# 34
The judge narrowed their eyes as they saw a familiar face just barely enter their court room.
Of all the people to walk through those court doors the villain was the one person the judge did not want to see.
Clearing their throat the judge spoke with disdain clear in their voice." I'm sure that Whatever it is you did this time, you're most certainly guilty of it ." The judge had said with a long sigh.
The villain hadn't even made it fully past the doors before stopping in their place with a funny little look in their eyes.
"Sorry to disappoint you today but I'm afraid I'm not here for you." The villain had said with forged sadness. " You see, I'm simply here for jury duty." The villain had said with a simple shrug.
"But, if you really want to see me in the hot seat that badly I guess I could cause a little trouble later on in the day. " the villain had said once more with a rather smug smile.

Prompt: 220
"You've been stabbed, you're going to medical!"
"It's fine. I've been stabbed loads of times. I know what a serious stab wound feels like, this is more of a scratch."
"..."
"Ah."
"You've been stabbed 'loads of times.' "
"That sounded more reassuring in my head."
"You're going to medical."

"id let the world burn for you"
"I'd kill for you"
"id die for you"
"I'd sacrifice the world for you"
BORING!
Yawn snore snore. Honk shoo honk shoo.
I got twelve other guys ready to that for me. You already do that. You already destroy the world I would just happen to be there while you did.
The real question is.
Would you save the world for me?
Would you put aside your hatred for humanity and put my love for it Infront? Would you save the world because I love the world? Would you stop killing because I hate killing? Would you find a way to live because I want you alive?
Death and destruction are easy as hell. Do you know how fucking easy it is to kill someone? To blow up a building? Shure security is in the way but if it wasn't there it would be easy as hell.
You'd do the basics Shure. But would you do the hard thing and save the world because I asked you to?
Would you push aside your hatred of everyone but me because I asked you to nicely?
Would you?

Prompt #7
"So a siren takes the form of whoever you most desire?"
Supervillain rolled their eyes at Henchman, "It takes the form of whoever you love the most. Love and desire are not the same thing. You would die for someone you love, not someone you only superficially desire."
"Yeah, okay...but Villain is on deck right now and..."
Supervillain whipped their head around, "What do you mean Villain is on deck?! I expressly gave the orders for everyone to stay below!"
"I know but sir...."
"No buts! Go out there and get them back inside!"
"You should really see..."
"Really see what?"
Henchman rubbed the back of their neck, "The form the siren took for Villain, to lore them outside...it looks like..."
Supervillain narrowed their eyes, "Like who?"
"Like Detective."

Short Prompt #1378
“I see you’ve made a new acquaintance?” Supervillain asked, walking up to the two.
“Yup!” their partner chirped. “This is Villain! He was just telling me about his newest idea to take down the heroes.”
“Oh, was he?”
The villain, who was secretly Hero in disguise, was currently shitting his pants in fear. This mission was not going according to plan.

“You’re a super villain.”
“And you’re gorgeous.”
“What?”
“Oh, sorry love, I thought we were stating facts.”
“You—“
“Called you gorgeous? Yes.”
“No—that’s not what I—god, you collapsed the bridge this morning.”
“Ah yes. I did that too. In more pressing matters, do you have a preference towards wine?”
“I don’t—“
“I’ll pick, then.”
“All those people—“
“Were unfortunate casualties. Look. Stop trying to call for help under the tablecloth, I can see you. Look at me. I am a villain, yes, but I would give you the world. A hero? They would give you up for the world. Do you really want to love someone who will never put you first?”
“…no.”
“Excellent. Now, do you like pasta?”
“Um. Yes?”
The super villain smiled.
In the end, loving them was easier than the civilian had thought.

