He knew that he'd used her more than he ever elevated her, yet in his worst moments of cruelty to her, she'd never loved him more.
"I do not understand love," Voldemort admitted quietly as he slipped out of her mind.
"Gods do not need to understand love," Bellatrix whispered as she kissed his hands reverently, body shaking from his mental abuse. "They only need to accept the love freely given."

Day 11 - Hypocrite
Bellatrix sat on her bed, wondering if what she had just learned about the origins of her master made her a hypocrite.
He was a Half-Blood, he had told her so himself.
His mother was a Gaunt, the last witch of their line, but his father… his father had been a Muggle.
Their cause was that of blood purity, and yet he, the greatest wizard alive, had been tainted by the very thing they wanted to destroy. And still, she would follow him to the end of the world, for he was certainly above the soiling of the blood of Gaunt by a Muggle.
Her Dark Mark burned in her arm, sharp and scorching. She stood up, grabbing her wand from where it lay forgotten on the covers, and her cloak from the hook by the door. She walked outside Castle Lestrange to the Apparition point beyond the wards, and turned right.
She followed her Master’s summon through space, and landed not far from him.
These were not the gardens of Malfoy Manor.
They were somewhere in Muggle London, hidden from it by the Dark Lord’s magic. They stood before old iron gates, which were slowly being eaten away by rust, devoured by time.
‘Wool’s Orphanage’ read the letters worked into the metal.
“Follow me,” he said, as he walked towards the gate.
It opened for him, not a spell spoken nor a flick of wand to it. Wandless, silent magic.
Bellatrix followed him, in awe.

What's you take on the whole wand situation?
It never ceases to amaze me how well Draco's wand worked for Harry when he had trouble with Hermione's wand and they've known each other for years.
Not only did the wand work, he also defeated Voldemort with each I find so funny for some reason.
And we need to remember that his wand was made of unicorn hair, which makes it extremely loyal to its owner so how the heck did it work well enough to defeat one of the greatest wizards of all time?
J.K.R can claim that Harry disarmed Draco all she wants, I call bullshit. To me it feels they share a deep connection which is why it worked
I KNOW!! It is insane that JKR, Queen of the Anti-Drarry Squad, wrote this in canon. So fitting that she should be cursed to accidentally canonize queer ships she hates lol.
The bit about Hermione's wand is super interesting for several reasons. Harry never wins the wand from her, but because they are very close and compatible and because she loves Harry and wants the wand to work for him, it does. Not perfectly. But way better than the Blackthorn Wand, which he didn't win AND which came from a stranger who had no compatibility with him and felt no allegiance or emotional connection to him. So we see that the compatibility of the wand's owner with someone and, crucially, the emotional bond they have with you, also influences how their wand responds to you.
This has huge implications when it comes to Draco's wand. Draco's wand is made of unicorn hair, which, as you correctly point out is known for its loyalty and affinity for its original master. This is not a fickle wandcore that is easy to just win in a quick duel. Not only that, but hawthorn wands are particularly tricky to master.
Plus, if wands could switch allegiance too easily then it would've come up earlier. If just disarming someone is usually enough to do it then any class where such things are practiced would have huge repercussions. Not to mentions fights between enemies. It would be a huge problem for Death Eaters or Aurors. Snape would've lost mastery pf his wand to the Marauders pretty early on in his school career. (Harry also would've lost mastery of HIS wand to Snape in the end of book 6.) This would make wizards extremely cautious about dueling each other. Thus, the character and desires of the wizards and of the wands and the specific circumstances must play a much bigger role. Some wands must be more loyal than others too. For example I can imagine the Elder Wand being relatively fickle. Or the kind of wand that would choose Peter for example. But a unicorn hair wand?
Furthermore, Harry doesn't even really fight Draco. He pulls the wand right out of Draco's hand. And Draco...lets him. He has fast reflexes. He's a Seeker who is nearly equal to Harry in ability. And we see how quick he is at spells and how well he holds his own against Harry during their duel in book 6. Yes Harry - who is a deadly dueler - beats him in the end, but they go several rounds. Draco, in fact, holds his own against Harry for longer than anyone except for Snape. Much longer than Voldemort ever does for example. So if Draco had wanted to get off a spell to blast Harry away from him when Harry was totally unarmed and literally just trying to pull the wand out of his hand - he could have. But he doesn't. He lets Harry take the wand.
And the wand's loyalty transfers seamlessly to Harry. Not only does it work for him. It works PERFECTLY. It feels "friendly" in his hand. In a way even Hermione's didn't. He is deeply compatible with the wand and the wand obviously is actively friendly to him. This clearly reflects Harry's fundamental core compatibility with Draco (they're soulmates your honor!) and also Draco's true loyalty and affection towards Harry.
The Hawthorn Wand isn't betraying its former master. It's honoring his wishes by protecting the man he loves.

