"You came to talk to me about your sister and niece before you take them home?" the older gentleman asked, clearing his throat and turning completely to the women who had entered his office. "Yes,"
"I have treated more than hundred kidnapping victims, but none like your sister. Despite her captivity, she is open to other people and hardly scared which fascinates me. She is very strong," The doctor folded the remaining files on his desk and clasped his hands on the table in front of his torso, fingers locked tightly together. "You know, every victim presents a new challenge and it is like reading a map of battered bodies that have been unjustly violated"
Both Alex and Kara interestingly pulled a chair from the corner and listened to the doctor go into more details about your health, the various tests and examinations that they did on you.
"She is chronically underweight, physically atrophied. She has anemia, vitamin D and iron deficiencies, and some skin lesions and inflammation from the lack of natural light." he unbuttons the cuffs of his shirt sleeves and rolled them up. "Y/n Danvers shows signs of severe violence over the last few years. Broken bones that healed incorrectly and scars all over her body"
The grey-haired hesitates with another answer and bows his head down, wanting to give Kara and Alex a moment to digest the information. The office is suddenly quieter than it was at the beginning of the conversation. "What about Gracie?"
The man in front of them started to smile and looked at the two older Danvers with glittering eyes. "Despite the circumstances, your sister did a good job. Grace Danvers is a bright little girl with particularly good language skills despite her young age"
"Any signs of injury? Does she have bruises or healed broken bones?
He shook his head violently and took away all their fears with immediate effect. "No, she is a perfectly healthy girl. No vitamin deficiencies or signs of violence. No evidence of past fractures or other medical conditions. If I did not know better, I would say that her mother endured all of the abuse to protect her daughter"
The Danvers sisters nodded in unison and thanked your doctor for treating you so lavishly. Kara put one foot in front of the other as she left the office and waited for Alex to join in step. Together they walked back to your hospital room while going over the details of the injuries you had sustained in their minds.

A week had passed in which you slowly regained your strength in the hospital, slowly got used to your sisters around you and were able to get closer with them. While you were still adjusting to your new, free life, your little daughter explored everything she could get her hands on; running around the hospital with either Kara or Alex always by her side, having her aunts wrapped around her little finger since day one.
You stood nervously with your back to one of your older siblings, staring longingly out the window while your bony hand rested on the pane of glass. A sinister life stretched out behind it; a life you no longer knew. "I do not know if I am ready yet.." you replied to Kara, who sat on your bed and waited for you to take the first step outside. The first step to freedom and into a new life.
"There will never be a perfect moment, sweetheart. Nobody wants to imagine what you went through, but Alex and I will be by your side and support you. No matter how long it takes"
You nodded, saw her soft smile in the reflection and turned to her. The blonde extended her hand. You walked the last few inches that separated you, grabbed her hand so she could pull you into her arms. "Grace is already at the car with Alex and Maggie, trying out the new Nemo seat we bought for her"
You laughed briefly at the thought of how long and in how many stores the redhead must had been, desperate to find a car seat with your daughters favorite fish on it. She had wished for this one and, at the tender age of four, had already threatened not to sit in anything else but this one.
"We can go as soon as you are ready," softly, she kissed your dry and straggly hair, wrapped her arms tightly around you and savored the closeness she had missed so badly. You too snuggled up to her chest like a cat, took a deep breath of her perfume, which she still wore after all these years and let the moment sink in.
Kara´s heartbeat accelerated in your ears and her grip on you became tighter. A slight tremor emanated her body and her swallowing became stronger and heavier.
The sadness that overcame her was like an old friend who had accompanied her on the journey over the past few years. Not intrusive, but always in the foreground; always aiming to get her attention and cause deep pain where your love and closeness once found its place.
It stroked her hair every time she walked into your old room, whispered softly in her ear as in silent moments, she slid down the wall and broke down crying. Never leaving her side and always staying with her. The crushing feeling of never seeing you again, never hearing your footsteps creaking on the floor and never catching the sound of your voice ever again.
Your disappearance painted her world gray, pouring concrete over the once colorful rainbows of your being. You were the biggest concern between all the others. Your sisters were worn down by this eternal struggle - the circle of cause and effect, crime and punishment, guilt and innocence, victim and perpetrator. She had not stopped fighting this fight, but she wished she could.
And now she could finally feel the sun and see the colors again, the warmth she longed for and the soft melody of your voice that returned. "I have missed you so much," she said carefully, rocking you gently in her arms. Kara did not want to let go of you, she had been longingly waiting for this moment for too long.
"After all these years, have you stopped looking for me?"
"Yes, we did," she whispered into your hair, the pain in her voice clearly audible as salty tears strayed onto them. The blonde rested her trembling chin on the top of your head, gently stroking your shoulder while her other hand nervously played with your fingers. It was not until she composed herself that she pulled away from you just inches to look into your eyes. "We all spread out across National City and knocked on every door. We questioned alleged witnesses. But nobody had seen you or knew where you were."
Tears rolled quietly down your face, which Kara caught with the soft pads of her thumbs. Although you had asked the question yourself, your stomach still cramped completely when receiving the given information. Your family had fought through the struggle of your disappearance and given themselves up in the process. They had long since lost hope.
"I am sorry I caused you such pain," you looked at your hands and waved them around as if seeing them for the first time before closing your eyes for a brief moment. Shortly after, you opened them up again and stared at your sister with blank eyes. Kara´s on the other hand were blood red and swam behind thick glasses.
She quickly fell to the ground and knelt in front of you. Her warm hands were placed on your cheeks, her thumbs inevitably caressing them. "You are not to blame for what happened to you and you are not guilty for surviving it. Sure, we suffered pain because we thought we lost you forever, but you know what outweighs that pain?"
You shook your head and cocked it to the side, her hand now clasped between your shoulder and ear. She smiled at you briefly and pulled you to the front so your face was buried in her shoulder. "You are back and our hearts are whole again. You are so strong, a fighter and fought your way through everything that came your way. You do not have to be sorry. It. is. not. your. fault."

