“Stay close, Jieunie.”

Jieun could feel the light tug of Yunho’s hand on her arm as they walked down the stairs, relieved that filming had finally concluded. It was only the first day, but the long hours and lack of sleep left her exhausted, and she was glad she could get out of the view of the cameras before her mood started to show.

Who knows what the editors could do with that footage. 

Jieun chuckled at his concern but allowed him to maintain his grip on her sleeve as they made their way to their dressing room. “Oppa, I think I’ll be ok.” 

“Ya, Song Jieun!” 

The sudden calling of the girl’s name caused her to freeze in the middle of the waiting area, along with the other members of ATEEZ. They all looked back to the source of the voice, noticing the members of THE BOYZ quickly approaching, presumably on their way to their own dressing room. 

“Geez, Sunwoo. You don’t have to be so aggressive,” Jieun said, shaking her head. She took a step toward him, not noticing Yunho’s slight disappointment as he reluctantly released her arm. 

“What was I supposed to do if you kept on ignoring me?” he complained. “You didn’t even make eye contact with me during filming!”  

Jieun rolled her eyes, giving him a light shove. “You deserve it, considering you didn’t even tell me you’d be here.” 

“Neither did you!” Sunwoo protested. 

“Sophie! It’s good to see you again,” Jacob said as he approached the two, stopping beside his member. 

She smiled at him, nodding. “You too! It’s been almost 4 years, hasn’t it?” 

Before he could respond, more members of THE BOYZ showed up, each greeting the girl as they walked by.  

“Jieun! You’re so tall now!” Younghoon said, smiling at her. Jieun bowed back, reciprocating the smile as she waved at him. While the rest of the group continued on their way, Sunwoo stayed behind, as well as Jacob.  

“Wait, you know them?” 

Jieun looked over her shoulder, eyebrows raising as she saw the baffled expressions on her members’ faces, though Sunwoo spoke up before she could. 

“Jieun and I grew up on the same street and our parents are friends,” he explained. “She also came to our debut showcase in 2017.” 

A few of her members’ jaws dropped as they stared at her. Upon noticing this, Jieun frowned, tilting her head. 

“I thought you guys already knew?” She was met with blank looks and head shakes. “Remember when we were trainees and I said I was going to go see a friend’s performance?” 

“We thought you meant a school performance!” 

Jieun shook her head. “It was their debut showcase. My brother and I went to go support Sunwoo and that’s where I met everyone else.” She turned her attention back to the boy, eyes narrowing as she looked him up and down. “Anyways, Jihoon-oppa says hi. And to call him.”  

Sunwoo chuckled. “How is he, by the way?” 

“He’s having the time of his life in med school,” Jieun said with a small chuckle. “Him and Yerin-unnie are still dating too.” 

“Has he popped the question yet?” 

“No, but I think they’re waiting until after he finishes school to-” 

Jieun was cut off as she felt two hands placed on both of her shoulders, Seonghwa standing behind her. She looked past him, only then noticing that the rest of her members had retreated to their dressing room. He gave a tight-lipped smile to the two idols.  

“Sorry, we need to head out soon,” he said with a polite nod. 

“Yeah, we should probably get going too,” Sunwoo said, glancing over at Jacob, who nodded. He looked back at Jieun and narrowed his eyes. “Respond to my messages for once, will ya?” 

Jieun rolled her eyes lightheartedly, letting out a single chuckle and waving as Sunwoo and Jacob walked off. She turned around, following the eldest back into their dressing room where the other members were already waiting. 

“Jieun! Glad you could join us,” Yunho said the moment she stepped foot into the room, a sharpness in his tone she hadn’t heard in a while. Although confused, she slowly took her seat on the couch beside San. 

“Yeah, we thought you’d never stop talking to those guys,” Jongho remarked airily. 

Yeosang nodded. “You seemed really comfortable with them.” 

A frown made its way onto Jieun’s face as she glanced around the room, the other members seemingly preoccupied by their phones, though it was clear they were just trying to avoid her gaze.

“Did I do something wrong?” she asked, looking over at their leader. Even he didn’t want to look at her. “If I did something wrong, I’m sorry, but I can’t correct my behaviour if you guys don’t tell me why you’re upset with me.” 

The members exchanged glances over her head, their silence causing her heart to drop. Suddenly, San wrapped his arms around the girl, squeezing her tightly. 

“We’re so sorry, Jieunie! You did nothing wrong!” He pressed his face into her shoulder, voice reducing to a whisper when he next spoke. “Please don’t leave us for them.” 

Confusion and bewilderment spread across her face as she held onto his arm. “Oppa, what? Why would you ever think-” Jieun paused, mouth left agape as she looked up at her other members. “Wait. Are you guys…jealous?” 

Their lack of response spoke volumes, the air so thick it could be sliced with a knife. Jieun carefully pried San’s arms off her before bringing herself to her feet. She walked to the side of the room, turning so she could face all the members at once. 

“You guys are always telling me I should talk to more people,” she reasoned, crossing her arms. “And I’ve known Sunwoo since I was like 6. He’s part of the reason I became an idol.” 

