ooo!! Slave Auction by Basquiat was also in IWTV, what do you think of that!

I just got this one today and I'm pulling it ahead of the queue to talk about it.

Jean Michel Basquiat was a brilliant artist. Much of his work centered on his experiences as a black man in America.

His pieces are heavy, they are deeply cultural. He covered subjects like segregation (Jim Crow), and the relationship between black Americans and the police (The Irony of Negro Policemen and La Hara).

Genuinely and honestly, I'd like you to look inside yourself and ask, why do you want me to review the eroticism of a piece about slavery? I try to keep any personal details on here sparse, but I will say, it isn't my place to do that.

Instead, I'm giving some discussion questions. You don't have to answer these, but I'd like you to consider them in your head, maybe do some looking into this piece and others by Basquiat.

What is Basquiat saying about slavery here?

What do you think the style of this piece says about the artist's view of the history of slavery? How does it enhance the themes of this piece?

Pick a single element of this piece and consider: what does it mean? What is it representing?

Since you brought up the show: What do you think the significance of this painting is for Louis de Pointe du Lac? What do you think the importance is narratively and for the character?

TRIGGER WARNING: The villain aggressively promotes self-hate for people with body image issues. There are gross-out lines about sexual harassment, bestiality, and bodily fluids, including vomit, with an incident of the latter almost happening. One homophobic slur is used. Cultural insensitivity is frequent.

May i ask your opinion on long furbies? And just furby...escalation? Enlightenment? Art in general, Especially the ones where they partially melt a furbys face to bring it all together with whatever monstrosity theyve built/modified for the body, (cause maybe you'd like that?)

I don't personally find furbies erotic on any level, they invoke a sense of childish endearment in me that I, personally, cannot connect to eroticism. But I will say I absolutely love long furbies. I think custom furbies are pretty cool!

It's, in my humble opinion, a very noble form of art to customize a mass-market product. People who customize Monster High dolls, furbies, even people who mod Skyrim into a completely new game. I think turning a mass market product into a more personal piece of art is really cool!

I'll show off some favorites of mine from tumblr though. I'm not massively into them, but I do enjoy them!

Seattle Superstorm: An Unrated Action Sci-fi Movie

Hi everyone! It's Jayce. I just got done watching a movie called "Seattle Superstorm." It's a sci-fi action adventure movie released in 2012. I thought the movie was okay. I don't think this movie is for us. Yeah we like action adventure Sci-fi movies, but this movie had some scary scenes that seemed like they belong in a horror movie! I'm lucky that Grandma and I watched it when it's still daylight out. Grandma liked the movie more than I did, so we're giving it to her. I recommend this movie to whoever likes movies that are sci-fi, action, adventure, suspense, and drama. Otherwise I don't really recommend it. Meh. I'd say I rate it 3 out of 5 stars. It's just not for us.

Listen... the Corinthian Column fucks severely, but I find him too over the top! He's trying way too hard! It's like running into one of those gay guys at pride who has the rainbow fan and the rainbow short shorts and everything. He's iconic! He's someone's type, but not mine.

I like my men steady, flamboyant and eccentric not in the "glitter-and-spandex" way but in the "collection of animal bones on the mantle" and "likes construction noises" way. I don't need all of those frills. I don't need a guy who feels like he has something to prove. And so, Corinthian just isn't for me.

To me Doric feels like these kinda gals:

There's not quite enough going on.

But ionic? There's just enough flair. The steady symmetrical design, the swirls, the small embellishments? I adore it! It's simple, there's little to say about it, but it's just nice. It's a butch in a nice flannel. It's a bear in a cowboy hat. It's classic, but it's classic for a reason