C!Dream affected not only by malnutrition, but but by a lack of sunlight.
When he first enters pandoras vault he’s doing, okay. Mentally and physically. Still shaken by his two canon deaths in quick succession, but he’s handling it.
But then he starts sleeping more (and it hurts because it reminds him of c!george). But sleeping is all he has to occupy himself, a way to make the time pass faster. He tries to keep his strength up, to exercise regularly, maintain his stamina, but it seems to get harder everyday. Not just because there’s no point, but physically. Fatigue plagues him every waking moment. He sleeps not because of its restorative effect, but because when hes sleeping, he doesn’t know just how tired he is.
Everything hurts. He can never find a comfortable position on the obsidian floor, but it’s more than that. His very bones ache. Muscle pain is constant, with no exertion to explain it. His legs cramp, his whole body does, despite it never happening to him previously.
When c!Quackity visits, things are worse then they should be. Hits that would have only bruised in the past now break bones. His wounds don’t heal like they used to. Infections set in easily. He can only watch as his body breaks down, is broken down, and one day he forgets what the sun looks like. Did its warm rays on his skin feel the same as the heat radiating of the lava? He can’t remember anymore.
Everything listed is an actual symptom of vitamin d deficiency! Not included is depression and mood swings. Add onto all that solitary confinement & malnutrition. 6 months of no sunlight is a Very Bad Thing.

