Also, Wei Ying also repaid his debt to Jiangs clan by being the only one who lived up to Jiangs clan's motto and found value in those value from his former clan...
But of course being an obedient slave with no moral and value from his own clan is definitely the best way to repay the debts and perform filial duty to the clan that took you in.

I have been laughing at the Stay by my Side BTS for hours. Waji ( Bu Xia) is unhinged and athletic (pro dancer) and Isaac ( Jiang Chi) is shyer but doesn’t know how to back down from the shenanigans.

Oh No! Here Comes Trouble
Tumblr media
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2024
Oh No! Here Comes Trouble (2023, Taiwan)
Director, Writer & Creator: Lin Kuan Hui
Mini-review:
I don't know why I put off watching this for so long, cause it's really good. It includes so much stuff that I love: laugh-out-loud comedy, heartbreaking stories, supernatural elements and, most of all, a bunch of characters that burrow their way into your heart. The dynamic they share, specially between Yiyong and Guangyan, is incredibly fun. I feel like I could spend hours and hours watching them doing whatever together. And that's exactly what puts this drama miles ahead of other similarly supernatural-themed stories: the character writing is so damn good that you don't even care about the show's flaws, like the weak CGI. It certainly helps that the entire cast does a fantastic job, with Tseng Jing Hua giving a particularly unforgettable perfomance as the main character. Oh No! Here Comes Trouble is exactly what I needed right now, and I hope we get to see these characters again in the future.

Revisiting one of my favorite films of all time.
Ang Lee’s “Lust, Caution” starring the great Tony Leung Chiu-wai and then neophyte actress Tang Wei is a complex, dark and ultimately painful story to watch. It begins with lies and deceit and though the protagonists discover deep love underneath all of it, they both know their love won’t survive the consequences of all that they have done. They both become victims of their causes, and the roles they have to play in their society.
Anyone who wants a story of great emotional depth and beauty would certainly love this film. However, you’ll either love it or hate it. I don’t think there’s any in-between when it comes to this film. Either way, I think you’ll have a visceral reaction it.
This film made me fall in awe over the greatness that is Tony Leung and the sheer raw talent of Tang Wei. They enfleshed and embodied their characters so well that their real personas disappeared. For lesser actors, this would be difficult especially if you’re already well-known and well-established in the industry. At least at the time, in the case of Tang Wei, she was new to the business. This was her first major project. She didn’t have the burden of previous works and popularity to deal with.
Tony Leung had all that “baggage” yet he still managed to pull off an amazing performance as the unscrupulous and ruthless Mr. Yee. I couldn’t see anyone else but him portraying this controversial character. And his chemistry with Tang Wei as the college student/spy Wong Chia-chi was amazing.
Tang Wei’s Wong Chia-chi was brilliant. She had the right amount of guilelessness and charm to make you think she’s sweet, harmless and ignorant. Yet she manages to transform Wong Chia-chi into the sultry seductress so completely that there’s no question on Mr. Yee being totally ensnared.
This film left me shaken and traumatized, not because of the graphic nudity and sex scenes, but more because of the intense emotions between Mr. Yee and Wong Chia-chi and the immense sadness and tragedy of their doomed love.
I’ve only ever watched it in full once, from start to finish, but I rewatch clips from time to time. I also sometimes listen to the beautiful soundtrack that perfectly mirrors their painful romance. I don’t think I can handle watching this film completely all over again without being affected.

Why was she so stubborn? Why did she always make harsh decisions and then stick to them even when they weren’t necessarily good for her? Momo knew the answer all too well: her obstinacy preserved her autonomy. In her short life, too many important decisions had already been made for her by someone else. Even irrational decisions. She’d rather make a poor decision for herself, acting on her own desires, than have it be made by someone else.
