Idk if you’re friends or friendly with Romance Dream, but I would suggest telling her to cool it on the posts. She’s making a fool of herself and misrepresenting Percy fans :/

I'm not anyone's babysitter.

I've already mentioned in a reblog or two that I do not approve of her RPFing, and to tone down the language when talking about Wenclair. I don't like it when she goes and uses negative judgemental language like "disgusting" when it comes to the ship itself.

What is disgusting is the insane objectification and projection going on with the Wenclairs. It's a behavioral issue, not an inherent "this ship is {insert whatever negativity you've seen/heard}".

Whenever someone says that the ship itself is disgusting, I have said that it isn't. LGBTQIA+ ships aren't disgusting. If I thought they were disgusting I would not write the Nightshade ladies in as I have (Tanaclay, Yokovina). Or write Moira!Chancellor/Larissa Weems (I started the 🔥, almost trans-centric post-Walker Wake deleted scene, it's in my files along with an unfinished Pink Bubblegum (Donovan/Wednesday/Enid) AU fuckfest...I haven't finished either because I'm just too busy with 8, Miller's Girl Universe stuff, and other non-fandom writings). Even ABW getting railed by Donovan while at the same time psychically experiencing a male orgasm counts as queer.

But I digress.

Again, I'm not her babysitter, and no one has any obligation to listen to someone you are just acquaintances with (I would only call people whose faces I've seen in long chats over multiple weeks/months "close"), but it would be nice if those who weren't Wenclair would be reasonable and not behave like a fucking homophobe who hates the ship "because they're gay", just as the more psychotic Wenclair people should back the fuck off when it comes to Ortega herself and her friends and co-workers. Bitches are already complaining about "the age gap" between her and Glen Powell under this post:

The 🏳️‍🌈 are just pissy that she's swapping spit with cis males (and probably loves dick, just like her buddy Sabrina C.). They'll never fucking let up until she cuts all of the fans off for real (which she basically has, by avoiding all social media save for IG). Or until they make her job unbearable because she can't pretend to fuck men as part of her job.

I played a gay ass trans man on screen (yeah, I'm on IMDB 💩). I'm not gay. It was called ACTING.

There is such a dearth of reason and reasonable people in this damnable fandom. I'd say that most of the people in this fandom are kids whose brains haven't settled yet, but then again, I came across someone who's in their goddamn 30s who can't grasp simple concepts. The infantilizing of our youth/young adults is nearly complete.

ETA: While editing this post, I glimpsed at one of her later posts and comments. Does this work for you? FTR I didn't do it for anyone, I did this because it pissed me off when I read it.

Also FTR, I supported Trio Sandwich (Harry/Hermione/Ron), Drarry, Dramione, Snamione, Wolfstar, Gin & Tonic, Lucmione, and Weasleycest. My ex wrote a gnarly McGonagall/Lucius short before. Neither of us cared WTF was written, so long as it was written well. I wrote the first shorts/drabbles for certain rare pairs that no one would touch. We all wrote something like that because there was no lacking in creativity with the Potter people.

Jesus, I never thought I would ever say this — given how shitty JKR is — but I miss when that fandom was a big fucking family where we had our Weird Uncle Johns/Aunt Janies (like me...people from Pornish Pixies and Parry Hotter on LiveJournal) but we still understood that fiction is fiction and that we all loved the same canon. That all went to fucking Hell once this place became popular for fandoms and people started behaving like the goddamn Warriors for Innocence.

i hate whenever artists just mind their own business, shipping a non canon ship and then the canon shippers come into the comments of their art “___ is canon!” as if the op doesn’t know that.

i hate how toxic fandoms eventually become

i’ve had enough of this. like people begin to argue with each other?? and put each other down?? for a fictional ship?? and this is not what the creators intended at all??

nobody is delusional or idiotic for shipping what they ship. telling someone their ship is invalid or your ship is better than theirs is like yelling at someone for liking a different ice cream flavor than you. telling someone their taste buds are picking up the flavor wrong. which makes no sense. so stop doing it with ships.

creators just want to make something beautiful people can enjoy, not spark all this hate thats happening. a fictional ship is literally not worth spending all that time hating on. like i see some people who respectfully tell other people why they don’t support the ship, but why would you tell someone their ship is “wrong”. if that’s their preference, that’s their preference.

why tf can’t we just live in peace and respect each others ships

is it really so hard to be nice to others? just enjoy the freaking show.

