Hey there, I need some help!

Normally I don't do these sort of things because I have no need and I'm kind of a self kept person, but things are getting extra dicey and I need a place I feel would get spread around better on.

Gonna go ahead and warn you all ahead of time, this story contains mention of abuse in many different forms, so if these things trigger you, I'm sorry. I have to mention it.

I'm telling a story that isn't exactly mine, but it means more to me than I can say. I hope you all can believe me when I put this out, because it all sounds farfetched, but I couldn't make this up if I tried. I hope you all will listen.

My fiancé is a few states apart from me. We've known each other for about 12+ years, and have been dating for a few of those years.

In those years, he's had it really rough, being in a family that was either abusive, not present, or oppressive in some fashion (they were the "pray the gay away" types). Recently, the person who was taking care of him passed away of cancer, and he has been staying with a friend of his.

This family was good for a little bit, but the father was an alcoholic, very toxic and verbally abusive to everyone. His addiction is what eventually killed him, and he has left the family high and dry on money for anything.

There is a reason this is important information.

Throughout these years, he's had a cat, a Tortoise shell manx, about 6 years old. Her name is Kiki. She is rather feisty, yelling at the top of her little lungs if you so much as pat her rear-end wrong. She has been with him all this time.

As of recent, however, she has become sick. She has been found to have a rather large bladder stone and gets worse by the day. He doesn't have the ability to get it immediately taken care of.

I want to help him raise the money needed to help with surgery for her. Anything at all helps. It's much appreciated if you could share the story around as well. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day.

So Fry is in renal failure and has been for a year and a half now. Well probably longer but that's when we discovered it. And we have him on the special diet and he's on meds for his increasing bile and stomach acid and...

He was given 1-2 years. And his health is starting to decline in a way we can see. He hasn't been drinking as much water, he's been coughing more, and more reluctant to eat. Today he even refused food until I did a whole elaborate song and dance with him with a fresh can of food and a special lunch.

And he wanted me to sit with him and pet him while he ate, which he never wants...

I had a long talk with one of his vets and there are tests we're running but it's sounding like his health is shifting and there's not much that can be done...not with his age and condition. They gave him subcutaneous fluids and some anti nausea meds and we can hope he'll rebound but...for how long we don't know.

But here's where the Monty Python skit comes in. Fry has been lethargic and depressed all day until we started changing for the vet appointment. he sprung to life like he wasn't refusing food earlier, racing through the apartment like a puppy. At the vet he slipped his harness and nearly ran outside and was generally a bundle of nerves and energy.

"...I feel happy!"

But he still is reluctant to eat. And much quieter in the car...and his body seems to have absorbed that bump of water in a flash when it's supposed to happen in hours...he doesn't want treats of food right now...

I was doing my laundry at the laundromat earlier , I saw a mother and her adult son fixing and cleaning up stuffed animals. It made me think about how my grandfather when he was alive would take me and we’d play claw machine the entire year collecting stuffed animals and at Christmas time being them to the children’s hospital to be handed out to the patients there.

The different coughing diseases are:

Kittencough: Not normally dangerous, but annoying and spreads easily around kits. Weak immune systems though will probably turn it deadly. Treated with coltsfoot, or a mixture of bright-eye and lovage.

Notable Victim(s): Nightkit, Tigerstar and Mistfang's sister. Featherkit, Dappletail and Stormtail's deaf son.

Whitecough: Annoying and contagious and common but only really dangerous for Elders, young kits, and the immunocompromised. Treated with catmint, coltsfoot, Velvet Thyme (the thyme that grows in Velvet's garden), juniper berries, mallow, tansy (NOT for Queens!)

Notable Victim(s): Sandykit, Bluebellfur and Patchpelt's firstborn daughter. Sadly, Bluebellfur herself would pass to it when she gave birth while sick, resulting in her death as Longtail and Heatherwish were born.

Greencough - Very dangerous. A common killer for any cats. Sore throat, coughing, throwing up bile, fluid in lungs, fever, chills, watery eyes, difficulty breathing, and death. Treated with catmint mainly, though chickweed is also useful, as well as tansy if the afflicted is not pregnant.

Notable Victim(s): Too many to count... Willowbreeze was allergic to catmint and it made her worse. Molepaw was thought to have greencough, but no treatment would help, Leafpool doesn't have the heart to tell Sorreltail something was probably wrong with his lungs...

