fandom psa; there is nothing whatsoever that is inherently "problematic" about shipping characters who are "found family."
Adoption is not found family. A blended family is not found family. A found family or chosen family is a group which, through circumstances or simply mutual affection, hold their relationship to one another with equal care and importance as family members ought to. It's not the same type of relationship.
It's not incest. It's not even pseudo-incest unless you want it to be. I personally don't care what people ship, but I'm absolutely tired of people misusing the term "found family" to just recreate the idea of a nuclear family and force those roles onto the entirety of a fandom. Sure, maybe characters who are found family may view themselves like siblings, or like a parent and child or aunt and niece, but they might also just see each other as friends-- and guess what? romantic partners too! That's technically the most widely-accepted form of found family/chosen family there is!
The whole point of found family/chosen family is to have the importance of "family" on relationships that lie outside the commonly-understood bounds of that relationship. Not to recreate the "mommy-daddy-daughter-son" dynamic with unrelated characters and use that headcanon or fanon dynamic to enforce your own morality or preferences on other fans.

Lita's Kinktober/Promptober 2024!!
Okay let's do this thing!! I haven't found any official kinktober prompts list so I'm making up my own. I will provide three choices of prompt for each day (2 kinks + 1 trope), and if you want me to write a ficlet for you, please send me an ask with the day, prompt, and ship that you'd like it for and I'll put it on the list!
At this time, I'm open to writing fic only for the fandoms/ships/characters listed below. If I change my mind and add more fandoms I'll update this post. If you think you know me well enough to convince me to write something else you're welcome to come talk to me about it!
Who can send requests?
Literally anyone, anon is turned on as well. I would ask that you only send 1-2 requests to start, then if I don't get very many I'll take additional requests!
What info goes in my request?
Please include the day you want, the kink or prompt you want from that day's options (there are three choices for each day), and the fandom/ship you want. It's fair game to say "any prompt for XYZ ship" or "any fandom for XYZ prompt" or the like, but please give me a little bit of direction instead of just "idk any day any prompt any fandom" because the whole reason I'm doing this is that I can't think of stuff on my own. 😅 If you would like the work to be gifted to you on AO3, please give me your username. I'll tag you on tumblr when I post it as well, unless you specifically tell me you don't want to be tagged.
How do I send a request?
Put it in my ask box please! If you don't have a tumblr account you can also find me on discord and DM me there (marmolita), or go old school and email me, marmolita42 at gmail.
What fandoms and ships can I request?
Note: in all of these, "Other" means an OC that I invent to match the type of person/thing of your choice (e.g. "hunter" or "diner patron" or "Galbadian army soldiers" or "mindflayer" or something like that). I will not write reader insert fic or fic for OCs of other people's creation.
For prompts that aren't sex-related (like "office AU" or whatever) you don't necessarily have to provide a ship, just some characters.
FFVIII: Seifer/Squall, Seifer/Squall/Rinoa, Squall solo, Laguna solo, Seifer solo, Seifer/Ultimecia (including Ultimecia possessing others), Seifer/Other, Squall/Other, Laguna/Other
FFXV: Noctis/Prompto, Noctis/Gladio, Noctis/Luna, Noctis solo, Noctis/Gladio/Ignis/Prompto, Noctis/Other. I may be open to other Noctis ships as well, except not Ignis, Ardyn, or any Kingsglaive characters.
FFVIII/FFXV Crossover: Any combination involving Squall, Seifer, Laguna, Noctis. I could be talked into other characters if you have a really good idea.
Dune (Villeneuve): Paul/Duncan, Paul solo, Paul/Bene Gesserit, and I could be talked into something involving Chani or Stilgar, possibly. Keep in mind I have not read the books.
Scholomance: Orion solo, Orion/El, Orion/mals
Supernatural: Dean/Castiel, Dean/Benny, Dean/Jack, Dean/Claire, Dean/Mary but only for "something made them do it" type prompts, Dean/Amara, Dean/Other, Dean solo
Marmalade Boy: Yuu/Satoshi, Yuu solo, Satoshi solo (yes I realize this is a very random fandom to include but hey if I'm willing to write it I thought I should put it in here lol)
Prompts
I'll cross these off as they get requested.
UPDATE: all have been claimed, thanks everyone!

Best Worm character that like didn't get done right in the series? idk ive had worm on the brain all night
okay i'm finally answering this sorry for the delay
but it's OBVIOUSLY amy. like it's so fucking amy. it could not be more amy. yes rachel is a huge dyke and got done so fucking dirty by wildbow in so many ways. even taylor got done dirty to some degree. and then there's alec and brian too of course and plenty of others
but it's amy.
like full stop.
the homophobic lesbian trope that was in the 50s and 60s about how gay people would try and drag you into their lifestyle and influence you and even Good Christians could fall to their dirty tricks and be almost hypnotized?
pure amy.
how disgusting incest is, even when they're not blood related in any way?
yep.
retconning victoria's power so that it doesn't affect everyone unless she wants it to
leaning in even harder to the sexual assault stuff with amy in ward, character assassinating her and acting like she was a disgusting predator the entire time, always intended to assault vicky, and got off on it and not a scared child who warned vicky and tried desperately to prevent her from crossing her boundaries in the most stressful moments of amy's life?
like by far the most universally hated and reviled character in worm is probably amy. yes sophia is up there but do you know how many people forgive sophia for everything she did and write her as a hero with a redemption arc compared to Amy? It's not close.
There are literal servers that will ban you if you defend amy or act like she's a victim at all and don't just immediately and completely condemn her. there are fanfic servers where ANY writing about amy as anything but a horrible villain is condemned and considered toxic and against the rules
all because wildbow wrote a homophobic caricature of a lesbian and then tried to pass it off as him writing a villain and then retconning everything that made her story good until she was a shadow of her former character and then still tried to profit off her arc in ward by making her this even stupider caricature
wildbow is like the worst narrator ever and ward was so much more boring and didn't have any of the things that made worm good, but all of the things that made worm bad
worm itself is flawed because wildbow was (and still is) but is otherwise a great story
victoria dallon i love you but the phone down or text and call me this hate isn't you
amy dallon i am looking directly into your eyes and telling you that i love you and that it's going to be okay, you made a mistake but you didn't meant to, you didn't intend to, it was a moment of weakness that you deeply regret, and you've suffered so much for that. you deserved to be held and loved and improved, you deserve to be shown how beautiful and amazing you are, you deserve to not just be judged solely for your mistakes but for everything you have done. my heart breaks for you and i would like nothing more than to take care of you and love you and hold you tight and close and protect you like my own daughter, you never received that warmth and love and you deserve it perhaps more than anyone else in the world

also? the hiveswap/homestuck thing is actually bullshit. the only reason that person mentioned incest at all is because the queen has all their babies. they're literally alien insects raised by wild animals instead of other trolls. they literally do not have parents to be related to, biological or adoptive.
there isn't even the concept of incest for trolls. bringing it up as a gotcha like there's a bunch of brother fucking in homestuck when they don't know what a brother is is possibly the stupidest thing i've ever heard. unless you count the animal but at that point i think there's bigger issues than arguing if the animal is family enough for it to be incest
...I see you know far less about homestuck than you seem to fancy yourself knowing

