You’re an idiot if you think Israel is trying to prevent civilian deaths. People have been killed by snipers. Children have been killed by snipers. You literally can’t shoot multiple children in the head accidentally with a sniper rifle.
have you heard of knock bombs? i have. theyre a specific type of bomb created by israel to knock on the building before destruction so people have a chance to get out.
have you heard about the public announcements? i have. israel has called houses and sent texts and rained fliers out of the damned sky telling the people of the gaza strip where exactly they will bomb and when. those who call have specific training on palestinian culture and all speak their arabic dialect.
have you heard about the attempted ceasefires? i have. earlier in this conflict ceasefires were attempted. less than half an hour after the first one was put into effect hamas sent rockets into tel aviv.
when palestinians die, it’s good pr for hamas. they don’t care that their people are starving to death despite the monumental amount of aid theyre receiving (including american mre’s, which are of higher quality than typical aid packages) because they can commandeer the food and sell it back to their people. however israel is inventing entirely new ways to conduct warfare just to keep palestinians from dying unnecessarily. do you think america rained down fliers on the people of iraq, afghanistan, korea, vietnam? do you think the same of putin in ukraine? churchill in dresden? knock bombs are an israeli practice, no one else has ever used them in regular warfare.
reconsider your position or shut the fuck up. you’re wasting everyone’s time.

Hey, how are we feeling about the hostage deal?
I know it's complicated, with the rational side knowing that this isn't a fair or good deal.
But then it's amazing to know that there will be hostages returning home, and it's understandable to celebrate this.
It's also important to recognize that Gaza violated the ceasefire fifteen minutes after it went into place, and that Israel still cares enough about the hostages to try and continue the deal.
So yeah, I understand that it's complicated, both rationally and emotionally. Feel free to discuss your own feelings on what's going on here.
Antisemites will be blocked, I am not engaging with y'all anymore, I'm tired.

Isreal could end the war immediately if it traded cease fire and Palestinian sovereignty in exchange for the leaders of Hamas. Israel, however, will never agree to this. Israel needs Hamas; Israel needs Hamas to justify ethnic cleansing in Palestine in order to replace the native population with Israeli settlers. Israel funded Hamas to take the wind out of the PLO. Israel continues to enforce scorched earth policies in order to engender the terrorism that justifies their continued attempts to wipe the Palestinian people off the face of the earth. Solidarity with Palestine! From the river to the sea! free Palestine!

As reciprocal smiting flares in the Middle East yet again... [Ian Sanders]
* * * *
“Into this wild Abyss/ The womb of Nature, and perhaps her grave--/ Of neither sea, nor shore, nor air, nor fire,/ But all these in their pregnant causes mixed/ Confusedly, and which thus must ever fight,/ Unless the Almighty Maker them ordain/ His dark materials to create more worlds,--/ Into this wild Abyss the wary Fiend/ Stood on the brink of Hell and looked a while,/ Pondering his voyage; for no narrow frith/ He had to cross.”
― John Milton, Paradise Lost

I've been seeing a lot of donation requests in my inbox lately, supposedly sent by those with families trapped in Gaza.
Can anybody vouch for the legitimacy of these? If this was any other website I'd be more likely to believe that these requests were in fact legitimate, but, and I cannot stress this enough, we're on Tumblr.
Are actual families using this site to network, or are these just scam accounts run by people posing as real victims of the war and stealing images of said victims?

How absolutely kind of Israel to let Palestinians know when their homes are gonna be bombed. Maybe if Israel wasn’t a terrorist state hamas wouldn’t exist. If during the process of “eliminating” Hamas you are bombing and orphaning children you’re creating so many more Hamas members
the victims of october seventh weren’t as lucky. if there’s any terrorist state it’s the ‘state’ of palestine, considering they actually commit acts of terror. walking into cafes with bomb vests, constantly raining rockets onto civilian targets, the like.
israel is the most successful landback movement in history. if you look up the international criteria for ‘indigenous people’, the jewish people fit, and the palestinians don’t. the arabs colonized the area a long time ago and no matter how hard the various colonizers tried, they were unable to remove a jewish presence from the region. israel is a small space. it’s about the size of new jersey. what confuses me is why the ‘palestinians’, a cultural identity that did not emerge until after the ‘67 war, can’t be absorbed into the other arab nations in the region - oh, wait, they antagonized them all by overthrowing two governments (jordanian and lebanese).
the palestinians are the most privileged refugees in the world. they’re also the most entitled. they are the only group to have received generational refugee status. they receive the most aid in the world per capita, much of which is from israel, the people they terrorize. however, i saw a palestinian man on twitter film a video and post it to tiktok complaining about the mre he’d gotten - keep in mind, that’s the food that american service members eat? it’s a higher quality food package than typical disaster relief food?? the fuck??
now they insist the indigenous people move aside? automatically forgive the past century, past milennia, of terror and oppression, just so some overprivileged people who refuse to assimilate anywhere and demand land that doesn’t belong to them can get away with mass rape, terror, and hypocrisy?
let me ask you this - what exactly do you think the gazans would do with an airport?
don’t get me wrong, i’m not jewish. no need to throw slurs or accusations at me. i’m american, not israeli. i came into this conflict with little to no knowledge of the region and, after extensive research, came out a zionist. i leaned left before this. however these days, on this issue specifically, ben shapiro makes more sense than hasan. do you know how much that pisses me off? i hate the right! fuck republicanism in general! why do i have to agree with them? once the left starts making sense again i’ll come back, but it’s been made abundantly clear that leftists want the destruction of the jewish people like every fascist group before them.
regarding making new hamas members - i get where you’re coming from. however you underestimate the effect that a peaceful protest movement could have on the people of israel. these are not awful people, and believing such is antisemitic - and their government listens to them. why do you think they’re bombing gaza instead of extensive ground operations? they don’t want to lose soldiers and deal with their families voting against them. the jewish people can absolutely be convinced into palestinian statehood, you just need to convince them, instead of killing them. what’s the incentive for them to create another enemy state in the region?
do your own research and stop listening to the people around you. look into the jewish religion and their connection to the land. i know it’s easy to get sucked into what others think of an issue, but it’s your responsibility to form opinions for yourself. benny morris has some good books. a concise history of a nation reborn by daniel gordis is also a good one. rise above the hate around you and see the situation for what it is, and don’t shrink your historical knowledge to the past century - learn about the land if you insist on wasting the oxygen necessary for life, why don’t you.