Hi! I love your writing style. Can you maybe write a fic about a villain who falls in love with a civilian, and the civilian getting over their initial fear of the villain?
Warming Up To You
Be Warned: Kidnapping
“So, what exactly are you trying to get from this?”
“Would you shut up?”
The civilian’s mouth snapped closed. They were handcuffed to the wall of, all things considered, a pretty nice evil lair. The villain was a few feet in front of them, staring at multiple computer screens as they typed something furiously. A part of the civilian was very scared of the villain.
A bigger part of them was extremely curious.
“It’s just,” the civilian said precariously. “Whoever your hero is, I promise you they don’t know me.”
“Your brother,” the villain said absently.
“What?” the civilian said incredulously. “There’s no way. When would he even have the time? I barely see him anymore--he’s always working.”
The villain didn’t respond. The civilian was too far away to see the text scrolling on their screens.
“So. . .how long has he been fighting you? Like, I always knew he kept secrets, but this? How could he keep this from me? I can keep secrets.” the civilian said.
The villain let out a frustrated huff and took their fingers off the keyboard.
“If I answer your questions, will you be quiet?” the villain said.
“Sure. I mean, I’m also pretty hungry.” the civilian said.
“You’ve got to be joking.”
“I’ve been here for hours!”
The villain approached the civilian, crouched down to where they were sitting, and glowered at them.
“I could always gag you and throw you in a dark room. That’ll shut you up.” they said dangerously.
The civilian swallowed nervously. But then they took a deep breath and grinned.
“I’m good. So, does my brother have any powers?”
The villain frowned. This person was no fun. With a sigh of resignation, The villain sat down.
“Your brother can stop time--so can I. That’s why he fights me, so he can stop me messing up the timeline. It’s really frustrating.”
The civilian raised an eyebrow. The villain huffed.
“Fine. We’ve been fighting for five years. I’m sure you can piece together how he finds the time with his powers. I’m sure he didn’t tell you to protect you. But it doesn’t matter, I found you anyway because I’m good at my job.”
“Hmm.” the civilian said, leaning against the wall. “Interesting."
“Now, leave me alone.”
The villain got up and started walking away.
“Wait.”
The villain turned around. The civilian saw them up close above them and knew how afraid they should be. The villain looked strong, imposing, and ready to fight. But being afraid wouldn’t help the civilian.
“Thanks. This is probably my favourite of all the hostage situations I’ve been in.”
The villain stared at the civilian, puzzled.
“What?” the civilian asked.
“. . .none of my hostages have ever thanked me before.” the villain said.
“Wait, other hostages? Who?”
The villain pointedly turned on their heel and kept walking. But the civilian was sure they saw a smile on their captor’s face. It was cute. The civilian felt themselves blush.