TW: Grooming, ship discourse, doxxing, harassment, all that sweet shit, also BlogTheGreatRogue mention, incest mention
Why doesn't Tumblr have a fucking "not interested" option for posts like YT, or a keyword blocker??? I love my moots, with all my SOUL... I literally am so happy that my second time in this fandom is less traumatic then my first time, but seeing ship discourse, especially the recent situation, is so stressful and some parts are triggering, none of it is tagged properly so I can't block tags (already blocked proship, antiship and ship discourse)
I fear BOTH SIDES
I don't talk about ship discourse cuz I fear that one slip up and oop I'm public enemy, oop I'm a proshipper, or oop I LOOSE ALL MY FRIENDS! It's tiring, I'm not a proshipper or an antishipper, I just reblog ships/art I like and follow for AUs & artstyles, and if the creator triggers me?? I block them (that's why Skumu is blocked for me)
I'm talking about the extremes btw!!!!!! In the recent hours if I see a ship discourse post I just click off my homepage, which really sucks, this fear is much worse w/ me having Error x Fresh as an OTP, one little fuck up and I'm a proshipper cuz I ship two non-related characters, but they're related in a popular AU!
Another this is... Pls, if you were involved in the doxxing or harassment (calling out a hidden blog is NOT harassment) or you're just being mean to people w/ empathy (aka calling people w/ concerns for a human's safety names and telling them to shut up) over ship discourse, pls DNI... Also if your first reaction was "you doxxing them makes us look bad" instead of being concerned for HUMANS then also DNI
I will end with this:
Fiction affects reality, I KNOW THIS, my groomer and Rogue affected me horribly w/ shit like this, but, just cuz it does, doesn't mean you just harass people, block and ignore... UNLESS THEY'RE HURTING PEOPLE DIRECTLY! Then you help the victims, shit like targetting their proship content to minors or worse, people under 13/16, harassing victims of grooming or incest or using proshipping to lure in victims, then get more involved beyond blocking! That's my stance, I'm not neutral, I hate/dislike proshippers, I block accounts w/ proship content on them, but I don't like calling myself an anti cuz of the stigma w/ the word
this is the last I'll speak of this, we'll return to your normal shitposts or whatever

In Defence of Leorai
I know there have been a lot of these posts since forever blah blah blah but I wanted to put down my own thoughts and I've never quite 100% vibed with other people's opinions. HOWEVER this post by @leorai4life does resonate with me very well so I'll link it here because they're much more familiar with the source material than me: https://www.tumblr.com/tmnt4ever/713795384789581824 sorry i am a kataang shipper though lol, you're still cool
So a question I've seen come up multiple times is 'Is Leorai incest?'
tl;dr I don't think so.
Disclaimer: I haven't watched this show in a long time and I stopped just before the final season.
Here we go.
Are they biologically related? No. I've never bought a turtle at a pet store, but I don't think you go in, go to a tank, take out the turtles you want, carry them to the self-check out and then carry them home in your hands or pocket or recyclable bag or whatever. The shop staff would have been the last to touch them, and Splinter would have touched them maybe AFTER he got home. With small turtles, you don't handle them UNLESS it's absolutely necessary as it can stress them and stuff. Splinter not being the last to touch them is backed up by the fact that the turtles (except maybe Don) don't share physical similarities with Splinter. Splinter is Japanese and Leo and Mikey have blue eyes (plus the latter has freckles). I don't know whether during mutation if they even transfer DNA or if the ooze just evolves the creature based on what they last came into contact with, or if they're still mostly their turtle DNA or whatever, but I don't think they'd share enough similarities/DNA to be considered biologically related either way. And you know what? That's okay. He's just as much the turtles' father as if he was biologically related to them. Pushing for them to be biologically related (father-son) when it's extremely unlikely seems in bad taste to me. Also Karai and Leo are very different species. Splinter and Karai and Leo all mutated with different animals.
Are they adoptive siblings? Not... really? Only Leonardo was raised by Splinter, and he met Karai before they knew their connections to Splinter. Afterwards, Karai acknowledges that Splinter is her father, but for me it seems like more of a title to her. Splinter is more emotionally/psychologically family to April and Casey and the turtles than he is to Karai imo and she doesn't really try bonding as a family with everyone. He doesn't raise her at all beyond when she was a baby (which she can't remember), then he goes and dies rip. Oh and the fact that Leorai still flirt after the reveal (I'll get into that more in the next paragraph). Karai and Leo do not think of or see each other as siblings. Leonardo refers to Karai as Splinter's daughter but never as his sister. They were never raised together. They were not brought up together as a family. Yes Karai is referred to as family at times, but so are April and Casey and the TCRI cannister. Splinter is their father in different ways, in a way that they don't see each other as siblings. Is it still weird? Yeah. But TMNT 2012's writing gets pretty weird at times.
EDIT: I've seen a vague about this post about how they're like cousins because Shredder and Splinter grew up like brothers. My response: the turtles do not see Shredder as their uncle. Karai doesn't see Splinter as her uncle. The turtles and Karai do not see each other as cousins.
Finally, this is a kids show. Nickelodeon would not have continued pairing them and giving hints to them crushing on each other after the reveal if they were meant to be seen as siblings. Literally a few months ago, the official TMNT channel uploaded a 44 minute video of their 'best' moments with blue and black hearts in the YT title and a V-day short. I've seen people say Leo backed off her/lost interest after the reveal (not that he was ever pushing her for a romantic relationship?? They're crushing on each other but I see it as a slowburn). I think he was being respectful as she had just had her life flipped up upside down. Now wasn't the time to rizz her. Almost every other ship feels rushed and very instalovey while Leorai involves the characters being like. not weird about it. Dorky and cute. Funnily enough. TMNT 2012 does some things well but it really is a case of the show's focus on shipping characters dragging the show down (ESPECIALLY DON/APRIL/CASEY). Shipping culture, amirite?
My point about it being a kids show applies to Raphmona. I don't ship it but I've seen people argue that Mona is an adult so it's wrong. I think the simple explanation is that the show handled them and their writing clumsily too in this regard. I don't think if Mona was an adult that they'd be paired in the show. It's just not thought through well and kinda unclear but I can see people being uncomfortable with it.
If the ship makes you uncomfortable, whether it's for personal reasons or you're just not vibing, that's OK. If you personally see it as incestual, that's valid. But going around saying Leorai shippers all like or support incest is not true and there are many valid readings where they're not incestual even if you disagree with me. Some shippers probably do like incest, but then so do many non-Leorai shippers.
That's all from me! I'm disabling replies in advance bc I'm not bothered to debate. I've read what people have said already and I only have 4 followers.