One may ask why Hamas won't use their power and money to actually help Palestinian women and children with no food or anything instead of buying rockets and other military equipment. It's almost like they don't really care about Palestinian people and just want to kill Israeli people. But shh, we aren't supposed to ask questions, we just need to post #freepalestine and go about our days.

I didn’t want to say anything because the suffering is not about me. But I have seen so many people I thought were good people on this website wholeheartedly defend the death of over 1000 Jews because they ostensibly support Palestine. I have seen people say things they don’t even realise are calls to violence, support things they aren’t even close to understanding.
If you are just hearing about this ongoing geopolitical situation in the month following the 7/10 attack, it is okay to not say anything until you know more. It is okay to simply say that you fear for civilians caught in this conflict. What is not okay is people acting like they’re experts.
Because before you know it, so many of you have fallen straight into antisemitic rhetoric and started spreading antisemitism because you don’t want to be “on the wrong side” of an ongoing struggle you weren’t aware of until a month ago.

I made this blog because I'm tired of living my day to day ordinary first-world-European-country life and whilst meanwhile, elsewhere on the globe literal genocides are happening.
I am a normalish young human living in the UK and personally, I find it pretty fucked up that as I'm eating a pastry I bought from Gregg's and thinking about summer work experience placements, fellow humans are living and dying in horrific conditions just because they were unlucky enough to be born who and where and when they were. What I find considerably more fucked up is how little I feel I can do about this.
I think we're all familiar with that sense of total helplessness we feel when we hear about some dictator starting yet another war on the news, or watch yet another documentary on people currently dying in camps in countries with tightly controlled borders and speech and little transparency in their statistics or governance. Of course, that sense of despair is one of the most powerful weapons of people in power and we can change the course of events through organizing and rallying together in protests and resistance movements etc, but what do you do if you can't strike or protest? If you can't join in a boycott or skip school?
This is a blog created for those people. Realistically, unless I miraculously rack up a bajillion followers overnight like a hellsite Kardashian, my voice and opinions and the influence I have is absolutely tiny in the grand scheme of things. But nevertheless, every voice matters. No matter how small or irrelevant, one of the ways EVERYONE can have some miniscule ripple effect in the vastness of modern day politics and what will be tomorrow's history is by speaking up.
Heck, even if you can't post stuff voicing your opinions out of fear of your family or social circle seeing or the risk of losing your job (and you can't create another account or blog for this) you can still view, like, reblog and share stuff to spread awareness and influence an algorithm- likes, reblogs, followers and any actions possible for traction for this blog are greatly appreciated, by the way.
Think about it- how much of your knowledge of the world, awareness of sociopolitical events, opinions, beliefs and et cetera did you learn from social media?
That is the power of using your voice, no matter how small.
This blog will for now be mostly focused on the war crimes in Gaza and Palestinian occupation, but was of course made with some other current atrocities in mind (*cough cough Russian invasion of Ukraine cough cough Uyghur genocide in Xinjiang in China*) which I'll probably be touching on more as time goes on and whenever the situation in Gaza is over (hopefully, with a total ceasfire soon).

also wanna point out that clearly its acting victim whenever i hear a sound even slightly similar to a siren i freeze in my place, my face turns to the one of horror, i leave everything in my area that i was using at the moment before and run straight to the mamad(aka the bunker like thing where we go to whenever we hear a siren), and the whole time my body will be shaking.
also this is sarcasm, it's not playing victim. it's an unfortunate thing that happens in my everyday life, and im not saying that gaza citizens aren't going through this too but y'all need to understand that I'm, and many other Israeli citizens, are suffering too.