“But still, you don’t have to be so friendly with them,” Wooyoung whined. “You’re a member of ATEEZ, not THE BOYZ.” 

Jieun took a deep breath as she bit on her lower lip, trying to fight the smile that threatened to spread across her face. 

“Oppa, if it wasn’t for Sunwoo, I wouldn’t be a member of ATEEZ,” she said, earning a few surprised sounds from the others. “Remember how I said I was scouted in a convenience store? I thought it was a scam, but Sunwoo was the one who convinced me to audition for the company just in case it wasn’t. If he didn’t, I probably wouldn’t be here now. And do you guys remember that snack basket we got when we debuted?” 

“The one you said was from your brother?” Jongho asked. 

Jieun nodded in response. “Yeah, it was from Sunwoo. My brother and I used to stay over at his house a lot when our parents were busy at the hospital. His home became ours for a while, and he literally refers to me as his younger sister.” She sighed as her gaze flicked between each member, the guilt evident on their faces. “But you guys are my family too, and I promise I’d never leave you guys for another group. You’re the only boys I’d willingly stay stuck with.” 

“Jieunie, we’re sorry for being jealous.” Seonghwa walked over to her, draping his arms over her shoulders and tucking her head under his chin. 

“It’s ok,” she said, the corners of her mouth curving upwards as they rocked back and forth. One by one, the other members approached them to engulf the girl in a hug, effectively trapping her in the middle. 

“Now you can never leave,” Wooyoung cackled. 

San grinned. “You’re stuck with us forever.”  

Jieun sighed, welcoming the warmth from the multiple bodies surrounding her. She wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. 

BONUS #1: 

Sunwoo leaned his head against the car window and closed his eyes, grateful for the short chance to rest after a long day of filming. They were headed to the company for more rehearsals, so he knew this would be his only moment of peace for at least a couple hours.

The peace was short-lived, however, as his phone buzzed in his pocket. He let out a small groan as he took out his phone, squinting down at the screen. 

Jieun: Hello Sunwoo! This is Jung Wooyoung of ATEEZ. Jieun: Thank you for bringing Jieun to us. We’ll be forever grateful. Jieun: But she’s ours now <3 No take-backs.

The message was accompanied by a photo of the group, all eight male members surrounding an exasperated Jieun, who stared at the camera with a tired expression. 

Sunwoo snorted, quickly typing out a response. 

Me: I understand, Jung Wooyoung of ATEEZ🫡 Jieun: oh my god Jieun: wooyoung-oppa stole my phone Jieun: don’t mind him. he’s weird Jieun: tell everyone else i say hi, btw!  Jieun: cuz idk if my members will let me next time 💀 Me: I will, don’t worry

Sunwoo clicked off the conversation before going to his group chat with his own members. 

Me: Jieun says hi to everyone who she couldn’t say hi to before btw Haknyeon: Aw, Jieunie’s so adorable Changmin: Can we trade her for Eric?  Eric: What the heck man Me: No. Her members actually like their maknae Eric: :(

“How old is the youngest amongst you guys?” Changsub asked from across the room. 

Jieun looked back at her members with wide eyes, all of whom motioned for her to put her hand up. Hesitantly, she raised her hand alongside I.N. 

“I was born in 2001,” I.N said. Jieun nodded quietly.  

“So was I.” 

“You’re 10 years younger than me, and 11 years younger than these two,” Changsub said, motioning to his members and eliciting a few gasps from the other idols, along with silent laughter. “So you guys are the same age. When are your birthdays?” 

Jieun glanced over, making quick eye contact with I.N before gesturing for him to speak first. Behind her, she could hear her members’ quiet snickering, clearly enjoying all the attention on their youngest member. Jieun looked back, shooting them a quick glare before holding her mic up, waiting for I.N to say his birthday before replying with her own. 

“Ah, so you were almost born in 2002,” Eunkwang said with a small sigh. A couple seconds of silence passed as he looked over at his members before eventually turning back to her. “Jieun-ah, you can call us uncles.” 

Laughter burst throughout the room, the loudest coming from her own members. Jieun’s jaw dropped before putting her hands over her face, heat rushing to her cheeks. She waved her arms at them, shaking her head. 

“No, it’s ok, sunbaenim.” Jieun took in a deep breath, subtly elbowing Wooyoung behind her, the boy still bent over in laughter. 

“Our baby Jieunie~” Jongho teased, causing her to narrow her eyes at him. 

Jieun eventually sighed, nodding in defeat and hoping that this wouldn’t be something her members would bring up in the future. 