First it was Law, then Kid, then Killer. Now it's King. Forgive me, it's just that I'm a sucker for some of the hottest men in manga. On that note, I have some thoughts about King. Warning: My thought processes got dark at points, so I feel that I should state up front that, while not mentioned in detail, there are mentions of incest and rape.
I'm wondering where King is right now. I mean, all seven of the (known) Seraphim, which were made from his DNA, have been revealed. The last we saw him, the newest addition to the "Assholes in the Marines" group had him and Queen restrained, with King being impaled with a vine pretty close to the heart. That in no way means that he's dead; people are insanely durable in One Piece, and Lunarians are explicitly stated to be extremely tough even by that standard. The best case scenario is that he somehow escaped off-screen. Worst case scenario, he's been dragged back to the lab, which is probably the worst fate he can imagine. Regardless, I'm hoping he'll show up again.
I have to wonder what he'd think about the Seraphim. I don't think he'd have a positive opinion. Think about it; he had his DNA taken from him, likely while he was being experimented on as a teenager, and it was used to make super-powerful soldiers for the people who were responsible for wiping out every other member of his race. I doubt he'd be pleased to know that, however indirectly, he's being used for the World Government's gain. And then there's the fact that, given his circumstances, he couldn't have given consent for his genetic matter to be used and the fact that it was subsequently used to make children... Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels like this has a vibe that, depending on your perspective, can be likened to rape or might actually qualify. You know, there's some really dark stuff in One Piece. It's just thinly concealed by the wackiness.
I'm wondering if another Lunarian will show up in the series at some point. Sure, they might be completely gone aside from King, but this is Oda. You never know. I've thought a bit about this. The best option is that there's at least one Lunarian aside from King hiding out in some remote place far from the World Government's reach. The worst case scenario is that they're in a lab, being experimented on. The former is the happiest choice, the latter is the most dramatic choice. Guess which one is most likely to be canon?!
Related to above, I have some ideas about what would happen if there was one more living Lunarian, who's also female. While I imagine that King would be incredibly shocked and likely very happy, it would still mean that there would only be two Lunarians left. That, and even if it isn't brought up, there would be an unspoken implication of "We are literally the last of our kind and we happen to be a male and female pair, which is usually what's required for making children. Hmm." Going deeper into that, I can confidently say that even if King and this hypothetical Lunarian woman end up being compatible and attracted to each other, even if they both want to try to continue their race, even if none of the numerous potential problems that couples run into while conceiving and carrying a child to term occur, even if they have a lot of kids... It would be a short-term solution at best, at least in terms of keeping the Lunarian race alive without getting involved with other races (which is an entire other bucket of worms and filled with concerning implications, but for the purposes of this example, I'm talking about the Lunarian species as opposed to hybrids). Keep in mind, I'm working off of the assumption that King and his hypothetical partner are really the only living Lunarians left. That would mean that, if they had kids, there would be no other Lunarians to continue on with, unless they decided to go down the route of another white-haired, fire-associated, almost gone group: The Taryargens. (This can also be called the "Let's Ignore Taboos and the Westermark Effect Option.") But even assuming that they went that way, it would all be gone in a few generations. Minuscule gene pool + inbreeding = Die slowly due to the disorders and lethal recessives brought on by said inbreeding. This, of course, isn't factoring the offspring marrying and having children with members of other races, but it's worth noting that that healthier, saner, and infinitely less disgusting option would still lead to the Lunarian race going extinct. Their genes would eventually be subsumed by everything else, the hybrids would go on to having an increasingly small percentages of their ancestry be Lunarian, and it would eventually end how you'd expect. I mean, my knowledge of genetics is shaky at best, but even I know this.
Well, the above all got dark and depressing, so let me end by saying that I would describe King in a single word: UMPH. (I think that's what I'm supposed to use.)

I get that it's mostly used as funny insults, but tbh it still annoys me tbh.
Re-reading HS the trolls feel poorly thought out as a species in general, specially at the start here they reference several human concept that are just weird for them to know about, for example there's a joke where Sollux talks about sex offenders and neighborhoods, even uses the word house instead of Hive, which is honestly kind of an odd analogy to make, you would think Trolls don't really have the whole sex offender registry concept and they would just... Kill them outright since that's how crime cases seem to go there.
With forethought it feels really weird for that to be an analogy unless you think of Trolls and Alternia as just Grey earth, in my opinion.
It just kinda gets worst went he fandom flanderizes this issue and just makes it obvious that they just do not care about keeping the Trolls as alien to most silly human contexts.
Also in reference to the Autism and the mental disorder related slurs, I have an easier time believing Trolls know about mental illness and disorders than they would care much about LGBT concepts or words like Faggot or Gay, since they don't have a concept of sexuality to begin with, but we haven't really heard anything about how mental illness is treated, personally it'd be interesting to see how Alternia deals with it, as an advanced yet barbaric society, my interpretation of it would be that they are aware of those issues and have ways of treating them but they're also seen as signs of weakness, as any flawed seems to be perceived in Troll society, and thus they're openly mocked and its rare to see it taken seriously.
As well as the fact the trolls are made from an INCESTUOUS SLURRY, so technically, even if a label like lesbian is applied to someone like Vriska and people ship her with Terezi, it doesn't change the fact that she is technically fucking with her actual sister. Regardless of the caste name and blood color being different. Same for people who ship Eridan with Sollux, it's still incest in some way. Them explaining how they shouldn't know what certain slurs mean deeper probably was meant to be taken as a joke. But having to explain said joke doesn't make it a joke anymore and is only there to make a wink at the audience and acknowledge how certain words aren't appropriate in today's time, which they think is a joke, but in reality, it's not a joke. Not even a funny one. I want the trolls to stay as aliens. They are their own race and people with different fucked up beliefs. I'm shocked it's not even more applied to Earth C or other fanworks. But then again, considering Alternia's version of Christmas is literally decorating ANIMAL SHIT, it's no surprise people want to tear down some of the alien customs and push human ones instead. It's not racism though troost me. It's just telling people that certain things they have learned on their home planet in history is bad and we need to force them to change it to other people's standards for the safety of themselves and others, mostly to Western standards.

