She still loathes what she let him do, what she did for them; instead of culling her guilt, it only increased it tenfold. She is so tired of fighting, because the cost is no longer her; everyone who tries to pull her out gets sucked in as well. Her hope is so tattered at the end that she walks towards death with her people following and her brother's hand in hers. She smiles at the end, still fighting, still hoping that she can protect at least one of the people she cared for. How can one person carry all that and not buckle under its weight? Just. She!!!

At some point after he goes to Carp Tower to turn himself in with Wen Qing he snaps and kills a bunch of people. JGS uses it as an excuse to attack the burial mounds after previously promising that so long as Wen Qing and Wen Ning turn themselves in he'd leave them alone.

5. For the next fic finder, I’ve been trying to find a fic where LWJ, LXC, and WWX are cats. LQR owns a tea house where LWJ and LXC are free to roam while WWX is a stray at the Jiangs’ shelter. Well one day WWX kind of breaks into the shop and continues to do so until LWJ likes him (I think that’s the order of events). When LQR gets the Jiangs to keep WWX away, LWJ starts getting sad without him. I think it ends with LQR basically adopting WWX since the Jiangs were going to have to put him down. I hope this all makes sense. Thanks for all of the help!

7. Hi! I’ve been looking for a specific fic for days now and I feel like I’m going crazy (ಥ﹏ಥ) if you could help I’d really appreciate it!

Details:

• it’s modern with cultivation, or some sort of tech magic. Still a work in progress from what I remember.

• wwx gets resurrected into a robot, and it specifically lights up with little emoticon faces while his voice is monotone. He doesn’t look like a human, I think he controls some sort of army bot??

• instead of Demonic cultivation I think it was some sort of technological cultivation?? Or an implant that could control the Androids and robots in the city. I’m sure an implant was mentioned though no flashback was shown.

• he meets the juniors and lwj, and spends some time running around in the first chapter I think.

• Lwj does take him to reunite with the Wen remnants which actually survived, and he’s offered to get an Android body later on (doesn’t happen in the fix yet).

• spoilers here but from what I remember the last updated chapter had him losing control and being commanded by Xue Yang to hurt (or strangle?) LWJ. During the fic’s version of the coffin city arc.

14. Hiii! From what I remember, the fic I'm looking for has a setting where there is an emperor outside of the cultivation world, and he doesn't really care much about them until the war breaks out.

In this fic, WWX was never adopted by the Jiangs. I think he taught himself how to read and write and then gave the imperial exam, and became a government official. (The next detail may be wrong or mixed up with another fic) after he taught himself to read and write at a young age, he started to write 'illegal' or 'banned' books for an elderly man for income, the man was actually very rude to him at first.

Later, he became a government official and quickly rose through the ranks to become a favourite of the emperor. The emperor sends him to the cultivation world to settle everything after the war, he wears a mask during this time.

I'm not sure if he had a golden core or not, or if he used demonic cultivation, but the cultivation world knew him as a non-cultivator, just a very good scholar. I remember LWJ started to like him cuz of WWX helped the war/rebuilding effort even as a non-cultivator.

I thought it was Dispersing Clouds because it's genius WWX who creates powerful wards and many talisman, and also involves him taking over previous Jiang land/estates to help the Wen remnants. However DC explicitly says there will be no WQ or WN, and they were definitely in the fic I remember. For awhile they have to share a house with WWX and LWJ while new are built and WQ and WN tease them over their marital activities.

WWX uses wealth from his inventions to hire builders and make a village, and they live within the powerful wards and build throughout winter. A) First one is a time travel au where modern time wwx goes to the past to canon time and meets lwj. The time travel scene was like wwx going home from a night grocery shopping and when he took a turn he was at the steps of Cloud Recesses. Lwj doesn't know him because they hadn't met in that time (because canon wwx died before the study arc) but they get closer and lwj invites wwx to jin ling's 100 days celebration where jyl and jc recognize wwx and I think wwx has a panic attack? Because jyl died in his time. Anway it turns out that he can go back but lwj decides to go with him and they travel from modern to canon time like every year and stay 1 year there.

