Okay can I be a bitter Anders fan for like. Just 2 minutes here lmao

Cause bioware released some game stats for veilguard and apparently 72% of players redeemed Solas which is like. Okay yeah the game kinda pushes you towards that. But when I think of all the shit I used to have to put up with just for enjoying Anders like at all and…

(This is not me being anti-Solas, I do not care if you love or hate him, but I am gonna say what he’s done is like. Objectively worse than literally every other companion so lmao. And that’s fine! You can still enjoy him! I’m not saying you can’t and it’s important to me that people understand that! I’m just saying he did in fact do objectively morally worse things in game than Anders did and I don’t think that’s really debatable. And I can’t really make my point here without saying that but I do want to make it clear this is not some moral condemnation of Solas enjoyers cause it’s not)

Getting anon hate on the regular, being told “oh you’re allowed to like Anders as long as you regularly talk about how much he sucks”, people gleefully describing how much fun they have killing him ON your posts about the fact that you like him, the devs making jokes about shitty fates for him when fans asked innocent questions about him, the absolute audacity of his writer to say half the shit she did in interviews (about bisexuality and mental illness, most critically), and then being beaten over the head again in inquisition about how Anders is the worst character to ever exist and there’s no redemption for terrorists who lie to you one time in the entire game and he deserves death or worse and that’s it

And now… 72% of people are down to redeem the guy who lies to you for 2 games straight and who did a lot of questionable things that includes creating the fucking blight and. Like. I guess I’m glad that Solas fans can live in a world where they aren’t constantly harassed and can give their ship like. A pretty damn good ending all things considered. And that the devs love Solas and actually give the option for that happy ending and have characters go to bat for Solas throughout the game and the most annoying thing they have to see are people making scrambled egg memes. I would not wish anyone to have to deal with the shit Anders fans had to put up with back then cause it sucked. It really sucked. And I’m glad it’s not being repeated with a different character, if nothing else

But like. Man there really is a difference when the writers actually like the character who does the thing, huh

Another year has passed, and with it the opportunity to reflect back on all that has happened. While my growth was not as dramatic as last year, I can still see lots of positive change.

I'll never have enough ways to say thank you for all the love and support you have given me this year. On to 2025!

#poorly drawn mdzs #art summary #Since last year's independent variable was PD-WWX; this year I used Lan Wangji.#Unfortunately his appearances were not very evenly distributed this year! Lots of LWJ's early in the year #then a dead period in the middle. He is forever my silly rabbit. I love drawing him!#If I have to put a label on this year; I'd describe it as 'experimental'. I pushed myself to do llots of new things!#I drew lots for dungeon meshi and that really boosted my growth. More body types -clothing details - expressions!#Ryoko Kui is a great artist to learn from and It made me realize that I had a lot to gain from doing more studies.#I also started working on a whole new genre of art! While it has taken a backburner spot - I'm working on a game now!#Digital art was my enemy last year but I have been getting a feel for it now.#Goals for this year is to 1) keep working on my personal projects 2) finish PD-MDZS! and 3) practice animation!#I didn't (couldn't) draw as much as I did last year...but I had to take a lesson in humility and taking care of myself.#Drawing is something I do 'for fun' but there were many times it became more stressful than it should.#I'm still learning how to find and maintain balance with everything life throws at me.#We are all works of progress and I am trying very hard to love the process and the journey! I don't really know my destination!#But I will keep taking steps forwards. I never want to be stuck and lost as I once was.#If 2024 was a rough year for you too; We're in this together. It's time to change some scenery!!#Chara using their game narrator voice like “golly!” and “amazing!”#Eimmet high :)) i was really hoping to be able to reference Temmie Chang here. An integral part of UT/DR!! She's awesome!#WE ARE OFFICIALLY ON Day 2 BABY #yes- there is still a little everyman easter egg as well as some other things... ;)#I tried so many new and different things for these panels. I was a little nervous implementing them. But im having a lot of fun with it!#i try to put my own artistic enjoyment above all other things :) its what I strive for.#Angle's landing day! excited for the festivities!#Chara is feeling stabby :)#loved detailing Chara's hand in the last page. When I detail the hands- just know shits getting real #I'm really happy with how I was able to redraw Toriel here. they've been potentially changing a lot with the shadow manga, but since maria's final words to shadow were how she loves him and amy's conversation with shadow in the joypolis collab was about how he is loved, i like to think sonic team is still hinting at amy's ability to touch his heart lol

