohol. It also has a ridiculously short shelf life. To the point where you can't leave them out all night. - Looks like an Inky Cap. Found all over the Depths. Nero for black. Atra for black, mentaria from atramentaria.
Noctruffle ¼❤️ (Potent Dreamy) = (Mycena altusomnem) A mushroom with a tall, aqua cap with a blue splotch on the tip & yellow stripes at the bottom that gives off a soothing scent. Tastes & smells faintly of Swiftsail Lavender, chamomile, & Courser Honey. Both the scent & meat of the mushroom is potently somnolent in nature & if you're not careful with how much you eat, it could send you into a sleep so deep you never wake up. Only the scent of the Mawkap can counter its effects. The Sheikah refer to them as Nokutoryufu (ノクトリュフ, direct translation) or Konsui Toryufu (昏睡トリュフ, Coma Truffle).
Magma Eyelash ½❤️ (Fireproof) = (Scutellinia pyrotentia) Grants Fire Resistance when cooked. Only found in the Depths. Specifically, in the Eldin Depths.
Gilled Brittlestem ¼❤️/💧 (Bubble: Gills) = (Psathyrella aquatica) A relative of the Swallet Brittlestem. Allows to Breathe Underwater temporarily when cooked. Found only in bodies of water. The Sheikah call them Era-Tsuki Moroishimeji (鰓付き脆い占地, direct translation). - Inspired by IRL Gilled Brittlestem.
Faebrella ¼❤️/🩵 (Glow) = (Mycena dryadalis) These tiny, glowing, multicolor mushrooms can be found all over forests where Fairies & Minish dwell such as near Bone Pond, Minshi Grove, & the Hyrule Great Forest, but it’s very very rare. They love these mushrooms as their long, thin stems & wide, but thin caps make for perfect umbrellas or parasols. Also called Faerasols. They seem to have a very pleasant, yet exciting taste that goes with almost anything & a strangely fluffy texture. The Sheikah refer to them as Yōseigasa (妖精傘, Fairy Umbrella) or Yōsei Higasa (妖精日傘, Fairy Parasol). - Inspired by IRL Pixie Parasols, but not entirely.
Swallet Brittlestem ¼❤️/💧 (Rapid) = (Psathyrella aquaterra) A relative of the Gilled Brittlestem. Increases Swim Speed when cooked. Only found in the Depths. Specifically in the Lanayru, Akkala, & Necluda Depths.
Langostail ½❤️ (Riptide) = (Hypomyces locustae) These mushrooms often parasitize other mushrooms & can be found when foraging for mushrooms that have a central stripe, gills, & rounded caps. Sometimes referred to as the “Inland Lobster” due to its flavor. - Essentially a lobster mushroom.
Viscid Porcini ½❤️ (Sticky) = (Boletus lentum) A porcini coated in a viscus substance. Grants Slip Resistance. Only found in the Depths.
Sunbutton or Soleni ½❤️ | 💖+3 (Bright) = (Amanita terrasolaris) A type of yellow, spotted Amanita that shines brightly in the dark & relative of the Brightcap. The first were said to have grown from the tears of the goddess Hylia, reinforced by the fact that they are proven to be infused with sun magic & give off sunlight. Full of vitamin D. So much so that it takes a special process to prepare them to be safe for consumption. Without said process, one could easily die of radiation poisoning. However, they are delicious as they have a very bright & warm, comforting flavor. Retains a mushroomy taste, but somehow isn't as earthy as other fungi. Too much at once, however, can make you sick. Produces a bright light that helps to fend off the Gloom. Found all over the Depths.
☆Petrishroom ½❤️ (Tough) = (_ _) A fungus that's hard enough to be legally considered a murder weapon. While technically edible/digestible to any race, only Gorons, Mogmas… or Link… could really ever hope to bite into one without losing teeth. Let alone digest it when whole. Anyone else would have to crush it into powder & bake it into bread or something to really be able to appreciate the flavor as when crushed well enough, it loses the gritty texture that you'd expect from something like it. As such, most Gorons prefer to grill them, cleave them into sections, or break them apart into chunks so they can really appreciate the gravely, yet slightly powdery texture & saltpeter-like inner flesh. No matter how you prepare it though, it sits in your gut like your grandma's matzo ball soup… And boy howdy, the passage is quite the ride. Only Gorons seem able to bypass that particular feature. Can be found all over Eldin growing from rocks both in caves & on the Surface. Can also be found all over the Depths, but mostly in the Eldin section as everywhere else, they tend to be pretty spaced out. They have a... unique flavor. Definitely very mushroomy & earthy, with some oaky & woody notes. And the ones that grow around molten rock tend to have a little bit of a sulfurous aftertaste that the Gorons & Mogmas really like. Though not many non-earth-based races enjoy it. Apparently, grilling it directly really brings out the sulfurous & previously hidden coppery, irony flavors while adding on a hint of charcoal to its profile. (Yes, I am talking out my ass, why do you ask?) The Sheikah refer to them as Shōsekidake (硝石ダケ, Salpeter Shroom). - Reference to Oracle of Seasons.
