Yamamoto sighs and leans back in his seat, one of the big, overstuffed parlor chairs sprinkled throughout the billiards room. He doesn’t even like this game, and neither do his friends like him playing it. Something about near death experiences. But it’s always fun to watch Reborn go at it. See him do ridiculous trick shots like it’s just another gun in his hand. “It’s irritating. I get why you did it but I hate the way people use it. Like Tsuna’s some dead guy come back.”

“Ah,” Reborn says. He turns back to what he’s doing, lining up his shot. The resounding click-crack when he lands his strike, balls rolling, clacking, and some eventually settling into various pockets. “I guess the title’s outlived its usefulness… Which is a shame. I like it a lot. Suits him.”

Yamamoto grunts. “Y’know. You could tell him the real reason you came up with it. At least then he might like it a little better” Well. Like was a strong word doing a lot of heavy lifting there. Tsuna would never like any of his titles, but it’s probably good for him to not actively hate them. “Or at least stop using it for official stuff. And casual stuff. And like. At all.”

“You’re really grumpy today.” Reborn’s half grin widens just a little when Yamamoto glowers at him, displeased. “Little confused what you mean by real reason, though. It’s pretty obvious, isn’t it?”

Yamamoto stares at him. Heaves a sigh. Claps his hands onto his knees and pushes himself up. “Alright, I’m out. You sit with that for a while cuz I don’t think I can do this with you right now.”

“Whoa, hey, hang on now.” Reborn hops down from the stool he’d been using, no longer playing. No longer teasing. “I’m serious. It is obvious, isn’t it? Why I did that.”

“It’s Tsuna,” Yamamoto replies blandly. Reborn considers this.

“Well. Shit.”

“Little guy… In your own way, I think you idolize him more than any of us.”

Neo Vongola Primo. Not the second coming of Vongola Primo, made in new flesh. But the first to lead the new Vongola, one which is separate and different from what came before. One lead by the only man Reborn thinks he could, and has, pledged his utmost loyalty to.

Yamamoto is someone he calls a friend for a reason. So it’s unsurprising that even when Reborn doesn’t say it, even when he’s unaware of it, that guy who he pegged as a natural born killer also manages to hit the bullseye where it counts.

“Might need a strong drink later.”

Yamamoto snorts, shoulders his bag. Reborn never stops feeling proud of how the other man never fails to keep his weapon on him, or at least within easy reach. “If you actually keep your word and talk to him, you better make it two. One for each of you.”

“That bad huh? … Thanks.”

He really does love that blinding smile, the real one which makes Yamamoto’s eyes crinkle at the corners, shows off his dimples. The one that chases that bleakness they both know will always be lurking away. “Any time!”

I don’t think he thought Hero would be this vitriolic about it. Like genuinely, he was like:

Plot twist: Porter has never sucked dick in his life before Jace and it results in Jace getting the worst blowjob he’s ever had. He just doesn’t have the heart to tell Porter it was bad.

Porter knows (Jace was faking it, he could tell. The moans were off) and the try hard in him makes it his mission to give Jace the best head he’s ever had. Which also means every moment they have alone results in Porter dropping to his knees or pulling his truck over, or pulling Jace somewhere private until one day Jace is like ENOUGH and just fucks Porter’s throat while he’s perched on his chest.