#shadamy #the only tag i'm brave enough to add it too lol #ik we still speculatin on if the manga is meant to be canon but i think it both is and isn't lol #if only for the handful of beats the manga has that line up with dark beginnings #like sonic team can go crazy go stupid and actually make that gyoro alien a thing in the game LOL #black doom having that big of a role with maria's death is Much™#but i've personally been reading it as both black doom and gerald fcking with shadow's memories #gerald had a lot of rage towards the humans for raiding the ark in the first place #black doom is just an asshole who wants his 'greatest creation' all for himself so he used that alien to kill maria #but gerald never knew that himself and blamed gun so he altered shadow's memories without the full context #that's how i've been thinking it's supposed to go down lol #anyway here's to hoping down the road amy will still be leading shadow down brighter paths mostly unintentionally lol #that joypolis thing showed amy wanting to stand toe to toe with sonic and shadow and may she get that focus eventually 😌😌😌#vee is arting

I think depictions of Anya being cruel to Curly or drawing out his suffering are artful and chilling but completely miss the point of the story and her character.

I'm not saying she doesn't deserve to have that "I told you so" moment with him but not in something callous or cold. Even if that is how it happened, she'd immediately feel guilty cause at that point she's not tormenting her tormenter or even the person truly at fault. She's doing something cathartic, similar to how Jimmy likely hits Curly to release rage he can't against the rest of the crew. She'd see herself as no different when she'd come back from the moment and see Curly cowering at her. She wants someone to take responsibility but how does being cruel to the defenseless help? Why would she want the power Jimmy has over her over Curly?

The idea of her extending someone else's pain is just so against the struggles she already faces and how she can't even bring herself to cause someone pain even to help them. Her very desire is to release herself from her own suffering and I doubt she'd even fine some sort of guilty release in being cruel to another.

#anya is not a character i see taking agency or indulging in cathartic behaviors #not knowingly like i see her as a character trapped in her head and maybe in the scenario she's cruel to Curly she is envisioning Jimmy #in his place but its not a story about justice or those deserving of punishment and those not like its the opposite of people projecting #their issues on the wrong people and saying things to the wrong people and doing things they shouldn't but anya uniquely falls out of it as #she is subjected to a lot of it but it is also not something she wants to subject another person to like you are doing what Jimmy does and #placing ur rage into another persons and viewing their actions through your eyes like she'd more likely yell at him than do harm or #cause him more pain like at least make it in character #but also she clearly doesn't want to see jimmy or curly in the same light and doesnt because she still repeatedly goes to Curly for comfort #and protection and god there's like concepts that need to be applied to characters individually and then the story as a whole #we can not view the game through only one themed lens less we forget to inspect the compounding factor of Anya is so much more than girl #that needs to be allowed to go off but a woman that simply wants right to be done by her and no more harm like she doesn't want to be aroun #the suffering like idk but some of yall would just benefit from like understanding that people are inherently grey with the capabilities of #black n white thinking or actions #mouthwashing #mouthwashing game #anya mouthwashing #i like her the most but then again i am defensive of all women in media and hate when people change the way the character would take agency #for themselves like yes I want her to tweak out but she just wouldn't and I like seeing realistic depictions of a woman suffering the way #she is like shes not the type at the end of the movie to have a one liner but feel a shallow freedom cause she needs to realistically heal #idk but its just like there is an obbsession forming with making her character her pain and not how she handles and navigates the issue

I'm very new to joseimukes, what happens when they reach the conclusion of the main plot? Do they keep the game going with a main story - part 2 and events to wring out every cents out of the audience or do they close down the servers and that's the end of it?? I'm scared for my twst obsession's future

honestly, this is the first game of this kind that I've played that looks like it's actually going to reach the end of the story without getting cancelled midway through, so...I have no idea! :') my gut assumption is that there'll probably keep being events and reruns for a while, until it finally stops being profitable enough to justify itself and they end service. but I am also interested in the answer, if other people more familiar can give their experience!

#twisted wonderland #joseimuke games are serious business #afaik twst is still doing well amongst the target demo and probably will for a while yet #the manga's still on the third arc and we know we've got at least three seasons of anime incoming #so they've been laying the groundwork for post-main story stuff to keep the interest going #and beyond that...we'll find out i guess #honestly i don't play a lot of very story-heavy live service games and this is one reason why #i've been thinking about it lately and i'm glad there's people out there uploading recordings and attempting to archive and preserve things #(i do have generally some weird feelings about this sort of stuff just as someone who does primarily digital art)#(so i'm not gonna say too much there because we have already gone off on too much of a tangent)
