i don't post anything about politics on here, but today i don't care about that boundary. i just want to say this: we can be horrific, so awful to each other and to this planet, but it's never, ever the end of the world. there is always hope somewhere, fluttering. and hope does not exist separate from grief and rage; grief and rage are the fueling fire of hope, and i have it.

today i got my hair cut, and my hairdresser told me, grinning, about her wife-to-be. the other day at an intersection, a man leaned out his car window and said excitedly that he had the same kind of dog as the woman walking her dog in front of me. she stopped, and they chatted for a minute until the light changed. there are two elderly women in my history class who write their notes in cursive, committed to learning even in retirement. my roommates have created a safe-haven of sorts at our house and the adjoining units for their queer friends. this world we have built is ramshackle, broken, and rupturing, but we have to live anyway. we humans are so mule-headed that we scrape our way through everything--we make dinner, we get coffee with friends, we go for walks, we have children, we get married, we look at old photos and say, "remember that?" i am angry. i am sad. but i love everyone regardless. it's not enough--it will never be enough in the scheme of it all--but it's there, beating fervently. and that means something.

no offence but the reason tumblr is “dying” is, well, yes, of course the cursed like/reblog ratio and the change in user behaviour (because of people being used to how instagram and tiktok work) BUT also the lack of weekly shows. i say it with my whole chest, they don't produce captivating and engaging stupid weekly tv shows anymore because streaming killed that so you have spikes of activity here when Something happens in general fandom or up to three days after a new season of whatever drops and then it's a wasteland. this is obviously an old woman yelling at a cloud missing supernatural and the vampire diaries and pretty little liars and all these other shows type of post but honestly give me back weekly tv shows where i have something to watch for 40 minutes almost every day of the week after work so then i can read and reblog it on tumblr give it back for the sake of my sanity

I need them to do a reboot of House but I want them to just go fucking wild with it. Everyone's gay, everyone's fucking. House, Wilson, and Cuddy are in a toxic polycule, one that definitely violates work ethics, that ends when Cuddy cheats on them with Cameron. I want it to be just as homophobic, just as ableist, just as fucked up, as the original and yet have the characters all be so fucking woke. Same episodes with the same plots but modern. I want Chase to have an onlyfans.
