A few things ive been doing recently that help manage my adhd

Not sure if this will help anyone but i've made a list of things ive been working really hard to do to help manage my adhd and general inability to be a functional adult:

Make reminder posters! Get on canva and create personalized posters to put around your room/house to help remind you to do daily things like take your meds, feed pets, take out trash, etc.

Keep a junk notebook! Anything you think of that cant do immediately write it down. If its important it'll help you remember it, if not it saves you from getting distracted or making impulsive decisions. (This is especially helpful if you tend to get distracted when studying!)

CLEAN AS YOU GO! Whether its taking a cup out of your room every time you leave or washing each dish immediately after use. If you can develop this habit it keeps your space so much cleaner!

Have two laundry bins: one for worn but not dirty things and one for dirty things. It limits what ends up on your floor!

Make use of bins. I have several around my apartment that I use for things that dont have a home. Once those bins are full, I go through them and discard or find a permanent home for them.

Don't study/work at home. Even if it means buying a $5 coffee just so you can sit in a spot and effectively work, its much better than getting so behind on tasks you get overwhelmed.

It takes some work to develop habits and im far from perfect with all of these, but if I can do these things even 3 days a week it makes a huge difference!

I actually love to cook even tho the kitchen in my dorm is tiny. I cannot wait for autumn so I can start making soups again.

sometimes we have to find peace in being imperfect.

sitting in a room all by yourself and reading or studying might seem boring or difficult but this is something I feel worth doing rather than going out and partying. I only can speak for myself so I ain't saying that partying or sometimes doing something stupid is wrong or you shouldn't do. I've been there and done it all. nothing ever worked for me really well. but studying seems really easier for me now. I've spent so much of my energy on ppl who never given a shit about me and I've came a long way from that. Reading books, studying new topics, listening to music, drinking coffee, dancing alone and traveling.. that's all I enjoy doing now. I can't believe I'm saying this but I find studying really cool.

Hey lovelies this is a reminder to not listen to productivity influencers all the time. Please don't make every part of your day productive. You don't need to listen to self help podcasts while getting ready. You don't need to make all of your reading focused on mental health. You don't need to make a schedule to ensure that maximum productivity is reached. You aren't alive to rush to the grave babe.

Do listen to podcasts and music that make you happy and get you excited. Do read things you enjoy reading. Do make a schedule with rest time in it. Do take little breaks. Go feel the sun on your skin. I promise that taking time to actually exist and be alive won't somehow make you less productive. And in fact, you'll probably be more productive.

If you push yourself and focus on productivity and betterment constantly, you're going to burnout real quick. So take some breaks and go outside and stretch your arms and turn your head up and spin in the rain. Jump in the puddles and get those new shoes wet. End your study session early because you're frustrated and tired and make a cup of tea and get some cookies and watch a show. Read that fantasy book with moral lesson. Go take that night out with friends.

Please, please, please, PLEASE, P L E A S E don't let productivity be all you do. Live little. Relax. Really relax. Take personal days. Yes, get those grades and study and clean your house and stuff, but don't let it suffocate you. Ultimately this is your life love. Go live it. And don't feel guilty for living.

i have started this studyblr to document my academic journey to become a chartered accountant one day. i hope you support me, and we build a lovely community xx

i’m seventeen years old and i graduated from high school a few months ago. i have decided to pursue chartered accountancy along with bcom or bcom hons (still not sure).

college will start in fall, and currently i’ll spend my summer working to complete ca foundation.

fav shows: anne with an e, derry girls, suits, supernatural, vampire diaries, brooklyn 99, bojack horseman, stranger things, umbrella academy, gravity falls, and so many more.

fav movies: dead poets society (comfort movie), little women, any 2000s bollywood, any coming-of-age film and anything marvel and star wars!!

fav artists: hozier, lorde, lana del rey, taylor swift, ethel cain, mitski and the cranberries. (i’ll listen to anything, i swear)

fav books: the secret history, the picture of dorian gray, all rick riordan books, the hunger games, a good girl’s guide to murder, the bell jar, harry potter series, the shadowhunter chronicles.

fav writers/poets: dostoyvesky, sylvia plath!!(i love her), oscar wilde, jane austen, mary shelley, and franz kafka.

other fun facts:

i am a big reader, well used to be, but i now i don’t have enough time for it (shameful i know)

i am also an aspiring writer! i am currently working on two novels and i even have an writersgram (shush i’m not disclosing it yet)

i love stories about history, greek mythology, hindu mythology and everything about those.

i speak three languages but i want to learn atleast seven.

i had a huge dark academia phase, and i seriously love greek and latin so much.

i love fangirling over everything & have like 1089211 obsessions that i go crazy about.

i have so many random hobbies i can’t even mention them all (knitting, baking, art, gardening…)

i want to make a short film all by myself and i’m learning more about filmatography.

i am a literature, classics, history girl at my core but i don’t know why i have chosen to study finance, law, business and accounts instead??

my dream is to move out of my hometown (probably to london, it’s my fave city) and buy a little house and have 11 cats.

oh and the envelope prank the cast pulled on DT. such a simple pointless prank but so well executed, loved it

Yes that’s my second fave too! The polish dancing and all three of them jokingly physically ganging up on the interviewer in perfect sync are definitely the highlights but the small Easter egg for true DT connoisseurs is when they are naming all the big stars who have done cameos on ducktales and he’s like: Allison Janney! David I know you’re a real west wing girlie for sure

doesn't look like it, but kind of took today off. woke up feeling really tired and had a lot of trouble focusing (probably because of how stressed i've been) so the goal was to recharge and enjoy the day

-> classes (total: 4h30)

-> picked up the prep work for saturday's programming class/workshop

-> medical exam to be able to play on the uni volleyball team

-> volleyball practice (total: 2h00)

-> read a few chapters of My Brilliant Friend, Elena Ferrante

-> finished Bodies (really liked it, the implications of the ending are.. intriguing, to say the least)
