a/n: WOWIEEE HAIII EVERYONE!! i just wanted to say thank you again to everyone who loved on my last post. it was really scary for me to make that, but i did it and all of the interaction means the complete world!!!! i know that this is a very different fandom than the last post so i don't know how many people will see this but to any readers, i hope that you enjoy this!!! i worked super hard and got a bit tired towards the end so i hope you can forgive me if it isn't as detailed eyfvibu i wanted to do more but mannnn i am so tired. i didn't write lucio, as i will not be writing any lucio content on my page at all. mentions of him for story reasons and maybe if i ever write a fanfic, he'll probably show up but other than that, i will not be making any content of him at all. i am a proud lucio hater so if you want lucio content please go somewhere else. i just finished asra's route today, i got the upright ending and AAAAAAAAAA?????? I LOVE THEM SMMM SYFVIUBIOE!!!! asra is literally such a cutie patootie and i am so in love with him. i cannot deal with it. i have done muriel and julian's routes too, both with the result of the upright ending, and i plan to do nadia's next!!!! very excited and nervous to see what happens. nadia and portia may be a bit ooc, so apologies for that. i have yet to do their routes so i have yet to see their characters in action. very mildly proofread, so please forgive any errors. character banners were edited together by me! any and all requests/ideas for my next post are appreciated! i don't think i have anything else to mention so enjoy!!!!!!

asra ♡ traveling.

i really struggled to find something for asra that suited, because they would honestly enjoy doing anything with you. it doesn't matter where you are or what time of day it is, as long as he has you by his side, then he's happy. and that is super evident in their route. and having just finished asra's route, i have been thinking; we all know that asra does a lot of traveling. and we all know that during those times, asra misses you terribly. they don't like being away from you for a long time, and as we go through asra's route, having all of these adventures and seeing so many new and cool places, we can see just how happy asra is to have you at their side. the joy shines through the screen, and i can feel just how happy he is to have you with him wherever you are. ergo, their favorite thing to do with you is to travel.

when the two of you started to travel together, asra was a bit nervous. he didn't know what to expect when you agreed to travel together without a destination in mind, and he was worried that somehow, some way, something would happen to you. what if you got kidnapped? what if you got hurt? what if you got sick? all sorts of thoughts were running through asra's head, but the more that they watched you grow and allowed you to take chances, the more that they realized that you would be okay. yes, any of those things could happen, but he is right there if you need him. they know that they will always be by your side to help you through any challenge, and care for you however you need it.

however, as the travels go on, he is reminded everyday that you are a strong, capable individual. they knew that before, of course, but seeing you solve all of the riddles and puzzles put in front of you, helping so many people and growing so much made it hit them like a truck. he was always too afraid to allow you to take chances before, in fear that you would get hurt. but they learned that if you didn't take chances, that you wouldn't grow. and the last thing that he wants is to stop you from being the best version of you that you can be.

so, they let you off of the leash. and just like a bird taking flight, you soared and took everything that came at you by storm. he watched you as you became braver, smarter, kinder and stronger. they always expected for you to be great, and they always had faith in you. he just needed to learn that in order to achieve that greatness, that he needed to let you do some things on your own. they needed to let you make your own mistakes and win your own battles, so that you could learn. and it was one of the best decisions that he's ever made. watching you become more independent and confident within yourself is one of the best feelings that they could ever be blessed to have. he feels so grateful that he is the person that you choose every single day, and no matter what, he will always choose you.

julian ♡ dancing.

at heart, julian is a romantic. almost every cliche romantic thing that you can think of, you have done with julian. picnics. karaoke, aquariums, painting classes, shopping, craft nights, not to mention all of the crazy adventures that you guys would get into together. every day, he wants to remind you why you fell for him, and in his opinion, keeping things lively is the best way to do that! above all, though, julian's favorite thing to do with you is to dance. he knew that you were a prodigy at dancing after the masquerade, but one night changes everything.

the two of you had actually taken dancing classes before this. you were actually the one who suggested it, and after teasingly accusing you of thinking that the two of you are horrible dancers, he agreed. he honestly didn't think that he could be more in love with you after that. you two went to the class, and julian could hardly ever tear his eyes off of you. the way that you moved was so naturally graceful, as if you had been a dancer your whole life. he most definitely showered you in attention and love after the class was over, and he knew that he had to arrange for the two of you to dance together more often.

oh but that night was not the night that he realized that this was his favorite thing to do with you, no no no no no. the night that he realized that dancing was his favorite activity to do with you was a night like many others; dinner at portia's. it was you, julian, portia and nadia, and you all decided to eat outside so that you could watch the stars. portia went into the cottage to check on the food, with nadia following close behind her, and julian figured that it was the perfect time to steal a sweet moment with you. so, he stood from his seat and knelt to one knee before you. with one hand on his chest and the other extended to you, he asked, "will you have this dance with me, my dear?"

you giggled and told him that there wasn't any music playing. what could you possibly dance to? oh how sweet you are. a chuckle symphonized from his chest, and he responded with, "oh my dear, we do have music." a gloved hand took yours and placed it over his heart, "right here." oh my gods, this absolute cheeseball. you playfully shoved his chest, moving backwards under the force but not falling onto his butt. he swiftly leans forward and takes the hand that shoved him, pulling you to your feet as he stood. one pair of hands intertwined while the others lay on your waist on his shoulder. you two started to sway together, as if you were in the masquerade. yes, you did technically dance at the masquerade, but julian wanted a more intimate experience. you didn't get to have a romantic ballroom dance thanks to the one we do not speak, and julian finds that absolutely outrageous!

your bodies glide beautifully amongst the grass and bushes, you take turns spinning each other around and laughing throughout. fireflies spring from the greenery wherever you set your feet, giving your figures a tender glow that julian found absolutely enchanting on you. after spinning through almost all of portia's front lawn, you find yourselves right back at group sitting spot. his arms have encircled your waist, keeping you close to him as your arms encircle his neck carefully. there are no long strides in this dance, no dramatic flair; just you and him rocking back and forth. his eyes stare into yours and his lips are curved into an adoring smile, as if by looking into your eyes, he could pour all of his love from him to you just through eye contact.

you mutter his name, he mutters yours, you lean in, and..portia pipes up. both her and nadia hold two bowls of soup, hot and ready. portia is mischievously smirking at the two of you while nadia admires your connection. julian tries to usher them away so that he can have more alone time with you, but you're quick to shut him down. begrudgingly, julian did, but all he could think about for the rest of the night was how beautiful you were dancing with him. your laughter singing into the air, the smile on your face, your gaze carving through the very core of his being. somehow, he was able to stay focused on the conversations that occurred that evening, but everyone, including you, could tell that he was going to be hung up on tonight for the next several weeks. when you got home, he was sure to steal a kiss from you later, and another dance.

nadia ♡ fashion shows.

ah, our beloved countess. at first, i planned on giving her shopping, seeing as her love language is gift giving, she would love to spoil the crap out of you with anything that you even glanced out. however, i wasn't happy with that idea. my boyfriend was actually the one who came up with the idea of fashion shows (hi vinny honey, i love you <3). he is such a freaking genius for this one bc OH MY GOSH YES. nadia has such beautiful taste in clothing, so she would absolutely love to host little fashion shows with you. she does like to share her clothes with her friends, but with you, it's special.

the original thought was you trying on nadia's clothes, and nadia trying on your clothes. nadia would feel like she is falling in love with you all over again if you tried on her clothes. all of the fabric would embrace you in such a perfect way, accentuating all of the things that she loves the most about you. gosh she would just be so head over heels,, she would clap every time you would walk out to show her what you chose, or what she selected for you because she just wanted to see you in it so bad. this woman is literally your number one supporter, she thinks that you are absolutely drop-dead gorgeous in everything that you choose to try on and cannot get enough of you in her clothes. she will shower you in compliments and praise of just how celestial you look, and it makes you super duper flustered because she just flatters you so much.

she also gets really shy when she tries on your clothes. all of her life, she has had the most expensive, well-made, stunning clothes that anyone could ever dream of. so, trying on clothes that do not fit under those categories is new to her. while she isn't used to not wearing the most lavish clothes to be found, she likes your sense of style and is always excited when you ask her to try on an ensemble of yours. what she worries about is what you think. she frets that you think it won't look good on her, if that isn't the farthest thing from the truth. when she walks out to you, you are in absolute awe of how beautiful she is. you already think that she can't get any prettier when she wears other outfits, but now this???? her in your clothes???? oh lord almighty you must be SAVED bc this woman has swept you off of your feet. she asks you what you think, and all you can do is walk up to her and smooch the ever-loving life out of her. you just love each other so much!!!!!

