dreams takes on speedrunning are so interesting, specifically being against glitches cause so many speedruns for other games rely explicitly on glitches to get fast times
#what does he think of that one speedrunner who only got their time because the literal planets aligned perfectly to shave off a microsecond#or some shit like that lmao#idk its interesting though hes very much for 'vanilla' speedrunning#though i will say i prefer watching speedruns without all the tech lmaoo#whatever just separate everything into categories#id kill for basic speedrunning streams from dream

here is my objectively correct list of lost light characters playing fear and hunger
rodimus - he makes a massive deal about this really difficult human game. he goes into it fully expecting to breeze through the dungeon. he encounters the dogs at the very beginning of the game, closes it, and then promptly deletes it off his computer. he wails and cries and complains so hard and is such a piss baby gamer about being shit at it.
megatron - he likes the lore. consistently takes his time when playing because he hates le'garde so much and lets him die every single playthrough. enjoys enki greatly. also deeply respects the rng and strategy aspects. rodimus hates him for being too good.
ratchet - i want to put him directly into the game (as a treat <3) but i cannot. he doesn't like it. because he's old and because i don't think he'd appreciate the horrors. but i do think he would find rodimus fucking everything up very amusing. if forced to play he would spec into healing via sylvian and then explode everything with combustion
thunderclash - he is perfect at the game. wins every single coin flip. does not get hit once. godlike rng. rodimus thinks he's cheating but he's not. has 100% the whole game. cried when having to fight the god of fear and hunger (you know his ass got emotionally attached to the girl) and he probably wrote fanfiction about enki and ragnvaldr kissing
whirl - nas'hrah speedrun%. he explodes everything. he takes every single opportunity to cut off his own characters limbs. what is wrong with him?
drift - got emotionally attached to moonless. exclusively play ragnvaldr. he gets really into the worldbuilding and desperately wishes that the eastern sanctuary was more elaborated upon. is literally the only person besides thunderclash who doesn't get mad when he plays. he does seethe and cope sometimes, but it's usually in the privacy of his own room. or he rants to ratchet
cyclonus - he played as d'arce, got to le'garde and then created a marriage between the two per whirl's suggestion. he was so horrified by the resulting abomination that he closed the game and never opened it ever again
that's all for now but i love funger and i love transformers and i figured you'd appreciate this
oh man, Rodimus is me. fuming because 6 minutes into the run he got fucked over by a guard or the dogs or a maneba and needed up limbless in the blood pit. Again. he can never match up to Thunderclash' speedrunner's spirit.
i bet tailgate would also get freaked out if he ended up creating a marriage on accident, but he'd come around to it and constantly bug cyclonus with questions about how if this was possible, would he do it with him? cyclonus says no. whirl says yes.
tbh i would think Megatron would sympathize with le'garde, both of them having a... machiavellian attitude to reaching one's "noble goals". but perhaps relating to the ole' dickhead just makes him angry.
#i would gladly put ratchet into the game. do fucked up shit to him. also throw him in to the bunny masks. for my entertainment.#texty#i have 0 idea how to tag this one

Types of gamers I hc these fools to be (note: this only inclues characters I can remember off the top of my head) (modern au obvs)
Rose- Rose plays games like a crazy person. A speedrunner to her core. She even speedruns games like stardew valley. Her favorite game is probably Ultrakill. Has a streaming channel where she doesnt talk just decimates with ruthless efficiency the whole game while chat gapes silently in awe. Breaks almost every speedrunning reccord she can. Mostly plays horror or fighting games. Gets every achievement.
Belladonna: Belladonna plays games where she can hit things with hammers or solve puzzles. Plays shit like hotline Miami or portal 2. Terrible at multiplayer fighting games. Streamed ddlc once and got the shit scared out of her. Mostly action games and rune factory.
Lily: Chill minecraft streamer. Sometimes does art for a stream, or animal crossing. Sometimes she and Rose will collab on an animal crossing stream and Lily will get increasingly distressed (affectionate) by Rose's un-chill gameplay style. Harvest moon.
Kivan: Lily's co-streamer. Mostly does animal crossing, and also does art streams. Multiplayer stresses him out, but he still mains Bridget in guilty gear. He thinks hes really bad at fighting games. He is not. Plays games like ddlc and such in his free time. Stardew valley.
Madam Spiceberry: Streams cute and nice games. Most people stay for her charming voice and kind words. Mostly minecraft as well. Plays games like Rune Factory (specifically 4) and Harvest Moon, mostly. Bad at fighting games.
Opal: Bad at fighting games bc they get bored of it. Very good at fishing games though, for some reason? They love the game Dredge so much. A huge fan of "chill" horror games. Loves open world games and platformers like Slime Rancher.
Carter: A sweet and kind streamer with a gentle voice & comforting voice who exclusively fighting and horror games. Will be gently talking about her day while running from a murderous rabbit in game. Does a lot of sweet little cooking streams too. Also playing Dredge.
Isbeth- Doesnt know what a computer is
Radiance- Streams completely random games at random times. Her subscribers are deeply confused by her. Gets every achievemen.
The Chronicler: Gets EVERY achievement and skin and collectable and etc. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Loves playing games like Slime Rancher. Is secretly running an arg in the background. Also has a book restoration channel.
OH AND LUX- The type of streamer to own cat ear headphones idk. Also a minecraft streamer. Plays a lot of "meme" horror games. Him and Rose stream together sometimes and its hilarious because its all him talking and her completely carrying him through the game
sorry you said belladonna plays rune factory and i blacked out and hit post-
#asks#in character#ice rose summer#unreality#RUNE FACTORY IS LIKE A BIIIIG BIG SPECIAL INTEREST TO ME#will probably reblog this in a second with actual commentary but that was my first thought.

Post time? how peculiar: Rangers in Another RPG World
Seeing that my mind finally got this idea to work I want to share it. A sentai team iseaki'd into a videogame, specifically some jrpg (maybe). I don't care if the market is overblown I want more tokusatsu-related content, like those two romcoms. Our Team (THE CANNONEERS) is: Red Hero (specialty auras): former streamer and team leader because he is the only one with experience interacting and planning with such different personalities. Knew Yellow Thief before being transported into another world to play leader to these gaggle of gaming idiots. Has no idea how he's doing because other members take up the lead when their specialty shows up. watched Pink Magicians videos in the background and watched some of Blue Mages so chat would stop telling him he sucked. Wish he could stream rpgs without making them podcasts. Blue Mage (specialty manipulations of the elements): A bitch, and build specialist. The desire to know the mechanics of something and how they interact is born from people surrounding her being fake as fuck. Thus why she currently hates the Red Hero. Tries to advise Pink Magician on how to navigate through court politics. Yellow Thief (specialty warp daggers): Speedrunner, and still carries himself as such because it is the only way he can process this entire situation. Thus tries to find the most straightforward plan. The fear of death, adrenaline, and the ZONE is the only thing that makes him move forward. Green Knight(specialty shields): The GAMER, plays games like an absolute idiot but still has a love for them. has no idea what the Pink Magician, Blue Mage, or the Yellow Thief are talking about when they talk about games. Plays them just cuz. He is the one who figured out their base is also a mech, the resident sentai nerd, and the acting captain when the mech is on the field. (also literally me so I can flashbang my weirdness to people other than myself) Pink Magician (specialty illusions): A roleplayer, lore nerd and chunibyo. the face of the cannoneers because she is the only one who can speak medieval nonsense and understand what exactly the nobles are even saying. Slowly has her spirit being destroyed by seeing how bloodthirsty and backstabby they are. Our villain is an alien bug chess gang. Pawns are grunts, rooks knights and bishops being specialty troops, and the king being the tactical leader of the entire organization. The (true) queen is the reason why they are being evil due to being somewhat dead, only being able to provide new troops. Something specal I want to do when the last grunt is about to be defeated they transform into a (false) queen that is influenced by their surroundings. fire, ice, wood, etc. Combined with the specialty troops being in her presence they also get the theming, making a rpg party of evildoers and making the villain of the week. Their base is a flying castle with cannons all over where they can launch out of to enter wherever the Monster Invasion spawned. Their Team bazooka is also a cannon they summon with their combined energies. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thinking Dwarves control the trains and banks and currently it's the elf at the height of their power, humans barely being villages while most are enslaved by the elves.

Random thought about streaming vs videos...
The thing people typically don't understand is that larger streamers really do have an easier time spinning a narrative live; and I think the reason in really simple but also seems really stupid if you point it out; at least to the audience.
So here's the thing, a lot of people tell me streams and such don't have a narrative, but the truth is the really good ones actually do. You notice it looking back, and you'll notice it if you pay attention. Videos and streams are simply a form of entertainment, they're a stage play but the actors in video can do their lines over and over if they need to. Streamers have it a little harder similar to you know, actually doing a stage play live with a proper audience. Pay attention to any Dougdoug stream, or honestly half of what Hololive does and you'll see what I mean. There's a story to it all, there's arcs; there's conflicts that the actor gets to overcome.
Now the thing about those kinds of streamers is that they're so big that they don't even have to read or engage with the chat if they don't want to. They can if they believe it emphasizes their narrative in a positive way, but it's absolutely not required; you can't realistically expect them to read and respond to every comment flying by.
A small streamer however? Well just because only 2 people showed up to the stage play, suddenly they feel it's rude if the actors don't break from their lines to acknowledge what the audience has to say.
Imagine if you will, you go to a theater to watch a play of Dracula, the actors are doing their thing; everything is great. Then some guy in the second row just sorta shouts "HEY WHAT DO YOU THINK OF HOT DOGS?" No one reacts, they shouldn't; not only does that have nothing to do with the play, but the man in the audience isn't part of the cast. He seems upset by this, so he continues to berate the actors on stage "I ASKED WHAT YOU THINK OF HOT DOGS!" Still nothing; the actors are continuing to deliver the narrative for the remaining people in the audience; but this guy is getting increasingly upset. He finally drops the topic of hot dogs to say "YOU KNOW, IF YOU WEREN'T GOING TO ENGAGE WITH THE AUDIENCE JUST MAKE VIDEOS!" Before storming out of the theater.
Now I want you to think about something, imagine you're an actor on stage and this is happening to you; welcome to being a small streamer. You're expected to break character, break narrative; break the tension, the atmosphere, the scene you've crafted for your audience; all to answer an off topic question.
If you don't, they think you should just go make videos... Well, would that be the same?
Let's think about that real quick, I do a lot of gaming challenges, I know people who do Kaizo playthroughs, I follow a ton of speedrunners. So I ask you, would all of us have the same impact on a youtube video that we have on a twitch stream?
If you think the answer is yes it's likely because you're not considering every angle. Not to say you're wrong, but... well, it's not exactly the case. Let me explain it this way...
You're watching me speedrun a game live, I'm coming up on a particularly difficult skip, I've never done it correctly; it would make or break the run. If I make this, I won't only just beat my personal best, I would be on world record pace. Do I achieve the skip?
If you're watching a video titled "HOW I GOT THE WORLD RECORD IN [Game]" You already know the answer, and I have to title it like that for the sake of the algorithm. If you're watching a video and you simply pause it to get up and get a drink you'll see that the video only has 3 minutes left... so obviously I do the skip.
You already know the answer, the video format sort of already spoiled it for you; and the truth is... yea of course I do the skip, do you think this is my first attempt? Of course it's not, a video of me failing over and over again wouldn't get any views. Trust me I know this to be a fact, my streams where I'm learning the games and practicing speedruns pale in comparison to the numbers I pull doing the speedrun properly once I know it well. Which makes sense, no one wants to watch someone fail a jump 700 times in a row just to finally get it on the 701st.
But watching it live? Who knows, approaching the skip you have no idea if I'll be streaming for another hour, another two? Maybe I do this, maybe I don't; no one knows and everyone wants to find out.
Hey hold on though... if I do the skip, how is that any different than when I made it in the video?
Well, because no one was sure it would happen, you couldn't check a video title or the length of the video; there was no noticeably set up narrative that showed me fail the skip earlier in the video and now I've built up this whole thing about how I'd beat my personal best and be on world record pace. Don't mind my run on sentence there, I know.
The truth is, doing a skip like that live feels incredible, both for the streamer and the audience who stuck with them through the whole run. Trust me, again; I know from experience. I have clips of when I managed to pull off lesser feats to applause from the audience because I did it, I pulled off a skip I was struggling with; live in front of everyone.
It's just like being at a stage play, it feels so much more real than a movie; because there's no special effects here, there's no do-overs; the actors have to read their lines perfectly, or make you believe they did. They have to perform their stunts, they have to deliver it all correctly the first time. It feels raw and exciting.
Now let me take a moment to humor some people imagine you go to the theater to watch Dracula; you sit down and the show is going great, then the Hot Dog man shows up.
Suddenly you see the actor playing Dracula stop mid-line and say "oh you know, the hot dogs are alright but I really don't care for this brand..." Suddenly the other people in the audience chip in with their own opinions, another actor pipes up with "how can you NOT like this brand, it's a classic!" You were here to watch Dracula, now you're seeing some random people on stage arguing about their favorite hot dog brands... this isn't fun.
See, the thing is, small or big; it doesn't matter. The streamer is trying to set up a narrative throughout the show, and it's significantly easier to do that in video format; you can reflect on how things happened, work backwards to find the conflict and how you overcame it. Doing it all live is a lot harder; even more so when your audience is off topic; but... what if they weren't?
There IS a happy medium, and it's why I say that big streamers have it easier when it comes to putting on a good show and weaving a narrative. Hear me out...
Take the hot dog guy example, except this time he's not yelling about hot dogs; this time he stands up and points to one of the actors and shouts "HEY! BEHIND YOU!" Now sure, the actor could just ignore him; that's what their lines say to do. However if we're talking about a live stream, there are no pre-set lines; so the actor can turn around to now face his attacker, improving some lines and the actor playing Dracula can now glare towards the audience member who called him out. Suddenly your audience is involved; now they're part of the play too. Where there was a separation of the fiction on the stage and the reality in the stalls; now there is an immersive blend of the two. Your audience feels like they're part of the play, and your actors decide how much of their interaction to take into consideration. It's a happy medium.
But small streamers don't have that option! Even when their audience IS on topic; backseating or outright telling them stuff they were already going to do. It all detracts from the narrative, from the ability of the streamer to surprise and awe the audience.
I don't know why but it feels like there's a certain number of audience members, where they feel like the stream is just small enough that they get to run the show. That they should get to decide what the streamer does, what they talk about; when they do things. Streamers don't get the freedom to really put on a show their way and entertain an audience in their own way until they're a big enough streamer that the audience doesn't mind if their every comment doesn't get read out loud.
Yet a lot of small streamers get told they need to be more original, do their own thing; be unique and all that. It's annoying because we're not allowed to, our audience typically don't want that of us. They want us to pander to the needs of the audience. Which sure, I understand that it's a live stream, but sometimes it's a play; and sometimes it's sitting down with your buds on the couch for some casual Friday night gaming. Every streamer is going to have their own way of going about it. I feel like once people understand that, and we respect the wants of the streamer and let them do what they do; we'll get some really interesting streamers out there that breathe new life into the ecosystem.