Yellowcough - Very dangerous, and will be fatal unless treated. Symptoms are sore throat, fatigue, throwing up yellow mucus (hence the name), fever, delirium, and death. Treated with lungwort and lungwort ONLY. Catmint will not touch this, you'll only get high.

Notable Victims: Rowanstar (lost many lives), Oakfur, Kinkfur, and Pinenose.

Bluecough - Replaces Redcough in WCR. Causes a cat to cough so much that they slowly suffocate, lips and gums turning blue. Cats will often collapse from it randomly as their brains struggle for oxygen, symptoms also include: Chills, loss of appetite, fatigue. Treatable with cypress sap. Eradicated nowadays.

Notable Victim(s): Brightwhisker, its final victim. She told Flowerstem as she gave her a life that Bluecough was no more.

Blackcough - Lung cancer, full stop. There is no treating this. End of life care is provided. It will even take out a fully healthy leader with 9 lives. Sometimes a lump will appear in the cats chest, sometimes not. It will always kill a cat.

Notable Victim(s): Gray Wing the Cruel, Rushtooth (who still coughs up blood in the Dark Forest), Pinefoot (who had a lump in her chest), and... Harestar. It takes all his lives from him.

People tend to use the book and movie Jaws as an example of fiction affecting reality when defending censorship or regulation of what topics can and can't be discussed in media because of the fact that people used the movie as a justification for hating and/or killing sharks.

And I wonder if they've ever thought past the initial "gotcha" of that statement. "Ha! Fiction can affect reality!" I don't think anyone has ever argued that it doesn't. But what's the solution in that example? Should Jaws never have been written? Should no media that could badly depict a species of animal that exists and could be targeted due to that media ever be created? Should no media include sharks? Who decides what's a positive enough depiction of them. If people read a purely fact based book with a picture of a shark that scares them and they go and kill a shark over it, is it still the book's fault for using a picture that's potentially frightening? Or is it up to the reader to know, if they're scared of sharks, not to pick up a shark book?

Because if the logic is "it's not that media that contains problematic things, in this case frightening depictions of sharks, can't exist, but they must not 'glorify' the problematic things" it certainly doesn't hold up with Jaws. I've not read the book but the movie makes it very clear that the lack of basic safety measures or respect for nature taken by the mayor and the ignoring of scientists and locals advising the beach be shut down for the season is the problem, not the shark itself.

The mayor wants the money that the tourists bring so he won't close the beach even though there's been at least one death. Instead he covers it up. And another person dies. Instead of then admitting that they need to shut the beach down and give the shark space until it leaves again, he places a bounty on it which causes the people to chum the waters and kill other large sharks in the area, making the beach and surrounding ocean into an area the shark now feels has ample food and no competition, so it doesn't move on as it normally would and associates humans and human vessels with food. Like a bear that gets too used to human food that starts getting aggressive.

The narrative makes it clear that the actions of greedy humans have pushed an animal into a position where it is an active danger to humans despite having multiple opportunities to stop and fix the problem before it got to the point it did.

It's not a pamphlet about how sharks are bad and should be culled. The fact that people used the fear the story instilled as justification to harm animals is not the story's fault. It's up to the reader to understand that the shark is one part of a larger story about human greed being checked by the raw power of nature, not up to the story to repeat "but sharks are nice and good don't kill them" every other sentence.

The fact that this example is used to COUNTER the idea that it can't be up to the piece of media to ensure it's not misused or misunderstood is extremely ironic given it's a perfect example of the fact that there's no way to ensure that nothing you create can ever be interpreted or used in any way that's not pure and positive.

My computer I had it on died and with it went EVILclan. So uh. Yeah :(. Sorry. Im kind of sad about it, but I redownloaded it and have started:

In funny, but a little less specific news. Absolutely NO ONE in this clan has any survival skills. Because as soon as moon 2 hit this is what happened:

-Honeypaw became Honeyburn.

-Bogkit became Bogpaw, apprentice to, of all cats, the newly named Honeyburn.