Let's Reflect On: Peter Pettigrew's erasure from The Marauders by a big portion of the Harry Potter fandom.
Peter Pettigrew was an 11-year-old boy who happened to be in the same compartment of the Hogwarts Express as James Potter, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin. They all befriended each other through that interaction - through being sorted in the same house, being dormmates, having things in common, being comfortable around each other.
Peter Pettigrew was a twenty-something-year-old man who was threatened to sell his friends to Voldemort. He was a coward, not a follower.
Even Voldemort himself says it:
“[…] Wormtail here has paid some of his debt already, have you not, Wormtail?" He looked down at Wormtail, who continued to sob.  “You returned to me, not out of loyalty, but out of fear of your old friends. You deserve this pain, Wormtail. You know that, don’t you?”“
Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, Chapter 33: The Death Eaters
In the end, at the moment of his death, when ordered to strangle Harry he hesitated. Now, we have seen him murder without batting an eyelash, why would he not do the same with Harry?
Here's my take on it:
I believe Wormtail saw Harry as more than a chore, a body to dispose of. He saw him as James' son. His best friend whom he helped killing son. All the guilt and grief he had been trying to justify and push away since that fateful night dawned on him.
Peter had been there for his beginning; for James and Lily’s beginning. He was there at their wedding, at the baby shower (if there was one), for every Christmas since first year... He felt, not sure love, but definitely guilt. He looked at Harry and saw the face of James and the never-quivering eyes that once belonged to Lily. It was much easier living without carrying the responsibility of having cast the spell that ended their lives.
He hesitated, which caused the silver hand Voldemort had given to him to sense that as a sign of weakness and/or disloyalty, leading him to be strangled to death. With such a choice, he saves Harry’s life and, to me, finds redemption for his treason.
I’m not saying you should love Peter or that he was a wonderful human being who should now be showered with flowers and kisses by any means, but he has a story and he has a past. He has a built-up of growing insecurities until he betrays his friends. All of this is essential to understand that the twenty-something-year-old Peter Pettigrew is not the same as Hogwarts student Peter Pettigrew. There’s background and nuance to each character - If we ignore it and pretend he was an idiot through and through it just turns him into an empty character with no real importance in the plot, which is not the case. Don't reduce the complex relationship of the marauders to that.
To expand on the topic, the extraordinary @theprogressofspring has quite an extensive section on their blog labeled In Defense of Peter Pettigrew, with essays that go much more into detail and actually gave me the courage to post this entire thing. In addition, they also began a while ago writing The Life Cycle of the Common Rat; a story from Peter's point of view, tackling the first Wizarding War and refreshing characterizations of young adult marauders and Lily; it was a really tricky time, and sometimes the people we love are cunts and the people we hate are not pure evil.

i really love the idea of regulus black faking his death.
regulus who was too smart to think voldemort made only one horcrux. who knew the only way to find and destroy all of them was to disappear.
so he makes everbody, including james and his brother, believe that he's dead.
he goes to that cave, steals the lock and gives it to pandora. her and dorcas work on destroyjng it, while barty and evan keep playing deatheaters as a way to keep voldemort busy. regulus focuses on finding rest of horcruxes.
when the girls succeed and find the right way to destroy the locket, he has already located all of them. obviously harry still doesn't exist, so it's not so tricky anymore.
they destroy all of them, and then regulus comes back to fight voldy.
exept once again, he's not stupid. he has two kings man by his side, and shitlot of potion making skills.
voldy dies from a poison, even tho it looks like regulus killed him in a fair fight.
reg becomes a hero, all of his friends live, he makes up with his brother and lily has enough time to figure out that she's a lesbian.
jegulus reconnect, marylily happens, everybody's alive, harry has four parents.
everybody is happy, second wizard war never happened.

