initially, you had a rough time after the breakup with rafe. tissues from crying were littered all over your room, you ghosted your friends, and you’re pretty sure you sold out the ice cream from the local grocery store.

turns out, he had cheated. you should’ve known something was up when his text responses became dry, didn’t want to go out in public for dates, and was always on his phone.

when you received the text from him saying, “I need to talk to you,” you panicked. your text response however, remained calm. you both met up, he confessed he cheated on you and wanted to break things off. you tried your best keeping a poker face but he knew you too well, knowing you were about to break down. he then had the audacity to give you “one final hug” before speeding off on his bike, leaving you wallowing in your tears. he never even apologized.

now, here you are, sunbathing with a couple of your friends. it’s a small island, so you occasionally see rafe with his new girlfriend, sofia. or was it sofie? you honestly can’t remember, and that was good. you’ve moved on, healed, realized that you were only with rafe because he saw you at your weakest.

as you watch your friends go in the water to cool off from the heat, you notice a familiar blond boy walking along the beach, alone. you take a glance and lay down on your beach towel again, not paying attention to him. until he calls out your name.

you sit up, and rafe stands over you. you want to see if you can ignore him, so you just wave him off, but you hear him scoff. it was awkward, of course, your ex was standing right in front of of you after almost a year of no contact. you decide to speak up, breaking the silence, “yeah?” and he bluntly says “we…broke up,” your eyebrows furrow. “okay? what does that have to do with me?” you respond. he sighs, “can we talk in private?” “alright, make it quick”

you both walk to a more secluded area, and he begins speaking, “we broke up because of you,” he sighs. “because of me? what part do I play in your relationship?” you cross your arms, scoffing. “sofia thought I was still hung up on you, and she was right, I was,” he looks at you, there’s shame in his eyes, and guilt in his words. you couldn’t believe what he was saying. he continued, “listen, I know I cheated on you, it was a shitty thing for me to do. my head wasn’t right, and…I took you for granted.”

you roll your eyes and scoff again, “yeah, you did take me for granted rafe…you knew how much I loved you, you knew how much I cherished our relationship…for you to throw that away-” he interrupts, “I know, and i’m willing to give it another shot. if you would just let me-” it was now your turn to interrupt, “excuse me? do you know how ridiculous you sound right now? you were the one who broke my heart in the first place, and now you’re crawling back to me? i’m sorry rafe, I won’t ever get back with you. never in a million years.” he sighed, defeated.

he hated seeing you like this, so happy. after that day on the beach, he tried to talk to you again via text. and again, and again, and again, until you finally hit the block button on his contact.

your paths crossed again at the wreck, you were talking with someone, a new friend perhaps. you were smiling and giggling as you ate one of your fries. of course he noticed you first, and his heart leaped. he wanted to come up to you and strike a conversation again, but he knew he would just get shut out by you once more. he wanted to get out of the restaurant as soon as possible, so he ordered and anxiously tapped his foot while mr. carrera fulfilled his order. as soon as his number was announced, he took the bag of food and rushed to his car, not caring that he was being stared at.

it hurt his pride, of course. he knows he shouldn’t be reacting this way, he has no right to be acting this way. but god, did he miss you. he missed the way he basically had you wrapped around your finger, you were so willing to drop everything for him at the snap of his fingers. sofia wasn't the same. she set him straight, didn't enable his behavior, and he hated that. rafe always got things his way, he couldn't control sofia the way he controlled you.

word gets around fast in kildare country. it didn't take long for rafe to find out that you have someone new. he quickly came to terms that you've finally moved on. however, he wasn't prepared to see you and your new boyfriend in person so soon.

you were living your best life, your skin was glowing, and you had the best boyfriend in the world, jason. he was the juxtaposition of rafe, a breath of fresh air. you two were having brunch at the country club, watching some of the members out on the field, playing golf or also having a nice meal. as you take another bite out of your avocado toast, you see a familiar trio walk in. you really wish this island wasn't so small so you wouldn't see him that often. it annoyed you more than it bothered you. you put your toast down on the plate, then spoke to your boyfriend, "i'm gonna use the restroom," he nodded his head. you stood up from your chair and went inside the building.

while on your way to the restroom, you ran into rafe. it had been six months after you blocked him, and you resisted rolling your eyes when he waved and smiled at you. he started walking towards you, and you hoped he knew how much of a stupid decision he was making. probably not, you thought. he was now across you, and you hear him speak up, "how are you?" "fine," you say, dryly. "heard some things goin' around town." rafe says, trying to keep the conversation going. "yeah, I have a new boyfriend," your voice is monotone. "oh, does he treat you better than me?" he asks. you roll your eyes and try your best to not just walk away from the conversation.