BUT WAIT, I'M NOT DONE. I HAVE MORE THOUGHTS.

when your group of friends have sleepovers at the palace, or when you all go out shopping together, it is unavoidable that you all will be having a fashion show where you all show off the clothes that you bought. nadia loves these so much because she gets to watch her friends all enjoy themselves and feel confident in their clothes, especially if she was the one who bought them. but with you, they just feel so different. to her, it is an intimate experience of being able to share your joy with one another. something that you value in your relationship with nadia is self-esteem, both yours and hers. not only do you both want to make each other feel good. but you also want to feel good within yourself. and nadia thinks that fashion shows are an important part of that. clothes are part of how one may express themselves and their identity, and that is something that nadia treasures. so, if showing off the clothes that you got is going to make you feel good about yourself, then she wants to be there to watch you. there is nothing more important to her than your happiness, and if going through outfit by outfit is what will make you happy, then so be it.

admittedly, she..also really likes to show you the new clothes she gets. when you first started dating, she was a bit nervous about it. she knew that you knew of her riches and lifestyle; it was lavish, and she only got the best of the best. she's the countess for crying out loud, so of course you knew that she was going to have everything that she wanted at her feet, even if it meant something that took literal years to find. but there was part of her that worried that you would see her money and think differently of her. she feared that you would judge her person based on her money, instead of the woman you fell in love with. when she told you this, you automatically reassured her that you wouldn't think differently of her at all. you would love her regardless of the amount of money she has, you told her. and this put her heart at ease, so she progressively became more comfortable showing off her wardrobe when you hosted your shows to each other. now, she doesn't hesitate to declare a fashion show after a shopping spree so that she can show you the lovely things that she got for herself. and every single time that you have one, you cannot believe that that is your girlfriend. you are just the luckiest person in the whole world to have someone like her, and she feels infinitely more lucky to have you.

portia ♡ watching the sunset.

this kind of feels like a given to me. portia is always talking about how she wants to sail the world and explore, both in the actual routes and in heart hunter. so sitting on the docks with you, watching the sun disappear behind the sea and talking about your dreams??? oh heck yes, count her in. she is really tired when she isn't working, so usually she spends her time trying to rest up and take care of things around her cottage. however, she wants to spend all of the time that she can with you. so, the two of you go on all sorts of lovely dates! shopping in the marketplace, teaching her about new herbs in the shop, seeing the new shows in the theater and heckling julian, all sorts of stuff!!!!! but portia's all time favorite part of your days together is when you go to the docks, take off your shoes, sit on the edge and talk while watching the sunset together.

portia has so many dreams, and so many things that she wants to do in her life. and she loves to tell you about all of them. she spends hours just ranting to you about all of the things that she wants to do, the places that she wants to see, the types of adventures that she wants to go on, and of course they all include you being there with her. oh gods you love listening to her,, every single word that she speaks are words that you carve into the stones of your memories. listening to her talk about her dreams is like watching the sun shine. greenery smiles under the glorious warmth and embraces her glimmer gratefully, her passion burns brightly and she is the most beautiful being in any realm to ever exist. she has no time to wonder if she's talking too much because she is far too focused on being with you, and loving every single moment of it. you truly hope that you are able to go on all of the adventures that she wants, so that you can experience every ounce of the world with her, until it all falls apart.

of course, she loves to listen to you. the time that you two spend at the docks is time to talk about anything that comes to mind, and she cannot help but adore you as you pour your heart out to her. when you speak of all of the things that you want to do before your time in this realm comes to a close, she watches and listens very intently. your voice to her is like a river, running smoothly through the canals of her mind and soothing the battering howl of her heart. her eyes twinkle with adoration as her elbow rests on her knee, her face leaning against her hand as she stares at you. everything that you tell her only makes her more excited for your future, because in your future, you include her. and that is all that she could ever truly want. you both truly love to listen to each other talk, not even just about your dreams, but about anything. even if it's something as small as dinner options or something that you saw at the market that you liked, you both love to hear anything and everything from each other. can you tell that the two of you are head over heels in love??

the first time that you sat at the docks together was a magical moment that portia will never forget. you two had just spent an amazing day together, and you wanted to rest by somewhere pretty before heading back home. so, portia suggested the docks to watch the sunset. you agreed, then took your shoes off and sat down. you conversed for hours, laughing and teasing each other. it is so obvious that you both are the other's favorite person to be around to everyone around you, you are both so comfortable with each other in the purest, most loving way. portia had taken her hair down, long curly locks of red flowing carefully down her back. as the sun caressed the ocean for a farewell kiss, the light made her look like she was a celestial being. freckled, pale skin bathes in orange, your own skin making you look just as radiant as she. you locked eyes with her, and all you could think about is just how much you love her. and her you, for she thought in that moment, that you were the most gorgeous person she had ever seen. she thinks that all of the time, but everything about that time was too perfect. your hands cupped her cheek, and her hands held your arms as you exchanged a beautifully passionate kiss. all of her love dumped into it as did yours, and it is something that portia will always remember. you two go to the docks a lot more to watch the sunset, and exchange plenty more kisses worth treasuring for the rest of your lives.

muriel ♡ nature walks.

OHHHHHH MURIEL!!! MY SHMOOPY POOPY DOOPY BEAR!! i love this man with all of my heart,, no one understands my love for him syufigubine. i didn't even have to think about this one, because i KNEW for a fact this our sweet boy would absolutely LOVE to go on nature walks with you. he isn't much of a people-person, so he doesn't really like going anywhere that crowds gather. which, in vesuvia, is a pretty hard thing to do, considering the fact that people are almost always out, doing something. so muriel doesn't like going anywhere where people are. the time that he spends with you is meant for you and you alone, not to be spent around a crap ton of strangers that push and shove and cram him into tight spaces. so anytime alone with you is time that he greatly cherishes. you had been wanting to find an activity that both you and muriel love doing that wouldn't make muriel anxious or uncomfortable, so you came up with the idea of nature walks.

when you brought it up to muriel, he accepted it right away. he would get to be around nature and spend time with you? that's all he ever really needs, honestly. he has been through the forest time and time again, he knows every crevice of it like the lines on his palms, yet when you went on your first nature walk together, everything about the forest seemed to change. the colors were brighter, the plants smelt richer, heck even the animals were out and about more when you two went out together. he didn't understand why, but it felt so much better being in the forest with you. you walked along and let the path take you wherever fate demanded. the sun peered through the leaves of the trees to allow life to breathe underneath it, the warmth of the day wrapping around you both like a blanket. he's gotten used to this forest after living in it for so many years, but with you, it felt like the most fascinating place to be.

he was a little worried because he figured that you would want to go out. not just to the forest, but to somewhere like the marketplace, the town square or even the rowdy raven. when he expressed his concerns, you reassured him that you didn't need to go out and do something. all you need is to be with him, and if this is the way that he is most comfortable spending time together, then so be it. you could walk all day, all night, for the rest of your lives in this forest together, as long as it meant that he was comfortable and happy. he smiled and thanked you for your reassurance, giving you a little kiss on the cheek before taking your hand and continuing your journey.

from that point forward, nature walks became a very regular part of your routine with muriel. it always starts with "wanna go on a walk?", and from that point forward, who knows what could happen. you two have found a lot of new things in that forest together. you've found lots of pretty flowers, greenery, rocks and animals that you didn't see before, new spots to relax in and even found little burrows and nests a couple of times!!! it's like a little adventure that isn't too far away from home, and muriel is more than happy to go on a walk at any time. it's almost always something new when the two of you go out together, and he thinks that that's what makes you so lovely. on most days, on his own, he wouldn't think twice about any of the things that you do. so, when you stop him to look at a pattern on a rock, or to admire a dandelion that you call a flower even though it's a weed, he takes his time to admire it with you, and he can't stop that sweet smile from curling onto his lips. seeing you in his favorite place is the most wonderful experience that he could ever ask for. he didn't believe that he was deserving of wonderful experiences before, but now that he has you, he wants to think differently.

Poll result: JK reading April 12, 2025, 2:51 p.m.

kind of surprised that people voted for JK because I've done several JK readings lately but always happy to read for him. Please see below.

Also before I begin, can we just talk about how I did that reading for RM and then 5 hours later he posted. I had the weirdest inclination to read for him and then I felt like he was going to post so soon. But besides that, I felt like his energy stayed with me until I went to sleep. And it was the most amazingly confident male privilege kind of energy. I was like do men feel like this all the time? I didn't want it to go away.

Moving on. Let's talk about the spread that I got for JK. I asked about 2025, particularly from now on until after enlistment. I don't want to be too intrusive so we'll talk about love as a topic but I won't try to see anything in particular or if I do, I won't share. But we can talk about things because I've expressed in a previous reading about his love language.

Things I want to remember before I begin is when I looked at the seven of pentacles at the back of the deck, I started saying I've been waiting for a girl like you. I want to remind myself of that in case something comes up.

That could also be his penchant for singing about things as they are happening. I don't know if you do this where you might be cooking or something and you start singing about spaghetti because you're making spaghetti. I've noticed that he does this already as a habit. And yet when he does it it's always related to something happening in that moment. And so I feel like there's this really intense feeling of anticipation and eagerness to get to work. And to start doing things from a new beginning.

I almost feel like he's basically chomping at the bit to get out of military to get back to work. I think that they will express this after they get out, but I think for him it's been pretty difficult. Because it's monotonous and it's taken time away from work. I don't think he is bitter or anything. I think it was difficult but I don't think you'll hear him complaining about how hard it was. At least not publicly.

I feel like the ten of wands is what is kind of representing that feeling of the past 18 months but we do have a couple of tens here and then we have an ace of cups, so there's definitely this feeling of okay we're finally at the finish line and it's going to be a fresh start, I can start working, I can start getting organized, we can start getting back into some type of system. And by system I mean like a feeling of normalcy. Like that kind of different schedule of whatever BTS will have to do to to adjust from that military regimen to that similar kind of disciplined work regimen.

I think that he's going to be a little tight-lipped for a bit. Or a little bit out of communication because the cards sometimes did not want to come out almost like it was being held in. There were a couple of decks that came out quick but for the most part, I don't know if he still needs to get his thoughts together on something or there will be this moment of protecting his energy and protecting his thoughts and not really letting anything out. That doesn't mean he might not do lives, I just mean he will be holding back. Or is currently holding back.

Because I do see the five of wands, that could be related to not wanting to stir up any drama or not wanting to start any unnecessary conflict at the moment because he's focusing on other things. Not that he really stirs up drama on his own but I mean I think he's going to withdraw purposely so that anything he says or does won't be specifically linked to any kind of Internet drama or whatever.

In terms of timeline it's interesting that the emperor and the hierophant came out since that's the current timing. So that's why I think that some things are just a little bit difficult for him right now mostly because he's right at the edge of being able to do what he wants. Maybe these months have been a little bit slower than the other months. I do wonder if there will be a bit of an adjustment period for him in the next several months. Like up until the Virgo time period.

Something else that I noticed because the first card I pulled was the cactus card. And I feel like from that what I got is this is somebody who is able to sustain themselves in even the driest environment. Like even if it's difficult, he can adapt in some way. The back of the deck was also lotus so this makes me think of two flowers that are able to survive in an environment that might seem unpleasant. One lives kind of in a bog while the other lives in a dry desert. And yet they still are able to persevere. This might be something that he's imagined during his time in the military.