I like Wednesday, it's a pretty nice series

although there were a few moments that made me roll my eyes and sigh

but ultimately it was a pretty enjoyable teen show

these days we have fans and fandom for most shows

and like 90% of fandoms, the wednesday fandom has ship wars

ok everyone can like whatever ship they want

but I don't like it when people write that someone is bad because they like a certain ship and in a more or less visible way they tell you to like something else

(I'm not even going to start the Xavier thread)

What I mean is, people, don't attack others just because someone likes a different ship, it sucks

something that ticks me off is when shows about outcasts and weirdos fall into the hands of the most obnoxious mainstream normies

like, these characters will be super autistic and queer coded and these fans will get so pissed at you for pointing it out

you do shit that the main characters would absolutely do and they lose it

they fangirl over characters like eddie munson and wednesday addams, only to bully people EXACTLY like them

or if the character is noticeably poc(I say noticeably because wednesday addams is hispanic, but passes as white so everyone just ignores it) they absolutely trash on how annoying they are

the owl house fandom gets to me the most, I love that show to death, but GOD that fandom has gotten so unbearable as of late

Luz Noceda is the MAIN CHARACTER the whole narrative follows her. the story is about growing up “cringe”(neurodivergent) and these new owl house fans completely forget it, bullying people about their rarepairs and crossships and headcanons

like? willuz is not hurting anyone, they literally have chemistry, especially in season 1. I have been a fan of this show for YEARS. I LOVE lumity, adore it even, but shipping willuz isn’t being ungrateful or taking away from the representation we have

honestly they get so mad if you ship anything other than raeda and lumity and it’s so exhausting

not to mention there are homophobic and transphobic fans, how tf does that even happen? it’s like TERFS on tumblr, you’ve got the most trans, queer, and neurodiverse base and you pick that to spread your bullshit? how does that even work in their heads 💀

18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?

uhhhh okay this is a hard one but i think I'm going to have to go with Fez from Euphoria. i am completely enamored with him (and Lexi) but I can't ever seem to get him quite right, so I've never published anything for them. usually, when I'm starting to write for a new show/ship, I write a bunch of little snippets that never really see the light of day, and I word vomited a lot of those types of thoughts into my google doc folder. Fez has a very distinct voice, and that usually helps me find a character, but for some reason, I just wasn't able to. Every time i wrote something, it didn't feel quite right. I think this might also have to do with the fact that I haven't re-watched s2 of Euphoria in its entirety since it came out. watching Euphoria is kind of like…. emotionally draining, lmao.

19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?

ohh!! in terms of new pairings.... well, I'm finishing Wednesday right now, and I have a predisposition to a certain ship, so I'm thinking I might find a little inspiration there (but also… i think the fandom is vvveeeryyy split between the ships so we'll see). I also want to actually try to publish a Nancy/Ace fic next year!! I have one that's like 75% written, and we'll see if I can get it the rest of the way. oh - and I want to finish the spideychelle fic I've been working on since NWH came out. These are all lofty goals, lmao. other than that, with s3 Jiara and s4 Rina fast approaching.... I'm really, REALLY excited to see what kind of inspiration the new content might bring. next year is gonna be wild I'M SO EXCITED.

26. What’s your most common category?

i might be a dumbass ("might" lmao) but i confused myself about what category means so I'm just gonna take it to mean tag. my most common tag is JJ Maybank/Kiara Carrera (shocker), and I think other than that, I've used "so slow it's almost no burn" a couple times. i have a brand to maintain, people. other than that, the way i tag fics is completely and utterly unhinged so most of my tags are like "margaritas as a love language" or something equally useless that i only use once.

28. Favorite work you wrote this year?

i think my favorite might be turn it right around, even though it's not quite finished. i wrote it in a haze after s3. sometimes, I get this compulsive need to get a fic out of my system (if that sounds insane it's cause it is asdlkjfhasdkjf i get blinders on and i can't focus on another fic for so long). anyways, it's a very specific feeling and it's only happened with pltc, trun it right around, and one other fic that i never ended up publishing, but those are usually the ones that mean the most to me personally. plus, you know my love for circular plotlines and self-callbacks, and I really let myself lean into that again in this fic, especially in the last chapter. there are parts of it I am very excited about aksdjfhlksjdf

Why is it that some fandoms get hostile and oddly aggressive, and others have fans of different ships co-existing peacefully or even more, supporting one another?