"yes, he does, rafe. why haven't you moved on?" your voice was slightly raised, and he sighs, "you know why I haven't moved on. I need you, y/n. please-" "rafe. i've moved on. you should too." you start walking away to the restroom, and he looks at you, defeated. you knew your worth, and you knew you deserved someone better than rafe.

he took one last glance at you before going back to topper and kelce. he sighed as your words hung over him. you moved onto better things now.

I'm lowkey obsessed with Yongzheng telling Zhen Huan on his deathbed "The entire world was mine, but it will be yours soon" like... it's the ultimate admission that he's been beaten, he knows he will be dying soon and Zhen Huan will have everything, and even worse at this point he's pretty much certain that she cheated on him and Hongyan is not his kid but he's so utterly powerless it's impossible for him to strike back against her in any way... In a way he's partly responsible because he's the one who propped her up for so long in order to live his Chun Yuan fantasy, and he was just so arrogant and self centered he did not suspect her of being duplicitous until the very end. He exploited Zhen Huan for so many years, and it ended up being his undoing. It's such a powerful scene because you have this monarch and the woman he considered his property, and she's turned the tables on him, brought him on knees, and she's about to be handed everything he cared about, his dynastic power and his throne (via her sons), and there's nothing he can do about it. He thought he was using her but no, he was also being used and she doesn't care a wit about him. And also she was poisoning him to death. No drama ending will ever be as cathartic as that.

Idea: Crowley decides to organise an event between NRC/RSA or its a mandatory/traditionally happens every few years, either Yuu takes over planning somehow or Crowley steals what he's been told about Yuu's prom.

It's chaos. Both schools have two different prom councils, and the only reason NRC isn't infighting (much) is because they're too busy battling it out with RSA over theme, location, catering, security, etc.

When the night actually happens, nobody is happy bc they have to deal with the other school, and infighting among NRC students means someone from RSA (tempted to say Niege but Vil might actually snap and strangle someone) wins. Actually, might be funnier if it's a background student from both school that wins King and Queen, and everyone else (who have been trying to sabotage each other all night bc they are competitive little shits) go ??????? (Ik it's a popularity contest, but it's the whole school voting lol)

Alternatively it all happens at NRC and someone from RSA sneaks in and gets Prom King/Queen somehow (cheating.) Chen ya would be funniest here, but Neige is always an option for the hysterical bitch fit Vil would throw. A real "He doesn't even go here??????") Moment.

Yuu is in charge of the prom committee via she's the only one who knows what a prom is AND she has a BB gun. Anyone who has three stupid ideas in a row or are being antagonistic on purpose will be shot.

Lowkey, Yuu would just plan the whole prom herself because no one NRC can be trusted with an actual group effort project. Let alone with RSA, one of them would have flipped a table, at least.

I think of anyone, Idia would be the most freaked out about it, if only because Yuu is 100 copying the decor of the ghost bride event for the damn prom. Idia thinks Eliza is back.

Crowley would then tell her that she needs to make sure there's room for RSA students who wish to join. And she asks him if he has 'RSA joining' money. Because there's about to be a shit ton of property damage.

Honestly, winning wise. Leona for Prom King and Vil for Prom queen. Vil because honestly...everyone in Pomefiore is running a full-on campaign at both schools for Vil to get the vote (Yuu doesnt tell Vil all of the Neige votes were thrown out because he didn't even sign up).

Leona wins because Ruggie thinks he's a fucking comedian and seeing Leona in a glitter shower with a gaudy ass crown is peak humor.

I don't get this fandom's fixation with insisting Blitzo is the one who views relationships as transactional when there's so many examples of him obviously wanting to have more than that. IMP is basically his attempt to make himself a new family with Loona as his daughter and M&M first as the people he wants to threesome with but more realistically, his friends

Stolas meanwhile behaves in a much more transaction based mindset where he assumes if he gives X he can get Y

he views his cheating on Stella as not counting as cheating because 'cheating implies a betrayal and [Stella] never gave two shits about [him]'. Even though the marriage was arranged and he never loved Stella either (he somehow forgot he burst into tears when he first saw her and was miserable about the whole idea?) he expected Stella to make an effort to love him because that's how marriages work. He didn't seem to appreciate that it being arranged would make his partner's feelings more complex and things might have gone better if he hadn't tried to play happy families with her, despite the fact he also had reservations about the arrangement and is gay so he should be able to empathize with Stella on some level

he assumes giving Via a trip to Loo Loo Land in the hopes of getting back their close bond but it isn't until he actually listens to her that any progress is made (and while on the trip he actively upsets her by harassing Blitzo right in front of her)

but the bigger example of course is Blitzo. he uses the book to get sex out of him, literally describing what they have as 'favors for favors' and 'transactional'

then he lowkey kind of does it again when he uses the crystal in the hopes of getting a romantic relationship in return

Stolas is so fixated on the idea of Blitzo as an object who just fulfils his desires that he punishes him whenever he has a life of his own to attend to (taking Loona for the jab) or whenever Blitzo points out his fantasies are not reality (replying to 'that's a romcom' with 'fuck you'). He's so committed to this that despite knowing Blitzo's insecurities he dances with someone else because that person is giving him attention and that's all that matters.