Mutually Assured Destruction
Snyopsis: Villain x Civilian. Civilian can sense other people's powers through auras but hides this ability. They are terrified of the most boring person at their office job, who hides the most powerful aura Civilian has ever felt.
Being the first person out the door undoubtedly did Civilian no favors to their work reputation.
Anytime someone joked about it, often with an edge, Civilian would make excuses: their dog needed let out (they didn’t have a dog), they had to get to the bank before it closed (they use their banking app 90 percent of the time), they liked having a work/life balance (that one’s true).
The real reason, of course, was to avoid any encounters with them. Their newest colleague -- Jonathan Anderson. A bland, forgetful name for a bland, forgetful person. He arrived two months ago in her data entry division, dressed everyday in the same unremarkable navy suit with a grey tie, gave generic responses to small talk at lunch.
And he scared the shit out of them.
Luckily for Civilian, their paths didn’t cross that often and when they would, Civilian had found ways to neatly side step them -- emails instead of face to face conversations, calling in favors, and once, even taking a sick day to avoid a meeting.
It worked great -- until it didn’t.
The elevator descended at an agonizing snail’s pace. Civilian stood in the back, gripping the railing behind them with a sweaty hand and tried to breathe slowly and evenly.
The only other person in the elevator with them -- and the only other person in the building -- was Jonathan Anderson. Because of course he would be working late the one time Civilian had a deadline change and a mad scramble to get everything read by tomorrow.
He stood in front of the buttons, his back to them, plain brown leather briefcase dangling from his hand. To everyone else, he looked harmless. But the sheer power of his aura radiated like the sun. It made Civilian light-headed being in such close contact with it.
Thirty more seconds, they thought to themselves. That’s all this elevator ride would last. After that Civilian could scurry off to the parking garage and screech out of here.
29 . . . 28 . . . 27 . . .26 . . .
The elevator came to a sudden, sickening halt and Civilian’s heart with it. They waited for the emergency alarm to blare, but the elevator stayed eerily silent.
“Is there . . is there something wrong?” Their voice came out shaky and hoarse. They cleared their throat.
For a moment Jonathan didn’t respond. Instead he turned around to lean casually against the wall and survey them, his face as bland and unreadable as always.
“That’s a question I think I should be asking,” he said, adjusting his glasses.
Instantly their hackles rose. It took considerable effort to keep the panic from their face, to force their shoulders to relax, to look confused and concerned.
“What do you mean?”
“You’re afraid of me.”
The truth struck true, lodging itself between their ribs. Civilian swallowed, suddenly dry mouthed, and tried to find the air again.
“You’ve trapped me in an elevator and you’re bigger than me,” they pointed out.
“That is rather nerve-wracking, I’ll admit. It’s almost believable. But this started a long time ago, didn’t it?”
He straightened and took a step towards them. And another. All while speaking in that affable, level tone, as if commenting on the weather.
“Since my first day here. Don’t think I’ve forgotten how you never shook my hand that day. Or that I don’t notice all the little tricks you pull to avoid me. Yet we’ve never had a negative encounter. You’ve never given me the opportunity to create a bad impression. It’s rather baffling, don’t you think?”
He stopped a safe distance away but close enough to prevent any attempt to escape. Despite being only a couple inches taller than Civilian, they loomed in the small space.
“So tell me -- how do you know?”
“Know what?”
It was their only defense, this wide eyed denial. To pretend they were discomfited by a bizarre encounter with their coworker, rather than straddling the edge of a panic attack while stuck in an elevator with a man who could kill them with a snap of his fingers probably.
He snorted. “You gave up the ability to be coy when you stepped into this elevator. Please don’t make me ask you again.”
Though he made no threatening movements, the swell of his power spoke for him, the pressure of it nearly suffocating.
“I can feel it,” Civilian whispers shakily. “Your power. Anyone’s power. They have an -- an aura about them and I can feel how strong it is.”
“So you can tell, instantly, who is and isnt a powered individual?” he clarified, his focus sharpening like the sun through a magnifying glass.
They only managed a nod, their throat tight.
“Fascinating.”
The hint of awe in his voice would have been flattering if Civilian hadn’t spent so much effort to avoid this kind of attention.
“And which organization is benefiting from this power? Who is keeping tabs on me?”
“No one,” Civilian said hurriedly. “I haven’t told anyone.”
A wicked smirk spread like slow poison across his face, transforming a visage that no one looked twice at into something terrifying.
“Do you think I’m as stupid as I pretend to be for work? There is no possibility that any organization would allow someone like you to walk untethered. Now, answer the question before I show you exactly why my aura frightens you so much.”
His hand hovered just over their heart, the beat of which a cacophony in their ears. Nothing happened -- yet. But the anticipation of it, coupled with the fact that Civilian still had no idea what such power was, made their whole body start to tremble.
“They don’t know about me,” they said, throat tight. “No one knows about me. I’ve kept it a secret my whole life.”
Jonathan still surveyed them with suspicion. “Why? I imagine you would be an extremely valuable asset to them. And those tend to be very well compensated. You expect me to believe you’d rather be a data clerk for a bank?”
A flash of rage breaks through the fog of terror. “My father was an extremely valuable asset. It didn’t stop him from dying an excruciating and unnecessary death. I’m not following in his footsteps.”
For a moment he looked taken aback at this confession before his eyes narrowed in what almost seemed like approval. It emboldened Civilian.
“Look, I don’t know what you’re doing here and I don’t want to know. If I tell anyone about you, it will blow my secret too. So just . . . let me stay out of your way?” They swallowed, tongue darting out to moisten cracked lips. “Please?”
For several agonizing seconds he just looked at them, his face blank as printer paper. Civilian tried to meet his eyes, to look trustworthy, but the weight of his flat, calculating stare was too much. Instead, their gaze fell onto his hand, still hovering over their heart, ready to crush them or incinerate them or dissolve them or whatever ungodly thing he could do.
And then his hand slowly slipped down further between them and flipped up, palm open.
“What take out do you enjoy?” he asked.
“ . . .what?”
“It’s a bit late for a restaurant, but I know several takeout places still open this time of night. Do you have a preference?”
It was Civilian’s turn to stare at Jonathan with their brow furrowed.
“You -- you don’t need to buy me dinner,” they stammered.
“Of course I do. It’s customary for a date, yes?”
“For a what?” Civilian choked.
That wicked smirk appeared again, giving life to the void of his neutral expression.
“You know what they say. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”
“I -- I’m not your enemy!”
“And you will never have the opportunity to be one. I’m ensuring it. And since you refuse to acknowledge my presence here at work, there is only one other recourse. Now choose or I shall choose for you.”
A date. Dinner. With him. Someone with the strongest aura Civilian had ever encountered. Someone who was definitely planning something illegal.
“I like tacos,” they said faintly.
With a wave of his hand, the elevator shuddered back to life and continued it’s gentle decent to the ground floor.
“Then we shall get tacos,” said Jonathan, taking their hand.