Like even how do I want to put it because I think in his mind it's almost artistic in the way that he's envisioning it but not being conscious of the fact that how he's thinking about it is rather poetic. Or maybe he really is visualizing himself in terms of a flower because it's actually like the simplest way to explain a complex concept right. How can we say something as complicated as okay I went through this difficult thing and yet I was able to persevere and not just that but something beautiful came out of it. That was a lot of words whereas he seems like the type of artist that instead of using words like RM, he might understand visual concepts better. Which is probably why he gravitates toward video

I don't think he realizes that that in itself is a pretty cool talent that maybe only visual artists have or even writers. Where you have this feeling or an idea and instead of it coming out through words, it comes out through an image in your mind. So what I'm saying is you know he might feel this way right and he can't articulate it necessarily, but in his mind suddenly he's imagining a lotus or a cactus because that's the symbol of what this feels like.

I think that probably also is something that I hadn't really thought of in terms of his artistic take on things. I mean I know he said that video is the simple way of showing something without any room for guessing. Like that's how he explained it but I think there's more to that. And maybe he hasn't been able to tap into this in terms of songwriting. I know he has said things like in are you sure where he doesn't have a lot of thoughts. But I think it's because he's comparing himself to other members who write. But the truth is you can learn to write around a concept.

Back in the days when I wrote a lot of fiction online, I would use music. Granted, I could be inspired by moments in a movie. Kind of like how jimin wrote a song based around a movie that he watched. And I'm sure JK can kind of do this, where he could listen to music and have an image in his mind and then that inspires something that plays out in his head like a movie and then he could write lyrics based around that. Maybe that's why he's been able to do a couple of soundtrack songs because okay now he has a vision and something that he can write to. Between you and me one of my favorite songs that he's done is that one for that comic thing that I didn't even read. And yoongi wrote it.

Anyway, point being is besides that take on the cactus card, with the ace of cups, I am kind of getting that similar feeling of finding some type of Hope or refreshing moment in even the most difficult times. Almost like inspiration. Not just having the time to think about things and get inspired but the moment in self being what is inspiring.

So I do think that at this moment or shortly very shortly, he is going to be inspired about getting to work. But not just getting to work, I do get the sense that there is a specific project that if he already hasn't started as a solo project that he's already started working with maybe with jimin to contribute to the next BTS album. Or maybe even both. Because I definitely have the sense that there are solid things already in the works.

I feel like it's non-stop thinking and talking about songs or albums or whatever. When they said that all they do is talk about the future, I am feeling almost exhausted by the amount of talking they do about this. Like the people around them even if they're like yay BTS members are in our bunk or whatever, they're also like damn do they ever shut up about this stuff. Because when I look at the ten of pentacles here, I feel like this is two people who are constantly yapping about work. Every little pentacle is like a dialogue bubble about work. And it's almost like the dogs and that guy sitting on the bench are just exhausted listening to them.

I think maybe that's a good thing for both of them but particular for JK to be able to articulate what he wants from work and his expectations and working on specific projects. I think constantly talking about it and then getting to the finish line is what's really kind of ramping up his excitement about getting back to work on music.

Let's kind of move on to some of the oracle cards cuz I could probably keep going. We have goodbye to the old and hello to the new which I think also fits this kind of crazy anticipatory energy. It says you've finished one part of your life and now a new and even better part is beginning. And that definitely ties in with this ace of cups and the lotus and the cactus. We also have holiday the answer you're looking for can be found during a vacation, retreat, or holiday getaway.

I think in general this doesn't have to specifically be a holiday but just the idea of finally having freedom. But since the cards often mean multiple things at once, I would venture to guess that when he gets out, he might go on a brief vacation or holiday or even BTS as a whole once they go out we'll kind of go on a holiday to have a bit of a reunion and kind of bond and talk about projects. It's also interesting that in the holiday card, purple is a very strong color there so definitely I'm more definitely getting the impression that it's all of the members.

So I wouldn't be surprised if over the summer, we hear about them going to a private place and just working on stuff. I would actually suggest that not to be specific on where they're going but because of this goodbye to the old hello to the new and there's so many flowers and it feels like summer, they might go somewhere that's by water or you know it doesn't have to be out of Korea but it's a place that would be experiencing summer right now with flowers and Bloom, maybe there's a lake nearby, if they go out of Korea it would be somewhere more tropical and warm looking but like I don't know why they would need to do that unless they're doing bon voyage somewhere. But yeah it's interesting that in both of those cards the figures are kind of darker in skin color and wearing white and purple. So this is definitely something that will take place during the summer.

We also have more timing in terms of new moon and Leo, which says shine and then followed by a Virgo card that says assess the situation. So clearly things will be happening I think from this time until Virgo that will be interesting or the cards that I have right now are basically dealing with things that will happen in that time frame for JK.

It's interesting that there's a lot of emphasis on flowers here for me. I think in July, that's when he might come out more of being hidden away like I was talking about. Where it felt like he was holding back so expect around the Leo time, for him to be more active either on social media or even releasing something or doing some type of performance. But definitely during Leo time, he has to be coming out with something.

Assess the situation is interesting because there's also a do some research card at the back of the deck and then this one card that talks about finances and career that says financial issues are a factor in your love life right now.

So maybe around the time where the Virgo season is happening, there could be something that comes up. I'm not sure what it is because it's not very clear to me. I almost feel like the seven of pentacles is also involved in this. But it's I guess because it's so personal I don't really know what it is. But there is the sense of figuring something out. I can tell you that it has to do with mature adult issues beyond what JK normally thinks about. I don't know what that could be. Maybe that's because I can't relate to it. This could be something that only really rich successful people deal with like finances, investments, contracts, stuff that is serious in that kind of nature that only he would know about or people on his level would know about. And there will be a moment where he kind of needs to figure that stuff out.

It's weird how it feels so serious but I mean of course he's also still a business person, so he deals with this whole other realm of things that most of us won't really know unless we are that famous. It doesn't really feel attached to BTS. In terms of contracts you know. It feels like higher than that. But it's not quite investments or property. It does feel long-term. I just don't know what that would be? I'm too poor to understand. It almost feels like someone thinking of taking on a bigger role in a company. You know like if somebody knows that they are going to shift into a CEO position.

So maybe within the company or even related to the industry, he's going to step into some kind of important role. I can tell you that it's not because somebody gives it to him, I feel like it's something he's been considering and wants to do and I don't feel like there's a lot of worry about it. Almost as if somebody wanted to step up to manage something. Anyway. You get the idea. So even if it's not within his own company, but what else would it be, I feel like you'll hear by fall that he will take a bigger step up in terms of work and responsibility. Or okay maybe this is an agenda. Like you know when somebody has a cause and then they start a charity or start a platform. What comes to mind might be an agency or setting up policies that protect younger artists or protect artists in general more in terms of protecting them from businesses who would take advantage of them.

I get a good feeling about that. But I also feel like that could stir up some interesting conflict so we'll see.

I just like how I feel when I think about it because he feels so determined and so sure and so in the right place as in like it's coming from a self-righteous but not pompous kind of thing. It's just so I'm going to do this. I believe in this.

Let's talk about the love cards. It does say romantic feelings. Your feelings are real and worth exploring. The back of the deck says soulmate yes this is your soulmate. And then we have the finances and career, financial issues are a factor in your love life right now. I won't speak about any particular people but let me give you a scenario of what that says even though I think it's obvious.

I would guess that he has feelings for somebody. I would say that not to say it will be difficult but obviously his career will have an influence on that relationship whether he talks about it or it's open. I would guess that he would consider that person to be very compatible and maybe like a soulmate to me it doesn't feel like a new connection. Because it feels very deep and mature. The finances in career I'm definitely pinning to the seven of pentacles though. So I just all of the times that he has said that he focuses on work, I do think that's true. I think him having a relationship is definitely particularly influenced by his career.

I don't think that would be a surprise to anybody. Some other things that I can talk about that I get just from these few cards would be he's very romantic. I think he's very physically affectionate when he's with somebody. Like touching constantly, likes kissing, likes romance, probably very much likes foreplay, likes to please his lover. I think his ideal date would be being somewhere intimate and not a lot of people, particularly just having somebody come to his house. They watch TV, they listen to music, they make dinner there.

I think he loves the idea of just having intimate time with just himself and the other person. I feel like he hasn't been able to obviously experience those types of intimate moments as much as he could outside of military. So there is also anticipation in being able to have those moments with someone again. We can also talk about his taste based on these cards that I'm seeing and I'm looking at the romantic feelings and soulmate cards just looking at the images right.

So you can look at them and you can see that's where I got this concept of intimacy. These couples are pretty much alone, they look very much in love, his partner seems to be very classy, sexy, beautiful. The kind of person that a Renaissance painter would paint and find beautiful and lovely and charming. What's interesting too is that in each of the images, the couple's hair matches. So he would definitely want to do the usual Korean thing of kind of matching clothes and even hair to his person.

I think for Western people this is a strange concept, but when I went to Korea this past summer, and I actually saw it I was like okay. It's weird to me. I don't really understand it fully. If couples did that in the US, it would be kind of corny. But that's just like a couple coded thing that people do there. And it works for them, so that's fine. His partner would be elegant. want to say like demir and have these really lovely feminine qualities.

But I want to tell you that even if that's true and the person he's with is very elegant and classy and beautiful, this feels like a projection and a fantasy that he's putting forward. This is how he envisions his partner and his love life... It's very romanticized. Just like how I was talking about how his creative process is to envision something or he has to envision something in a certain way. Like into symbolic visual representations of whatever he's feeling

That's the same here so there's like this fantasy or projection about romance and love that feels very pride and prejudice. Whether or not this is how his real life romantic life lives out, this is what his ideal is. Flowers and romantic ambiance and physical affection and intimacy and being somehow connected to that person in an obvious way whether it's matching clothes or hair.