I absolutely adore your hc for how Dream got on XD's server, it's fascinating. Dream basically calling the server XD thinks of as amazing useless is comedy gold, I love how offended he is, and how he turns on a dime when Dream managers to get in xD
Who owns the other servers? Can non gods own any? How does a server become dead? You're rotting my brain over here Sif
XD lives for chaos, and what's more chaotic than showing up a god? The whole reason he lost interest in mortals is because they became predictable to him, but c!Dream proved otherwise, and that's what really catches his attention.
As for other servers, technically anyone is able to make a server. However, they take a LOT of time and energy to get up and running, and a fair bit of time to maintain if you want to keep them in good shape. Servers hosting players long term need constant maintenance, and it's not an easy task. Servers that aren't cared for can become dangerous and unstable quickly. As such, most players live on public servers where there are workforces of admins / mods to keep the server running up to spec. There's downsides to living on a public server (having to obey local building codes, often having little personal space unless you're an admin, strict laws on resource gathering, etc), but for most people it's their only option.
Some people who've spent a long time learning how to operate a server are able to open and maintain a private server, usually for themselves and some friends or as a paid job. That's usually the ideal life, since it comes with a lot more freedom, however if something happens to the admin in charge of the server, or they just straight up get bored, someone else has to take over or the server becomes unsafe. Anyone can become an admin with training, but not everyone takes to it easily and it does take a lot of time and energy to learn to do right.
Now, the reason there are dead servers are because the admin was no longer caring for the server and keeping it in good shape for whatever reason. At that point, the server becomes unsafe for players, and people leave.
Old servers can only properly be destroyed one way; killing the ender dragon. Something that's a very dangerous task, and usually requires a lot of prep and equipment. Obviously, an unstable server makes that task nearly impossible, and most people don't want to expend the energy when they could just leave. That being said, old servers can still present a problem because they take up space & problems for people trying to travel between servers. People caught in a server shutting down can also be flung into them which is dangerous.
That's where c!Dream & other speedrunners come in! Speedrunners are people with just enough skill (or who have a friend with enough skill) to stabilize a server for a short a period so they can rush to the end and kill the dragon to shut the server down. It's considered a very dangerous and high skill profession, but it comes with a lot of popularity if you're good at it. Most public servers offer special privileges to speedrunners who help clear up the surrounding area, and a lot of private servers often welcome them.
c!Dream started out as a speedrunner when he was young, and he was great at it, but got bored of doing the same thing over and over again, so he upped the stakes with Manhunt! Unlike other speedrunners who work on request, c!Dream would take requests, but he'd also go out looking for abandoned servers left far away from the usual public server spaces just because he wanted to keep playing games with his friends. Also because it's still a good idea to clean up those servers, even if it doesn't result in the same popularity boost.
That's how he ended up stumbling on XD's server, and a big part of why he decided to stay is because XD was taking care of all the server maintenance. It was basically a free private server where c!Dream and his friends could feel safe and not have to worry about someone keeping up with admin duties. Because XD is a god, they didn't have to worry about stuff like complex redstone machinery or big builds causing issues. XD doesn't even notice the energy used.

Ran Dream SMP Through Danganronpa Simulator Because Boredom
The only thing I did was do 16 participants and 3 survivors. I came up with ultimates because those are fun to make. So here’s what was simulated!
Also nothing graphic if you’re worried about that
Participants
Some of the talents might not work because I don’t know enough but whatever
Ranboo- Ultimate Actor/Ultimate Hope because he would be the protagonist
Dream- Ultimate Speedrunner
George- Ultimate Hunter (There’s probably a better ultimate for him but I couldn’t think of one sorry)
Sapnap- Ultimate Pet Killer
Tommy- Ultimate Tower Builder
Tubbo- Ultimate Beekeeper
Philza- Ultimate Survivalist (the assistant character)
Technoblade- Ultimate Warrior
Wilbur- Ultimate Musician
Niki- Ultimate Baker
Eret- Ultimate King
Fundy- Ultimate Coder
Quackity- Ultimate Lawyer (changed it because an ask showed this made way more sense honestly)
Jschlatt- Ultimate American (the one who messes with the trial even though a lot of people probably do)
Bad- Ultimate Friend (way too nice to have to deal with this crap)
Skeppy- Ultimate Troll
The monokuma like figure would most likely be a wither because those are known for causing huge destruction in the SMP
Takes place in a Minecraft world but none of the SMP events happened.
Minecraft but they’re friends and haven’t killed each other in war
Chapter One
Victims: Fundy and Sapnap
Killer: Niki
JESUS CHRIST NIKI
ITS ONLY CHAPTER ONE THIS IS SOME CHAPTER THREE CRAP
I’ll admit some of the simulated stuff does not make sense
Some of them I can think of a reason for how it would happen
But killing two people in chapter one???
There goes the first member of the Dream Team
Fundy had the worst luck in a story, as usual
Poor Fundy
Chapter Two
Victim: Skeppy
Killer: Dream
Aka the Bad says fuck chapter
Also that one chapter where one character goes through the wringer
The ship sinking chapter
Poor Bad :(
Also we have removed the team and Dream from the Dream Team
It is now just George
Poor George too now that I think about it
This is Chapter Two and that’s always sad
Let’s face it Dreams execution would 100 percent be a manhunt that goes really wrong
Chapter 3
Victim: Jschlatt
Killer: Technoblade
FIRST SBI DOWN
Who would have thought the guy who goes by Blood God would kill somebody?
I am shocked
I do have a vague idea for this one
In that Jschlatt tried to kill Philza and Technoblade just happened to catch him
Him and the voices freaked out next thing you know Philza and Techno are stuck with a dead body
Philza was going to take the fall for it without telling Techno and tries to at the trial
Philza is weirdly unhelpful during the trial
But the truth does ultimately come out in what would be a very sad scene
Except Quackity who’s just mad at him
SBI angst ahoy
Wilbur is extra sad because he was also friends with Schlatt
Chapter 4
Victim: Tommy
Killer: Eret
Tubbo angst time yay!
We are now getting to where we start killing people who can bring optimism to the group
You know like Ibuki
SBI is down to two :(
Wilbur might put on a trench coat at this point
The most angsty way would be if Eret was trying to kill Tubbo because Tubbo was offered the motive of killing somebody in order to get him and one extra person out
As long as he didn’t get caught
So Tubbo sets up a trap but Eret finds out beforehand and goes to confront him
Tommy happens to see him going there and asks Eret what the fuck is he thinking about doing
Eret tells him what he thinks Tubbo is planning to do and Tommy obviously thinks it’s bullshit
He knows Tubbo would surely not
They start fighting and you know the rest
So the trial is basically working out two separate murder plans with Tubbo not even realizing Eret had been trying to off him
Tubbo feels extremely guilty and Wilbur would probably pretty pissed off at him
Philza is trying to make sure Wilbur stays alive and doesn’t go all crazy on everybody
Ranboo is trying to keep everyone optimistic with the help of Quackity and Bad
But this would be the groups lowest point in morale
In between chapter 4 and 5 you can’t do a Wilbur or Tubbo freetime
Chapter 5
Victim: Philza
Killer: George
Alright now the groups morale is in shambles
We’ve got one SBI and no more Dream Team
This feels like it would be a Gundham and Nekomaru situation
Due to whatever circumstances the two agreed to sacrifice themselves for the group
Their sacrifice does help raise morale after the trial
A little bit at least
Except for Wilbur who would probably be going through quite the rough mental patch at this point
As in how he was when he blew up L’Manberg
Quackity takes on the role of the assistant character after this
Chapter 6
Victim: Bad
Killer: Wilbur
Bad does the thing you should never do in the previous chapters
Get character development
He’s totally the one who went through an arc and it was done but you know there’s still a chapter left
Wilbur goes full on JD style crazy with a trenchcoat
There goes SBI
Tubbo can carry on the spirit of it
Survivors
Ranboo
Tubbo
Quackity
3/4 of the Buther Gang survived yay!
Idk who the mastermind and what the big twist would be
Best one would be Dr2 style where it’s a simulation so everyone’s alive
I’m just surprised most of the killings could actually be made to work
Would do executions but I don’t feel like it
Might add them later might not who knows
#dream smp#tommyinnit#technoblade#wilbur soot#philza#dreamwastaken#sapnap#ranboo#georgenotfound#niki mcyt#eret#fundy#quackity#jschlatt#badboyhalo#skeppy#danganronpa

This is a post on the cheating accusations around dream mostly surrounding his response video.
If you don’t want to see this or any of these posts then blacklist the tag #discourse
SO I’ve been doing a lot of digging into what dream has said in his response to Geosquare’s original video and report, which was compiled and conducted by the Minecraft Java mods on speedrun.com.
I won’t talk about that original report in detail, but basically: the mods came to the conclusion that Dream had a 1 in 7.5 trillion chance of getting the pearl bartering rates and the blaze drop odds that he did within the 6 streams he did. As in, someone would need that luck to replicate what dream got. Therefore, he cheated.
I’m going to put this into a sort of ‘point form’ in according to topic, attempting to put it in chronological order.
Dream’s Initial Tweets
Ok so first like. these are bad. these tweets are what he said (on twitter, excluding in the speedrunning discord) directly after the video was Uploaded to Geo’s channel.
worth noting he did apologize later, although i wanted to talk about these two instances so i felt the need to include it.
there’s a lot of interesting wording in the apology tweet itself too. I personally find that when he apologizes he tends to still be very subtextually angry in them with the tone, but more specifically. where he says ‘although i have reason to be upset’, that’s kinda weak and really unneeded. Alongside the ‘intense criticism’, it reads as him trying to say he’s still in the right. kind of like “im sorry i was rude even though I had reason to be rude’. Its an apology sure but he’s not saying sorry for how he really reacted; its justified to him.
Dream’s Response Video
Dream posted a response on his side channel DreamXD on the 22nd, along with the report he had a supposed astrophysicist conduct. I’m going to talk about the report separately from the video for reasons I’ll explain.
Frankly, the video doesn’t really summarize or explain the report in a meaningful way. At most, it takes some points from it but tends to twist the numbers around, misunderstand the probability and math, and also what the report itself concludes.
Essentially, dream’s video insists that the numbers found by the mods are wrong and therefore he didn’t cheat at all, yet the report concludes that the numbers found by the mods weren’t entirely accurate, however they’re still extremely unlikely. This is also all under the assumption that the report is entirely correct (ill say how its not next)
His first point is that only his 1.16 run (that was at 5th place two months ago, would have now been 16th) was deemed cheated. This is true; the mods have said that he isnt banned outright and theres no reason to question the legitimacy of his 1.15 runs.
He also concludes that Geo’s statement that Dream didn’t cooperate with them, and that he deleted 1.16 mod folders, was false. This one is a little more complicated. It could more be chalked up to a miscommunication, although it’s relevant. Geosquare posted screenshots of the specific conversation they had:
Essentially it wasn’t entirely clear, i can understand how geo and the mods interpreted it in such a way. Altho April added in a quote retweet thread that dream didn’t supply the folder she asked for, so he didn’t supply everything they asked for like he states in the video
Essentially: yeah, misleading and weird on both ends. I dont think this is really anything quantifiable, although dream talked about this in the video heavily.
Out of this though, Geo DID correct himself in the description of the mods’ video. Dream shows this in his own response, but it crops out some of what geo says. here’s from dream’s video
that Update 2 is where he corrects himself. literally why the fuck would you crop it like this and put it in the video i mean this looks so weird and genuinely doesnt provide anything. Here’s what geo actually said
Dream specifically cut it before the line where geo mentions how he said he deleted his specific 1.16 speedrun profile. This one is just so dumb to me. I’d say ‘why not include that’ but either i feel its a) so there’s no potential for people to say what he had actually said could be interpreted otherwise easily or b) doesnt want people to know he got so upset he deleted files (ego wise yknow). Again, I dont think this is definitive of anything but god. it feels scummy lmao
The Video: Incorrect Representation of His Own Report
Dream straight up doesnt present the report’s numbers properly. In fact it makes the entirety of his visuals forfeit, i.e. the gold block analogy that goes on for like 20 minutes.
The mods said his luck was 1/7.5 trillion. Dream’s report says its 1/10 million (with the addition of 5 other streams) or 1/100 million (only the 6 streams).
I’ll only consider the 1/10 mil odds, since its all dream really brings up. but Basically; there’s not much difference between 1/10 million and 1/7.5 trillion.
Dream says that the difference is 7.5 trillion minus 10 million, aka 7.4999 trillion. This is what his entire visual with the gold blocks is based on. This is absolutely incorrect, i cant stress that enough.
You can’t find the difference of fractions by subtracting only the denominators. Like. this is elementary school math. it just doesnt work.
It’d actually be calculated as: (1/10 000 000) - (1/7 500 000 000 000) = (74999/7 500 000 000 000)
If the mods are wrong, they’re only wrong by 749999/7.5 trillion. that’s literally only 0.000000099999866666667.
Dream no doubt saw the numbers, considered 10 million vs. 7.5 trillion, and used these big numbers to hold his own point. PROBABILITY DOESNT WORK LIKE THAT. I really think he was just taking advantage of the seemingly big numbers here and wrote it out in a way that favoured him. The gold block analogy in the video played throughout the entire video practically, jokes were made on it, and he made a point of it being ‘so big the game crashed’.
It’s just plain wrong. even so a difference in the odds doesnt prove shit. He’s downplaying his own odds that he found too. 1/10 million isnt a small number. Even though the legitimacy of that calculation is in question, it is still significant enough to proclaim he cheated.
Some quick points before I move onto the report; these aren’t as significant in my eyes but it adds to the picture
there’s been criticism of his joking manor throughout the entire video, very specifically the Bill Nye joke. Considering he doesnt actually have a name to provide for his astrophysicist, this joke doesnt feel right
the mod he had a voice clip from (willz) even believes that he cheated and has agreed with the mod team the whole time.
Dream never has a name for the mod who is apparently on his side (more understandable), the minecraft developer he quoted, or the astrophysicist (most damning)
Dream states that fabric is used by most speedrunners which is true, but fabric and fabric API are different; dream also had the latter installed. my knowledge of how theyre different is limited, all i really know is the API is what can enable editing of the code while fabric is more a modloader. im not entirely sure on this
Dream has said at the end of the video that all funds will go to the mod team so they can make a client that will regulate cheaters. this has been noted as feeling manipulative or like a ‘bribe’, but it definitely puts the mods in a bad position.
either they accept it and look like they ‘gave in’ to dream and therefore acknowledge him in the right
they deny it and look selfish/taking dream’s kindness for granted
geo said they would insist it goes to a charity instead
Dream constantly disregards the mods as young, inexperienced, ‘just volunteers’ etcetcetc, despite the fact that theyre analysis has been discussed by people with confirmed PhDs without much criticism
Dream’s Report
The report itself is extremely interesting, in that it’s very questionable, but even so it doesn’t come to the conclusion that dream didn’t cheat. The tone between the video and the report is drastically different.
This is from the “3. What are the goals of this document?” section:
It essentially says this isnt intended, from the very beginning, to completely exonerate dream of cheating. Also note that the author says the mods’ report was mostly correct.
This is at the end of “9 Conclussions”:
It does notably say cheating isnt the only explanation, but it doesnt actually go as far to say that it’s not possible that he cheated.
But this can be argued to not matter if we consider the validity of the report as a whole
Dream’s Report: Criticisms
Possibly the first and most known debunking of the report is by u/mfb on reddit, although there’s been much more such as this programmer criticizing the code provided at the end of the report (partially due to how the author of it stated that piglins barter 4-7 pearls, which is incorrect: it’s 4-8), Andrew Gelman, an actual statistician professor from harvard, commented on the original mods’ report as ‘impressive’ while Dream’s report is being regarded as something funny in the comments, and even analysis of dream’s behaviours and his argument by a law student
But what u/mfb posted is what i’ll focus on. Some background into the user; he’s a particle physicist, is moderator in subreddits like r/cosmology and r/astrophysics, he’s regarded as a reliable source on r/askscience and r/askreddit. Basically, multiple other people have vouched for him and before all this he had many posts in these fields.
that’s already better than the unnamed astrophysicist.
The post is better speaking for itself but here is a few exerpts from it;
Essentially, the report’s methods are debunked by u/mfb-, alongside that a moderator of r/statistics regarded the report as ‘nonsensical in its application of statistics’ and linked to u/mfb-’s comment.
i’m going to end this here. Partially because severe backpain or whatever,.
but I want to say at this point its practically definitive that dream cheated, that he lied to us, and that he continues to do so. Much more could be said on his video such as his tone, intentions, the overt emphasis on the ‘biases’ of the mods.
I havent even mentioned that the ‘astrophysicist’ themself may be a scam; they are sourced from a website that is extremely sketchy, has no names attached to it, and was created less than a year ago (with practically no traffic on it until maybe a month ago).
But i hope this is coherent. I have interest in this so if theres questions im always open.