★Plump Helm ½❤️ (Tough) = (_ galea) A dusky purple mushroom with a cap shaped like a helmet. Can be found in the Depths. - Reference to Dwarf Fortress.
☆Mawkap ¼❤️/☠️+3 = (Amanita putriduma) A horrendously virose orange mushroom with a yellow top. So putrid is it that it easily acts as a natural smelling salt. Has a downright vile taste & should never be eaten under any circumstances. Will cause violent nausea & vomiting to the point of internal bleeding. Can easily kill you if you don't act quickly enough & it won't be a pleasant death either. On the other hand, a tiny amount acts as a damn good laxative. Not to mention, smelling it is relatively safe if horrid to experience. Breathing in the pollen is the only known cure for Dragonsbane or Noctruffle poisoning. The Sheikah refer to them as Fuhai Shita Bōshi (腐敗した帽子, Putrid Cap) or Kusatta Bōshi (腐った帽子, Rotten Cap). - Inspired by the smelly mushroom used to wake the Shoemaker in Minish Cap.

Interesting Fun Fact: Lightning strikes can more than double some mushroom crops, according to ongoing experiments that are jolting fungi with electricity.
To me, this says that lightning mages would be very good mycoculturists.
---
I'm trying to think of other ingredients, but want them to be unique & interesting.
These possible ingredients include:
Papaya
Date
Squash
Broccoli
Either way, if anyone has any ideas, please send them my way.
---
Also, by cooking enough dishes, maybe you can expand the number of ingredients you can use from 5 to 6 &, eventually, 7-10.
---
Plus, I had a thought about Purah using Zonaite to build something of a Zonaite Keg, (or specifically, Zonaite Keg Rings, so the alcohol can still get the benefit of the barrel's wood) which would use runes to tap into time magic & use a sort of Accellerate spell, which would be sort of like a reverse Recall. This would allow them to speed up the brewing process.
One questchain could be to use a wagon to haul a bunch of kegs to every settlement. Though only after the chaos in the area has been dealt with. As a reward for each load of kegs delivered, Link would get to buy the local booze at a reduced price & upon delivering to all the settlements, he'd be given a free keg for his home (which may prompt the building of a wine cellar of sorts). But, even though the keg speeds up the process, it'd still take a couple days to make the booze.
Good thing you make it in bulk. Which is another thing I'd add. Cooking in bulk.

The Melts
Author's Note: A while back I had a bit of a ramble on how I wished that it was more common to find examples of human bodies artistically warped into new and interesting configurations presented in a manner other than horror and gave an off-the-top of my head example of a hypothetical episode of a slice-of-life series going on that theme. A couple months passed, and then with Halloween approaching, I decided on a whim to slam out a rough draft of that story over the weekend. So here we are. Summary: What if your entire body slowly melting over the course of the day got treated as being no worse than the common cold and you still have to go to work because you work retail and already used up all your sick days? Wordcount: 5,295 Content Warnings: Descriptions of the sensation of one's body slowly melting into a fleshy pile of goo, various weird anatomical modifications, spider-like creatures crawling all over people, having to go into work while sick.
Mil had the melts.
They became aware of this approximately four and a half minutes after waking up when their hand made an unfortunate squelch sound upon palming their alarm clock’s snooze button.  They held their hand in place in denial for another half minute while their arm slowly stretched and drooped down into the space between bed and bedside table.  They reluctantly opened their eyes and groaned at the sight of the clock’s contour pressing up through a hand whose bones had gone limp and elastic.
It was going to be one of those days.
The thought of calling in sick today briefly crossed their mind, but no, it was close to the end of the year and they’d already used up all of their sick days.  Any more would have to come out of their precious holiday leave time.
It was fine, they told themself while throwing back the covers of their bed and pointedly ignoring how that arm curled back around on itself from the momentum.  It was only a mild case and it would probably clear up by the time their shift was over.  Enough to be annoying but nothing worth making a fuss over.  Unless it was a severe case, but that almost never happens.
As a small mercy, Mil’s legs weren’t as melted as their arm so they only almost fell over immediately upon standing up on appendages that bent and swayed in spots that don’t have joints.  Thank goodness for counterbalancing tails.  People often called their look basic, but Mil preferred to think of it as classic.  Feline ears and tails had been among the first reshapings to see mainstream adoption and Mil had personally always found more complicated additions of prehensile limbs and sensory organs to be a nightmare of overstimulation.  Plus, the ears and tail were a nice aid in emoting to make up for the difficulty Mil usually had with expressing themself by voice and face alone.
By the time Mil reached the kitchen they’d found a workable rhythm to their unsteady gait that managed to keep them mostly upright.  No time for anything complicated for breakfast, and probably best to keep away from the toaster in this state, so cereal it was.  That had its own complications of course - grip the spoon too loosely and its weight would stretch their fingers down and apart, but too tightly and their whole hand would roll itself up and try to retract back into their arm - but several minutes of grumbling around mouthfuls of wheat byproduct and dairy tree milk where enough to convince Mil that it wasn’t really all that bad and that they’d be able to manage at work today.