And when Blitzo doesn't respond to the crystal with what Stolas wanted to get out of the interaction - a romantic partner - Stolas dips immediately. He doesn't explain himself and he doesn't make any attempt to keep Blitzo in his life. It's incel logic at its core - he doesn't want Blitzo in his life even as a friend, despite the fact he supposedly likes him, because ultimately he doesn't actually see Blitzo as a person. he's an object who is supposed to fulfil the transaction Stolas is still unconsciously setting up

worse than that is Stolas has fooled himself into believing he's the good guy who was doing good things for him out of the kindness of his heart. he reframes exchanging his book for sex as 'supporting him', reframes humiliating him in front of a crowd by sexualizing him as 'letting everyone see how much [he] likes [Blitzo]', talks about his passive aggressive texts trying to get Blitzo to still come over on the full moon as 'wanting to spend time with [Blitzo]' even though those nights were probably going to end with Blitzo feeling like he had to sleep with Stolas, again

tl:dr but so far Via is the only person who can break her end of whatever exchange Stolas views an interaction as being without him getting pissy about it, since he tries to empathize with her even when he repeats the exact same mistake 5 minutes later. he doesn't care Stella was forced into marriage too since he expected her to play house because that's what he was doing, and he cares so little about Blitzo despite saying he thinks highly of him that not only does he not want his friendship, he's happy to ghost him after their fight in full moon then for a full month going into ghostfuckers. Blitzo didn't give him what he wanted and Stolas doesn't actually care about his feelings, so Blitzo may as well not exist

This fandom, and increasingly Viv, don't seem to have the first clue what Blitzo is or what his problem is or what he wants. He just does things in whatever order, according to what makes Stolas look better.

so in this universe, the adversity twins and the cheerleader twins actually dated in middle school/early high school before the adversity twins were actually out of the closet

it was less of a genuine relationship and more of a status symbol for amy, since 'twins dating twins' helped her win titles like prom/homecoming queen, as well as the fact that jay never actually liked amy all that much and him not wanting her made her want him to want her (even though she was more than happy to explore the 'freedom' of their somewhat platonic relationship by cheating on him with other guys)

mickey and sammy are in a MUCH better place than their older siblings, having always been more like good friends than partners and staying on good terms even after their breakup. they don't talk super often anymore, but will text each other once in a while to catch up and share photos of things in their lives, cute guys, or just funny pictures they found online. mickey is lowkey terrified of amy and tries to avoid her when he can, as she was pretty cruel to both him and sammy when they were an item--one of the things that always royally pissed jay off

oh and jay broke up with amy right after she and sammy got back from their final elimination from TDPI, just to rub salt in the wound. also her chipped tooth is a throwback to her downfall on the show via sammy feeding her the manchineel, just for fun yk ^^

Nah, like I think jokingly it is funny but when I look at the actual definitions used for the term it really does not completely make sense imo

Like, here are the definitions of ‘Industry Plant’, due to this not being a word/phrase in regular dictionaries i’m using the wikipedia definitions here:

“Noun. industry plant (plural industry plants) (slang, derogatory) A music artist associated with a label but appearing as if they are independent and self-made.”

In-universe? No, Tim debuted as Robin, Batman’s sidekick, he did not come to be portrayed as an independent hero until after years of being a sidekick and his sidekick history wasn’t hidden. So there has always been a ‘label’ (Batman) behind him very openly, rather than Robin attempting to appear self-made.

Out of universe? Also no, this doesn’t make sense. Tim has always been very openly portrayed as a DC Character/a Batman character, these things have never been secret/kept quiet to make him seem like an indie character. There’s always been a ‘label’ (big company/far more established character) behind him very openly.

In-universe? Well considering the vigilantes in Gotham pretty purposefully keep low-profiles, the concept of them trying to accomplish anything via marketing efforts is… nonsensical.