The Wake-up Kiss by Justlikewriting
This time, when Harry found himself without a date for the Ministry Yule Ball, Parvati Patil was unable to step in. So, he was left with the only other viable option: to ask Draco Malfoy. Which would be fine, of course: it had been twelve years since the war after all. And they saw each other regularly now, meeting up with the same group of friends almost every Friday night. Harry, however, obviously hadn’t taken into account just how insufferable Zacharias Smith could be. Rec Post

Foreshadowing (1)
Foreshadowing is a literary technique in which an author hints at or suggests what will happen later in a story. It is a way for the author to build anticipation and create tension, as well as to add depth and complexity to the plot and characters.
Foreshadowing can take many forms, such as a character's actions or words, an object or setting that has symbolic significance, or even a seemingly random event that later turns out to be important.
For example, in the opening scene of William Shakespeare's play "Macbeth," the witches' prophecies foreshadow the tragic events that will unfold later in the story. Similarly, in J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series, various clues and hints are dropped throughout the books that foreshadow the ultimate defeat of the villainous Lord Voldemort.
There are several types of foreshadowing that authors can use to hint at future events in their stories:
Character Foreshadowing: This is when a character's actions, thoughts, or words hint at something that will happen later in the story. For example, a character who is always talking about their fear of water might foreshadow a future scene where they have to swim across a river.
Symbolic Foreshadowing: This is when an object or setting that has symbolic significance hints at something that will happen later in the story. For example, a broken mirror might foreshadow bad luck or a fractured relationship.
Dialogue Foreshadowing: This is when dialogue between characters hints at something that will happen later in the story. For example, if a character says "I have a bad feeling about this," it might foreshadow a dangerous situation.
Plot Foreshadowing: This is when the plot itself hints at future events. For example, the start of a mystery novel might foreshadow the revelation of a killer.
Title Foreshadowing: This is when the title of the story itself hints at future events. For example, the title "The Death of Ivan Ilyich" foreshadows the death of the protagonist.
Foreshadowing can be a tricky technique to get right. Give away too little, and you may confuse readers or lose their interest. Give away too much, and you take away your story’s suspense. Here are some tips for using foreshadowing effectively in your writing:
Plan ahead: Foreshadowing works best when it is planned in advance. Before you start writing, think about the key events in your story and how you can hint at them earlier in the narrative.
Be subtle: Foreshadowing should be subtle enough that readers don't immediately guess what will happen. Use small hints and clues that can be interpreted in multiple ways.
Use multiple types of foreshadowing: Don't rely on just one type of foreshadowing. Use a combination of foreshadowings to create a rich and complex narrative.
Don't overdo it: Too much foreshadowing can be distracting and annoying for readers. Use foreshadowing sparingly and only when it serves a purpose in the story.
Keep it relevant: Foreshadowing should always be relevant to the story. Don't include hints that never pay off or that are unrelated to the plot.
Use foreshadowing to create tension: Foreshadowing can be used to create tension and suspense in your narrative. By hinting at future events, you can keep readers engaged and eager to find out what happens next.
Pay off the foreshadowing: Foreshadowing is only effective if it pays off in the story. Make sure that the events you hint at actually happen later in the narrative, and that they have a significant impact on the plot or characters.
Foreshadowing is a common and effectively way to make your stories more exciting. By using foreshadowing, authors can create a sense of inevitability and give readers a sense of satisfaction when events come to fruition as predicted. It can also make the story feel more cohesive and well-planned, as if everything was leading up to the climactic moment.