In terms of taking the lead, yeah for the most part well I guess if you look at the cards which my finance card flew under my coffee table so that's interesting oh wait no that was the romantic feelings one. That's interesting that it flew under and I was thinking of the closet but anyway. Regardless of his interests, I mean you just know that there's a feeling of needing to keep romantic feelings under the wraps. Or maybe he struggles actually with keeping those feelings hidden. Maybe he thinks it's unfair that idols can't express those things about relationships so openly.

But yeah let's talk about some stuff right. I think he likes kissing an awful lot. I think his favorite parts are going to be the waist and I know that's weird but that's where this guy is holding this one woman and then maybe like the shoulder clavicle region or I should say like the neck. I'm sure there are other places he likes as well but we don't need to talk about that. I'm getting more of the romantic version of things, not the sexual things. And that's more his business.

I would be really curious to know the things that in an intimate moment and I don't mean during sex, I mean during kissing or making out and in this ideal intimate setting, the two couples seem to be talking like whispering to each other and sharing something intimate. And he seems really engaged and even turned on by that. So I guess you could infer that some type of I don't want to say dirty talk because that might be a thing but that's not what I'm getting here. I'm getting more like praise. He might have a praise kink or he gives that to somebody. I know that's a joke sometimes in the BTS fandom, but I mean literally I'm seeing this woman maybe complimenting him or saying something sweet and complimentary and this is really doing it for him.

So sure he may like to give out compliments or have a dirty mouth himself. But what is really effective on him is praise. Sweet things. Feeling reassured. And it doesn't come from a place of what some might think in terms of how do I want to put it. Like a fantasy of BDSM or anything. And that could be a whole other topic. We're just talking about general intimate times.

What really makes him feel good is that praise and knowing that he is loved and also the times where he is being taken care of as in his feelings are being considered and he can be open and himself and talk and say whatever he wants and that person is really present and listening to him. Like this really does something for him. I don't know if it turns him on per se, and I don't know if he's even aware of how much this is important to him. But like inside me, I feel like I have these crazy fireworks going off at the thought of just being with the person that I love, we're sitting on the couch in like the basement, maybe there's a romantic movie on and in the background or some music. And we're just together. And that person is telling me like just the sweetest things about how much they enjoy being with me or I don't know. It's very warm and it's very sweet and I'm kind of jelly.

And that's what he wants to project now. He's not projecting anything raunchy. And we don't really need to know the details of his sex life other than I'm sure he is very giving. But end game, no matter what, he is envisioning that he wants to end up with his soulmate. That's his fantasy.

What else would you want to know about? I think the mindful and hope cards are pretty much what I've already talked about. I think he is currently being a little bit more mindful of the things that he puts out especially on social media. I also do think the Hope card is similar in that there's hope for the future and more than that I'm getting like that feeling of inspiration. There's a pumpkin in the picture which makes me think of the fall. It could literally be that he's working on a project with j-hope that maybe would be released around October. Or if not that then like I told you about that project. Or charity or platform maybe we'll hear more about that in the fall. It could even be like some type of platform or donation to raise food for something or some type of bigger cause like that.

And maybe that ties into mindful as well he's going to be even more generous with charities and get involved in more platforms and be thinking more about these complex things going on in the world than he has before.

I just think going back to that Virgo card about assess the situation on top of thinking about work and songs and stuff there have been a lot of conversations and times to think about bigger issues and more complex things happening in the world and what JK thinks about those things.

We haven't really talked about the tarot even though I kind of brought them in. Again I think there have been some struggles along the 18-month journey here of being in the military. I think it was especially difficult for him because he probably doesn't really like routines like this and being told what to do and but I mean he managed fine. I also see in these cards definitely a lot of working out and maybe even like learning some hand-to-hand combat or competitive things that would have happened with the other military people.

Besides seeing the ten of wands as being just about a difficulty that has kind of lasted for a bit of time, I'm also seeing this as somebody who's literally gotten bigger and has been lifting all this weight. Same with the five of wands, besides there being kind of you know some conflict going on, I see that as competitive things that are happening. Friendly competitions or other conflicts that we may never even learn about unless he shares them.

Eight of pentacles, besides working hard while in the military, I'm seeing this as part of the ear to get back to work on songs or having already been working on that kind of stuff. The emperor and the hierophant to me are mostly about the timing of Aries and Taurus which are now. So this could be just the thoughts and feelings that I've described in this reading so far are kind of blanketing that time... So like it's still difficult, he's still working hard in the military, he's doing competitive things there, he is probably working on music. I feel like he has become more organized and disciplined in the way that he performs work.

But I think this is just describing his situation in the military if we're going by timing. I do think that there is Hope on the horizon for him, when you see this ace of cups. It's also getting him excited about being creative, I feel like he's also seeing getting out of the military as an opportunity to start over. It also might be a next step in terms of any romantic relationships that are happening. Like a new step in that area as well.

Ten of pentacles, I also see he might have a new outlook on health as well as you know obviously this being related to work or family. I just feel like he's going to get out of here and have this whole new perspective at least at first about how much he appreciates his freedom. I think he'll be working on this new health plan. He might have like a new health kick regarding how he eats. I almost felt like maybe he'll give up smoking too. I f****** hate that he smokes it makes me so mad. I don't care what anybody says. Lung cancer is one of the top reasons why people die in South Korea because smoking is so pervasive among their youth. I saw it with my own eyes and it made me so sad.

So he might be considering a more healthy lifestyle. Food changes, working out changes, the smoking things. I feel like he's going to become more conscientious about health. We have a Virgo card and the ten of pentacles often relates to health. So again I feel like he's assessing things related to being healthy or what it means to be healthy. At least I hope or he might even get a doctor who says in the near future you know you really need to do this or that

There might suddenly be something that he can't do diet wise anymore if it's like gluten or dairy. I feel like that's going to become more serious and he'll have to be more strict with how he does certain things. I know this is minor but something about water. The ace of cups being offered next to a health card and somebody who is giving advice like the hierophant definitely makes me feel that it could be about drinking more water or some medical thing related to hydration or needing to take a type of medicine. But anyway just more thoughts about being healthier in terms of his body.

And if this hasn't happened already it could be that it happens more around the Virgo time where something does come up with his health and he has to really think about his future. And I am getting that if he doesn't know about it yet which he probably has encountered some dietary restrictions in the past few years, it could be that and Virgo time something more serious comes in about that and he has to manage that or it could even be he's diagnosed with something and takes on that platform of making people more aware of whatever this thing is.

Like when people get sickle cell and then they want to talk about that. I don't know if it's health or if it will be that business related thing that I talked about but I do feel like he's going to be stepping up more to take on a platform individually. I'm not talking about just BTS doing United Nations that kind of thing I'm talking about JK supporting some type of platform that is meaningful to him specifically. Either related to health stuff or related to taking care of young artists or even both. He's thinking about it now I think but he's not ready to open up about things quite yet but from the end of July to late September or even into early fall, expect something like that.

Let's see in terms of numbers, I guess I see two fives and two tens... So in terms of numbers, there's emphasis on cycles and completing things as well as changes and challenges and difficulty. That could speak mostly about this military journey though because clearly that cycle is coming to an end and I imagine it wasn't super easy. But I do think that cycle is coming to an end and like that one card says goodbye to the old hello to the new.

In terms of colors, there's a lot of purple which is tied to both the crown and if you call it indigo then we could also say it's like your third eye type stuff so spirituality is big here as well as the color red which usually is about stability and structure which is pretty typical of an earth sign. There's also a lot of yellow so solar plexus and being confident there's a little bit of blue running through as well that would have to do with communication. Because the blue is so little I do wonder if this is tied to holding back about communicating certain things.

My guess is it's more coming from a place of needing to be responsible about something...

And even where there is blue, it's cards like ten of wands and the five of wands so I do think there is some type of difficulty in being able to communicate as openly as he wants to or even finding the time to communicate. Maybe particularly because he doesn't feel comfortable talking about what he's really feeling and that could be a military thing or it could be a part of the not wanting to start extra drama or conflict saying anything like really emotionally vulnerable or serious right now.

I think the focus has just been on being authentic in other ways and thinking about complex topics even if he's not aware of it and grounding himself in other ways. I think a lot of this is a natural process that he hasn't consciously been thinking about or realizing though he's aware of it. I think it's been a bigger transformation for him than he is even aware of now. It might be that once he steps out of the military headspace, he might see how much he got out of that situation or how much he learned about himself or the world or other people.

But I think that you will see that he's changed a lot once we are able to view him in public situations or more lives, I think you will see a noticeable maturity in him. I think he won't be as like I don't know I think he'll be a little bit more reserved to start. And I think that he's going to be more careful about his word choices from now on and be even more subtle than he probably already is and trying to get things through to his fans. Except for around Leo season, he might get a little wild for some reason or do something or at least be out there maybe it's just performing. And you might see something to do with sunflowers. That's really random but I often associate sunflowers with him anyway. He always carries around a lot of Leo energy with him even though I don't really think it's much in his chart

Except maybe his moon but

So I don't really see anything else but I feel stands out and that is a fair amount. I'm really anxious to see what happens for him in the fall and what he decides to become a champion of. And I also just think he'll be really busy focusing back on career and other things that he needs to take care of revolving around his own finances or whatever. And you can always make your own deductions from the cards. In terms of the elements and stuff too there was a lot of what to fire, actually three fire when you count the emperor and then three Earth when you count the hierophant and the water. There's not a lot of swords. Not a lot of you know like I said communication or thoughts and stuff. But I personally think it's just being hidden. And his energy is hiding that. Clearly homeboy probably is having lots of thoughts. And having conversations on the side with whomever.