(It would. It definitely would.)

which path will you take ? ⠀⠀ EXCEED ( 초과 ) , stylized as XCEED , is a fictional boy group underneath POSER RECORDS that debuted in august of 2014 with their first sub-unit known as XPLOIT. the at the time seven member lineup became known for their "defying the status quo" concept ; exploring the more harmful, realistic route that one may go down when unable to meet the high expectations of those around them.

their sound, while accompanying their message, was often deemed "noisy" or "too experimental." with their sales not doing too hot in south korea, POSER decided to cater them to their small yet dedicated western audience. most of their lives were spent touring north america with LOS ANGELES becoming a second home to them. though due to the steady decline domestically, the label will eventually pay them no mind once debuting ARM CANDY in 2020.

many speculation about the group disbanding has resurfaced online over the years as leaked information about possible sub-units and alleged members came and went: the only thing keeping the public's interest aside from the occasional debate over their discography and the endless list of scandals the boys got themselves in. to the surprise of many, in 2022, XPLOIT will release their 2nd full album titled STARBOY : ACT I ─ the first fully self-produced project that strayed away from their typical heavy edm and leaned more in hip-hop and r&b. skepticism, a few half naked promotional shoots, individual videos for their album sampler, and some fun videos were what led non-fans and loyal ones to elevate their sales beyond expected. XCEED were finally redeeming themselves to everyone who doubted them...

and what better way to capitalize off their recent success then to debut their new sub-unit in 2024 ─ twelve years after the abandonment and lack of care for XPLOIT! april of 2024 will introduce the six member group called XACT. their concept was meant to contrast their brother unit: what happens when you feed into the peer pressure of those around you and actually do exceed expectations ? ironically enough, XACT was met with more grace thanks to the younger and more youthful features of the members who had racked up their own solo fanbases over the years. not only did their debut mini album outsell XPLOIT's entire career debut single, but they were quickly deemed as monster rookies to look out for within the industry. with the new addition on the rise alongside the eagerness that awaits another successful comeback from XPLOIT, many wonder if the timing of XACT'S debut was good or if POSER just accidentally sabotaged the older unit.

these two are like twin flames in the way they work. their interactions are often filled with light-hearted teasing and affectionate gestures. They share inside jokes that revolve around playful nicknames and funny anecdotes, which bring a sense of warmth and joy to their friendship.

you will not find these two sitting next to each other and not hugging, cuddling, or anything of the matter ( unless in interviews of course ) , they're always together like her legs could just be on his whilst sitting and they'd just be paying no attention to it bc its so subconscious its a natural habit.

she also feeds him a lot and whenever she cuts fruit or cooks food, he'll be the first she feeds ( besides leader bang chan )

many fans would describe their relationship as mother bird to baby bird since she tends to often care for him as such. She is a little shorter than him ( and I mean by sooo little, emphasizing so) so he'd often lean on her whenever she was standing next to her.

we all know jisung is notorious for using baby/jagiya as a nickname and it's something he also tends to call her as well. "자기야 그거 나한테 줄래?"

he also sometimes jokes and calls her noona ( older sister ) because she scolds him sometimes for his messiness.

they weren't always peachy though, their relationship is crazy.

back when she first joined the group, he was also one of the unsure members but he was a little vocal about it often mumbling stuff as she messed up and got frustrated. it was a hard time for all of them at that time and that contrast just made it worst.

it wasn't until he caught her crying in frustration that he went over and spoke to her, apologizing if he's made it even worse for her and explaining how he was stressed. she explained how it wasn't just what he was saying or the distance of the members but with the add on to the fact that some fans weren't happy with her joining and that she was nervous to officially debut with the group because she'd be even more hated if she didn't do things right

they had a long chat that day and talked deeply about everything.

absolute married duo, they're always arguing in some way but it's like their debate love language.

seungmin will not pass up an offer in finding some way to bother her and she both hates and loves it.

like for example, she could be lying down on her bed scrolling through her phone and then he comes into the room and sits down next to her before surprising her with a pillow to the face and now a pillow fight has broken out with lots of silent giggles and cries from whoever is being sat on with a pillow on their face

celine is obsessed with seungmin's teeny waist and will grab it randomly with affectionate aggression , squeezing it tightly as she replicates that little angry puppy face he always does.

he'll do it as well sometimes but it's only ever subtle and when she doesn't notice.

we know seungmin is someone who seems like a menace and revels in being cold and heartless but he's very deep when it comes to love and care towards the kids and whenever they have talks, like he'll listen to her, she'll listen to him. and thats what he truly likes about her; the fact she'll listen whenever he rants and shows genuine happiness whenever he gets her a gift despite pretending to hate it when he initially gives it to her.

whenever they do lives, she'll have her phone angled to where seungmin can see it from where his head rests on her shoulder. she knows they always tend to use his phone for the lives for whatever reason so she'll have something to keep him entertained.

they hold hands sometimes , especially when it's cold she'll just be slightly jumping beside him, trying to get rid of the cold feeling that freezes her skin

and seungmin will just be standing statue-like as he has a small smile on his face, his forearm slightly bouncing because of the jumping girl beside him

celine and jeongin, since their days are so close are the type of people that act like twins who are fighting to see who's the eldest.

celine and Jeongin’s relationship can be best described as twin-like, marked by playful banter and an affectionate sibling dynamic. with celine’s birthday just days before jeongin’s, she often embraces her "older sister" role, delighting in asserting her dominance over him. she often says stuff like “I’m older than you, respect me.” which often gives her eye rolls and playful protests from jeongin

she doesn't often like physical affection by him since she's not used to it ( he doesn't like physical affection either ) but she'll resort to head massages which he often likes and will clothes his eyes for them because they comfort him.

she's one of the first he'd call if he'd gotten arrested, besides seungmin and the obvious leader bang chan. she's always there to listen to his rants and his insecurities and there to help him feel better

sometimes, when he comes to her room to nap, she'll say "tell me about your day" and he'll be lying in her bed just talking about the day. she uses it as asmr and ends up drifting into the best sleep imaginable and wakes up, drooling with vocalracha standing over her face giggling and taking pictures

POSTED ON FINN'S PRIVATE TIKTOK ACCOUNT, THE DEEPDIVE MEMBERS MAKE A CANDY SALAD WHILE TRAUMA DUMPING.

