We can now read the dance card to confirm that this appears to be Lady Danbury’s Four Seasons ball.💕

The wallflowers of the deep 🌸
The mushroom soft coral, Heteropolypus ritteri, is one of the most common animals we see in the depths off the central coast of California. They are abundant on the jagged walls of Monterey Canyon and the rocky slopes of local seamounts. Fast currents running along the bottom can carry an abundance of plankton and other tiny bits of food. Heteropolypus extends delicate tentacles into the currents to snag a feast. When their tentacles are extended, they resemble a beautiful flower. When the tentacles are pulled in, they look more like their namesake—mushrooms.
Tumblr media
The abundance of mushroom soft corals and their diverse relationships with other bottom-dwelling animals tell us they are an important part of the seafloor community. But the intimate interactions among deep-sea animals only become apparent when we conduct regular surveys. We cannot protect what we do not understand. Our research is helping improve our baseline understanding of the largest environment on Earth, even if our encounters sometimes yield more questions than answers.
Tumblr media
We still have a lot to learn about Heteropolypus, including how a changing seafloor environment will impact them and their neighbors. But we do know that a healthy ocean is one of the best ways to fight climate change. We must act quickly to safeguard Heteropolypus and other denizens of the deep. Understanding how our actions affect the ocean is an important first step. Share what you have learned, and help us grow our community of ocean champions. Together, we can protect the remarkable residents of the ocean’s depths. Learn more about these remarkable residents of the deep.

Welcome to another space for the wallflowers.
Now then, let me introduce myself: my middle name would be Oliver if changing my name weren't so complicated, so for you all, I'll be Oliver.
I'll soon turn 26 years old, I'm unemployed, and I still live with my parents. I attend therapy and psychiatry sessions, and I've decided to share this because I'd like to meet more people in my situation and have hope that it's possible to build a professional career even with mental disorders.
This will be my place of expiation, somewhat different from my main blog.
Feel free to comment, leave hearts, and share.
Have I decided to create this secondary blog inspired by Alice Oseman's "Radio Silence"? Absolutely.

another fall haul 🍁
Here are my thoughts/first impressions:
Autumn Drive: this one has been a favorite of mine this year. the raspberry is so sweet and it dries down into a nice outdoorsy fall scent 🍂
Sunrise Woods: such a creamy cozy scent, really just feels like your comfiest fall sweater🧣
Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin: another backup of this, i tend to go through it all year. it's true to its name and a very recognizable fall scent from B&BW 🎃
Candy Apple Cauldron: glad to have this to match in the cream, it's a perfect spooky green apple! 🍏
Getaway Soirée: i was unsure if i'd like this one but i'm glad i got it, i think it'll be really good in summer! ☀️
Vacation Vibe: this one is so good and desserty but in a subtle way. me and my mom both love it so i grabbed a full size spray for her! ⛵️
Covered in Roses: this is nice! it's a very fresh rose, smells just like fresh cut roses in the flower shop with some other notes bringing it together into a sophisticated scent that would be great for valentines/spring! 🌹
i'm glad to have gotten my hands on the Upside Down and Hometown Festival wallflowers, i hope to get the latter going soon for September and the former i'll probably save for October 😃