But my impression is that there is a conscious effort to have withdrawn communication during this time and might continue to be that way for just a little bit longer. And even then I think he's going to filter his thoughts about things a bit. I could be wrong and maybe he'll blurt out all kinds of crazy stories but I am just feeling like because like how I told you that in the way that the cards shuffled out that there was sometimes a desire to push out two cards at once and sometimes it took me several shuffles before anything came out. So there's something definitely that he's holding back on doing and part of me thinks it is conscious and then part of me is like well he probably does want to talk but feels like he can't so you know it is what it is ...

I think you know if I ever talked with him I would want to talk about writing songs that are meaningful to him. I have thoughts on Golden as an album and then I have thoughts on the things that JK used to work on that were written by him. And I'm concerned that he thinks that he has an inability to come up with songs because he doesn't have anything that he thinks about. Of course he has things that he thinks about but I think he keeps comparing himself to other members.

And I don't doubt that he believes that he is a singer and that's what he wants to do but you can be a singer and a songwriter. I know he looks up to people like Billie eilish who are amazing songwriters and now that she's come out as well she obviously has more that she can probably work with and sing about. And I think when you admire people like that you probably want to do things like they are. So I hope that he is able to see himself differently that he figures out his process for how he can take whatever he feels or sees internally as symbols and can turn them into words or even if he can't do that on his own, if he can work with songwriters that are actually willing to listen to those things and help them write those kinds of songs

Because I would love to see him fulfill that part of himself where he could be really proud of a song that he writes that conveys something he felt. I think it comes from a place of insecurity personally. And hopefully with golden he was able to experience what it's like to sing for different genres and maybe now we'll consider doing a project where he is more involved in the songwriting. Or at least writing a couple songs for the next BTS album. Even if it's a collaboration of some sort. I'd like to see him game more confidence in that and realizing that he does have something to say.

And maybe that's another reason why the swords aren't here is he's still working out how to communicate those things. The visual of the feelings is coming through very clearly. I just don't know why he can't transform that vision into writing. It's something I can't do either. I have always been able to visualize my stories like a movie but if you ask me to write poetry I would want to throw myself through a window because I don't really get poetry even though I love songs which are essentially poetry. But poetry itself I don't really get and I bet JK struggles with that too even though he's clearly a romantic guy who can create videos that have this wonderful sort of aesthetically romantic appeal like all the gcfs are so visually pretty and tell this certain narrative but how can you transfer that skill into writing words and songs.. can you learn? I don't know. If you asked me to suddenly write songs and poetry myself it would be very difficult.

Some people just have a certain skill for those things like RM and suga... And jimin with face to me was able to find a way to write about those things but I really think the people around him helped him figure out that process and I hope JK is able to figure out that process because I think he will be more satisfied as an artist once he understands the satisfaction that could come with writing a song that is exactly how he feels and then other people can relate to it. Or even if he becomes an artist who expresses that feeling through a story like still with you. That's a beautiful song that isn't about a specific moment or feeling but conveys a very strong image of a place or story. Like every time I hear it I'm immediately thinking of a jazz bar and it's raining outside and there's kind of this romantic moment happening. Now he's created a concept just like somebody could with a video but he's done it through a song. So he can do it. I just wish she would believe in himself more. He's more than just a great singer. And there's nothing wrong with being a great singer. I just think that he's afraid to be ambitious because he doesn't think he can do it.

Hiatus update, the future of the blog, and my plans for summer (For the blog obviously

“Wow Crumb I’m so glad you’re telling us this I missed you so much, I missed your art” said nobody but whatever, here

There’s a TLDR at the bottom if you don’t wanna listen to me yap.

So I’ve been on hiatus for a while, mainly because I’ve been sick and thus not at school and we just had April vacation, and I draw most of my art during my classes not at home so I haven’t been drawing. This hiatus SHOULD end soon, I’m currently drawing things I want to draw right now, but I WILL KEEP MY PROMISE of my first update being a New Craft page, I’m just getting back into the swing of things and finding the motivation to do so. But I need to talk about something else first:

If you haven’t noticed I’ve had like 0 motivation to do any art things for a long time

The constant hiatuses and lack of NC updates aren’t random, it’s because I dread drawing them. And I believe I’ve figured out why: The fucking schedule. I’ve noticed every time while drawing today that I end up rushing through and drawing stuff I don’t particularly want to just to fill my stupid quota and get my stupid drawings done to shove them in my queue. The result is rushed art, lack of experimentation and thus things getting stale, and dreading having to do it so taking breaks. Also the barrage of boring, transparent background bs.

This also causes a lack of notes, especially for some reason after DW became trending I’ve seen to become a bit less popular for whatever reason, getting less notes per post. NC seems to be the only thing that gets me good notes (Other than that stupid fucking Goob post I did forever ago I spent like maybe 10 minutes on that blew up, that’s STILL getting notes) and do I even have to mention any posts with my ocs on it that aren’t sketch pages that also include DW ocs, that get like- less than 10 every time.

So uh yeah not much motivation and an unhappy Crumb, but I’m here for solutions not to bitch. So, I’m NO LONGER going to have an upload schedule for my art. I’ll try and upload once weekly at least but I’m sick of rushing on everything. I’m also going to try and stop making posts with no backgrounds and just one or two characters standing around (Ironic cause I’m drawing another one but that’s more for study than to make something peak) I will however continue to do my asks that have been sitting in my inbox since LAST FUCKING YEAR (I’m slow as HELL, also all my recents have been One Forsaken request and daily fucking Gaza posts from someone I suspect to be a bot since they’re always on anon???) so that won’t change

But yeah, that’s for the general blog but now we need Crumb lore.

So, for the past 18 years of my life, every summer, I either hardly draw at all or DO NOT AT ALL for the entire few months. It helps me basically “reset” and be able to more easily dump the stuff I don’t like about my art. This has never been an issue before this cause I’ve never had actual fans and more than like 10 followers that aren’t friends before now (Insane how much I’ve grown in one year)

So the summer uploads are a bit iffy but I have 2 ideas:

Also my Discord server is basically dead (Died after I had One Palworld hyperfixation) and I think most of them all lost interest in DW so if you guys wanna join please do I’m lonely there’s like 3 people who actually talk now help

...Electric Boogaloo.... what? Hey everyone, we reached the end of April, and I have some news about what's gonna happen next with the HeartPulse Project. Let's start with the good (or neutral) news: [ 1 ] I consider this month a success. Even in the last weeks, I got a bit late with the edits, but thankfully I managed to make an edit for every week in this month, so my plan is succeeded. [ 2 ] About that poll...

Few days ago I asked you about the heart visualization in the edits, and... I be honest, I surprised with the results. Even it's almost 50-50, most of you said "It's fine as it is", so the future edit stays the same as you are used to. [ 3 ] A (public) list Instead of making my own list public, I got the idea to make a public version for anybody who want to ask or request something.

It's still work in progress, but if it's done, I will make a post about it. And now the bad news: [ 4 ] We going back to the originally planned state I (finally) got the money for the renovation, which means I'm going back to semi-inactivity, as I originally planned. I have the asked edits on my list, so if I done with everything, I will came back with those. Until that, I will not gonna post a new edit. Thank you for your patience!

REINTRODUCING MYSELF

Hi gorgeous internet friends and readers, it has been a very long time since I last updated this blog.

I've spent a few months reflecting and redirecting myself, so I thought it was appropriate to make a return, and reintroduce myself.

My name is Gemma - I am the owner, writer and curator of this space!

I’m a writer, journalist, artist and lover from Melbourne, Australia.

If you’ve been here for a while you know that every year I make a list of 100 resolutions for each year on New Year’s Eve.

This year, I wanted to tackle my year a little differently - smaller list, bigger dreams!!

I’m not going to go through my entire list in detail here (you can watch a full video of the goals here if you like) but basically, I’m focusing on the bigger things that I’ve been chasing over the last few years that have remained just a little out of reach.

I know its April and the first quarter of the year has finished and it might seem silly to rehash my resolutions and goals for the year, but I think revisiting the goals is a great way to stay on track or to get back on the bandwagon of success.

I’ve already completed a few things and have other items to tick off very soon, which I am very proud of. One thing I’m really focused on achieving this year is keeping the promises I make to myself. It’s important for my own self-worth and for the journey of becoming the person I want to be – the best version of myself.

I have been engaging with a lot of self-help and betterment content recently and the one thing I have noticed is this idea that we won't get opportunities if we aren't ready for and I fully believe in this sentiment.

Every opportunity I've been lucky enough to get my hands on, I've already had and developed the tools I've needed to do well at. This was not just luck, it's boiled down to hard work and perseverance and time.

I'm a very determined person, this is something I know and accept about myself. Sometimes though, if I can't see or haven't see the result or the method of action done before me, I find it hard to imagine and come up with a plan for myself. Not always, but sometimes.

I've come to realise I need to work on trusting myself and my intuition and letting those things guide me, rather than letting my fears limit me.

So after a long break away from this blog, I'm recommitting to myself to posting something once a week and tracking my progress in following my dreams.

I've applied for a working Visa for the UK and (all things going well) am planning to leave in July. Before then I want to achieve as many of my 2025 goals as possible, as the move will need my full and undivided attention.

To do this, I have structured a plan and daily routine for myself, similar to a 75-Hard Day challenge.

This is more of a 75-Hard lite version, but a structured plan to follow nonetheless.

So the 10 rules I'm following are: 1. Drink 3L of water daily. 2. Clock in 10,000 steps - either walking, running and in general movement. 3. Practice pilates or yoga daily. 4. Read on chapter of a book daily. 5. Meditate for at least 10 minutes daily. 6. Journal or Morning Pages daily. 7. One ab circuit daily. 8. Sleep at a reasonable hour. 9. Maintain a healthy diet. 10. Vlog my daily activity.

To not hurt my progress I'm starting on Easter Monday and will be tracking my progress on my TikTok in daily vlogs – hope over there if you want to follow more.

I'm anticipating that the structure of my day will instil a sense of purpose for me, and get me keen to tick off more than just my daily 10 tasks.

I can't wait to update you in the coming weeks to see my progress on the challenge front and also on my 2025 list front.

