Had a bit of a "community heartbreak" last week, yet another one in a life-long series (though it'd been a while), so I malfunctioned for some days, took exactly one painkiller, and then finally tried to make sense of stuff that hurt me over the years and that I kept being clueless to for a ridiculous amount of time, so that maybe, hopefully, it could save some people in cases similar to mine some confusion and hurt

Jews are treated so unfairly and left out of so many opinions leftists hold, and this time I'm specifically talking about the lesser opinions that don't get talked about as much.

Like I've seen so many people say "minorities don't owe you kindness when you're bigoted towards them"

Yet as soon as a jew is no longer kind, or acts out emotionally, it suddenly not okay for us to do so.

"You should remove people who hold bigoted opinions from a group as you need to create safe spaces for minorities"

Unless it's antisemitism then it's fine and the antisemite is allowed to stay.

"You should listen to minorities when they tell you you're being bigoted"

Unless it's a jew telling you that you're antisemitic

"Nothing is too hard when it comes to unlearning bigotry"

Unless it's unlearning antisemitism or even simply unfollowing accounts which are antisemitic

And you don't have to personally agree with all or any of the statements above to understand that there is a sizable chunk of people who do agree and do have these double standards towards jews.

Antis, I think y'all need to understand some things:

Emotions = / = legality or morality

A crime is not a crime because it's "icky".

A crime is a crime because someone in some way got hurt. This is why something like thievery is illegal. This is why murder is illegal. This is the real reason why rape is illegal.

These crimes caused real people real emotional and physical distress.

A drawing/cartoon/written work can make someone sad or angry or squicked out, but that is NOT the same thing as being traumatized. Reading a bad book is not something that will affect your psyche for years to come and will possibly need therapy for. A real person is not being harmed, especially not the viewer/reader. You're not a victim, you're not standing up for victims, stop acting like it.

Also, sometimes: legality = / = morality and vice versa

It used to be legal to own slaves. It used to legal to treat black people like they weren't human. It used to be illegal for women to vote. It used to be illegal to be gay, and it still is in some places. It used to be legal to force people with disorders like anxiety and ADHD to go to horrible mental asylums where they were treated like animals. Today, in some places in America, abortion is illegal.

One more thing.

The way they got support for these things? The way they got the power and permission to do these things? The way they got people like you to let them do these things?

They claimed the people they wanted to attack weren't normal. That they weren't like you or me or the one saying this who is totally on your side, they definitely won't go after you the moment you do something they don't like or think you're a threat to them or you certainly weren't their next target anyway.

So when you say people aren't normal, that you only like normal things and those other things you don't like aren't normal so of course you're against them... You are repeating the parts of history that it's warning against.

I come on this platform mostly to just have silly fun, but seeing queer, and especially trans infighting on my dash is so frustrating.

Friendly reminder that if you don't support all queer identities you can fuck off. Building a community requires supporting eachother, but don't think I will keep people in my community who care only about kicking down others, that's crab bucket behaviour.

you can lose so many skills. lose the ability to mask. lose the ability to control stimming. lose the ability to use motor functions. lose the ability to take care our yourself.

it's so hard.. it's so scary.. we just got able to write again and it's so bad. you can come out of regression, you can gain skills back in some areas or all areas affected but it's so hard and you can always be forced back. it's not fair.

I think everyone but Jimmy would believe in Aliens to an extent and have a weird story about something that happened while in space that they link back or like a UFO or alien.

Curly talks about blips on the radar that move to fast or irrationally to be regular space debris. Too uniform or too fluidly, they disappear too fast too. Anya talks about weird flickering and medbay or like odd flashes on the day screen that are too direct and specific to be simple glitches. Swansea talks about random mechanics on the ship giving out in odd ways, he’s been working for years and things don’t work like that, maybe even a gear or sprocket found after landing he swears is to foreign to be manmade but P.E always confiscates it. Daisuke always wanted to believe and takes the experiences of his very serious superiors, especially Swansea, as proof and wonders if the Tulpar is like a magnet for extraterrestrial happenings.

so I got a new job today (very exciting, it was the number one place on my list of where I wanted to work) and I was super happy to tell the group chat about it, but one of my friends said congratulations, asked me how I got the job so easily (they've been job searching for months) and then basically said "oh, it's because you talked to a guy. pretty privilege" and you know what? That hurt my fucking feelings. I got the job because they happen to have a position opening up that my past two years of work has made me perfectly qualified for. I got the job because I'm smart and well spoken and a really hard worker, and because I expressed a clear desire to learn as much as I can and progress in the industry over time. It's not fucking "pretty privilege". I'm more than my face and body and it's fucked up that someone who's supposed to be a close friend would even imply that