I watched Wednesday a while back, and it's great, but the fandom seems to be all at war over ships. Never been part of ship wars, so I fundamentally don't understand the reasoning behind telling other people "you cannot play with these characters in your head, only my preferred pair is the right one".

Does it happen to fandoms with younger fans, more?

I think what pisses me off most about the Wednesday fandom is that so many are intentionally ignoring the fact that Tyler is MEANT to be a tragic character because he is a Hyde. We basically have it beaten over our heads that Hydes are the outcasts of outcasts, deemed too difficult to help, and therefore abandoned and left to their own devices, basically giving them no way to NOT be tortured into being someone’s slave or ultimately having something tragic or awful happen to them that forces out their Hyde and leaving them to become a monster and/or get killed.

So many people blame Tyler for every bad thing that happened in this first season when he LITERALLY had no option but to do exactly as Laurel wished. He was TOLD to go murder the people he murdered, he was TOLD to get Wednesday to trust him, he was TOLD to go after Eugene, he had no CHOICE but to obey, it’s literally in the show’s lore. And we are both told AND shown what lengths Laurel went to to literally torture this teenage boy into becoming a monster that was FORCED to obey her. Not only that, but all that “mama” talk and physical touch is gag-worthy. SHE is the true monster who wanted everyone dead, and she ruined that boy’s life to try and get what she wanted. And the show INTENTIONALLY shows AND tells you all that.

We are SHOWN how Tyler was chained, beaten, poisoned to bring the Hyde out, to become Laurel’s perfect slave. And still so many see HIM as the “true villain,” stating that if he was truly “good” he never would’ve done all he did. Meanwhile the lore has TOLD you, Hydes have no choice. But WAY too many disregard this plot point entirely simply because they see it as something to cling to for their preferred ship to happen. That’s infuriating to me, truly. Not only from a standpoint of really loving Tyler as a character, but also from a standpoint of it being apparent to ME of where the story is going, and knowing that so much of the fandom is gonna be pissed off about it because it’s Tyler-centric.

We are given so much information about “Hydes have been banned from Nevermore for 30 years,” “Faulkner was studying Hydes but he died before he could finish his research,” “nobody knows for sure if, once unlocked, Hydes are only monsters or if the person they were is still in there.” Between all this within the narrative itself and Hunter talking about how he’s excited to explore the duality of the Real Tyler versus the Hyde next season, I think it’s obvious that Wednesday and Tyler are basically going to get to the bottom of this “are Hydes all 100% bad and dangerous” problem themselves, and the result of their research will probably get Hydes accepted back into Nevermore.

Wednesday already knows how unjust the whole system is, she mentions it FREQUENTLY in the first season. Once she gets past feeling betrayed by what happened in season one, it’s likely going to weigh on her that someone she cared about deeply enough to bring her walls down for, to actually seek out to KISS, was so hurt by this system that he ended up doing all he did. And Tyler is inevitably returning, the writers have talked about how we’re going to learn more about Tyler and explore his true feelings for Wednesday. They’ll be brought back together, no doubt. And thus, the deep dive on Hydes will probably begin.

I don’t care what you ship, I don’t even care if you really LIKE Tyler as a character, but I DO care that so many have made him out to be a pure villain simply because that suits their own personal narrative better, and makes them feel like it’s more likely their preferred ship will win the “war.” Like, try and WATCH a show, actually WATCH it, and not simply cling to bits and pieces that suit the storyline you’ve made up in your head. You’re SUPPOSED to hate LAUREL, you’re supposed to, at the very least, wonder if the Real Tyler is still in there, if he can be helped, and you are SUPPOSED to feel some pity for the boy who was forced into becoming an enslaved monster.

SW - ALL TYPES OF LOVE WEEK

Star Wars: All Types of Love week is a fandom event of fancreations, lasting a week, that celebrates love in its many forms! Since we celebrate romantic love and familial love often, we thought it might be time to give an opportunity for other kinds of love to shine!

Inspired by the Ancient Greek Philosophers and their seven kinds of love, we aim to showcase those different, less celebrated loves. Rooting for the little guys!

We welcome any kind of creation, as long as it is truly yours. Even old posts being reblogged is fine! Old creations deserve as much love as new ones.

Fanfics, fanarts, moodboards, fanvids, fancomics, banners, playlists… An epic fic or a 100 word drabble, an amazing painting or a stick figures funny scene- we love it all!!