B) The other one is a modern a/b/o au in which the lans are rich, lwj is an alpha who has been in love with wwx for years. Wwx kept it a secret that he is an omega but lwj gets an anonymous message with a video in which turns out wwx is an omega. Before this all happened wwx had a streaming/youtuber career that he stopped when their house got burned down, jfm and yzy dead, and jyl got into a coma. Anyway somewhat later they get into an arranged marriage initiated by wwx to save jc's and lwj spoils him, but wwx has a stroke as well I think? And later it turns out the wens were behind the falling of the jiangs and the death of jfm an yzy. Wangxian also get married when wwx is in the hospital because of the stroke and later they have 2 kids.

hey do you know that one plotline in violet evergarden where the dying mom leaves letters to her kid spanning the kid's birthdays for the next 50 hears ?

work with me here.

in another AU, yllz!wei wuxian knows he's not really going to make it. the others know too. theyre all running on borrowed time. but they all agree that a-yuan should at least live. so all of them (wwx, wen qing, all the wen remnants) got together one night and write letters to a-yuan for him to open on his birthdays for the next 50 years in case they never do make it.

they hand the qiankun pouch with all the letters to wen ning. their plan in case all goes to shit is to give a-yuan to wen ning and for the two of them to escape as far as possible while wwx sets himself up as one final bait. wen ning doesnt like this last resort. no one does. but theyre all running out of time.

in this AU, things go a little differently. there is no ambush at qiongqi pass because there is no yllz traveling to give jin ling his gift. instead, wwx got lwj to hand the gift over to jin ling to avoid bringing chaos to such an auspicious event. jzx and jyl live.

there is no nightless city massacre because wwx isnt there to get the wen siblings because the wen siblings havent given themselves up. everyone is far too busy preparing a-yuan's escape.

that doesnt stop the sects from besieging the burial mounds though. they want the yllz gone, you best believe they will find other reasons to justify the siege.

a miracle happens though. by some stroke of luck, wen qing survives with a-yuan and she gets to escape with him and wen ning. wwx still dies but his death is enough to give the wen sibs and a-yuan time to escape.

so a-yuan grows up in some obscure fishing village so far removed from the great sect territories that not even lwj has passed by the place. all three of them are under new names. they make a living as the village's only healers. nobody talks about wen ning being a fierce corpse because he really isnt any danger to them. in fact, he's the favourite grandchild of all the elders (after a-yuan of course)

a-yuan grows up with just his qing-jiejie and ning-gege physically, but he has a stack of letters from his departed loved ones waiting for him for each of his birthdays, each of his milestones. his favourites are always from his xian-gege, pages upon pages of wwx rambling to him every birthday. maybe wwx snuck in some cultivation tips and tricks there. maybe there are a couple of sketches and drawings too. sketches of their family, sketches of their old home. one sketch of lwj.

a-yuan's family may have been shaved down to just the three of them but the others' spirits remain with them always.

a-yuan grows well. he's a healer, but he's also a cultivator. one wandering cultivator (maybe another incognito baoshan sanren disicple?) had given him a sword and a couple of manuals.

"you're a promising one, kid. unfortunate that you're so far away from the nearest cultivation centers, but these should be of help"

so thats their life now. quiet, peaceful.

theyre so far away from the great sect's world that they dont even hear about anything happening over there until months have passed since.

until one day, something compels wen ning to travel as fast as he can to a certain direction.

What debts? The two were from a sect that decimated his own. Be it willingly or not, they occupied the burned remains of his sect and helped the war effort on the Wen side (whilst assisting WWX and JC, but bear in mind, WQ only did it begrudgingly due to the risks associated with asissiting them. It's funny that y'all would jump to her defence whilst shitting on JC when she was in the exact same position he was in btw. But that's a debate for another day~).

Expecting him to pay a debt to the people that were, to at least some degree, complicit in numerous genocides is pretty messed up.

Even then, JC DID vouch for them to express his gratitude for helping him and WWX to escape and get their parent's remains back. But the other leaders shut him down when he did and scoffed at him. I feel like I've said this so many times on here, but he was in no position to argue any further on the matter. Especially when a more established sect leader like LXC was shut down, too.

WQ and WWX, although both had good intentions, still had no right to experiment on him like that and keep this very invasive secret from him for so long, too. You can't just do something for someone without them knowing or consenting and expect them to repay that "debt" when you find yourself in a pinch. That's kinda like blackmail and is very coercive.. Something WWX and the Wen sibs are certainly not..

Then there's the situation with WN. Sure, he could be thankful for WN helping to get him to safety and treating his wounds (which, see my earlier point, JC did express gratitude.) But that opportunity kinda all fizzled out when WN killed JZX (I know it was an accident due to him being under the influence of DC but let's be real. That resentment is going to be there. Espeically since the topic greatly upsets JL soooo).