Harry Potter AU where Harry chooses to travel back in time to redo his Hogwarts years but Death shows up too as either another student or professor. Either he's doing it to entertain himself, to keep an eye on his master, or both. Harry is angry at first that Death didn't tell him he would be coming along and they have the sort of antagonistic but secrets-shared only between them dynamic you see in some tomarry fics. Death also hates Voldemort and wants to be rid of him too, but can't resist acting like a little shit when around Harry. No other human amuses him so much. Eventually, Death realizes his feelings go beyond amusement or simple loyalty and he falls in love with Harry. Some teachers draw the conclusion that Death is similar to Tom which Death hates and Harry teases him for. Death also hates Dumbledore's manipulations of Harry and is constantly inserting himself into conversations between the two even when others try to get Harry alone. Death is also much more empathetic concerning Harry's parents and usually has a devil may care attitude. Harry is constantly surprising him with how much he cares about the people around him, even Dumbledore who raised him for slaughter, but his compassion makes Harry who he is. That care is constantly getting his master into tricky situations that can't always be solved by being unkillable (i.e. Death is not used to talking his way out of situations so much).

Hello, I was hoping you could provide some of your brilliant insight to this ask: How many people knew about the horcruxes in the end? Dumbledore told Harry not to tell anyone, but Harry kind of announced it during his battle with Voldemort, and everyone knew he sacrificed himself. Hagrid witnessed it, and so did the DE. I’m sure this started rumours about how the Potter boy cannot be killed by the AK curse. Hagrid must have wanted answers too, because watching Harry sacrifice himself and then come back alive after he watched the AK curse kill him would have been detrimental. So besides Ron and Hermione, who else knew about the Horcruxes and the reason Harry sacrificed himself? Did the Order know? Did he tell the DA? Did he tell Ginny?
Damn, I wish I had brilliant insight - alas, all I have is a pathological inability to stop running my mouth and a crippling hyperfixation. To that end... loved this question, so thoughts about whether or not Harry ran his mouth about the Horcruxes after the war (and to whom) below the cut!
Tumblr media
This is such an interesting question and one I think about alllll the time and am desperate to have a stab at writing about at some point (like everyone, lol). On Horcruxes - I think Harry (and the trio, to a lesser extent) would feel less beholden to Dumbledore's instruction not to tell anyone after Voldemort has gone. I think it would be more a case of the trio trying to decide how much is safe for the public at large to know, in case they embolden lesser, weaker copycats. (There's that great conversation between Harry and Hermione in chapter one of Castles by @pebblysand about the Harry/Voldemort showdown honestly makes me laugh every time - Hermione basically being like, why did you have to publicly confirm the existence of an Elder Wand? Just how dumb are you? Harry like sorry it was obviously improv???)
I imagine Harry will tell the public a small amount (a much simpler story that does broad outline, light on detail, the focus of which is exonerating Snape and rehabilitating Dumbledore). I think he tells the Order and the DA - so all of those loyal to him who both deserve information and who witnessed the Harry/Voldemort conversation - a much fuller but still incomplete story in a private address at the Burrow where the trio share it between them and their comrades can ask questions. I think this version would cover Dumbledore's plan, the Horcruxes, details about the Horcrux hunt, the context of the Elder Wand, the Snape story, the Regulus arc, etc. I like to think Ron would choose to tell his family what really happened that last Christmas during this session (though Harry and Hermione would insist he doesn't need to), and talks about how and why he messed up in a way that shows how far he's come (and also lets Bill off the hook for snubbing his mother's Christmas in the middle of a war lmao). I think this conversation wouldn't cover the Hallows and that Harry would decline to talk in to much detail about what happened in the Forest, which I think all three of the trio would agree was both too personal and too dangerous (given the Stone) to share, especially to a room of grief-stricken friends and family who may well be drawn to an object that allows them to reach out to the dead.
I do think, though, that he tells Ginny everything. I don't think he'd ask permission from Ron and Hermione, per se, but he'd give them the heads up that he intends to let one more person in on this secret between them and Dumbledore. I think Ginny gets the whole truth: Horcruxes, Hallows, what happened in the Forest - and I think he tells her over the course of that summer. Canonically, that's his intent and priority at the end of the series: she deserves to know, and he needs her to know. The would he tell her question for me is less tricky to think about than the how. These would be very difficult conversations: I actually think they'd be unbearable for Ginny to hear, in many many different ways: what happened in the Forest, of course, but also just how horrific it would be for her to discover a part of Riddle's soul, the same thing that was in the Diary, was living inside the person she loves the whole time. (I think a lot about that OotP 'lucky you' scene. What's crazy about that scene in retrospect is that Harry comes out of it reassured by Ginny that he isn't being possessed - but of course, the truth is neither of them should be reassured. Harry feels better thinking this is different to what happened to Ginny, but actually their experiences have more in common than they realise (though are still ofc distinct): Harry's got a bit of Voldemort's soul in him, the same thing that controlled and terrorised little Gin. It's a classic example of the series' many ironies: characters coming so close to the truth but getting it (understandably but terribly) wrong. Even the thought of living alongside the locket at Grimmauld in the OotP summer - I think Ginny would find the thought of that, in retrospect, absolutely sickening).
All this is to say: I think the trio deliberately cultivate public silence over certain very volatile aspects of the Horcrux/Hallows story (in ways that probably does incur a certain degree of public speculation and resentment). But I think Gin gets the whole picture. I can't imagine Harry ever wanting to keep it from her (or even managing to - the man let slip their plan at the dinner table in DH. He's not keeping secrets from that girl. Man canonically sees those big brown eyes and starts running his damn mouth)
PS. Obsessed with the idea of rumours that AK can't kill Harry. I'm sure it would be in his professional interest when hunting the last of the Death Eaters to keep that particular myth going lol. Avada Kedavra? Can't kill me, mate. Good luck to ya