˗ ˋ 🌊 CONTENT WARNING ﹕ based off the tiktok trend where people trauma dump while making a candy salad, duh. so, trauma dumping but everything mentioned is not in detail! mentions of abusive parents, homophobia, fat shaming, drug addiction, grooming, sexual abuse, cps, suicide, and death. again, none are in graphic detail and are portrayed in a slightly comedic light. here's dowon's introduction piece, just pretend he's been here the whole time instead of jacob lol!

Jisung is illuminated by an iPhone's camera flash, blinking at the camera as he proudly holds up a bag of peach rings. He looks beyond the camera for his sign to start speaking before looking back at the lens, smiling professionally.

"Hi, my name is Jisung, and when I was 5 years old, my mom decided to take my dad to court for child support, and he got really mad and ordered a hit out on her," Jisung shares with a nod, trying to fight back laughter as he lifts the bag of candy. "And I brought peach rings." He announces as he dumps the bag into the large plastic bowl in front of him.

Dawning a blue hoodie and tousled blond hair, Finn smiles politely at the camera.

"Hey, I'm Finn, and I became addicted to drugs when I was seventeen, so now I have these massive gaps in my memories where I have no idea what happened, but I know it wasn't good," he says with ease, dumping the bag of green gummies into the bowl with a thud.

Kiwoo poses naturally when the camera is on him, holding his bag of M&Ms off to the side of him like he's a game show host.

"Hi, my name is Kiwoo, and when I was 18, my sister killed herself when our parents were out of the country, so I had to be the one to identify her decaying body. I brought M&Ms." He gives a peace sign before dumping the bag of M&Ms into the bowl with a dull clatter.

Noah can't bite back his laughter when the camera is on him, curling his lips in before waving shortly to the camera.

"Hey, I'm Noah. When I was 16, my mom died in the hospital, and when we were doing her honor walk, my dad leaned over to me and whispered, "This is all your fault." and then acted like nothing happened." Noah nods at the camera as his lips form a line before looking at the bag of candy in his hand. "I brought Nerds Gummy Clusters!" He cheers with a forced smile, dumping the candy into the bowl.

Woojin snorts when the camera is on him, tucking his long black hair behind his ear. "Hi, I'm Woojin, and when I was being sexually abused by our manager, I told our CEO in hopes of getting her fired, but, um, I got fired instead! Um," He looks at the bag in his hand, chuckling softly. "I brought blue raspberry gummy straws." the straws land with a dull thud in the bowl when he dumps them out.

Blue blinks at the camera before looking off at the murmuring off-screen, laughing at something Finn said before lifting up his small bag of Sourpatch Kids. "My name is Blue, and when I was 6, my dad threw a vase at my head because he thought I was gay," Blue laughs when the words leave his mouth, the rest of the room laughing with him as he lifts the bag up victoriously. "I brought Sourpatch Kids Watermelons!" He cheers, dumping them in the bowl.

Dowon pushes his hair back with one hand before waving to the camera, unenthused by this group activity suggested by Finn. "I'm Dowon, I'm the leader of DeepDive, and when I was 18, I had a really toxic girlfriend who always argued with me over anything and threatened to kill herself when I tried to break up with her. So, one day, we were arguing over the color of my shirt, and she said she was going to kill herself for the 2000th time, and I said, "Then do it," and she actually attempted to do so in my room," He tells the camera like he's talking to a news reporter before looking at the candy bag in his hand, smiling dumbly. "I brought gummy bears." He simply pours them into the bowl.

Jisung is laughing when the camera is back on him, clearing his throat before waving to the camera.

"Hey, it's me Jisung again, and when I was, like, ten? I met my dad for the first time because he was trying to sue my mom for defamation, and the first time he saw me-" Jisung can't stop himself from laughing, causing the others in the room to laugh as well; he covers his mouth before clearing his throat again to collect himself. "When he saw me for the first time, he made the most disgusted face ever and said "I can't believe I helped create something like you." and proceeded to call me a bastard for the rest of the trial." His voice is tight from trying not to laugh before he lifts the bag of candy. "I brought blue gummy sharks." When he dumps the gummy sharks out, they land in the bowl, all clustered together with a dull thud.