1. Don't pick up the phone, you know he's only—just joking.
Please respect my time. I always try to respond in a timely manner and let someone know ahead if I will be busy. Furthermore, I totally welcome reminders if I do disappear on you(PM,inbox, all fine). However, please keep in mind that I am a fellow human being who also has to do things, some more pleasant than other, outside of roleplaying thus I can't always be available when you are. I am totally open to working out a schedule together if that helps.
I do not do incest. This extends to any form of it. If they're step-related, that's still family to me and a no. If they didn't know about their family ties prior, still gon' be a no from me.
All posts are open rp unless specified otherwise. So if someone is tagged, please do refrain from interacting but feel free to contact me via private message if you'd like to start something similar.
I am open to both playing and interacting with canon characters. I do like to follow canon, but I am open to some fanon/headcanons as long as it's shared with me ahead, i.e Thor x Bruce isn't canon but it does make more sense to than Bruce x Natasha though they've been canonically introduced in the MCU. I also do realize some world building will occur as we roleplay that will be of our making, of course.
Regarding intimacy between characters, personally the levels I am comfortable with will vary depending on whom I am exchanging with. As of currently, since this is a fresh start, I can't guarantee anything. But much like a screen going dark, time skips can do wonders. Courtship is all fine, but I'd have to get comfortable with my fellow roleplayer(s) before I ever envision anything more racy. The door isn't locked, but rather closer and to be opened. Perhaps ajar?
Length isn't a big trouble to me. I do appreciate something beyond the one-liner. However, I can easily do semi-literate to literate as well as I can do something more casual and quick-witted exchanges. Don't feel pressured, pace is to be found together.
In terms of trigger, I usually abide to the rule of canon typical violence and try to stay away from anything too toxic. I'm not opposed to some semi-toxic relationships with reasoning and development but I'm not too keen on darkness for the sake of it. The world is dim enough as is, no?
Personals may contact me if they do have a rp blog and wish to interact. They may also like but not reblog my content.
Please notify me if you drop a thread. If nothing comes, I will consider 21 days of absence as an abandon.
I am open to crossovers and AUs if we discuss a bit ahead. I just need to understand what's going on and what led you there.
I am 21+ so I'd rather we were in the same age range.
I mainly roleplay in English. If it can help our interactions though, I do speak english (B2), french (C2), Italian (B2) and Spanish (B1) but I have to admit I have never really roleplayed in those languages before beyond a couple sentences thrown in there.

About Me: Favorite TV Shows
I'm gonna be honest with all of you: I'm not much of a TV show guy. I'm just typically not one who likes sinking a lot of time into something unless it's a video game with a lot to do in it. This is why I review movies; they're typically the perfect length for my easily-distracted ass to take in.
But still, there are plenty of shows that have broken that rule and managed to keep me engaged and coming back for more. Some of these are favorites from my childhood, while some of these are more recent shows I finally decided to watch. It's a nice mix, but the main thing here is that all of these shows are something truly special to me considering I took the time to watch them all.
There's a few honorable mentions to go over. The four biggest ones are The Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, and Rick & Morty. I love all four of these shows... for the most part. My issue with all of them is that despite having stretches that are some of the greatest ever in TV history, they also have huge chunks of absolute dogshit to the point it is debated to this day at which point the shows fell off, or if they even managed to get back on. And sure, every show has bad stretches, but with most of these shows being long running programs and all of them being massive cultural phenomena, it sticks out a lot more. Rick & Morty in particular was hit really bad by this. The reason these shows don't get on while I have other long runners with bad stretches on the list is simple: When these shows are bad, they're offensively bad. Like the middle seasons of SpongeBob are bad, but at least they don't have his giant sperms come to life and impregnate his sister's egg to create a giant incest baby or have an overly long sequence in which he vomits after finding out he fucked a trans woman.
Other honorable mentions include: Batman Beyond, Chowder, Catscratch, Codename: Kids Next Door, Fraggle Rock, Good Omens, Malcolm in the Middle, Heroes, Cardcaptor Sakura, Invader Zim, Ben 10, Gargoyles, and The Mandalorian.
30. Captain Planet and the Planeteers
Tumblr media
I had to find a way to squeeze one "so bad it's good" show on the list, but how? Making a show that's pure camp is more difficult than making a movie like that... but they somehow found a way by giving us the adventures of racially diverse eco-warriors fighting against pollution with the held of an absolutely ripped planetary avatar with a green mullet who spouts an endless stream of cheesy puns and one-liners that would make even Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze take pause. Every time this show is on, you bet your ass I'm sitting down and watching; it's the most beautiful cheese there is.