Lol I haven't posted a journal entry in here since January. Which like to touch up on the situation with my father's wife, still no resolution, but I'm still not happy with her and like whatever I guess. Fuck that. My middle sibling is pan & genderfluid and I'm so happy for them, especially for figuring it out at a much younger age than me which makes me inner child happy too because that's all I want for others, to find themselves. My youngest sibling just got a phone and I adore her as well. They're both like me tbh just at like different stages in my life and I love them so much. Aside from my partner, they're also my reason to keep going because I want a relationship with them that's not just visits, but like they can talk to me whenever about whatever.
But as far as a mental health update: I self diagnosed with autism in like August/September. It started as an advocating for others thing, to finally giving in and realizing that those were some of my own experiences too and I had a little voice in my head about it for a while now, but it wasn't until this year that I really did A LOT of research and self tests and listening to videos and listening to the real life experiences and relating with it a lot to myself.
I still believe I have BPD, but I have cut myself off from people a lot because of the fp/person hyperfixation/social anxiety shit so the most it comes out now is with my partner/at work but I've been working on that and realizing that a lot of it coincides with my autism/ADHD/OCD.
I still think I have bipolar w/ psychosis because even with the meltdowns/shutdowns/burnouts I can still tell that I get manic and I still have to deal coming close to psychosis and my moods still have a sort of cyclical type pattern to them.
I definitely have PTSD/cPTSD. Individual events trauma and then the abuse & masking I've had to endure. Triggers are everywhere, ugh.
I still struggle with my eating disorder. My autism/ADHD really fuck with it though. My interoception is so off.
I most certainly have OCD, but a lot of it overlaps with my autism too.
Oh yeah still have ADHD. Executive dysfunction sucks, time blindness sucks, hyperfixation (at inconvenient times) sucks, etc.
I think it's likely, though not ready to assign the label so to speak, that I could have symptoms of AvPD and DPD. I wouldn't be surprised, there's enough trauma and disabled family history that I could really just be that goofed up. But then some stuff could overlap with the other shit, but honestly all of my disabilities are like knotted together anyway so...
However! On top of discovering that I too have autism, I started paying attention to my gut. Because it started going back to that super stressed out immense pain hurting and realizing that gut issues are a common thing for autistic folx and being like huh. So I started to become more aware of my body and all the pain I was just storing away or something or just ignoring, idk. But I remembered how my anxiety/stress would affect my digestion, but then recently I also noticed how a lot for the symptoms I have...it kind of points to a gluten sensitivity. Possibly even Celiac's. Which really fucking sucks. Because I struggle to eat as it is and now I might have to change my "diet" around to be gluten-free or at least until I can be diagnosed officially at least very little gluten. Yes I know I have to eat my normal amount that I would once they do blood tests. I've also obsessively researched this too. My autism/OCD really coincide when it comes to researching...oh and especially when you sprinkle in some ADHD hyperfixation, oof, off we go, 3 hours later.... Lol. Which I've noticed feeling weak, and I've had a lot of fatigue and joint/muscle pain and headaches, and I've always had skin issues. But I think I may have iron-deficient anemia and I'm probably low on vitamin D since I'm not absorbing nutrients as well. Bruising easily.
I could possibly have POTS, or it could be the anemia. But birth giver has it, so it's possible....
I still think I have endometriosis and my partner pointed out the possibility of PMDD. Birth giver has endo too.
Last but not least, I think it's possible I could have EDS, possible specifically kEDS. While not officially diagnosed, scoliosis has been mentioned by a doctor during a physical and I feel SO much pain in my spine. My knees are fucked up. My shoulders are fucked up, right one has dislocated a few times. My hip pops out of place sometimes. My skin is soft and stretchy, not just loose skin either. My scars do a similar thing that I've seen on others. Sometimes it even feels like my knees give out. I'm double jointed/hyper mobile in my hands, elbows (kinda) and knees. So on and so forth, I'm tired.
But yeah lots of shit. It sucks. I've been overwhelmed/stressed/shutdown/burnt out ever since the quarter started and I haven't been able to attend classes since then with all this pain and gut issues I'm having. Plus the social shit exhausted the ever loving shit out of me.
For the celiac, POTS, and EDS I want to be tested for, which I may consider a formal diagnosis of autism if I'm already doing all that work, idk. It's not as important for me unless it'll help with the other diagnoses.