There’s Three of You?! Pt. 9

FINALLY!!! New chapter’s here. I’m sorry for the delay, hope you enjoy it, and again, thank you for giving this story a shot!

Warnings: foul language, might be some medical inconsistencies.

CHAPTER 9

Will gave me a ride to the hospital today, we spent some hours at Molly’s last night with Jay -I told them about the baby and how I really wanted to strangle the young mother, but they both helped me calm down-, we arrived and checked on our patients, discharged the ones that needed it, and as the day started, we received one of the most complicated cases I’d ever seen.

“Trauma 4. Incoming.” said Maggie, Will and I turned to look, I grabbed my protective glasses and put them on, just like Will did. And just in time.

In came Brett, her partner, Severide and another firefighter holding the chandelier on top of our patient.

“45-year-old male, multiple penetrating injuries to the chest. GCS 12, BP's 90 over palp.” Brett gave us the rundown.

“Did you give him anything for pain?” asked Will

“We've given him 4 morphine and 500 saline.” said Brett’s partner.

“What happened?” I asked.

“Chandelier fell from about 20 feet and landed right on him.” said the Lieutenant.

“How long ago was this?” asked Will.

“Maybe 30 minutes.” answered Severide.

“Did he lose consciousness?” I asked.

“No.” answered Severide again. Now that’s impressive. I got into position, near the other firefighter and close to the patient’s head.”

“All right. Let's get ready to move 'em.” said Will.

“Very gently on my count.” we said at the same time, we looked at each other and nodded. “One, two, three.” we said again and we all lifted, placing the board on the bed.

“Ah!” the poor man moaned in agony.

“All right, can you tell me your name?” asked my brother

“Ru-Russel Ro-Rollins.” answered the patient, very clearly struggling to speak.

“Russel?” asked Connor as he walked up to the patient.

“Connor, oh, thank God. Help me.” said the man on the bed.

“All right, we're going to, bud.” said Connor

“All right, airway's in tact. Get me a set of vitals. Someone draw a gas and get a chest X ray.” ordered my brother.

“You know him?” I asked Connor.

“Since I was a kid. Russel, can you move your fingers and toes?” said Connor.

“I think.” answered Russel with difficulty.

“Where did this happen?” asked Connor.

“At the store.” said a woman’s voice, making Connor turn.

“Claire?” he asked, I turned to look at the woman, then at Connor and then back at the patient.

Not my place to pry in.

“Sat's 90. Heart rate's 124.” said my brother.

“All right, everybody, quiet.” ordered Connor, the room was engulfed in silence, only the monitors were emitting sound. “Russel, take a deep breath for me, huh?” said Connor, having put on his stethoscope and placing it gently on the patient’s left back side.

“I don't hear much on the left side. We're gonna need a chest X-ray. It's not optimal, but we're gonna do it from here.” Connor declared, I started to worry about what might happen if done wrong.

“Am I going to die?” asked Russel

“Hey, Russel, listen to me. No, you are not.” said Connor, I looked at him.

“No, you are gonna be fine, Russel. You're gonna be fine.” said the young woman.

“You have to wait over here.” said April, gently moving her to give us doctors room to work.

The X-ray machine arrived, as well as the coats, I was handed one, as well as everyone else who was close to the patient.

“All right, I'm gonna hold the plate from here. You just shoot as head on as possible, okay?” said Connor.

“Here, Russ. Listen to me. You're doing great, buddy. I just need you to keep as still as possible, please.”

“X-ray. Everyone clear?” said the technician.

“Clear.” we all answered.

The machine makes its distinctive sound, then the sound of the monitors comes back, I’m just waiting to see the result of the X-ray.

“Big hemopneumothorax with some shift. He needs a chest tube.” said my brother, he went to get the tray with the chest tube kit, when Connor pretty much took it from Will’s hands.

“I got it.” said Connor, moving the tray. “Who's the trauma attending on call?” he asked, I saw Will pretty much ripping off his gloves and glasses as he stepped out of the trauma bay, pissed off at being pretty much pushed aside from the case, I stayed behind to help if needed.

I just hope its not…

“Dr. Zanetti.” said April.

God fucking dammit.

“Page her. Tell her we need her down here right now.” ordered Connor.

“Got it.” said April.

“I'm sorry, are you family?” Maggie asked the woman.

“I'm--I'm his employer.” she answered then made a pause. “Claire Rhodes from Dolan Rhodes.” she said then.

“The department store?” asked Maggie

“Yeah.” she answered.

“Dr. Rhodes, is he–” Maggie started, but the woman Claire interrupted her.

“He's my brother.” she said.

That explains why Connor seems to want to avoid his last name… not that I would think of him any differently, he’s one hell of a good doctor.

Just then, my personal nightmare arrived.

“What are we looking at?” Zanetti asked.

“45-year-old male. Impaled glass in his left chest. Arrived hypotensive, but responded to blood and fluids. Left tension pneumo.” answered Connor from where he was finishing with the tube.

“That's a cluster.” she said.

No kidding.

“Oh, God.” I heard Claire say from outside the trauma room. One look from Zanetti and Maggie got moving.

“Ma'am, let me show you where you can wait.” said the head nurse and ushered the distraught woman away.

“Got a chest tube in on the left side.” said Connor.

“Pressure's improved. Base deficit was 8.” I said, just then Zanetti turned to look at me, clearly not expecting that I was even helping with this case.

“We need to get this thing off to see what we're dealing with. What did you sedate him with?” she asked again, turning his attention to Connor.

“Got two of Versed with the chest tube.” said the raven surgeon.

“Which one of you is in charge?” asked Zanetti.

“That's me.” answered Severide.

“I need to remove it without allowing this piece to vibrate in the slightest, so I'm thinking cuts here, here, and here.” she said, signaling the places and parts necessary.

“Yes, ma'am.” the Lieutenant answered.

Then the blonde woman turned to me.

“Hey intern girl, you’re not a surgeon, leave my trauma bay and let us real doctors work.” she said, with that damn self-satisfied smirk and her holier-than-thou attitude I despise so much. Connor’s expression, as well as April’s and Severide’s was one of pure surprise and shock.

“Oh, I’m sorry Your Majesty. First of all, I was one of the primary when the patient arrived, second of all, I’m not an intern, I’m a junior resident now.” As soon as I said that, Zanetti’s expression changed to one of surprise. “Third of all, he’s my patient too. I’m not leaving, deal with it.” I said, she looked like I had just smacked her in the face. I hold my ground.

At some point Reese came in, I didn’t want her to experience Zanetti’s horrible attitude, but there was no escaping that woman’s ego.

“I want a CTA of his chest ASAP. Figure out exactly what's bleeding.” Zanetti said.

“Got to get him on his back before we get him upstairs.” said Connor, getting one of the hand saws to cut the glass.

“Oh, you're gonna use--“ started Reese, but Zanetti cut her off in a very rude way.

“Yes, he is. Can you hold the patient steady please? Thank you.” she said in the worst possible tone.

I was holding the patient’s head, stabilizing his neck.

“Would it kill you, Dr. Zanetti, to be nice? Or is that stick you have so far up your ass that it's your default mood now?” I asked, I then heard a snort come from where Connor was standing, Zanetti looked at me like she wanted to kill me, I didn’t care.

“All right, hang in there, Russ.” said Connor, having regained his composture, turning the saw on and effectively cutting the glass.

“All right, we're gonna flip him over onto his back gently on my count. One, two, three.” Zanetti said, we all moved to reposition Russel.

“Okay.” Connor and I said at the same time.

“All right, let's start to package him up. Newbie, start a femoral line.” said the blonde surgeon. I had moved from my position at the head of the bed to be closer to the exit, but I ended right beside Reese.

Reese got the kit, but started to take too long in Zanetti’s eyes, before she could intervene in the worst way possible, I took charge.

“I got this Reese, Maggie support his neck for me please. Connor, you need any help?” I asked him, he looked at me, I moved my eyes towards Reese and then back at what I was doing, and it was enough for him to take the hint.

“I do, actually. Reese, get over here and help me splint the glass to keep it still.” he said, Reese moved over to him, they got to work. “One wrong move on the way, and he could have a massive hemorrhage.” Connor added as an afterthought, I wanted to slap him, rich guy or not.

I was finishing the line when Zanetti spoke again.

“Maggie?”

“Yep.” asked the head nurse.

“Call the blood bank. Tell them I want five more blood, five plasma, and six platelets typed and crossed.” ordered the blonde surgeon.

“Yes, ma'am.” said Maggie.

“All right, are we ready?” just as Zanetti asked, I covered the line, signaling I was done. And just like that, they rolled the patient out of the ED.

I took off my gloves and glasses, and nodded to Reese to follow me. We made it to an empty room and we both got inside. As soon as I closed the door, I turned to look at the other girl.

“Reese, you good?” I asked her.

“Who was that?” she asked.

“That would be Dr. Zanetti. The trauma surgery attending. A woman who believes that, because she’s a surgeon, she’s better than us 'mere mortals': the ED docs, interns, med students, residents, etc.” I explained, she looked down.

“She’s awful.” said Reese, I snorted.

“Yeah, she is. Don’t let her get you down. You’re talented and a very good student. You’ll make a great doctor one day.” I told her honestly, she looked up and I smiled at her. “Come one, let’s get back to work.” I said, she nodded, then placed her hand on top of mine over her shoulder.

“Thanks Dr. Halstead. I needed that.” she said, I let out the Halstead Chuckle®.

“It’s always a pleasure working with you Reese. If you ever need help with anything, I’m here for you, okay?” I asked her, she nodded, “Oh, and before I forget.” I added, Resse turned to look at me. “Call me Lilly, Dr. Halstead actually gets confusing when there’s two of us.” I say to her with a smile, and just like that, we went back to the ED.

They're calling it the storm of the decade… and although we just welcomed in spring, it looks like mother nature is not done with us. A snow storm is supposed to drop up to two feet of snow, as well as some ice afterwards, resulting in power outages and school closures throughout town. Good luck, Merrockites!