WHAT TO POST

Star Wars characters, places, animals, games… Be it from the movies, the novels, the comics, the shows like The Clone Wars, The Mandalorian, Andor or even your own OC, the important parts are:

It must be from the Star Wars fandom

It must be about Love and that love must be not romantic or familial

To get a better idea of what we mean by that, you can read more about the seven types of love here. In short, we want to give a chance to shine to:

Love of Strangers #agape

Love of Partners #pragma

Love of Players #ludus

Love of Self #philautia

You can post about any of these, at any time of the week. There isn’t a day assigned to each type. The point is to create without pressure and celebrate all the types of love we don’t often focus on! The more of these you depict, the more we will love you for it!

QUESTIONS

“I love my two clones who are bffs, but they are clones. Does their love count as familial?”

Well, the truth rather depends on your point of view how you present it.

Pairs like Fives and Echo, and Rex and Cody, are usually understood in canon and fandom to be family. They can be friends too, but we’d prefer to focus on other pairs for this event. Post another time. We’re sure people will love it.

Alpha-17 and Cody have a cross-generational friendship? As long as the way their relationship is described/shown isn’t the dynamic of big brother & younger brother, or father figure & son figure, it’s good!

Want to show off Waxer & Boil being two peas in a pod? We would love that! As long as it isn’t a ship or they, the characters, don’t feel like the other is kin in the way we understand it.

“I want to show my two Mandalorians who are Partners In Bounty Hunting, but they are from the same clan. Does this work?”

No. I’m sorry, but it does not. We consider clan to be the SW equivalent of immediate family, a close circle, so it’s not the right event for this. But it does work if they are just from the same house or faction!

“Can I do two Jedi who are teammates and lovers?”

You can show any characters (two, three, four…) having a relationship that is sexual and based on love. As long as that love is not romantic.

If what moves your Jedi is the sense of purpose found in duty, the common love for the Light and the wider galaxy, the playfulness and affection shared between bed partners, these feelings can be as big as the moon, and it is still fine!

That is the whole point!

Feelings can be enormous and serious and important and still not be romantic or familial.

But if it’s shown or implied that the relationship is romantic/familial or turning so at some point, that is not what our event is focused on.

We know people are a bit tired from the holidays and that Valentine’s Day is a period often rich with events, which is why we put these conditions so it can be as low-pressure as possible. The point is to rejoice in all the breadth and the richness of the human sentient experience of love. In the love of Star Wars. And in the love of this community.

Be civil and show goodwill to participants and spectators. Be kind. YKINMKATO. Go crazy! Be creative! Have fun!

I gotta be honest, the past week or so really has me questioning whether I'm actually excited for season two of Wednesday or not. I haven't really been involved with the fandom for the past six months or so, but ever since I received my Monster High Wednesday doll, found my Poe Cup cosplay, and all these teasers started coming out, I've been wanting to get involved again, but at this point I'm failing to see the benefits of doing such a thing.

I'm usually never one to allow people to put me off things but this fandom is just even more of a cesspool than it was almost two years ago, I swear.

Tell me why I'm seeing people apologising for liking Tyler? STILL? Yes, I may be a Tyler fan myself but who honestly cares? Like whatever character you like and have done with it. One thing that's also bugging me is how childish the whole censoring characters names and ship names thing is. Where's the need? You're just being dramatic for literally no reason at all. Just put the name, no one is really that bothered.

And also as much as I encourage people to interact and reblog my posts, the obvious does NOT need stating. We know Wednesday and Enid are besties, it does not need repeating, it's literally canon. You're just adding to these shipping wars and frankly, I don't want to see that in my notifications especially from some Wylers... Over the past two years, I've been very fortunate to be in with some great people and not be in a position where I've been involved in or witnessed any ship drama, so why am I honestly hearing all this shit about Wyler people being toxic and doxxing people, etc.? Like where has that come from? Can we just stick to being chill, please? It's bad enough there's so much pandering, politics and really bad parasocial behaviour going on already.

I've quite honestly been sitting on this post for a couple of days now but this is honestly annoying as hell. It's just a goofy lil show, just allow people to enjoy it. Most importantly, ALLOW YOURSELF to enjoy it.

A message to the following…

The previous day was pretty hectic, so I thought I might do some explaining here.

I don't usually get angry, but when I do, its pretty ugly, which I don't like, but I can't help it if I'm provoked by some truly disgusting idiots in this fandom.

Those who know of my account know that I am Wyler fan. A Tyler Galpin fan. Someone who believes he is a tragic villain who should heal and get a redemption arc considering how much he got fucked over in life and unfairly at that too. I don’t like to trash other ships or characters belonging to that same fanbase, but it is my firm belief that some portions of the fans in general, have become really horrible, not only to our favourite character, but to fans of that character as well.

