The thingwith fruit. Is that good fruit is so good to eat and makes me go "oh fuck fruit is so good I forgot". But then. Bad or mediocre fruit that isn't the perfect texture or flavour... hell on earth fruit is The WORST. And you can't tell which fruit is which do you understand.

For quite a while as a youth I wanted to be #selfsufficient (until I realised a world of automation was coming and I didn't want to be committed to getting up at 5am in the #morning to let the chickens out). I'd bought #SelfSufficiency by #JohnSeymour (I still have it) and pored over it. How to keep rabbits, when to get a horse, all that. One thing troubled me though. Making #rosehipsyrup to give you vitamin C through the winter. Good. But the syrup might have botulism and that'll kill you. Not so good. Still worried about that.

Made this yummy lemon mandarin cheong, the recipe is from a circulating video I found on instagram https://www.instagram.com/reel/DCRLojspmRS/?igsh=cGRoc2s3aDlsZHpi

Recipe:
Thinly sliced lemons (I used mostly the peels because we used the lemons for lemon drops 😅)
Mandarins
Weigh them on a scale in a bowl
Weigh out the same in sugar
Mix 2/3 of the sugar with the lemon and mandarins
Transfer them to jar and cover with the remaining sugar
Let sit for a couple days and then refrigerate
Good to mix with tea! Excellent vitamin C boost for when you’re sick. I’ve seen other videos with other fruit so definitely something you can change up!

I am once more reaching new depths of desperation. This time, it's downloading couch to 5k and trying to convince myself I can do nine weeks of it in 5, because that's all the time I have before I go home again. Hopefully I'm not as unfit as I think I am and I can skip past a few days, otherwise I'm a little bit screwed. I do a lot of very fast walking because I'm constantly running late so I'm hoping that will have helped my cardiovascular fitness but I'm not sure it has, and my lungs are kind of shit anyway so yeah. I'm trying to take up running, which is so shocking I can't even quite believe I'm trying it myself.