They pointedly ignored the ensuing contrary evidence that came in the form of their legs getting stuck on the inside of their pants and rolling up into lumpy balls until they gave up and went with a skirt.  They’d already spent all the time they normally would have devoted to their morning workout on trying to pour themself into a tight turtleneck while getting the right body parts through the right holes.  Supposedly wearing snug-fitting clothing like this was an effective way to hold your shape relatively solid in a bad case of the melts - which Mil definitely (probably) didn’t have - but in practice it was not as useful a tip as its popularity would suggest.
But hey, they were fed, dressed and out of the house almost on time, so that was a victory.  And it meant they were almost on time to catch the tram before it left.  Oh.  Wait.
It’s fine, they told themself while fiddling with the straps on the mask they’d donned on their way out the door.  It would only be a few minutes until the next tram scuttled up.  They’d only be a little bit late to work.  Everyone would understand.  Afterall, who hadn’t had the melts before?  In the meantime it gave them a few extra moments to try to get their mask to squeeze their head into a less embarrassing shape.  If Mil had to go in sick, it was the least they could do to try not to spread it.  But if they could be considerate while not having their skull get squished in the middle into the shape of a peanut, that’d be great.
A few pats on the side of the face, a push on the the top of their head, some hard nodding, get their fingers untangled from the mask straps aaannnddd…. A plop and a dizzying snap as Mil felt their jaw distend and the lower half of their face slide fully into the mask just as the next tram arrived.  Checking their reflection out in the tram’s shiny carapace confirmed that their head was an acceptable shape.  Maybe a little bit snout-y, but they could write that off as being part of the feline look.  So long as no one saw the mess under their mask.
The good part of being out at the end of the line like this is that Mil almost always got a decent seat on the tram and plenty of time to listen to their audio books.  It almost made up for the long commute.  Of course, today one earbud kept falling off the top of their head every few minutes from that ear not holding its shape well enough and the other one was worming its way uncomfortably far into an ear that seemed to be trying to swallow it through a series of expansions and contractions that mirrored Mil’s breathing.  By the second stop Mil gave up and shoved both earbuds back into a skirt pocket, resigning themself to ride stewing in silence.
That silence only lasted one more stop when the bulk of the other commuters started to pour in.  By the fifth stop Mil was firmly wedged between a shell-backed construction worker and a twelve-armed switchboard operator who had enough respect for personal space to keep those arms wrapped around zemself but not enough to not press three different elbows into Mil's ribs.  Mil tried not to hold it against zem.  It was the morning rush hour.  Getting pressed together was to be expected.  Even if that meant winding up half a foot taller and considerably flatter.  Mil tried not to think about how many people they were spreading their melts to.
At the ninth stop Mil extruded themself from the over-packed tram and toddered over to a bench to catch their breath.  If they were going to be late anyway, what was an extra minute or two to let their shoulderblades stop overlapping and left and right halves of their ribcage stop interlacing?  Just a few deep breaths to puff their torso back out and they were good to go.  They could fix their hair later after they got into a restroom to wash the public transit funk off their hands.
Walking into the store’s employee entrance a couple blocks down the street, Mil was greeted with the terrifying visage of their manager, Baroft.  The smile wasn’t terrifying because of the fangs (Mil had been considering getting some themself for some time now but couldn’t quite justify it with how little meat they ate), nor because of the extra pair of slit-pupiled crimson eyes (pretty standard for those who could adapt to the extra sensory input), nor even for the contrast with the face’s second mouth that wasn’t smiling (that one never smiled, it wasn’t the customer service voice mouth).  No, that smile was terrifying because if Baroft was happy - even worse, relieved - to see them walk in the door late for work, then that could only mean one thing.
The store was short-staffed today.
Mil would have to deal with customers.
Mil was - generally speaking - not good with people even on the best of days, and today was - as the flesh of their hand pooling at their fingertips under the force of gravity like ripening fruit would attest - not the best of days.  Most of the time they got by on trading duties with coworkers to spend as much of their workday as possible on the backend duties; stocking inventory, cleaning, feeding the weavers, updating displays, etc.  If one good thing could be said about Baroft it was that after seeing Mil awkwardly stumble through enough customer conversations and fitting attempts, yt had realized that putting them in a customer-facing role was more likely to lose the store money than earn it.
But now Baroft was complaining about Rangel being out on jury duty at the same time as Kalei being unable to come in due to thons kid pupating, and Paras from the evening shift had called in sick, so Mil could just imagine the sort of morning Baroft has been having, and Mil was going to have to be a team player and pull through just for today all the way through until closing time, and yes there would be overtime compensation once they made up for arriving late, and what’s Mil complaining about it’s just the melts, if they were able to get here then obviously isn’t that serious, now no attitude and best behavior in front of the customers, it was already bad enough that yt had had to call Leolani and ask eir to come in early today.
That last part cut through Baroft‘s blizzard of words and caused Mil’s heart to skip a beat.  Leolani usually arrived just as Mil was getting ready to leave for the day so they didn’t know eir all that well, but the handful of brief conversations the two of them had shared always left Mil wanting to change that.  It wasn’t a crush per say, only that everything about Leolani struck Mil as indescribably cool and made them wish they could be friends and hang out.  Eir jacket covered in punk patches that ei left draped over the chair in the employee breakroom that no one else dared claim.  Eir perfect eyeliner.  The way ei could multitask taking one customer’s measurements while uncoiling eir twelve-foot neck over to help another customer pick out a suit off the rack.  Eir taste in music that had made the basis for the longest interaction Mil had managed with eir.
