A sword for Mike

Like others have pointed out, the Castle Byers in this flashback is the one we see in the UD (no microscope when Joyce and Jon look for Will) So, if the UD is really made of different memories, then the Castle Byers with the sword is the one where Will is attacked.

But there's something weird going on there. 1) I don't see any sword when El finds Castle Byers, but inside, it is the Castle Byers with the microscope, so the one with the sword (more about this in a second)

2) The creature is not alone. It's too far from Castle Byers to destroy it, and Will sees a shadow. We still don't know what really happened there!

I also noticed something in S3 that could be connected to that specific moment.

I don't think Max's line "Mike will come crawling back to you in no time, begging for forgiveness" is just there to show that Mike actually looks for Will. I think the "crawling back" is connected to going back in time (maybe through memories?) Steve "crawling backwards", Max and El being brought back, El being dragged on the floor in the Rainbow Room, before she sees the past. And when Mike "comes crawling back to Will, begging for forgiveness", he finds him at Castle Byers.

In S3 Max and El are called "a different species" by the boys because, they say, they act on emotions -> Max mentions Mike crawling back in no time -> because "time is funny and emotions can speed it up or slow it down. We're all time travelers..."

So, I think the line about him crawling back, finding Will at Castle Byers, and the sword, mean that Mike will save Will

This could be another clue: when El finds Will, before Castle Byers is destroyed, we see everyone's reaction but Mike's. Interesting choice, since he spends the whole season trying to prove that Will is alive.

No reaction, no sword (because he "has it", or, he will have it? He will be there, in the UD. Well, I don't know if he'll really use it, but I think the sword represents Mike)

El gives him his watch, and behind her the words Home and Time

The title of the first episode of S5 is The Crawl, and the first scene is Will singing (imo) in the UD

But Mike must hurry, because in the S3 campaign, which is paralleled to the one in S1 (The vanishing of Will Byers, The case of the missing lifeguard) there's a trap, a distraction, an ending that is not good, not the real ending ("No, let's finish for real"): dying and then living on as heroes in someone's memories. Mike is even mocking Will here, the only time it happens. And we see Will angry for the first time.

And what does he do? He yells: "FORGET IT, Mike!"

Then he goes to Castle Byers and destroys his memories. Castle Byers is destroyed, like it was destroyed in the UD (Mike was too late)

Another parallel between the campaigns: Mike doesn't understand Will in S3 (before Will destroys his memories and senses that the Shadow is back) and he doesn't understand what he's saying about the roll (before Will vanishes)

They need to communicate, let their emotions guide them, through time and space, and they will find each other. Getting to Mike is the key, and he can't be late anymore, or we don't know what happens if Will doesn't remember anything. If there's nothing left and Joyce's boy is gone

I don’t know if this is helpful to the community at large or anything, but I wanna talk about in-system pregnancy for a second.

It’s not an actual pregnancy. I feel like that’s common sense. It’s not going to cause the symptoms that pregnancy would, at least not truly. (Maybe psychosomatic symptoms at most.) People who are pregnant internally should not be in spaces for people who are bodily pregnant. (Again, I feel like that should be common sense, but I have unfortunately seen it.)

That said, a lot of what happens internally can be metaphorical, or for healing purposes. There’s a dozen reasons, just off the top of my head, that a brain might perceive a system member as pregnant.

I’ll use myself as an example. Someone in my system was internally pregnant, and, as we perceived it, gave birth to another system member. As far as I can tell, this in-system kid’s whole purpose is to just be a happy kid that’s never known suffering. Which means a lot to me as someone whose childhood was primarily suffering.

I consider this a split. The system member who ‘gave birth’ to her was happy during that time, but there was so much going on in my life around then, so much stress. Maybe I needed something joyful to focus on.

I can understand why a lot of systems may not have this experience, but I also think it’s ridiculous to say “that’s not something that can happen”. Without giving too many details, a lot of my own trauma involves babies/pregnancy, to a point that I likely would be very awkward around children if not for our in-system kid who I’ve learned to interact with. (Obviously an in-system kid is a lot different from an actual child, but it helped bridge the gap for me.)

To recap: In-system pregnancies are not the same as physical pregnancies, of course they’re not, but that doesn’t mean they don’t happen. They are their own, separate things.

“Colin has redeemed himself” by doing what?? Becoming eye-candy for you so you suddenly see value and worth in him as a character because he’s ‘hot’? And redeemed himself from what exactly? Being a normal boy who has is own feelings and thoughts about people, including his friends and family?? Suddenly now that he’s had a ‘glow up’ y’all are accepting of him as a lead character and thinks he’s worth your breath and energy, while in the same breath calling him ugly and fat and not a pointless annoying side character???

These are not just characters appearances you’re commenting on, there are actual actors who play these roles and who have to see these fuckass comments of you berating their appearances all bc you don’t ‘like’ their character (who has done nothing wrong to you personally, mind you). Fuck this person for saying such shitty things about Luke. You don’t have to like a character but coming for the actors appearance when they’ve done nothing wrong is fucking low and shows what kind of person you are now that you think he’s ‘fuckable’. And reducing a character and the actors worth to nothing but sex appeal you think they provide for you is insane.

Truce - Ch3 Preview 2/?

This is in reference to this. I’m agog that I’d somehow forgotten to share this upcoming scene in Truce its entirety—when I thought I had. Honest mistake, luvs. I shall rectify it immediately.

A snippet of my favorite part from this lil interview section:

“Not to worry. Between you and me”—the chair creaked as he leaned in, lips quirked sideways, his brows expressive, and his hand hovering beside his cheek—“Butcher and I got a secret bromance happening behind the scenes, I tell you what.” The discreet Lavalier microphone clipped somewhere on Homelander’s supersuit had picked up the hushed whisper, making the audio crisp and clear. Thirteen different camera angles captured Jimmy’s brows shooting up. He repeated, “A bromance.” “Yep. A bromance for the ages. Color me stoked.” The plastic shell of his features melted away, resembling a more complete flesh-and-blood human. Easing back into his seat, Homelander said, “I just think, like with any large and aggressive attack dogs, as owners we have a responsibility to properly train and socialize them. Now I don’t own a dog myself but if I did, I would keep my mutt on a short leash—and obedient only to me. He won’t bite, not unless I tell him to.”

A/N - I’m sure y’all remember Jimmy Fallon’s cameo in S1. It only makes sense to replace Translucent with Homelander now. I originally considered Cole Cameron to ask the hard hitting questions, but he dies in S4 (thanks, Ashley). So I elected to not go with him.

And the line about Butcher not being caped but quite clearly dark is lifted from the comics, as a lil Easter egg ;) but I changed it from Black Noir to Billy because Homelander’s doubling down on the lie/ cover story that he’s the one who “reached out his hand and brought Billy back from the path of villainy by inviting him into the Seven” 🙄