Minecraft AU or whatever
(Sorry long post ahead) Nobody can stop me from combining my two biggest interests so here’s headcanons for if all the Nekoma boys played minecraft
Inuoka is obsessed with bees, collects every flower he sees and brings them back to the hive that's always by his house. Legitimately super good at building, his base is always the biggest and the grandest. His storage is always a mess though, he just puts all his chests in a shed and makes new ones when he needs them, there's no system. Gets really sad whenever he kills an Enderman, has a small garden filled with nothing but grass blocks that they've dropped
Lev prefers Creative Mode and refuses to play Survival without cheats and Keep Inventory. He has a sign outside his house that says "It's not a dirt house, it's a dirt home." Tames every horse he sees even if he doesn't have a saddle, is very invested in creating the most efficient cow crusher. He listens to all the music discs religiously, Cat and Blocks are tied for his favorite. Found diamonds once and got so excited that he accidentally jumped into a lava pit almost immediately after. Absolutely terrified of silverfish and is unironically trying to learn the enchantment table language
Teshiro owns the most cats anyone's ever seen in one place, but he just keeps breeding them. Only just started playing recently but is insanely good at parkour. Watches mcyts and drops everything to go mining when he finds a good cave. Doesn't fear anything, shoots at Ghasts from really far away just for fun
Shibayama is a true Minecraft vet, has probably played for longer than everybody except maybe Kenma. His skin is a character that he made in like 2011 and refuses to change it. He knows every song and all their names, not just the music discs but the songs that play in the background. He turns the volume way up when Sweden or Wet Hands comes on and is always inevitably scared half to death by the cave ambience noises. Really good at PVP but freezes up when he has to fight a creeper
Kuroo is not "good" at the game by any means, he played it all the time with Kenma when he was introduced to it but somehow hasn’t picked up any of the skills. He likes to watch other people play it and has never beaten it without somebody else (probably Kenma) doing most of the work. He has a crazy amount of dogs for someone who runs away from Skeletons. But the nerd is a part of the endangered population of potion masters, he knows like every recipe and has the "A Furious Cocktail" achievement (even though he's terrified specifically of the Elder Guardian)
Kai has only beaten the game by himself once and he sat through the entire "end credits." Dedicates himself to increasingly impressive farm/garden designs but doesn't bother with huge houses. Chronically addicted to campfires and lanterns, the people he plays with have to hide their torches. He's also really good at redstone and his contraptions confuse and amaze me. He is always willing to share his supplies (unless he doesn’t have enough for himself, then he’ll challenge the person to fair duel for them) and he always partners up with/spares people doing the crouching thing in PVP. Really likes Iron Golems and builds one for any village he finds that doesn’t have one
Yaku makes his career in failed speedruns and surprisingly good build designs. The huge amount of achievements he has is suspect at best (Kuroo is half convinced he paid Kenma to get half of them for him). He is the unofficial defender of Drowneds, Strays and Husks and has a deep respect for Baby Zombies. He blows up his friends' houses for fun (Lev is his main target) but will start a war if anybody else does it to them. Cried when the Moobloom didn’t win the 2020 Mob Vote
Kenma doesn't even need an explanation, we all know that he's been playing since Java Edition and definitely has more merch than he knows what to do with (I like to think he has at least three creeper onesies). He would be one of the best speedrunners out there if he didn't despise the Nether. He has his own Manhunts and his rages are the worst for this game, he's probably broken a few controllers because he fell in lava. Once beat the Ender Dragon with a diamond hoe
Yamamoto wouldn't even be playing the game if it weren't for his mcyt phase in like 2014 (he would have been crazy for PopularMMOs, prove me wrong), probably used to pretend that he didn't so that he could look "cool." Participates in the said Manhunts for the sole purpose of beating Kenma (and he probably has at least once). Went insane when the Nether Update came out, has since been trying to live there permanently. Jumps off buildings and down ravines even though he can't do the water bucket trick and is convinced that he can shoot an Enderman if he tries hard enough
Fukunaga is an unprofessional chicken farmer. Has the skills to beat Kenma in a 1v1 but prefers to spend his time collecting every dye in the game for his sheep army. Shockingly good with a bow and arrow but doesn't understand how to use crossbows. Doesn't scare very easily but he likes to go in places where people can't see him and shoots them once before leaving. He's not very good at building but he's dedicated to The Craft so he watches tutorials to make his farms look nice. Could kill the Ender Dragon at a moment's notice but he refuses to out of respect
Thank you for your time