Thin, a little bony? Hey hipbones stick out if she leans a certain way and you can see her collarbones up to her shoulders. She’s just very small as a result of her habits. I’m not sure whether to label her as ectomorphic or endomorphic? I feel like she would be endomorphic if she ate more In terms of her complexion, she’s a bit pale (Vitamin D deficiency, iron deficiency) and has a fair few scars on various parts of her body. They don’t come from self-harm necessarily, but rather appear as a result of whatever activities she’s engaged in. She impulsively picks at her skin, especially her arms, chest and face. Bruises kind of easily, but not as much as you’d expect
Eyes:
Wide, round. They look a little sunken in, like she hasn’t gotten sleep in while, but she has (maybe too much?). Her eye colour is a darker blue, or at least they look that way. She has fairly large pupils and her eyes might even look dark brown if you aren’t paying attention. Eyebrows are of average thickness and look a little messy. They’re pretty much straight, but have a slight curve towards the tail ends. She’s considered shaving these off though. They’re a little lower on her face? Closer to her eyes and it makes them look dark in the sunlight if she isn’t angling her head upwards
Hair:
She has dark brown hair, but you can see a little red tint in the sunlight. She prefers to keep it short, because she thinks she looks weird if it’s long (e.g., she’ll think it makes her face look wider). Definitely cuts it herself and justifies it by saying something along the lines of ‘I’m going to hate it if a professional does it, so I may as well hate it for free’ lmao. I’d say it’s thick, but gets thinned out a bit as she cuts it. If she kept it long, her head would most likely get sweaty in warm weather. It’s more wavy than curly
Race: No fantasy elements here, only Human
Nationality/Ethnicity: Haven’t decided where she’s from yet. I think she’s just European?
Other physical traits: Has some tattoos. Not very noticeable, but that might change when I decide on what I actually want them to be lol. Has a few ear piercings
Preferred Outfits:
Long sleeves 100%. She doesn’t want people to see the marks on her body and she just doesn’t want to acknowledge that she has a body at all really. Lots of her clothes are pretty shapeless. Dark colours, loose shirts and jackets. She wears jeans mostly. Kind of cycles through the same outfits day-by-day if she changes at all. If she’s going out somewhere, like a party or nightclubbing, then she’ll definitely wear much more colour. Yellows, reds, maybe blues and greens. Likes to wear fun coloured glasses with her outfits. She prefers to colour coordinate and is oddly fashion conscious given how she usually dresses. She fantasizes about all the things she could wear if she weren’t self-conscious; thigh highs, skirts, cropped shirts, more accessories, etc.
Family background: Kind of strained? Not terrible, but she doesn’t feel close to her family at all really. Left home as early as she could and only regrets it a little lol
General History:
I guess she could be described as mentally unwell? She was very heavily controlled and monitored throughout her childhood and adolescence. She’s pretty paranoid as a result but tends to engage in a lot of impulsive and dangerous decisions as a maladaptive coping mechanism to kind of counteract these thoughts. She’ll pick up strangers on the road and drive them wherever, walk up to sketchy looking people late at night and start conversations with them, overspend what little money she has online, take whatever pills she finds interesting and other activities of that general nature. She was raised with a lot of boundaries and so decided when she left that she was going to whatever she fancied really
Talents and Skills:
She’s pretty good with people. She’s spoken to lots of strangers from lots of different backgrounds and has developed a keen intuition. I think she would just be easy to get along with in general since she’s really open-minded and probably looks a little naïve. She’s funny (because she doesn’t really filter what she says, so some of the things that come out of her mouth are a little surprising?) and comes from a turbulent background and this probably puts people at ease around her too (or at least people who aren’t that well off either).
Intelligence: 
She definitely has the capacity to be smart, but just doesn’t think through a lot of her decisions unless she feels like she has to. Very impulsive, has a relatively short attention span and honestly her brain’s physicality (this is not the phrasing I want to use lmao) has likely suffered as a result of substances. So in terms of book smarts I’d give her a strong 6 out of 10, not dumb, but I wouldn’t cheat off of her lol. Street wise? Great person to go to for advice. She’s very familiar with specific types of people and what she should be looking out for when walking around. Definitely knows how to defend herself very well and can see through most people like glass. Not the kind of person you’d be successful at ripping off
MBTI: Maybe an ENTP? I think she’s a little more introverted, so potentially an INTP/INFP, but I’m not good at typing so I’ll leave it up to interpretation
Maturity: Very similar to the intelligence, has the experiences necessary to pin her as a mature person and can definitely make very rationally thought out decisions if she wants to, but just doesn’t. She’s just very reckless and disinterested in her own general wellbeing
Sexual Orientation: Either bisexual or pansexual. I haven’t decided if she has any preferences yet
Philosophy/Values: I really don’t think she values much, but her actions dictate that she very much enjoys her freedom seeing as she didn’t get a lot of it growing up. Would panic in a situation where she doesn’t have any will and would probably try to talk her way out of it or fight.

As all of you know if you don’t know by now I have a connective tissue disorder called Ehlers Danlos syndrome. I myself have referred to it as the “junk drawer disorder” due to the long list of comorbidities or conditions you can have a long with the primary condition. The definition of Comorbidity noun or plural noun: comorbidities Is the simultaneous presence of two chronic diseases or conditions in a patient.
When I discuss my medical issues many times it’s actually these “comorbidities” I am talking about. Although the majority of my medical issues can be explained by my genetic disease called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. The majority of the time when I discuss my medical issues I get the looks of disbelief or some have even asked “do you really have all these problems?” The answer to that is simple, it’s yes!
So I decided I’ll list only the comorbidities that I have confirmed diagnoses (dxd) of. During the next couple of months I will discuss these medical problems in more detail.
These are not in any specific order. The list is a Semi-common Comorbidities (Unofficial) list. It's how the article labels it and I think it’s smart to label it this way. Mainly because there currently isn’t any statistics, how common these comorbidities are among EDS patients. The original list can be found at the website at the bottom of this post.