Prompt #182
CW: blood, stitches
Medic tried not writhe as the the villain finished stitching the gash between their shoulder blades.
“Hush,” the villain said, breaking the thread with their teeth. “It’s all ok.”
It was not. They’d just been attacked and left for dead by their own leader in the middle of a job. They were confused, weak, sticky with blood, and at the mercy of a dangerous criminal. They didn’t even understand why the villain stopped for them instead of continuing their pursuit of the field team. But here Medic was, frozen on the bathroom floor of deadly stranger, hands designed to hurt patching a wound made by hands designed to help.
Medic choked on an unexpected sob.
Hesitant fingers rubbed their back, careful not to come anywhere near the new stitches. How strange to be on the other end of the needle.
“They’ll pay,” Villain soothed and for a moment, Medic hoped it might be true.

Long Days and Shorter Nights
A/N: Warnings none that I can think of.
The Villain triedly trudged through their apartment, throwing their things to the side, and shedding their warm winter coat.
Their lover was right.
Today was a cold and windy day, with snow just now starting to fall.
The Villain smiled as they walked into the kitchen, being greeted by the cozy smell of a home cooked meal and the humming of their spouse.
"I'm home!" the villain said while taking a seat at the table." Sorry for being late."
"Oh villain, I didn't hear you come in, how was your day?, did those pesky coworkers of yours give you any trouble today?" The villain's spouse asked with a gentle smile, coming up from behind the villain rubbing their shoulders.
The Villain melted into their lover's touch, their eyes fluttering closed, and their lips slightly parting as they let out a sigh.
Although the villain's lover didn't know of their true career path, the villain did always try to be hosted with their lover, like addressing things by different names, such as, the hero stopped my heist which translates to my coworker screwed up an order, or the hero broke my gun translates to my coworker broke the stapler gun.
Ok so maybe the villain wasn't as honest as they would like to think they are.
But still they loved their spouse and had always been their true self whenever they were with their lover.
Without answering verbally, the Villain grabbed one of their lovers hands and guided it up to their cheek, silently nodding their head.
" I take that as a yes, my coworkers are causing trouble again. " the villain's lover said with a knowing sigh.
The Villain only nodded again as they leaned into their lovers' touch even more, their touch soothing the wounds to the villain's beaten and battered pride.
"That bad" the villain's lover said with a frown, running their hand down the villain's arm and intertwining the two together, kissing the villain on the forehead.
"Oh, next time they give you any trouble, you let me know. I'll straighten them out, pronto!" The Villains lovers said with huff, giving the villain a light squeeze from behind.
The Villain laughed at the thought of their lover chewing the hero's out.
"Thanks." the villain warmly said, with a small smile still on their face.

