i would like to say my ideal PJO adaptation (if i was being physically forced against my will to have to pick a live action adaptation over an animated one for some reason) would be a combo like writing of the musical + casting of the show + visuals of the movies

BUT the show actually does have the playwright for the musical as one of the major writers for like three episodes and that did nothing for it. so...

#pjo #riordanverse #pjo tv crit #i do love the casting for the musical lots and lots though #it was really good #i do also have some nitpicks for show casting but they're largely inconsequential #like majority i very much enjoy and think are cast well #i only have one i'd say im actually disappointed with and that's Poseidon. idk he just feels. bland??? does that make sense?#like idk maybe it's the costuming but im not getting Sea God *or* Fishing Dad from him #like i think i kinda see what they were going for and i saw some gifs of him in another show where he plays a pirate and its like #okay. *little* bit better. but idk im just not getting Poseidon from it #in general most of the immortals in the show dont feel very Immortal(tm) but thats definitely mostly just the writing/show itself #not any reflection of the casting #my only other two are i would have liked plus sized Clarisse. i am VERY sad we didnt get that #Dior is a VERY good Clarisse though so i'm not too upset about it. i like her Clarisse energy. the yelling is fantastic.#my most controversial pjo tv take is im still meh on Walker. like he's fine. but like he's kind of Just Fine to me so far #its probably mostly the writing being bad but he hasnt grown on me as Percy yet. i can tell he has the energy though in interviews n stuff #and the main trio dynamic in interviews and stuff is *very* good. i just wish the show writing was better #because the casting IS very good but they have so little to work with. you can really tell theyre trying their best #i like to joke the show would be better if they just set the cast loose in the woods doing in-character improv #like its clear basically all of them know their characters SUPER well. id watch 8 episodes of in the woods pjo cosplay improv.

I'm hoping episode 3 let's Ruby see the dark side of the Doctor. I feel that adds a very important dynamic to a Doctor-companion relationship, when they see how dark he can be and still choose to travel with him early on.

Rose watching Nine drag Cassandra back to die. Eleven yelling at Amy "Nobody human has anything to say to me today!" Donna begging Ten to stop drowning the spider babies, and then again to go back and save someone in Pompeii.

Fifteen has been FUN and I know he can do emotional range, I've seen his fear and his tears already. But I want to see him dark, and I want to see Ruby respond to that. I think it would add a LOT of depth to their relationship and is something missing.

Plus showcasing the Doctor's flaws (selfishness) will make him a much more interesting character. I want to see some conflict between the Doctor and Ruby.

#happier times. kind of #i know irving's wife died in childbirth she was an academic like him but you know. woman in the 1910s/1920s #she wasn't gonna be recognized like him. she did go to college though she came from a fairly wealthy family #so did irving but his family was a lot richer #i don't know much about their relationship yet though #sidney is the only thing irving has ever loved other than himself and the only thing he'd ever put above himself i know that much #and even then i think he subconsciously kinda thinks of sidney as an extension of himself but we dont have time to unpack that #but yeah irving did not trust /anyone/ with him especially as it became clear that he had a lot of health problems #he took him with him everywhere. it would be cute to an extent but he's actually very overbearing lol #irving has very fond memories of when sidney was a baby though he'd never felt like that before #ppl he knows watching him like. who is this man #then he'd speak to them and they'd be like yeah ok he hasn't changed actually #ts4 #irving #sidney

according to topaz's trailer yt desc her 'Comprehensive Performance Evaluation' is 8th, she's also the 8th person shown in the stoneheart myriad celestia trailer (ascending order)

so if u could apply this to the other stonehearts the order goes like (descending) opal, obsidian, jade, sapphire, pearl, aventurine, sugilite, topaz, agate, amber

so what i'm saying is my hc is that sugilite is an aventurine hater bc he's one tier lower than him or to make it funnier, aventurine was a tier below sugilite but after coming back and winning the trial his evaluation rank went up higher

i ALSO love the loumand argument in 2×05 because we get book spoilers without it really being telegraphed to the audience, cuz it's just lost in the midst of these two spitting acid at each other. why does louis talk about armand being forced into celibacy? why does louis mention armand chopping his hands off? tune in next season to find out! it feels like peering through the veil.

Not sure how important this is to people but:

If I draw something that you think should be tagged for whatever reason (alcohol mention, cussing, a specific ship) you can totally send an ask to say so! I don't think much of it when I draw it but if anything topically is something you would rather I tag... please tell me. I am just drawing what makes me happy most days but that doesn't mean I want you to be uncomfortable looking at it!

Also in regards to ships: I can try to use my best judgment for it but I'm prone to enjoying banter and stupid/silly conversations that are not intended as romantic. So I do draw people interacting that I might ship but in a platonic (to me) interaction and I don't think it would count as tag-worthy for it.

i dont think kaveh and alhaitham were romantically involved back in the akademiya. and in fact i believe that the repressed pining particularly from kaveh's part made their friendship breakup worse

My partner finally finished BG3 but has no idea that his ending was actually bad cause he was a pro-Vlaakith githyanki who rode off with Lae'zel but got NO EPILOGUE where Withers points out y'all died im 😭😭😭

they have no idea what happened with Gale or anyone else (who was still alive) after flying away 🙃🙃🙃