Even all that aside, you seriously can't expect JC to "repay his debts" and help WN and WQ out of that situation when the whole CW was against them. Helping them was suicidal and would bring on the wrath of the other major sects. And we all saw how that went for WWX (as JC rightly predicted)..

Had JC sided with the Wens and took them in to "pay his debts," he would have dragged the whole of his sect into the siege that happened soon after. This would mean more innocents would have been involved, and it would be the destruction of Lotus Pier all over again (and quite possibly the destruction of the Jiang, too). JC had to prioritise his own people. He would be a shit leader otherwise.

I feel as though some of y'all put some unrealistic expectations on JC when assessing his character. Especially when you compare him to the others in the story (returning back to my point I made earlier about him and WQ and how similar they both are).

On the topic of "debts" though, I would also like to argue that doing a good deed out of the kindness of your heart shouldn't be seen as a debt. And if you do something with the expectation that someone would do something for you back in kind, wouldn't that make you a shitty person? Is that what you're implying the Wen sibs are (or should be) ? Self-serving people who only help others if something is to be gained? 🤨

But what about the "debt" JC goes on about, you might ask? Oh, you mean the PROMISE that WWX made HIMSELF? That he would stay by JC's side? And be his subordinate? To fulfil his role as promised and expected of him?

That wasn't a debt.

WWX construed it as being one, but it doesn't fit the criteria, honestly. What WWX had was an obligation. He made that promise himself, and JC held him to it. It wasn't one JC forced him into as some form of servitiude, nor was it made in return for bed and board or something.

We know JC isn't truly about holding debts over others. If he was, he would have dangled his own sacrifice over WWX and used that to guilt trip him instead. Or force him to pay him back in kind. But he never did. Why? Because he loved WWX, and he didn't want him to feel "indebted" to him. Especially when WWX revealed his feelings of "letting go and moving on" to him.

You could go on forever about debts and who owes who what, but the thing is, each of these characters have hurt eachother in one way or another that at this point, the notion of who owes what doesn't matter anymore. The situation is far more complex than that. That's why all "debts" were dropped at the end, and JC and WWX just moved on. I feel that was the message MXTX tried to convey in her work. About moving on and letting go of grudges. Perhaps JC antis should take on that advice? And move on too?

so a while back @justkeeptrekkin and I were discussing potential ideas for what a sequel to their amazing xiyao spy AU Beg, Bite, Kiss might look like, and since it's unlikely to get written now I thought I'd share some... I guess you could call it concept art!

essentially, the three eldest Jin sibs would team up to rescue their newly-discovered little brother Xuanyu from the clutches of the remains of the Wen corporation, who want to use his DNA to access the dangerous experimental tech in the Jin vault! it's very much a "retired spies come back for one last job and this time it's personal" situation.

Ok ok so I've been seeing a lot of "discussions" about JC not consenting to the core transfer. Bruh was literally slowly killing himself after losing his core by neglecting his health, starving etc. He thought mundane life wasn't worth living unless he could cultivate. What else could WWX do when his sect leader's final wish was to keep his son safe. WWX knew how JC was, he wouldn't survive being a normie he'd kill himself. So he and the very reluctant Wen sibs devised a plan to "restore" his core and when he was told about it he instantly perked up and started to eat

Bruh had no problem going along with this plan as long he got his core back. Bruh didn't even stop for a second to question the legitity of this miracle cure as long as it benefited him

Even if he had known about the plan and refused the transfer, would he keep on living peacefully as a normie? Doubt it. Who would take the reign of Lotus Pier then? And if he had known and reluctantly accepted the transfer, he'd still say it's for the good of the clan, as its leader. And WWX owed it to the Jiangs as the ones who took him in. Would he still keep the coreless, not demonic WWX by his side? As the right hand man like he always envisioned? Somehow I really doubt it. Coreless = useless to him

Bruh would justify it one way or another. He wouldn't have known about if WN hadn't blabbed but who could blame him? Face to face with that unreasonable furnace of a man he needed to shut him up because sure, everything was WWX's fault. Even his sheer survival was WWX's fault

Like, bruh. Dude's been dead for a decade plus, and his soul was forcefully called back (WWX did absolutely not consent to that since ppl be talking about consent) he no longer owed you anything
