The pair were walking through the city, late at night. The civlian’s companion turned their head in the direction of the loud voices, coming from around the corner

“Yeah, I do. Maybe we should check it out,” the companion said.

The two walked up to their corner and poked their heads around. To their surprise, there stood the hero and the villain, in the middle of a heated argument.

“For the last time,” the hero rubbed their hand over their face, “you can’t threaten to blow up everyone who inconveniences you!”

“I have a lot of feelings! It’s how I express them,” the villain responded, clearly offended.

Yo, I'm back! Just an update regarding Trouble in Paradise.

As we near the end of the arc, the stakes are going to be escalating dramatically, and there will be heavy discussions of some topics that could potentially be triggering. While we will continue to be using #trouble in paradise we will also be tagging and/or including warnings depending on the specific content of the post. If all goes to plan, the final 2-3 posts of the arc will be posted on November 20th and 21th, though these dates are tentative.

Hey everybody!

I know I haven't really been active, school has been kicking my butt. But I would like you all to know that I plan to have the next chapter of Trouble in Paradise done in about 2 and a half weeks. Right after finals. After that hopefully I'll be able to write much more. Sorry for the unplanned hianis.

I’ve got some bodyguard myself that would put those two to shame. Perhaps you should leave those two behind and travel by yourself? You seem somewhat capable handling yourself. (They take a judgemental look up and down at you) Actually no, perhaps that’s too strong of an assumption.

          when  ruby  envisioned  her  life  with  aasim,  what  it  had  turned  into  had  not  been  what  she’d  expected  or  necessarily  wanted.  yes,  she’d  wanted  a  family  with  him—having  as  many  kids  as  they  had  wasn’t  the  problem—and  no,  she  didn’t  mind  that  he  had  to  take  time  for  his  work,  but  she  was  busy  too  and  still  had  to  take  care  of  everything  else.

          she’d  tried  to  be  patient  with  him,  tried  to  be  understanding—but  a  woman  could  only  take  so  much.  the  stress  of  her  job,  of  raising  their  kids,  and  fearing  over  whether  or  not  her  marriage  of  nearly  two  decades  was  finally  crumbling  weighed  on  her  too  heavily.  she  wasn’t  sure  how  much  more  she  could  take.

          when  aasim  had  dismissed  her  that  night  when  she  tried  to  get  him  to  come  to  bed,  the  tone  he’d  used  at  that,  she  found  herself  sighing  and  shaking  her  head;  begrudgingly  resigned  to  the  apparent  fate  they  had  waiting  for  them.

          “ can  only  be  another  sign, ”  she  muttered,  more  to  herself  than  to  aasim,  though  it  was  said  loud  enough  that  he  could  hear  if  he  was  paying  attention.  “ i  cannot  keep  what  isn’t  mine… ”