BORN TO RISE chapter 1 (prologue and first chapter can also be found HERE.)
----------------------------
This is definitely not his bed anymore. For one, the ground is a lot harder than a mattress, for two, the air circulating isn’t electrical. Tommy’s staring up at the sky, blinking in confusion. Come to think of it, he doesn’t even remember going to bed last night. He’d been spending time with Wilbur and Phil, with Phil giving him strange looks the whole time.
Did Phil have anything to do with this?
Tommy pushes that thought out of his mind. He knows Phil is as protective of him as he is of Techno and Wilbur, so it wouldn’t make sense for Phil to kidnap Tommy and drag him to the middle of a forest.
Tommy rubs his face as he sits up slowly, grimacing at the wave of dizziness that washes over him. He’s not okay, but he’s not panicking. Yet. It’s more important for him to gather his bearings and find out where he is first before he latches onto that panic.
The problem is, after rummaging through his pockets, Tommy realizes that he’s empty-handed. He’s left with nothing but the clothes on his back, and...a glance to the ground tells him a headset. Why there is a headset laying on the ground next to him is beyond him, but if that’s something that’ll help him, he’ll take it.
For the moment, Tommy ignores the device as he looks around. He’s surrounded by what looks like birch trees, and in the distance, what looks like an open field. He has no idea what any of this is supposed to mean, other than he’s alone and has no way to contact anyone in the outside world.
Bending down to grab the headset, Tommy leans against the nearest tree, trying to fight the urge to scream. He has to wonder what Phil is thinking, feeling, or anything else. Is Phil worried? Does he know where his kids are? Does he even care?
Stop that, of course he cares.
Tommy pushes away from the tree, sucking in a deep breath. He can’t afford to let emotions take over right now. There’s no way he’s alone; someone wouldn’t just kidnap him and drop him off in the middle of the wilderness without sticking close by to watch over him. The headset says as much, too.
He turns the device over in his hands, frowning. It’s an ordinary, black headset that fits over his ears. There’s a mic attached to it, presumably for speaking to whomever may be listening on the other side.
That still doesn’t answer the question of who might be on the other side. Tommy’s almost afraid to put it on, but curiosity is also starting to win out over the fear. He’s Tommy, he has no reason to be afraid!
The headset is slipped on, and Tommy’s gaze glances over the scenery. There’s nothing but silence, and he wonders if he missed a switch to turn the headset on.
“Hello?”
Tommy nearly jumps at the sound of the voice coming through. It’s nice to know he doesn’t have to flip a switch, but…
“Tommy? You’re awake, how’re you feeling?”
“Who is this?” Tommy asks. He instinctively scrunches up his face in irritation, as if that can mask the annoyance leaking through his voice. “Where even am I, what’s going on?”
“That’s not important right now Tommy.” The voice is far too gentle for this kind of situation, and Tommy wishes he had a weapon on him. He’d love nothing more than to smack the mysterious person in the face. “What’s important is that this is a speedrun. You’re being hunted, and I won’t say by who. Just take the rules of speedrunning and apply them to this situation.”
“Wait, wait wait wait.” Tommy brushes a stray hair out of his face as he approaches the second nearest tree, staring at the bark. “This is speedrunning? What the fuck, you can’t just drop me into the middle of a speedrun and expect me to know what’s going on!”
“Your training begins now, Tommy.”
“Hold on, don’t leave me!” His voice rises in pitch as he finally starts letting the panic set in. Frantically, he punches at the tree, trying to strip any wood he can grab with his bare hands. This is difficult when he has no idea where to even begin. “No one told me I was doing a speed run! No one told me I was being hunted! What the fuck is this, an episode of Manhunters versus Speedrunner?”
“That’s exactly what this is.” The voice on the other side chuckles. It’s not a vicious one, but a more good-natured sort of laugh. It’s enough to give Tommy pause. “Don’t worry, nothing serious is going to happen to you. We just know you’re going to make it. That’s why we picked you.”
“Wait.” Tommy resumes picking at the tree until he’s got a sturdy enough base to start crafting some basic wood tools. He’s starting to recognize the voice on the other end. “Wait, I know who you are.” “Uh, are you sure about that?” The voice chuckles again. “You might still be disoriented. You did just wake up.”
“Sapnap, is that you?” Once those words are out of his mouth, Tommy feels a wave of relief. It has to be Sapnap; there’s no way he’d let anything happen to Tommy. That also brings to mind the thought that if Sapnap is talking to him, then the others on his team may not be too far off either.
Tommy isn’t currently focused on that.
“Yeah, it’s me. You never answered me earlier, by the way. How’re you feeling?” He’s trying so hard to sound gentle, soothing, and very much like a friend. Tommy should feel that relief still, he should feel safe, but instead, the question has the opposite effect of what Sapnap intended.
“How the fuck do you think I’m feeling?” Tommy snaps. “I’m in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but this stupid ugly headset, and I have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing or where I’m even going! You know what this is, Sap? This is bullying. You are a bully and you are ugly.”
“Whoa, Tommy, chill, it’s okay.” Sapnap sounds defensive, and Tommy partially feels bad. It may not be Sapnap’s fault he’s in this situation. Then again, Sapnap is the one talking to him over the headset right now. Of course Tommy’s going to be pissed. “Tommy, I promise it’s all going to be okay. You just need to stay calm. We won’t-”
“No, I take that back. You are a pussy. You know what you are, Sapnap? You’re weird. You and your entire team of bandits are weird and...this is off-putting. This is bizarre, and insane! I am sixteen, have you considered that, Sapnap? Have you considered that before dragging me out of my home and dropping me off in the middle of this…where even am I?”
Sapnap sighs heavily. It’s a sound that grates Tommy’s ears, but he fights back the urge to chuck the headset up into the leaves. It’s his only connection to the world around him, and as strange as this entire situation is right now, Tommy’s not willing to let go of that; he doesn’t want to face the reality that he’s actually alone.
“It’s a training ground,” Sapnap says, sounding resigned. “You know how we have access to high-class technology, build specifically for our team and for tournaments and championships, in order for us to perfect our skills.”
“You sound like some sort of drone,” Tommy mutters. “I’m not interested in some stupid ad here, I want to go home. I bet you’re homeless. Where do you even live?”
“This isn’t about me right now,” Sapnap protests. “I’m trying to help you. Do you know how to speed run?”
Tommy splutters in surprise, spinning around as if trying to find a hidden camera. Surely there must be some nearby. There’s no way they’re not watching him. “What kind of question even is that? Are you stupid or something? Do you even realize who you’re talking to? I’m Tommyinnit, big man. I helped my team in the last championship. I’m a winner. I even beat you!”
“Of course you are, Tommy. This is why you’re here, because we know you’re a winner.” Sapnap’s back to sounding gentle, soothing. Reassuring. Tommy feels something well up in his gut, a sort of sick feeling. He clings onto that feeling as he lifts up the wooden axe and pickaxe he’d just finished making, leaving the crafting table behind. He gathers some more wood, focusing more on the sound of Sapnap’s breathing. It’s keeping him from screaming in fear, but it’s not keeping his spiraling thoughts at bay.
Something isn’t right.
Why is Sapnap talking to him alone?
There’s more going on than he initially realized. He plays the entire conversation back in his mind, going over every word he can remember, every inflection, but...
“Hey, Sapnap, can I ask you something?” Tommy’s voice comes out a little colder than he intends for it to. His hands are shaking as he clutches the wood in his hands, trying his best to strip the bark and pile the pieces as he gathers leaves, using those and bits of twig to make a shoddy backpack.
“Sure, you can ask anything, Tommy. That’s why I’m here.”
“Why is it just you talking to me? Where’s the rest of your team?” Tommy tests the durability of his makeshift sack, before piling the wood pieces inside and slinging it over his shoulder. He’d rather have an actual bag, but if he can find a cow, he'll be able to have leather to have something more solid. For now, leaves and twigs seem to be holding together nicely enough. He moves on, trying to spot any water source or exposed stone.
There’s a long pause before Sapnap answers. “They’re around here somewhere.” Sapnap’s voice is far too light for such an important question. Tommy isn’t sure he buys it. He doesn’t stop moving though, because now he’s looking over his shoulder.
If Sapnap is hedging on this question, then there’s definitely more he’s hiding. Tommy doesn’t like it, he feels he has a right to know more about this situation than Sapnap is giving him. If he’s been placed here, it has to be for a reason, and Tommy wants more to go off of than ‘it’s a speed run.’
“Fuck this speed run,” Tommy grumbles. There’s a bit of mountain side not too far from his location, maybe he could head there and try mining stone out. It’d do him a lot better to have something more solid than wood. Wood is valuable, but there’s only so much Tommy can do with it. He’d rather have stone to better defend himself. Or even better, iron.
“What was that, Tommy? I didn’t quite hear you.”
“Do you need to clean your ears out?” Tommy bites. “Do you need to have a bit of a wash? Because I don’t know how to be any clearer. I said 'fuck this speed run', and fuck you. I’m Tommyinnit, I don’t need this, not from you, not from anyone!”
“You need to calm down,” Sapnap says. He’s once again trying to pull away from the argument and sounding reassuring, but Tommy’s coming to hate that tone of voice. “You’re going to be okay, we’re-”
“See, there you go, using ‘we’ again. I know you’re not sitting in this forest or mountainside with me, which means you’re not alone!”
“I never said I was alone. I did say the others are around.”
“Sapnap, I need you to understand something.” Tommy chips away at the stone, setting the pieces in a small pile to the right of him. “I need you to listen to me. Are you listening?”
“Yes, Tommy.” There’s a lilt in Sapnap’s voice. “I’m listening.”
“Shut up, I didn’t give you permission to speak. I reckon I could fight you. You’re a big pussy, can’t even face me like a man. Here I am, sat chipping at stone. I’m mining, Sap. Do you see this? I’m mining, and you’re sat in...where are you?”
“I’m around.”
“Is Dream with you?”
“....Dream’s around too.”
“Fuck you, you’re old.” Tommy lets out a snort. He’s still angry, but this banter is easier to deal with than exploding in frustration. At least he’s getting somewhere; he could probably use this tiny section of ground as a temporary shelter. “Where is Dream anyway? I don’t want to hear ‘around’ because I don’t believe you. You are a liar and a cheat, and I could beat you to death with this pickaxe.”
“You’d have to find me first,” Sapnap retorts playfully. Tommy really does wish he could beat him. “You should watch your own back more, you are being hunted after all.”
“Oh yeah? By who? And how do I know Dream isn’t already watching me?” The next chip at stone reveals bits of coal, which helps lift his mood some. He gathers the coal in a separate pile, even taking a moment to set twigs down by the coal. He continues mining, hoping to gather more coal and stone. If he can make torches, he’ll be set by nightfall.
“Wait, what? What does Dream have to do with you being hunted?”
“He’s watching me, isn’t he? There are hidden cameras around this entire area, and you’re watching me and Dream’s watching me. Don’t lie to me Sapnap, I’ve heard enough of your bullshit in the past hour alone.”
“Tommy, you just have to trust-”
“Liar! Sapnap is a liar! I’m not moving from this spot until you’re honest with me.” Tommy makes good on his word and plants down, sitting cross-legged. He sets his pickaxe down in front of him and stares straight ahead. “I’ll even take off the headset, Sap. So then you won’t get to talk to me at all.”
“Tommy, you’re in an active training zone, you need to focus, please.”
“No, I don’t want to. See, I’m tired. I think I’ll have a nap.” Tommy makes a show of leaning against the wall and closing his eyes. He even fakes a yawn for good measure. It’s working, he can hear Sapnap’s frustrated noises on the other side. Tommy can even hear the sound of rustling papers and thumping, which tells him Sapnap definitely isn’t in the forest, but probably some type of office.
“Okay, fine.” There’s more thudding noises, and Tommy lets himself believe it’s Sapnap facepalming. It's funnier to imagine. “You’re right, Dream is watching. I can’t tell you if he’s here or there, but he’s definitely watching, and most certainly hearing this conversation. Can you please get up and get back to work?”
“See? Telling the truth isn’t so hard.” Tommy makes another big show, this time of getting to his feet, gathering up his belongings again, and heading away from the wall. This time, he’s picking a random direction, not entirely sure where he’s going. “I also don’t want to talk to you anymore. Can I turn this off?”
“No, unfortunately you’re stuck with me.” Sapnap sounds tired, or done. Tommy can’t tell what inflection means what yet, but he’s not focused on that right now. He’s aimlessly wandering for the moment, but now he’s paranoid.
If Dream is watching, it means Tommy has to try extra hard to prove himself. He’s always looked up to Dream, always wanted to impress him. But there’s that same, twisted and sick sort of feeling in his gut, leaving him feeling emptier than before.
“Sapnap, if I’m stuck talking to you, I just want you to know that I’m the big man in charge,” Tommy says. He’s trying to play it off, to sound cool. It’s all he knows how to do. He’s not ready for this, he’s not ready to do something when he has no clue how to begin in the first place.
“Tommy, I don’t...you’re not...I mean. Whatever. If you say so.”
“See? I’m the big man in charge, and you’re just a moron. I am going to be as annoying as possible from now on, and we’ll be best friends.”
There’s a desert not too far away from where he’s standing. Tommy heads off in that direction, deciding to try and push the negative thoughts out of his mind. Maybe if he’s annoying, one of two things will happen.
One, they’ll get tired of him and call this off early. He half hopes for that, as it means he’ll get to go home. The downside is that he’ll lose his chance to impress Dream, and that thought fills him with a separate level of anxiety.
Or two, he’ll eventually win the entire team over. Option two is far more preferable, and with that, Tommy can’t lose. So, being annoying is the only choice.
Tommy straightens his back. Regardless, he’s in for one hell of an adventure now, he’d better get busy.