Hello, I'm new and desperate. I am remembering certain things but am unsure if it comes from one or multiple different fics from ao3. So here's what I remember
•Hermione time travels. I'm unsure if she is a slytherin or ravenclaw.
•Hermione kills the basilisk with roosters and finds a scroll in the chamber of secrets.
•Tom has many snakes about the castle as his eyes and ears. He transfigured a snake for Hermione but it was a rebel (turned out to be a basilisk) and didn't follow her in the begining. He also tells her the snakes names.
•Tom is notified that some younger slytherins were caught in a dresser/cabinet where he takes Hermione to solve how to get them out. She reads the signature of the creator of the cabinet. Tom takes them out and replaces them with a snake in exchange.
•Tom is either head boy or prefect with one of Hermione's shy slytherin roommates. But idk if this is in the same fic.
•Lastly, there's a fiery red dome/forcefeild near campus and nobody knows why. Tom is summoned (in front of hermione) to help with keeping it at bay.
The main fic I'm trying to find is the one where he made Hermione a snake.
Hi Anon:
We've parsed this out into three different fics.
Jormungandr meets most of the elements in this ask including: many snakes in the castle; rebel snake; younger kids in the cabinet; head boy; red dome; and time travel.
We've been unable to find one where Hermione finds a scroll in Chamber of Secrets or where Tom turns her into snake. However, The Naga Potion series has Hermione turning herself into a snake. Hermione uses a rooster to kill the basilisk in New Blood, which isn't a tomione fic exactly.
If you can remember more about the others, let us know. - Haus

a boy snapped my wand in half; a man devoured my stone; a woman in black tore my cloak; and i left them all, alone. After destroying the Hallows proves to actually be a bad idea, Hermione travels to a time where they were most conveniently stealable. There are a couple dark lords and a cellar door in her way, but she is determined to outsmart them all. Well, at least the wizards, the door might pose a problem. Do you think you can outwit Death, Hermione? Play the long game and win? Death is not clever. They are not tricky. They are eternal, and will outlast your dust. Or, Hermione makes mistakes and deals with them the only way she knows how: larger, more desperate mistakes. Russian translation available.

