Hi- saw your post about the sci-fi authors. Need to something to read through when itâs slow at work, anything youâd recommend specifically?
sure thing: check out all systems red by martha wells for something fun, fast-paced and addictive, or perhaps this is how you lose the time war by max gladstone and amal el-mohtar for something lyrical, dreamlike and romantic!
or, if you wanna try something more classic, you can't go wrong with the left hand of darkness by ursula k. le guin (slow, reflective, sharply intelligent) or dawn by octavia butler (dark, thought-provoking, compellingly disquieting)
#these are my general go-to/kinda intro-to-scifi recommendations!#but if these aren't to ur tastes i have more up my sleeve :]#books

Hi! If I may, a couple more recs for your anon who likes robot / ai and mystery plots, because I also love that stuff (and I am going to look into your recs!!)
- Mindwalker and Mindbreaker by Kate Dylan. They are YA set in a post apocalyptic world dominated by Big Tech: the first book is about a girl with a AI installed in her brain, the second about a girl whose whole body has been replaced with a robotic one. They are action packed with plenty of plot twists.
- Locked In by John Scalzi (and its sequel): this is so funny AND a legit murder mystery. Itâs set in a future where a lot people throughout the world developed locked-in syndrome and tech was developed to allow them to inhabit robotic bodies. The protagonist is a locked-in guy who ends up assisting police in their investigations.
@ other anon!
#i haven't read either but i've seen a panel kate dylan was part of#her vibe was great and the way she talked abt her books did sound pretty interesting!#locked in is on my tbr also :) it sounds fun