I’ll get to those Magic Crafter Dragons I sweeeear But first, fun stuff from Discord. Dunno who made the original, it was just posted on a server, but yeet I did it anyway First of all, I don’t play a lot of games. I like games and the idea of them. I enjoy people playing stuff, I love watching others play. It’s that little sibling culture. But lemme toss a word or few about all of these. Though first of all, I only own 4 of the 8 games listed and even still I’ve only played 3 of them xD R.I.P. Pokemon Cafe Mix - The game is just Super Cute. Like oh my god Aesthetics! Adorable, every pokemon looks so nice and I just want to go to the cafe and taste everything and just chill. Please. It looks so cozy and relaxing. Gameplay is fairly simple too. Sometimes things seem a bit BS but in one way or another I’ll get through every stage etc. so it’s not too bad. Most of the time relaxing, can be addicting because of how simple things are. But really I love the game and I hope one day they’ll add more of the pokemon I like xD Buizel is my current favourite <3 It’d be nice seeing Mienshao or Mienfoo for one, maybe Glameow as it doesn’t get a lot of attention. We got Gogoat, but I wouldn’t mind a Sawsbuck or Deerling Pokemon Black 2 - To keep the Pokemon trend going, this is my fave out of the mainline games. I’ve been a fan ever since the first generation, I’m older than Gen 1 at that. But yeah, we did buy games but Nintendo stuff was too expensive and so I never really got to play those growing up. Black 2 was the first game I ever bought, for myself, with my own money. It was my first game and I loved it dearly. Still do and man I’d Love to replay it, but the curse of only 1 save file is cruel. I don’t want to restart my first ever save file. Currently I have no way of transferring anything over and I even have a Shiny Gothorita there (as underwhelming as it is, it was my first ever shiny). I love these games~~ Lots of different pokemon to choose from, great story, the fact that it’s a sequel is so freaking cool and unique I Love It So Much. Of course it’d be cool to have some extra things to do in it, like cleaning my badges, contests would be cool, I loved the mining stuff in Gen 4 when I got to try it on my friend’s Platinum save file as a kid. Speaking of, Gen 4 games would probably be my favourites, if I ever had the chance of owning and playing any fully. They have soooo much to do in them! Gen 5 is good and certainly up there in faves, but bruh, Gen 4 had all sorts of extra stuff, especially Platinum, and in HG/SS you had Pokemon following you like bruh that’s Crazy and I’d love to have that for a game I own, it’s like a dream Honorable mentions to Mystery Dungeon and Gen 6′s Pokemon Y for some grand memories. Firstly Pokemon Y, the second game I ever owned I think, great fun. I played that game for hooooooooours and it’s the only Pokemon Game that I’ve both played as a Nuzlocke and actually reset to play again. Also the first gen where I actually really got into competitive stuff, breeding for natures and stuff, and I’ve caught so many shinies in Y and Omega Ruby (mostly Y, OR has 1 shiny in Pidove, while Y has Ninetales, Pachirisu, Burmy, Gligar, and perhaps some other ones I caught/hatched myself). Mystery Dungeon games get a mention for having cool stories and I like the idea of the personality test and stuff. I’ve never played or owned any of these games, but I’ve watched Marriland play a handful of the games and currently am enjoying MDB playing through the first games in the series. Also a quick bloop on Colosseum being Cool as heck, and Battle Revolution gets a shoutout for looking so freaking good, having amazing music and making me search up videos with my favourite pokemon and just looking and watching hundreds of videos just because they looked so nice
Fire Emblem has to be the 2nd series of games I’ve gotten the most into. Although I’m a fairly new fan and my experiences and knowledge are limited, I do still enjoy the series and games - both old and new - a bunch. I only own Awakening, Conquest and 3 Houses, but I’ve again watched others play the past games a bunch, so I have some knowledge and memorable moments from those games too. Now I haven’t actually gotten myself to play 3 Houses yet, I’ve seen playthroughs of the game already and know the story etc. But yeh. Still, I’d say that I’ll probably like 3 Houses more than Awakening and Conquest. Awakening is nostalgia galore for me, but it does have its things with the story and characters and stuff. It’s nice, but I dunno, I just feel 3 Houses has an edge on it in some way. Maybe it’s just... Less controversial? Less Flame Wars? Maybe? Fates games, well, we all know the big glaring thing here. The story. And some of the characters suffer from this too. I kinda do wish that the Player had a biiiit more control in how the story went and played out, like I feel you definitely could have saved Scarlet in some way still, and all that. But eh, there’s enough stuff for me to go and prefer 3 Houses over it. And yes, I like choosing the members of my team and playing however I like, so giving me the ability to class my characters however I want is going to be a mistake as I’ll just make everyone a mounted unit and get destroyed but hey! Options :2 Variety :22 Great tiiiiimes~ Also it’s Blue Lions for me, Golden Deer Second Now for the games I don’t own. I chose Radiant Dawn because the Tellius games are just so good. I love the character in them, the story is pretty solid and the worldbuilding is cool too :2 I like both of the games, and while Path of Radiance is more coherent and doesn’t give split the characters up a bunch, Radiant Dawn has More of the great characters :2 Yes I know, not all of them are as fleshed out and thought out as the first game’s characters, but yo I still love them. I love a good continuation to a story. I love a ‘hey maybe it wasn’t as Black & White as we were made to believe’ twist. Also just hella good memories from watching BigKlingy play these games. The audience memed Aran to the final levels. We did it, he did so well, Aran deserved to be there xD Radiant Dawn also brings us Nailah, who is just. Yeah, you speak to me on so many levels, I’m easily readable. But also, woman, wolf, strong, yasss~~ Also I love the idea of the Jaegan character being a Thief/Assassin. That’s just so different and cool to me after all these Horse Units. And I’m the one guy who likes Levail and would love to see more of him. Give us more of Levail, the man who almost made it to being playable. Man. Levail is probably the one reason I’d pick Radiant Dawn over Path of Radiance xD The other game I’ve watched BigKlingy play through (and that’s my only experience on that game) is Sacred Stones. Pretty solid game all in all. Story, characters, but speaking of that story, if you really think about it, it’s Hella Dark, and that’s actually kinda cool in a way. I’m not that into dark stories, but here it worked. Also watched PhoenixMaster1′s playthrough on the Echoes game. I do like the game, if i find it one day I Might buy it but I’m not like in a hurry to get it. It was cool though, different for reasons but hey~ Also, Berkut, yes. I’m one of those people who like this angry man. But come on, he was really good xD Spyro I’ve already talked about in my lengthy little thing that I’ll get to continuing eventually xD But yes, I freaking love Spyro, my childhood, still very enjoyable experience full of great memories Metroid Fusion - Oh boy here come the nostalgia~ I’ve actually never played any Metroid games myself. I got introduced to the series in the early 2010s through youtube videos. I’m fairly sure it was me looking through dozens and dozens of Top 10 videos, several of which were on ‘the scariest bosses’, either unexpectedly scary or something else. But guess what, Nightmare from Fusion was in there, and I Think the person in the video said something on not wanting to even show the final forms of Nightmare’s face because it was that horrifying to them. And honestly? The fact that they didn’t show how bad it got, mixed with my morbid curiosity and woop, here I go~ Down the Metroid rabbithole where I watched a lot of videos on people fighting Nightmare and the other bosses in the game, eventually going into watching full run-throughs of the game and enjoying my time. Game looked pretty good, soundtrack was really nice too. And so I ended up on listening to a lot of the game series’ music and getting more familiar with the other games and the lore too. Learning to know that Samus was a lady was also hella badass. Fusion started it all for me, and while Super Metroid is cool, people also just play it a loooot, especially the Speedrunners, there’s also plenty of hacks based on that game and yeah I get it the game is Good, but that makes Fusion all the more special to me~ Devil May Cry 3 - Ok so again, I’ve not played any DMC games myself. This one again though is nostalgia ocean for me~ 2010 or such, I’m on some forum, said forum has a forum game based around songs or such and someone links one from this game. I Think it was the Doppelganger battle theme, or then I just found that one and listened to it for hours among the other battle themes these games have because they’re soooo gooood~~ DMC 4 was fairly new at that time, but I remember Gredo’s and Agnus’ themes being up there in songs I listened to a lot too. My experiences and stuff on this series was fully based on the songs, images on said songs, bits and pieces of the cutscenes of these games I saw and comments I read. I didn’t get too deep into DMC back then though, but I did have a bit of knowledge here and there, even if my idea of the stories in all the games was, well, I wouldn’t call it warped, but I definitely had imagined the story going differently to how things actually went xD Still, as a few years back I returned to DMC out of that feeling of nostalgia, and discovered DMC 5 had Just been released, boi, I was In. And I watched through cutscene compilations, playthoughs and what have you on all the games (Except for DmC, boot to you ReBoot), and it was quite the hype time~ I enjoy the chracters, the story that there is around them, and just how carefree and fun stuff can be. The party sure did get crazy~ Lost Dimension - The last game I have on the list there. This might be a weird one and I get that yeah. How many have even heard of this game? I sure wouldn’t have ever known of it without BigKlingy’s playthrough of it. But that playthrough was full of memories, I should really rewatch it one day~ I may not remember an awful lot about the game, but I do keep coming back to it in one way or another. I liked the character designs, the fact that all of them were unique and had their own abilities, there was a bit of story around all of them, the traitor system had you thinking & made each run a little different... That’s some Cool Stuff! The game might be a bit obscure and seriously not known at all, but for what it was, it was great and I enjoyed it a bunch! And now for stuff that wasn’t on the list but I kinda still want to mention. Because why not~ IB - This Almost made it onto the list, but I felt a little closer of a connection to the other games on it. But IB is one of those games from the early 2010s that I also got introduced to through the wonderful world of Youtube. I have forgotten the name of the person whose playthrough in the game I watched. But I watched a ton of people play this game. It was just. So cool. The puzzles in this game were nice and the fact I myself could solve and understand them too was pretty nice to me, and for some reason I just enjoyed watching other people react to the game and try solving stuff. It also had a couple different endings so watching and seeing what the other people got was also interesting. Great memories~ Witch’s House / Ao Oni / Mad Father - And all sorts of other horror games that kinda fall under this grouping and style and stuff. Yeah, IB kinda opened a bit of a thing for me as I realized I greatly enjoyed the horror games with puzzle elements to themselves + a bit of story here and there. There’s definitely much much more than these 3, I watched soooo many of these games being played by others. Ao Oni I may have discovered through my Hetalia phase though, HetaOni, if any of you still recognize that name. Daym. Although at first I didn’t want to watch HetaOni because of the portraits. Pfffff I thought the person who made them was being mean to some of the characters, but nah, I’d later learn that those were simply just mimicing the ones from the original game. But yeah, Ao Oni had a dozen variants and things inspired by it so those kept me busy for a whiiiiiile Hades - Now here’s a cool recent game! Again, haven’t played it, but it looks cool. The story is nice, character designs are God Like (hehe), soundtrack is super cool, aesthetics and oh my god everything is voice acted oh my gooood. This game is just. So cool. And the team who did it seems really cool too and are seemingly full of nice amazing people. This is definitely some great example work on how things should be done :2 Definitely something to look up to, I love everything about them~ The only reason Hades isn’t up there is because of its recentness and my brain not managing to think of it somehow even as I struggled to come up with stuff (I was mostly trying to think of stuff I had played, so that’s one thing. I even struggled to remember DMC because my current hyperfixations are elsewhere and that’s freaking Wild considering how much I enjoy DMC) But yeah, Hades is Super Freaking Cool Crash Bandicoot - These games I did play as a kid actually, the 1st one was way too hard and the 3rd one was my favourite. I like Crash, these games were nice too and I have plenty of good memories with the game, just not enough to make it up there on my list. Yeah it sounds stupid that I’d take out a game I actually played and replace it with stuff that I didn’t, but... Hey, my list Minecraft - Watched several videos on other people pllaying this game, I know of it, I respect it, but I’ve never played it myself and stuff. It’s cool but didn’t make it on the list Animal Crossing - Riiiiiight, these games seem adorable and I wouldn’t mind owning an AC game one day. I’d probably reset continuously though to get Skye in my town/village/island, she’s my favourite xD If the recent game had cost lest I might have gotten it. 60-70€ is just, a lot of money Persona - I guess I’ll mention these too. My experiences are through Bigklingy’s videos again. 3 is a fave, 4 seems cool, 5 I don’t know a lot about but it seems nice too. I probably wouldn’t be able to play these games myself, since some fights kinda need certain things and strategies and you can’t really just pick whatever and whom ever and roll through with brute strength. I mean, I Guess you could, but that might not be as fun in the long run? Who knows, but it’s not exactly like Pokemon or Fire Emblem in those regards you know The big conclusion is that I like all sorts of different aesthetic looks, mostly probably natural with some brighter colors in it. Stories are good, I love stories! Good characters with nice designs and backstories are really nice too. Things being thought out and built nicely is great you know? A little bit of strategy, fantasy here and there. Nothing too dark and gloomy or ‘hyper realistic’ or what have you. I guess no first person shooters either, though combat is fine. Games where I can pick and choose what to use and what kinds of ‘teams’ I build and the ‘members’ I use in them is nice. I do love watching others play, but with games like Pokemon & Fire Emblem I have that drive of choosing who to use and having my own unique experience kinda gets me to buy the games.