Under other circumstances, the opportunity to spend the day commiserating with Leolani over being the two youngest employees by a wide margin and how awful the holiday rush that started earlier every year was might have almost made up for having to work late.  Now though, they were suddenly feeling self-conscious about the way their spine had started to go limp in places and force them into a slouch.
Mil’s trip to the restroom to straighten up in front of the mirror was a perfunctory one.  They might have arrived late to work, but no way were they going to be late to feed the weavers on schedule.  Elam - in early and still in nir fall look of leaf-like orange hair and skin covered in gray keratin growths mimicking tree bark - gave a marginally less brusque than usual greeting when Mil pushed aside the heavy curtain separating the dim tailoring room from the shop, even going so far as to offer nir sympathies for Mil’s melts.  Mil’s more solid hand glorped over one of the nutrient slurry canisters on the shelf as they insisted that they were fine.  Just a minor case of the melts that would clear up by the afternoon.
Elam raised a skeptical woody eyebrow and offered to handle the feeding duties today, but Mil declined and stepped into the weavers’ enclosure.  The way Mil saw it, they were something like an apprentice to Elam who had finally promised to teach them how to direct the weavers once the new year rolled around, so any chance to prove themself… well, it wasn’t so much welcome as not something they could afford to pass up.  Experienced weaver handlers were always in demand (as evidenced by Elam being able to afford four full-body reshapes a year just to keep up the image of a tree changing with the seasons), and honestly it was the closest thing Mil had to a career advancement opportunity.
Besides, Mil genuinely liked working with weavers, they thought as the small swarm of arachnoid bio-tools began crawling all over them to get to the nutrient slurry.  It was important that the weavers were well-fed in the morning before any clients came in for a fitting lest they get either too tired or too carried away with their purpose.  As it was, a few of the weavers must have failed to recognize Mil’s scent and shape due to their illness and mistaken them for a client, forcing Mil to gently shoo the engineered creatures off before the threads of their turtleneck could be unpicked and reassembled into whatever pattern the weavers had last been installed with.  Most of the chittering swarm sloughed off to feed once the nutrient slurry had been dispensed and Mil was able to encourage the stragglers to depart from their body heat without too much trouble.
To Mil’s chagrin, once they stepped back outside of the enclosure Elam leaned over and plucked a weaver off the back of their neck that had pushed their unusually pliant skin into a little bowl to nest in.  Mil’s stammering apology was met with a laugh and an encouraging slap on the back that made their whole body ripple unpleasantly.  Better than a reprimand.
Back out in the main store, Leolani had already arrived and engaged with the first customers of the morning, signing at one with eir hands while stretching eir neck over an aisle of racks to explain the fitting process to another.  When ei caught Mil staring, ei sent the second customer their way.  The next few minutes constituted the first grueling attempt of many that day to talk someone who wasn’t really all that interested (whether due to boredom, intimidation, lack of intent to buy, or just wanting to get their stuff and get out) through pricing options on bespoke versus alterations by limb configuration and fabric type.  Or failing that to sell something off the rack, even if it was just an expensive pair of socks with the store’s monogram on it.  Or failing that at least collect an email address for a mailing list.  This is what made the holiday rush so awful.  The rest of the year most of the store's customers were regulars who mostly had a specific goal upon walking in, but for the next couple of months traffic would surge with only a minimal uptick in actual sales to show for it.  All the same, everyone that walked in had to be treated as a potential new regular just in case.  As if it wasn’t already anxiety-inducing enough to deal with people whom Mil possessed at least a passing familiarity with.
By noon Mil’s ears were pressed flat back against their skull.  In part, this was an expression of their mood, but mostly it was a matter of the ears’ swivel muscles losing cohesion and getting stuck in the last used position.  It was making it a little bit difficult to hear clearly, but they had long since learned the hard way that making a rough guess and sticking to a script tended to be received better than asking people to repeat themselves.  At last the lunch-time lull arrived and Mil was able to steal off to the break room for a reprieve.  It was blessedly quiet in there save for the hum of the refrigerator holding the protein shakes Mil had stashed for days too busy for a proper lunch.  Mil dipped into that stash today.  Their melts were getting worse before they were getting better and the prospect of trying to wobble down the street in their current state to their usual lunch spot where they would surely be recognized struck Mil as lethally embarrassing.  And exhausting.
They took the opportunity to examine the patches on Leolani‘s jacket (draped over eir chair in undisputed claim as ever) while they struggled first with the shake’s cap and then with their mask.  Their fingers weren’t cooperating much at all now, between having gone mostly limp and being plumped up with all the flesh their normally-flatteringly-body-hugging turtleneck was now squeezing out of their torso and arms and into their extremities.  At least one or two of the patches on the jacket had to do with bands, Mil was fairly certain.  Would it make for a better conversation starter to ask Leolani about those bands, or to look up and listen to the music up themself first in order to have something in common?  Mil mulled the question over while nursing their shake.  Better than thinking about the similarities between their lunch and the weavers’ breakfast.