My wife and I caught this on TV during a Disney vacation and we ended up loving it! This turned out to be a blessing, because a while later we had our first kid and she's obsessed with the show (she's going as Bingo for Halloween this year). It's such a cute, charming children's show with relatable messages for both kids and parents, as well as a shockingly good score. It genuinely is one of the best pieces of children's media out there, much better than shlock like Cailou or Peppa Pig (are those shows even still on?).
28. Jackie Chan Adventures
Tumblr media
Cartoons based on celebrities tend to suck balls, but maybe they were picking the wrong celebrities the whole time. Maybe instead of MC Hammer, they should have picked everyone's favorite homophobic, PETA-supporting Chinese nationalist action star, Jackie Chan! This show is literally the Saturday morning cartoon. It really had it all: Wild animated action, mystical artifacts acquired through Indiana Jones-esque adventures. all sorts of crazy monsters and supernatural entities, and memorable characters like my man Tohru, who walked so Prince Zuko could run.
27. Sailor Moon
Tumblr media
I think everyone remembers their first anime, and this was mine. My mom loved the show, so I ended up watching it a lot back when it was airing on the early iterations of Toonami, and it has made me a lifelong magical girl fan. Maybe Cardcaptor Sakura and PPMM did that whole thing better, but neither show had Sailor Mars, my first anime crush. All that aside, the cheesiness and the sheer earnest power of love and friendship that managed to solve every problem is just peak fiction... I just wish it was nearly as good as the manga.
26. Green Eggs and Ham
Tumblr media
If you told me way back when that someday there would be an adaptation of the Dr. Seuss book famous for containing a very limited number of words that expanded on the story, added drama, and threw in a villain who is a blatant spoof of former president and eternal idiot Donald Trump, I think I might have stared at you in utter confusion. And if you told me this show would actually be good, I'd be doubly confused. Thankfully, the show is really damn good, with an impressive cast and good humor that manages to capture the whimsy of the wubbulous world of Dr. Seuss perfectly.
25. Inhumanoids
Tumblr media
I think everyone has a soft spot for an 80s toy commercial, but where most would pick Transformers, My Little Pony, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, my favorite of the lot was this obscure gem of a show. It's such a fun introduction of horror and Lovecraftian abominations to a young audience, and a lot of it is still unsettling and dark to this day. D'Compose will eternally haunt my nightmares between that raspy voice and the gruesome transformations he inflicts on his victims. Good shit!
24. Danny Phantom
Tumblr media
Forget that stupid fairy show, this right here is the best thing Butch Hartman ever put his name on. It's a loving tribute to comic book superheroes in the same way Ben 10 was, but I think this show is ever-so-slightly better due to its blend of supernatural and sci-fi working really well (and also it doesn't retcon all magic as being alien energy or whatever the fuck they did with Gwen in the sequel series). The only thing holding it back from a higher spot is how hilariously bad the finale is and the rather scattershot quality of the final season in general. Too many loose plot threads hanging for my taste.
23. The Boys
Tumblr media
Seth Rogen has seemingly made it his mission in life to adapt all of Garth Ennis' work in a way that makes it not suck ass, and boy am I here for it. Adapting one of Garthy-boy's most repulsive and spiteful works and turning it into a genuinely great superhero show that satirizes celebrity culture instead of just taking a huge shit all over comic book superheroes was really the way to go, and watching Anthony Starr and Karl Urban command the screen every time they take center stage is a blast. Sure, it's still gory and lowbrow, but it's done in a way where it's honestly appealing as opposed to whatever the fuck Ennis was doing.
22. Mystery Science Theater 3000
Tumblr media
I mean, it should be pretty obvious that I love this series, right? If you ever had the misfortune of watching a movie at home with me, you'd know I just do not shut the fuck up and spend a lot of the runtime either pointing out trivia or cracking jokes, and it's mostly because of being inspired by this show. It's also partly because I'm annoying, but that's neither here nor there.
21. Batman: The Animated Series
Tumblr media
No fucking duh this is on the list. This is pretty much the definitive portrayal of Batman for a lot of people, one that truly encapsulates everything the character is all about. Kevin Conroy truly owned the titular role, as did his costar Mark Hamill when it came to the Joker, and as if that wasn't enough this is the show that spawned one of my favorite comic characters, Harley Quinn. There's no denying the impact this show has had on Batman as a franchise, but even beyond that it's just a damn good show with really good writing. I sure am glad one of the guys who made it never went and flushed all the good will he garnered from creating this by constantly having Bruce Wayne lust after one of his teenage proteges!
20. Courage the Cowardly Dog
Tumblr media
This show is pretty well-regarded for how it showcased some truly weird and fucked up imagery, but I don’t think any of that would be as resonant without the moments of tenderness and heartfelt emotion, the genuinely amusing slapstick, or the often clever writing. When it comes to episodic shows, variety is king, and this show has that in spades.
19. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy
Tumblr media
This show seems to be an answer to a question no one asked: What if they made Family Guy for kids? The black comedy, the negative continuity, the numerous pop culture references, the grossout humor, the musical numbers… it probably wasn’t intentional, but it sure adds up. The biggest difference is that this show is way more consistent in quality and has Jeff the spider, making it the superior show by a mile.
18. Digimon Tamers
Tumblr media
What do you get when you cross the silly monster battles of Digimon with the writing of the man who brought us Serial Experiments Lain and a heaping helping of Lovecraft? You get this show, of course! It’s darker and more psychological than the goofier seasons before it, and while normally I’d balk at a series shifting tone like this, since this was my first ever Digimon cartoon I watched from start to finish I embraced it with open arms. Hell, this show is probably where my love of psychological and allegorical horror came from. And of course the show gave me yet another childhood crush, and if you’ve read the Rhine City stories I co-author you’ll know exactly which character it was.
17. The Twilight Zone
Tumblr media
The brilliance of this anthology series is just the incredibly wide range it has with the supernatural and sci-fi stories. Sometimes you’ll get a resonant and hard-hitting allegory on a social issue, and sometimes you’ll just get a cool, fucked up horror story where some evil little kid can warp reality and holds an entire town hostage to his maniacal whims. I’ve enjoyed every revival they’ve done over the years, but the Rod Serling original just can’t be beat.
16. Stranger Things
Tumblr media
I’ll admit that it’s really the first and fourth seasons carrying this show to #16; seasons 2 and 3 are wildly uneven, with 3 in particular veering close to the shark-jumping ramp with its cartoonish Red Scare stereotypes. But even in the show’s weakest moments, the characters and how they interact with each other have managed to keep me invested. How can I be too mad at season 3 when it gave my boy Steve (the best character) a new BFF, Robin (the other best character)?
