Thinking about Loop vs Siffrin and how much their "directing" differs considering their circumstances.

Siffrin's "directing" centers on his guilt for wanting more. While the first rounds of getting something good are fine (family runs in particular), as he stops feeling as authentic, he feels more like a manipulator. The world feels less and less real thus he is setting this all up their own gain. It gets worse before it gets better, and at the end, this is ALL about Siffrin redoing a perfect ending for himself. Trying to get the results he wants to see what will change. Notably this change is to get out of the loops ultimately, there is a drive to get something else out of what is becoming a clearly limiting sense of two days.

Loop on the other hand. That goes into the tone of sasasaap. Mainly. Loop is in a death march. For 99% of the time, Loop NEVER got any happy ending for their actions. While you can argue there's a sense of comfort in keeping their friends in the dark, Loop ultimately doesn't want to be the one to break the news that their entire journey was for NOTHING. That this will always end in death. That their banter and fun will always end in tragedy. So they keep up smiles. They act. They direct and pretend that all is going well. Forever being that comforting precense their friends "need". Again. And again. And again. Ultimately it's that vulnerability that let's Loop win against the King, but it's too little too late. Before they can get to the real issues behind the loops, they're too exhausted from their death march to keep going.

For Siffrin, the time loop is that favorite food metaphor. It's an overindulgence with no rest, no change. A too little sandbox that they can't get out of. Burning sugar if you will on an empty stomach.

For Loop, they're playing out their final moments over and over again. They hide this fact from their loved ones in hopes of keeping this overwhelming despair from crushing them too. They still could have reached out, asked for help, but by the time they realized there were no options left already martyred themself to a doomed fate of forever pretending everything is fine.

I can’t share it properly with irl friends, thanks to both language barrier and media but mostly first one

I remember years ago wanting to share 5 minute interview (in english) and it took me non-stop translation for two days to be able to provide it.

I was the manga translator when I could only understand english language with a dictionary yet needed to share.

That feeling when some anime episodes I wanted to Show had only english subs and I lost my voice by parallel translation.

That feeling when a friend goes all hype and ready to get into it, except they can’t, because it’s not in a language

It’s so so SO tempting to fall into an abyss of translating whatever in. ll of your free time, ever

Yet I know it’s a trap😔 still very much thinking about it