Welcome to our first plot drop of 2025! The OOC duration of this event is March 22 through April 5, and the timeline is as follows.

MARCH 22 -- weather warning issued.

MARCH 23 -- snow begins to fall late at night.

MARCH 24 -- snow day.

MARCH 25 -- snow day.

MARCH 26 -- snow tapers off.

MARCH 28 -- early morning ice storm.

MARCH 29 -- snowy, icy weather tapers off.

School will be closed all week, with kids expected to return on Monday, March 31st. There will be power outages throughout town, with loss early morning on the 24th of March, and return dates as follows:

DOWNTOWN: early March 25th.

SUBURBS: late night March 25th.

COASTAL AREA: various times March 26th.

COUNTRYSIDE: various times March 27th & 28th.

Road conditions in town are expected to be very poor. The countryside and further out in the coastal areas are expected to have the worst roads, with the suburbs and downtown a little more maintained, but traveling will be dangerous for the first few days. Please try to avoid going out, and if you do, make sure that you take your time and have the proper equipment!

With the announcement coming ahead of the storm, some Merrockites may plan to get together to weather the ... weather. Please travel carefully! Each area of town has at least one shelter open that will be providing food, water, bathrooms, generated electricity, and places to sleep for free if you need: Town Hall (downtown), Stubs (downtown), Breathe In (coast), Community Center (suburbs), North Shore (countryside), Harmony Ranch (countryside).

While the storm timeline is outlined above, we are giving this plot drop a two week window to start threads! It will run from March 22nd through April 5th. You do not need to end threads after that point, but you can't start them after the 5th.

Because we want to encourage people to not just start, but continue threads with random pairings, we are assigning writing partners for this plot drop. Each writer must reply at least twice to the thread before the event duration ends, and ideally, we would like to see the thread reach 10 notes before it is moved on from -- or even better? We'd love to see the thread seen all the way through! It is up to you and your partner to choose which characters to write as.

If your partner is simply not replying to you during the event, please reach out to the admin team. If they are otherwise active, and not responding to your thread, we will give them a nudge for you. If they go inactive, and you would like to still be able to participate, we will happily pick up the slack and write with you ourselves, or ask someone else active to take it on! Some things to take into consideration when plotting for this event would include:

where does your character live? who are their neighbors?

when the storm alert goes out, are they going to travel to spend time at one of the shelters, or with friends/family? or stick it out?

in a crisis, are they the type to lead and help others, or will they be relying on help?

how do they deal with no electricity?

what's their prep like? do they already have food, water and flashlights ready to go, or is it going to be a scramble to head to the very busy shops?

If you are looking for a place to start with ideas, here are some prompts that might help you out:

as the warning goes out about the storm, character A texts character B and asks them to buddy up and hang out.

unfortunately, character A wasn't paying attention to the alerts and got stuck on the road, asking character B to come save them.

character A and character B decide to get together to go shopping and stock up on needs before the storm.

alternatively, character A really needs some water, and character B just grabbed the last jug... what happens?

character A gets stranded on the road, and thinks they're in big trouble, until character B happens to notice them and helps.

character A and character B are together when they lose power, and build a fort to stay warm.

character A gets the brilliant idea to try to shovel their driveway and slips on ice, asking character B to nurse them.

character A needs help clearing their walks and asks character B to come do it, with the promise of cocoa.

the food is going bad! quick, character A, bring your generator over to help character B!

character A & character B have had enough of sticking it out and decide to walk to a shelter for food & drinks.

a dumb idea, character A and character B go ice skating, but the snow is heavy, and the ice had started to thin... do the math.

character A ends up crashing their car, and character B comes to help them out of the ditch.

character A shows up on character B's door step, cold, with no food at home, asking if they can hang out.

IMPORTANT NOTE: we will allow slightly heavier plots during this drop, such as injuries! However, we cannot have every single person in the group breaking an arm when they fall on the ice. Please send me a message here on main, so that I can know who is planning on doing what if you are doing something like an injury, car accident, heaven forbid getting some frostbite, falling in the ice, anything that might be triggering or a little bit heavy to read. You won't be told no! It's just a good idea for us to keep tabs.

We really, really hope that this can be an immersive, fun event for everyone to get involved in, that it might inspire some other fun interactions outside of what you are assigned! We will do a plot / thread call post in the OOC, as well, for anyone looking to plot and have fun. xx

We're looking at another beautiful day here in the city. It's been 3 months since the invasion and today is officially end of construction! We had some clouds stat the morning off and temperatures are in the 40s.

Tomorrow's forecast will be up in the 60s.

This is Alison Cooper of Channel 06. Reporting to you Live at 7:30pm at the new Channel 06 office."

Running along the building rooftops, the red-eared slider and the time traveler checked out the new scenery as many radios played "We'll Meet Again" as many citizens cheered and chatted with one another happily. Casey couldn't help but stop, looking down at the scene with a small smile.

What a relief-

"C'mon, Case! We gotta meet the guys at the bridge!", Leo called for the raven hair time traveler.

Casey snapped out of his reminiscing thoughts, seeing the red-eared slider carry 25 boxes of pizza's on both of his shoulders while he carried 10 boxes.

"Couldn't you just make a portal?", Casey asked, a brow raised as they both jumped over to another roof.

Leo shrugged with a grin, "I could buuuut I wanted to check on all my peeps."

Casey couldn't help but chuckle in response to the turtles sentence. Leo was so much like his sensei and him checking in on the people showed it. He truly loved this city with all his heart and the actions he & his family showed- well, it showed. After the battle was done and over, the city began to rebuilt itself from the ground up for 3 month, the small group of heroes wanted to celebrate their victory against the Krang.

But it wasn't just that but they celebrated the city's quick recorvery.

Things were not easy for either side. The entire city was traumatized by the invasion. Some were missing or were dead while loved ones were left behind. It truly was a deadly horror for the city and it people, and the Hamato family certainly didn't recover as quickly as they should. When they returned underground, Casey and April helped anyway they could to with the four turtle brothers from their injuries, especially with Splinter.

But let's start with the brothers:

▪︎ Raphael had injured eye, left arm burned up to his neck, and a broken rib which resulted a crack on his plastron.

▪︎ Donatello's right arm was burned just like Raph's and his shell has many deep scratches due to him attaching to the ship. So, whenever cold and slime or just anything touches his shell, his sensory goes off intensely and s3nds him in a panic fight or flight mode.

▪︎ Michelangelo had burns going up both his arms all the way up to his face (cheeks), and luckily only had a bump on his head.

▪︎ Leonardo had not only a crack in the side of his plastron on the left side, he had a large crack going down his shell, and his right leg was messed because now he has a limp whenever he walks.

▪︎ Lastly, Splinter had not only a broken back but he had dislocated his right foot and the whole family found out that he had Cancer. No one truly knew how long it had been growing but it was severe.

Surprisingly, he and April didn't have any but scratches but still, Casey was grateful for it all.

If he hadn't come back to warn them of the Krang- if he wasn't here to help fight them off, then none of this would still be here.

Leo turned to Casey, observing the small relief look upon the teens face before he placed his tall stick of pizza boxes on Casey's, "Just for a second. Making a portal!"

And with that, Leo made a portal, taking the boxes back before he and Casey walked through to find the group setting up their spot.

"You made it!", Mikey cheered, rushing over to the boys.

Casey nervously grinned, "Yeah, we kinda took a detour. Leo wanted to show me-"

"A new skate board trick!", Leo interrupted Casey, sending him look.

The three brother looked amongst one another before shrugging going back into setting things up for the small party.

"You guys can set the boxes next to the wall.", Donnie told the duo who walked over to the wall.

This was a great view.

"Hey, so I gotta ask. You said you only ate leaves and rats, right?", Leo asked, setting his boxes down.

"Uhh, yeah. Why?"

"Have you ever had Pizza in the apocalypse?", Leo asked once more, awaiting for the teen to answer.

"No, I don't even what that is but Master Leonardo told me that when I got done saving the world, I should grab a slice?? Whatever that means-"

"DUDE!!", Leo shook the boy, who was growing dizzy by the rapid movement. The slider looked over at his brothers, his dad, and April who seem to overheard the conversation, "Guys, we got to give this man a taste of flavor!!"

"Raph's on it!" Raph said, grabbing the first box from the stack.

While Leo sat the boy down on the ground, Mikey, Donnie, April, and Slinter made way for Raph brought the box over. Opening it, Raph held the box out for the raven hair boy, whole looked at it with doubt before looking at the smiling group.

Hesitate, Casey grabbed a piece of pizza, "So, this grabbing a slice? I don't get it?"

"Wait for it!"

Casey brought the pice up to his face, skeptical before he took a bite out of the cheesy substance and the next thing he knew was that his mouth was in heaven. The teen moaned with delight, his eyes sparkling, "So much better than rats~!"

The teens nod in agreement while Slpinter looked quite offended by this lol

"Hey, the rest of the world we saved is pretty great too!", Leo said, handing an arm over Casey's shoulder.

"ALRIGHTY EVERYONE! LOOK UP HERE!!", April snag a picture of the group before showing it off to Casey.

In that moment, Casey let out a soft gasp to see that it was almost exact to the photo he was given only now it had him in it. It made him wish that his family was somehow watching over him. Looking up at the group, watching them smile and laugh at whatever Leo was doing before a message came through the phone. "Hey April, you just got a message from someone name Cassandra?"

"Whoa! Looks like our friend Cassandra was busy-"

"THAT'S MY MOM?!", Casey exclaimed in shock, making the other come to a complete stop, "There goes a space time continuum."

The group basically ambushed the poor teen with teasing and questions while Raph hung with his slider brother from the side. Everyone on the other side of this screen knows what happens in this scene and how it ends but not all know what happened from the other side of the spirit world side.

For once, Casey's wish had come true. His family was always by his side...