15. Elfen Lied
Tumblr media
I think it’s easy to write this show off as overly gratuitous because, well, it is. Everything here is turned up to 11, from the gore and nudity to the drama and tragedy. I kind of feel the same way about this show as I do for V for Vendetta, where if they cut the crucial tragic backstory it would make the work as problematic as the haters say. But with Lucy’s heartbreaking backstory left intact, it definitely elevates the story into something greater. The manga is still (mostly) better, but I have to give the show credit for introducing it to me, and also cutting out the character who constantly pisses herself.
14. Smiling Friends
Tumblr media
Sure, the wacky shitpost humor and the black comedy are great, but can we just stop and marvel at how uncynical the show is? The core concept is a cheerful optimist and a bitter realist work together in a business that helps people be happy, and despite all the hijinks they get into they typically end up succeeding in one way or another. In a world where so many adult animated shows seem to revel in pessimistic nihilism (cough Rick & Morty cough), it’s nice to see a comedy with similar humor but a more optimistic outlook.
13. Ed, Edd n Eddy
Tumblr media
This is one of the absolute funniest shows ever, making great use of the cartoon world to pull off the most wacky slapstick you'll ever see. But I think what truly pushes this series this high is the absolutely fantastic sound effects and music it utilizes. Like, holy shit this show is on another level. It all goes a long way towards making up for the living sexual assault joke that is the Kanker sisters.
12. SpongeBob SqaurePants
Tumblr media
This show dropped almost nothing but bangers for three seasons, gave us one of the best show-to-film adaptations of all time, generated a near endless supply of memes, and was generally just really fucking funny. And sure, it dipped in quality a bit in its middle seasons, but I think the first three to three four seasons are good enough that they can fuck up as much as they want.
11. Invincible
Tumblr media
Gee Amazon, how come you get to have two of the best superhero shows around? Where The Boys is more of a straight deconstruction of superhero tropes, Invincible feels like something of a reconstruction. We still have an evil Superman and morally dubious good guys, but Invincible himself is utterly unyielding in his desire to be good to the point he manages to break down his evil father’s emotional walls and save the world (for the moment) simply by being a loving son. Unwavering goodness even in the face of genuine horror is badass as all hell.
10. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Tumblr media
Not to be a stereotypical weeb, but this show is simply a masterpiece. Now I will admit, the first half of the show was honestly done way better in the original series, and that one also had some interesting takes on some of the characters once it started diverging from the manga. But this series has a much better finale with way better character moments, with stuff like Envy's final fate hitting harder than anything the original show could muster. There's a reason anime fans suck this show's dick so much; it genuinely is that good.
9. A Series of Unfortunate Events
Tumblr media
I’m sure I wasn’t the only one disappointed that the original movie never got a sequel, so my hopes were high going into the Netflix series. Needless to say, I ended up extremely impressed; considering how they managed to incorporate the VFD plotline from the very start instead of throwing it in later in the series, I might even go as far as to call it an improvement on the books. I think the most surprising thing here is that despite expecting NPH as Count Olaf to steal the show, it’s actually Patrick Warburton’s portrayal of Lemony Snicket himself that brings the whole show together.
8. Peacemaker
Tumblr media
youtube
I think this one speaks for itself.
7. Futurama
Tumblr media
I love all of Matt Groening's shows, from the loose family sitcom shenanigans of The Simpsons to the great overarching plotline of Disenchanted. But it's really not surprising that the middle ground between tightly-plotted continuity and great humor is my favorite of his works. The best part of the show is no matter how many times it ends, it always comes back and finds new ways to bust your gut and tug at your heartstrings.
6. Gravity Falls
Tumblr media
Disney has had many great TV shows in their time, but quite frankly nothing compares to this animated supernatural mystery series about a pair of twins having their summer vacation at a shitty scam shack. The episodes are mainly episodic with hints at the bigger lore, and it doesn't really ever feel like it's dragging its feet. It also didn't overstay its welcome, telling a fantastic story over the course of two seasons before gracefully bowing out while on top. Very few shows can say they ended in top form.
5. Jane the Virgin
Tumblr media
One fine day I came home from work to find my wife watching this on Netflix. Curious, I sat down and watched it, not expecting much... and then proceeded to become so emotionally invested in the show I spent the rest of the series shouting at the screen as if the characters could hear me. It's sweet, funny, and absolutely ridiculous, a loving tribute to the telenovelas that inspired it, and a blessing unto this world for giving us the gift of Rogelio.
4. Avatar: The Last Airbender
Tumblr media
Yeah, real bold and daring of me to say this is probably the best Western animated series ever, but it’s hard to deny that it’s true. With a rich world, excellent characters, and a strong story it’s to the point where the worst episode would be perfectly fine in any other show, and the best episode doesn’t even feature the titular Airbender at all. It’s just that good.
3. Breaking Bad
Tumblr media
You know me, I love character studies of awful people, and few fictional villains are as awful as the egotistical meth manufacturer Walter White. Watching his rise and fall, the numerous moments where he goes further beyond the pale than before, is endlessly gripping, and the fantastic cast of characters helps keep things just as good even if we aren’t following Walt. Mike, Jesse, Gus, Skyler, the Salamancas, Hank, Saul… all of them are fantastic in their own right and could easily carry their own show. Speaking of which, about that last guy...
2. Better Call Saul
Tumblr media
As much as I think Breaking Bad is objectively the greatest show ever, I prefer Better Call Saul. In hindsight, you can kind of tell Walter was bad from the start, but Jimmy “Saul Goodman” McGill? We watch him go from a morally dubious but ultimately well-intentioned man into the sleazy bastard he was in the original show, and it is genuinely heartbreaking. This show makes you truly dread the moment Jimmy fully becomes Saul, and considering how beloved the funny lawyer man was that is no small feat. The story of a good man falling from grace only to ultimately claw his way back to ultimately reclaim his humanity in the end… it’s beautiful.
1. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
Tumblr media
I don’t think I could possibly overstate the influence this series has had on me and my writing. The personalized superpowers, the meaningful names, the numerous musical references, the unashamed embracement of even the most ludicrous elements of the stories… If you read the Rhine City stuff you can clearly see where I’ve let the JJBA influence seep in. But even outside the influence, it’s just a damn good action/adventure series, with no part being truly bad (4 - 6 are my favorites, though). It’s never a dull moment watching what sort of insane feats the Joestar family and their allies will pull off against the increasingly deadly forces of evil; here’s hoping we get to see Steel Ball Run sooner than later.