This isn't about shipping wars ok, I don't care who you ship in this show, but when you constantly denigrate a character who our side of the fanbase loves, as well as the fans of that character itself, then I (as well as others) will start biting back, and we will bite back much harder. Stick to promoting your favourite character or ship, rather than put down another character who quite a number of us actually like talking/learning about, and all this drama can be avoided.

For those who don’t know what I am referring to, yesterday, a user on Instagram commented on the latest Wednesday post about Tyler. The admin user responded in a rather negative manner to that user which the account should never have done. As the main social media account for the show, they should be impartial as well as considerate for this diverse fanbase and learn that fans of other characters other than Wednesday and Enid exist too. But that particular comment made in response, has triggered some Wenclair fanatics to go on and bully and harass that Tyler fan for no reason. That user never attacked Wenclair, or Enid in particular. So there was no reason for the following harassment whatsoever. And now they have the audacity to post on their Twitter circles and claim that they are the victims in this situation, which is truly pathetic. But this is not the first time our side of the fanbase has had to deal with these toxic individuals. Fans of the Wyler ship, or Tyler as a character, or those in favour of him getting a redemption arc, are constantly looked down, treated condescendingly, and bullied by some Wenclair fanatics on Instagram, Twitter, and here on Tumblr. And we are not the only side of the fanbase who have copped it badly from these people. Fans of Wavier / Xavier / PHW, and even Ajax / Georgie and the Enid / Ajax ship have been subjugated to such immature behaviour by these fans who attack them, mainly because they see them as threats to Wenclair,

For those angry with me and accusing me of doxxing some accounts on my last post, fine, maybe I took it a bit too far, but I truly feel that it was vital to expose the toxicity of the Wednesday fanbase that no one should have to go through. Plus, it’s not really doxxing if it’s photos of accounts that are mainly pseudonyms and fan centric accounts, and not private details such as real names etc.

Wank Wednesday: Wincest vs Destiel

It’s the battle between giants! This Wank Wednesday, we’re looking at the clash between two juggernaut pairings from the Supernatural fandom: Sam/Dean (Wincest) and Dean/Cas (Destiel). This ship war, which can be dated back to 2009, is particularly known for its length and how it migrated across different platforms.

The participants of the Wincest vs Destiel ship war used many of the same tactics found in other fandoms’ ship wars, including making hateful posts about the other ship and character, advocating for their ship, and spreading hate in the Tumblr or Twitter tags. Both groups have also come up with derogatory nicknames for fans of the other pairing, such as Bronlies to refer to Wincest fans and Destihellers to refer to Destiel fans.

As the ship war revolves around which character should be with Dean, there is also a great deal of hate directed at the characters of Castiel, Sam, and the actors who played them. For SPN fans who didn't participate in the ship war, or didn't ship either of these pairings, the hostility between the two factions often made them feel uncomfortable and unwelcome in the fandom.

1. How many works do you have on Ao3?  about to be 230 on Thursday! (what up, plan on hitting 250 before the end of the year.)

2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?  466,023 words!

3. What fandoms do you write for?  ....too many. whatever hits my fancy when it comes to the whumptober prompts but main focuses are Pride And Prejudice, Willow, DC, Star Wars and The Vampire Diaries.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos? screaming at the cold, say the words as such, our hearts are hungry, this is where the heart lies and going up against it all. the fact that all of these are Star Wars fics and four out of the five are from NTCM. pls.

5. Do you respond to comments?  yes! I've set aside one day a week - Wednesdays - to respond to comments (and then a fic chapter or oneshot goes up on Thursdays.)

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?  so there are actually a few that end angstily, some not on AO3 (I-F, I miss you.) but I've transferred at least one of those over here too so - Humari Adhuri Kahaani and Woh Miley The for them. and then love is not a victory march (ColdAtom I love you.).

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?  oh! most have happy endings? so? i won't list them all. i am particular to the ones where i have Palpatine explode. that's always fun.

8. Do you get hate on fics?  not on fic though i have gotten comments that have made me go "you could have just not said anything". some people nitpicking the way i chose to write characters - in both the Star Wars and Pride And Prejudice fandoms.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?  so i challenged myself to do this a few years ago and i've written a bit but not much? i prefer writing around it for the most part.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?  none here but Haule Haule my beloved nonsense.