Finn is already laughing when the camera is on him, looking off at someone and laughing harder before he looks back at the camera. "I'm Finn, and when I was eighteen, I had a much older girlfriend who got me addicted to coke, like cocaine, the drug, and one night when we were getting high, I was talking to her, and she was really quiet for a long time so when I looked over I realized she had overdosed and died." Finn makes a face that reads, "What can you do?" before shrugging and holding up his bag of candy. "I brought pink starburst." he dumps the wrapped candy into the bowl, shaking the bag slightly.

Kiwoo sighs at the camera before looking off at Finn. "How the hell am I supposed to follow that?" The room laughs at the other's lament, causing Kiwoo to smile softly before the camera cuts to him sitting up straight and looking at the camera.

"My name is Kiwoo, and when I came out to my parents, my dad said," Kiwoo can't stop himself from laughing, covering his mouth with the back of his hand. "My dad said, "We already knew that." and went back to eating dinner like nothing happened. I brought KitKats." He turned the bag upside down, dumping the candy into the almost-full bowl.

Noah points to the bag of sour gummy worms in his hand, nodding. "I'm Noah. Hey. And for the past seven years, I've been in a relationship with our former manager, who is much older than me and started dating me when I was, like, sixteen, and she would get really mad at me when I would talk to girls my age. So, now, even though we don't see each other anymore, whenever I talk to a girl my age I get hit with an impending sense of dread and paranoia. I brought the sour gummy worms."

Blue smiles stiffly at the camera when it's on him, looking off to the side and realizing he has to follow that up. He sucks air through his teeth.

"I'm Blue, and when I was ten, my dad came back from a business trip and started yelling at my mom that she had gotten fat and then grabbed her face and started shaking her. So, I shoved him really hard, and he fell over and broke his arm because he was an old man. Then he threatened to sue me. Again, I was ten." Blue looks at the bag in his hand before raising it like he was cheers'ing at a bar. "I brought Skittles." When he dumps the bag of Skittles in the bowl, they scatter around the candy with a clatter.

"Hi, I'm Woojin," Woojin says, wasting no time when the camera is on him again, "When I was seven, I lived in America with my mom, and we lived in a motel because we were poor and one day, CPS came and took me away, but they promised I would see my mom again and foster care was only temporary, but now I'm twenty-three and I haven't seen my mom since," Woojin blinks at the camera, chuckling softly before giving a finger heart, causing someone to cackle off-screen. "Love you, mom. I brought strawberry cloud gummies." He laughs as he dumps the bag of pink candy into the bowl.

Dowon sighed when the camera was on him again, tilting his head at it as the others laughed around him, making him break into a smile. He shrugs his broad shoulders.

"What's up, guys. I'm Dowon, and my mom? She was an alcoholic who only started talking to me again once I got rich and famous. I don't remember anything from my childhood thanks to her." He snaps at the camera like he just said something cool and not traumatic before pointing to the bag in his hand. "I'm topping this all off with some chocolate-covered pretzels." Dowon unceremoniously dumps the chocolate-covered pretzels into the filled bowl, laughing under his breath.

It cuts to a shot of Woojin shaking the bowl of candy up with intense concentration, brows knit, and lips pressed into a line as Finn works at stirring it with a plastic fork. The camera work is similar to being in a club, moving close in on the boys, then bouncing away, disorienting at best and nauseating at worst.

The last shot of the video shows Finn proudly showing the camera the candy salad, holding the bowl like a newborn infant instead of a bowl of candy. "All our trauma is in here," Finn jokes, motioning around the candy with his finger.

"That's not even all of it," Blue jokes off-screen, obviously chewing on a gummy bear. "We'd need a much bigger bowl for all that."

⁺ . 𓆩 ✞ 𓆪 . ⁺ 🪦 ⠀⠀ RULE OF ROSE are a five-piece fictional band that debuted in 2019 under POSER RECORDS. before becoming an official band, rule of rose was originally known as girlfight ⏤ a side project on soundcloud made by trainees onjo, jae, and aries in an attempt to pass the time until they debuted. being in a band, while fun and kept their passion for music alive, was never the endgame plan for them; onjo && aries desperately wanted to be soloists while jae hoped to make it in a girl group. as time went on, and their chances of making it on stage became more and more slim, the fear of never making her dream come true pushed onjo into pursuing the idea of girlfight being an official act. joon, their ceo, caught wind of her attempts and figured that signing an all-girl band wasn't a bad idea after all. there was only one thing holding him back from being completely satisfied with them, and that was his lack of faith that they'd get the proper attention.

going behind the girls' back, joon recruited former candygirl member harley kim in an effort to bring some star power to the table. despite the unwanted addition, girlfight was renamed and soon releasing their debut ep red solo cup season with their title track "a party anthem" on august 2nd, 2019. while their ep didn't break the roof, it still exceeded everyone's expectations, encouraging the girls that they can do better and be better with more time.

while it was onjo's songs that established their sound, it was harley's presence that brought in more and more fans; not only were her performances usually what got a crowd going, but her nonsensical, explicit b-sides were typically the more favored tracks on their albums. this resulted in harley being given the lead on their next upcoming album, upsetting those who preferred onjo's direction as well making people question if she was even good enough to create a title track. in a twist of events, trauma and tiaras was far from what people expected of harley ⏤ the title "where's my teenage dream?" becoming a commercial success and dominating the charts for weeks to come. not only did this cement rule of rose as the idol girl band of all time, it also proved that harley was just as serious about the band as everyone else.

the band continued on an upstream of breakouts and global achievements while the creative control over them often swapped between onjo and harley, and occasionally with jae, too. their fanbase only grew stronger and larger with 2024 being their best year after hex project's phoebe joined them. rule of rose remains one of the top three highest-selling idol bands to date, and they're only just getting started.