As Mil threw their head back to drain the last few drops from the protein shake’s bottle, they felt their spine come loose and their head just kept going back.  And down.  And around.  Until it bumped into the back of the low-backed chair, upside down and just above their own waist.
They had folded themself.
Mil took a breath, held it, let it out, and came away even less calm than before.  Lungs not making up their mind where they should be will do that to a body.
It was fine.  This sort of thing happened.  Annoying, but nothing serious.
Mil tried to swing themself upright, but it was the sudden lack of back muscles that got them into this position.  They tried grabbing the chair and pulling themself up into an unbent vertical, but the strain just stretched out their hands.  They tried to do the obvious thing and just stand up, but folded like a wet, heavy towel as they were over the chair’s back, they couldn’t get the proper leverage and just scrambled their feet, scooting the chair along the floor with a teeth-itching squeak.
Mil heard Leolani walk in before they saw eir.  Not that they could see much besides the floor behind their chair.  Leolani asked if they were alright and Mil’s mind raced with enough potential responses that it might as well have gone blank.  But then fear of getting stuck won out over pride.  There was no salvaging this one to come out looking cool.
Mil asked for help.  Just a little bit mind you.  They’d be fine if they could just get themself unfolded.
Boots made for digitigrade feet stepped into Mil’s inverted view, followed by a round face with perfect eyeliner that then rotated to match their perspective in a motion that suddenly shifted the impression from serpentine to owlish.  A light joke about the view from down there was quickly followed by a warning that came at the same time as a pair of hands gripping (very literally) into Mil’s shoulders and lifting.  Once ei had them upright ei asked if they were good.  Mil said they were and then immediately slumped forward, overcorrecting and refolding in the opposite direction.
Leolani, neck now coiled up over and around eir own shoulders like a scarf, told them to hang for a minute and then came back with a mop handle and a roll of duct tape.  A comment about a friend of eirs once having done this for eir and an apology about this feeling weird was all the warning Mil got before the Leolani began working the mop handle up the back of their shirt.  Ei called it the scarecrow method of stabilization.  After producing a pair of compression gloves from eir messenger bag and helping Mil get them on, Leolani let them apply the duct tape in private with a reassurance that it was the cheap stuff and would come off after a decent soak in a hot bath, if not sooner.
Trying to walk with the improvised back brace was awkward, but better than the alternative.  Mil shambled out of the employee break room, wondering how much longer their legs would stay semi-solid, just in time to see a regular they recognized but couldn’t put a name to walk in.  Somehow additional legs were far less popular than additional arms, so this regular’s centaur pattern group body configuration stuck out.  Not that Mil knew for sure whether it was hooves, feet, or claws beneath those patent leather shoes and it would be rude to ask.  What Mil did know at a glance was what xe was here for.  The regular’s bat-like wings (aesthetically impressive and flexible enough to clasp in the front and fold into a cloak, but almost certainly not flight-, or even glide-rated) hadn’t been present on xyr last visit to the store.  Now here was something that was as close to Mil’s comfort zone as anything got.
They greeted the regular and went through their mental script for this sort of interaction, making the appropriate vague inquiries about xyr wellbeing, complimenting xyr new wings, trying not to drip on anything as their melts slowly got worse, guiding xem through the booklets of fabric swatches and catalog of styles, and dancing around the fact that they couldn’t remember xyr name for the life of them.  Once the regular made their selections, Mil led xem back to the tailoring room where they handed the selections off to Elam.  Strictly speaking, Mil should have left it be from there and returned to the main display floor of the store, but they liked watching this next part and were even more willing than usual today to take any excuse for a break.  If anyone asks (no one will) they’ll say that they were taking notes.  Or would saying that they were assisting sound better?  Whatever the truth would be on most days, this time Mil simply leaned on a wall for support and watched Elam type in a console to install the selected pattern on the weavers, guide the regular into the weavers’ enclosure, and start speaking in the language of clicks, snaps, and command phrases the bio-tools had been trained on.  What before had been a disorganized collection of individual lab-created arachnoid creatures became a precision swarm washing over the regular (who had been through this enough times not to flinch too much), taking xyr measurements by touch with sensitive legs able to estimate and account for offsets due to the regular’s clothes by pressure and texture alone.  Once each of the individual weavers was in position on the regular’s body Elam snapped nir fingers to send the swarm skittering into a different position, held for a few seconds of processing, then snapped again for a third configuration.  A larger swarm could have generated a full three dimensional scan of a target’s body in one go, but the upkeep costs on swarm size wasn’t generally seen as being worth it just to shave off a few seconds.  A final command word cleared the swarm back into the corners of the enclosure.
