Murder, kidnappings, and corruption.
These are just some of the best known crimes of anti-communist Peruvian dictator Alberto Fujimori, who has just died. A few months ago he had claimed he would run for president again.

It is heartbreaking what just happened in Venezuela with the elections, especially with having to read people's opinions who obviously have never actually listened to Venezuelans or Venezuelans who are not connected to the government.
There were Venezuelans coming back after escaping the country just to vote, people getting rid of their fear to vote, my great-grandmother who needs aid to move went out to vote, all my family back home voted, and people all across the country went out to vote.
Some were not allowed, the military kept them out, and the military closed some voting boots, the law in Venezuela dictates that boots that still have people waiting to vote must wait for all to vote and then close, the law dictates that people are allowed to be on the room while the votes are being counted. None of that happened, boots with nobody waited to close past hour while boots with people were being closed, and people were not allowed in the room even though they were asking and demanding their right to be there.
People are protesting and risking their lives both yesterday and today, because the elections were rigged, and everyone in Venezuela is tired from their bullshit.
Please, please, please, don't say that the Venezuelan people chose Maduro, don't support whatever they say, even if they said they support Palestine, do you really want the support of someone who has destroyed their own country? ignore the needs and wants of their people? force people out of the country because there is no electricity, food, or medicine? I don't care where you fall on the political spectrum, THIS IS WRONG.
As a Venezuelan, I am crying and heartbreak for what just happened.

i know this will be a controversial statement for some people on this website, but you guys need to understand that being a radical communist with zero awareness of the nuance of living on planet earth is really not very different from being an alt-right extremist.
if you’re past the point of using logical thinking and understanding that societies and politics are complex and can be wildly different from one place to another, you’re just a fanatic, in spite of the place in the spectrum you place yourself on. you’re too swayed and brainwashed by propaganda. you’re just a blind fanatic, and your agenda becomes dangerous for real people living in the real world.

From a person living in Venezuela right now...
I haven't used tumblr for venting since I was around 16 years old and needed the distraction from everything going on and the rumble in my stomach.
Yeah, things got better, but they also got worse, so many people left, and started sending in money from overseas, that we had more resources available, but still, managed to learn to live in fear, to work around every single dehumanizing thing that happened and kept living.
Us youngsters, learned to ignore, to numb ourselves to the news, to not see the horrid things happening, to pretend we didn't care that minimum wage is 3.6 usd and just keep looking for ways to help our family up. Why? They were starving, patronizing and straight up killing us. Bullet to the brain of kids.
I, myself, remember a time when I was deep in depression and ptsd I got from being exploited at a job I was no longer working at, and not having a dime as a family for christmas dinner; you see, when almost every day is outrageously unbearable, days like Christmas or your birthday are things you can convince yourself to remain alive for. Then, all of a sudden I made a connection on Twitter and someone commissioned me, and thanks to that, we had a Christmas dinner that year.
To live like that for ELEVEN, ELEVEN YEARS, is devastating, it drains everything out of you, not having human rights, and not being allowed to raise your voice.
So if you see venezuelans asking for exposure, please help.
If you see venezuelans asking for donations, if it is within your capability, please help, if not, please share.
I, myself, have open commissions, my workplace is closed due to the civil war and I'm currently paid by the hour (so, not getting paid rn), so it's appreciated.
Thank you so much if you read my vent, but even more if you help venezuelans out spreading information.

The internet's going reaaaally slow for me but it's still there. I don't know wtf is going on and I also don't know if the government is trying to cut off our internet. I think I just heard gvnshots from far away. A friend of my dad told him and my mom to stay at home because they have a family (me and my brother, basically), and she told him she had to go to her boyfriend's house because she lives in the capital and the military was there, going against the residents who opposed. Holy crap I'm kinda scared ngl but we have to stay strong. Whatever happens this next few weeks, please never forget everything Venezuela's citizens did to get to be free. Hopefully all our attempts to get there aren't in vain! And ALWAYS remember the names of the people who were murdered by the government today, yesterday, and in the past 25 years.

Okay, idk if anyone will see this, but it’s driving me nuts how Zionists are using the situation in Syria to say “why are no pro-Palestine people talking about this? It’s because no Jews are involved.”
No, it’s because western media rarely reports on tragedies and foreign conflict that they can’t make money off of. And, more unfortunately, the media is aware that most westerners don’t care about humanitarian crises that don’t involve them (or their money).
It’s why you hear very little also about the Sudan war, Ethiopian humanitarian crises (especially with Tigrays and other territories and ethnicities), the very active military dictatorship is Burkina Faso, Haiti becoming a failed state and being abandoned by everyone, the (hopefully soon ending) war in Myanmar/Burma, the dictatorships in Eritrea, Venezuela, Belarus, Turkmenistan, and Equatorial Guinea, the civil war in the Central African Republic, protests in Georgia, the complete stripping of rights for women in Afghanistan, and the humanitarian crises (other than Sudan, DRC, and Palestine) in so many places including but not limited to South Sudan, Yemen, Ethiopia, the Rohingya, Venezuela, Central African Republic, Somalia, Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Haiti, Lebanon, Mali, and Sahel.
It’s not an antisemitism problem. It’s a problem of westerners not giving a shit about developing countries and conflicts that involve our allies/don’t involve us. Which should make you fucking angry.
Palestine, Sudan, and DRC are the tip of a devastating iceberg that includes the current situation in Syria and thousands of other entries. It’s not a competition.
So instead of complaining about who cares about what, use your platforms to spread information about these events. Don’t complain about certain people not talking about Syria, start posting and talking about Syria.
Or will you just admit you are using humanitarian crises and the devastation of millions to further you opinion?
Hundreds of thousands of Syrians are fleeing on top of the millions of Syrian refugees who also have fled in the past years. If that bothers you, talk about them, advocate for them rather than wasting time attacking others for not caring.