             LUNARIX is a six-member fictional girl group that debuted on July 17, 2023 under ANGELICO Entertainment. Rookies thrown into the UNFORGIVING landscape of the entertainment industry, Lunarix stands out amongst the rest with their UNCONVENTIONAL and QUIRKY sound and concept.

Originally known as "ANGELGIRLZ" during their pre-debut phase, the group faced immediate scrutiny. Their debut announcement quickly followed the disbandment of Angelico's top-performing groups, VENUS and DeepDive. Accusations arose, claiming that ANGELGIRLZ copied Venus' "VENUS PROJECT" with their pre-debut project, "The Angel Project." Angelico chose not to address these allegations.

The negative reception toward ANGELGIRLZ intensified when their leader, Angel, was exposed as a school bully. The group's pre-debut single, "Chu~♡," received a poor response from the public. Following this setback, Angel was removed from ANGELGIRLZ, and her contract with Angelico was terminated.

On their debut date of July 17, 2023, Siyeon, a former DollsWorld member, joined the lineup, completing the current six-member configuration. Despite this addition, Lunarix still struggles to gain widespread public affection and often becomes the target of online hate trains.

Siyeon, the leader of Lunarix, was born on May 13th, 1999 in Daegu, South Korea, to a bustling family of six siblings. Siyeon's path to stardom seemed destined from the start, as she was born under a Waning Crescent moon.

From a young age, Siyeon displayed a big personality and an undeniable need to be on stage, setting her apart from her siblings. Her innate charisma and talent caught the attention of many, earning her the title of the "survival show princess." Siyeon participated in numerous survival shows, consistently making it to the finale but never securing a spot in the final group. Despite this, she remained a beloved contestant among viewers.

house of cards is a south korean reality show created by mnet. hosted by twinstar’s oh hyewon, it premiered on march 5th 2021 and was broadcast every friday for thirteen weeks until its final episode. the series was broadcasted on the sbs m channel or youtube depending on the viewer’s location.

with fifty - two contestants being entered into the ring, the aim of the show was to debut a four - member group under the rising company kq entertainment. and with the growing success of their boy group ateez, it wasn’t long until those fifty - two slots were filled—auditions being held from january to february 2021.

divided into groups of four, a ‘pod’ would consist of thirteen members recognized in the four main categories needed to be a successful idol groups : vocals, performance, rapping, and personality—the last of the categories surprising its viewers. one member from each pod would be selected to represent themselves in their respective categories, as well as expected to keep up if asked to suddenly perform in the other categories. each week, four contestants were eliminated.

on the final episode of the show, aired on may 28th, it would be announced that the final four would debut later the same year.

in an unexpected turn of events, highly voted contestants choi janelle and yamada emi did not make the lineup. ending up in fifth and seventh place respectively, the top four spots went to kq trainees ahyeon and micha, pledis trainee yuina, and eunji—a recent university drop-out and convenient store worker. outrage from comets—fans of teenstar—and new fans of emi were inescapable for weeks online, marring the reputation of the show. but the hate didn’t matter. not to a certain staff member at kq.

house of cards was the brainchild of creative director yoon boeun, hired in 2020 and tasked with the creation and development of the project kqueenz. with her newly selected four, she would go on to partially introduce the girls to the world on june 14th, faces partially hidden in a similar fashion to their seniors. dancing to rico nasty’s counting up, four girls dressed head to toe in black gave a teaser of what’s to come. despite the show’s negative reception, the dance cover was quick to go viral—hate-watched or not. they would quickly gain popularity due to being of ateez’s sister group.

after the release of their dance video, the group would go through a series of debut preparations—the release of the official group name on july first, hijinxx, individual and group street performances from june to august, posters in public areas—all to raise domestic popularity. and on september first of the same year, hijinxx would officially debut.

Flight days were never Jieun’s favourite. 

She’d grown accustomed to flying after years of travelling to different countries for schedules, but there was something about airports that never really sat right with her. Maybe it was the stress of making sure her carry-ons were the right weight, or the long wait times. Either way, she couldn’t wait to get on the plane. 

The moment she walked through the airport doors, Jieun was greeted by a barrage of cameras and microphones in her face. She closed her eyes as multiple shutters began going off, blinded by all the flashes. 

No. This had to be it. 

Luckily, it wasn’t long before their bodyguards began motioning for people to back away, creating a path in the middle of the crowd. One of their managers went ahead, leading the way through the sea of people with the members following close behind. 

