Once upon a time, when I was only about ten, my parents bought me a little waterproof backpack for our family hiking days. I used it for a while, then it ended up in my closet being used to store random things, and then many years later I needed a backpack and pulled it out and started carrying it again. I kept carrying it until the zips broke and the lining debonded and the waterproof fabric tore, and at that point it was about thirty years old and officially very dead.
But I happened to need a new wash bag. So I cut that faithful old backpack up into the biggest pieces of waterproof outer and lining I could salvage, pulled the last working zip from one of the pockets, added a carabiner clip from one of those reusable water pouches that had also died on me and a D-ring that I literally found in the street on my way to the corner shop one evening... and I've been using this for about three years now and it works great.
(Plus it makes me smile knowing that my old backpack that went on so many adventures with me isn't just disintegrating in a landfill somewhere. There are no downsides to upcycling! ^_^)

jp fans out there like, at long last i have decided to sell my merch. it was kept unopened and unused in the original box in a humidity-controlled room with no direct sunlight and i dared not even look at it more than once semi-annually for nine years for fear my gaze would damage it. buyers, please be aware that oxygen has touched the outside packaging of the product and only buy if that doesn't bother you.
meanwhile me, with the merch i buy,

started my day out feeling like crap (thanks allergies) and it only got worse because we ended up having to see my mom for an extended period of time so I'm just going to chalk today up as a loss and disappear into my google docs until it's time for bed.
I am so envious of anyone that currently has / had a good relationship with their mother growing up because mine is and has been fucking exhausting on every level for as long as I can remember.
The ONLY redeeming quality about today is that after a literal year of searching I finally found the hot mustard Doritos and they are so fucking good that it was worth every second of my treasure hunt.

I am learning embroidery!
I told @dogtiber this, and she encouraged me to try it different ways- including excluding the hoop.
I told her I would be using the hoop, as I suspected creature crime would throw me off otherwise.
The creature also happened to have a thought on this. My man put his face into the bag with my brand new embroidery supplies, fresh from the store, and puked.
He used. My supply bag. As a vomit bag.
And as I was seeing if any of the fabric I'd just bought to practice with was salvageable without a treatment, man's decides to roll around on the fabric. Then comes back and gets in the way with a toy.
I DIDNT EVEN GET TO USING THE HOOP. I am not confident in the future of creature input on this endeavor.

my goat is the guy that despite knowing his car doesn't suit him (and especially doesn't suit this track) he still puts in the work through every weekend to understand what he needs to do even if it's the opposite of his driving style - and he doesn't change who he is, from friday to sunday he just adapts to it. puts 3 tenths on his teammate and was only 0.050 behind norris who just got some good fucking upgrades likee

I am now washing my last raw fleece ! its the remaining half of the hampshire I bought last year. Man, its gross. I wonder if this part has some canary stains and wool rot...it looks pretty suspicious but I'll wash it and see.
So far this last week or so I've washed 1 jacob lambsfleece, 1 shetland/clun forest fleece, 1 massive shetland moorit fleece...about 10 pounds total. Also dyed several pieces of fleece. Was nervous about the jacob because its so fine and was so lanoliny, i was worried i might felt it or harsh it. but nope ! beautiful.
Of course I already have projects to work on, so I just put these all in bags and hung them on the wall.

is there anything more frustrating than helplessly watching your lovely fresh greens go bad days before they were supposed to?