Like most customers, the regular elected to come back later in the day to pick up xyr new suit and have any last-minute alterations made then.  As opposed to partially undressing and allowing the weavers to weave the new suit directly on.  Supposedly the latter option would get a truly amazing bespoke fit, but for most it wasn’t worth standing still for an extended period of time with bug legs crawling all over you and working miniaturized biological sewing machines millimeters away from your exposed skin.  Maybe one day when Mil had Elam‘s job and income they could find out for themself.  For now though, Mil simply offered to lend nem a hand with loading in the fabric feedstock to get the assembly process started.  It seemed that pinstripes were making a comeback this season.
The next few hours were, all things considered, not too bad.  A decent portion of customers were regulars rather than randoms, Mil got to watch a couple more sessions of the weavers at work, the one song that they weren’t tired of on the station the store had been running on loop for the past three weeks came on, and - most importantly - they’d managed to keep up something like an ongoing conversation with Leolani in between customers.  Now if only their melts hadn’t been getting steadily worse instead of better.  By the time Mil’s normal shift would be ending they were having trouble standing up for more than a minute or so at a time.  Elam even offered to talk to Baroft on nir way out - ne still got to live at nir usual time today - about letting them go on home.  Against Mil’s better judgment, they turned nem down, citing the appeal of overtime pay and silently fearing that leaving might reflect poorly on their performance or attitude.
So, of course, two hours later Mil’s skeletal structure gave out altogether, reducing them to a fleshy puddle on the floor.  They’d felt it coming on and had just barely been able to make it back to the breakroom and out of sight of customers.  Leolani came rushing in moments later, having seen their attempt at a distressed and hasty exit.  If there was a silver lining to the gross (they were on the floor in a public building) and embarrassing situation, it was that their skirt had flared out enough to preserve some semblance of modesty and mostly cover up the skin-covered blob slowly spreading across the linoleum.
When Leolani asked if they were alright, Mil’s response came out garbled and bubbling.  So, no, not so much.
After several rounds of “One blink for No, two blinks for Yes,” Mil managed to first turn down an offer to call an ambulance (it might be a severe case, but it was still just the melts; they would sleep it off and be fine by morning) and then to direct Leolani to retrieve their phone and its neurolink adapter from their skirt pocket and attach the adapter to Mil’s forehead (or at least a spot on Mil’s increasingly amorphous form slightly above their eyes).  Neurolinks like this one were a clumsy technology, still in its infancy, so Mil had to concentrate on a single letter at a time for a second or three apiece to make words appear on the screen, but it beat the alternative.  From there the two of them were able to talk - after a fashion - and settle on the plan of laying Mil out in the tailoring room, out of sight of both customers and Baroft.  If Baroft asked where they were, Leolani would cover for them and say that they were handling some task or another that Elam left for them.  Afterall, with Mil only being able to sort of writhe and flop around, it’s not like they were going to be able to get themself home, so may as well just sleep it off here.
Unprompted, Leolani input eir contact info into Mil’s phone before leaving them in there.  Being able to exchange text messages made lying there barely able to move in the dimly lit room for the remaining hours until closing time considerably more tolerable.  Almost pleasant even, despite how exhausting trying to type with the neurolink for extended periods of got to be.  The white noise of the nearby weavers’ chitters and skitters helped.
And then, as the store’s closing time was approaching and the last customer left for the night, Leolani offered to take Mil home instead of leaving them in the store overnight.  Mil could keenly feel the spike in their heart rate at the question rippling through their not-quite liquefied form.  The added clarification that Leolani had realized about an hour ago that the two of them both lived roughly the same part of town with the same tram stop so it wouldn’t be much of a detour for eir to drop them off at their place quickly dispelled the wilder fantasies (terrifying and idealistic alike) that Mil’s mind had started jumping to.
Mil was aware, objectively speaking, that they didn’t really know Leolani all that well outside of the off-and-on conversations about hobbies and interests they’d been having most of the day and that letting someone like that know your address and handing them your keys wasn’t really the smartest idea.  Subjectively speaking however, Mil was tired, young, and platonically infatuated with their cool coworker whom they seemed to be hitting it off well with.
A few minutes later Mil heard Leolani‘s and Baroft‘s voices outside the backroom’s curtain and caught snippets of Leolani offering to close up the store for the night and lying that Baroft had just missed Mil leave a minute ago.  Another minute or two of silence followed before Leolani pushed aside the curtain and strutted over to Mil carrying a large bucket.  It took some doing, but ei got them to fit.  The melts made flesh as compressible as it made it elastic.
Somehow being scooped up, poured into a bucket, and pressed on until they fit was not the most embarrassing experience Mil had been through that day.
Leolani was able to lift Mil’s bucket with relative ease.  Surprising at first, but on second thought, Leolani must have had some manner of musculoskeletal reinforcements for strength and balance if ei was walking around with all that extra weight from eir neck sitting on eir shoulders all the time.