Jieun felt a slight tug on the back of her sweater. Looking over, she noticed Yunho standing right beside her, hand placed on the nape of her neck. His gaze scanned the crowd for a moment before he looked down at her and with a small smile, offered his arm. Although covered by her mask, the corners of her mouth tugged upward as she linked arms with the older man. They made their way through the crowd together, occasionally waving to the fans that called their names from the sidelines. 

Although she’d initially rejected his offers, Jieun had become accustomed to linking arms with Yunho whenever they walked through crowded areas. It started a few months after debut, with their growing popularity resulting in heavier crowds as time went on. At some point, Yunho had made it a habit to keep contact with Jieun to ensure her safety, whether it be holding onto her hand, her shirt, or through linking their arms. She wasn’t extremely bothered by crowds, if anything it was just a bit uncomfortable, but it was clear that the small gesture gave Yunho a bit of extra reassurance, so she humoured him. 

The swim through the crowd wasn’t long as they quickly made their way to the check-in area. Once out of the crowd, Jieun unlooped her arm from Yunho’s and reached into her pocket to pull out her phone. She opened her text conversation with Sunwoo, sending him a quick message. 

Me: good luck at your concert! i’m so sorry i couldn’t attend :( 

Sunwoo’s reply came almost instantly. 

Sunwoo: it’s ok, you’re here in spirit :)  Sunwoo: thanks for the snack basket btw Sunwoo: the members finished everything already 😐

Wooyoung walked up to the girl and rested his head on her shoulder as he looked down at her phone. 

“Who ya texting?” 

“Sunwoo,” she answered without looking up. 

Me: i’ll get a bigger basket next time 😭

“Ah, right. They have a concert tonight, don’t they?” 

Jieun nodded, letting out a small sigh. Sunwoo had told her about their concert long before it was announced to the public, surely breaking some rules in the process. She’d been excited initially, but it seemed that luck wasn’t on their side as her flight was scheduled on the same day and there wouldn’t be enough time if she tried taking a later one. The two groups’ tours also overlapped too much, so she wouldn’t even be able to see the concert in a different city later on if she wanted to. 

Wooyoung picked up on the way her shoulders seemed to droop after his question, mouth lowering into a frown. 

“Sucks that we had to leave today,” he said, to which she nodded. Wooyoung stood up straight and let out a small gasp. She looked over her shoulder to see a grin spreading across the man’s face. “You know what will make you feel better?” 

Jieun raised her eyebrows slightly, silently questioning him. Wooyoung reached behind him and grabbed his luggage, holding it out to her with a wide grin. She let out a single chuckle as she looked down at the luggage, shaking her head. Wooyoung had been talking about his new luggage for weeks, bragging about how he’d be able to ride around in style while everyone else would have to walk, in his words, like peasants. 

“C’mon, try it out!” Wooyoung exclaimed. “It’s so fun- look.” He pulled up the handle of the luggage before taking a seat. Jieun stepped out of the way as Wooyoung started riding around the waiting area, much to the amusement of the reporters and fansites that began clicking photos. 

After a couple laps, Wooyoung rode back to where Jieun was standing and hopped off his luggage. He motioned for her to get on, though the girl shook her head. 

“It’s ok, I’m good,” she said, causing Wooyoung to frown.

“Boo, you’re no fun.” 

Jieun rolled her eyes lightheartedly and shook her head. She glanced towards a few of the fansites waiting on the sidelines, waving to the few that she recognized. 

After a couple minutes of waiting, she felt a buzz in her pocket and reached to grab her phone. 

Sunwoo: Wooyoung’s right, you’re no fun

She looked up from her phone to see Wooyoung on his, a smirk settled on his face as he typed away.

“Did you seriously snitch on me to Sunwoo because I didn’t wanna ride the luggage kart?” 

Wooyoung glanced up at the girl with a casual expression and lazily shrugged before looking back down at his phone. Her eyes narrowed at the man before she typed out a response.

She glanced over at Wooyoung, his attention turned toward the other members as he tried convincing Yunho to try out the luggage as well. The latter eventually gave in and took a seat on Wooyoung’s luggage. Jieun watched as Wooyoung showed him how to use the controls before Yunho went off to take the luggage for a spin. Yeosang, having bought the same luggage, joined and followed Yunho around. 

“Looks fun, right?” Wooyoung said from where he stood beside her. Jieun’s eyes remained forward, purposefully avoiding the man’s eyes. “C’mon, Eun-ah, you know you want to.” 

As if on cue, Yunho rode back to where the rest of the members were standing and got off the luggage. He handed it back to Wooyoung, who looked at Jieun with raised eyebrows as he awaited her response. 

She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. After a few seconds of contemplation, Jieun let out a long, tired sigh and nodded. A wide smile spread across Wooyoung’s face as he pushed the luggage toward her. 

“Ok, ok, sit.” 

Unenthusiastically, Jieun took a seat on the luggage and placed her feet on both sides. She watched as Wooyoung showed her each button, how to steer, and which ones to speed up and slow down. 

“Got it?” he asked excitedly. Jieun gave a small hum in response. “Ok, let’s go.” 

Although hesitant at first, Jieun began slowly moving forward as she got used to the controls. She travelled forward a few metres before taking a U-turn and moving back. Jieun made a lap of the empty area before Yeosang put his own luggage into motion and started following the girl.  