Thorki literally don't have any chemistry, if it wasn't incest even then they are not shippable. How can the shippers not see the toxicity and blandness of the dynamics between the two whereas Loki and Mobius and Loki and Sylvie....
they don't even share blood really, unless you consider Laudin or a AU where they're related, which does spice things up occasionally i suppose 2. how can you expect a thousand years of brotherhood to compete the days of universe-defying trials Loki went through with Mobius and Sylvie? Like it's not even a competition, Loki needs someone who isn't toxic and understands him as he is now, not someone who knows how he used to be as well... lowkey pedo vibes from thorki too like wym you knew Loki as a child 👀🧐

“Haven't touched on everything I could talk about with Aegon; there's some sex stuff I've alluded to in previous posts that I almost included here but this is already long and it's an incredibly niche reading of the character, but if y'all wanna hear it lemme know.”
Yes please 🙏
I also remember reading some tags you wrote about him flinching on that “most pathetic moments” post or something like that.
So, as I said, niche reading of the character, but they appear to have unintentionally written him as someone who has a lot of trouble with physical intimacy. Which I find such a fascinating detail because it appears to have been entirely unintentional on their part and done in an episode that was largely meant to make us think "wow doesn't Aegon suck?" and instead I'm left thinking "I think Aegon has a lot more issues than they even decided on."
I unfortunately can't find the post, but I do remember that tag, and yeah, when Jace touches his shoulder during his toast (after he realizes that Aemond will beat his ass), Aegon very clearly jumps and/or flinches, which isn't a normal reaction one has to the person they're talking to patting them on the shoulder. So it's a general touch thing, for one, especially since the prior two episodes we saw him in saw that Alicent could kinda rough handle him at times. I'll go to my grave fighting the "Alicent is an abusive mother" crowing from people who have the apparent mental capacity of a frog but even still, that stuff happened, even if it makes sense (medieval society with different standards on childrearing and also one of the only two times that happened was when Aemond had literally just lost a whole eye and she was incredibly distressed). So there's already that to make the case that Aegon doesn't seem to be someone who enjoys being touched. And I'll admit that this can be chalked up to acting choices more than writing choices, that TGC likely made choices about Aegon's comfort level with being touched and that how physical Alicent would get with certain scenes would likely be more discussed between Olivia and Ty than in the script.
But here's the thing: they've also clearly and deliberately stated in the writing that Aegon has to be absolutely plastered, completely black out drunk, to have any kind of sexual interaction at all. Helaena says it explicitly, he completely ignores her as it relates to their maritals "unless he's drunk", he was so inebriated during the assault on Dyana that he straight up doesn't remember it, and even on Driftmark he's getting himself tanked before he goes to leer at serving girls (as well as telling Aemond that the way to get through an unpleasant experience like the dinner with the Blacks is to drink a lot). This is someone they've confirmably written as a person who is doing a lot of self medicating before engaging in sexual intimacy. And that's an important detail to mark when Aegon is married to his sister.
One of the reasons why Targaryen inter-marriage doesn't seem to have been that big an issue for most of the Targaryens even in their own thoughts is because it doesn't seem like they were raised to socialize with their siblings as siblings, but rather as potential romantic and sexual partners. I won't get into a whole thing about exactly why incest is bad, that's a long and very complicated topic and we all know that incest is, in fact, bad, but one of the main components into why it's Wrong is because that's a member of your family, which is a very specific kind of relationship (it's why some writers like to use it as a shocking plot twist *coughCassieClarecough*, because of the immediate sense of wrongness that sets in once you realize someone you've engaged with romantically/sexually is related to you). Targaryens don't do that, members of the family are clearly raised to view siblings not as siblings, but as a future wife or future husband, Dany herself says it in the main series when she ruminates on how she'd just naturally expected to marry Viserys, though that was complicated by the fact that Viserys wasn't just her brother but also operating as both parent and guardian and bodyguard all in one as well as being her brother. But Alicent's kids aren't following that mold. They do view each other through a familial lens, and it is reinforced by their mother that they are family, that they are siblings, and they were in all likelihood raised via more traditional sibling socialization, not Targaryen ones.
So Aegon is marrying someone he doesn't want to marry, someone he has spent his life viewing as his actual sister, and we have no reason to believe this didn't happen pretty soon after the betrothal (let's assume it's a year afterwards and Helaena's around thirteen while Aegon is around fourteen, that's normal marriageable ages in Westeros). Not to mention Aegon appears to follow the Faith of the Seven somewhat loyally, he also partakes in prayer at the family dinner and as I've said previously, he literally hides out in a sept under the altar of the Mother in a time of crisis (the symbolism, I cry), and we know the Faith holds incest to be an abomination. So you have all of that baggage, and then you add in all that alcoholism talk AND all those other statements? Then yeah, they've essentially written Aegon as someone who not only might dislike physical contact in general, but specifically needs to be inebriated to the point of passing out in order to stand any sexual contact or intimacy at all. And yet we still know he's done it, he has kids, and wow gosh this kinda reminds me of Alicent isn't that odd?
I don't think it was done on purpose, I think TGC and Olivia and Ty made some acting choices (and TGC especially likes to play up Aegon's poor little meow meow status so I assume a concept of Aegon not liking being touched was something he'd have in his wheelhouse), and the writers really wanted to get across that Aegon is a drunken lech, but the way they did it and the baggage of all the other stuff we've seen in the show, like how these kids were raised, means that, well, yeah. Aegon reads as a character who dislikes being touched, and has a pathological desperation to self-medicate before he sexually performs, especially with his sister to whom he is married.
And it's an interesting area to play around in, not only in his specific relationship to Helaena (that's a whole trove of stuff they can delve into, especially after Blood and Cheese), but also in his relationship to other people, his bond with Sunfyre, his relationship with his kids, how it might be compounded or mutate or otherwise develop after he's injured in the war. Again, I don't think it was intentional, that's just how I see it when I look at it, but if they want to lean into it and add intentionality and do stuff with it, they could, and I think it could be very good character work.

I swear to fucking god if I have to see another person say that nishikiryu is incest I will rip my goddamn eyes out. I'm a proshipper I don't CARE if it's incest but it's fucking NOT!! It's the most vanilla fucking friends to lovers to enemies bullshit!!!! It's delicious and I love the kyodais and they're just so heart wrenching in their own right but it's NOT incest. I'm so tired of people being like "well they grew up in the orphanage together so they're related" bitch so did Yumi and Kiryu and Yumi is still technically the love of his fucking life and yeah he wanted to date her so unless that's incest than neither is nishikiryu!! Let's not forget Y3 (one of my FAVES) where one of the kids at the orphanage has a crush on another and Kiryu tried to help him. It wasn't weird or wrong or called incest. So don't cry incest because they were kids at an orphanage.
Also don't get me started on the "w-well they're sworn brothers!! So it's incest!" Sworn brothers just means you have a close bond with that person or it means nothing at fucking all and is more of a political arrangement *cough* marriage *cough* sort of thing. Like the sworn brotherhood between Watase and Aoyama in 5 or when Iwami tried to get Kiryu's blessing for the sworn brotherhood between Someya and Koshimizu. So don't come at me and tell me it's incest because witch I was there when it was written and that sure as hell ain't it 😤😤
Though I can't lie to myself it would be just slightly hotter if it were 🤭🤭 but honestly I like Nishikiryu as is cause it's painful and heartbreaking enough already. Anyway sorry I'm rambling I'm tired of these bitches on here acting like this vanilla ass ship is the devil when I literally ship siblings so like 💀💀