This is where I think the strongest argument could be made theoretically, but honestly especially if we’re talking ‘his entire history as a character’ rather than just like looking at a chunk of it, I still think it doesn’t fit. Because this part of the definition works in tandem with the first part—‘this entity is secretly backed by a bigger more well known thing, thus the marketing is why they’re popular’. When the entity the character is backed by isn’t a secret connection… it’s not a ‘plant’. There’s no obfuscation. For him to be a ‘plant’ the connection to someone more known/established would need to be subtle not… like on the literal promo material:

The categorically similar term that I think is far more accurate is ‘nepo baby’:

“Nepotism baby, shortened to nepo baby, is a term referring to the children of celebrities who have succeeded in careers, usually the same, or adjacent, career to their celebrity parents. The implication is that these children are only successful because they have inside access because of their parents due to nepotism.”

In-Universe it’s a bit less so for his origin as Robin since Bruce wasn’t his parent yet at that point, but Batman was still a parent figure/a larger connection that served to introduce Robin as a hero so it works.

But out of universe? OH YEAH. WITHOUT A DOUBT. Tim’s popularity absolutely is influenced heavily by his connection to Batman, I don’t think that is something that could at all be debated. It’s true! He was marketed as such, he was introduced as such.

so in conclusion: if we’re disparaging Tim as a character for cheating his way to popularity, ‘nepo baby’ is far more accurate than ‘industry plant’

ok so!! my biggest thing w them is that to me they are just. horrible for each other. they are soulmates they are tied together by the red string of fate but god is it unhealthy. like if u build a relationship off of brutally murdering ppl ur not gonna have a healthy dynamic i’m sawrry (ESPECIALLY when it ends with murder. u don’t kill ur gf that casually if ur relationship is healthy). there’s so little content of them but the bits we see seem pretty tumultuous (i base a lot off that one rainbow butler one shot bc that shit was so gay but sooo toxic it’s scrumptious) so i just run with it! they’re both very mentally ill and homicidal that shit was doomed from the start

the whole relationship like a slow build from their first meeting bc anne is immediately like Live With Me and they’re inexplicably drawn to each other (read: horny) but it’s a slow evolution from yearning and going marginally insane and probably like drunk making out they refuse to talk abt after to insane love confessions and kinda just running with the idea that they’re basically married. and the whole time it’s just a constant flux between desperately needing each other always and divorce worthy fighting. so much divorce worthy fighting.

grell falls HARD like really fucking hard like despite being the world’s worst gf she’s also more invested. she has insane tunnel vision for anne like she abandoned her whole life for her so ofc she does!! it’s a genuine obsession and it’s so unhealthy and she’s desperately needy and anytime it feels like it may be crumbling she goes hard on trying to sabotage bc she will not leave until the bridge is burnt to fucking ASH (she’s also insanely impulsive abt it like the minute she regains common sense she’s just like “why did i do that” and then wants to rekill herself so bad).

anne is very very infatuated but she’s kind of the normaler party in the sense that she can have a life outside of grell (and grell does not like that). she’s a workaholic abt the murder and also about the Being An Aunt and she’s having a crisis of morality at all times and this makes her very preoccupied but also lowkey without grell she’d kill herself. grell is like her key to being able to live with herself morally it’s like. “no one will love me with how horrible i’m being but this bitch not only loves me but also condones my atrocities!! if she leaves me i’m blowing up the world.” but the thing is she’s confident enough that grell Won’t leave her to not be as invested in her. and she’s also not afraid to be a frigid bitch when she’s pissed at her and can be so extremely hot and cold about everything it’s absolutely insanity inducing.

they’re stuck in this insane loop of being madly in love, anne kinda zoning out of everything and getting cold, grell vying for attention via acting out or manipulation or cheating or something, Big Fight, and then back to being madly in love and they NEVER WANNA STOP bc they understand each other so deeply and fundamentally in a way no one else ever will!! they enable the worst parts of each other and they feel so safe with each other. they’re each other’s home but god that home is the worst place you’ve ever stepped foot in.

there’s also an internalized homophobia layer going on for sure that definitely does not help things. esp bc anne was probably grell’s bi awakening. i always write madam red as a lesbian who has already unpacked that and dealt with it so while she has like. period typical internalized homophobia it’s way less of a Thing for her. but for grell it’s just like Oh God What Is Happening Why Do I Want To Live In Her Skin What Are The Gender Implications Of This I Am Having A Bad Time!! so like the double whammy of a full blown sexuality crisis and first time doing commitment r driving her a little insane the whole time.

it also makes grell nerfing anne a lot less random in my brain. she just snapped in that moment and it was a 2.5 year buildup of frustration that she just let loose bc she felt like she was being rejected and like all her fears of abandonment were being confirmed and she kinda just lost it. i don’t even think she fully gets why she did it tbh it kinda just happened and she ran with it and processed it all two hours later and was like “oh shit i’m going to pretend that won’t make me wanna die forever” but it’s also just a response to a constant pattern of Fucking Everything Up So Bad Now, Kiss And Make Up Later except oopsies it was fatal this time!!!
