I made a uquiz for what kind of magic would come naturally to you in the aRoIiS universe!

I remember taking a LOT of these back in the day, so I thought I'd make one of my own, now that it's having it's renaissance thanks to @icerosesummerbracket

[OOC: okay, so basically what I was trying to do here was introduce a basic concept for a magic system via uquiz. My idea was that similar to the four phlegm based temperaments, in this universe everyone could have element based temperaments. Anyone can practice any type of magic, but based on your temperament(s), some come more naturally, and some are so hard, they're simply not worth the effort. I also had the revolutionary idea, that doing magic (brace yourselves) could actually be Quite Hard and Exhausting, so the closer the nature of the magic is to your innate temperament, the easier time you'll have with it. If anyone has any other ideas for this, PLEASE tell me. The names for the different subtypes of magic could also use some work. My spelling probably sucks, so excuse that please. Being reminded of aroiis has put me in an artistic mood apparently! So have some more fanart, this time of a scene that slapped me HARD like holy shit. The moth landing on her before Radiance appeared? The way her presence was described? Holy shiiiiiiiiiiit.

@icerosesummerbracket unlocked some childhood memories for me so i decided to draw something, of course it ended up being Etienne. love me some morally grey women <3

pic 1 is meant to be her first appearance - gotta love how she was in the light but backlit, y'know, foreshadowing that she wasn't going to be all bad. (light = evil in aroiis)

And pic 2 is of course the iconic masquerade scene. Though I know the design is not exactly correct, because the protagonists couldn't tell it was her until she spoke, but... uh, I claim rule of cool! (esp for blue rose earring: she wouldn't wear something so clearly affiliating her with Rose at this point in the series, but I put it in as a symbol, since this is the first time she helps Rose&co on purpose)

The @icerosesummerbracket has dragged me back into ARoIiS, so I spent all day drawing art of my absolute favorite, Currant!

I was inspired by some of the hc designs I've seen in the fandom lately for both him and Etienne, but I really wanted to lean into the ARoIiS themes of light vs. dark with his outfit. Though I fear I might have leaned into them TOO much lmao. But I do enjoy the space/star aesthetic, so it's fine with me, just consider it an artistic liberty. I definitely did not know how to depict his magic tho lol.

Also! I wanted to give him lots of blue so he and Etienne could be a red-blue sibling duo :D

I do headcanon Currant as trans :) I mean, have you ever noticed how ARoIiS uses similar words to describe him and Etienne, but in a different light? (pun intended) You CANNOT tell me they aren't identical twins. And you know what that means! One of them has to be trans. I'm convinced Etienne did his top surgery somehow, and you cannot change my mind idc idc.

Honestly at this point I would take a spin-off that's just about Currant and Etienne, exploring their origins, their rocky relationship, and how they ended up taking different paths in life. That would be cool to see.

Also, how about both a Currantsweep and an Etiennesweep, so they can both face off each other in the finals, for further family drama? I know it's not gonna happen but I can dream ❤️

My headcanon design for Lily after their post-Radiance kidnap recovery arc! :) I tried to focus on practicality, so the upper cloak, armorwear, and belts are magneted to stay together; I don't remember whether it was necessarily Lily who used magnets on their outer clothing or not, but I remember someone did, so I call fair game, fjksjsjd. I also tried to focus a bit on the dissociation and intensification of the red + yellow from their light orange after their arc for the symbolism

Tempted to try and draw all the aroiis characters, major and minor, in this style. May be biting off more than I can chew

hey what's up everyone @icerosesummerbracket has gotten me obsessed again with a series i hadn't thought about for almost a DECADE, so, as the first post of this AROIIS sideblog, I used this picrew to make some of my FAVES... in order, Rose, Kivan, Chance, Etienne, and Currant!! sorry abt the picrew not having an eyepatch or anything similar for Rose. i hc Etienne and Currant as sharing pronouns in turns just like how they would share clothes if they had a more similar fashion sense, btw, if u even care. also i know Chance has purple hair for most of the series but i love ALL their hair colors equally and i chose the peachy pink one.

"Doomed by the narrative" is sexy and all but i think the narrative wanting to save a character who is utterly set on dooming themselves isnt as much of a thing and it's so good as a concept

As a disclaimer, it's been years since I read the books, so this might be wildly inaccurate in places, idk, but I think I got the general vibes down! I feel like it ended up leaning more towards Etienne than Currant, haha, but it's still focused on their dynamic rather than just Etienne's personality or relationship with other chraracters. So I hope I managed to capture that!

I also really wanted to add Yin Yang from the Persona 4 anime but it's not in spotify so just imagine it's there :c