-LITERALLY EVERYONE BUT THE TWO KITS LEFT IS IN THE MED DEN. NO SURVIVAL SKILLS. They’re heads are empty. XD

I have an incredibly fucked up idea for tmnt fan artists that just OOZES angst

Tw for disease, death mention, and animal illness/suffering mention

So rabies is like the scariest disease out there, it completely alters your brain chemistry to benefit itself and it KNOWS AND UNDERSTANDS ITS OWN WEAKNESS. It doesn’t just make you afraid of water, it makes you afraid of water BECAUSE it coagulates in the mouth (which is what causes the drooling and foaming at the mouth it’s most famous for) and drink water would dilute the disease so it not only makes you afraid of water, it makes it downright painful to even LOOK at it.

Now for angst.

What if a rabid animal was mutated? How would the mutagen affect the disease? Rabies is already dangerous enough and by the time you show symptoms you’re basically a lost cause, so what if the disease that’s closest to a zombie virus gets mutated and an outbreak starts?

I’m planning on using this idea for my own tmnt fanworks but this is free for anyone to use.

just wanted to post a quick update about my cat Peggy, we're still waiting on the biopsy results but I have more thoughts below the cut

so we don't know anything yet, I'll hear back from the vet either tomorrow (Saturday) or Monday about the biopsy and we'll know more from there. my partners are trying to be optimistic and hope it's cysts or some other easily treatable issue, but the more I get a chance to look at the lumps the more I think it's my original fear of fibrosarcoma or another cancer mass. I haven't talked to them much about it bc they don't want me to speculate (fair enough) but our friend who catsits for us and also loves our babies very much came over today, he noticed the lump with us on Tuesday and he was clearly worried from the moment he noticed it, and he took a closer look (as much as Peggy would let him before yelling at him and insisting she gets love instead) while he was here, he pretty much agrees with my googling assessment. we're of the same mind that it's better to know what the worst possible outcome could be and prepare for that and hope to be proved wrong than try to hold out for a good result and be unprepared if it's not. he's not a vet expert but he's had many cats in his time, some with health issues including cancer, so I trust his amateur assessment, and he thinks that with the positioning of it on her hip and over the tendons there, for a surgery to get all of it they might suggest amputation of her left hind leg, and honestly if that ends up being the vet recommended best choice for her I'm all in. shes only 7 so hopefully the recovery from it wouldn't be a major concern, she's a spry lil lady so I think she'd take it okay, and we can arrange our schedules to be home as much as possible with her

I know that whatever happens we will love her so so much and give her the best care we possibly can, and even though it is likely to double the debt I'm currently in, I have no hesitation about doing it if it means a good chance that I get to keep my baby around for at least a few more years. plus, Peggy, peg leg, it works, right? (I'm leaning into the using humor to cope stage rn) she's still being so cuddly, like her attitude hasn't changed at all and she's so talkative and amazing, even though logically nothing has changed at all in the last few days, the area is just shaved and we're touching it more to try to look at it although we don't want to upset her, I just wish she could let me know if it's hurting her or affecting her movement or anything. I feel like she might be *slightly* skinnier than she was a few months ago in her face and body but that could also entirely be me just projecting my worries and seeing more than what's actually going on, so I'm trying not to dwell on that much

anyway she was laying on me as I started writing this post but has since relocated to the back of the couch, so have a pic of her curled on my lap with the shaved area/lumps visible + a few pictures from the last few months bc I just love this baby so much

A few days ago I noticed a lump on the leg of one of my mom’s dogs near her paw. It’s about the size of a golf ball cut in half and it’s hard. My mom instantly worried that it was cancer like my childhood dog Scooby had. It was on his leg too and it kept coming back despite several surgeries. They look Lola to the vet this morning. It is cancerous. She’ll have surgery this week. Not only is it sad but it’s another thing that my parents can’t afford but will have to pay for regardless. My girlfriend & I are unemployed and won’t be able to help financially.

just so you guys know, this blog has been running on a queue for the last week, and will probably keep doing so until next week.

my mom was in the icu for 20 days, half of them in a coma, and she passed away this last friday. we had her memorial and burial yesterday, and i am trying to cope with everything and deal with the loss, the pain, the overwhelming grief. i am also her only child, so everything legal, financial and overall burocratic related to her passing has been left for me to deal with.

my baby bunny (who’s 9 years old), literally upon listening about her passing, started having seizures, and is now sadly debilitated, with neurological problems which are affecting his paws and making walking extremely difficult, and needing meds every 6 hours. my heart was already aching from my mom, and now im scared af of losing him too.

hopefully i will get to come back sooner than later, since this blog has always been a safe haven, but things are really messed up right now. until then, all my love <3