~Varicose veins* and spider veins, often early onset, easy bruising*
~Migraines* and headaches of ALL kinds and durations, (often driven by hydrocephalus from MCAD)
~ Strokes* (I had a TIA 2012)
~Mitral valve prolapse* (mine is mild)
~Easy bruising* often from no apparent cause or injury
~GERD* (weak hiatal sphincters and MCAD can contribute here – the stomach produces acid in response to histamine from food reactions)
~Gastroparesis* (slow or no stomach emptying) and dysmotility (poor digestive movement) beyond just constipation and IBS, possibly from impinged nerves & vessels
~Sciatica* (VA lists this as SI Joint Dysfunction
~Bilateral hip dysplasia* (sometimes seen at birth, and later) ability to “pop” – aka sublux – hips out and back in easily, which should be avoided!)
~Malabsorption and malnutrition* and nutritional deficiencies despite diet and even supplementation sometimes. (Poor absorption).
~Electrolyte imbalances* (often low potassium)
~Osteopenia* (low bone density) and osteoporosis* (brittle bones), often early onset
~Hiatal hernia* (stomach to esophagus sphincter) and all other forms of hernias just about anywhere (inguinal, duodenal, abdominal, etc.)
~Costochondritis* (pain at front rib attachment point to sternum)
~Chondromalacia* (cartilage loss) of all kinds, especially patellae (loss of cartilage in the knees, but can occur elsewhere, e.g. hips)

~Striae* aka “stretch marks” even in males and young (prepubescent) females (i.e. not always associated with pregnancy!)
~Bruxism* (jaw clenching, tooth grinding)
~TMJ* pain and issues, subluxations and dislocations (Temporo-mandibular joint syndrome, jaw alignment trouble)
~Restless Leg Syndrome* (RLS) and leg cramps (often eased by increased magnesium)
~Plantar Fasciitis*
~Chronically low Vitamin D and B12 levels* (caution urged for those with MTHFR mutations with the latter, may need a different form of Vi
Weak or crowded teeth, many need early or partial dentures
~Receding gums*
~Hair loss early, and even in women, especially those with signs of MCAD or iron imbalances
~Deviated septum (misaligned nasal cartilage)
~Trouble swallowing & choking issues, often neuropathic in origin from CCI, sometimes due to floppy laryngeal tissues

9 Nutrient Deficiencies Making You Crave Junk — What Your Body Really Wants Instead
We seem to always crave food that is high in sugar and fat, yet we never find ourselves craving a huge bowl of broccoli. What gives?
Craving certain foods is a multifaceted experience. There’s a cognitive component and an emotional component – aka “I am having a terrible day so I want to go home and eat my bodyweight in fro-yo.” And there’s even a physiological factor: you literally feel good after you eat certain foods.
It turns out cravings aren’t totally our fault. In fact, research suggests that many cravings are often a cry from our body, letting us know that it is seriously lacking in several key vitamins, nutrients, and minerals. These things help to regulate appetite, mood, hunger levels and cravings.
It’s not that our body desperately needs a piece of chocolate cake, we just misinterpret what our body is crying out for. Cravings, poor mood and stubborn weight issues can indicate psychological roots, specific nutrient needs, and/or vitamin deficiencies.
For every gram of sugar you consume, your body uses between 28-53 molecules of magnesium.
Certain food cravings can be triggered by specific moods. We all crave comfort foods when we are stressed out, lonely or sad. On Wednesday, July 5th, I went to my doctor. “You look tired,” she told me.
“Yeah, I didn’t sleep very well. You know, all the fireworks.”

It was my doctor.
“I’m so sorry that I don’t have time to bring you into the office to tell you in person. But we don’t have time. Are you sitting down?”
I wasn’t. “Yesh.”
“You need to go to the James emergency room right now.”
Anyone who lives in Columbus or has grown up here knows exactly what the James is and what this means. “Auhh.”
“Your bloodwork suggests that you have leukemia.”
I sat down. 
I got a post-it note and numbly wrote down words and numbers I didn’t understand. I called my girlfriend as I quickly shoved clothes into a bag, and then I left.
“No, I promise I’m not here for a stroke.” I chuckle-slurred when I walked up to the emergency room desk, pointing at my still drooping face. “I think I have cancer?”
The nurse blinked at me. “O-oh. Okay, let’s get you checked in...”
I have AML. It’s an aggressive form of leukemia, so we’re being similarly aggressive with treatment. I’ve got my powerline hooked up to a vein in my heart, I’ve done my first bone marrow biopsy (wOW that pull is no joke) and I’ve started chemotherapy. 
I know I have a lot of things going for me. I’m young, I’m healthy, my heart is strong and I don’t have any infections. This could have been so, so much worse. I could have passed out in Japan. My doctor could have not done those labs.
The James Cancer Hospital is really one of the best places in the world. I have a great team that I like a lot. It’s not fun, to be sure, but hopefully it’ll just be a passing memory one day.