Hey Dolphin anon! While I respect your opinion, I disagree on some points. I don’t know where the popular sentiment that he doesn’t denounce his stans’ toxic behavior came from but he’s said multiple times that he denounces it (https://twitter.com/PooGnf/status/1399592255657156608/video/1 ignore the user lol :) ) and that’s just what he says on Twitter. Some of it yeah is a little more lighthearted, like when he talks about Detective Dream in some of the tweets, but I’d say that a fair amount of those tweets lack sarcasm and are said in full seriousness. In addition, he’s also said not to send hate on his behalf during multiple of his own livestreams, he said it when he went on Kaceytron’s streams, he said he didn’t condone toxic behavior during Kavos’s video, as well as multiple times throughout various drama like the speedrunning situation and the John Swan situation (for Blue and others, John Swan is a commentary youtubers who basically did a lot of weird shit, who Dream worked with in the past and had a bad experience with. man imitated Dream’s discord profile and pretended to be him while sending sexual things to a minor, and then tried to blame everything he did on his 12-year old neighbor when he got caught, saying he left his computer open and that that neighbor got on Discord and was the one who did all that weird shit. Obviously false and got proven false, but even when Dream was debunking the situation on stream, he said not to send hate). He’s said it multiple times and I agree that he should continue to say it as he continues to grow to remind both new and old fans but he’s said it multiple times and at this point, anyone who Is still sending death threats is aware that it’s wrong and that he doesn’t support it and they just don’t care. I personally think that behavior is disgusting and I know most of the people I interact with on Twitter do as well. At this point, it’s just sort of a question of to what extent do people want him to say it. The most recent time he denounced death threats was on May 31st both on Twitter and on stream, and he’s probably said it at least once a month almost every month since like December, so he says it quite a bit, so going further would be personally DMing each toxic person he sees and telling them to stop which. I just think is a little absurd. I know that others want him to post a video on his main channel about it and condoning it as well, but I sort of disagree? While death threats can be sent on any platform, the platform on which people receive it on the most is Twitter. Anyone who’s obsessed enough to send death threats is going to be following him on all socials so they’ve definitely seen him condemning it as he’s tweeted saying that he doesn’t support that type of behavior multiple times, but of course, others are allowed to disagree with me on that, I just think that it’s hard to find a good course of action past that. I agree that toxic behavior should still be called out, but I feel like a lot of people advocating for him to do it more than he is now kind of don’t understand how out of control toxic behavior is and how they rarely listen to creators themselves.
The speedrunning stuff I kind of agree on, though I’ll just go a little more in depth about the situation. basically, for those who don’t watch Dream’s videos, dream codes mod videos for Minecraft and these mod videos would consist of things like “Minecraft but everything is dark” and “Minecraft but we can only see one chunk at a time”. Now because Dream still runs the dream SMP and did speed running at the time he had to move these mods out of the mod folder in order to do everything else that he was doing when he wasn’t recording videos. This would later on lead to the problem where the speed run moderators would ask for his mods folder and he wouldn’t be able to provide a full copy because he had since moved stuff around because it had been a week after the actual speedrun streams they were inquiring about. The thing that ended up being the problem was a recording mod that Dream had asked a separate developer to create for him and the Dream Team in order to make their recordings smoother. that was sort of it there weren’t any specifics given, he just wanted recordings to be better. Now because it was just for recordings and since the mod ran well dream didn’t ask the developer for the specifics of what they coded into this recording mod at the time. In his mind this recording mod sort of just clean things up visually. And for those who have never really played Minecraft, what I mean by that is if you press F5 in Minecraft you get a whole ton of information on your screen about coordinates and computer specs. When people say that the mod cleaned things up visually, they mean that all of that irrelevant information that clogs up the screen in a video was minimized to just coordinates. he was wrong in this assumption, the Recording mud also included coding that allowed for better trades. again for anyone who doesn’t play Minecraft, Dream and the Dream Team record their videos in the 1.16 version of Minecraft. In this version of Minecraft, it’s a widely used tactic to use piglin trades to get ender pearls. Since their videos aren’t just about beating the game regularly, there’s usually more of a focus on fighting or the specific mod that they’re using for that video, the developer increased the likelihood of ender pearl trades with pigeons in order to make recordings go faster. Regardless of that and his misconception of what the mod actually did, Dream didn’t believe it mattered because there was no record of him having loaded that recording mod during the speedrunning streams in question. This is because Dream uses something that a lot of speed runners use, he uses Fabric. Fabric API is something that both allows your Minecraft to run smoother (which is why a lot of speed runners use it, it’s approved to be used by the speed run moderators) and for those who wish to do so, it also functions as a mod loader. So when I said that he had no record of him having loaded the recording mod, I mean that when he checked the logs of Fabric API, it said that the only thing loaded was Fabric itself. this was inherently a wrong way to go about it because the way Fabric API logs work is that you have to be searching for a specific mod, so you can’t just look at what the log says is loaded on because sometimes the logs don’t show a mod unless you specifically ask the program to look for it. Dream figured this out a couple months ago, he went back through the logs, talk to the developer who coded the recording mod and got confirmation that yes, he did have the recording mod on and yes, the recording mod does increase ender pearl drop rates. He recently wrote a pastebin that has since been taken down by the pastebin staff though screenshots of it are still easy to find. I do wish that he had come out about this sooner because he knew of this information for a couple months before openly sharing, but I do get the situation has sort of faded and that he wasn’t excited to re-open that discussion when he himself had gotten a lot of hate and the threats during that situation.
Obviously as outsiders looking in we will never know how genuine he’s being, if he’s telling the truth, but I choose to believe that he did feel as bad about the situation as he said he did because for a lot of people who do consume his content, it’s been very noticeable within the past couple months that he’s been a lot less active both in terms of streaming and just interacting with the community, but of course, it’s all just personal interpretation and we will never actually know.
Just wanted to explain the situation fully because people who may not play Minecraft and understand it the developing behind it may not understand how he could’ve possibly not seen the mod or not have a copy of the mod folder. I would disagree with you on the point that the controversy around Dream’s speed runs has delegitimized the rest of the speed running community. As someone who still watches well-known speed runners like Bennex and Illumina (TapL and Punz if they count as well), I don’t think any of them have really argued that they think that situation has delegitimize them, though I guess you could argue that they simply haven’t spoken up because they’re a little too afraid to speak up against a big Youtuber, which is fair. But as someone who has spoken to a lot of people who have sort of slightly read up on the situation without actually caring about Minecraft or Dream, none of them have said that they think that the speed running community is not legitimate because of it. Not to sound flippant because I do like watching speedrunners (albeit the already more popular ones) or anything, but the Minecraft speedrunning community isn’t exactly very mainstream, not very many people care enough to actively oppose it or say that they’re not legitimate, from what I’ve seen it’s either just you support the community or you don’t care. Even people who actively thought that dream cheated from the beginning, never used that to discredit the rest of the community (at least from what I saw). They simply didn’t care. anyone making that argument is sort of ridiculous, before the 1.16 speed runs that got investigated, Dream already had a couple official speed runs on his YouTube channel. At the time they were posted, they were approved and legitimate (though I believe one’s been taken down now), so it’s not like even Dream’s entire time in speedrunning was completely falsified, so anyone using one situation to delegitimize a whole community is being a little ridiculous. In addition, anyone who actually knows and cares enough about the speedrunning community to try to claim that all of them aren’t credible, would know that a lot of the speedrunning community didn’t even like dream all that much, even before the cheating out allegations, and they didn’t really associate with him, so they would know the Dream’s actions don’t define the entire community. If you’re talking about Dream’s more general fans, like those who watch his YouTube who may now be skewed against the speedrunning community, you can look at comments in his community tab on his channel and see that people aren’t actively against the speedrunning community, they just say they don’t care and they want it behind them which is very different from thinking that they are all illegitimate. Though if you have substantial proof of multiple cases of multiple people being biased against speedrunning community and believing that they’re all cheaters after Dream’s situation, I’d be open to see them.
I also disagree with your point over Dream being a “professional speed runner”. He says this in responses to claims that speedrunning is a huge part of his career. And he’s correct when people talk about dreams achievements, none of them really talk about speed running that much it’s always about the SMP, his manhunt videos, and his coding videos. He’s not a professional speed runner in the way Illumina and Couriway and Bennex are. His career isn’t based on professional speedrunning. Citing the Minecraft manhunt series as proof that he’s a “professional speed runner“ is definitely a little skewed and ultimately wrong. If you tried to claim those as official speedruns, the moderating team would likely have a little laugh and then reject it. Yes, he has speed runner in the title and yes in a way, it is a speedrun because he is trying to beat the game as fast as possible, but more so he’s trying to avoid being killed by his friends in the game so it’s about both speed and being smart. Everyone within the speed run community and a lot of those outside of it would know that being chased down by your friends during the game isn’t a real category in Minecraft speedrunning and therefore the Minecraft Manhunt videos aren’t official speed runs. So people claiming that dream is an official speed runner and that that’s his career is ultimately false, which is what he was saying. His official speed runs were all done for fun and have never been the main focus of his content.
When you say that the legitimacy of the speedrunning community was called into question, I will admit, I’m unsure if you’re talking about the community itself and the people with in it, like the actual speedrunners, or if you’re talking about the moderator team or both. I will admit, even as someone who hyperfixates on Dream, his initial reaction to the moderators video saying that he cheated was godawful. for Blue and others who aren’t as into this and don’t know, basically the gist was he was lashing out and saying it was total bullshit and calling them idiots. He has since deleted that tweet and apologized for it and admitted that it was incredibly childish and impulsive. While I do get why he was so mad since the video had blindsided him after weeks of radio silence from the moderators and as a kid who didn’t finish high school he didn’t really understand the statistics that were being said in the video and since at the time he genuinely didn’t think that he cheated (a lot of people have said that all this combined led to heavy RSD which is why he lashed out like that), I still think that he could’ve handled the situation a lot better. on the other hand I think the moderators could’ve handled this situation a lot better as well. I don’t want to talk about the whole moderator team but I do want to talk about specifically Geosquare, who is probably the most talked about moderator when it comes to the situation. Dolphin anon, if you’re talking about the legitimacy of the moderator team being called into question, I’m assuming the situation surrounding Geosquare is likely what you’re talking about, which is a slightly different situation from just the speedrunning. So for Blue and others, before the video talking about Dream cheating was released, Dream had been told that there were people on the moderating team who didn’t like him. Knowledge of this bias is also a part of what caused Dream to lash out more in his initial reaction (though again it doesn’t excuse it). The biased moderator in question turned out to be Geosquare. This was heavily proven later on in about March of this year, where Geosquare played a large role in spreading the video of fake ‘dream’ saying the n-word. Geosquare was a speedrun moderator, he Has investigative skills and he got called out for spreading that video without doing any sort of investigating because it was clear to a lot of people that the person in the video wasn’t Dream. There were multiple things that made this video seem not credible, all of which easily could’ve been found by Geosquare.
Firstly, antis of Dream had been saying since January that they were going to try to find a way to accuse Dream of saying the N-word whether that just be through spreading rumors or faking a video or whatever else. Secondly, the video really sounds nothing like dream. Now I will say this video that the clip of someone saying the n-word was from 2016-2017. I’m not saying the video was fake, I’m not saying that someone somehow predicted that Dream was going to become a big creator or time traveled and went back in time to set him up for that. but the most common theory is that and he simply did go looking back through old Minecraft videos in order to find something incriminating. Both the creator of this video and a friend of the person who was saying the N-word in the video have since explained this. so basically for blue and others, Dream has not always on the Minecraft username Dream. He got it from someone else. And so the person in this video is called Dream. Since it was a while ago the timeline’s a little fuzzy for everyone and it’s unsure if this video occurred before Dream got the username or if it occurred after Dream got the username and the people within the video simply still called the person in the video Dream because that was what they were used to calling them. The clip’s a little too grainy to see the usernames and the video has since been taken down by the original poster. Either way, two different people. Geosquare has since admitted that this was bias on his end and that he apologized to Dream and that they’re all good and has given an apology to the black community for using the n-word as a weapon for his own bias and he has since stepped from the speedrun moderating team. so dolphin anon, when you’re talking about the legitimacy of the community being called into question if you’re talking about the moderating team, yes, you’d be correct, it was called into question, but I would say for valid and good reasons because it ultimately was biased (though again, doesn’t change that Dream was the one in the wrong in the speedrunning situation w how he initially reacted). I don’t want to fully blame Geosquare and say that it was completely obvious it wasn’t Dream or make it seem completely obvious to you guys, because things like mic changes and puberty do exist, so I’ll give the clips and allow you all to decide for yourselves.
The clip of someone, accused to be Dream, saying the N-word: https://twitter.com/Tommathyinnit/status/1375395156791336964/video/1 (I am not entirely sure which speaker is being accused to be Dream, which was sort of the first indicated to me that it probably wasn’t him because I don’t think peoples voices change That much, but I think he was being accused to be the person who was saying “well you can bring your friend...”) Again, this video is from 2016-2017.
A clip of Dream talking, also from 2016-2017: https://twitter.com/Onciescumbucket/status/1357440678909923335/video/1 (okay so. again ignore the user 😭 but it’s confirmed to be Dream by the fact it does sound like him and his long-time friends Sapnap, who used to go by PandascanPvP, and BadBoyHalo being in the video. I believe the video has captions so even for those who don’t know Dream or what he sounds like, it’ll tell you which one’s him and you can compare that voice to the one in the other clip)
But yeah. aaaaa I’m sorry for such a long submission, I’m hyperfixated on Dream and the Dream Team, though I do understand that there are legitimate criticisms on all of them and that no one’s required to like them, and people don’t need real reasons to dislike them because people are allowed to dislike whomever they want. Definitely not any hate towards you dolphin anon, I think that you do have points, I just wanted to express my disagreement with some of them and it’s nice that you do acknowledge that the toxicity goes both ways for both stans and antis. I think a big problem is that a lot of the creators who condemn or speak against Dream (people like Slasher and Noah Hugbox and Kavos) don’t openly condemn the toxic behavior of their own fans as much as Dream does, so it becomes a very hypocritical cycle where they’re making videos about the toxicity of Dream stans and yet their own fans send death threats to Dream and his community. And since the death threats towards Dream come from multiple different fanbase rather than one centralized fanbase the way it is if toxic people from Dream’s community are attacking someone, he can’t really pin it on one person and ask them to denounce their fans so it just becomes a thing where he’s both receiving a ton of death threats while being asked to denounce death threats towards others when there’s no one really denouncing death threats towards him, which is just discouraging for his community to see, but that’s just how the Internet is, I suppose. Again, no hate to you dolphin anon and I’m sorry if any part of this came off as such, and again Blue, I’m sorry for such a long submission
MY GOODNESS WHAT A SCROLL Not gonna read all of it cuz its clearly dedicated to my dolphin anon.

Here’s what this sleep-deprived idiot who sucks at STEM got from Dream’s video:
- the problems with the mods’ stats that I could understand/pick up on from this very confusing video include: sampling bias (only using six of his streams and not all his speedrun streams, for some reason); stopping bias (only basing the statistics off of the trades in the videos, which stop when he gets ender pearls; to be more accurate, you need to run an experiment where trades are stopped randomly, not just when one gets ender pearls); the fact that odds were based off the existing streams of speedruns, disregarding that there are millions of other players who speedrun and don’t make videos
- luck isn’t enough to base a cheating accusation on
- I still don’t know if the mods actually found some problem with the code in the world files he uploaded that could suggest tampering
- fabric is a normal mod loader that most top speedrunners use. also, the mod file shows that dream didn’t have any other mod loading in via fabric
- I STILL DON’T KNOW IF THE LOOT TABLES WERE FUCKED WITH. WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT FOR ANYONE TO ADDRESS?? (I didn’t even think he had any fucking mods loaded in; that wasn’t the goddamn problem, the problem was whether or not he altered the rng himself with a plugin/other tamper-y method via code)
- my problems with the video include: a lot of his logic seems to be based on the argument that he simply could’ve been super lucky, and that we should simply accept that; he kinda brushes off the fact that the odds the expert came up with, though not as insane as 1/7.5 trillion, are still fucking insane and very unlikely (1 in 10 million); bringing up that there are 37 possible rng factors that one could tamper with when cheating, but only as a means of making him seem more reliable than the mods (who he frames as having picked a “random” number of things they couldn’t even list), and not even listing or going into those 37 things himself
- those 6 streams shouldn't account for too small a sample, imo. it only makes sense to use his last 6 streams, and plus, it wasn't like these were just 6 speedruns; each of these streams had hours worth of speed runs, making for a sizable sample. plus, you can clearly see a spike in his "luck" in those last 6 streams, when you take into account all of them, meaning that if he did cheat, he only started cheating for those last 6
- 25 minutes wasn’t enough for this response, considering that there were so many points (the 37 possible factors, the formula the mods used and his expert’s test with that formula, etc.) that he should’ve attributed more time to, even if the full report is available, too (since most people invested in this won’t bother to read or even be able to understand the report, but they probably will watch this vague, not nearly in-depth-enough video)
- some super manipulative things I noticed that dream tends to use in written and video arguments, including this one: making light jokes he knows his fans will focus on instead of the substance of the video, because that’s how mcyt fans’ attention spans work and he knows it; constant appeal to ethos by belittling the mods as a bunch of kids/volunteers vs. the framing of his evidence as coming from an astrophysicist with a phd; trying to act like he wasn’t super hurt by the things the mods said/the bias he perceived them to display, to establish a false stance of neutrality to viewers, then proceeding to rip into them
- my personal praise for this video: addressing that his past actions were immature, but human and should be understandable (with which I agree); putting in this immense amount of effort in such a short period of time to create a more than sufficient response; addressing that he actually did upload the world files on-time and that that information is now publicly-available
My conclusion: I feel like Dream’s personal argument, at the end of the day, boils down to his feeling pissed off at not being accepted for being able to get such insane luck and, thusly, achieve such a good speedrun. He’s exhibited in other videos and competitions that his egotistical and sensitive nature make it so that he truly does believe that luck is just on his side, and if something doesn’t go his way, it is not the universe’s fault, but rather, either a fault of his own or because of someone else’s hand. He claims he didn’t cheat, and frankly, I really want to believe that, but I’m simply not smart enough at statistics to weigh in on who I believe more; I’ll probably get a friend of mine who studies comp sci and engineering to give me his opinion before I truly decide. For now, based on what I understand and the gaping, wide holes in his argument, I'm going to believe that he cheated. I honestly just want him to apologize and move on at this point. At the end of the day, whether he cheated or not, I frankly don’t care. I’m still going to be obsessed with his content, still think he’s very, very good at Minecraft, and I still think he’s probably a bit of a prideful, resentful asshole, just as I am; I thought this before any of the cheating scandal arose, and I never cared because everyone is flawed and I’d long ago given up on holding any content creator up to an unjustified pedestal. The truth is, all they show us is a fraction of their true selves and lives, and that’s fine by me. I still laugh at Dream’s streams, I’m still obsessed with the Dream SMP, and I still have probably 50+ DNF compilation videos on my Watch Later list.
At the end of the day, whether you liked Dream before this or hated him, I suggest you do the same: simply stop caring so much. This is a speedrun in a fucking lego block game, for christ’s sake. If you like Dream, you like the character he is displaying for his audience; you'll never fucking know him as a person
#anyways#it was a good video overall i will say#dreamwastaken#dream#mcyt#lol hopefully i dont piss off too many people#dream discourse#discourse#unpopular opinions#mine#hopefully i dont piss off the stans too much oof