In that moment, standing behind the group and watching their interaction with th young time travelet, the glowing ghosts of the future's past smiled at the scene. "Man, who would have thought time travel would be the answer~", the older ornate box turtle teased, nudging his elbow into the older spiny soft-shell.

"Ugh, please not now Michael!", Donatello groaned, rolling his eyes.

Michelangelo chuckled softly before they both looked where Casey and the rest of the group were at, taking it all in. He sometimes couldn't believe it. Those small teens saved the world and now the future was no longer in danger.

"I still can't believe they did it." Raphael grinned.

"Same here. Even though their us, they seem a little different, don't you think so, Leo?" April asked the slider but all the sibling quickly notice his sad and worriedsome look. "Leo? Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah, I just...", the slider paused, looking over his shoulder but let out a sigh, "Do you think he'll be okay...", looking at the scene in front of him.

Raphael glanced over at Leonardo before looking back at Casey, who was laughing and smiling at whatever Donnie had said while Mikey was pouting. Raph placed a hand on his brother's shoulder, "I think he'll be just fine, Leo... if anything, this Leo will be able to help him and handle anything that come their way. Just like you did, little brother."

Leonardo could only keep his eyes on his student- his surrogate son in front him with a smile, taking in his brother's words to heart. He was right. Casey will be alright and it's all because of these small teens that he can have a new chapter to his life. But he was scared to leave him. He wasn't ready. What if something happens thatvwas more dangerous than the Krang? There wasn't a lot of dangers but even the yokai and mutants they fought were crazy powerful but then he head his other self talking to his brother: "This wasn't about me. This was about all of us doing what needed to be done because we're heroes."

"Hah, you said heroes~", Raph chuckled, holding his pizza out for his brother.

Leo chuckled silently before pumping his pizza with his brother before they all took a bite of pizza.

That's when they all were mesmerized by the beautiful scenery of New York basked in the sunset colors. "There is it, gentleman. Our home. What a town."

"Beautiful...", Mikey said in awe.

"And if it need defending, we'll always rise up to the challenge."

Man, was he always like this? The ghostly slider grinned as he watched the young snapping turtle get a playful smirk, "You what challenge I'm rising to? BEATING THAT RECORD!!"

"Yeah... I think I'm ready now.", Leonardo told his siblings who only smiled and they all continued to watch the scene, watching Raph place all the pizza boxes on top of his head while the group cheered him on. Casey grinned and laughed as Raph began to make his way down the bridge but before when could follow behind the other, he felt a shift in the air. Nothing bad but this energy felt familiar and he looked around him, he saw no one but that didn't mean he shoved off the thought. He always saw Master Michelangelo meditating and talking to his ancestors that passed on but many believed he was crazy. But not Casey. He believed it was them.

The young raven hair boy smiled as he looked at the sky, the ghostly freezing in their spot as see him stare at them.

"I'll be okay. Thanks to you, I got a second chance with our family.", Casey said, his eyes becoming glossy but his smile never faded, "See you later, dad."

With that, he turned around and began to walk down the rail while Leonardo and the rest of the Hamato ghost siblings looked at Casey's retreating form. The slider couldn't believe his hears what he just heard. Dad. Casey called him dad and his felt like it wanted to burst even though he was dead. He had so many emotion building up inside him: pride, happiness, and hope for the young boy that tears began to build up in his eyes. His chest heaved up and down heavily as he tried controlling his breathe, their weight in his heart growing as tears finally streaming down his face like an endless waterfall, and with one last action, the world to seem to move in slow motion. The slider had wrapped his arms around the teens small figure, "You're the best, Casey Jones. Thank you...", Leo whispered in the teen ear.

His voice had reached the teen and as the teen turned around he saw no one behind nor did he sense the presence.

He smiled for he knew and continued down the metal rails to meet with the other.

Will & Monique Chapter 2

Here’s the next chapter guys! This couple will be a slow burn for the first couple of chapters but I promise we will get there. This story will be much slower to update than RRR which is currently my priority. I want to try the gap up to 4x19 where this started and where I am with RRR. I'm pretty far behind. This story won't follow chapter by chapter like the other one-I'm giving myself a lot more creative freedom but it will follow med storyline-ish.

Will keeps a close eye on Monique for the next week. He had been monopolizing her on his service, just to make sure she was okay. Not that she had done anything worrying. She seemed fine and did her job up to the standard that she always has. She may have been a little more withdrawn or tired but it was hard for Will to tell.

Monique had always been on the quieter side. She didn’t seem to gossip or linger around the nurse's station. He never noticed how much of a busy bee Monique was. The girl didn’t sit still. They were having a pretty relaxed night shift yet every time he turned, he seemed to see a flash of her blonde ponytail heading off somewhere new.

He had been asked to cover a couple of night shifts while the night ED doctor went to a wedding in Seattle. When he had come for his shift Monique had already been there. Her name was listed for a double shift. He had caught her in the longue an energy drink in her short-manicured fingers. The can was orange with scales and a yellow eye printed on the side. “Venom- mango flavored,” Monique's startled her turning to see Will heading towards his locker the door closing softly behind her. “I didn’t take you for an energy drinker.”

Her eyes glanced down to the can before going back to Will. “I know they are bad for you but I’ve been drinking them since I was thirteen and I can’t quite give them up.” She admits tapping her fingers on the can.

“Well, I imagine you crave them when you are pulling doubles and the crash is starting to hit.” Will shot her a charming smile putting his stethoscope around his neck. She smiled back at him taking another small sip. They were the only things that could get her through when her insomnia struck and she was having a minor bout at the moment. It was why she had offered to work a double.

“I didn’t know you were on a night rotation Dr. Hal-” Will gave her a pointed look and she corrected herself, “Will.” He had told her to start calling him by his first name last week and she still was having trouble with it. She didn’t call any of the doctors by their first names. It was too personal and seemed like only Maggie and April could pull off at work.

“Yeah, well Mack is in Seattle for a wedding, so they needed the coverage.” They were interrupted by another nurse coming in and calling for Will for an incoming trauma. Monique downed the rest of the liquid, tossing the can in the trash as she followed him towards the door. She paused only mildly surprised when he held the door open for her allowing her to go out first.

The next few hours went by in a blur. The ED wasn’t busy but it had a steady inflow. Will was heading to check on the car accident victim who was brought in at the beginning of his shift. He was an older Latino man who spoke no English and had his wife translate for him. He was checking his tablet for his test result as he was entering the room. He heard the man speaking, conversation flowing easily even with his bruised ribs.

Will had assumed he was talking to his wife but when he looked up, he saw that blonde ponytail. Monique was smiling brightly at the man her arms crossed leaning on the rail of the bed as she laughed lightly nodding along with what he was saying. Will paused and watched as her voice got slightly higher than he was used to hearing and Spanish words fell from her lips. It sounded natural and thoughtless as the man patted her arm.

The man noticed Will and grinned at him calling out El Medico. Will Spanish was limited at best but even he knew that one- doctor. Monique turned to face him feeling guilty for slacking off but Will was all smiles. “I didn’t know you spoke Spanish.”

“I don’t really.” At his raised eyebrow she felt the need to explain further, “That is I didn’t do it in school- I'm not certified for it.”

“I don’t think you are giving yourself enough credit. You seemed pretty proficient to me.” Monique looked down her face flushing at his complement, even if she didn’t feel the same.

“I get by,” She offered instead. Monique had only ever taken one Spanish class in high school. It had been an easy A. She didn’t remember ever really learning to speak it. But most memories of her childhood were often blurred, especially her earlier years. She just remembered being young and her father dropping her off at her half-brother's house. He had left almost immediately after and she was left in a crowd of strangers. One was his ex-girlfriend who wasn’t a big fan of his gringa daughter.

A pale white ghost amid a festive Hispanic family. Most didn’t speak English so she had been confused and felt out of place in the house. It had soon become a pattern on her father’s days with her she would be dropped off there. Monique didn’t remember the struggle of learning Spanish. It happened like a flip of a light switch. One day she couldn’t understand them the next she was speaking it fluently.

“Do you feel comfortable enough to translate?”

When the shift was over Will caught Monique on the stairs to leave, calling her name to get her to wait up. “Hey, I’m sorry to keep you. I know you are probably ready to go home and get some sleep. But I just wanted to check in and see how you were holding up.” The nurse's eyebrows scrunch together as she thinks over her shift and what he could be referring to. Noticing her confusion Will continued, “After the lockdown. I just wanted to make sure you were still doing alright. That you were getting the support you need.”

“Oh,” That was not what the blonde was expecting. Dr. Charles had been keeping his eye on her consistently popping by to make sure she was okay but she hadn’t thought Will would still be worried about her. “Thank you, for checking in. I’m doing okay. How about you Dr.-Will?” He looked as surprised as she felt when she redirected the question back at him.

“I doing okay. I’ve learned from my experience with the Burkes that you have to talk about this stuff to keep your head straight. So, I’ve been talking to Dr. Charles.” Will wasn’t sure why he told her that, maybe she was just easy to talk to. Monique didn’t seem to have a judgmental bone in her body.

“Me too,” Monique offered her camaraderie. Will gestured for her to start down the stairs. When they reached the bottom, he started ushering her to the parking lot offering to walk her to her car but she stopped pointing in the opposite direction. “Actually, I took the bus.” His hand went to her midback the warmth soaking through her clothes. He pressed gently urging her forward. The touch was natural and guiding but it was the most physical affection she had gotten in months.

“You’ll be waiting for another half hour. C’mon, I’ll drive you home.” Monique looked back at the empty bus stop. He was right, the first bus wasn’t even running yet. The sun was peeking out its rays warm but the wind chill was cold and cutting. A warm car with a direct route home sounded like heaven but she didn’t want to impose on anyone. Especially not a higher-up at work.

“I can’t ask you to do that.”

“You didn’t. I offered.” His brown eyes were as warm as his tone but bore no room for argument. When they reached his car, he opened the passenger door waiting for her to climb in before closing the door behind her.