Together, the two rode around the waiting area as their members looked on in amusement. Jieun smiled as she made laps, grateful for the mask covering her enthusiasm so she wouldn’t have to admit that Wooyoung had been, at least partially, right. She made a mental note to check out the link that Wooyoung had sent later.

However, as she turned to go back to the rest of the group, Jieun accidentally pressed the acceleration. In a quick attempt to slow herself down, she pressed on the brake, but the sudden halt caught Yeosang off-guard, who had been trailing behind her. He didn’t have enough time to stop, causing the two to crash into each other. Yeosang managed to remain steady and jumped up to avoid falling, but Jieun wasn’t so lucky. The suitcase tipped over, causing Jieun to lose her balance and fall to the ground before she had a chance to catch herself. Gasps echoed throughout the room. 

The members, who had been watching the whole time, were split between bursting into laughter and concern as a few of them went to help her up. Jieun stayed on the ground for a second, processing what just happened before she felt Seonghwa’s hand on her arm. 

“You ok, Eunnie?” he asked as she took his hand, helping her stand up. Jieun nodded and brushed herself off. 

“Yeah, I’m good.” She let out a dry laugh as blood rushed to her face. 

“Ah, Jieun, I’m sorry,” Yeosang said with a soft expression. “Are you ok?” 

Jieun blinked at the boy as she nodded sheepishly. 

“Don’t worry, I’m ok,” she reassured. Jieun reached over and picked the suitcase up off the ground, rolling it over to Wooyoung who was still bent over in laughter. “You can have it back now.” 

Wooyoung let out a sigh and stood up straight, wiping a tear away as he took the suitcase back from her. 

“Thank you. That was great, really. Thank you for that.” 

Jieun closed her eyes, breathing in for four seconds before slowly exhaling to calm herself down. After a couple cycles of this, she shook her head and let out a small chuckle. Maybe she didn’t need a new suitcase after all.

A content sigh left Jieun’s lips as she slumped into one of the lounge chairs. They weren’t the most comfortable, but she was just grateful for the chance to sit and relax for a bit after going through customs and security. She put her airpods into her ears, about to close her eyes when the sound of an incoming text caught her attention. Jieun looked down at her phone to see who had messaged her.

Jieun froze at the opened chat, staring down at the video playing on the screen. After a few seconds, her head slowly raised, and she stared at her members with a cold expression.

BITE THE APPLE is the FIRST FULL ALBUM of the fictional South Korean Co-ed group BRATPACK. Released on August 8th, 2024, the album housed eleven tracks, all of which were produced by the MOON SIBLINGS. Not a single member of BratPack could be found in the album's credits, but they're idols, not writers or producers.

The album's two title tracks, "TEMPASSION" and "BATTLE ZONE," were promoted for three solid months, making this their longest promotional period since their debut. They would take home only two music show awards, marking their first music show win ever as a group. 

BITE THE APPLE is a controversial album. Many people loved and hated it, but Twitter couldn't shut up about it, which was the whole point. Almanda Summers knows how to get the internet buzzing, good or bad, and with the particularly bloody yet sensual concept Bite The Apple went for, no one could shut up about this album. 

ACIDIC COMMENTARY: Bea was not given the same prompt as the other brats. She was asked, "What got you into music?" We're not sure why she was asked a question different from the others. This video was recorded before official track names were released.

With visuals inspired by the 2000 Japanese action film directed by Kinji Fukasaku Battle Royal, as well as biblical references scattered throughout their seven music videos, the group became Pinterest darlings and dominated Tumblr aesthetic tags. Though visually stunning, this would earn them the title, which I guess is supposed to be an insult, of a "visual group" meaning they were only good for their visuals not their music. BratPack stans would not take offense to this. Why would they? The argument was flimsy. Why are you mad they're stanning hot people with superb creative direction? Sounds like a personal problem.

However, the line distribution became more and more of an issue with fans as it felt like the girls were carrying the songs more often than not, with the three male members acting as backup vocalists or backup dancers. Though their lack of lines did not phase Chance and Jiu, Hajin often stole lines from his female counterparts during live performances. "I trained to be a singer. I'm going to sing." The youngest would say on a live stream. BratPack fans were split on how to feel about Hajin's attitude. As long as it didn't affect the group's dynamic, there's no harm in it, right? Plus, he was only stealing Brigett's lines. It's not like anyone is really here for Bridgett Lee. People only like her because of her brother. It's not an issue if she has fewer lines.

Dispatch has confirmed 2024’s first couple: Mingyu and Evelyn of SEVENTEEN!

According to media outlet ‘Dispatch’, the couple has been together since April 2022.

An insider reports that the couple were friendly with each other more than just as team members in the past and have grown strong feelings towards one another.

The insider continues that their most frequent meeting place is that of Evelyn’s secured place of residence just outside of Seoul. The couple has been seen out late at night walking Evelyn’s dog around the town with their hands joined together, sharing an occasional kiss with one another.

Pledis Entertainment has yet to respond to the reports.