“YO, SOMEONE CLIP THAT!” (1)
Excitement
a feeling of great enthusiasm and eagerness.
"YES! I WENT TO THE SECOND STRONGHOLD, HA HA!"
(In this Minecraft fanfiction, you actually spawn INTO the game of Minecraft, and feel pain and damage, adding to the tension.)
"Hey, you lovely degenerates! Star here, and today we're going to be playing Minecraft Manhunt, based on the ever-popular YouTuber Dream, along with his friends! No, I don't have anyone to play with, so today, it's Minecraft Youtuber vs. Terminator! Woo-Hoo!" The chat erupted into claps, or well, saying claps as you adjusted the (favorite color) headset on your head. It wasn't normal for them to get this much attention, more or less 700 viewers on their stream. You gave a small chuckle at it, as you loaded up the famous Minecraft screen, the soft glowing of the screen illuminating your (skin color) face as you gave your most signature grin. Loading a random world and updating some of your other platforming games, you found yourself in a mushroom biome, one of the rarest biomes in the games. No trees, which meant that you had to make a literal break for it after you spawned the terminator in.
Pulling up the chat, everyone was spamming "RUN" "GO" or something along those lines. Giving a small chuckle, and flirting your (eye color) eyes around the surroundings, you found that there was a shipwreck, maybe 100 blocks off from the spawn.
"You guys ready?"
Spawning the terminator in, you found yourself quickly running off towards the shipwreck, while you heard heavy footsteps behind yourself. Moving towards the mushroom biomes, you took the time to actually get some of the mushrooms from the ground and giant ones above, making sure that the terminator was always one step behind you as you took off towards the water. Dirt sounds were being built as you dove into the water, the small bubble of airs popping in front of you as you swam your way towards the shipwreck. Thankfully, it was on land, so you didn't have to worry about swimming all the way down towards the bottom of the ocean in hopes of trying not to drown.
Seeing that it was capsized, you quickly got onto the ship, searching around for the chest. Enchanted leather boots and helmet, iron and gold ingots, and some emeralds. Not a good find, but at least it offered some protection in the ways that you could protect yourself from the terminator.
"Oh boy.. I need wood."
Mumbling to yourself, you didn't realize that you were way behind on your normal schedule and that the terminator was getting closer than you had expected. Collecting only two pieces of wood from the shipwreck, you dove back off, but nothing was around. Seaweed and everything else yes, but nothing was really around for you to get past this guy without having to go and try to fight him off. You knew he did about 5 hearts of damage, so a combo on yourself would definitely kill you right here and there. You couldn't fight him off with a stick, no less than you had enough iron nuggets to only make two ingots.
Thinking about it, you started to realize you heard dolphins. Dolphins, by the shore? Well, that was a bit surprising. Seeing the dolphin to the side, you swam quickly up to the shore, seeing that the dolphin had already given you the effect of fast swimming. Letting out a chuckle, and flipping the terminator off, you swam off quickly, and in a little of given time, you were very far away from them, the dolphin finally leaving you as you made your way to shore. Grabbing some of the sand and throwing it into the water after you hauled yourself from it, you made your way through the birch forest, grabbing whatever you could to make a crafting table and an iron sword for protection. Making some gold ingots as well and cutting down some more leaves for apples, you decided to check in on your chat, and boy were they going wild.
THEY DID A DREAM SFKDLSAJFKDAS DREAM IS LITERALLY QUAKING ARE YOU SURE YOU'RE NOT DREAM'S ALTER EGO, BECAUSE-
Literally, all you could do was laugh, trying to convince them that no, they weren't Dream's alter ego, and two, it was just pure luck, not a Dream move. If they hadn't noticed the shipwreck earlier, you wouldn't have even made it this far in the game. Now knowing that you had at least a crazy lead on him, and you can respond to some of the donations (which you literally told them not to, but thanks anyway for the crazy donations) and pulled them up, starting to get to work on how they should get to the nether while mining in a cave.
"Since we're so far ahead, let's go ahead and read some donations from our lovely degenerates! Fluffy123 says 'That was such a dream move, poggers', with 5 dollars! What have I told you guys about donations up to 5 dollars?! I don't need it! But thanks anyways Fluffy, I didn't know I can pull off such a Dream move!"
"DreamTeamSimp says 'When are you going to collab with Pixel again?' Well, after a bit! She's currently moving into her own house, so maybe in a week or so, you're going to see some more Minecraft and Fall Guys collabs with us! And 3 dollars! Thank you so much!"
"TommyPoggers says 'If you could have any wish, what would it be?' for 4 dollars! Thank you, and to answer your question Tommy, for us to stop having COVID-19. I don't REALLY want everything to go back to the way it was, but if I had to choose, it would be that, even though the earth does well without us, and it's beautiful anyway!"
"DreamWasTakenToMars says 'Would you actually do a collab with Sapnap if you could?' for 99 cents! Awww, thank you! And yeah, I would! Y'all, he even said 'Baka' on a stream, causing all of us weebs and geeks to go wild, so heck if I could, I definitely would if I could!"
After reading the donations, you continued to talk with your chat, making sure that everyone was doing okay before you started to go back to concentrating on the game at hand, yelling a small yes in triumph as you found diamonds, RIGHT above the diamond level.
"well, at least I'll die happily!"
"POGGERS! LET'S FREAKING GO!"
You had knocked the terminator in the void, and right before you could fall in too, you placed a water bucket on the end stone above you, climbing up the water before quickly grabbing it back into the bucket. Running back to where you had the beds ready, you dodged the nearby endermen as you placed down the water in the small end hole, blocking yourself with stone as you placed the final bed. Watching everything unfold, your viewers had grown from 700 to at least 1,000 in the span of the 3 hours you were playing.
The bed blew up, the dragon unleashing a growl of pain before exploding in a nearby light, causing you to look down as the portal below you showed the purple glowing of the end, as you fell through. The end of Minecraft, as you found yourself back in the real world, watching your chat say so much loving stuff you couldn't help but laugh. Donations were flooding, hearts were booming, people were actually subscribing as you gave another laugh, adjusting the microphone in front of your mouth, giving your favorite viewers a salute.
"Pog. We did it, we beat Minecraft, with a literal robot on our tail. Poggers! And thanks to everyone that donated during the stream, I hope I read all of yours! Now, let's get to naming some of the last donations that actually happened during the final moments!"
"Jason says 'that was absolutely incredible! Dream has competition.' Jason, no. I will never be as good as the Minecraft speedrunner himself, but thanks for saying that! Oh! And thank you for the 2 dollar donation, it really means a lot!"
"SappyNappy says 'don't you just love it when you get to the end' with a TEN DOLLAR DONATION?! HOLY MAN, YOU'RE LIKE THE TOP DONATOR! THANK YOU! And yeah! It's the feeling of you ending out of that relation that makes it feel so good!"
Everyone was still celebrating in the chat as you read the chat to them out loud, laughing, smiling, fussing, whatever came your way, you would try and answer it as quickly as possible to get to the next person with a question. You had gone by Star for at least a month now, gaining some sizable attention for playing Minecraft colorblind like George, half the world was missing plus blocks had gravity like Sapnap and Minecraft Manhunts but with some special twist on them like Dream. You didn't mean to accidentally copy what they were doing, you were just doing it for fun, for your viewers, and for your enjoyment!
"Alright alright, you lovely degenerates! That is it for this stream of "Minecraft Youtuber vs. Terminator! As always, poggers, simps, and everyone else in between have a lovely day, and I'll see you, IN THE NIGHT-TIME SKY!"
You gave a small wave, with a closed eye smile before going offline, many people saying bye before you closed down your twitch stream. Now, to any of you wondering, yes you do have a twitch account, with at least 1k people who are really much the best people you could ever ask for. You found your phone buzzing on your bed, as you pulled up the shut down button for your computer, seeing that your phone was going absolutely bonkers.
Giving a small groan, you got up, and just flopped on your bed as you looked at your twitter, and boy oh boy, it was going INSANE with clips of you outsmarting a computer once again, and again, and you had to chuckle at everyone, throwing your phone to a nearby charging station, and flopping into your bed, you silently started to doze off, the fan above you slightly moving your (hair color) (hair length) hair as you snored slightly. You never did really check all of your messages though.

i was watching a DOOM speedrunners video about cheaters and someone in the video made a response to being called out that’s so funny
You humour me greatly with your arrogance and contempt, a flood of accusations born from the poison of envy and smite of disrespect. I feel both disappointment and flattery these thoughts would originate from another player who has demonstrated one of a kind talent and has accomplished the impossible, yet is apparently immune from judgement owing to their reputation, do not think your words hold more credibility just because of who you are, being more well known and what you have accomplished in breaking world records and setting ones never previously accomplished, such as with TNT and Plutonia Nightmare. With that being said I will divulge my thoughts on the serious accusations you have set forth. I won't address the individual gameplay scenarios you've highlighted, as the foundation of your argument arises from jealously, this is clear when you contrast my success with your failure, being deluded into thinking you should have surpassed these trials yet cannot absolutely comprehend how someone else can claim victory on a consistent basis, instead I will address my playing ability. You know nothing about who I am or my history with this game, I am exceptionally talented not only at Doom, but other oldschool FPS along with videogames in general. I make speedruns and partake in Ironman out of passion for the game, it is a personal challenge in testing my playing ability to overcome arduous odds, I play for fun, it's about me vs the game and I hold no strong competitive urge or desire to be known as the best, reputation and status are not important to me but having fun is essential. Are you serious when you can't believe someone can beat an Ironman consistently? It's just playing the game without saving or loading, do you not have a fundamental understanding of the core gameplay and how to the play game correctly? Am I the only one who can play aggressively, with an intuitive and innate ability to bend the game to their will and not panic when in a dire situation, but with tactical genius aware of my surroundings and dexterous reflexes can act in the heat of battle and overcome arduous odds? When you highlight cases of RNG, I honestly don't think about it that deeply, I'm confident in what I'm doing, I'll make a risky move and hold strong with faith. I laugh at your baseless accusations of slowdown in reference to Stardate, I'm sure other skilled players such as Mrzzul and Nevanos could playthrough Stardate casually withour prior practice or saving and get just as far. Also bear in mind that I have died in several Ironmans before, do you honestly think their was demo manipulation there? You also demonstrate your ignorance very clearly when you admit you haven't watched my Ironman demos in full, and by watching I do mean actually studying them and assessing each scenario, bearing in mind my experience and ability at Doom which is extradonary, not skipping to a random moment and making up fabrications based on your own failures thinking oh it's impossible, their is no way any player could accomplish that. I do make mistakes, sometimes crucial ones, this is also reflected if you studied my speedruns which are far from perfect and have flaws such as missing shots, awkward movement and poor dodging, however a key skill I have is not panicing when low on health or when the circumstance is dire. Well guess what, I'm one of a kind, no one can play the game like me, every talented player and speedrunner has their own strengths and weaknesses that make them stand out. I am deluded when you suggest someone must have prior knowledge to stand a chance of victory at Ironman. Well look at Demon of the Well, he's not a speedrunner but is known for making FDAs both blind and familiar, he has an exceptional ability at conquering maps on his first attempt, the most prominent example I can think of is rdwpa's MuMe.wad. Does that mean he cheats? Certainly not, he's a talented player who obviously has a high level of playing ability. You also have j4rio and 0xfooba who have accomplished amazing demos that haven't been set before, with the former tysons that should be impossible and the latter UV-Maxes on some the hardest maps devised and speedrun movies of Sunlust. So why would you think my speedruns are cheated, when their are fellow speedrunners who have demonstrated extraordinary playing ability, do not stream and have surpassed my demos? As I certainly have never accussed anyone else of cheating, but respect their accomplishment and admire their tenacity at conquering very hard maps and goals. I have not shown jealously or malice towards fellow speedrunners who have surpassed my demos but silently congratulate and admire their accomplishment, in some cases publicly such as when Ancalagon went back and re-ran Combat Shock in response to when I beat his old runs. I do not look at speedrunning with a competitive eye, thinking I must have the record and surpass my competitor, instead my view is a cooperative one, it's us speedrunners against the game, building on one another's ideas and talent when a new record is set, complementing each other's unique strengths and weaknesses. My question would be why are you accusing and targetting me specifically? I can see from the depths of your arrogance, you believe with absolute certainty you are correct and I must be a cheater with any form of rebuttal being null and void. Well let me state clearly I have nothing to gain, why would I cheat at Ironman when I have pubically stated previously I do not care about winning or if a fellow player surpasses me, this is just fun to me. For speedruns, what would be the purpose in cheating as it's a personal challenge to me, I want to demonstrate to myself I've got the skill and talent to conquer very hard maps, it's about me against the game and I don't feel jealously at a fellow speedrunner who has beaten my record. I make speedruns out of passion and love for the game and not for admiration or self flattery, as long as Andy accepts the demo for DSDA that's all I care about. I am not going to stream as I do not care for an audience and am not influenced by the accusations of an envious stranger. I only streamed briefly for a short time in the past out of curiosity, but it does not interest me nor do I feel passion for it. I haven't watched Twitch in over a year, I was drawn to it in my spare time during the short period prior to my first full time job after finishing my studies. My life has changed a lot in the past two years and their are far more important aspects in life which draw my attention, I have little free time as well. Also you must be very self-conscious if you honestly think one has to stream their demo to demonstrate they aren't cheating, that just indicates your disrespect and distrust towards other players with exceptional playing ability, you'll never be a talented survivalist like me :) Let me make it clear I don't give a damn what you or anyone else thinks of me, when I am passionate about a subject I will speak my mind truthfully even if it means being brash at times, both online and in real life, I won't be intimidated by anyone and will confront them with assertion and confidence. I'm here for fun, making speedruns and commenting on subjects once in a while which capture my eye. Thank you for revealing your true colors, seething with jealously and enveloped by arrogance, you've lost what respect I had for you. If you've come to your senses you will offer an apology, take a good luck in the mirror before you make such a disgusting accusation against a fellow Doom player, who has not caused strife and discord but shows humility and respect with a care free attitude, or will you continue this charade and repeat history, replicating the case of Okuplok? If you do continue to accuse, it will be solely for my amusement as I will not take you seriously and will likely ignore you. Choose wisely.