The hunt for horcruxes stalls after the destruction of Slytherin's locket. Returning to Grimmauld for rest and research seemed like a good idea, but a potion to help Hermione decipher Harry's parseltongue visions goes wrong. When she finds herself captured, the error turns out to be a boon. After all, why would Voldemort kill someone so uniquely intriguing?
New Blood by artemisgirl
Sorted into Slytherin with the whisper of prophecy around her, Hermione refuses to bow down to the blood prejudices that poison the wizarding world. Carving her own path forward, Hermione chooses to make her own destiny, not as a Muggleborn, a halfblood, or as a pureblood… but as a New Blood, and everything the mysterious term means. Do you ship Snape with anyone? What do you think his relationships are like (either platonic or romantic)?
Great question. Time to expose myself as a snily shipper. (It always surprises me how small this ship is). I like the tragedy of their doomed friendship but also... Consider. An AU. Where they stayed friends. And where that friendship developed into something more. Give me snily where they're both flawed and angry and have rough edges but somehow those rough edges fit together and they get to be flawed and angry together. Idk. Conceptually there's just something about it that I really like though I haven't actually read much fic for it. Or much Snape fic in general. He's such a tricky character to write. I think Snape/Sirius & Snape/Lupin also have interesting potential (tending towards the darker side of the fic pool obviously) as well. (You could also do something interesting though quite dark with Snape/Dumbledore).
I also think his relationship with Voldemort is absolutely fascinating. I usually tend to view that one through a platonic lens though. The fact that Snape and Tom have much more in common in terms of their backgrounds, lived experiences and abilities than they do with the other Death Eaters, the fact that Tom seems to genuinely like and favor Snape (enough that he regrets killing him - though not enough that he's willing to spare him), and the fact that Snape conversely hates Tom and is secretly working against him for most of the series is all super interesting to me.

Some Thoughts on HP's Blood Purity
I always thought that the Blood Purity Bigotry© had to be more complex than the "Mudblood hahaha" shown in canon. In real life, for example, we see racists and xenophobes who hate people just for existing, and we think that's all. But we usually forget that these despicable people tend to write whole books trying to justify their malicious and just plain stupid "arguments".
So, where are the supremacist writers in the HP universe?
While I was writing the second chapter of my fic 'Eisoptrophobia' I made this exact question.
The only example of a presumed blood supremacist writer is Cantankerus Nott, who wrote the 'Pureblood Dictionary' and basically invented the 'The Sacred Twenty-Eight' list (which unironically includes the Weasly family), and an example of a race thesis is the idea that muggleborns 'stole' magic from pureblood wizards.
And, as everyone knows, this kind of racism revolves around the concept of 'magical blood'.
Cantankerous Nott excluded families like the Crabbs, the Goyles and the Potters from his list because he believed that they got some 'muggle blood'. And, therefore, no completely 'pure'. But that concept: 'purity' is extremely tricky. What makes a family 'pure'? no muggle ancestors for 5 generations? no muggle ancestors for 12 generations? No muggle ancestors at all? Seems that Cantankerous's definition is the last.
However, clearly this narrow definition wasn't widespread even in his time, since said families (Potters, Browns, Crabbes) were considered pureblood, (maybe no completly 'pure', but 'pure' enough). And we know from complementary canon that, for example, the Malfoys occasionally married half-bloods in order to avoid endogamy, which make things worse.
In fact, these little bits of information only let one thing clear: the concept of blood purity was more a political tool than a clear, unified racial thesis.
Pureblood families presumed their own purity, but keep the definition deliberately vague. An 'I know it when I see it' sort of thing. They probably also have double standards for judging the 'purity' of others, and argue over definitions frequently.
Which leads me to conclude that blood purity regards magical blood as something you can have at different levels 'more pure, lest pure' and not something you have or not. This is important, given that real-life racism tends to operate in absolutes, (you're white or you're black and your essence is fundamentally white or black, mixed race people being regarded as some in between being but most likely with a black 'essence').
This explain why blood purity is considerably more tolerant of halfbloods than real-life racism. The Death Eaters have half-blood members (Severus Snape), Voldemort himself is a halfblood and, in general, no halfblood is openly insulted for their mixed heritage. This draw an image of a complicated and unique kind of racisim, one that affect mainly muggleborns and is not especially directed to the halfbloods (which doesn't exclude them from suffering its consequences).
Half-bloods are probably a necessary evil and better than muggleborns from a purist viewpoint, because they got at least a 50% of magical blood (i'm talking of the pureblood-muggleborn children exclusively) and are, in some sense, useful for pureblood families. They keep the line stable and healthy with only a minimal 'sacrifice'
Therefore, half-bloods would be seen as 'non-ideal' but used by pure blood families anyway.
I would also like to suggest, as I did in the notes for said chapter, that not all half-bloods would be regarded equally and that half-bloods like Harry Potter would probably be treated better than half-bloods like Severus Snape, because the former is more likely to have a complete separation of the muggle world, while the second still has a muggle parent.