The conversation on the way back home was fairly one-sided.  It was simply too hard to concentrate on typing through the neurolink with all the novel sensations going on.  Sloshing slightly in the bucket as it swung with Leolani‘s gait.  Staring straight up into the night sky (or eir face) while moving.  The uncomfortable warmth generated from being their own folded blanket stuffed in a tight space.  The rumbling of the tram transferred through the floor and sides of the bucket making their whole body quiver and vision blur.  It was fine though.  Mil had never been a big talker and Leolani seemed more than willing to fill the space.  Or was ei intentionally trying to keep Mil distracted from all those other less pleasant aspects of their current situation?  If ei was, it was working.  And it turned out Mil hadn’t even needed to ask about the band patches; Leolani had started talking at length about them all on eir own.  Best of all, stuck looking out of the bucket up at the ceiling like this, Mil couldn’t see anyone else staring at them and could almost pretend it was just the eir and them without the eyes of strangers that had always made them uncomfortable.
And then Leolani was standing at the door to Mil’s apartment, holding their keys.  Ei let eirself inside, carrying Mil’s bucket with eir, found their bed, lifted them from the bucket, and laid them out flat on top of the sheets.  Being exposed to cool air again was a blessed relief.  They would absolutely need a shower in the morning, but for right now they were too exhausted to care.  They tried not to think too hard about how being rather literal putty in Leolani‘s hands felt.
Duty done and aid rendered, Leolani left the neurolink on Mil’s face in case anything came up in the night before they solidified, left the keys on the bedside table, left the lights off, and left the apartment.
On eir way out, ei suggested hanging out together sometime when they weren’t sick.
*******
Mil’s hand made a perfectly normal pap sound upon palming their alarm clock’s snooze button.  Their hand was hand-shaped and none of their bones wobbled.  And why wouldn’t that be the case after a good night’s sleep?
It had only been the melts.

Postcards from Snagglepuss
So what could it be like fixing chili with the Hair Bear Bunch?
Crazy. And then some.
Witness a rather amusing little episode the other night with the crew at Crazy Claws' retreat on Lake Delton, one which saw the Hair Bear Bunch (led, naturally, by the ever-unpredictable Hair Bear) prepare quite the pot of chili for supper.
One, mind you, which required getting no less than three pounds of ground beef and two modest-sized cans of chili beans, let alone a small jar of Pleasoning Chili Seasoning for the spice. Not to mention having to make sure the grease from the frying beef was properly disposed of, and in such a way that, over time, such wouldn't stink up the place with the sheer rancidity.
"And you wonder how waste hamburger fat would react to leftover peanut oil used for deep frying turkeys come Thanksgiving," as Crazy Claws put it, "at the local waste fats recycling point. Especially since it's bound to become biofuel anyway ... and just hope that the exhaust on cars actually using biofuel don't smell rancid in the end."
"Which has us thinking about redoing the engine on our motorhome," Huckleberry Hound added, "to use biofuels."
"Especially," added I, "when we're with Peter Potamus and his band of divers come the winter. Down in the Caribbean, even!"
"And you wonder where biofuel can be easily obtained," Square Bear quipped, "what with service stations not making such all that easy to obtain."
But at any rate, the discussion of turning waste hamburger grease into biofuel as a byproduct of fixing chili was but bound to come aside as the chili was bubbling away, the Southwestern aromatics bound to infiltrate the retreat in the face of a clear, but chill autumnal-type day for Wisconsin, the kind where the mail is bound to include a Swiss Colony or Figi's catalogue of mail-order cheeses and other food gifts screaming "WISCONSIN!!" at its cheesiest. And even Pixie and Dixie couldn't resist paging through one such for gifting-type ideas, content in the knowledge that their planting genetically-modified catnip was giving Jinksie the fits.
And by the time sunset came along--which turned out to be as much the time for serving the chili, right down to the whole wheat saltine crackers and shredded cheese complementing the whole, as well as some decent ginger ale to stimulate appetites and complement the spiciness of the chili ... you'll never guess who was the most enthused for the chili: Dum-Dum, the boon compadre unto Touché Turtle, he as would over the summer enjoy houseboating with Bristlehound on the Mississippi in search for Friday fish fry.
Not to be outdone, the Hair Bear Bunch "themselves" had quite the fill of chili on their account. After all, it was their idea to get the chili supper started, even with the jokes about how the grease from the frying hamburger would be disposed of in the end ... though Hair Bear admitted that he probably had a hankering most serious for some old-school chili himself.
And who could imagine the smell of flatus ensuing, enough for the Ozium to be deployed to keep the air sweet, even if it was bound to be a hospitals-in-winter sort of smell?

First post! The world so far.
Hello Tumblr
This blog is gonna be about my Hardcore world, the things I do in it and the things surrounding it! This ranges from building farms in game to making the Youtube videos about them and everything else I do for this world.
From start to end
The beginning
Apologies for the clickbaity thumbnail, i dont like it either.
This is my 10th Hardcore world, hence S10. There was really only 1 other noteworthy world, S9, but its boring ahh hell compared to S10. The death of that world is what is referenced in the first clip of the vid
As usual the first thing i did was get to the End asap and beat the dragon. Lowkey speedrunning means if i die during the hardest part of the game, i lose pretty much no progress.
youtube
The video is literally just me beating the game relatively fast, and instantly getting like 3 elytras cus of sheer luck. Nothing super interesting compared to the kind of shit thats coming up.