Pokémon FireRed Nuzlocke [Part 12]
Can we beat the game using Nuzlocke rules and only battling against trainers?
The current answer is leaning towards no. Still, we shan’t give up or in.
Four badges in. Next stop?
Uh. Haven’t decided yet.
So things did not go what I would call according to plan with the Grimer. Ideally, it would have been a higher level than 30. It wouldn’t need me to hold its hand through a bunch of leveling. It would immediately be an asset. Life would be beautiful. Nothing would hurt.
Only it’s level 30.
I have a Ground, Water, Electric, and Normal Type in rotation. Grass has historically been a problem, but it is much less of a problem with a Snorlax. Oak isn’t always the most useful, but he’ll be receiving a huge power boost come Surf collection.
Bark and Trunk are going to be wanting all the Attack EVs I can feed them. Sap is going to want Attack as well. And HP.
Its move pool is a huge plus, and I would be happy to have it available, but to make it available, a lot of switch training would have to happen. When Sprinkle went through that, experience gain dropped to a slow crawl. Sprinkle was only level 25, and at an even later stage in the game, but the approach taken with this round was intended to be geared towards a minimum of pokemon.
Other things to consider would be that in the first run, I lost two pokemon, and a lot of work went into making up for that. The two runs can’t be compared fairly with what levels to expect further down the road. ...I. think.
By the first Elite Four fight, Po was level 46. My highest level pokemon was 49.
It did not go well.
I need this one to go better.
Does it go better with Sap, or does it go better with maxing the heck out of the other four.
I really, really want to use Sap.
Having a status-reliant choice instead of a pure powerhouse makes me more comfortable with everything else. Minimize is good. Screech is welcome. Sludge Bomb is welcome. Acid Armor is welcome. Muk is a kickass thing to have available.
But I’m not sure splitting the exp is going to do me any favors this late in the game. Silph offers a lot of lenience, I guess, but. Cycling Road is going to go to Trunk. So is a lot else, and what doesn’t should help out Bark.
Five pokemon starts to be a lot.
Fuck.
I’m trying it out.
Sap, welcome to the team. Don’t die.
In happier news...
Good job making it this far, buddy.
Route 16, what are we catching here today?
Doduo!
Sap, prove your worth by failing to kill it.
Damn it, Sap. +123 to you and Bark. -_-
Siiiiiigh. I need 30 pokemon for the Itemfinder.
Now Trunk is just going to claim. As much of Cycling Road as possible. Bark will help when possible. ...Or do I want to go deal with Silph? Hey, past me, wtf is the best way of doing this nonsense?
..hm.
I’m going to do Silph for the sheer heck of it, I think. I don’t want to get as far as my Rival yet, but. I don’t know. I’m just not feeling Cycling Road right now. Video games are supposed to be fun, right? Let’s chase some damn fun.
And I don’t think I ever got my Route 7 thing. Let’s do that, too. Hi Growlithe.
SAP WHAT THE HECK. WE WANTED THAT.
Did I misremember how much damage Sludge does???
...
Oh.
Yes.
Yes, I did.
I very much did.
...+130 to Sap and Acorn. -headdesk-
With that in mind, actually, Sap, you and Bark want to try your hands on the dojo next door to Sabrina? Trunk can’t touch any of those guys thanks to the Super Effective problem.
..And Bark can barely touch any of them thanks to her low Defense.
Yeeeeeah, after that short experiment, we’re just gonna go straight to Silph. Where the Rockets are not a thing to be too afraid of.
Beautiful building.
Hellscape place.
...
I don’t wanna do this, either. Uh. South of Lavender, maybe?
Out of order ALL the things.
Route 13, let’s catch a thing.
The thing is a Venonat! We now wait and watch to see if it will end up dead like other recent catches for totally unpreventable reasons.
Caught!
Its name is Oak.
Route 14, in the middle of all these trainers we’re beating down largely out of order.
...Gloom’s technically not viable because Oddish and species clause, but screw it, it’s not going to be used, I’m too lazy to look up what else is here, and I just want this part done and over with. I know that’s really bad form. but. I am not a rules lawyer. once, maybe. not anymore.
Caught. Its name is Oak.
So far with trainers, the way I’m keeping my sanity with exp division is that the Bikers go to Trunk, and Bark and Sap get the Bird Keepers.
It is slow and tiresome. I do not care for thinking when I am playing my video games.
We’re in Route 18 now, and doing the same nonsense to a Raticate. This is it. This is the point. This is where I stop caring about any of the rules except the no grinding thing. Everything else is irrelevant.
Bark ffs. Stop. Sigh.
+414 exp. Route 18 officially dead.
(Also, this looks like I should have known that she would kill it, but Bark still knows Mud Slap. It does as much nothing as anything on my team can. Still not enough nothing when critical hits are involved.)
Good Rod get so that Fuchsia might have a happier ending.
Back in the realm of completely legal catches, we have a Poliwag!
Throwing a Great Ball proves the best strategy. In that it works. Poliwag get! Its name is Oak.
In other, trainer-related news, Sap hits 34 and learns Acid Armor.
We have also cleared out the section of trainers that is not Saffron and not Cycling Road that comes pre-Koga. Naisu.
-time passes-
So, post-Cycling Road, Trunk is level 41, Bark is level 42, Sap is 35, Oak is 37, and Acorn is 40. I think what makes the most sense in terms of safety is to go clear out the Silph building, then deal with the dojo and assorted Gyms.
Unfortunately.
I hate Silph Co.
So, so deeply.
Deep breath time.
Oh, wait, I want Oak to have Surf first. Never mind, we can still delay this party!
Let’s do it.
Hey, and while we’re at it, we have a chance at a Parasect!
-gasp-
We caught it!
Its name is Oak.
I don’t remember if it was me or someone I knew, but as a child, I have distinct memories of the timer flat-lining just a handful of squares away from talking to this guy. It filled me with enough sadness that I think maybe I was the one having the issues.
The Safari Zone is a lot harder when you have no idea what you’re supposed to do or where you’re meant to go.
Oak learns Surf!
We also give the Warden his teeth back, so Strength get.
I’m gonna see about catching a Route 19 thing. Due to it being something I can do that doesn’t involve the Silph building.
Yes, a Krabby. As we learned from Heero’s run, they make for excellent HM slaves.
Caught!
Its name is Oak. Sadly, I think it will be replacing Oak in the party.
Sigh.
I think we’re. back to the sad part.
(Route 17 option: Doduo. Status: caught. Name: Oak.)
UGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH.
Granted, it’s much easier without having to record every single fight, but the memories of the most recent time I did this are harsh and painful and I don’t like them.
Several floors later, yeah okay, this isn’t so bad.
I still hate it.
However, I can safely say I know who the best character in the Pokemon multiverse is.
Best. Girl.
She’s on floor 9, future self. Sorry about your life.
Because there are so many vitamins hidden around the building, I’m starting to really panic about how my team is going to handle the final parts of the game. I of course love all my children equally, but losing the first team was rough, and I can’t imagine that I’ll continue to engage with my pokemon on any level if things consistently fall to pieces in the very last sequences.
In a funny way, I think the EV training I’m softly tripping through might be hampering things a little. The balance is more sideways than my usual in-game teams have, because I’m focusing a lot on who’s fighting what. There are no random bursts of Defense being distributed, for instance. Oak is the closest to balance, and that’s because Oak had to do most everything before we had a real team (no offense buddy, you rock).
I don’t know. I’m paranoid. Things did not go well with Heero and friends. I think I want to invest in some of the X [stat] items, you know, like the way of the speedrunner, but the way I usually play these games involves brute force.
Full stop.
I can’t repeat enough how little I enjoy thinking in my video games.
But what that means is that I’m not used to using X items. And spending a turn on something I haven’t spent years of background noise thinking about could have disastrous consequences.
The disaster is something I fear. Clearly.
Sigh. There’s not helping it right now, so. Silph.
LOOK MAN, CONSIDERING THE NUMBER OF TRAINERS I HAD TO BEAT TO GET UP HERE
I kind of love that your Rival doesn’t appear to do anything at all about Team Rocket. He just shows up because hey, Red will be doing the hero stuff over there! Time to throw down!
Then he loses and just goes back to worrying about his League quest.
He’s almost like a real ten-year-old.
Acorn thank you for existing.
Wait. Crap, what deals with the Venusaur? Did I decide to just throw Trunk at that? Because that’s what I’m doing?
Yeah, fine, that works.
I got a Lapras.
Its name is Oak.
Sprinkle, I miss you.
Oh whoops. Acorn’s still in front. I don’t think I want that.
Kangaskhan without a Fighting Type is weird. Not a problem weird, because yay, Trunk exists. But weird. I keep expecting to have something super effective against it.
One Master Ball for me. Yay.
Now off to the dojo.
Where I’m going to try not to get Sap killed by letting him have this fight for great exp. I trust Sap’s moves. I trust the concept of their usefulness. Then I see critical hits and tragedy everywhere.
Sap.
Do not die.
Does my hat look black to you.
Level 37 Hitmonlee.
You know. I have the post that says this involves a level 37 Hitmonlee open in another tab. And yet. This still comes as a horrible shock and my brain is already playing taps for Sap.
!
The pain of one Hi Jump Kick. Not bad. I think we might make it, little guy.
We won!
And no one died!
Yay!
I guess that means it’s time for Koga.
Boo. But we’ll let Trunk punch through. Maybe with Bark, too.
Or Oak can eat a Kadabra. That works.
Trunk makes it through all the pre-Koga peeps with little trouble, and we move on to the man himself.
-gasp-
Awesome. More awesome is how everyone’s still alive. Oh happy day before we go forth and fight Sabrina.
Toxic get.
Trunk is level 46, as seen above. Bark is 44. Acorn is 42. Oak is 41. Sap is 37.
Oak’s job is to eat Sabrina. With any luck, Oak will continue to be a help with Blaine, though Bark and Sap will want some of that sweet exp too.
...Basically, what this all means is that I’ve stopped worrying about most of what’s going on with my team. I’m now just watching the levels and letting my dread run the show.
Dread and Oak. The dream team. Oak’s hit 44. I have faith.
.....Ooookay things are going awry because a Calm Minded Alakazam packs a wallop with Psychic, so I’m switching in Acorn under the assumption that he can survive one Psychic and will outspeed the thing.
Pictures taken just before disaster, fyi.
Houston, we have a problem.
Trunk wraps things up.
But. Uh.
Gyarados damage control is gone.
Acorn is gone.
What even is life without Acorn.
That critical hit would have been the end of Oak. Your oldest friend. I know we both wanted things to go differently, but I’m sure you understand why this is the end result.
I will miss you.
So much.
The lack of your warm presence will be a loss for us all.
I also no longer have something on my team with Thunderbolt, so. The script is no longer clear. I guess I can be less worried about levels, but. This right here might be the end of this round.
With a heavy heart, we head to the oceans where Acorn should have reigned supreme.
And stop Sap from evolving so he can learn Sludge Bomb at 43. Hopefully doing that won’t lead to another unfortunate accident, but if it does happen, I’m sadly resigned to it.
I don’t know how many times Sap has hurt himself in confusion in this fight, but it’s too many.
Then the Tentacruel comes in when this is finally over, and Sap hurts himself in confusion.
Yeah.
Sap’s just eating every single confusion problem of the entire run. He’s taking it all for himself.
But. we. get. through. it. As a family.
Hit Route 20, and now I have a level 8 Tentacool. Its name is Oak.
Supersonic is hitting everything and it is absolutely miserable.
Seafoam Island gives us.... Golbat! Apparently we already had a Zubat, so whoops, but in any case, its name is Oak. And needs to be moved from the D E A D box because whoops.
Does Oak want to learn Fly and help greatly with things not being awful?
Boy howdy do I.
And I am at 30 pokemon in my Pokedex, so it’s time for me to go grab my Itemfinder and Leftovers.
...Oh. Golbat doesn’t learn Fly. Well fine then. Another Oak will help me.
After all.
He is
Oak’s Aide.
Got one Leftovers. Two Leftovers. Awesome.
-many minutes later-
Sap gets Sludge Bomb! Do you know what that means?
Sap! We’ve done it! We’ve kept you alive! You’ve made it through your trying times as a Grimer!
Now let’s go into that non-haunted mansion that makes up most of Blaine’s island’s real estate.
I’m just going to shove Bark in front and. idk. I don’t know what I’m doing anymore. I’m just waiting for Victory Road, the day of reckoning, and. Maybe better than last time.
Growlithe caught in the mansion. Its name is Oak.
Secret Key get.
Blaine, why must you be so sketchy.
Okay, so for this Gym, I think I’ll be using Sap more than expected. Bark and Oak will deal with a lot of Giovanni, because they don’t have to worry about Ground really causing an extra problem. That makes this a better place for Trunk and Sap to level up. Agreed?
Yeah sure, whatever.
I guess the other thing to consider is if Bark will really be a help in this endeavor.
She’s very, very fast, and will learn Earthquake naturally. But she can’t take a hit, and with the loss of Acorn, I’m thinking what I have to do is just have Trunk, Oak, and Sap tank everything; lots of X items, lots of Full Restores.
Most of the time, Bark can’t afford to take a second hit of anything.
If I really want to optimize, Cutting down to three out of my four might be the better call.
Ugh, that’s such a dangerous number, though.
Sap has an amazing move set. I really could just...
Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha, Lance, Rival.
Trunk could probably handle Lorelei. Sap could do the Fighting half of Bruno, and the other half isn’t really a problem. The plan with Agatha was always to teach Po Shadow Ball, but then Zaft needed Thunderbolt, so I couldn’t afford it. Lance is hell, but not one a Dugtrio is likely to improve by much.
I have no idea what to do for Oak.
But if I can set Sap up, a lot of problems become manageable. I can’t brute force this. I keep saying that, and I keep ignoring it because that’s not how I play these games. I need better strategies. Bark’s Attack stat isn’t up to being a glass cannon. She’s a glass rifle, maybe. Fantastic, but eating up resources without serving an extra purpose. She’ll be just as dead in two hits if I keep on giving her exp. Leveling could remove that weakness, but I don’t have anything to work with there.
I have to focus on three.
Damn it.
For now, let’s finish Blaine, shall we.
Got the badge.
Bill Gaiden?
So he says.
So ends the post, because I just can’t.