the harry potter sims 4 legacy challenge <3
If Hogwarts has ever said something to you or ever caught your interest, then I guess you might be at the right place :)
To my fellow Harry Potter fans <3 here's something I've got for you. Now let's get on with it, shall we?
General Rules:
Aging & Lifespan: Use normal lifespan or long lifespan. Short is not recommended.
Money: No use of money cheats. Earn your wealth through careers, skills, and other in-game means. Start with 1.000 simoloeons and work your way up. If you want to make it more difficult start out with 0 simoloeons.
Magic: Given the base game's limitations, use your imagination to simulate magical achievements (e.g., a Sim mastering the Logic skill could be seen as mastering potions or spells).
Legacy Home: Choose a lot to serve as Hogwarts, where all generations will live. You cannot move lots, but you can expand and renovate as your family grows and wealth accumulates.
Succession: The heir of each generation can be male or female, chosen based on the fulfillment of their generational goals.
Gen 1: The Founder (Godric Gryffindor):
Bravery has your name on it. Like I mean written all-over it. You always wanted to show it off. But will you be able to show it off? Or will something get in the way to take you down?
Aspiration: Bodybuilder (to represent bravery and strength)
Traits: Active, Good, Ambitious
Goals: Start of as a teenager, reach level 10 in Fitness, build a "common room" in your home, achieve the top of the Athlete career, and have at least 3 children.

Traits: Ambitious, Self-Assured, Mean
Goals: Reach the top of the Criminal career, achieve level 10 in Mischief, and have a basement dedicated to your "dark arts" (use creative decoration to represent this), and have 1 child and make their childhood a living hell - if the child dies before they are young adult, then you have to adopt a child if it's too late to make one :)

Stygian
thanks for the ask, anon!
Stygian is getting all of my attention at the moment, and I plan to finish it before I work on anything else. It's a Voldemort wins AU where Harry chooses to join the Death Eaters, and Tom is Up To Something. I'm having a lot of fun letting him be a tricky bastard

For the WIP game, I feel like I need to ask about
when the smoke clears
eternal sunshine
(amazing titles)
Thank you @thegirlwhowrites642 for the title compliments! 🥹 I like them too!
when the smoke clears
This fic. This fic. I have been struggling with for ages! It's my amnesia!Ginny fic, built on an ask annerb got about gone was any trace of you on what she thought it would be like if Ginny were the one with amnesia. I've been REALLY stuck rewriting the beginning over and over, and I still don't feel like I have it down. It might be time to give up on it... 😭
But here's a snippet I do like:
“She should come home,” Molly insisted. Ginny fought the urge to roll her eyes as they continued to talk about her when she was right there. Harry gave Molly a tight, polite smile, but then looked again at Ginny. There was an intensity behind his gaze that made it hard to look away. “Ginny should decide.” “Harry, you can’t be serious—she’s confused and unwell,” Molly said flushing. “How can she decide when she doesn’t remember anything?” Something on Ginny’s face must have encouraged him because he continued. “What do you want to do?” Harry asked her, still looking straight at Ginny. Arthur placed his hand on Molly’s shoulders again, which seemed to quiet the argument that no doubt was rising. “What are my options?” “You can go with your parents,” he said with a small smile. “Go back to the Burrow.” “You can stay in your old bedroom,” Molly said, the words rushing out as if they simply couldn’t hold themselves back. “I can cook all your favorites and look through photo albums. It might spark something.” “Or?” Ginny asked, her eyes flickering back to Harry, for somehow the others in the room seemed to naturally look to him as the leader despite his age. “Or,” Harry drew out the word slowly. “Or you can go back with me. To our flat.”
eternal sunshine
Haha somehow you also selected the SECOND amnesia!Ginny story! But very different. In this story, Ginny was taken during DH (uhhh wow I really do have quite a few variations on the same trope), but she’s been gone for several years and everyone suspects the worst. Harry is hardened (this is a Harry who felt his future was stolen from him) and far more vengeful. This isn’t a Harry who gives Voldemort a chance to repent.
During the anniversary of Ginny’s disappearance, there’s a huge raid at a Death Eater hideout. He is out for blood— he gets caught up fighting and chasing one particularly tricky death eater, and all Harry can’t think beyond his wall of rage and then hexes them, catching the death eater mask, which cracks apart. And there, to his shock, is Ginny.
Annnnnd then I still have to figure out the rest! Bahahaha! 😘
Shoot — I have to leave on a second road trip with in laws (thought I’d get a break but Mr. Naru is desperate for a buffer). Thank you all for the asks and your encouragement (it means a lot when I’m in such a writing drought)! I promise I’ll get to the rest of your asks in time!