Personal Fanfic Themes and Squicks
Themes I’m really into reading/writing and will probably start reading if the writing's even remotely decent, and also my squicks (themes I avoid like the plague, it's a really visceral reaction).
Favorite themes to read and write:
Power dynamics: liege/vassal and master/servant particularly, though any variation on those are great. (Part of why I'm really into Ayato/Thoma and Zhongli/yaksha-but-doesn't-necessarily-need-to-be-Xiao as some of my go-to ships. Other ships I'm into that fit this to some degree though not quite as well are Dainsleif/Halfdan, Dehya/Dunyarzad, Ningguang/Beidou.)
Hurt/comfort, trauma explorations in general, ideally with at least a little comfort somewhere in the story. Self-sacrifice and getting called out on it, overdoing it and being saved from themselves, characters worrying about other characters, self-destructiveness but it gets interrupted by other character(s).
Heavy kink, especially playing with psychological states, fear, objectification, risk, overwhelm, subspace, topspace, emotional sadism, helplessness, CNC. Lots of mechanisms and more specific kinks (eg impact play, bondage, knife/blade/insert-weapon-here play, physical sadomasochism/pain play, etc) can aid those states, but the mechanism matters less for my interest than the state itself.
Polyamory / non-monogamy: Bonus points if it involves proper communication, negotiations, and isn't automatically easy and perfect. (Ships I particularly like for this: Kaveh/Alhaitham/Ayato/Thoma which is slightly a crackship and I don't care, Zhongli/Childe/Xiao, Ayato/Thoma/Kazuha.)
Political intrigue: I loved Ayato's story quest and will absolutely read anything in that vein; same with the social intrigue part of Thoma's hangout. Game of Thrones, West Wing, Kushiel's Dart kind of stuff.
Slow burns, pining, misunderstandings that add more tension and sadness, but with an eventual resolution/coming-together.
Squicks:
Incest and anything remotely close to it (won’t touch adoptive incest or step-relative incest either, yes that means I'm not going anywhere near Diluc/Kaeya content)
Pregnancy and mpreg: It’s just a body horror thing for me, and probably partially related to gender stuff, but it’s strong enough of a squick that I’ll even pass on a fic if it has “breeding kink” even just as dirty talk. Automatic turnoff which is unfortunate, because it’s so common in Alpha/Beta/Omega fic which otherwise has a lot of the themes I enjoy.
Some kink related squicks (see behind the cut at the bottom of the post)
Student/teacher or client/therapist dual relationships. Why do these squick me out when master/servant and liege/vassal don't? I'm not sure, maybe because liege/vassal or master/servant are so abstracted outside my lived experience, so they're very much in the realm of fantasy. Versus feeling angry at even a fictional teacher or therapist for being Very Unethical and at the narrative for supporting/condoning it. Boss/employee is a context-and-author-dependent middle ground (e.g. I love Baizhu/Herbalist Gui in Teyvat, but modern AUs where a character is a CEO or manager and the love interest is one of their direct reports or employees is pretty close to a squick).
Just kinda meh, has to look really interesting or be by a writer I’m a huge fan of before I’ll try it:
AUs, unless it’s only a slight variation (eg the standard canon setting with this one twist).
Crossovers. Nothing wrong with them, just not interested in reading unless I'm really into both of the settings involved.
Ships that aren’t queer in some way. (It can be a male/female ship, but I'm not interested if it's heteronormative/cisnormative/mononormative. Best example of this is that Gomez and Morticia's relationship is absolutely queer, in the sense of being "queered" from normative relationship structures. Esp. since the Addams family is literally designed to be queered from "traditional nuclear family" norms. Talking about how untraditional the "traditional nuclear family" is will be outside the scope of this post and way too off topic.)
Love triangles that end in monogamy when they could easily be solved with nonmonogamy and open communication (e.g. all three people get along, two of them just happen to love the same person. It's a different story if all three people do not get along and there's actual emnity for reasons outside the love triangle, that can be way more interesting. but if I'm just wanting to shake the characters and go "this is false tension, there is a solution, just talk to each other, you can just date both people, they'll probably even be okay with it", look, I deal with that enough in mainstream media, I want better in my fanfic).
Tragedy/sad endings. I'm warming up to this one, used to avoid it constantly, but now I sometimes write/roleplay/read it and find it satisfying at times. But I have to be in the mood for it, or it has to be by someone whose writing I really like/trust.
Hurt-no-comfort, dubcon without comfort/repair, actual non-consent: Have to really be in a particular mood or the author has to be one I really like and trust. And probably I need a chaser of a more fluff story to feel better afterwards.
Pure fluff: I'll read it if I'm really needing something fluffy, but too often it feels disingenuous, saccharine, or out of character.
Kink squicks:
Scat or urine or vomit: Most bodily fluids, really, but I can deal with spit/semen/vaginal secretions, and sweat and blood are perfectly fine.
Food play: Look. Stickiness just grosses me out, okay? It's the same core problem as bodily fluids, I think.
Forced feminization or feminization kink: Not a particularly visceral squick, but I'm not into reading it and will usually scroll on past if it's "male identifying character wears a dress/maid outfit/etc and other-character is super into it". I suspect this is a Gender Issue for me as a transmasc nonbinary person because of how uncomfortable I feel as myself when pressured to present feminine, as I certainly don't have any issue when it's a person who identifies feminine in some way (my nesting partner is transfeminine nonbinary and I get so delighted when xe dresses up, for example, and my girlfriend is a cis woman and I love her feminine presentations. It's just when someone is feminizing counter to their identity and is having embarassment about it and it's made into a sexy thing that I get super uncomfortable and I Don't Grok It as a kink… Which when I say it that way, makes perfect sense as to why, given my own history.)

kishimoto said he doesn't think u have to be related by blood to be brothers and there's such a thing as "brothers of hearts" he calls them. that they think of each other that way. and sasuke at the end understands that naruto sees him the same way. not that he understands what it's like to have a brother since he already has one. u can't pick and choose what to agree with on his interviews girl 😭☠️☠️
and naruto getting aroused wasn't in the anime and there's lots of translations so people wouldn't even know that's what happened unless they searched up the right translation but anime onlies would only see what was there and this wasn't there.
and how do u explain kids or conservative adults watching and not analyzing? most people watching anything would agree with whatever's shown, they wouldn't be there like oh this isn't true. so if naruto says brother multiple times and has flashbacks to telling itachi and itachi saying it back to him multiple times that he thinks of sasuke as a brother, then that might just means kishi wanted the audience to see it that way? shocking i know
u can have romantic tropes and it still wouldn't be romantic if they label it as brothers all the time
First of all you're pitiful, trying to act sassy despite the fact you are on anon. Don't give me that attitude "girl" when you're salivating everytime you hit anon, waiting for me to answer you lol
I have seen plenty of straight men (including Japanese) saying they're gay, I have seen conservative Christians get pissed that "gay propaganda" is being pushed on them when reading some of the chapters. Funny how this never happens with other shonen titles. It's almost like people outside of shipping circles pick up on the gay.
How about you go read sneezemonster15 blog if this more brothers than blood brothers thing is so hard for you. She has wrote about it even more than me. Do you expect us to explain to you censorship, SJ's conservativeness or how brother term can be used in Asian media over and over again? And don't get too excited, she doesn't have anon option abled so you can't be annoying towards her. But you might be able to educate yourself. And Sasuke was not happy that Naruto called him brother, or friend, I don't know how many times this needs to be said lol
And yes, him getting aroused is in the manga. I have seen the original Japanese panel, and I have seen Japanese men discuss about it, saying it's obscene and gay. Saying why did he have to write this. Indeed why did he have to write it, since Naruto considers Sasuke his b-b-brother as you say. And oh I wonder why Naruto considers Sasuke more attractive than his "crush" (whose attractiveness he doesn't understand canonically) or the person he married (who he considered plain canonically)? Oh wait, but Naruto said brother, so that means he's not gay just incestous! 😳
He did not write them act like brothers, but gay. They don't act like any of the brothers in the manga, they do not have a sibling dynamic, and they literally have a romance going on. It's funny but also sad how you admit they're romantic but your homophobia prevents you from seeing them as gay. And yes, it is homophobia to see something that's romantic yet deny it just because two characters are of the same-sex.
See this is why I originally closed the asks. Because I got tired of people sending the same stuff over and over again because they somehow follow my blog despite the fact they hate the content and their only motivation to be here is to make me agree that Naruto and Sasuke aren't gay, or whine about my Sakura posts.