"Early" game
Early game for me is probably not like the casual Minecraft, i pretty much start with an elytra and loot from the End cities.
youtube
Video speaks for itself mostly, i looted an Ancient city for Swift Sneak, made an xp farm, got more gear etc. all necessary to do basic stuff. Theres also a tutorial for an iron farm :DDD its very in depth and amazing! Oh and also a "stone farm" (stone generator), mob farm and yeah its still not that interesting.
The wither skeleton skull gathering compilation at the end is one of my favourite sequences ive made in a while now. Hades music is so perfect for them.
Time for farming
Hooooly shit i can barely even begin to tell you just how many farms are in this episode, its probaby best to just watch it and see for yourself.
youtube
Noteworthy is the ancient city i neutralize, you might think thats an impressive feat or that its brave. Thing is, im not brave, just fearless. Anyways like i say in the video pretty much all farms that i built are materials for a storage system somehow
Turning point
This is around the time shit hits the fan. I built a medium sized storage system that sorts out literally almost everything in the game. It features a whole bunch of sick storage tech from the storage tech discord, wired up together by myself. Right around this time, not mentioned in the video, i also switched to loading all of my farms into boxes automatically. Thats right, shulker boxes. Almost every farm i have and build load their stuff into boxes by now. This allows me to bring actual metric tons of items around without needing to load and unload everything out of shulker boxes first.
The Hole
The massive hole i made with the funny machine in the video is for a purely decorative build. The plan is to build the entire terrain from bedrock up to custom mountaintops. This is quite the task and overwhelms me constantly so i have barely worked on it.
youtube
The present
This is where the video series ends, but like you can probably tell, theres a whole lot of stuff i do for 1 video. The next video will be on its way, and it will contain 3 farms and some work on the massive building project in the hole.
Tumblr media
If this image overwhelms you, dont worry, me too. The monster of concrete and redstone components on the left is a massive and overpowered dirt farm, that happens to also produce cobblestone, spruce logs, moss and azalea as byproducts. Designed by CUANS_FANG its more insane than i ever need it to be, which is what i strive for now. On the right side, the tower made out of moss, is a bonemeal farm, specifically Chromoss cubes by Hexatron (?). It produces enough bonemeal to keep up with the dirt farm and dumbs its overflow into shulker boxes in the storage.
Tumblr media
The storage of this farm, shown in this image, sorts out every item. Theres a mass crafting station to turn clay balls into clay blocks, a super smelter to turn those clay blocks into terracotta and a small bone meal powered wheat farm directly fed by the bonemeal output.
Clay balls? you might ask, but the dirt farm doesnt produce those?
Tumblr media
Thats where the clay/mud converter comes in. You can stand at the input, get fed dirt directly from the dirt farm output and place it into the converter, which pushes the dirt through the converter, turning it into mud and optionally converting it to clay. The output is send up via a water column to the central storage of the farm.
This took me like a month to put together and build, and ive used like, none of the things i got from it LMAO. But it will be useful in the future im sure (coping).
Tumblr media
And the latest and greatest, the bamboo farm. Its ilmangos hopper minecart flying machine thing with box loader thing. Its uuh, a bit fast. Gives me the new bamboo wood really quickly tho! Dont ask me why this was the first thing i did for the new update, i havent gotten any cherry wood or armor trims LMAO, thats up next tho :).
The future
This is the latest thing that happened to the world. Next up is getting armor trims. Then ill probably be building another tree farm that lets me farm cherry and azalea as well! Will be posting stuff about it here :3

Just listened to wtnv episode 11, in which wheat and its byproducts became a significant threat to piblic safety by transforming into snakes, then evil spirits, before being permanently banished from town.
Cecil thinks they'll never eat bread again. Someone please introduce night vale to rice flour.

the amount of solo fucking around I've had to do in order to appropriately supplement my diet to meet my micronutrient needs since my celiac dx is absolutely wild. magnesium, vitamins d, k, a, and pretty much all the b's, iron, potassium, all on a very specific schedule I adjust based on whatever rotating symptoms I have going on.
it is so easy to get malnourished with celiac disease. and the longer you've gone undiagnosed/unable to maintain a gluten free diet, the worse the potential for malnourishment is, which is its own hell. if you're so so hungry and every part of your brain and body are screaming at you to eat REAL FOOD, it gets very tough to maintain the gf diet! wheat/rye/barley and their byproducts are in fucking everything! and eating gluten damages your cilia! which makes you more malnourished!
this is how I ended up eating barely-cooked beef liver with my fingers over the stove in college - I had been on the poverty + malnourishment grindset, complicated by celiac, for months, and I scared the shit out of my roommates by gobbling what amounted to floppy grayish penny-scented mush at a truly alarming speed while being the gauntest I have ever been. I basically turned into Gollum. the smell of the beef liver (the only meat-type item I could afford) cooking was the best thing I had ever smelled (it smells gross these days, imo, but I'm also not horribly malnourished anymore). i could practically see my health bar refilling over my head with every swallow. possibly the most visceral food experience I've ever had
scurvy has got to have one of the biggest disease/treatment coolness gaps of all time. like yeah too much time at sea will afflict you with a curse where your body starts unraveling and old wounds come back to haunt you like vengeful ghosts. unless☝️you eat a lemon