I wanted to write a civilian story and this is what came out of my brain. I hope y’all like!
Warnings: Mentions of a violent encounter with a pretty creepy bad guy.
The body floated, bobbed one might say, aimlessly in the expensive botanical garden’s pond. With the amount of algae in the water it was a wonder Civilian had seen the thing at all, let alone recognize the figure.
But recognize the figure they did… and it made the horrific sight all the more terrifying.
Civilian bit back a scream as the bloated body floated closer to them.
Bloated…that meant the body had been in there for at least a day right? At least that’s what all those cop shows said…Civilian was a historian, not a doctor…oh god it was getting closer!
Civilian clutched their messenger bag close to their chest and backed away from the pond. Five minutes…five minutes was all it took to scar them for life. Five minutes to change everything Civilian thought they knew about their gracious hosts at the historic hotel.
God, they were such a fool.
They had their suspicions. Of course they did, but when the opportunity came to stay at the very place they had spent years researching came up…there was no question. They had a sabbatical coming up anyway, where better to have it than on the actual location?
But now…
The body was face down, but it was no question who it was, and who had done this. Villain had been threatening the Senator for months, it was all over the news. But how did Villain know the Senator was staying in this specific hotel in England? Hell, why was Civilian’s timing so terrible?!
There was a rustling in the bushes to their right. Civilian whipped their head around hoping against hope that the sound was the normal squirrel or bird one would find in a botanical garden.
The rustling stopping as soon as Civilian looked over. They caught a glimpse of something metallic reflecting the sun…so, not an animal then.
Oh, god. Oh, god. Oh, god.
Maybe Civilian could play it off as if they saw nothing? Just glance away and find the path back to the hotel where there was a cell signal and they could call for help. That was good, now they just needed to look away.
Shit, why were they so frozen?
They slowly edged backwards towards the tan gravel path. Civilian couldn’t help but keep looking at the bush, waiting for whoever was in there to strike. As soon as they had made it three steps a deep voice rang out from the shrubbery,
“Got somewhere to be? You only just got here.”
Civilian turned and ran.
They ran faster than they ever had in their life. Their feet pounded on the gravel with as much force as their heart pounded against their rib cage. In their hast they couldn’t find it in their throat to scream for help. Help from someone, anyone.
Their running wasn’t fast enough.
A hand grabbed the back of their messenger bag and yanked them back. Civilian choked on air as their back viciously hit the ground. A knee was on their chest and a hand over their mouth as soon as their body was down.
“Now, now love. All I need is a little chat about what you just saw. No need to be so on edge.” The man on top of them wore a dark mask and his leather gloves smelled against Civilian’s face. The man’s silver watch periodically glinted the reflection of the sun with each spasm Civilian experienced.
They frantically tried to claw the hand off their mouth, tears already leaking from their eyes, and they kicked their legs out trying to dislodge the attacker. Their struggle, though, quickly stopped as the other hand yanked their head back by their hair at an angle which promised death if they struggled too hard.
“None of that now,” the low voice said. A voice that Civilian did not recognize. “I don’t want to kill you yet. There’s still some things I need from you.”
Yet.
Yet.
The word made new panicked tears come to civilian’s eyes. Their sobs were stifled by the rank leather that gripped tighter around their mouth.
“That’s a good one. Now, tell me, did you tell anyone where you were headed on this fine morning?”
Civilian froze. Wide eyes staring at the two eye holes the mask provided. What should they say? What would buy them more time? They could lie and say they had told someone they were going for a walk…but would that put someone else in danger? The moment the attacker knew Civilian was alone with no travel companion they would break their neck or drown them in the pond like the senator, they were sure…
“I can tell you didn’t,” the mask lifted a bit at the edges indicating a smile beneath. “Your eyes say it all. No one knows you’re out here then, hm?”
Civilian tried once more to push the man off, but his grip only tightened and he leaned more of his weight on his knee. Civilian’s chest ached.
“That’s a yes. You should never play poker my friend. You have every tell in the book.”
Civilian only cried more.
“You and the Senator were getting pretty close last night. Anything he told you that you wish to share?”
Pretty close? Civilian had only spoken to him for part of the evening about the hotel’s architecture. The senator had found it fascinating that Civilian could tell what year each part of the hotel was built based on the shape of the windows. It was nothing special…but that meant this masked man was at the party last night, watching them.
Civilian was going to throw up.
The hand eased a bit off their mouth, now just hovering over. Civilian’s choked sobs immediately sounded.
“Come on now, just tell me what you know and this will go as smoothly as I can make it. That’s quite nice of me, isn’t it?”
“I…” Civilian stuttered through the panic, “I…don’t know what you mean.”
“Of course you do,” The hand gripping their hair pulled even more, causing Civilian to choke on a gasp. “I know you’re a smart one. You’ve seen the news. Did the Senator tell you anything about making a deal?”
What? What did that even mean? They spoke about windows for fucks sake!
“No…no…we were…” They huffed out a sob that they couldn’t hold back.
“You were what?” The hand that hovered over their mouth now clamped on their throat. Just tight enough to cause pain.
“Windows,” Civilian cried. “We were talking about the windows.”
“Windows?” The man questioned.
“I…you can tell a lot about a building through its windows…I’m writing about the hotel…”
The man interrupted them with a laugh. The hand on their hair loosened and Civilain’s head was no longer forced back.
“Windows,” the man chuckled. “Fucking windows…and here I was worried.”
The hand started to card through their hair in an oddly intimate gesture.
“Sorry mate,” said the man with nonchalance. “Wrong place, wrong time I guess. Pity too, you’re sorta cute.”
The hand on their throat suddenly clasped and Civilain’s eyes blew wide as the man leaned down and placed both hands on their neck to squeeze.
The man put his weight onto his knee and arms, effectively cutting off all air and making any of Civilian’s struggling pointless. Still, they clawed at the hands and kicked their feet, feeling the blood rush to their head.
No, they thought at black spots appeared before their eyes. Please, god, no.
“It’ll be over soon, love.” The man’s voice barely registered.
Civilian felt their hands go numb and their kicking stopped as their energy drained like a bath with the stopper pulled out.
“Yeah, it will.”
A slash and the pressure on their neck and chest was gone. Civilian coughed and gasped as air flooded their body.
From the corner of their eye they could make out two dark shapes struggling beside them, but through the coughing and the tears they couldn’t make out much.
Suddenly they felt themselves being picked up and thrown over a shoulder. They make a sound of protest, despite their damaged throat.
“Hang on, mate. I’ll get you somewhere safe.”
Civilian knew that voice. They knew it, but their battered body could do nothing to protest.
Civilian could only hang off the broad shoulder as Villain swept them deeper into the garden.