GGSB Fest 2024 - Never Wanted This For You, Too
@goodgodfathersiriusblack
Prompt - runaway
When Sirius catches the glimpse of Harry before third year, he sees the fact that Harry's running away and decides to do something a little different.
AO3
***
When Sirius made his way to his last known location of Lily’s sister, he hadn’t expected to see a woman being blown up and floating away.
Worse yet, seeing Harry storm off with his trunk looking so upset from the same house that the woman had come from told him exactly what happened and what he’s doing… he’s running away.
Running away from home.
Oh, Merlin.  Sirius never wanted that for his kid.  He wanted him to have a home, but now… it’s clear he doesn’t.
Sirius had initially intended for just a glimpse of Harry before going after the rat, but no … Harry needs a home and Sirius is going to give him one.
He follows after him and approaches him slowly when he huffs and throws himself on the curb.  He looks distraught and worried.
Sirius approaches slowly as Padfoot, and Harry startles, surprised, until he realizes Sirius means him no harm.  It doesn’t take more than a few minutes before Harry’s talking to Padfoot about being a runaway and worrying that he’s doomed because he used magic and some house-elf had gotten him in trouble for magic the previous year.
It honestly worries Sirius, but they can’t stay out in the open, so he transforms – scaring Harry a little bit, but not enough to make him run.
“Harry, this will be hard to believe, but my name is Sirius Potter – well, everyone thinks my last name is Black … that bit is complicated.  I knew your parents, I was their best man at the wedding and your godfather, but when what happened with Voldemort happened, I – I was an idiot, I went after the secondary person responsible… the one who betrayed them to Voldemort and … he set me up.  Like me – he can became an animal… a rat.  I saw him in this picture in the paper, and I wanted to make sure that he could never hurt you, again.  That’s why I broke out of the wizard prison … and came to check on you, my godson… obviously, the Dursleys – bloody Petunia – hasn’t been treating you right or you wouldn’t be a runaway… and I am willing to abandon my plan to stop the rat – just take you somewhere safe … a home that you deserve far, far away… if you want do that instead?”
It was a lot to drop on a thirteen-year-old, but something must trigger in him because he says, “Yes.  Let’s do it, take me away.”
Sirius grins.  “Good.”
***
It was tricky with everyone looking for him, but they got out of the UK and to Sweden, where he could petition for a new trial and be acquitted.  He was given asylum since the Ministry had wanted to take him back anyway, and he gave Harry the home (and the schooling since the Sweden school allowed for travel between school and home on a daily basis) that he deserved.
Months later, Harry comes home, excited about the end of his first term at his new school.  “Padfoot!”
“Hey kiddo,” Sirius says, cheering at his presence.  “How were your last exams?”
“Great,” Harry says, happily.  “Although I was wondering something…”
“Go on, you can ask me anything.”
Harry looks a bit nervous, but he plows on anyway.  “Why did you change your mind about your plan just because you saw me runaway?”
Sirius hums.  “Because I know what it’s like to have to run away, and I never wanted that for you.  You deserved a home … a loving home … that you’d never want to run away from.”
Harry smiles.  “Well, then, mission accomplished.”
“Good.”
